I was told I should post this for any Cash on Demand fans out there (I know we are few).

For the majority of you who aren't familiar, it's a weird take on A Christmas Carol where a suave bank robber walks into a bank and basically terrorizes the stuffy (usually unflappable) manager by kidnapping his family and forcing him to help rob the bank. Doesn't sound much like A Christmas Carol? That's what I thought! Then I watched the movie and sure enough, there are some very similar themes.

It's also just a very fun, tense, well-contained movie that has a pair of fantastic actors set opposite on another. Morell and Cushing do exactly what their roles call for and more. It's just a delight.

Basically; outspoken and opinionated pitcher finds out his shy pushover catcher has a terminal illness and decides to become his rock, sticking by him and standing up for him and protecting him through everything and the rest of the team doesn't know about the illness so they just assume Author and Bruce are gay (but they're not.... except they kinda..... nvm)

**Check it out if you're intrigued but be warned it's from the 50s so the racist and homophobic attitudes of most characters are sooooo gross (and there are slurs in the book. the movie is from the 70s so its... slightly less gross in that respect)**

La otra es el pianista, y trompetista, Duke Pearson al que estoy descubriendo gracias a Mr. Record Man, Alfonso? El otro día compró unos buenos discos de Stax, Stevie Wonder, Charlie Byrd y un doble tríptico muy curioso VV. AA. de blues-soul y me habló del otro Duque. Veo para empezar que Pearson, partiendo del hard bop y post-bop, acabó evolucionando hacia el soul jazz con incursiones en la big band y algún disco navideño. Por de pronto he estado escuchando el álbum "The Phantom" de 1969, con un tema titular extenso, percusivo, misterioso y seductor que engancha, pero aquí hay mucha tela que cortar y hay que ir poco a poco.

El Duke sacó unos 17 álbumes de estudio entre 1960 y 1974 en sellos como Blue Note, Prestige y Atlantic. A principios de esa década fue diagnosticado de esclerosis múltiple y falleció en 1980.

Volumen, contraste, brillo.
