So...I got a Striker related theory...
Every time I watch the HB s2 episode Oops, this Striker scene near the end has been and always will be burned in the back of my brain.
Tumblr media
Just by looking at THIS screenshot in particular, you can tell one of two things going through this man's now unstable mind; knowing he screwed up big time and is about to die...or, the biggest theory of all that a lotta of us HB enthusiast and Striker simps have theorized SINCE the dawn of his introduction back in The Harvest Moon Festival...he's about to relive some trauma.
I do have a multitude of theories about everyone's favorite lil' cowboy from this side of the Wrath Ring, but this singular screenshot alone already speaks volumes. One of which is that he lost his family during sometime in his childhood and/or he was once a husband/father at one point in his life, and seeing how he despises royals (despite the fact he only worked for Stella to get to Stolas...probably to get to her next, but that's a theory for another time), he probably lost them during a fire a royal family set upon his homeland and now he's reliving the horrible memory all over again.
But for this post, I'm sticking with the one during his childhood. Again, seeing how he hates royals, bluebloods, anyone who's a part of the "rich life" or is a part of the royal families, etc. His family grew up with not much but managing to barely get by with what little they had.
Only managing to afford food, clothes, a home, etc. If his family were to have more money in the pockets, they'd save it for emergencies or celebrations like birthdays or other holidays. This would've made him a target for bullying by richer families add to the fact that he's also a hybrid. No, seriously, he's a hybrid. That aside...
I would also assume his family either worked for a royal family under contract or were put into slavery and he witnessed the treatment his parents and possible siblings received throughout his youth. Which would explain why he hates royal demons, overlords, and the like.
As for the fire...I theorized what happened was the following; his parents didn't have enough to buy for food or anything else, so, they made the riskiest decision by stealing from a royal family so they'd at least have enough for a meal, but ended up getting more so they could afford not just the necessities, but luxuries as well for their children.
That would end up being the biggest mistake of their lives. Once the royal family found out, they immediately attacked Striker's homeland, burning everything to the ground and destroying and harming the residents who lived there. Striker's parents and siblings getting the worst torment and torture of all. His parents told him to run and to not look back, but once he was far enough and he did look back...he was traumatized by seeing his family burning to death, no thanks to the noble demon taking his family away from him.
Maybe I'm looking too deep into this, but IT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE! His speech also signifies more from Western Energy!
Tumblr media
"Not every ring is some fancy-ass city. With some fancy-ass mansion, that only FANCY-ASS royals get to live in! Some of us have hard lives to live! And some of us, have EVERYTHING we care about taken away by fuckers like you!"
From his speech about royal demons to Stolas, his "deal" to Blitz from Harvest Moon Festival, and the screenshot before the explosion says a LOT about what happened to Striker! Now, whether or not we see an official flashback from the Spindle Horse crew or at least get some kinda backstory for Striker, it would make a lotta sense as to why he is the way he is!
Ngl...I feel so bad for him! I wanna take 'em home, wrap 'em up in a fluffy blanket, feed 'em ice cream, and hug and snuggle him until he has a good cry and feels better! Our little cowboy has suffered enough and needs some loves and DESERVES some kind of redemption arc! 😭😭😭

So I promised a background/minor character design appreciation post...
(Part one because this will likely get long)
Starting with the imps, due to the order in which characters of different species are presented on the wiki
Tumblr media
Ah, Pringles. Of course. What a guy. He is very shaped. (Especially the hair and collar. I happen to be a sucker for male characters with that kinda "cat fluff" hairstyle.) Love the weird little cuff on his tail, it's so unnecessary but it fits. Dapper boy. Gotta love him
(As far as I can recall he gets bitches in Ozzie's, which, like, good for him!)
Tumblr media
There's this kiddo from Loo Loo Land. I like her shapes as well, very exaggerated. As depicted here she kind of reminds me of some concept art girlies from the Art of Encanto book.
Actually, I think I have an image...
Tumblr media
...I'm not the only one who sees it, right?
(Anyway, it's still available for free to view online. Very interesting stuff.)
Tumblr media
Ahh... this guy. Or gal, actually. Turns out this is Skye Henwood's impsona, as well as my favorite character in Western Energy. Me and my friend were deadass ready to adopt her on sight. So tiny!! So shaped!! Look at that ridiculously huge bowtie. The littol suit. I want a pocket-sized imp now. Would carry them everywhere in my purse. Speaking of...
Tumblr media
That's exactly what she did! Another crewsona (Sam Miller), and this design is incredibly slay. The feathers. The tail. Big, flowy, swooping shapes. (Not a big fan of the hands, though.) Very majestic creature overall.
Tumblr media
Moving on to a few background Wrathians from Harvest Moon. She's a cutie. Not much else to be said. I like her outfit with the little boots and gloves as well as her pigtails.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think these two could be related.
Tumblr media
She looks so silly, I love her. Her hat and horns are disproportionately huge and it's precious.
Tumblr media
Her name is Square, and she has major resting bitch face energy. I appreciate her instantly. (Long sleeved shirt + short shorts is a good combo.)
Tumblr media
This guy from the Ozzie's elevator scene (Aspen) looks like he'd have quite the story to tell over a couple drinks of hard liquor. Slutty, but in a tired way. (A certain saxophonist cat from another piece of online media also fits that description.)
Tumblr media
HER!! I love her so much. Everything about her honestly. The colors!! The legs!! The underbite!! She has no official name, but I call her Pomegranate. Or Pom for short. Got some of my own lore for her and everything.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Haven't watched Queen Bee, so I didn't get to see Dennis in action, but from this still alone I conclude that he's pretty cute. (However dude could use to pull up his pants.) Didn't really deserve to get yelled at, anyhow. Justice for Dennis!
Though I do have an old Dennis character, and he's a dick, so maybe Blitzo was on to something.
I like the girlie on the right too. Women with :3 smiles automatically win me over. The ripped pants and loose tank top go well together, and the splotch of magenta on the waist isn't obnoxious.
Tumblr media
Mamma Mia, an imp with not purely and overwhelmingly red skin? What a spectacle. She looks way more like a black character than Velvette. And due to her subdued skin tone, the pink looks nice on her. (Which can't be said for Millie in one of the pieces of summer merch. Who thought pink on her was a good idea?!) Cool hair texture as well, feels very poofy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some bite-sized imp clowns from The Circus; their names are Eenie, Meenie, and Miney. How charming! Though, as I recall, doesn't that old children's rhyme go on to have four-
Tumblr media
...Oh.
Tumblr media
I think this might be Barbie Wire. We were never told explicitly, and she isn't even mentioned in the episode itself, but she looks closest to that design.
(Though I just noticed her horn stripes are too thick. Nevermind, then. Seems like she didn't even get that brief cameo in Blitzo's nearly episode-long childhood flashback despite being his twin sister, which should suggest that they were pretty close.)
Tumblr media
I like this chick, though.
And that's it for now! Let me know if you'd like to see a part two though I might just go ahead and make it anyway

hi! i was wondering if you had game recs for someone that has only played sims and stardew on pc! im the person and i want to start playing more stuff but i dont want to start with something too difficult i hope that makes sense 🐣 thank you and i hope you enjoy your weekend
hi nonners!! sure thing! a huge chunk of my childhood gaming was harvest moon and sims so let's see! my gaming tastes are very unified yet all over the place so don't take this as gospel and something you will For Sure enjoy! feel free to follow up if any game/genre piques your interest!
if you never did so, i would recommend giving the sims handheld games (namely, sims bustin' out, urbz, and sims 2 on the gba/ds). they're still in the universe of the sims so you take care of your lil sim/urb but they're adventure games where you're given tasks and progress through the story. the writing is silly but good, and the characters are fun, though the games may feel grindy at times. feel free to hit me up if you'd like, i can hook you up with them!
in the farming sim/resource manager sim, i can recommend you the harvest moon games, now story of seasons. story of seasons: a wonderful life just came out on the switch, and i think other platforms, and it is a remake of the iconic a wonderful life. just keep in mind that it might feel like a step down from just how much content is in stardew valley! there's also the rune factory series, my time at portia (and the upcoming my time at sandrock), ooblets, graveyard keeper, calico, and animal crossing. oh!! and kynseed. kynseed is lovely and it looks gorgeous and it is a life sim where you play as successive generations, with lots of fae elements. it can get a bit grindy but i've greatly enjoyed my time with it.
(and i just started wylde flowers since i got it on sale this week, and i've been really enjoyed it so far, but can't provide a full recommendation since i've had so little time with it)
if you enjoy the decorating part of the sims, i can recommend you the tenants. it's a game where you play as a landlord, decorate houses, find renters, and most importantly do renovation jobs for clients.
if you're in the mood for something sandbox-y, other than animal crossing i think that no man's sky could scratch that itch (you can fully customize options such as resource availability, combat difficulty, etc) and, of course the legend of zelda breath of the wild (and i can only assume tears of the kingdom, but i haven't started that one yet)
if you're wanting to dip your toes into different genres, such as rpgs, i can recommend you the elder scrolls series (especially skyrim is more streamlined and thus, more beginner friendly) and dragon age. both series have difficulty settings you can change as you feel more or less comfortable. if you're interested in party-based, turn-based rpgs, you can't go wrong with the final fantasy series, golden sun, and octopath traveler (which is a recent favorite that i wholeheartedly love, with the caveat that if someone is looking for a large, overarching story it is not the game that will provide that)
edit to add story-based games. there are many but i won't cite what maybe most people would recommend bc i either haven't played it or dislike it. i really enjoyed oxenfree, not tonight, road 96, and most importantly of all, kentucky route zero. my sibling adores the dreamfall chapters series and i really enjoy watching them play it! and my wife (a much more casual player than me but whom i love watching play and has great taste) loved playing strange horticulture, the sexy brutale, eastshade, and coffee talk (episodes 1 and 2)
please keep in mind there's some overlap between categories! and i think that most games will be approachable to beginners. nobody was born knowing how to play games and i find that most games do a good job of bringing players up to speed.
sorry for the long reply!! gaming is just a bit of a big interest for me since it's my preferred medium and i'm a rambler haha. as i said, feel free to hmu again on or off anon!! and hope u too are having a great weekend

Honestly, the new Helluva Boss episode was…not terrible, but I think had some misplaced priorities. Both in the characters and production-wise.
My big edit is that the A and B plots should’ve been flipped. I would’ve way rather had this serve as a big jumpstart to the no doubt long-standing conflict between Blizø and Barbie Wire. They didn’t even need to show what their big fight and split was all about — just some flashbacks to their closeness as kids, some stuff from the circus, and ideally a bit of an idea how Blitzø’s visits while Barbie was in rehab usually went.
So, yeah, that’s the big thing. Barbie and Blitz was the more interesting conflict with more narrative importance and should’ve been treated as such this episode.
The other big problem…for an episode that supposedly focused on Millie, it felt like way too much time was spent on Moxxie’s self pity and self consciousness. Obviously those problems have always been there for him and won’t disappear entirely overnight, but this was such a juvenile kind of frustration and jealousy that it felt pointless. Not to mention we have had that storyline before.
I think a much better approach would’ve been if Moxxie was seriously investigating the murder, and maybe getting way too into it and dramatizing it. Like, even with a clear suspect, Moxxie with his love of drama and theater might assume that Jimmy was being set up as a scape goat and keep looking for another suspect, or else try to also find a motive and any accomplices (which, also a neater way to tie Barbie back into that plot!).
Point being, don’t make Moxxie so obsessed with the approval of a bunch of teenagers and so butthurt that his wife is getting attention instead. If the goal is an M&M relationship conflict, that could’ve been done instead by having Millie frustrated that Moxxie drags out their mission for his own drama, or Moxxie feeling like Millie might blow their cover. Heck, why not have Moxxie be panicking over the viral attention Millie gets, since he and Blitzo got taken hostage/arrested by the government goons in season 1?
That’s a valid reason for him to not like that Millie is getting so much attention, in addition to the investigation maybe going awry. He’s worried that she’s gonna get them caught, this time by a government that’s better prepared to fight demons.
Millie’s part of the story I think mostly works fine. It could’ve used some more elaboration as to why she cares so much about getting positive attention — she felt like her family wasn’t satisfied with her current career? Competed for attention with many siblings and a busy farm all her childhood? There was also room for something compelling with how she liked being adored instead of feared, since we saw in the Harvest Moon Festival that she’s kinda shunned in her hometown for being so violent.
It’s just that Millie always has been self assured and confident, so the sudden need for validation felt out of left field. But overall it was a valid plot line and it worked as it was. I just think the AestheticsTM of the summer camp movie musical got way more emphasis than the actual plot of the show.
So, yeah. In this case it was some good ideas that were just sloppily executed. Far from my favorite episode, but I did still enjoy it — the new character designs (the dead camp counselor, Barbie in her demon and human forms, “Millerd and Moxxine”) were honestly good enough to forgive plenty of the plot boo boos.

Agree with your Harvest Moon post for the most part but I wouldn't say the game is "for children." It's for all ages, like Mario and Pokémon are, which is why most of the games do have something of a variety when it comes to marriage candidates ("younger" ones like Hiro or Luna and "older" like Klaus and Iris). Idk maybe you didn't mean it in the way of "It's for children SPECIFICALLY" but it came off a little like that.
That being said people think too long and hard about the marriage candidates and their "childish" designs. Like damn what if I just think (to use aforementioned Pierre as an example) Pierre and Chelsea look cute as a couple together lol it's not that deep. And if people don't like a certain candidate (for that or ant reason) they can just ignore them? Most of the games have pretty specific requirements for heart events that it's easy to avoid characters you don't wanna Romance so idk why people act like the games force you into romances or w/e.
!!! i definitely didn’t mean it that way ashsjsjd my bad if it came off as too firm😭 the games are totally for all ages, but the fact that kids are included in that demographic is a really big factor people need to consider, as opposed to a game like rune factory which is marketed at teen and above audiences. especially because a lot of people ARE introduced to the series in their childhood, i think people just in general tend to forget that there are a TON of different people playing these games, which is why sometimes there ARE candidates who seem younger or older and just because they arent everyone’s personal taste doesnt make it morally wrong!!! in general. yeah people think WAY too hard about it, if the characters can get married, they’re all adults, it’s literally not that deep😭

Thank you for the tag @friendofbats!
Sorry it's taken me so long - I really struggled to find 4 ships 😅
The Rules: Tag (9) people you want to know better and/or catch up with, then answer the following:
Four Ships
In no particular order
1. The Titanic (1912)
2. The Millennium Falcon (Star Wars)
3. The Ever Given (Suez Canal March 2021)
4. The USS Enterprise NCC-1701 (Star Trek)
...
...
...
OK, OK, not that kind of ship. Gotcha.
For real though, this was kinda hard because I'm not a big shipper. I tend to just go along with the default canon ships. Don't get me wrong, I like a lot of ships, but I had to really wrack my brain to find four I love.
1. Female Shepherd x Garrus Vakarian (Mass Effect trilogy)
I was not expecting to feel so strongly about this ship, but after recently replaying the ME trilogy and romancing Garrus this time, I was blown away by the chemistry between him and FemShep. The voice actors do a phenomenal job anyway, but they really brought their 'A' game to this relationship. It made the ending all the more bittersweet for me, knowing how ME3 closes out...I just want these 2 to be together forever, dangit!
NB: I know the player chooses Shepherd's appearance and how they respond to certain situations, but I still see Shepherd as a defined character, rather than an OC/self insert.
2. Nina x Galen (Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life)
Does it still count as a "ship" if they've already been married for decades when we meet them? Eh, I'm counting it.
When I think of OTPs, I think of characters I can't imagine with anyone else. That defines Nina/Galen for me. They clearly mean the world to each other.
3. Fox x Vixen (Animals of Farthing Wood)
I've spoken before about how the AoFW cartoon was my childhood. Well, these 2 were my OG ship. I can't think of Two characters more meant to be together.
Tumblr media
Even the narrative (in the books, at least) calls out how unusual their bond is, with the two choosing, unlike other foxes, to stay together long after their cubs are grown up. I love the way they respect and admire each other, how there's never even any question of anyone else for either of them, and how, even when times are tough, they never turn their frustrations on each other.
4. Robin x Starfire (Teen Titans 2003)
Tumblr media
I've always enjoyed 'Friends to Lovers' stories - Which makes a lot of sense since I realised I'm demisexual 😅 My favourites are the stories where they've been friends for a long time, before something shifts and they finally realise they see each other as more than friends.
I think that's part of the reason I resonate so much with this ship.
Last Song: Eyes Closed by Ed Sheeran
Currently Reading: Shadow by Michael Morpurgo
Last Movie: um... I really can't remember what my last movie was. It's been that long since I consciously sat down to watch a film
Craving: it's a cliché, but: milk chocolate. 😅🍫
No pressure tags: @sneakyfox55 @lizzie-tempest @hannahcbrown @acustardduckling @harvestpokerune @devaneiosblues and anyone else who'd like to have a go 🙂

@urianius
meixi is bouncing on her toes. she's practically got magic spilling over from he fingertips. but she doesn't. because she knows better and her uncle would kill her if he found yet another instance of her not being able to control her powers. she's fine! she's nervous yes. but she's fine!
soonyi and yichen are glancing from her, to the object of her nerves. it's a big bowl, a crockpot to be exact. her uncle had given her the same look when she'd asked to borrow it - and his kitchen - and his vegetables from his garden. she's his ward! she's entitled to those things at the very least. he'd expressed a bit of concern and enjoyment at her interest in cooking and though he insisted he be part of the process, meixi assured him she could handle it. it was a gift! she had to be able to handle it.
so she'd pulled up at the recipes, all the cookbooks and all the ingredients and got to work. her uncle still hadn't taught her healing spells ( the old fart ) and she'd decided she should be careful not to cut her hand cutting the squash. but it was fall! it was the time of her people - according to the humans. fall and witchy season went hand in hand and for her - harvest moons and such were on the horizon. she was excited and she was ushering it in with her friends, her first real friends who knew who and what she was without judgement.
it was important to her to celebrate it. and what better than the soup she'd seen advertised on so many autumn and fall recipe sites. she didn't know much about what fall entailed for humans, but she saw pumpkins and squash and lots of earthy inspired things. she'd gone out of her way to pick things from the woods to decorate on her own.
it was important! it had to be perfect! people that you entered the harvest moon with were people you treasured and boy does meixi treasure these two. boy does she.
so she'd spent the entirety of yesterday afternoon decorating and this morning cooking, cooking and trials and errors and taste testing to get it right. she wasn't sure exactly how it should taste but she just wanted it to be good, to be memorable and be enjoyed. she was so nervous, she's sure little white dandelions are peeking their way out her hair and she's blowing them away so they don't fall on the table and by the food. she'd fastened some pumpkins, cored out and labeled the soup into them. the table decorated with multicolored leaves and pinecones, probably a little too fresh and some with the soil of the earth still dusting off them.
but that's the point! right?
she'd begged her uncle for his tablecloth but now she's glad he didn't give it to her, ladling the soup properly had caused a bit of a mess. but it looks good, homey and steam is still coming from the two pumpkin bowls.
"dig in!"
soonyi and iychen both look back and forth from each other, to the bowls on the table. apprehension is to be expected - the only thing meixi had ever cooked for them were things frozen to be put in the oven. cooking had been her uncle's job so she could focus on her studies. they all knew that, in fact, when it came to cooking yichen was the one the two girls turned to. he always had a new dish that he'd learned from his childhood - ready to whip up for them. she wanted to return the favor.
'meixi...' "it tastes good i promise!" 'we believe you!'
yichen is always the first to try and placate her, knowing the young witch is prone to tears at any moment.
"please try it? i wanted to share the beginning of fall with you both. i promise i didn't use any magic to make it! look - i even have the bandaids from times i knicked my finger with the knife!"
she's showing her fingers as a form of conviction but the two are quick to rise from their seats and be at her side. yichen is inspecting her hands and soonyi is searching for a first aid kit.
"guys i'm fine!!!! please just eat!"
both friends stop. the dandelions in her hair definitely start to blossom now, even popping off her in bunches and falling on the table. yichen coughs a bit and soonyi starts laughing and dusts them from the table and meixi's apron.
'okay okay, don't sprout an entire tree silly.'
meixi's signature chipmunk face has taken hold as she watches her friends return to their seats. it doesn't move until they take hold of the ladles and after a quick look to one another - take their first bites. meixi thinks she'll die from anticipation, she's leaning so close over the table, the dandelion flecks also make their way into the bigger pots she'd made.
"well? well?!"
'it's...' 'delicious.'
the admission from both of them at the same time had her beaming and this time in the place of the white dandelion wisps, is the actual yellow flower, bursting across the crown of her head.
"really?!"
she doesn't get a response though because the two are effectively digging into the soup. meixi's heart swells.
"you really liked it?"
even after they'd devoured their bowl, asked for seconds, and stolen a loaf out her uncle's pantry to toast and eat another helping of soup with - she's still nervous.
'it was great.' 'yichne would lie to help your feelings but i wouldn't.' 'i wouldn't lie!' 'to make her happy you would.' 'so would you!!!!'
the two begin bickering and meixi can't help the laughter that spills, and the flowers that begin to fill the room, vines crawling under the floorboards to sprout more and more buds. yichen is laughing as his hand comes to tousle what he can from her hair, an affectionate rub against her head and soonyi is effectively blowing the petals away before they cause a storm. she does take quite a few in her hand to place on the table, by the nearly empty pot.
'happy harvest?' she starts. "happy harvest!" meixi adds. 'happy harvest!' yichen finishes.
happy harvest indeed.

I’ve talked before about wanting matchmaking in Rune Factory games because I love shipping the town together.
Which means of course as I'm playing Rune Factory 5 I am, uh, playing imaginary matchmaker.
Anyway, there are often obvious “rival” couples, (in the Harvest Moon sense - predetermined pairings) even if the game doesn’t have a rival mechanic. Like in Rune Factory 5: Beatrice and Reinhard are clearly meant to have romantic potential, at least. And basically everyone immediately clocks Priscilla and Lucy as being oblivious childhood sweethearts.
But part of the fun, for me, is to try to come up with less obvious pairings and try to find justifications for them.
So, with the caveat that I haven’t played all the romance plots (I have done Martin's and Scarlett's and just started Priscilla's) and technically haven’t finished the game (I've unlocked the floating fortress, I've just been putting off the final stretch), here’s my current Shipping The Town Together arrangement:
Priscilla and Beatrice
Priscilla wants to be swept off by a fairytale prince/ss. Beatrice is a princess who loves Priscilla’s company. They’re both naive but in opposite directions - Priscilla over-prepared and anxious, Beatrice underprepared and trusting. Both love reading, and seem to read the same genres. Send either one alone into a big city and I'd be worried for their safety, but together I feel like they'd Man Who Knew Too Little their way to the best possible outcome. They both have big hearts and intense curiosity and want to expand their worlds. I think it could be very cute.
Cecil and Scarlett
They both love jigsaw puzzles and reaching the bottom of things. The pragmatist and romantic might make a good mystery solving team. Mulder and Scully, if you will. They could work together to find Cecil’s parents and help Scarlett root out corruption in SEED. I imagine them traveling the world together seeking out urgent truths. I think they'd both bring out the best in each other and temper the worst. The kind of person who it becomes just easy and fun to be your favourite self around.
Fuuka and Martin
She loves shiny things. He makes shiny things. He cannot refuse even his least favorite gift (mushrooms) when it is given by her. She spends a lot of time at the smithy. Also Fuuka understands the value of a full belly and a warm nap, something she could teach to Martin. And he might be the most serious and reliable person in town, which given her frightening past, could be a source of feeling protected and secure for her. I can imagine Martin and her sharing a home together that somehow resembles a safe warm fox's den.
Ryker and Murakumo
One breaks buildings, the other builds them. Also, and I cannot stress this enough, this would be incredibly hot. But also I feel like they are similar yet opposite in this compelling way? I can imagine Ryker being weirdly protective of kindhearted Kumo, in that deeply satisfying way where one is the cynical aware one and protects the kindhearted open one so they can stay kindhearted and open. Ryker would love relaxing in the baths, and he'd bring the savvy where Murakumo brings the stamina and work ethic. They'd have such a unique dynamic. And also, again, they are very hot. This would be very hot.
Ludmilla and Misasagi
I never said there was a rule I had to stick to marriage candidates, lmao. Ludmilla would be such a good stepmother to Hina, don't talk to me. I'm gonna cry. Can you imagine??? Beyond that, though, Ludmilla and Misasagi are both mature complex ladies. Ludmilla would be more than capable of handling Misasagi's angry streak, in fact reveling in it (you KNOW these two would get SO kinky, lmao). Misasagi would be so protective of Ludmilla against anyone who would question a succubus' place in society. They'd make each other so happy. This would also be ridic hot.
Lucas, Reinhard, and Lucy form a mutually committed polycule throuple.
Is this born of me not being able to decide whether I like Lucas and Reinhard, Reinhard and Lucy, or Lucy and Lucas best? A little bit. But!
One of the problems I run into is that Reinhard is SO committed to Beatrice, and Lucy is SO committed to Priscilla, that whoever married them is gonna have to be comfortable with that. A romantic relationship doesn't always mean you're a person's #1 relationship, and in the case of Lucy and Reinhard, I think that's just true. Reinhard's loyalty to Beatrice and Lucy's protectiveness towards Priscilla are always going to be a major driving factor in their lives.
But I think they'd be able to respect that in each other. I think, in some ways, if Beatrice and Priscilla got together first, Lucy and Reinhard would almost happen automatically, because it would be inevitable that they'd be spending lots of time together.
So that's how Reinhard and Lucy might be comfortable with their respective dynamics, but I also like the idea of Lucas the Literal God falling in love with the knight and town tomboy, as individuals and as a pair. Lucas already loves humanity so much. He and Reinhard share an optimism and an appreciation for the simple and domestic. And Lucy deserves the kind of romantic overtures Lucas seems capable of. Even if she'd live a happy life of understanding with Reinhard that his loyalties would always be divided, I think she would sometimes secretly wish to feel worthy of being a person's first priority, their one and only. Meanwhile, I don't think Lucy's friendship with Priscilla is something it would occur to Reinhard to feel self conscious about. And I think even if it was never said, there would be a kind of understanding that in the way that Reinhard would always prioritize Beatrice (even if their relationship is platonic), Lucas would always prioritize Lucy. Lucy and Priscilla's relationship is less intense and formalized than Reinhard and Beatrice's, so it makes sense that she might feel more insecure than he would, and might need more bolstering. And I love her and want her to be spoiled.
But that doesn't mean Reinhard and Lucas wouldn't also be deeply in a very real love. Even if Reinhard isn't concerned with being anyone's #1 person, he still needs a support behind him, and one who isn't particularly concerned with needing support in return. The thing about Lucas is he seems able to, divinely, infinitely give. Which makes sense. He is a God who loves Creation and People. But he can also fall in love. With a person. Or more than one person. And that means he would never be bothered by Reinhard's devotion to Beatrice - he would adore it as just another facet of him. And he would love Lucy's loyalty to Priscilla. And he would love Lucy loving him doting on her. And he would love Reinhard coming home exhausted and making the worst food.
And they would all balance each other and love each other and they'd have a kid and Beatrice and Priscilla would have a kid and their kids would marry thank you this podcast was brought to you by WBEZ Chicago
As for me? The player character? Whomst do I fuck?
Elsje takes me on weekdays and Darroch takes me on weekends and holidays.
-
Watch me actually play Lucas's or Lucy's or Beatrice's or anyone's romance stories through and I'm just dead wrong about their personalities lol

Anime i’ve Watched
That begin with a O (Part 1)!
Yep this is how i’m going to bring over all the anime and manga i’ve watched and posted about on the old blog. It’s not so detailed but it will have to do. Anything new I watch or read from this point on will have their own posts.
Ojisan to Marshmallow:
Genres: Slice of Life, Comedy, Romance, TV Short
Tumblr media
Synopsis: Habahiro Hige is a simple-minded older man who works an office job and is an enthusiast of Tabekko Marshmallows. His days often consist of being teased by his 24-year-old colleague Iori Wakabayashi, who uses his obsession to her advantage: from eating them in front of his face, to buying out his favorite brand from the convenience store, and even embarrassing him in front of their boss. Although her friends cannot fathom what she sees in him, she just cannot get over his marshmallow-like, fluffy frame. No matter the lengths it takes, Iori will find a way to get his attention. Little does Habahiro know that she is trying to seduce him into a romantic relationship with her. The way to a man's heart is through his stomach, right? At least this is what Iori would honestly like to believe. With a bag in hand, Iori continues to make him chase after her day after day, hoping that he will finally see through her attempts. Will he ever realize that their relationship can become s'more? [Written by MAL Rewrite]
Tumblr media
My Rating: 9/10
Finished airing in 2016 with a total of 12, 3 minute long episodes.
My Thoughts: A cute, bite sized anime with feeling. Something light and short to watch on a bad day.
Omoide Poroporo (Only Yesterday):
Genres: Slice of Life, Drama, Romance, Film
Tumblr media
Synopsis:  Taeko Okajima is a 27-year-old, independent woman who spent her entire life in Tokyo. Looking to unwind from the rush of the big city, she decides to visit her family in the country to help out during the harvest. On the train there, Taeko vividly recalls her memories as a schoolgirl in the initial stages of puberty, as if she is on a trip with her childhood self. A young farmer named Toshio picks her up at the station, and they quickly develop a friendship. During her stay, Taeko forms strong bonds with family and friends, learning the contrasts between urban and rural life, as well as the struggles and joys of farming. Nostalgic and bittersweet, Omoide Poroporo takes on Taeko's journey as an adult woman coming to terms with her childhood dreams compared to the person she is today.
Tumblr media
My Rating: 9/10
A film released in 1991.
My Thoughts: One of the lesser known films by Studio Ghibli and well it didn’t leave that big of an impact on me it was still an experience to watch and one i’m thankful for.
Onigiri:
Genres: Comedy, Supernatural, Fantasy, TV Short
Tumblr media
Synopsis:  Ancient Japan is under attack by powerful beings called "Kamikui," and it is up to the "Oni" and his band of eight beautiful female warriors to stop them. Each of these girls have unique skills, abilities, and personalities. They partner themselves with the Oni, Jin, to stop the miasma of darkness sweeping across Japan. Onigiri follows the escapades of Jin and his merry companions as they strengthen their bonds and fend off the demonic invasion. [Written by MAL Rewrite]
Tumblr media
(Couldn’t find a gif, the one above is not from the anime.)
My Rating: 7/10
Finished airing in 2016 with a total of 13, 4 minute long episodes.
My Thoughts: Meh. Can’t remember a thing.
Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki (Wolf Children):
Genres: Fantasy, Slice of Life, Film
Tumblr media
Synopsis: Hana, a hard-working college student, falls in love with a mysterious man who attends one of her classes though he is not an actual student. As it turns out, he is not truly human either. On a full moon night, he transforms, revealing that he is the last werewolf alive. Despite this, Hana's love remains strong, and the two ultimately decide to start a family. Hana gives birth to two healthy children—Ame, born during rainfall, and Yuki, born during snowfall—both possessing the ability to turn into wolves, a trait inherited from their father. All too soon, however, the sudden death of her lover devastates Hana's life, leaving her to raise a peculiar family completely on her own. The stress of raising her wild-natured children in a densely populated city, all while keeping their identity a secret, culminates in a decision to move to the countryside, where she hopes Ame and Yuki can live a life free from the judgments of society. Wolf Children is the heartwarming story about the challenges of being a single mother in an unforgiving modern world. [Written by MAL Rewrite]
Tumblr media
My Rating: 9/10
A film released in 2012.
My Thoughts: Like movies that make you cry and have a bit of an odd concept? This film may in fact be for you! Nice art and a touching story.
Orange:
Genres: Sci-fi, Drama, Romance, School, Shoujo
Tumblr media
Synopsis:  Naho Takamiya's first day of her sophomore year of high school is off to an uneasy start. After waking up late, she receives a strange letter addressed to her. However, the letter is from herself—10 years in the future! At first, Naho is skeptical of the note; yet, after witnessing several events described to take place, she realizes the letter really is from her 26-year-old self. The note details that Naho's future life is filled with regrets, and she hopes that her younger self can correct the mistakes that were made in the past. The letter also warns her to keep a close eye on the new transfer student, Kakeru Naruse. Naho must be especially careful in making decisions involving him, as Kakeru is not around in the future. With the letter as her guide, Naho now has the power to protect Kakeru before she comes to regret it once more. [Written by MAL Rewrite]
Tumblr media
My Rating: 8/10
Finished airing in 2016 with a total of 13 episodes.
My Thoughts: I loved the manga... I honestly have no idea why I only gave the anime an 8... Maybe the story just had less impact the 2nd time around? Not a clue.
Ore Monogatari!! (My Love Story):
Genres: Comedy, Romance, Shoujo
Tumblr media
Synopsis: With his muscular build and tall stature, Takeo Gouda is not exactly your average high school freshman. However, behind his intimidating appearance hides a heart of gold, and he is considered a hero by the boys for his courage and chivalry. Unfortunately, these traits do not help much with his love life. As if his looks are not enough to scare the opposite sex away, Takeo's cool and handsome best friend and constant companion Makoto Sunakawa easily steals the hearts of the female students—including every girl Takeo has ever liked. When Takeo gallantly saves cute and angelic Rinko Yamato from being molested, he falls in love with her instantly, but suspects that she might be interested in Sunakawa. With his own love for Yamato continuing to bloom, Takeo unselfishly decides to act as her cupid, even as he yearns for his own love story. [Written by MAL Rewrite]
Tumblr media
My Rating: 9.5/10
Finished airing in 2015 with a total of 24 episodes.
My Thoughts: I freaking loved this anime!! The male lead wasn’t your typical pretty boy, all of the characters were wonderful in their own ways and the relationship between the two leads was painfully adorable. Big fan of this title!

Witchtypes and Crafts
Merry meet. And welcome to this long long post. Since I am new to witchcraft I am currently researching a lot. And one of those topics I am researching is the Types of Witches and their Crafts. Since that is on every List for the New witch to research. Right after History of Witches. Maybe I will make a Blog about the History as well. Later, when I have more Informations on it.
Some hints for this Post:
1: this List is not complette.
2: No witch is just one Type. Labels are nice and give a good Sense of Order. But most Witches have more then one way to do their magic. So Mix Types are usual in my experience.
3: It is mostly about where the witch is focusing on and what she works with.
4: Changing your "Type" is possible and maybe even good. Maybe you will find a way for magic you didn't even new existed. Try it out.
5: If I am presenting something wrong, please tell me. I will change it. We all can learn from each other.
6: if you know another Kind of Type that is not on the list, feel free to reblog and/or comment.
7: several names for one Kind of Type happens. So dont wonder about it if you know the Type but under a different Name.
8: there are alot of them. And some go into each other. But are their own Type. So I Made some Kind of big categories. I hope you can follow me through this all.
9: I wrote all of this in my Book of Shadows. There I just got a little Checklist. Not the Text Version like I am giving you here. If you want the short Version just write to me and I will see what I can do.
Now to the actual List of Types. There are a lot of them. So buckle up.
1. Eclecctic Witch
Just because eclecctic has a negative ring to it in some languages (German for instance), doesn't mean that these Witches are uncreative. This witch Pulls their Pratcises from many other different types, depending in what they want, need and can do. No eclecctic witch is like another.
2. Hedge Witch / Liminial Witch
These witches concentrate more on the In-Between Places. Astral Projection, Spiritual Places and Dream Magic are very common for them.
3. Green Witch / Nature Witch / Garden Witch
You can meet these Witches outside. Plants and Nature are there Expertise. The Garden is normally the centrum of their magic.
- Wild Witch
A special Form of the Green Witch. This Wild Witch is not feral. No. They just love the wilderness and the nature in its free Form. Tamed and orderly kept gardens are not so their thing. She Feels much more connected to the wilderness, where humans have not meddled.
- Forest Witch
Also a special Form of the Green or Nature Witch. These Witches love their Woods and Forests. Trees are Essential for them and their magic.
- Weather Witch / Storm Witch
If it as a Storm, Rain or just the sunshine, these Witches know how to work with the weather and what enegies they can harvest and use. From what I read these Witches seem to Prefer the rain and wind, with the occasional ligthning Strike. That is why there are also known as Storm Witches.
- Ozean / Sea Witch
The first thing that comes to the mind when you hear Sea Witch would be Ursula from Ariel. (I personally have bad relationship with her... oh childhood you follow me everywhere). But Ursula is giving a pretty crooked Picture for these witches. They focus on the Tides. And who rules over those? The Moon, correct. Trying to seperate the Ozean from the Moon wont work. And these witches also use the storm magic like the Weather Witches. Of course more focused on the sea weather. Sadly bot every Sea Witch is so lucky to live near the Ozean. Other great water bodies work as well for them. A Lake or a sea work as well.
4. Kitchen Witch
One of the most well known and beloved witches today. Not surprising. Food is something we all love and cherish. But for these witches their Kitch and their food are their Kingdom and sacred place. They love to cook or bake. New Recipes and creating their own, that is something they enjoy.
- Garden Witch
This witch is equally well known and often very close with the Kitchen Witch. The Herbs from the Garden are not only being used in the tea, but also made into little bags and bundels. In German you may know here as a “Kräuter Hexe”.
- Cottage Witch / Hearth Witch / Personal Space Witch
This type of Witch concentrates her magic on her home. Cozy and Safe, that is her motto. They need a safe and sacred place, which is their home. This witch often overlaps with the Kitchen and Garden Witch.
5. Healer Witch
The Healer or healing Witch uses her magic mostly for - well - healing. Like the name indicates. Selfhealing or the healing of others: The Witch Doctor is IN and waiting for their next patient.
6. Crystal Witch
A very common witch. And don’t I understand it. These little guys are pretty and gourgeous and very useful and powerful. Crystal, Gem, Jewels or just a plain rock. These witches knows a lot about them and how to use them. You could say the crystals are the “foundation stone”.
7. Divination Witch
This Witch concentrates her magic on the subconscious and their intuition. And uses them to predict the future. Just because of that, they don’t think that everything is set in stone. They know very well of the free Will and the power it holds and wields. Tarot, Palm reading and others. There are many ways and options to get a glance into the future. But be careful, you might not like what you get to see.
8. Empath Witch
I personaly found this witch very relatable for me and found myself reflected. This Witch concentrates on their emotions and Intuition. They can pick up all kind of energies, vibes and moods (of a room, person, animal, you say it), read them and work with them
9. Mental Witch
The mental witch fascinated me immediatly, when I heard from them. And it demanded immediatly a lot of respect from me. The way they are using their magic is purely mentally. That means no physical counterpart. Complete concentration and a lot of Imagination are needed and necessary. That is why it is an incredible hard magic. I can imagine how quick bad things can turn out, just because you are not in complete control of your thoughts while you work your magic...
10. Cosmic Witch / Astrology Witch
These witches are living with the Nightsky and are constantly working with him. Not just the moon, the stars and the plantes are an important part as well in this witchcraft. With the phases it is very diverse over the year.
- Lunar / Moon Witch
They focus on the moon. And they look how it affects them. Their power comes and goes with the moon.
- Solar Witch / Sun Witch / Day Witch
This witch works only on the day and rises and goes with the sun. The night is not for them at all. The Sabbats and the Summer Solstice are their Highpoints of the year.
- Nocturnal Witch
As the name suggest, these witches are the complette opposite of the Solar Witch. The Night is their Kingdom.
11. Cultural / Traditonal Witch
This is a group of many different tipes and stiles, put under one label. From Nordic to african and egypt. The Homeland and the culture and traditions (Heritage) from there are a solid and important Part of their Craft
- Religious Witch
This one is pretty simple and normaly just an addition (like I said way up, most witches are a mix of many types). This witch gets in contact with their God, Godess or Gods in her magic, makes it a part of it. All Religions can be combined with Witchcraft. Christianity or Buddhism, a religious witch can find a way to get the higher ups involved.
- Wicca
You probably heard already from these Witches. Wicca is neopagan religion and is using a lot of old models and musters in their ways to live.
Nice sentence to remember from Skye Alexander: Every Wicca is a Witch, not every Witch is a Wicca.
- Ancestral Witch
This witch lives close with their family and the ones that came before them. A Family tree will be found somewhere, I am sure. And it will be up to date. They have a close bond with their Ancestors and are communicating with them.
- Necromancy Witch
No, this witch doesn’t raise the dead and doesn’t creates Zombies (why can I hear the sigh of disapointment...?). But they comes easily in contact with the deceased. And blood realtion is not needed for them. The Graveyard is a place of serenity and company for these witches.
- Hereditrary Witch
To be this kind of witch, you need a witch in your family that teached you their craft. Grandmother or uncle, who it is was and is, is not so important. Passed on Spells and Recipes from Generation to the next Generation. Maybe our Children or nieces and nephews will learn the witchcraft from us and with that will be carring on. (Just think, the spell you created might be still used some Generations later. Quite Impressive)
- Ceremonial / Ritual Witch
This witch loves Ceremonies and Rituals to bring their magic into the world. Rules and clear procedures, which makes them the opposite to the Chaos Witch, a Type that will be described later.
12. Elemantal Witch
Like the name says, these witches a working mostly with the elements and their spirits.
- Air/Fire/Water/Earth Witch
These Witches have specialised themself on one Element. The one they feel connected with. The Reason is only important to the relationship and how it will be expressed.
- Fairy / Fae Witch
I hardly now anything about these witches. Just that they work with the faes. That’s about it.
- Dragon / Draconic Witch
I don’t know a lot about these witches as well, saddly. Just that they work with the dragons, and with the fire.
- Pact Witch
These Witches make contracts with a lot of magical creatures and other beings. How these pacts look like differs not only from witch to witch, but is also different depending on the partner of the contract and their relationship.
13. Shadow Witch
One of the first witchtypes I looked into more. They use Shadow Work. Now what is that? It is about knowing yourself, all sides and facettes. The good and the Bad. And to shine a Light on them to work on and with them. The Subconsciousness is incredible important for them. And Meditation and Reflexion are frequently Methods for them.
14. Warrior Witch
These witche have an incredible urge to be activ and are protectiv. Like the Name tells you these witches are not afraid to fight for what they believe in. They have a strong and good Sense for what is right and what is wrong. Ethic and Morality are a Talent of theirs.
15. Chaos Witch
I mentioned this witch a litle earlie, that they are the opposite of the ritual Witch. They are untraditionel and love to think outside the box, because of that their magical praxis is nothing like the “schoolbook”. Flexibel and spontan are here a key. Also the changing of their way of magic is usual and not weird at all. The Genius overlooks the Chaos.
16. Modern Witch
- Tech Witch
If it is the Smartphone or the Laptop, this witch understands Technologie and knows how to use it in and with their magic.
- Urban / City Witch
This witch loves the Big Cities. The more people on one place, the better. The engery that exists there is easily used by these witches. But also the tram or cars are part of their everyday magic.
- Pop Cultural Witch
Who doesn’t know them? The new witches and wizards. Harry Potter, Sabrina, and who not and whereever they are. Magic always fascinated humans, even so it has it spooky side (or exactly because of the spooky side). Because of this fascination it became easily part of our stories. Fantasy. But most things in witchcraft happen in the head. Spells and Potions from these fantasy stories are brought to live and into reality by the Pop Cultural Witch, not exactly and to 100%, but you can see the connection and the inspiration they found. Maybe some even found their way to real witchcraft through the Pop Cultur?
- Art Witch
These witches are artists. Drawing, sketching, writing, sewing, singing and many other things with their Art they not only express themselfs, but bring their magic into the world.
- Music / Rythmis Witch
The sound of a heartbeat, a poem, drumbs or even just dancing and so much more is part of this witchcraft. Rythm is in their lives and their magic, a real beat. Loud or quite, it doesn’t matter. They will bewitch you with their beat and sound of their magic.
- Color Witch
The Colors of the wind. Well, yes. These witches are colorful. Their favourite color? Better buckle up for a lecture over two hours long, about colors and their meanings and the intentions they have. These witches know their colors. When you know one, look at their clothes they are showing you, the colors will gladly tell you what is currently on your friends mind and happening in their live.
- Sigil Witch
Sigils are the key and shield for these witches. If old ones or just created from the spot. There is hardly a situation this witch will not have a sigil ready to be drawn. And if they encounter one, they will create just the right one.
Well. That was the list. For now.
My head is mushy and is running in circles, I bet yours is not different.
If I did get anything wrong, I am terrible sorry. Just comment or write to me about it and I will correct it. After all, learning from each other is one of the most important things we can do.
By the way, It could be that there are spelling and gramma errors. My mother language is not english, and I was not very good while I was in school. Now I am catching up, by reading and listening and watching almost everything on english. But writing it is quite different. So just correct me and I will be able to get better at it, too.
I do hope I could help a little with this list and didn’t bring more confusion...
Until next time, my dear ones.
Your hexellent learning witch.

Recs to avoid utter boredom: - start/join a challenge (whether it'd be fitness, art or writing, there's literally tons and you will find one intriguing enough for you trust me) - draw - read some comics, get into a new fandom - rewatch some old childhood series (absolutely hilarious how bad some of them are now..) - if you're not a big gamer or can't afford the games you're interested in, you can also watch game movies Video game recs that aren't violent but wholesome, soothing and a bloody joy to get into: Ori and the blind forest, harvest moon, animal crossing, stardew valley, gris, spider-man (Ps4), Abzu. I hope my suggestions helped... I'm truly the most boring person on this planet.. so I wouldn't know how to avoid boredom since it's literally part of my being.. (help..)

My Journey
At the tender age of thirty-five, I have discovered anime. Don’t get me wrong, I first watched Princess Mononoke at sixteen. It was my first exposure to Eastern thought, and it blew my tiny adolescent western mind, and I loved it. But outside of Ghibli movies and Voltron (which I don’t count), I’ve never sought it out on my own.
As a previous post might indicate, I am obsessed with Godzilla, so it isn’t as if I’m closed off from Japanese media. Most of the video games I play are Japanese. (Fire Emblem, Harvest Moon, Rune Factory, pretty much anything Nintendo.) One of my partners is even a Pacific Islander of Japanese descent, who lived in Japan, who speaks Japanese. And we’ve been together seven years. But all of the sudden, now I’m on this quest to make up for lost time and consume all the anime I can.
(Note: If you have suggestions, I would love them. But I would prefer if they were queer. I want women in love with other women. It doesn’t have to be overt, but I don’t want any heterosexual romances, and would prefer as few male characters as possible. I’ve seen enough male-driven storylines, thanks.)
But today, I am here to word-vomit all about the queer extravaganza that is Senki Zesshou Symphogear. Because I am addicted. I’ll start with this picture.
Tumblr media
And so begins our journey...
The show starts out the gate being super gay. Tsubasa (Blue) and Kanade (Red) are each a half of the singing duo Zwei Wing. They refer to one another as partners and there is a lot of “We can do anything as long as we’re together” and “I’m going to sing with you forever” type stuff.
Then there is Hibiki and Miku:
Tumblr media
Friends since childhood, they are the core couple of the show. Hibiki is the main character who typically discovers she’s not just a normal girl and has the ability to wield a Gear, which allows her to become this adorable badass superhero. Miku is her anchor in the mundane world. She is frequently the one person or thing that can reach/inspire/motivate Hibiki. She is what drives Hibiki.
Hibiki calls Miku her sunflower, the place where she is warmest, where she will always return to.
Tumblr media
Which brings me to the point that they share a bed. Despite having bunk beds, they always sleep together. Except when they’re fighting, then they go to their respective bunks. It’s just so cute.
The characters are delightfully complex. Hibiki is as pure as the driven snow but she isn’t naive. Usually, pure characters are oblivious or ignorant to the danger or evil around them, but Hibiki isn’t. She knows fighting is dangerous. She knows people can be evil, but those things never deter her. It makes her incredibly brave, even when confronted with someone she knows is malicious, she extends her hand in friendship because she chooses to believe the best in others. It is nice to see a character who is sweet and pure without being an utter dumbass.
We’ve all seen it. The sweet, precious hero is surprised that the bad guy who has been trying to kill them for an entire season won’t be their friend. Hibiki is NOT like that. She always gives people the opportunity for kindness without expectation, with the full awareness that it might be rejected.
Miku is the sweet, somewhat demure, nurturing one. She is the caretaker character. You might initially think she’s the standard timid and meek best friend stock character. But nope. She does not suffer fools. She is not an enabler. She is not afraid to call anybody out on their bullshit, regardless of who they are. She does what she thinks is right which also makes her very brave. She wants to protect Hibiki as much as Hibiki protects her.
Their dynamic is just lovely. Hibiki can kind of be a mess sometimes. She’s absent-minded, never on time, doesn’t prioritize school work. Miku is always there to pull her back down to earth, to center her. If she feels Hibiki is losing focus or deviating from who she is, Miku will always be the one to ground her. She truly is Hibiki’s anchor, her safe place. And I love it.
Oh and there is my dear Yukine Chris. I won’t go super in detail, but I will leave you with this:
Tumblr media
It is exactly what it looks like. A queer D/s relationship. Unfortunately, it’s toxic and unhealthy. A whole lot of “I’m the only one that can love you” and “You have to obey me or I won’t love you anymore” and “I’m angry so you have to let me take it out on you” and so on. It’s all taken directly from the Abusive Relationship Handbook.
But worry not, we are not subjected to the toxicity for terribly long, and Chris gets the kindness and love she deserves from her new friends and senpai. I’d go more in depth, but y’know... spoilers.
Now, let us march forward to season two where our Roster of Queerness is completed by three additional characters. Two of which are so cute I cannot even fucking stand it.
I call them my Precious Gay Babies.
Tumblr media
Kirika and Shirabe are two little baby gays that grew up in an orphanage with only one another and Maria, who is like a big sister to them. But oh my fucking god they are so precious I can’t even handle it.
Tumblr media
Kirika is the more animated of the two. The sweet, cheerful ray of sunshine. And Shirabe is the quieter, more solemn of the two. They literally have a fight where they are shouting back and forth at each other how much they love one another. If this show was only about them, I would watch it. They are just way too cute.
Shirabe can be a little possessive of Kirika, and Kirika knows who she belongs to. If another girl touches her, she knows Shirabe will put the stomp down on it. I usually find behavior like that kind of squicky and toxic, but in this instance it isn’t too gross because I think it’s rooted in their background. They’ve only ever had one another so they’re extremely protective of each other.
I mean, just look.
Tumblr media
Look at my Precious Gay Babies!
Tumblr media
LOOK AT THEM!!
They are so cute and precious and I love them.
Let me wrap this up with Maria.
Tumblr media
I won’t go too in depth with Maria because I don’t want to be spoiler-y. But 1) She’s fantastic. 2) No, I don’t know what’s up with her hair. 3) She is totally queer for Tsubasa, and I’m sailing on that ship.
Tumblr media
I am midway through the fourth season. So, I haven’t caught up to the most current season (5) but holy hell. I am invested.
It’s just a bunch of girls (oh! And there is even a genderless, sexless character who is precious and I love) being in love with other girls and fighting monster things.
I fucking love this show. Right now, it’s kind of vying for top spot with Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid. Which may only be my number one because it’s a little more overt in its women sleeping with other women thing. It’s equal parts “fuck yes!” combined with “am I high right now?” That’ll be my next post, I digress.
If you are in the mood for some light but surprisingly good entertainment featuring a strong line of female characters who all fall in love with one another, then I cannot recommend Senki Zesshou Symphogear enough. It is fan-fucking-tastic. It doesn’t require too much thought, but it makes up for it by giving you a ton of warm, fuzzy feels.
And if you can recommend me anything similar. Or anything that heavily features queer women, I would be forever in your debt.
Oh, and PS there is a mobile game, which is how I found the show in the first place. Downloaded the game, played it, then got all fucked up on the anime. Worth it.

Witchy Questionnaire
Hello Lovelies! A beautiful Tumblr witch, @vertewitch  tagged me in this post, so I decided to keep it going. I’m Kristen, a secular kitchen or cottage witch. While most of my time is spent in the kitchen, I’m also an avid gardener and everything I do revolves around my home. Many people may suspect that this aligns me with TradFem ideology, but that is not the case. If you are a tradfem, I will not tell you to get off my blog, but I will have you understand that I am not one of you, although I used to be. I am an atheist, and a secular humanist, and my practice revolves around personal enjoyment and practical living. My practice (what some would consider witchcraft, others may not), began as a suggestion from my therapist to invent helpful rituals for myself as a replacement to the aspects of religion that I missed.
The planet is very important to me on a personal and practical level, which is why my content is so heavily focused on seasonal and sustainable living. I create content on my website/blog Boiled Wheat Blog (boiledwheat.com), and on Youtube, and I share most of it here on Tumblr. I’m a small-scale professional food photographer, so when I’ve got lots of clients, I don’t make as much online content, but it is what I love to do with any extra time I have.
I absolutely love it when I get questions and messages from people, so if you have any questions, feel free to DM me!
1. what kind of witch are you?
I’m probably most accurately described as a kitchen witch. But cottage witchcraft, hearth witchcraft, and green witchcraft are also applicable. I am not a Wiccan, and I have no religion or even spirituality (depending on your definition), so that may “disqualify” me from witchcraft to some. But my favorite thing about being a witch is that it essentially means whatever you want it to mean!
2. how did you discover your path?
The natural and the whimsical were always alluring to me growing up. Like many children, I had a vivid imagination, and big dreams that didn’t quite fit into the faith that I was expected to uphold. As an adult, I painfully left my childhood religion and sought therapy to deal with some of the repercussions of my years spent in the faith. My therapist suggested that I add some rituals to my life that wouldn’t be necessarily spiritual in nature, but would healthily replace those aspects of religion that I missed. I began with the kitchen, creating mantras for myself to meditate and practice mindfulness while cooking, and then expanded outwards, to each part of my home. I lack belief in the supernatural, and I have no “faith” in the religious sense. But I do have mantras, meditations, rituals, and practices that help my mental and physical health, as well as organize and beautify my life.
3. how long have you been practicing?
I suppose I’ve been doing some sorts of practicing since childhood, but consciously, since I was 19.
4. what path/tradition do you follow?
I suppose there are bits and pieces of other’s paths in my own, but most of what I practice is invented by myself.
5. are you solitary or do you have a coven?
I am solitary for now. I have found covens or groups to be too close to some of the aspects of organized religion that I dislike most, but that could be just because I haven’t found the right people yet.
7. do/would you teach and practice witchcraft to your children?
I plan to adopt children someday, and yes, sort of. I plan to teach them the principles of mindfulness, and the importance of caring for the planet. But I would want them to create a path unique to themselves.
8. do you have a patron/matron deity?
I have no deities, but I do like researching them from a fascination standpoint.
9. favorite pantheon?
It would have to be Norse. I know that a lot of Norse mythology has been co-opted by individuals that I would never want to associate myself with, but the stories and gods themselves are extremely fun and interesting.
10. favorite goddess?
Hel, for sure. I don’t see her as a “villain” or “bad” goddess, she’s just a part of the life cycle.
11. favorite god?
Thor. Love that big oaf.
12. your sun sign?
I had to look these up, since I know next to nothing of astrology. But my sun sign is Libra and my moon sign is…
13. your moon sign?
Capricorn
15. thoughts on the afterlife?
I lack a belief in the afterlife, which is different from “believing that there is no afterlife”. I do not know what will happen when I die, and I’m okay with that.
17. are you out of the broom closet? if so, how do your friends/family feel about your path?
I suppose? Yes and no. Since my practice isn’t religious or spiritual, I never felt the need to come out about it… but that being said, I never formally came out about my sexuality either, so maybe that’s just not something that’s important to me? Haha, when I told my husband I was pansexual, it was more of just an “fyi, I also think women can be hot sometimes. Also nonbinary people.” And he was like, “lol cool” and that was that.
19. do you have an altar?
Kind of. I consider a few areas of my home to be a sort of altar.
20. what’s a spell that you’ve done?
I’ll equate my mantras and meditations to spells for the sake of this question. This morning, like every morning, I spoke through my intentions of creating a beautiful and healing day while I made my tea.
22. favorite pagan holiday that you celebrate?
Beltane! Where I live, that’s really the beginning of spring, and it’s when I put the majority of my seedlings out into the garden. 😊
26. favorite witch websites?
Hmmmm…. To be honest, I don’t really follow many witchy websites. But I do love the blogs: Olive Trees + Moon, Wooden Spoon Herbs Journal, Local Milk Blog, Stems and Forks, First We Eat, and Twigg Studios
29. favorite season?
Late Summer/Fall. Nothing is more fulfilling than a good harvest for me. And I love the preparations for the slow life of winter.
30. favorite herb?
Calendula
31. favorite gem?
It’s not really a gem, just a semiprecious stone, but carnelian.
38. your grimoire.
Tumblr media
It’s a simple leatherbound book that I picked up from a market stand in Edinburgh. It’s where I jot down recipe notes, to do lists, and random doodles. The pages are thick enough to hold lots of ink, even a little paint, so it works for the mixed media that I use in it, as well as the abuse it takes from having it open in the kitchen while I’m cooking.
39. your tarot deck(s) (or one you want).
I’ve never gotten into tarot, but I do see gorgeous decks every once in a while that make me want to give it a shot!
Thanks for the tag! @vertewitch, this was fun! :)

yknow, i think a big part of the queer experience is having so many moments in childhood where you shouldve known you were queer but thought nothing of it. it at least leaves for a lot of fun stories to start off with ‘i shouldve realized i was queer when...’
like damn i may have struggled with internalized homophobia and transphobia for years, but at least i get to tell stories like ‘i shouldve known i was gay when i would play harvest moon as a kid and only date the same girl every time’ or ‘ i shouldve known i was trans when i wanted to be a shapeshifter or anything but human when i had my superhero phase’ or ‘i shouldve known i was gay when i would sit and watch wizards of waverly place and at the ripe age of 6 and think everything would be better if alex and harper just kissed or something’ and have at least five people go ‘same’ in response
