I had a dumbass dream about Megamind
So you know how the entire movie starts with the fake death of Metro-man. What if he didn't fake his death?
What if he came to the conclusion he didn't want to do this anymore so he flew over to the fake observatory and straight up told asked Megamind to stop. Everyone is caught of guard, especially Megamind. "This isn't how you play the game."
"Then we shouldn't play this game anymore." The way Metro-man is asking is the way you come to an epiphany and you're super happy, like being told your wife is pregnant or something like that. And Megamind caves after a huge argument.
During that argument we learn a lot of things; their real names, that they both felt like they needed to become who they became, that Megamind had never expected to win, not truly, and that they know almost everything about each other without stalking or looking for the info, they just know all of this and more.
The story leads into Megamind's rehabilitation with him going to jail for property damage, because he didn't kill Metro-man and he didn't press charges, and when he comes out Metro-man takes him in. They stumble around learning how to live in Metro-city; how to deal with people reacting to them, Metro-man accidentally breaking things, Megamind not really knowing how normal services work because he's never used them. They become normal people, as normal as they can be.
In the beginning Roxanne tries to prove Megamind is still being evil but gives up immediately after she finds his hideout and sees everything disabled and Minion packing their stuff up to make and proper living room. After that she learns how to forgive Megamind and is able to because none of his plans actually hurt anyone, ever. And he's never hurt her in any capacity. He kidnapped her a lot but it was just to antagonize Metro-man and she was always pretty comfortable.
Hal is still creepy as fuck but they almost bully him away. Megamind just blatantly says so, sometimes threatening him when he gets too creepy or too close to Roxanne. Metro-man tells him to stop and why he should stop. And Roxanne progressively gets tired of being polite, telling him they are staying co-workers or she'll get a transfer for a new camera-man.
I don't know, all of this was a dream so that's about it but it was fun so.

TEXT 2 - SHORT STORY
Bloody Mary
excerpted from Spooky Pennsylvania
retold by S.E. Schlosser
She lived deep in the forest in a tiny cottage and sold herbal remedies for a living. Folks living in the town nearby called her Bloody Mary, and said she was a witch. None dared cross the old crone for fear that their cows would go dry, their food-stores rot away before winter, their children take sick of fever, or any number of terrible things that an angry witch could do to her neighbors.
Then the little girls in the village began to disappear, one by one. No one could find out where they had gone. Grief-stricken families searched the woods, the local buildings, and all the houses and barns, but there was no sign of the missing girls. A few brave souls even went to Bloody Mary's home in the woods to see if the witch had taken the girls, but she denied any knowledge of the disappearances. Still, it was noted that her haggard appearance had changed. She looked younger, more attractive. The neighbors were suspicious, but they could find no proof that the witch had taken their young ones.
Then came the night when the daughter of the miller rose from her bed and walked outside, following an enchanted sound no one else could hear. The miller's wife had a toothache and was sitting up in the kitchen treating the tooth with an herbal remedy when her daughter left the house. She screamed for her husband and followed the girl out of the door. The miller came running in his nightshirt. Together, they tried to restrain the girl, but she kept breaking away from them and heading out of town.
The desperate cries of the miller and his wife woke the neighbors. They came to assist the frantic couple. Suddenly, a sharp-eyed farmer gave a shout and pointed towards a strange light at the edge of the woods. A few townsmen followed him out into the field and saw Bloody Mary standing beside a large oak tree, holding a magic wand that was pointed towards the miller's house. She was glowing with an unearthly light as she set her evil spell upon the miller's daughter.
The townsmen grabbed their guns and their pitchforks and ran toward the witch. When she heard the commotion, Bloody Mary broke off her spell and fled back into the woods. The far-sighted farmer had loaded his gun with silver bullets in case the witch ever came after his daughter. Now he took aim and shot at her. The bullet hit Bloody Mary in the hip and she fell to the ground. The angry townsmen leapt upon her and carried her back into the field, where they built a huge bonfire and burned her at the stake.
As she burned, Bloody Mary screamed a curse at the villagers. If anyone mentioned her name aloud before a mirror, she would send her spirit to revenge herself upon them for her terrible death. When she was dead, the villagers went to the house in the wood and found the unmarked graves of the little girls the evil witch had murdered. She had used their blood to make her young again.
From that day to this, anyone foolish enough to chant Bloody Mary's name three times before a darkened mirror will summon the vengeful spirit of the witch. It is said that she will tear their bodies to pieces and rip their souls from their mutilated bodies. The souls of these unfortunate ones will burn in torment as Bloody Mary once was burned, and they will be trapped forever in the mirror.
Indonesia translation:

Riverdale 4x05 Recap
If they’re making us suffer through another Archie vigilante story line then they might as well go all out and bring back the real estate deals plots
Why was that woman walking in alone in an alley in the bad part of town?
It’s nice of the writers to remind us that Kevin is gay. So looks like they’re gonna sweep Kevin betraying Betty to the Farm last season under the rug. Kevin gave up a night of bathroom cruising so they’re all good now
I’d feel sorry for Hermione except she actually is guilty of a bunch of crimes including murder!
I hope we see Moose again
The casting notice for Grandpa Jones said he was in hiding in the woods outside Riverdale because of a conflict related to the Baxter Brothers Franchise and we now know that’s a detective novel series
Pops is okay with forgery but not perjury
Why is Veronica so shocked that her father is evil? He’s also guilty of a ton of charges!
I did laugh at Hiram’s snarky ‘’I’ll be rooting for her’’
I’m beginning to think that this prosecutor lady doesn’t know what she’s doing...
They’re really reminding us that Kevin is gay this ep. He already had an inappropriate connection with cam boy Chic when they though he was the real Charles, so guess he wants to try his luck with the real deal
Oooh man Riverdale back at it with the junk science. There are no such things as serial killer or ‘’warrior’ genes. All humans have an innate capacity for violence and there are myriad genetic and environmental factors that shape a persons behaviour. Psychopaths do have a distinctive brain structure (largely related to the functioning of the pre-frontal cortex) but again it is a result of many different genes and while all serial killers are psychopaths not all psychopaths are serial killers. Indeed, numerous studies have shown that environmental factors such as a traumatic childhood are necessary in order to turn a psychopath into a serial killer
Looks like KP Apa just had a recent dye job, Archie’s hair is very red tonight
Did that guy just leave his shop and march a teenager down to the rec centre just to talk to Archie?
so Grandpa Jones was probably one of the ghost writers?
I love that their hospital set is clearly just the school
Why would one kid getting arrested lead to the shutdown of the community centre??
Animal cruelty is a huge red flag for future serial killers
I didn’t remember FP killing Tall Boy
Lmao why did FP say it like he was so shocked that Hermione’s name was on the lease
Is anyone gonna investigate Manetta’s murder?
If Hermione is being tried in Federal court than only the President could pardon her not the Governor
Betty killed her cat? That’s fucked up
I love how FP complains that they’ll make him wear a tie and blazer at Stonewall when he’s literally wearing a tie and Sheriff’s uniform
Looks like they’re sticking with Grandpa Jones being a violent drunk and they’re not gonna retcon it anymore
I do appreciate that they’re not glossing over the effects that abuse had on FP
Yeah the FBI loves holding meetings at the speakeasy run by a teen girl
I’d love to see that contract ‘’I Veronica Luna pledge not to blackmail you anymore’’
Murder is a fun game
Brett is such a dweeb
Hermione’s middle name is Apollonia like Michael Corleone’s first wife in Sicily, nice little mafia reference the writers slipped in there
Nice cost cutting measure having ‘Hal’’ not appear clearly
Is FP really comparing the kids at the centre with the Serpents who were an actual criminal gang??
Brett’s not mad, he’s laughing
Riverdale doing a decent job of paralleling Betty and Jughead’s struggles to avoid their families past
Hey Reggie is there, not a bad way to earn a pay cheque
Really kind of lame that Grandpa Jones is just out in a cabin in the woods, like at least abandon your family and move to Greendale or something
Most large law enforcement agencies screen out psychopaths through use of the PCL-R test so even if Charles had those genes, he’s not a psychopath and one can’t turn into a psychopath
The lesson kids is that blackmail works
Hermosa Lodge... well it’s a twist
Lmao another mayoral run plot!
Great disguise Betty!
How does Dodger not know that’s Archie?
Oh man these flash forwards are getting more ridiculous. Yeah yeah Jughead is really dead and Betty and Archie and Veronica really killed him
Oh nice Chic is back next week! And the Blossoms! And Hiram and Hermione are hooking up for some reason? Until next week folks

A prompt where Bruce comes to Raven's defense? Like Raven is having JL and/or Zatanna trouble again (because "now the demon is learning from CONSTANTINE!!!") and Bruce got increasingly annoyed with it. Like everyone knows she's dangerous, but she also has a long history or control at this point. Plus, he fails to see how her learning to control her darker power is actually a bad thing as opposed to her harboring dangerous energies she can't control when needed.
Hello,
I’m sorry this took so long to get around to, but I do hope you enjoy it!
Cry ‘Wolf’ No More!
Bruce hated JL meetings, he hated that the JL was actuallynecessary. He also hated how freaking LARGE it had gotten. Before when it wasjust himself, Clark, Diana, Barry, Arthur, J’onn, Hal, and Oliver had actuallyfelt right; not that he’d ever say that aloud. But the seven of them couldmanage, they could even get along, which was; again, not something he’d admitaloud.
The JL had turned into a large bureaucracy, which wasunflattering to what the purpose was, and they had bogged themselves down intothe corruption of the UN to appease the world; so now there was nothing gettingdone properly. The JL was created to HELP people, regardless of what theleaders thought or the media thought, or what the damn world thought. The JLwas supposed to be able to do the right thing, without asking permission. Theworld was so perpetually fucked up and idiots in an almost elite family ‘bestfriends’ club ran the world. And it wasn’t right. But it was the world.
But when things like warlords, genocide, natural disaster, cartels, terrorism and the worst humanity had to offer reared it’s head the JLwas supposed to do the right thing. It wasn’t supposed to be what the UNthought was right, but rather the morally, human right thing to do.
Which was why he now stuck exclusively in Gotham.
Still, it was a day when they had needed the foundingmembers here; Zatanna Zatara had conviened an emergency meeting like she was afounding member, and demanded that this be brought to the front of their attentionstoday. Right now. And Bruce really didn’t want to.
He had CEO meetings as Bruce Wayne to do, several charietyevents to look over and sign off on before attending, there was also the meetingwith his board of directors; all of whom he thoroughly vetted and hired off ofability and not their personal connections; there was also the family dinner, and with several children, all under the age of three in his house it wasexhausting. Not to mention there was the new contractors he had hired to helpDick and Kori remodel the wing they would select of the Manor, and there wasalso the meeting with Selina to look over the latest museum’s inventory, andthere was the family dinner to attend. Not to mention, he had to be at thepolice function tonight; or was that tomorrow?; point was, he didn’t have timefor these ridiculous JL emergency meetings that newer; and frankly, lowerranked; members of the JL felt they were entitled to pull.
He was greeted by a very frustrated Oliver Queen exiting hisZeta Tube as well.
“I have shit to do!” Oliver muttered as they ended upwalking together.
He grunted in agreement. There was also the evidence heneeded to review in the Dent case before Dent was indicted. Arthur stormed inlooking furious and frustrated.
“I have a damn kingdom to run! I do not have time for this!”Arthur snapped at him and Oliver.
“Don’t look at us, we did not call this meeting.”
“I did,” a sweet voice said. Bruce glared at Zatanna Zatarawho was standing there impatiently. “And what took you so long!”
“We. Have. Lives!” Oliver and Arthur snapped as the three ofthem glared at her. Bruce took his seat at the head of the table, Clark to hisright and Diana on his left, the rest of the members took their seats. Oliverand Arthur were bitching about the huge inconveniences these ‘emergancy’meetings were when they had more to their lives than being members of the JL,he was inclined to agree with them.
“You called us here, so what is so goddamn important?”Arthur snapped when Zatanna walked slowly and purposely for the other end ofthe table.
“It has come to my attention that John Constantine has takenon a pupil.” She started.
“So we’re here because your ex, and daddy issues arejealous? Fuck this! I’m out!” Oliver snapped.
“No, no, let’s hear this out, it’s not like we have lives toattend to, or meetings to handle and conduct,” Arthur snapped.
“His pupil is Raven, the demi-demon from Hell, and formermember of the Titans, current member of the Outlaws!” Zatanna snapped.
“Oh… and this is bad how? She might learn not to destroy theworld?” Oliver asked sarcastically.
“It’s a serious problem because John Constantine is amenace!” she hissed.
“Enough,” Bruce said, his voice sliced through the roaring argumentthat had erupted as he slowly stood. Zatanna stared him down and he frowned. “Ihave had enough, Zatanna.”
“This is!”
“This Is Not Important!” he roared. “I have board meetingsto attend, a multibillion dollar industry to attend to, employees to oversee, trade agreements that need to be looked over, evidence I need to process, andchildren I need to raise! Oliver has the same needs, Arthur is the King ofAtlantis, I think he and I are to have a meeting later this week with thePresident.”
“You’ll be in Washington? Sweet!” Arthur smiled.
“We have lives! Raven learning to control dark powers, demonabilities, it isn’t an emergency or a threat to our world, the Justice League wasfounded to help people, to protect people, we are not here to enforce our willupon people, we are here to do the right thing. You crying wolf just because ademon is here, doing the right thing, doing good, and you hate demons, doesn’tmean the demon is evil. And I don’t care if she’s a demon!” Bruce snapped. “EmergencyJustice League meetings are for the apocalypse or founding members, which youare not, and if I hear one more goddamn thing about Raven from you, ever again,I will find a way to stick you in another dimension. Now, if you will excuseme, I am late for a luncheon with my wife and children!”

So there are a lot of theories out there about who the Black Hood is: it’s Hiram Lodge sowing seeds of chaos, it’s dark!Kevin Keller, it’s Sheriff Keller playing vigilante. And honestly, we’ve been a fan of most if not all of them. But after a few canon debunkings, we’ve settled on one that we think is pretty solid: Hal Cooper is the Black Hood.
This is not a new theory, we know. In fact, we’ve already toyed around with the idea. But this newest episode drove home this theory in different ways.
All in all, it comes down to a few things. The main one being who has access to all this personal information about Betty and her friends and family. At first, we thought that maybe someone in the police force had gotten ahold of Jughead’s manuscript after searching FP’s trailer, and was using it for their vendetta. (Our favorite theory was that Sheriff Keller was the Black Hood, but since then the show has told us the Sheriff is out of the running.) Now, the Black Hood told Betty she’d recognize his face, so anyone at the police station is out. In telling Betty that she’d recognize him, I’m fairly certain that was the writers telling the audience we’d recognize him, which means it’s a fairly main character we’re already familiar with.
Who knew where Polly was staying and that she was pregnant with her cousin’s babies? Who knew Betty used to constantly check out the Nancy Drew book from the library? Who knew Miss Grundy had preyed on Archie? Who knew Alice was once arrested as part of the Southside Serpents? Who is a middle aged, averagely built man? Hal Cooper.
There are some slight holes in the theory, but we think we can fill them in pretty nicely.
What about the fact that analysis shows the note Alice got and the note Betty got were written by two different people? The first note wasn’t actually written by the Black Hood, it was created by Alice to drum up interest and put the Riverdale Register back in the limelight. It would explain why Alice was so absolutely adamant that the letter Betty got couldn’t be from the Black Hood. And if the first letter was actually the Black Hood, why did he suddenly stop writing to Alice and turn his attention to Betty? Alice has, in the past, run articles with little to no evidence with fire-fueling headlines, and I wouldn’t put it past her to fabricate evidence.
Why would he send notes to Betty in the first place? If we’re running with the assumption that Alice (or someone else) fabricated the note, the real Black Hood would want to fix that. Except there’s no way to PROVE that it wasn’t the Black Hood. So what else can you do? You can discredit the Riverdale Register and Alice herself. By giving Betty the mugshot (which Hal could easily have given that 1. He’s her wife and 2. Has access to records being a journalist) and having her run it in a school paper, he’s doing two things. First, he’s showing that Alice can’t be trusted because she has a sordid past that she not only didn’t disclose but aggressively tried to cover up. And second, the fact that a 16 year old girl with a high school paper is getting exclusive information and damning evidence while the more “professional” and “legitimate” paper is doing nothing but stirring the pot is pretty damning. On top of that, Hal didn’t look all that upset that Betty had run the mugshot in the Blue and Gold. He did look, however, very put out that Alice essentially flipped the bird to the whole town showing up to the SoDale gala, especially have he’d gone around telling people she wasn’t going to come. We also have to remember that within the show’s time line, the two of them were talking about getting a divorce and throwing rocks and insults at each other at MOST a couple months ago. Also, having Betty find out the identity of the Sugarman is pretty ingenius. If Hal went digging and then the Sugarman wound up dead, it would be pretty damning evidence.
What are his motives? We’ll be honest, we’re not 100% sure what Hal’s motives would be as the Black Hood. Maybe he just got so fed up with the stains in the town that he decided to take matters into his own hands. What we do know is that in the past, Hal has had no problem getting his hands dirty to do what he deemed the right thing to do. Breaking into the Sheriff’s house to steal evidence. Lying to his family about their relation to the Blossoms. Sending his own daughter away to save face. If Hal already had a crack in his chassis, it might not take that big of a push to break it apart.
Why would he go after Fred? Okay, so. We don’t think Fred’s shooting had anything to do with the Black Hood’s supposed cleansing. His “sin” is flimsy, and the situation is highly suspect. We really think the mugger went into Pop’s diner solely for the money, and when Fred and Archie accidentally escalated the situation, Fred got shot. All the attacks and murders that happen AFTERWARDS are far more calculated and precisely carried out, and it makes no sense that the Black Hood would refine his MO so quickly and efficiently. What would make sense is for a vigilante to take credit for that crime, in order to throw the a wrench in the police’s investigation.
Hal doesn’t have green eyes! Exactly! The green eyes don’t actually matter, it’s all a red herring! Does the man who shot Fred Andrews have green eyes? Probably. Does the Black Hood, Riverdale’s Angel of Death, have green eyes? Probably not. Archie is narrowing the scope of his investigation by hyper fixating on the color of the shooters eyes, and refusing to widen his scope. But by bringing up eye color over and over, they’re also making sure that the audience assumes the Black Hood must have green eyes as well. Whether they’re working together or not, it’s very likely that there are more than one Black Hoods, and by ruling out a whole eye color, Archie is shooting himself in the foot.
But what does the Riverdale Reaper have to do with anything? This is another huge red herring. Because while the crimes of the Reaper are important, the man himself is not. Multiple characters have said that the Black Hood is the new Reaper, but they couldn’t be more wrong. The Black Hood isn’t emulating the Reaper; he abhors sin. The Black Hood is emulating the group of men who took matters into their own hands and got rid of the Reaper. Whoever told Betty about the house near Fox Forest had obviously been there before. And if he’d been there before, he’d found the box of old Sheriff Howard’s notes. If it was Hal, he would have dug into the cast and easily discovered a third Conway child, using his resources at the Register and his pull as a journalist. And if he could do that, it’s not a stretch to assume he could have talked to so-called town elders to get the real story. Sure, the fact that the Reaper was “taken care of” never made it to the police blotter or the front page, but people talk. There are always whispers. And if the town had known, would it really have mattered if an evil man had been scrubbed from their town? Probably not.
Now, the last bit of evidence comes less from logic and detecting, and more from our decades of watching TV shows: the sudden sexual and romantic tension between FP and Alice. Well, okay, not sudden exactly; there were bits and pieces last season. But in this last episode there was a lot, and it was overt. The show wants to do more with them, that much is obvious. But what about Hal? I guess he and Alice could just divorce, but that’s not nearly dramatic enough for Riverdale. What is dramatic enough? Hal being the Black Hood and either getting gunned down in a fire fight or being hauled off to jail for being a masked vigilante.
So there you have it. Hal Cooper is one of the, if not the only, legitimate Black Hood(s). It’s not a perfect theory, but it’s the best we could do.
#cw riverdale#riverdale#hal cooper#black hood#yes it's a tried and true theory but STILL we had some THOUGHTS

Megamind Circus AU
Blue child, weird fish: part of the sideshow. The Barker says they came from outer space, aliens from another world. The blue kid learned to pick locks; they can't keep him caged. He's learning from the acrobats, the magician, the animal tamer, the mechanic. Come see the world's only walking fish. (One of the Barker's disappeared, as did that one clown, you remember, the drunk. Nothing can be proven. The blue kid practices juggling with with a couple of faintly glowing blue cubes; no one is sure where he got them, and no one cares enough to ask.) Come visit the Circus. See the mechanical marvels, laugh and the clowns, be amazed by the incredible, the illustrious, the brilliant Megamind: incredibly handsome genius, sorcerer of the stage, and ring master extraordinaire! Can we have a volunteer from the crowd? Yes, you. What's your name, miss? Well, Roxanne Ritchi, if you'll just step into the box... Her family said Roxanne was kidnapped by circus-folk. Roxanne would say she ran away to join. She made a fantastic Magician's Assistant. Megamind got along quite well with Miss Ritchi. Her grasp of showmanship and presentation was excellent, she picked up on things quickly, she had a lot of clever ideas, ad incidentally, he just enjoyed her company. However, she had something going on with the Strong Man. And even if he weren't in the picture, Megamind couldn't say anything. He was the Ring Master; she was a member of the his troupe. Asking her out would be inappropriate and creepy ; besides, why she be interested in a jumped-up blue Freak? Roxanne found that the Circus wasn't exactly as she'd hoped. She'd known coming in, of course, that life as a Carnie would likely be as much elephant dug as it was glitter and glamor. It was worth it. She hadn't counted in Hal, the stage-hand/clown who once 'accidentally' walked in on her in her dressing room, who's clumsy advances were a little too persistent. She hadn't counted on being befriended by the showboat of a Strong Man, get along so well with Minion (The Fish Who Walks In Land; Megamind's right-hand man) it negotiating an alliance with the shiny-haired leader of the acrobats troupe, or develop a rivalry with the Fortune Teller. (Roxanne didn't know how to deal with falling in love with the brilliant, funny, fascinating Magician/Ring Leader who gave her ostentatious flattery when they were under the spotlight and talked to her about show business and his mechanical projects and actually listened to her feedback when they were between shows, and who probably just thought of her as a prop for his magic tricks...) At first, when the red-haired clown in the poorly-fit leotard threatened to take down the entire Circus, the adience thought it was all part of the show. Megamind knew better; so did the others. The String Man tackled him, but it was the Ringleader, the one who was responsible for the whole show and all his performers, who thought to ask: who is that, in the rigging? Does anyone else smell something burning? WHY IS THAT MARVELOUS DEVICE SO CLOSE TO THE TENT-POLE, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN IT'S YIME TO GRAB YOH BOYS AND GITLS AND GET OUT WHILE YOU STILL CAN! HERE IS UNSAFE, THERE'S FREE STUFF OUTSIDE, GET IT NOW! In the end, Roxanne did not die tied up in the rigging while the center tent-pole was snapped by a misused device and the entire circus-folk burned. In the end, Megamind did not lose his home, his show, or his life's work because of a single clown gone mad. In the end, the audience left having seen one hell of a show-- and some of them even got to be on the news when the cops showed up to take the evil clown away! They weren't kidding around when they claimed to have the Greatest Show in the Galaxy. In the end, Hal Stewart was found guilty of all charges. Do you know that when the circus-folk no longer on fire, and when the Magician's Assistant was no longer trapped, she and the Ringleader had a conversation? Do you know that they finally confessed how they felt; do you know that they kissed? The circus is in town. It's the one with the huge blue tent, the one that was almost burned down by an evil clown once, the one that claims to be the Greatest Show in the Galaxy. It's a family circus, did you know? There are two Ringleader, husband and wife; one of them is supposedly a space alien (but you know that's probably a costume) and the other has this cool act where she pretends to be a member of the audience, and there's this big reveal. Their kids are all in the circus as well! No, I don't know if the kids are aliensbor not; like I said, it's all costumes anyway. Yes, I think at least one of them is blue and big-headed, but another was at least halfway mechanical, her brother had lizard-skin and a tail, and there was also a kid who looked as human as any other Carnie, who claimed to be part of the family as well. You know show-people are weird about that sort of thing, wearing costumes and calling fellow cast members "family" even if they don't share a drop of blood. Anyway, I got tickets. Sure, we can get balloons. No, you know what happens when you eat cotton candy. Yes, I'm sure they have popcorn. We can get some at the tent.

Auntie Hal, would you tell me about the Jotnar and their connections with nature, particularly the ocean?
*rubs my filthy troll hands together* This is an exciting question to answer. It’s often stated that the jotnar are nature entities but often just that they are, rarely why or how we’ve drawn this conclusion as if it should be a given. So this will be fun to answer.
There’s several points of evidence that make up the fact that the jotnar embody natural forces namely their associations with stones and mountains aka the physical landscape itself, many myths in the folklore and Eddic mythology about them shaping the landscape, spontaneous creation of life, and them being the original owners of the land.Furthermore, the jotnar live outside the safe and established ‘center’ and make up the dangerous and unknown ‘other’. They’re also generally the cause of natural disasters. In addition, many jotnar’s names etymologically link to forces of nature unlike the names of the Aesir and Vanir.
Associations with Stones and Mountains
Jotnar in both the eddic lore and folklore tales, have many connections to stones and mountains. In folelore tales, giants are often associated with living within caves. In the eddic mythology, there are notable mentions of giants being tied to mountains and subterranean abodes. Suttung, the jotun who Odin stole the mead of poetry from, lived within a mountain. In Ynglingatal, underground tunnels are explicitly stated to be the homes o giants and referred to as Sokkmimir’s halls, suggesting a jotun who rules over one such subterranean hall:
By Diurnir’s elfin race,Who haunt the cliffs and shun day’s face,The valiant Swegde was deceived,The elf’s false words the king believed. The dauntless hero rushing on,Passed through the yawning mouth of stone:It yawned – it shut – the hero fell,In Saekmime’s hall, where giants dwell.
While not all jotnar live in caves or mountains, Scandinavia is a country where the landscape itself is very stony thanks to having been scraped clean by glaciers as well as dotted with boulders thanks to glacial movements. Therefore, jotnar living in mountains and caves ties them intrinsically to the landscape and forces that shaped it. This leads into the next point, jotnar themselves as shapers of the landscape.
Shaping the Landscape
In the Eddic corpus, it is stated that the originally where Midgard was was a void called Ginnungagap which is where Ymir lived. Odin and his brothers murdered the giant and from his body fashioned the landscape while Ymir’s blood became the sea. While here, Odin and family are the shapers of the landscape, this is only of the bare minimum of the shape of the land. What I mean is, they don’t actively really sculpt the land from here on out. (Additionally, it’s important to note that the land and sea are made of jotun flesh and in kennings is referred to as such. Kennings for land include “flesh of Ymir” and the ocean is referred to as the giant’s blood.) In any case, the more specific shaping of the land itself is often done by giants in eddic myths and in folklore. Some examples:
The River Van is formed from the saliva of Fenrir’s permanently propped open jaws.
In the poem Grottasongr, Fenja and Menja sing about when they moved the very mountains as well as tossing stones down onto the landscape “for men to take.”
Jotnar turn to stone in some of the myths thus becoming part of the landscape itself. In addition, the giant Hrungnir is partially made of stone and his companion Mokurkalfi is made of clay.
Jotnar in folklore often create islands. One such example Motz recounts is: A giant who had tired of wading through the ocean when he wished to leave his home in Riigen and pay a visit in Pomerania filled his apron with earth to build a road; some of the earth seeped through a hole, causing the formation of nine mountains near Rambin and later thirteen more, while the earth deposited after the completion of his work created the peninsula of Drigge.
Jotnar also leave huge boulders dotting the landscape both from throwing them about and other movements. One example is the giant Wade’s wife in England who dropped stones from her apron across the land.
Other than Ymir, other jotnar form waterways with their blood. As Motz explains “When one Tyrolean giant was murdered by another, his blood flowed out to create the Thyrsenbach”
As you can see, there’s a lot of examples where the specific details and features of the landscape are intrinsically tied to jotun activity.
Spontaneous Creation of Life
In addition to creating the land, jotnar can spontaneously create life from their spit and vomit. For instance in Norway, there’s a type of algae and also types of mold which can be called trollkjerringspytt which literally translates to “trollwoman’s vomit.” In Sweden, trollspy “troll vomit” is a type of algae. This would imply that jotnar, at least some, posses the ability to create life mold and fungal life forms from their bodily excretions.
Ymir also spontaneously gave rise to life, although much more complex. He gave rise to humans out of his left arm pit and also from his legs.
Original Rulers of the Land
Gro Steinsland was the first scholar to put forth that human kingship was intrinsically tied to the jotnar. She based this on the concept that the jotnar were the original owners and kings of the land and it was only through intermarriage with them that humans and gods gained rulership of the land. Lotte Motz disagrees slightly with the mechanics of how this worked and that it was absolutely integral to human kingship, but agrees that it was an important mechanism for creating human kingship.
Some examples of famous royal human lineages that came from marriage or other associations with jotnar are:
The Ynglings - descended from Freyr and Gerdr
The Hlaðir jarls - descended form Odin and Skadi as well as King Gusir
The Volsung kings - descended form the giant Hrimnir
And some other jotun kings
Dofri of Dofrafjall
King Snær who rules over Gotland, Finnmark, and Kvenland
Norr ruled over what became Norway
Olfr, Ylfingr, and Hildir vied for competition of Risaland
And those are just the examples I can quickly pull for you out of Motz’s paper.
It’s also of course worth noting that the jotnar absolutely predated the Aesir according to mythic canon. Ymir of course pre-dated Odin and was the progenitor of the frost giants, but Surtr and Muspelheim existed long before Ymir was puttering around in Ginnungagap. So not only did the jotnar originally rule the land itself, they predated its creation and the existence of the gods further linking them to the concept of nature as that pre-dated the existence of human civilization.
Associated with the dangerous periphery, not the center
In Norse cosmology there is a cosmogeography as well or divine system of directions. At the center of the world is the worldtree Yggdrasil. The gods are located right near this center, often at the base although sometimes at the top of Yggdrasil. This is the center. In addition, human settlements could mirror this set up as evidenced by the temple at Uppsala in Sweden where there was a temple built near a tree and a pool mimicking the Well of Urd and Yggdrasil. Therefore, humans live at the centers of their world as well.
On the outside of the center lies the jotnar in many many directions. Muspelheim lies to the south and Jotunheim lies to the north and to the east. Helheim is associated also with the north and of course also lies below. And depending on where in Scandinavia one is, the ocean is either to the west or completely wrapped around. Regardless, it’s clear to see that the center of gods and men is surrounded by jotnar. While the jotnar have their own societies and kingdoms, the encounters with these beings often happens outside of the center of human civilization, thus occurring in the wilderness and natural world. This makes the jotnar natural inhabitants of nature not of human civilization.
Natural Disasters and illnesses
Natural disasters and illnesses are all believed to be caused by the jotnar. As far as natural disasters go, Loki, after his binding, was believed to cause earthquakes when he thrashed with pain due to venom dropping in his eyes. Violent winter storms were attributed to the jotnar. Additionally, the horrendously destructive Fimbulwinter is attributed to the jotnar as it’s part of Ragnarok. It’s quite possible that Ragnarok itself is symbolic of a devastating volcanic eruption, thus another link to natural disasters and the jotnar. Additionally, there’s the issues of flooding. The giantess Gjalp in Thorsdraupa is noted as either urinating or menstruating into a river, causing it to become disastrously flooded.
In the Old Norse worldview, infections and disease were caused by malevolent spirits or other entities, especially elves, trolls, and thursr (malevolent jotnar). Wolves were also commonly named as the causes of ailments. (Sometimes it’s unclear even in context if the evil spirit is a wolf or a thurs as tuss and tusse - modern versions of thurs in some Swedish dialects - are used interchangeably for both entities indicating the likely were historically as well.)
Together, these aspects plus the jotun domain of death and their occasional attempts to steal things form the Aesir make the jotnar forces of chaos and thus wilderness.
Names
While not all jotun names are intrinsically tied to natural properties, many of them are. As names are often linked to beliefs surrounding an entity in Old Norse beliefs, this is a powerful indicator that jotnar were strongly tied to nature. Here are many of the examples we see this trend with:
Aegir, Kari, and Logi - Ocean, Wind, and Fire respectively. Aegir is not just ruler of the ocean with his wife Rán but his name is used as a word for it indicating a literal embodiment of the ocean too.
Jord - the earth
Nott - night
Winter is the son of Vindsvalr which is listed as a giant’s name in NaftaÞulur so likely indicates that winter as a force is a jotun or at least of jotun descent.
Summer is the child of Svásudr which is listed as a giant’s name in NaftaÞulur so likely indicates summer like winter as a force is a jotun.
Fárbauti, Loki’s father, is often interpreted to mean “cruel striker” as a reference to lightning. The theory is that Fárbauti plus Laufey (leaves) or pine needles (Nál) makes Loki (wildfire). So if this theory is on point, there’s several more nature-tied names in one family. Speaking of the family, Loki’s brother Byleistr’s name is often glossed as “calming lightning.”
Hraesvelgr - while this name translates to “corpse-swallower”, Hraesvelgr is stated in Vafþrúðnismál to be a jotun in eagle’s form whose wingbeats give rise to the winds. However, Adalsteinsson does make a compelling argument that the “corpse” might more accurately be flotsam and jetsam or ship corpses, therefore also relating this entity to whirlpools.
I know there’s a bunch more I’m forgetting but here’s at least a decent amount to demonstrate how the elements, the earth, the ocean, the seasons, and the night are integrally tied to the jotnar as forces.
So yeah, I could ramble about this even more I think this pretty well illustrates why scholars say the jotnar are representative of nature.
As far as the oceanic connections go, the ocean is made from jotun blood and populated by jotnar not Aesir. Additionally, there’s many connections between jotnar and oceanic life as I’ve written about here and here.

So I’mma make a little rant/post about Riverdale lol.
this is pretty much what I’m thinking about each character right now. And at the end I’ll talk about my feelings of the show overall. I mean this is my blog so I can post what I want right? Including about tv shows I watch.
[I included minor characters and I’m going to try to give the characters a moral alignment feel free to correct it if you want remember I’m only up to episode 10 so I might make a new post on their alignments after i finish the last 3 eps]
1. Archie Andrews
This kid....like what??? Okay he’s a decent good guy....kinda...sorta...i guess. Like he means well, and he tries....sorta....to do his best. He isn’t perfect of course but then again most teen boys aren’t so eh you know. But bruh can you like sort your hormones out cuz...at this point I don’t really think you even actually have liked a single girl. Like you need to figure yourself out and decide on a girl you like. I’ve had it with this flip flopping mess like you’re a basic man whore at this point. I am glad that he hasn’t given up music and is still chasing that. At least he’s loyal to that I guess. I think he needs to realize he can’t please everyone and he does more harm than good by trying to.
Also why you ain’t helping your friends out? Like you just letting them roam around trying to solve this mystery and you ain’t doing much.
Alignment: Neutral Good
2. Betty Cooper
Oh Betty....dear.....dear....sweet...little Betty. I don’t know what to do with you either. Like I get you like having justice and seeing things done right but girl you ain’t a superhero. You are not the end all be all of Riverdale. You’re not it’s savior. So turn it down a bit sweetie. I mean keep trying to solve that mystery and all but just don’t be quite so headstrong and reckless about it okay.
Her huge downfall is she trusts way too easily and forgives way too easily. Like also forgiveness doesn’t mean you have to take that person back into your life. Like does she enjoy getting screwed over and hurt??? I don’t understand.
She might also be bipolar or another form of mental illness. I’m not sure but she does have signs that lead me to think that. Maybe Season 2 will expand on that more? Maybe she’ll end up locked up like her sister.....idk bruh but something is off with Betty. She’s sweet but like a safe berry look alike that you think safe but you’re not entirely sure if poison lies under the sweet taste or not. Good Luck with this one.
Alignment: Chaotic Good
3. Veronica Lodge
What is this chick doing? She’s an emotional roller coaster. One minute she’s fine than she isn’t. One minute she’s angry then she isn’t. Like I can’t quite figure her out. I know she’s trying really hard to be a good person and I can honestly say she isn’t completely fucking it up all the way. But she doesn’t exactly have it right either. She’s going through a lot and I can understand her being upset and a bit revengeful. But I think she honestly has a good heart. She just kinda has to keep chiseling away at that hard ice cold exterior she had before. She’ll find that pure heart of gold eventually.
She’s also a tad bit too sensitive like she’s letting things that shouldn’t bother her too much bother her ALOT!
Alignment: Neutral Good
4.Jughead Jones
So far this kid is the only sane one of the main bunch. Like he has a lot of shit going on in his own life, plus he’s dealing with his friends’ shit and helping them out and like he still manages to stay cool about it. Okay so he’s had one freak out on Betty so far but...I mean I think he’s allowed that. I mean he hasn’t done anything else. He hasn’t complained about his life or anything he’s just kind of accepted everything in stride like “This is my life this is what is happening gotta keep going”. I think he’s doing the best he can minding his circumstances.
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
5. Hermione Lodge
What am I honestly supposed to think of this woman? I really have no idea. Like I don’t hate her, I don’t necessarily like her. She just is kinda both a support beam and a stumbling block to the other characters all at once. She has a lot of secrets though. Some I’m sure are still yet to have made their appearance. I’d like to think she’s a good person but....I’m not entirely sure of that. She’s got some shady shit going down. I hope she can get her life together and decide who and what she really wants to become and not a woman tied to her imprisoned husband and her commitment to him. I think right now that’s what’s holding her back. But hey 3 more eps and another season hopefully she’ll grow as a person for the better.
Alignment: Neutral Good
6. Fred Andrews
Honestly he’s a really good person. He’s doing his best for his son. And he does his best for his friends and people he cares about. He’s just trying to find some good in the world and a safe place for his son even though the world is against him.
Alignment: Lawful Good [okay minus the keeping Jughead out of jail fake timeslip situation]
7. Kevin Keller
He’s a good kid. I don’t have too much to say about him. He’s loyal to his friends and boyfriend. He’s just doing his best at being a teenager and a friend and a boyfriend and a son.
Alignment: Lawful Good [he is the sheriff's son after all]
8. Cheryl Blossom
This BITCH!!! Sometimes I don’t even know what to think of her. Like one minute she seems kinda sweet and then the next i wanna punch her face in. I don’t understand her and her actions. Like I get her parents are uptight bitches themselves but why is she just so.....ugh!!! Why does she have these really small moments of sweetness where it’s almost like “Hey maybe she’s turning into a decent person.....oh wait nah”. I’d like to yank her red hair off her head for Betty and Veronica.
Alignment: Lawful Evil
9. Alice Cooper
Ooooohhhhh this BITCH! Okay let me just say my opinion of her has slightly changed since the beginning. Quite some character development for only 10 episodes. But hey when it really comes down to it a mama bear is gonna protect her baby bears. In the beginning I just thought she was a cold hearted ice woman set on being the dictator of Riverdale. Ruling with an iron fist her children, husband, “friends”, and all other citizens of the city. But it’s come to light that she might not be as big of a bitch as she could’ve been. Like she actually has a hint of kindness and motherly love in her. So maybe she isn’t all bad. But we’ll see what the next 3 eps show.
Alignment: Lawful Evil
10. Josie Mccoy
This girl is one hell of a DIVA! Understand her though, music is her life. It’s everything to her. So when anyone or anything tries to jeopardize that she isn’t going to stand for it. She stands tall and proud and strong. Even though she has her own personal battles and family issues. She is still proud of who she is and not ashamed to show off her ears and tail. haha She can be a bit overwhelming and maybe a bit too serious but I honestly do like her. She has a passion and while it might seem like she’s being a bitch sometimes she just doesn’t want anything risking her dream.
Alignment: Lawful Neutral
11. F.P Jones
Man oh man where to even start with this guy. Like what are you doing!?? You’re nuts. Like okay so you had a good run with the Serpents. I get it they treat you well, you feel like you belong but dude. You could honestly have a good life again if you’d just clean your ass up. Get a job, work hard, go to like rehab for the alcohol. GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER! Maybe your son would like to be around you then, maybe he’d genuinely believe in you and trust you again. You could have your family back. But instead you keep fucking shit up. Also at this point your a high contender for being the murderer.
I feel like somewhere deep down he’s a good person. He could be a good dad and a good husband. But instead he keeps letting this side of him win. He keeps listening to that voice inside him saying “Once a fuckup always a fuckup you can’t fix it now” I guess in the end I’m not really sure where he’s gonna end up. Like he has the possibility to be good. But for now he isn’t.
Alignment: Neutral Evil
12. Hal Cooper
Good grief this man! How can you honestly have so much hate over what happened decades ago? Like time to let things go man! How can you be such a douche? Like hurting one daughter isn’t enough you have to go on and hurt your other daughter plus your wife. Where are you going to stop. When will you hate end? I honestly thought that Alice was the mastermind behind the evil that is the Cooper parents but it was the dad all this time. He’s the second contender for murderer. I mean I won’t know till the end of the season I guess but I have this like gut wrenching feeling every time i see him on the screen. Like if he’s capable of sending his own daughter away and trying to have her kill the baby. Well what else is he capable of??? All that hate can’t lead to anything good.
Alignment: Chaotic Evil
13. Penelope Blossom
Doesn’t this woman give you the chills just looking at her? She’s fuckin creepy! I don’t know if it’s just because she doesn’t have much of a character besides insane mom. Or if it’s the fact that I have no idea what she’s capable of doing. But I’d like to hope that maybe she isn’t really all that horrible and maybe she does actually care about Cheryl and her deceased son as much as she makes people think she does.
Alignment: Lawful Evil
14. Valerie Brown
Awww sweet sweet Valerie. She’s so sweet and honest and pure. She just wants to be a good person. She also truly liked Archie and he blew that shit up. Like what to go fucktard. It’s okay though because Valerie deserves better. She’s a sweet girl and she deserves someone who’s gonna treat her right. Also I hope Josie will ease up on her now a bit and be more best friend than group leader. Valerie is talented and deserves to have that shown.
Alignment: Lawful Good
15. Clifford Blossom
I don’t even know everything about him yet. But I already know he’s just pure evil. Like the dude seems to have no heart. Not for his wife, his daughter or his deceased son. Like have you seen him be visibly upset?? I haven’t. Like the mom ain’t good but she was at least a little shaken about her son’s death. He’s just kinda like “Oh yeah...he’s dead...okay”. Also he’s a strong contender for the murderer. Like there is something so off about him that yeah I could believe that he killed his own son.
Alignment: Chaotic Evil
16. Mayor Mccoy
I mean she’s mayor and all but I’m not entirely sure she’s all good. Like I think she has some secrets up her sleeve that she isn’t letting people know about. Also not to mention she’s kinda got a weird relationship with her daughter. Like she’s proud of her and loves her but also puts a shit ton of pressure on her to be perfect.....yeah she’s one of THOSE moms. I mean I guess she might be a good person. I don’t particularly like her though.
Alignment: Lawful Neutral [I mean she is the mayor she has to follow some rules somewhere]
17. Polly Cooper
Poor Polly she’s been through a shit storm. She didn’t deserve any of this. She just wanted to be happy with Jason. But no one would let her. She’s been dragged away and told she’s crazy, lied to, isolated. She’s just lonely and scared and wants someone to love her and care about her. She just wants her family and sadly she has to deal with the fact that the father of her unborn babies is dead. Like that’s not okay. This is more than a teenager should have to deal with. I just hope she can come to find happiness eventually. She deserves that.
Alignment: Chaotic Good
18. Joaquin DeSantos
Note: He looks like a young John Travolta which I think is probably what the producers were going for.
Anyway I’m not sure what to think of this kid yet. I’m waiting to see where his inner morals lay. Like yeah I know he’s apart of the Serpents and the loyalty to the gang is strong but that’s not to say that his inner feelings for Kevin that are starting to grow and show will lead to his own moral decisions on what he’s going to do. I think he’s gonna play a major part in the next 3 episodes. I hope my assumption of his alignment doesn’t prove me wrong.
Alignment: [Currently] Lawful Evil
[Assumed Future Alignment] Neutral Good
19. Chuck Clayton
Ugh this BITCH! Yeah I called him a bitch that’s what he is. I hate him honestly. He’s a sickening sexual harraser. I can’t stand him! And for him to stand and act like what he did was no big deal or that it doesn’t matter or that it’s okay. The worst part is he may be a character but men like him exist. No wonder he made Betty snap, he’d probably make me snap, He’s so sickening and ugh he’s a snake. I hope maybe he’ll see the error of his ways eventually but I highly doubt it.
Alignment: Neutral Evil
20. Ethel Muggs
Sweet Ethel, she doesn’t deserve all the things that have been done to her. What has she done wrong? Nothing. She loves her family and her friends and she does good. She’s just a sweet girl caught in this spiral of hell that is Riverdale. Maybe she should move she doesn’t deserve this shit storm.
Alignment: Lawful Good
Riverdale
This show is really soo good. I think majority of the characters are well rounded, they don’t just do things because they are one dimensional and lifeless. Cheryl isn’t a bitch just because she’s supposed to be. Betty isn’t trying to bring justice to the Jason’s death just because she’s supposed. They all have reasons and justifications behind every action. It’s a well written show. I enjoy it a lot.
Also I just love over all arching mysteries. Like yeah each episode has it’s own story and plot but there is also that over arching mystery that is yet to be solved and each episode adds a tiny bit of the puzzle and I love it!!!
Note: I was going to put all the characters but I thought that was a bit much and a lot of them are just kinda not super important I mean like how much could I really write about Reggie or Ginger? So I left them out. Also no spoilers please! I wanna finish watching it.

Continuing on from my previous asks, how do you think Hal's brothers would react to finding out that he was GL? (Also his nephews/nieces reactions, if you feel like it.) Also, how would they react to meeting the interceptor crew?
Ok this started out pretty short and ended. Not Pretty Short so I’m just gonna slap it under a read more
Now, Jim is a father of 3. Back when they were kids, he stayed out of trouble, never took sides, etc etc. He’s the one who kept contact after Hal was disowned. Hal tells Jim about 4 years after getting the ring, because this secret feels like it’s going to eat him from the inside out, and he trusts his little brother. And telling Jim means telling Jim’s wife, Susan, too.
Jim wouldn’t believe it if Hal wasn’t floating a foot in the air and glowing. His jaw drops as Sue hops to her feet and has an absolute conniption, because she thought that Jim was Green Lantern, what kind of reporter doesn’t see that her brother in law is a superhero come on
Their kids are Howie, Arthur, and Jane. Hal tells each of them on their respective 8th birthdays, because by then they’re old enough to understand that it’s A Huge Secret, but young enough for people not to take them seriously if they slip. They’re all delighted, because their uncle is in the Justice League, and he flies them around whenever he can get away with it.
Jack, however... Hooooo boy. Hal had planned on Jack never finding out that he gallivants around saving the day, because if his big brother could find a way to blame Hal for their mother contracting cancer, there’s no way he wouldn’t subscribe to the anti-hero rhetoric that heroes somehow create villains.
The meeting between Razer and Jack was a fluke; he and Razer were testing out a device to disguise Razer as a human when Jack stopped by the apartment.
(Hal was, at this point, still technically Declared Missing. He’s a jerk, but Hal’s his little brother. He had to check.)
When Jack did find out, it’s because Hal ran out of ring charge in front of him. And he’s floored and like? Wants to point out how dangerous this is, how is this an improvement from the air force, mom would be so disappointed, but he can’t because Evil Star is blasting things and they Need to Run Like Right Now
It took a couple minutes for the Interceptor crew to show, but when they did, Evil Star didn’t know what hit him. Hal charges his ring as Razer gives Jack an absolutely withering glare.
“She’d hate this, you know.” He tries. “Mom, I mean.”
“I know.” Hal replies quietly. “But I’ve saved the galaxy a few times, so it balances out, right?”
Even Jack can’t argue that point.
Jack’s kids are Jason and Helen. They don’t see Hal much, but they’re pretty sure their funny, weird uncle Hal is secretly the funny, weird brown-haired Green Lantern. They got a Guy Gardner action figure, colored his hair brown with a marker, and make up space adventures for him.

WHEN THE HERO BECAMES THE VILLAIN
Captain America, Marvel ‘s good guy, honest, and a man that lived for honor and truth, is actually... an HYDRA agent.
Well, that's what Marvel Comics has revealed. A revelation with the perfect formula for chaos, fans freaked out, much has been said, and much has been speculated. But, that’s not what we are going to talk about today. Recently, I've been reading an article from a comic book expert blog, and I came across this: Heroes who ended up changing sides, or revealing themselves as an enemy. So I decided to make another list, and give something sinister for you to think about. What if Superman was, after all, DC's biggest villain? Okay, I'm not going to fantasize, but it's good to imagine that things could change so drastically, if all we know of a character is a complete farce. Taking the fanboy aside, here we go.
And we start with a very popular DC’s character.
Superman.
Injustice. This game has a very interesting plot. The joker threatens Metropolis with a nuclear bomb and still tricks the Kryptonian who ends up killing his pregnant wife, Lois Lane. This drives him crazy, Superman loses control and submits Earth to a terrorist regime. According to him, only if the heroes act with violence is that peace would be assured. He is not the only one to become a villain in the game. All this chain of events brings to us the “gamers”, a universe of chaos and amazing battles. However, it's no good seeing Superman as the one who can freak out at any moment and destroy a entire planet.
Still in DC’s Universe ...
Hal Jordan,
Considered by far as the greatest of the Green Lanterns. The Lantern holder since 1950. To give a sway in the stories of the Lanterns, DC comics, has decided to give the fans “something” not very green... After Mongul destroyed Coast City, Jordan goes mad, the hero goes to meet the Guardians of the Universe, and begs for them to use their powers, Jordan wanted them to recreate the city and revive its inhabitants. The Guardians deny the request, claiming that these powers should not be used for their own benefit. It is then that Hal begins the terror, annihilating most of the members of the Green Lantern Corps and stealing their rings, now he could absorb all the energy from Oa's Central Battery, and do whatever he wanted. Years later, DC Comics revealed that Jordan was acting under the influence of Parallax, the fear entity that controlled his body. For some fans, that was disappointing, was it hard to admit that Jordan had given in to the bad side of things? Anyway, Hal's plot is still one of the most intriguing in this saga of heroes who have become villains.
Jean Grey.
One of Marvel's most powerful female characters. The telepath sacrificed herself to save the X-MEN. It was expected that after such a noble act, if there was any possibility of Jean Grey returning, she would come back even more determined to do good. However, that’s not what happened. When immersing from the bottom of the ocean, the redhead is now called the Phoenix. Incredibly more powerful, her powers had not only increased, everything seemed to be stronger and more evil. As it turns out, the Hellfire Club got into Jean's mind, and now she was the perfect, dark and ruthless weapon. Jean had obtained the power of the phoenix in one of the space travels that the X-MEN team had made, until then she had managed to control the absurd power, but not after the sacrifice. The cosmic entity finally emerged, very powerful. The Dark Phoenix, traveled the universe causing chaos, devouring stars, annihilating everything that was ahead. And then she was defeated, only to return one more time. Jean Grey is certainly one of the most relentless villains that X-MEN have ever faced.
Bucky Barnes.
In the 2000s, Marvel wanted to bring back to life, Captain America's best friend, Bucky Barnes. No script was strong and good enough to "bring to life" such an important character, until Ed Brubaker came up with a premise, and in 2005 came the story: Bucky would have been rescued by HYDRA during the World War II, the organization had made experiments on the young soldier, in addition to brainwashing, Bucky reappears, what was once the good guy, the hero who sacrificed his life for his friend, is now the murderous Winter Soldier.
And the list of Marvel heroes who changed teams does not stop there.
Scarlet Witch. Or Wanda Maximoff, as you prefer. In comics, she has already been presented to us as a villain. Her mental instability made her uncontrollable many times. She joined the Avengers, now she’s on the hero team, and that lasted for a while, until House of M. There is no doubt that Scarlet Witch is extremely powerful, the character who has the power to alter reality, and annihilate the powers of other mutants, she’s for sure, someone you’d like to have by your side, especially if you're a villain. You may already know this outstanding quote of hers “no more mutants”, that was followed by leaving 90% of the earth mutants unpowered.
Angel “Savior… killer.. harbinger of hope or destruction. I am unsure who, or what, I am. But I’d like to find out.”
Warren Worthington III, one of X-men founders, the man with wings. I remember when I watched an X-men animation on TV, and I saw the Angel for the first time, the sun covering his body and face, and his wings casting a huge shadow on the ground, I thought, "This guy is definitely a hero I wanted to protect my world. " It turns out that it was not even that disappointing for me when he went from hero to enemy. My disappointment with this character is: I expected more, I wanted a villain worthy of being called a fallen, unforgiving angel. Straight to the point ... During the Mutant Massacre saga, Angel was seriously injured, the mutant had been saved by Thor, but his injuries were so deadly that he lost his wings. The character went through a depressive phase until it was found and genetically modified by the Apocalypse. Warren, no longer Angel, he goes by the name Archangel, and was helper of the Apocalypse. Spreading pain and chaos along with his metal wings. Even after regaining consciousness, Archangel was no longer the same, and went through some periods in which he was the villain.
Superboy Prime. Back to DC characters, we have this Superman from an alternative land: Earth Prime, a place where superheroes only exist in comic books - imagine that he was here, in our land, not fictional. This young Clark Kent from the parallel reality, who had grown up as a Superman fan of fiction. One day, Comet Halley passes close to the earth, and the boy gets superpowers. During the crisis on Infinite Earths, Superboy Prime comes to our reality and helps to defeat the Anti-Monitor, however, Earth Prime is destroyed and he ends up stuck in a parallel dimension along with Lex Luthor, Lois Lane and other Superman. The boy grows frustrated to see the other heroes acting, without him being able to interact, Superboy goes crazy, and begins to believe that he is the true Superman. He finally breaks the barrier of reality, and returns claiming that Earth Prime was the only one that should exist, Superboy Prime changes origins, fight with various heroes, even kill them, all to prove that he is the only hero worthy of the universe.

all of them
I’m like 80% sure my son sent at least one of these.
Under the read more because boy howdy will this be long.
☯ Is there a muse you've always wanted to play?
Hal and Dirk. I love them both so much.
♣ Is there an author(s) that you look up to with your writing skills?
@technologictempest @embellishedbookworm and @disamorarsi
The way they write is hella nice.
♧ Is there an RP partner(s) that you credit for becoming a better writer?
@technologictempest
The best son. I’ve been rping with them for a looooong time. I can only hope I’ve gotten better since we first met.
@radicalangelique
The wife. i’ve also rped with them for a long time. It’s actually how we met.
♥ What's your favorite ship with your muse?
All the ships I have with him so far are my favorite. Which is surprising. I never expected to ship with a John considering it’s a NOTP of mine.
♡ Would you ever write a poly ship?
Yup.
♦ What's an AU that you've always wanted?
:u the one I’m currently in. I LOVE angel/demonstuck aus.
♢ What's an AU that you think just won't work with your muse?
Hm.... I don’t know really. Kidswap? Maybe???
♔ What's your opinion on teacher/student verses? Do you have any of these as threads?
:? I don’t think I would be too comfortable with that. If you mean shipping then no.
♕ Do you like magic!anons? Why or why not?
I LOVE them. I want more of them. They’re fun to do depending on the anon. There’s only one anon I’ve ever hated and it was one that I didn’t receive. My wife had gotten a bad anon and I raged for at least two days. If you follow my Dave blog then you know which one I’m talking about.
⚜ What is the best time to write for you? Why?
There’s never a “good” time for me to write. Not now anyway. I write my muse pretty much all day every day. There are BAD times for me to write, which is usually when I’m in a really bad or low mood.
★ What type of historical AU would you like to do one day?
I don’t know. I don’t think I’m too familiar with historical aus?
☆ What type of fantasy AU would you like to do one day?
Vampires, Werewolves, Faeries, angels, demons. I love those kinds of aus.
☄ Do you think your muse would have liked going to high school sports games? Do you or did you go to high school sports games?
He might have? I will not talk about my stance on sports. If you know me personally, then you know my stance.
☾ Do you like writing smut? Why or why not?
Sorta??? Certain conditions have to be met first. I’m hella insecure about how I write smut and I want to get better at it.
☽ Do you like writing angst? Why or why not?
I do. But i prefer to be at home so I can cry while I write it. There also has to be comfort after it.
☼ What's an FC that you're dying to use? Why?
I don’t really need one?
☀ What's an FC that you desperately want to play with? Why?
None.
☁ What's an FC that you refuse to play with? Why?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
☂ How does your muse spend a rainy day? How do you spend a rainy day?
Inside reading a book, usually. Or playing video games. Same with me. Although I draw instead of read these days. And I would draw more IF MY LAPTOP WOULD WORK BETTER.
☃ If your muse was cartoonized, what would their FC be? Why?
He IS a cartoon. Well, a web comic character to be exact.
☺ What's a character that you desperately want your muse to play with? Why?
Eh. No particular character? Those I want him to interact with I reach out to. If people don’t respond after like a few attempts of conversation or it gets dropped suddenly I take the hint.
☹ What's a character that you refuse to play with? Why?
I WOULD say John Egbert, but I’m being rehabilitated on that. My distaste for him as an RP character is complicated but being improved slowly.
Other than that, abusive Bros and drunk characters. See: My RULES.
☢ Are there any ships that you would like to write for one day? Any that you wouldn't?
Check the shipping wall. If it’s on there as a ship I like, I want to rp it at some point. If it’s on there as a NOTP then I DON’T want to rp it.
☣ What's one thing that will make you drop a thread?
Intentionally? People bringing up alcohol in the thread. It makes me feel sick.
♨ What's a muse that you wished had lasted, but didn't?
Never really lost a muse? The only reason I’m not on Jake or Dave anymore is cause I’m Karkat on two devices and the tablet I use is pretty spazzy on tumblr.
❀ Do you like reblog karma? Why or why not?
?? I mean I hate the posts that are like “IF YOU DON’T REBLOG THIS I’M JUDGING YOU AND WANT YOU TO UNFOLLOW”. Like, no matter what the post is about, if it’s on there, I try to avoid reblogging it. I reblog the little “reblog for money” posts for fun.
✿ Do you have a mun FC? If so why did you choose that as your FC, and if not who would you choose?
Yup! Leo Baskerville. Pandora Hearts is one of my favorite mangas ever (we don’t speak of the anime), and leo was one of my favorite characters. Elliot was my all time favorite, but I have more visually in common with Leo. And personality wise I have more in common with him too.
♪♩♫ Does music inspire your muse? What's one song on your playlist that reminds you of your muse?
It doesn’t really inspire me?
✂ Do you like to format your posts? Why or why not?
I don’t think I format them?
✆ Other than RPing, what's a hobby of yours?
Watching anime, sewing, eating, sleeping, playing with my cats, getting on my cosplay blogs (tho its been a few months since ive been on but i have my reasons).
✉ Do you RP on any other platforms?
Yup. Skype, Kik, and email. If you ever want to contact me on those for rps, hmu.
❤ Have you or are you currently in love?
Currently. I can’t gush about my wife enough. @radicalangelique
❥ Has something ever happened for you to hate a ship? Why?
YUP. Same reason I dislike John as an RP character (which, again, I’m working on. @embellishedbookworm ’s John is a huge relief for me and helping me work on that.
ツ Who has been your favorite muse to play so far? Why?
Dave or Karkat. (sorry at my jake). I can relate more to them and they come more easy for me (except that stupid strider ramble. i can’t copy that at aaaaaaaall.
回 Which muse was the worst to play? Why?
I tried to rp Sleepy Ash from Servamp. He wasn’t the worst in any sense aside from the fact he had 5 followers, 2 of which were porn bots. :/ I had him up for months and nothing happened. So I deleted him.
✘ People come in a group. If I were to look on your blog, who would I see you interacting with the most?
Probably mostly the wife, my son, bookworm john, gabriel. Maybe a few more? I don’t know.
ღ Do you have a personal blog? Do you share it with your followers or do you keep it private?
I DID? I sorta still do, but I haven’t been on it in a while. I originally did share it with the public, but I now have to worry about my sister and her friends harassing me once they figure out who I am so... I only give it out to people who really want it?
▼ Do you keep your character in character even if they are one of the worst people in the world?
I try to stick pretty in character? It’s why I sadly don’t rp Gamzee. I WANT to, but I would be almost too obligated to do the typical (if not incorrect) “evil” gamzee. I really hate that idea of him.
▽ Why did you create this muse?
I wanted to join this au and I like rping Karkat. At first I was going to do something else entirely with him, but the way I have him now ended up working out.

———————————————————————–
Will Cipher; Dream demon. - Creature № 326
Form: Triangle Powers: Age: Trillions of years old Twin: Older Origins: Flat Land - Dimension Destroyed
rational and almost emotionless, really calm, logical, strict and impartial. His sense for emotions, opinions etc is only really low and therefore almost unnoticeable.
So he wouldn’t even see any reason to lie to a person, to differ things in their value or to gain any desires.
Just like Bill he would make deals in the same ways but just as said, there's nothing that he would want to have (or nobody could give him..)
Unlike his opposite, William would strictly adhere to the rules when it comes to a deal. So right before the handshake he would
name all exact facts and agreements of the contract and would accept only if everything is cleared.
But in case of a breach - no matter from which side - there wil be some consequences: The whole contract will get void
and everything that was obtained during the time of the deal will vanish completely. No matter if anything material or even gained knowledge.
William has generally the same knowledge and powers like Bill.
Every knowledge or power that one of them could aquire is also available for the other.
But that state of knowledge or abilities could differ by now. Simply because one of them has his priorities
about “useful” and “useless” stuff while the other one makes no difference and rather tries to know optimally everything.
———————————————————————–
his flames are yellow in contrast to Bills blue ones
Both of them would actually be able to masqurade as the other one but the disguise would fall apart when it comes to a deal because the flame can’t get imitaded (headcanon)
His bodylanguadge is always rather calm and modest
His voice is rather deep and always accompanied with an echoing whisper
I think that William could understand the human psyche, biology and body functions more than Bill does, simply because he studied them more while Bill only picks himself the useful facts
You could say that he’s kind of a sociopath. He simply doesn’t see any reason in “emphatizing” with any creature.
While Bill despise him for that boring and suspending strictness, William can’t understand his sadistic and selfcentered behaviour.
Sarcasm is one of those things that can confuse him every time even if he understands its purpose
He has no sense of phantasie or imagination. So asking him to design something or to “free style” is pretty useless
During a deal he will do anything needed to completely fulfill his duties for the settlement. So his actions might seem a little
off sometimes and could lead to misunderstandings, for example being almost affectionate to his deal partner or being quite submissive
He got his similar look from a direct reference to Bill since he wasn’t able to come up with something on his own. And he only
choose this appearance when he had to approach to others, otherwise he wouldn’t see any sense in it
While speaking he wouldn’t ramble like “Uuhh..” or “Err..” whenever he has to think about or remember something.
Instead he would just keep quiet and stare into the emptiness.
He’s not used to use any commonplace phrases like “thank you”, “sorry” or “please”.
Not because he wouldn’t be polite enough but courtesy is a thing that got etablished between humans or at least social creatures.
So it will sometimes sound compelled or tardy
Plus he doesn’t curse or swear. Not even a simple “My god”. The utmost thing he would say is “geez” or “Oh my”
Probably he wouldn't take any attacks personal even if they are. He would just defend himself if needed and that’s it
He has no sense for shame or honor so he wouldn’t feel embarrassment.
No matter if it’s about his own actions or about the secrets of someone else..
Whenever he speaks to a person he would always float on eye level with his counterpart
———————————————————————–
Dillam (OC - Flatlander) Dream Demon in training.
Form: Triangle
Abilities: If they manage to control their powers then they should have all the powers a dream demon had - Apportation, Clairvoyance, Cross-Dimensional Awareness, Illusion manipulation, Intangibility, Innate Capability, Nigh Omnipotence, Laser Manipulation,Levitation, Molecular Manipulation, Nightmare Inducement,Possession,Precognition,Pyrokinesis,Size shifting,Telekinesis, Telepathy
Age: Unknown - equivelent to an 8 year old child Twin: non. Origins: Flat Land - Dimension Destroyed - managed to escape. Gender: Agender / non-binary - They/them
is Shy when first meeting new people, not very happy, lonely, misses mother and father, feels insignificant, cant seem to get firm controle of their powers. Their powers are rather violent and combusive. They are also angry at the Multiverse. They are also manipulative.
Weaknesses: Kindness.
Other names: Dill, Dee, Tiny.
Relatives: parents Dead, Siblings dead.
Home: two-dimensional dimension (formerly) - FlatLand, NIGHTMARE REALM, Mindscape
Goal: To Get proper controle of their powers.
Likes: Nice people, Helping others, candy and chocolate, stuffed toys. Things going their way, Nightvale, Roses.
Dislikes: Loud noises, Circles, Unfair treatment of others, deals being broken, things not going their way.
People should be careful around Dilliam.
They may be the most kind demon anyone meets and they may want to help others…
But they’re still a demon.
They may ask for your friendship in exchange for food/never starving, but they will use that to their advantage. They will then ask you to do something - because ‘friends help friends’ and if you say no, they will manipulate you.
They will accuse you of not being a true friend and that will break the deal…
So if you are a starving homeless kid, you will be in danger of loosing your food supply and of going back to stealing… so yeah…
Be careful of the sly purple one.
#muses#update#Ford is my main muse#i love him#i think i am him lol#im actually nicknamed sixer XD#never mind my thing for a dorito#im ace so i dont want to **** the dorito....#i just like him#is it still straight if you like all male no matter if its alien or human or triangle/non-binary?

The universe of Injustice. Chronicles of the war super heroes DC
| Pre-order |
Injustice: Gods Among Us can not be called an ideal fighting game. The balance in it leaves much to be desired, which is bad for a competitive genre. But, firstly, it does not prevent the game from brilliantly entertaining friends' companies at parties. And secondly, a famously twisted plot became the basis for a new full-fledged universe within the comic books of DC.
Developers from NetherRealm Studios wrote the story together with the leading writers of DC Comics. The task was not an easy one - it was required to explain how the heroes came to life so that they beat the muzzles not only to the villains, but to each other, and at the same time to give the heroes without a superpower a chance to survive in fights with the Titans like Superman. At the same time, it was necessary to "break nothing" in the characters of the heroes loved by millions and make a story worthy of the cult universe from the events of the game. Just.
youtube
The publishers' bosses gave Ed Boon and the company a whole parallel reality, where all the events of the game take place, and at the same time released a separate line of comics: she substantiated and supplemented many events of Gods Among Us. The world of Injustice has become truly popular among geeks and gamers, so DC continues to expand it to this day. Now they are releasing the third series on motives.
On the eve of the release of Injustice 2, we will briefly tell you what happened to your favorite superheroes and supervillains in the four years of the parallel universe.
The cover of the first volume of the comic book collection (contains half of Year One).
First year. Change of priorities
Five years before the events of Injustice, the Joker suddenly realized that every time losing Batman is no longer fun, and chose a new goal for his sadistic jokes - Superman. The evil clown kidnapped his pregnant wife Lois Lane and connected to her heart the detonator of the atomic bomb laid in the very center of Metropolis.
When the Steel Man flew in to save his beloved, the Joker used a mixture of a toxin of fear with kryptonite to cause frightening hallucinations. In delirium Superman saw in front of him not Lois, and his sworn enemy, Doomsday, and entered into battle with him.
At the last moment, the Kryptonian realized that before him was not a huge monster, but his own wife, but it was already late - Lois died, and at the same instant a nuclear explosion exploded. Millions of residents of the city, who Superman vowed to protect, died with Clark Kent's beloved woman.
By personally destroying everything that was dear to him, Superman renounced his earthly personality and human moral standards. For the first time in his life he went on a murder - he tore the heart out of the Joker's chest. After that, the last son of Krypton vowed to eradicate crime on Earth, began to build a new world order, and in this he supported the greater part of the Justice League. They overthrew dishonest governments, stopped wars, and Superman sometimes killed someone for the sake of everyone's good.
In between the acts of planting the world around the world, the tyrant, along with Lex Luthor (and he, of course, survived during the undermining of Metropolis) developed a super-tablet on Krypton technology. The average person could take the drug and at the time get super-strength and super-strength Superman. So the former hero planned to create an army that would support a new world order.
As is usual in DC stories, if Superman flies, a dubious honor to solve the problem falls to Batman. So in Injustice. Knight of the night tried to dissuade Superman from radical actions, and when the persuasion did not work, he organized a resistance team. In the detachment there were disagreed with the radical course heroes from the League of Justice and some not the most law-abiding inhabitants of the DC universe.
The conflict erupted swiftly. The first victim was Knighting (Dick Grayson, adopted son of Batman), he was accidentally killed by Robin (Damien Wayne, Batman's own son). In less than a minute Bruce lost both sons - Robin supported Superman to the end in this war.
A brief history of Damien Wayne by Dr. Harlin Quinzel.
Both sides began to invent ways to ruin each other's lives. Batman kidnapped Orlitz and sent the Martian Hunter in her guise to spy on Superman. He hacked Cyborg and a companion of the Justice League, and stole one of the super-tablets and copied the technology of its production. This allowed the rebels to equalize the chances in battle with super-strong enemies, and the writers - to justify the fact that characters without abilities, like Harley Quinn, can stand more than two seconds against Shazam or Sinestro.
Superman did not lag behind: he revealed the identity of Batman to the whole world, burnt the Martian Hunter alive, killed the Green Arrow, broke the spine of the defender Gotham himself, and in a couple of minutes finished off several thousand invaders from the army of Galactic dictator Darkseid, including his son Kalibak.
The common people at first supported Superman and rejoiced at the sharply subdued crime, but the further, the more people realized that the new ruler of the world was just another tyrant.
Year two. On a dark night ...
Opponents of the new regime were on the brink of defeat. Batman spent most of the year lying with a broken spine in the Faith Tower. The Black Canary was also out of order - not only was Superman killed her husband (Green Arrow), so she would have to raise a newborn son alone.
But there was a small success - the rebels were able to immerse the Wonder Woman for a year in a magical coma, depriving Superman of his main support. And it turned out that Lex Luthor was the secret agent of Batman from the very beginning. It was he who supplied Bruce Wayne with supertablets and gave him information about the plans of the enemy.
As they say, the enemy of my enemy is mine... Well, no, no one in their right mind will call Lex Luthor.
Superman continued to change the world in his own way. The "earthly" stage of the conflict unfolded in Gotham, where the first detachments of people were sent on supertablets. Because of this, Commissioner Gordon and all the police actually lost their jobs (and Gordon also had cancer in the final stage). The former guards of order sided with Batman, received a portion of super-tablets and started a war with the detachments of the new regime.
But the main battle began in space, between Superman and the corps of the Green Lanterns. The Guardians of the Universe (the corps leaders) learned about the illegal actions of Superman and flew to Earth to deal with the problem. But before they were in place was Sinestro. He wore into the confidence of the Kryptonian and frustrated his negotiations with the Guardians. And when the advanced Green Lantern detachment came to Earth to capture Superman for interrogation, Sinestro again intervened and stopped them with the help of the Yellow Lantern Corps.
That there is your "Game of Thrones" - in Injustice cult heroes die like flies.
In response to the aggression of the Sentinels, they organized a full-scale attack on Earth, involving half the corps of the Green Lanterns, the Guardian of the Hanset Universe and even the living planet of Mogo. With a single volley of green energy, Mogo destroyed a quarter of the building of Sinestro, forcing the army of Superman to retreat to Earth. There, the attack was joined by pro-Batman supporters pumped by supertablets. Together, they captured Flash, Cyborg, Robin, and other Superman supporters and hid them in the Faith Tower, but there was a loss. Died Commissioner Gordon - it turned out that the super-tablets dramatically accelerated the development of a cancerous tumor.
Meanwhile, Cinestro earned the achievement "Green Lantern from the Earth? I have not heard. " For a couple of weeks, he reduced the number of Green Lanterns from Earth from four to zero. We bend our fingers: gave Hal Halen the Yellow Ring, as soon as the Sentinels of the Universe stripped him of the Green Ring for supporting the rebellious Superman - once. Kill Kyle Rainer and John Stewart - two and three. He threw Stuart's death on Guy Gardner, and Hal, who had just taken the Yellow Ring in a rage, tore Guy into pieces - four.
In short, Cinestro, as usual, is still a scumbag.
Who wants to personally strangle Cinestro for his meanness - get in line.
Simultaneously with Hal, the Yellow Ring received Superman. This moment was broadcast live on the whole planet. But if the Green rings work on willpower, then the Yellow feed on fear. And the fear of billions of inhabitants of the Earth gave Superman such strength that he destroyed both the living planet of Mogo, the Guardian of the Hanset Universe, and a few hundred Green Lanterns, and the others captured.
The share of the positive in the finale of the "second year", introduced by Dr. Faith. He rescued the Black Canary from the imminent death and transferred it with his newborn son to another alternative universe, where he left on the threshold of the Green Arrow house, whose wife in this universe died several years ago. Though someone has a happy ending.
As if Superman without a ring is not enough scary.
The third year. It's a kind of magic
The battle with the Green Lanterns ended in the complete failure of the "good guys". By the beginning of the third year, the Earth finally passed under the control of Superman. But he did not think to stop. Now the tyrant lived another purpose: to catch and call to account Batman, who with more and more accusations was increasingly blamed for all his troubles.
A miracle woman woke up after an almost year-old coma. Finding Superman in the company of Cinestro and with the Yellow Ring on her finger, she came in such a rage that Cinestro sensibly received on the head, and the Kryptonian without resistance refused the power of the Yellow Lanterns. But, in spite of common features, the Yellow Ring does not look like the Ring of All-Power from another famous universe, so after his loss, Superman did not become kinder.
The last who still dared to challenge Superman were the members of the Batman team. The dark knight cured a broken spine and realized that in the physical world he could not be defeated. So he decided to move the battle into the world of magic, made alliances with Dr. Feith, Entangled, demon Etrigan, John Constantine and other magicians.
Constantine, as usual, did not want to spit for the whole of this world war, and all of that pursued only his own personal goals. In fact, the whole "third year" is a story about how, for the sake of saving a daughter and freeing one's own soul, an English prodhide-man pushed his foreheads against all opposing forces and emerged from the water.
If John Constantine something expensive, then for the sake of it he will sell the whole world to the devil and not even choke with tobacco smoke.
Again there were sacrifices. The Swamp Creature literally dragged itself into hell, the Huntress died and a couple of dozen less well-known characters. Even Dr. Faith briefly left this world. But Constantine, by the corpses reaching his goal, disappeared in an unknown direction, not forgetting to take his daughter with him. Though someone has a happy end 2.0.
When, because of the battles of two powerful demons, the very reality begins to collapse, the heroes have to forget about the enmity and for a while to unite.
Fourth year. OMG what a man!
Superman completely subjugated the Earth, but began to withdraw even from his allies. Batman after the death of so many friends, too, became completely unsociable, retired to the hermits and even promised the dictator that he would no longer fight. And then I made a deal with Ares. Because he's bloody Batman. But Batman does not give up.
Ares cunningly forced the gods of Olympus to invade Earth. Celestials came to this world and put forward an ultimatum: first, Superman should give up power and pass it to Zeus, and secondly, on Earth, the only true religion - of course, the ancient Greek paganism.
The invasion began with an epic fight to the death between the Wonder Woman and Superman (daughter of Zeus she, or who, let her protect the honor of the papule forcibly!). Kryptonets lost. But before Diana could kill him, all the heroes of the Earth and the Old Gods entered the battle. The Earthlings were defeated, and Superman had to dissolve the Justice League and hand over the Earth to Zeus, and he immediately began tyrannizing the earthlings for wrong faith.
When your boss kills Hercules, the demigod and the son of Zeus, in front of the pope...
In the meantime, the characters learned that Ares had organized the invasion not to help Batman, but to arrange general chaos and give Zeus over the head for childish offenses. In addition to the capture of the Earth by the thunderer, the program included: the revolt of Poseidon against Zeus, the war of the Old Gods with the troops of Aquamen, the mutiny of earthly governments with the use of nuclear warheads and the final chord - the advent of the army of Darkseid. Darkside immediately agreed to the conditions of the god of war in exchange for the right to torture forever Superman, who killed his son.
"I also found the god of war."
Ares' plan was almost successful. But Superman knew in advance about the advent of Darkseid, flew to Apokolips and nearly tore off his head. Batman was transferred to the New Genesis and persuaded the Supreme Father of the New Gods to stop Zeus.
As a result, Zeus agreed to leave Earth for good, the Old Gods left, and Superman returned to power. He brutally punished governments who dared not fulfill his disarmament order and used nuclear weapons. In the end, the former hero officially took all power on the planet in his own hands and called himself the Supreme Chancellor of the United Earth.
Year five. And nobody was...
In the last "pre-game" year, Superman finally got stuck on a comprehensive control. He started working with criminals like Bane and Killer Frost and killed two hundred or more people because they shouted anti-regime slogans and called themselves "Joker Resistance".
Then on the Earth was Doomsday (already real, not illusory), but Superman defeated him and with Lex's help "reprogrammed" into his personal toy. After Bizarro appeared, the creation of Lex Luthor, the weak-minded double of the Man of Steel. He was the dictator and dumped the murders of innocent people. But the militia learned the truth, after which even the allies began to openly question their leader.
For Batman, however, it was a very dark time. Most of the resistance either already perished, or refused to openly speak out against Superman. Then (presumably) on the orders of the world ruler, one of the "accidentally" evaders escaped from prison killed Alfred, the butler of the Wayne family. The dark knight realized that it was time to radically change the rules of the game.
Mass executions are necessary to maintain the image of the popular supreme ruler of the planet.
Together with Lex, they decided to bring members of the Justice League from Earth-1 into this universe. With their help, Batman wanted to open a safe with kryptonite weapons, once created by himself in case Superman threatened the Earth. But for the opening of the depository, the genetic data of five members of the Justice League was required. And one of them was already dead, while the others supported the regime.
Batman's plan was a success: Wonder Woman, Hal Jordan, Aquaman and Green Arrow got from Earth-1 into the world of Injustice, taking with them Batman and Joker. The final issues of the "fifth year" are synchronized with the beginning of the game. We were shown the same events that we saw in the first rolls of the story campaign, sometimes - on behalf of other characters.
Dr. Quinzel, do you want to talk about this?
Even after the circle was closed and the entire history of the civil war between the heroes was told, the publishing house DC did not want to part with the Injustice universe. Almost immediately after the finale of "The Fifth Year", a series of Ground Zero began to appear, where it was told ... Yes about the same. Only from the position of Harley Quinn.
It turns out that as long as the powerful of this world figured out the relationship and arranged for five genocides for the release, the mad comedian understood her feelings for the Joker, and incidentally arranged chaos. As it turned out, the beauty was a witness or a participant in all the key events of the world of Injustice. Nothing critical is not happening in this series, but to get acquainted with the alternative point of view it will be interesting for all the fans of the most romantic couple of Gotham.
Harley Quinn - the last bastion of irony and humor in this serious to the teeth of the grinding world.
A series of comics on the second game is already out. And what is happening in it is intriguing.
The Injustice universe has successfully emerged from the framework of the game series, turning into a full-fledged and popular offshoot of the DC universe. Dramatic plot twists, bold scenarios and bright episodes are not at all what you expect from a by-product, which, it would seem, should only attract the public's attention to the game. We look forward to the development of events and on the pages of comics, and on the screens of monitors.

Over the decades, DC movies have struggled to find the same box office enthusiasm as Marvel. Part of the issue is that DC has trouble bringing its comics to the screen without changing them. “The Dark Knight Trilogy” was a huge success, but it took Batman out of a comic book world for a more realistic setting. Gone were the colorful costumes and eccentric villains.
While fans might argue over the quality of the movies, it seems like almost everyone can agree that the DC Animated Universe (DCAU) was great. Beginning with “Batman: The Animated Series” in 1992, and continuing all the way up to “Justice League Unlimited” in 2006, these cartoons captivated kids and adults at the same time. Here are 15 times that the DCAU was better than the DC movies.
15. IN BRIGHTEST DAY
Warner Brothers’ 2011 “Green Lantern” didn’t connect with fans in the way the studio was hoping. There were many complaints about the overuse of CGI, the confusing and overstuffed plot, and too many villains. Ryan Reynolds starred as Hal Jordan, a hotshot pilot who is drafted into the Green Lantern Corps because he can overcome fear. Jordan must deal with training to be a lantern under Sinestro, while also stopping the psychic Hector Hammond, on top of preventing Parallax from destroying the Earth.
Green Lantern’s origin was adapted into an episode of “Superman: The Animated Series,” titled “In Brightest Day” (1999). Here, Kyle Rayner, an artist for the Daily Planet, gets the ring, although his origin and design are based on Hal Jordan’s. The story is much simpler, with Rayner obtaining the ring and then having to learn to use his powers while Sinestro tries to destroy him and the ring. Superman is there to protect Rayner, and the episode does a much better job of introducing the Green Lantern mythos in 22 minutes than the movie did in almost two hours.
14. THE DOOMSDAY SANCTION
Doomsday is notorious for killing Superman in “Superman” #75 (1993) by Dan Jurgens, and for being shoehorned into the last act of “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” (2016). Created when Lex Luthor combines his blood with General Zod’s body in a Kryptonian genesis chamber, Doomsday shows up for a quick fight that rushes through the death of Superman arc, killing off the beast only a few scenes after he’s introduced.
Doomsday is treated with more respect in the “Justice League” cartoon, especially in the episode “The Doomsday Sanction” (2005). Here it is revealed that Doomsday is actually a failed clone of Superman, created by Project CADMUS, in an attempt to create a weapon to use against meta humans. Doomsday breaks out, and chases after Superman, as he was programmed to do. While Superman doesn’t die in this story and his origins are drastically changed from the comics, Doomsday gives him a run for his money in a hugely entertaining fracas. After trapping the monster in lava, Superman tries to reason with him, to which Doomsday coldly responds that he’ll get free and continue trying to kill Superman, no matter what.
13. MAD LOVE
The most noteworthy addition to the Batman mythology from “Batman: The Animated Series” was definitely Harley Quinn. She made her big screen debut in “Suicide Squad” (2016), where she’s depicted as the Joker’s insane girlfriend. In the film, her origin shows her as a therapist in Arkham Asylum, who escapes and is then forcibly given electric shock treatment by the Joker. He then gives her the same chemical bath that turned him into the Clown Prince of Crime.
Harley’s cartoon origin was first explored in the episode “Mad Love” (1999), which was adapted into a comic within the show’s tie-in series. This shows a similar origin as the movie, although it dives deeper into Harley’s relationship with the Joker. As she tries to treat him after each arrest, she begins to see him as a victim. He’s actually manipulating her into helping him, but she was genuinely falling in love. This version of the story is much more tragic, painting Harley as a sad, conflicted character caught in an abusive relationship.
12. HEART OF ICE
One of the most unforgivable casting mistakes ever committed was hiring Arnold Schwarzenegger to play Mr Freeze in “Batman and Robin” (1997). His Mr Freeze was a former scientist/Olympic athlete who was caught in an accident while experimenting on his cryogenically frozen wife. He has to wear a special suit to keep his body at sub zero temperatures, which also powers his freeze gun. He also loves ice themed puns and apparently makes his henchmen sing and dance while hanging out in his hideout.
This characterization was actually based on the Emmy award winning “Heart of Ice” (1992), from “Batman: The Animated Series.” Surprisingly less cartoony than the live action version, Victor Freeze is seeking revenge for the death of his cryogenically frozen, terminally ill wife, caused during the same accident that turned him cold. This Freeze has no time for jokes, and is too grief stricken to feel emotions anymore. His skin is frozen, but his heart is ice.
11. AMANDA WALLER
Throughout “Justice League Unlimited,” Amanda Waller appears as the head of the secretive Project Cadmus. After an incident involving the evil version of the Justice League, known as the Justice Lords, Waller didn’t trust any of the metahumans. Cadmus was dedicated to coming up with ways of keeping them in line, including the creation of Doomsday. This version of Waller, although not super powered in anyway, was one of the most intimidating characters on the show, and even stood up to Batman.
She was even responsible for the birth of Terry McGinnis, who turned out to be a the genetic son of Bruce Wayne. Waller manipulated the events leading up to his birth, and even attempted to have his parents killed, just so she could replicate Batman. Her appearance in “Green Lantern” (2011), however, was less impressive, where she appears as a scientist working for the government. “Suicide Squad” (2016) introduced a revamped version of Waller, although her inability to control the Enchantress, despite having her heart, made her look a lot less intimidating.
10. ON LEATHER WINGS
While Christopher Nolan’s “Dark Knight Trilogy” is generally beloved by fans, Christian Bale’s Batman voice is one of the few missteps that irked audiences. Whenever Bale put on the cape and cowl, he stopped talking like a normal person and growled like an angry animal. One of the most over-the-top moments in the entire trilogy is in “Batman Begins” (2005) when Batman intimidates a crook cop by dangling him upside down and growling gravelly in his face.
Kevin Conroy voiced Batman in “Batman: The Animated Series” and found the best balance between Bruce Wayne’s voice and Batman’s. The best example of this is shown in the episode “On Leather Wings” (1992). While investigating Man Bat, Batman makes a phone call to a bat expert as Bruce Wayne. Within the same scene, Conroy switches between Batman and Bruce Wayne, who sound almost like two completely different people. Bruce is higher toned and more playful, while Batman is deep and serious. It’s much more impressive than growling.
9. OFF BALANCE
“Batman Begins” (2005) introduced a modernized take on Ra’s al Ghul, focusing on his leadership of the League of Shadows and ignoring his life restoring Lazarus Pits. His daughter, Talia, was introduced in “The Dark Knight Rises” (2012) with less success. After meeting Bruce Wayne under the guise of Miranda Tate, Talia seduces him and secretly helps orchestrate his downfall, along with Gotham’s. The relationship, however, was brief and Batman seemed to have much more chemistry with Catwoman. When Talia betrays him at the end, the moment isn’t as shocking or heartbreaking as it’s meant to be.
“Off Balance” (1992) also shows Batman meeting Talia while they’re both chasing after the villainous Count Vertigo. They work well together and seem to have a real connection, and Batman slowly begins to trust her. Ultimately, she’s only chasing Vertigo to retrieve the villain’s weapon for her father. She betrays Batman and steals the weapon for herself. When she tests it, however, it turns out Batman booby trapped it. Batman knew Talia better than she realized.
8. SECRET ORIGINS
While “Justice League” (2017) hasn’t been released yet, the ending of “Batman V Superman” (2016) made it clear what brings the heroes together. Batman and Wonder Woman join Superman to fight Doomsday, and based on Batman’s vision of a possible future, they believe that there are greater threats coming and they’ll need to band together. Also, while Bruce’s vision may have just been a dream, Lex Luthor also revealed he may have made contact with something from space and whatever it is that is coming. Basically, there’s a vague possibility of a threat.
The animated Justice League is brought together in “Secret Origins” (2001), the first episode of the series. When Batman and Superman discover a group of shape shifting aliens plotting to take over the Earth, they rescue Martian Manhunter and team up with the Flash, Hawkgirl, Green Lantern and Wonder Woman. Once the aliens are defeated, the heroes decide to keep working together, having naturally bonded in battle.
7. BANE
Tom Hardy’s Bane was an unusual take on the character. He had a vague backstory about being a mercenary, who was vaguely wounded and needed to wear a mask, and he had an accent that didn’t really tie him to any location. For the majority of “The Dark Knight Rises” (2013), Bane appears to be a ruthless mastermind, hellbent on not just destroying Gotham, but erasing all hope from the city. While he does break Batman, the finale reveals that Bane was just Talia al Ghul’s pawn, and he’s ultimately killed by Catwoman, as opposed to be truly defeated by Batman. The less said about the Bane in “Batman and Robin,” the better.
“Batman: The Animated Series” introduced Bane in an episode appropriately titled “Bane” (1994). Here, the villain is a Cuban assassin who uses a drug called venom to enhance his strength. He’s hired by Rupert Thorne to kill Batman, and at first seems like he might be the caped crusader’s match. After beating Batman down, however, Bane loses when Batman outsmarts him and takes advantage of his dependence on Venom. Bane’s defeat is much more meaningful, while still leaving his character intact. Nothing onscreen has yet matched Bane’s characterization in the comics, but at least the animated series came close.
6. TASK FORCE X (SUICIDE SQUAD)
Amanda Waller’s covert strike force was unveiled in the “Justice League Unlimited” episode “Task Force X” (2005). The team was comprised of criminals who, if they completed five years of service on the team, would be granted pardons. Waller assigns the team to infiltrate the Watchtower, the home base of the Justice League, to steal a weapon known as the Annihilator. Working together, the team is able to sneak aboard, steal the weapon and then fight their way out. It’s pretty darn great.
In the film “Suicide Squad” (2016), however, Task Force X is deployed to take down the Enchantress, who has attacked Midway City. The biggest flaw in the movie is that the majority of Task Force X is never fully utilized (or realized, really). Characters like Boomerang and Kitana are useful in a fight, but that’s about it; two examples in a list of many missed opportunities in the movie. Many members of the team could have been replaced with any random brawler and gotten the same results.
5. INJUSTICE FOR ALL
No matter what Superman did, he just couldn’t bring Lex Luthor down. That is, until the Justice League got involved. In “Injustice for All” (2002), Luthor is finally caught when Martian Manhunter poses as Superman and gets Lex to reveal his evil, while Batman and Green Lantern record the conversation. While that’s only the beginning of this particular episode, it proves how worthy an opponent Lex Luthor was. After years of causing trouble, he’s only caught when some of the Earth’s most powerful heroes team up.
This makes his downfall in “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” (2016) even more embarrassing. After tricking the titular heroes into fighting each other, Lex unleashes the Doomsday monster, only for it to be defeated. He’s immediately arrested, and ends the movie in a prison cell after having his hair forcibly shaved off. The worst part is that the world’s smartest supervillain’s plan was foiled because he didn’t realize that Batman and Superman both have mom’s named Martha. Rookie error, Lex.
4. THE LAST SON OF KRYPTON, PART 2
One of the biggest criticisms leveled against “Man of Steel” (2013) was Kevin Costner’s portrayal of Jonathan Kent. As a young Clark slowly realizes his powers, Jonathan comes across as an almost negative influence. He even suggests at one point that it might be better for Clark to have let a school bus full of kids drown than to expose his powers to the public. He’s clearly protective of the boy, but his worldview is incredibly dark and depressing; hardly the bastion of hope who inspires his adoptive son.
The second episode of “Superman: The Animated Series,” named “The Last Son of Krypton, Part 2” (1996), also deals with this time in Clark’s life. As his powers manifest and Clark begins to realize that he’s different, Jonathan Kent comes across as more nurturing and — get this — fatherly. He never yells at Clark for saving anybody, and when Clark flies for the first time, Jonathan greets him with a smile as opposed to a stern lecture telling him to hide his powers all the time.
3. ROBIN’S RECKONING
Based on the realistic tone, it seemed unlikely that Robin would ever appear in Christopher Nolan’s “Dark Knight Trilogy.” In “The Dark Knight Rises” (2012), however, Batman’s sidekick made an appearance, of sorts. Police officer John Blake figures out that Bruce Wayne is Batman, and spends the movie helping him. At the end of the movie, a seemingly dead Bruce Wayne leaves Blake his Batman gear and cave, and it’s revealed that Blake’s real name is Robin.
“Batman: The Animated Series also revamped Robin’s origin in the episode “Robin’s Reckoning” (1993). When Robin gets a lead on the gangster that killed his family, he goes on a manhunt. Batman tries to keep Robin from going down a dark path, and flashbacks reveal how Dick Grayson came under Bruce’s care and became Robin. The story dives deep into Batman and Robin’s relationship, and while it’s still farfetched that a grown man would bring a kid with him to fight crime, “Robin’s Reckoning” makes Robin’s pain and quest for vengeance seem real, along with his friendship with Batman.
2. WORLD’S FINEST, PART 1
In “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” (2016), Batman doesn’t trust Superman due to his extreme power levels and alien nature, and Superman wants to end Batman’s brutal vigilantism. With some prodding by Lex Luthor, the two icons face off in an epic, abandoned building-destroying fight that ends with a whimper when Superman reveals that they both have mothers named Martha. They then realize that Luthor manipulated them into fighting and team up.
The pair’s first meeting in the DC Animated Universe happened in the “Superman Animated Series” episode “World’s Finest.” When Joker gets his hands on some Kryptonite, he travels to Metropolis to help Lex Luthor kill Superman. Batman follows, and immediately clashes with Superman’s personality. After a brief altercation, Superman uses his X-ray vision to see under Batman’s mask. Thinking he has the upper hand, Superman tells Batman to leave Metropolis. He then returns home only to find a tiny bat-tracer on his cape. Batman waves from a nearby rooftop, having outsmarted Superman and learning his secret identity as well. Of course the two later team up, but it was how they got the measure of each other that far out-shined their movie outing.
1. TWO-FACE
Harvey Dent was the hero Gotham needed, until half his face got burned off in “The Dark Knight” (2008). He briefly becomes Two-Face, before being accidentally killed when he threatens Commissioner Gordon’s family and Batman intervenes. While it has a big impact on the plot, Two-Face’s story is actually relatively brief. Also, he never becomes a crook, as his main motivation is only to seek revenge on the crooked cops and gangsters who killed his fiancé.
His story is given more detail in “Two-Face” (1992) from “Batman: The Animated Series.” Here, Harvey has always struggled with an aggressive split personality, caused by his anger issues. When the mob causes half his face to be disfigured in an explosion, Harvey lets the angry personality take over. He also becomes dependent on his coin for every decision, where the movie version only uses it to decide who to kill. Batman actually beats Two-Face by throwing a pile of coins at him during one of his coin flips, confusing him and crippling his decision making process, as opposed to “The Dark Knight,” where Batman just tackles Two-Face off a building.
