The work of one of the few artists that still got some amount of well deserved attention in this the most prosaic of eras is being jeopardized and conveniently twisted, for the oldest of reasons. Despite of anything, his work is still brilliant.
Transcendence is what matters.
Long live art.
#I literally don't care by the way#only in the sense that this affects his legacy in this stupid “cancelation culture”#His work is still great even if those allegations are true#Which sound very cheap and Ill-intentioned by the way#Transcendence is what matters#It's the word itself#No I dont care if this offends others#I'm still watching the sandman when it comes out and I'm still reading his books#Long live art#Neil Gaiman#Has Neil Gaiman been exonerated yet? Your good omen post- yikes
I hope if anything that his victim went through happens to you, that you are treated which far more understanding, kindness and respect then you are treating them
And I hope no one disregards your humanity because they think that an abusers work is more important then it
Good Omens? Oh, it wasn't about Good Omens. It was about Gaiman's work as a whole, about the trascendence of Art and about the inanity of modern sanctimonious "cancel 《culture 》" and the hypocrisy, fear and cowardice it brings with it. And about witch hunting. (Related)
I also assume you're omniscient.
And thanks, but I need no patronizing. If I Hypothetically were in an affair of sorts with someone and I wouldn't like how he copulates, I i kind of... don't see him again? Don't work for him? Instead of bringing that up after years and when he oddly happens to be in the most famous point of his career, to ruin his work and contributions to literature and art out of spite.
I stand by my words.
Long live Art.
Trascendence is what fuels existence and it obviously outlives the fleeting triviality.
#Absinthe replies#Long live art#Has Neil Gaiman been exonerated yet? No? OK...*goes back to sleep *#I'm not even a great admirer of him and yet here we are: alone#I'm surely bringing something over myself with this... but oh well - nothing new#Neil Gaiman
