[ 📹 Scenes of terror among Palestinian families who gathered by the thousands to receive food from a convoy of humanitarian aid on Al-Rashid street near Gaza City when Zionist tanks, armored vehicles and soldiers opened machine gun fire on the starving crowds of families, killing more than 100 and wounding hundreds of others in the latest Israeli atrocity.]

🇮🇱⚔️🇵🇸 🚀🏡💥🚑 🚨
DAY 146: TOTAL CASUALTIES IN ZIONIST GENOCIDE OF PALESTINIANS RISES ABOVE 100'000 AS HUNDREDS SHOT IN AL-RASHID STREET MASSACRE
On the 146th day of Israel's ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) committed a total of 9 new massacres of Palestinian families, resulting in the martyrdom of at least 81 Palestinians and wounding another 132 others over the previous 24-hours, not including hundreds shot in an overnight massacre on Al-Rashid street.
In another Zionist atrocity committed against the Palestinian people, thousands of starving Palestinian families gathered to receive food aid from the arrival of a convoy carrying humanitarian aid on Al-Rashid street, in the Sheikh Ajlin neighborhood, west of Gaza City, when the Zionist occupation army opened fire with machine guns from armored vehicles and Israeli soldiers on the crowds of people.
As a result of the Zionist army's random aggression on civilian families, at least 104 civilians were killed and another 760 wounded, which was not included in today's tally of Israeli massacres.
Medical teams from hospitals across northern Gaza continue to attempt to save the lives of the wounded, many of whom were shot with machine gun fire from occupation armored vehicles and soldiers, however limited capabilities of the hospitals, most of which are only partially functional, makes the saving of lives extremely difficult for more severe injuries.
The number of dead is expected to rise over the coming days as the severely wounded die from their injuries in under-equipped local hospitals.
The Al-Rashid street massacre will likely go down as one of the deadliest episodes in Israel's ongoing genocide of Palestinians families in the Gaza Strip.
At the same time, another hospital in Gaza has gone out of service. Reports say that Kamal Adwan Hospital, in the northern Gaza Strip, which was the last hospital operating in the area, has closed down due to running out of fuel for the hospital's generators, losing the ability to perform dialysis, internal medicine, operate the nursery, perform general surgeries or even perform children's emergency services.
Elsewhere, two children died at Al-Shifa Hospital in the northern Al-Rimal neighborhood of Gaza City, as a result of dehydration and malnutrition, raising the death toll from famine among children to six deaths over the previous 24-hours.
Simultaneously, occupation fighter jets bombed a residential neighborhood in the Nuseirat Refugee Camp, in the central Gaza Strip, leading to the deaths of at least 14 civilians and wounding dozens of others, while shortly afterwards, the Zionist army fired multiple missiles into the same neighborhood, also killing and wounding a number of Palestinian civilians.
At the same time, occupation aircraft bombed another civilian residence in the Al-Bureij Refugee Camp, in the central Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of four Palestinians.
In the southern Gaza Strip, occupation artillery shelling targeted the kidney department of the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Yunis, while outside the hospital, the corpses of 14 Palestinians were recovered over the last day from the Khan Yunis area, including the body of a martyr who was shot by occupation snipers in the vicinity of the Hayat School, near the hospital complex.
Similarly, in another Zionist crime, occupation warplanes bombed a group of civilians in the Asdaa neighborhood, northwest of Khan Yunis, in the south-central Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of six Palestinians.
Occupation air forces also bombed the village of Al-Qarara, also in the Khan Yunis governate, killing at least six civilians and wounding several others.
Meanwhile, a limited incursion into Rafah city by a pair of Merkava tanks and seven D9 armored bulldozers moved into the area near the Surfa landfill and began bulldozing the neighborhood.
Also in the Rafah area, local medical and civil defense crews managed to successfully recover the body of a female civilian, just two days after she was killed in a Zionist airstrike on her family home.
In the north of the Gaza Strip, occupation Merkava tanks and other armored vehicles continue to invade the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood of Gaza City, while occupation warplanes bombarded the Al-Barbari family home, dropping the building onto the heads of the family inside and resulting in the arrival of 11 dead and 39 wounded at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City.
Occupation aircraft also continue to bombard, with airstrikes and artillery fire, the city of Beit Lahia, in the northern Gaza Strip.
Local civil defense crews also managed to retrieve the corpses of 25 Palestinians who were crushed under the rubble of several inhabited homes that were bombed by occupation air forces in the central Gaza Strip.
Similarly, the bodies of five Palestinian civilians were transported to the European Gaza Hospital in the Al-Fukhari neighborhood of Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip, after intense Israeli shelling of the south and central areas of the enclave, while occupation gunfire and artillery shelling targeted anything that moves in the Al-Satar neighborhood and in the vicinity of the Nasser Medical Complex, also in the city of Khan Yunis.
As a result of Israel's genocide of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, ongoing since October 7th, 2023, the death toll has risen in excess of 30'035 killed, with another 70'457 wounded in occupation air, drone, missile and artillery strikes across the Palestinian enclave, bringing the total number of casualties above 100'000 officially for the first time.

Literally.
"The UN humanitarian office said that, between late April and June 2019, a total of 24 health facilities and 35 schools were hit by the Syrian government and Russian air raids and rocket fire on the Idlib region.[36] The coordinates of nine of those health facilities were shared with the UN, which passed them to Russia in an effort to protect them from being bombed and encourage some form of accountability for attacks. Instead, they also came under fire.[37][38] On 15 May 2019, Syrian government forces bombed the Tarmala Maternity and Children's Hospital in South Idlib, completely destroying the facility, which had served about 6,000 people a month. According to the Union of Medical Care and Relief Organizations, it was the 19th health-care facility bombed in Syria since 28 April.[39]
"Assembled a large body of evidence such as social media posts from Syria, interviews with witnesses, records from charities, Russian Air Force radio recordings, and plane-spotter logs, The New York Times reported that, within 12 hours from 5 to 6 May 2019, four hospitals in southern Idlib province were attacked and the bombings were traced and tied Russian pilots to each one, and the audio recordings featured Russian pilots confirming each bombing.[40] These hospitals were Nabad al Hayat Surgical Hospital, Kafr Nabl Surgical Hospital, Kafr Zita Cave Hospital, and Al Amal Orthopedic Hospital.[40]
"In October 2019, The New York Times published a story that proved that Russian forces deliberately bombed four hospitals in opposition-held Idlib province in May 2019.[41] Dr. Amani Ballour, a Syrian pediatrician, worked at a secret underground hospital in East Ghouta known as the Cave, said the hospital was bombed by Russian warplanes on 28 September 2015, killing three male nurses and injuring two female nurses.[41] Since 2016, the staffs did everything they could to shore up the infrastructure above and below ground so it could withstand bombings. During the final month of the Cave, the site was hit five or six times by barrel bombs.[42]
"In February 2020, Russian warplanes hit two hospitals, as well as residential areas, in the northern town of Darat Izza near the Turkish border, wounding civilians and forcing the medical facilities to close.[43] At this time, the World Health Organization (WHO) said that over half of the country's health facilities had been damaged or destroyed since the start of the civil war in 2011.[43]
"In May 2020, Amnesty International documented 18 attacks on civilian facilities, including medical facilities, by either the Syrian government or Russia between 5 May 2019 and 25 February 2020 in and adjoining the opposition stronghold in northwest Syria.[44] The report which contained 40 pages revealed thoroughly how the Syrian government forces intentionally attacked civilian facilities such as schools and hospitals.[44] Among the documented attacks were Russian air strikes near a hospital in the town of Ariha on 29 January that flattened at least two residential buildings and killed 11 civilians.[44]"

Skylight: Chapter 6
1.4k words. Hawks and an OC (Not Romantic!) Fluff with some angst, Found family sort of. Content Warnings: Cursing, isolation, mentions of abuse, blood-letting, let me know if I missed any
Summary: The heroes prepare to extract Seijin.
A/N: So, I've been sneaking in a little detail over the past several chapters, and this is where it finally pays off.
The stakeout was approved quickly due to the evidence Hawks had collected. Well, quickly as stakeouts went. It still took two weeks.
He warned the team of sidekicks not to make any noise, that the man they were looking for had extremely sensitive hearing. The first group didn’t listen. The car they were waiting in rocked as the man pulled into the driveway, and he immediately pulled out and kept driving. The sidekicks didn’t even get the license plate.
They tried again a week later with better results. They had parked slightly closer and gotten a license plate and a photo of the man’s face before he’d fled, the shutter of the camera giving them away. Still, a breadcrumb trail was a trail.
Within hours of his sidekicks getting him the information, he had a name and a file. Kobayashi Hayate, listed as a member of whatever bogus company owned the house since its founding seventeen years prior. His record was pristine, his quirk enhanced his hearing enough to hear a butterfly’s wing beat. He had a privately owned residence, and no complaints from neighbors. The car was registered under his name. Bank records showed regular payments coming in from the company every two weeks, right around the time he would drain the kid.
He checked the company finances too, hoping for something traceable to whoever the client was, but there was nothing. A cash deposit made hours before the transfer for the same amount. Whoever the client was, Hawks wasn’t going to be able to find them. But it was shady to say the least, even without one of the company’s founding members being tied to selling blood, likely through a black market contact somewhere.
Coupled with the information he’d gotten about Seijin, their confinement, the bloodletting, it was more than enough to not only get a warrant for his arrest, but to get other heroes on board with a collaboration. Mirko was one of the first to sign on, along with Edgeshot, Kamui Woods, Eraserhead, Nighteye’s work study student, Lemillion, and, of all people, Endeavor. He was probably just trying to boost his PR, but Keigo still felt honored, and more than a little giddy, that his favorite hero was teaming up with him on this as he started his presentation on what to do.
“Thank you for coming everyone. I’ll keep this as short as I can, since I’m sure you all have better places to be,” he started, glancing around the conference room to meet everyone’s eyes.
“This is Kobayashi Hayate, our target in the raid tomorrow. His quirk allows him to manipulate sound, increasing or decreasing it for up to five targets. He’s been holding a child in a home in the residential district in Fukuoka for an extended period. We don’t know precisely how long.
“The goal for tomorrow is to arrest Kobayashi for kidnapping, child abuse, and selling illegal substances, namely products of the human body. His pattern for approaching the house seems to be mostly random, so we’ll be waiting for him to arrive before we can do anything. Once he’s arrested, we can focus on the kid. Any questions so far?”
“Why not get the kid out of there before confronting Kobayashi? Wouldn’t it be safer if he isn’t able to use them as collateral?” Lemillion asked.
“Normally we would, but the kid isn’t going to leave. There’s a hole in the attic large enough for them to fit through and they have had multiple opportunities to escape over the months this investigation has been going on. Until they understand that Kobayashi is no longer a threat, they won’t leave willingly.”
“Then what’s the extraction plan?” Mirko asked.
“I’m going to drop into the room first. The kid hates noise, and you can bet that arresting Kobayashi is going to cause at least a stir. I’ll try and calm them down and mark areas on the floor that creak. No matter what, do not step on those areas. I’ll let you know when to bring Kobayashi up. From there, I should be able to convince the kid that he isn’t a threat and that it’s safe to leave. I want standby’s on the roof in case Kobayashi somehow gets out of hand.”
“You’re going to be the only one interacting with the kid?” This time from Eraserhead.
“Yes. I’ve built up some amount of rapport with them over the past seven months.”
“Why not have another hero with you to ensure they know they’re safe?”
“Because it won’t work. They don’t know what a hero is or does. They didn’t know what a quirk was until a few days ago. They won’t trust any random person that enters that attic. The only reason that I have to even suspect that I might be able to convince them to leave is that they know me.” Eraserhead nodded, and Hawks pulled files from his coat.
“If there’s nothing else, these should have relevant information collected that I didn’t go over, your position tomorrow, what to expect.”
“Hawks, sir?” It was Lemillion again, giving him a rather determined stare. “If you don’t mind me asking, what’s their name? You haven’t told us.” The whole room turned to Hawks as he took a breath.
“Seijin. Their name is Seijin.”
“You should’ve seen it, kid,” he said into the attic. “They all want to get you out of here too. You’re gonna be free come this time tomorrow, I promise.”
They were currently laying on a rafter above him. Ever since they’d found out what a quirk was, they kept asking to see cat videos. If they felt energetic, they’d morph a few parts of themselves, namely the tail and their hands. They were much quieter on cat feet, despite being nearly silent already, and they liked to jump around on the rafters even more. They’d run from box to rafter to rafter to floor to rafter again.
They let out the short, high pitched coo that he’d come to understand was their way of getting his attention. He supposed, to them, it was as close to a spoken name as they had for him. It was fair, since he’d given them a name too.
But they would need more than that. They’d need food and clothing and guidance. They’d need to go to a doctor to see if they could hear at all, get them hearing aids if they needed it. Would they even want them? They’d need a place to stay. He’d heard horror stories about people in the foster care system, and there was no way he would let the Commission take care of them after what they did to him.
He could always find someone. Probably another hero, one able to handle teaching the kid more sign language and their skittishness. One that knew how to keep quiet so they didn’t startle his kid too bad. It was hardly impossible, practically speaking.
But he wouldn’t see them again.
“Keigo, you are sad. What is wrong?”
“Not sad. Nervous.”
“Why?”
“I don’t know how to say it in sign. Sorry.” It was a half-truth, really. If he’d been able to just talk to his kid and have them understand, he might have still tried to get out of explaining it. How do you tell someone who’s been held captive so long that they’re about to be free? How could he convince them that it would be okay when they still squinted at the sunlight? How could he convince them to stay with him?
This wasn’t like any other rescue case he’d been on. He hadn’t been assigned this one, or just been passing by. He’d cared for this kid for months. He’d made sure they were warm in the winter, cared for them in the aftermath of their abuse, started learning sign language for them, lost who knew how many hours of sleep wondering and worrying about them, given them a name.
He couldn’t just walk away after all of that. He wanted- no, he needed to stay with his kid. Needed to provide for them, care for them, because no one else knew how to. No one else understood what his kid had been going through up here, he couldn’t trust anyone else with them.
Hang on. His kid? When had that happened?
…
Did it really matter?
He had plenty of extra room at his apartment, more than enough space for them. He’d be able to see them regularly, start introducing them to the world outside the attic. He could teach them to fly with their borrowed wings, what little he knew of cooking, how nice an actual bed felt after a long day. He could keep learning sign with them, help them unlearn all the fear they’d had ingrained into them, see the person they became outside of this dark, awful place.
Damn. It sounded nice. It sounded right.
#hawks#takami keigo#keigo takami#bnha#mha#oc#I tried to sprinkle in the whole “his kid” slowly#I wanted it to look like he didn't even realize how he'd started thinking of Seijin as his over the time he cared for them

The reason for the destruction of militants and their infrastructure in Idlib was the provocative actions of Hayat-Tahrir al-Sham
Russian Aerospace Forces and units of the Syrian Arab Army have been conducting a targeted operation over the past few days in response to a blatant terrorist attack on the village of Al-Malaja in the south of Idleb province. This was officially announced by the Ministry of Defense of the Syrian Arab Republic. The country's defense department emphasized that the terrorists, attacking residential areas and positions of the Syrian army and Russian troops assisting it, acted so brazenly as if they expected to remain unpunished, probably feeling some kind of support from the United States and other Western countries. However, no help came. For several days, careful monitoring of the situation was carried out using modern tracking and reconnaissance tools, including satellites, for the location, movement and concentration areas of terrorists, as well as their weapons and equipment. After this, massive precision strikes were carried out on the headquarters, fortifications and numerous warehouses with ammunition and weapons of the Syrian artillery, with the support of Russian aviation. As a result, a large number of terrorist headquarters, their operational and storage facilities with weapons, equipment, drones, communication devices, missile launchers and heavy artillery pieces were destroyed. 111 terrorists were killed and more than 80 were wounded, including the leaders and those who were directly involved in the attack on the village of Al-Malaja. Most of these militants were members of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and Ansar al-Tawhid. According to a source in Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, such serious losses among the militants caused panic. Many refuse to carry out the orders of the leadership, fearing that their actions will again become a reason for retaliatory strikes by the Syrian and Russian military, and some openly call for disobeying Julani, who is acting in the interests of the American intelligence services.

Editor's Note: The United States' killing of Ayman al-Zawahri, successor to Osama bin Laden as al-Qaida's leader, marks the end of an era for the jihadi group. Any new leader will take over an organization with grand aspirations but weak capacity, Daniel Byman writes. This piece originally appeared in Lawfare.
Ayman al-Zawahri, who led al-Qaida since Osama bin Laden’s death in 2011, is dead from a U.S. drone strike on a residential area in Kabul. Al-Zawahri’s death is an end of an era — he was an early member of al-Qaida and an active jihadi for decades before that. The al-Qaida he left behind endured despite an aggressive and devastating U.S. counterterrorism campaign, but it is also weak, with far less operational capacity and political influence than it had around the time of 9/11. A more charismatic and capable leader might revive al-Qaida, but he will face many difficulties in trying to revive the once-dominant jihadi organization, not least of which is a well-institutionalized U.S. and global counterterrorism apparatus.
Al-Zawahri’s performance as a jihadi elicited mixed reviews: some experts dubbed him a “mastermind” and others criticized his leadership skills (my position). Al-Zawahri did provide strategic direction to al-Qaida, helping keep it focused on the United States and the West, at least in rhetoric. As Asfandyar Mir argues, al-Zawahiri was able to keep a divided movement together under trying conditions. Al-Qaida also has a stronger presence in Africa than it did before 9/11 and otherwise continues to seek new areas for expansion. Finally, al-Zawahri’s presence in Kabul is yet another piece of evidence that the Taliban remain tied to al-Qaida and that Afghanistan should remain a top counterterrorism concern.
Yet, al-Zawahri’s death may actually be good news for al-Qaida, or, short of a boon to the organization, will likely have little impact given the group’s many existing problems. Al-Zawahri, in contrast to bin Laden, was pedantic and had little charisma. Under his watch, the core group had not conducted any spectacular terrorist attacks on the United States and Europe for many years despite a continued rhetorical focus on the West. Affiliates tied to the organization, such as al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), did inspire and perhaps orchestrate attacks, such as the military trainee from Saudi Arabia who killed three American sailors at a U.S. naval base in Florida in December 2019, but the core organization has not done a successful attack on the United States or Europe since the 2005 bombings in London. This may reflect operational weakness or simply a more pragmatic shift toward areas where its affiliates are most focused, but either way it is good news for the United States.
Most consequentially, al-Zawahri lost control of the jihadi movement as a whole. Al-Qaida seemed to rebound after the 2003 U.S. invasion of Iraq, when outrage at the United States and the collapse of government in Iraq led to the emergence of al-Qaida in Iraq, which quickly grabbed world headlines. Bin Laden and Zawahiri struggled to control al-Qaida in Iraq, which later changed its name to the Islamic State of Iraq. This problem exploded early in the Syrian civil war, the most important jihadi conflict of the time, when the Islamic State of Iraq rejected al-Zawahri’s leadership, changed its name to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, and for several years became the dominant force of jihadism in Syria, Iraq, and the world. Even the Syrian remnant that stayed loyal to al-Zawahiri as Hayat Tahrir al-Sham eventually split from al-Qaida.
Many jihadi groups today, even ones like AQAP that have the name “al-Qaida” in their title, are locally focused. They want to spread the jihadi cause to Yemen, the Maghreb, and other parts of the world, and they are deeply enmeshed in bitter civil wars in these areas. As such, they pose a danger to regional stability, and governments fighting them deserve assistance, but the risk to the U.S. homeland is far less than when bin Laden directed a more global movement.
The fact that the killing of al-Zawahri occurred in Kabul is both good and bad news for the U.S. government.
