You immediately started to regret telling him, that you like Mingi, the look in your eyes scolding him.

The 8 boys and your other 3 girl friends closed their eyes, as you hesitantly got up, making your way to Mingi, your crush of 5 months. Q: how do you start your day?

A: i get up, stretch, then i shower, sometimes it’s warm, but sometimes it’s a cold one.

Q: cooking or baking?

A: baking! i can cook, but eunwoo is much better at it.

Q: what’s a show/movie you’ve been watching a lot recently?

A: i don’t watch anything really, but when i have the time, i like watching itaewon class or run-on.

Q: when you meet someone, what’s the first thing that you notice about them?

A: their eyes. it sounds a little odd, but you can tell a lot about a person’s demeanor and mood based on the look in their eyes.

Q: outside of your group, are you close with any of your peers?

A: yes! these days i’ve been seeing yuri & yunho from ATEEZ, lee know from stray kids. just recently, i also had plans with jiwoo from KARD!

Q: favorite holiday?

A: christmas! it’s the same day as my birthday.

Q: what’s one thing you still have from your childhood?

A: i still have a lot from my childhood at home, because when i came to korea, i was still very young, but i did bring my first cassette player with me. it reminds me of home.

A: i’m with my crush, and have been since 2019.

A: cardigans, sweaters, anything that’s knitted or oversized. whenever i can, i love feeling comfortable.

A: my members or my partner, one hundred percent.

A: don’t ever change or conform in order to fit someone else’s unrealistic standards, only do it if it benefits you somehow, and makes you happy in the end.

A: some more time to enjoy my childhood would be nice, i’ve been working on becoming a performer for so long that i think that i lost a lot of memories as a kid.

Q: if you weren’t an idol, where in life would you currently be?

A: i’d still be in my small hometown in the UK, probably knee-deep in my advanced studies. but i don’t know if i’d still stick to dancing, or if i’d be studying something else.

Q: three qualities that got you where you are today?

A: passion, perseverance, trust.

Q: what was the moment where you realized you finally made it to your dreams?

A: this is a tough one for me, but i think it was either our first music show win, or the day that i got a call from my manager saying that little mix wanted me to be a mentor on the search… i remember feeling so shocked that they even knew i existed, i grew up looking up to them, i still do!

Q: the most heartbreaking moment/realization about your career decision?

A: probably coming home to seeing how much things have changed since i left/last visited, realizing how many funerals, birthdays, and special moments i had been missing.

Q: you’ve met a lot of celebrities, but who made you absolutely starstruck?

A: definitely my label-mate & mentor, HyunA, and the little mix members.

Q: what was the first album you bought/received?

A: the first album (not including cassettes or vinyls) that i purchased myself was room 93 by halsey.

A: i made a mixtape to confess how i felt for my partner because i’m not really the best with words, and i didn’t know how else to express my emotions.

Q: would you ever share those songs off of that mixtape with the world?

A: no, it’s too precious and personal to us.

A: i’m not sure if i’d want to live in a foreign country again… i think i’d much rather be back home in the UK, or stay here in korea.

Happy SAN Day !!😍

Dear San,  Today is the birthday of an extremely important person in my life, ATEEZ's Choi San. So finally, it's July 10th, this is my first birthday with you and it feels surreal. I guess it goes without saying that I have a lot to say, so this letter will be a long one. I started stanning ATEEZ in 2020. When the world had just started going into a tough phase. After getting to know ATEEZ for a while, I decided I should think about a bias, but it was extremely difficult...(I mean it). But then, after a few months, my eyes kept seeing one member named San. During V-LIVEs, on their YouTube channel, in group photos etc. you just continued to stand out in the crowd. I never really understood what is so great about you that I kept falling for you. I liked you more than any single idol I had ever seen in my entire life. Then, I started and tried to learn who is Choi San and nothing has changed ever since. My love for you has only grown more and more. You are the most kind and loving person i know, and your heart is so pure and beautiful. You put others before yourself and would rather stay sad, if it put a smile on the one’s around you. Whether, it be dancing, singing, friendship, handling a responsibility you makes sure you give it your all. You are the definition of “perfection” for me, and i know you are not perfect and you do make mistakes, probably a lot of them. But that is what makes you, a human at the end of the day, right?, I always noticed you would often mention your home-town, Namhae in South Korea, and whenever you mentioned it, you were extremely proud of where you were from, you are also the first and only Idol from Namhae till now. You were recently officially certified as the Ambassador Of Namhae. Your love for Namhae never fell short, whenever you mention Namhae that pride and dignity can be seen on your face. Who knew that a person could love his home-town so much that he would just turn out to be it's Ambassador. I can assure one thing, Ambassador or not, you will always talk about and love Namhae the same way you did when you were just a little boy who came with a dream to make your home-town and family proud, and as you did. I assume Namhae was’nt a very famous place before but now, If i ever get the chance to come to Korea, I will defintely visit Namhae. Since that is where, the Pride of Namhae and my star, Choi San was born. You still has a lot in life to accomplish with which challenges will come, but I'm sure you will cross all those troubles in life and become a successful man in life. I once got to know the meaning behind your name, and why your father had put it, and i was truly surprised. Your father named you San because he wanted you to be a comforting hill for some people and for others an enormous mountain that nobody dares to challenge, and truly you have become that. Your life was such a beautiful adventure that I am proud to say that you deserves to be where you are right now. Your smile can make me smile because that is what kind of a human being you are, even when you are singing and dancing I can feel every single emotion in that song because, I know you make sure that in everything that you do, you do your best. After knowing about you and learning about how amazingly and lovingly you were brought up, I know that even if you are the biggest star, you will still be one of the most humble people I know. I thought “falling in love” was just a myth but meeting you, changed my mind. After knowing everything that about you, i don’t think i ever need to bring up the question, “what is so special about you? or “why do I love you?”. I have a lot more to say, but i can’t express all my feeling for you on a piece of paper. And I hope ATEEZ grows to be one of the biggest boy bands on the planet, because you people truly deserve it. Lastly, San thank you for everything, for your love, compassion and for the ever-loving love you have for your ATINY. Thanks for being that person in my life, who inspires me, spreads positivity, and shows how important family and friends are, and thanks for being my SANshine. For showing that there can be a bright side of life too and if you have a dream, never forget to chase it, just like you did and I'm proud to call you my role model, thanks for being my happy place and bringing happiness into my life. 1. What takes up too much of your time?

Daydreaming about fic possibilities and what I could do with my life if I had the ability to create art.

2. What makes your day better?

Two things: my fiance and laughing.

3. What’s the best thing to happen to you today?

My cat laid on top of me and purred really loud!

4. What fictional place would you like to go to?

One that I have yet to put into writing.

5. Are you good at giving advice?

It depends. I’m pretty good at it in general, but each situation is unique and anyone who takes my advice knows that I have a disclaimer stating that I am not responsible for anything that happens if my advice is applied...just as a precaution lol

6. Do you have any mental illness?

No clue.

7. Have you ever experienced sleep paralysis?

Yes and it’s terrifying!! I mean, one time I was able to make my head shake, but my fiance ignored my movement because I move in my sleep...so he thought I was asleep...

I don’t really have just one

10. What’s your dream date?

My dream date is my fiance. HAHA! (It’s true..) 😂

But no, my dream date is being picked up at hotel in a big city <me wearing a very nice dress, my date wearing a tux or suit> and us going out for a ‘night on the town’. We would dine at a 5-star restaurant and then walk around downtown until we came to a romantic place. My date would then ask me to dance even there’s no music because ‘the music is in our hearts'. And then he would take me back to my room and leave me at the door with a searing kiss.

*sigh* I love my fiance, but he would ruin my dream date because he can’t keep a beat to save his life. I’m sure he’d be able to make up for it somehow 😂

11. What do others notice about you?

They tend to notice I have a huge ass. They never really mention anything else that they notice...IF they notice anything else.

12. What is an annoying habit you have?

UM - ALL OF THEM?? I mean, I have so many that it’s hard to name them. Just ask the people around me and they’ll make long lists without saying the same thing as the other. #iannoyeveryone

21. What is happiness to you?

Happiness to me is being able to toss away all of my negative thoughts, just for a moment, and focus on something beautiful. It could be the feel of a cool breeze on a warm day. The fluffy white clouds against a light blue sky or speaking the compliments I think instead of just keeping them so myself. 

Happiness is something you continuously work towards...and sometimes you have to accept that being content in the moment is the best you’ll get for now. I purposely stop to ‘smell the roses’ and enjoy the little things because everything I know and love is in a balanced state. I want to enjoy the moments I have now so that, when things have shifted and there’s the sense of unbalance, I can look back and draw on those moments. Those little moments are so important to be able to recall so that you can continue to work towards happiness in times of sadness. (Sorry for the mini...rant?)

22. Are you going through anything right now?

Yes. I won’t get too detailed, but back in February I went on emergency hiatus because my dad has CIDP (emergency hiatus post here). He hasn’t had a treatment since February, so his ability to walk and do other things has gradually become much worse. It’s not something that many people have to live with for a long time...which is why I had my happiness rant above. Plus I’ve been trying to get a better job since I graduated from college in December 2018, but practically nobody is hiring. So that’s great.

23. What’s the worst decision you ever made?

There really is no ‘worst decision’ for me. I am who I am today because of all the decisions I have made both good and bad. So, for me to point out my ‘worst decision’ would be to say I have regrets. Which I don’t because I don’t have time for ‘what ifs’ and regrets. I only have time for helping myself and others to better themselves.

Gift shops.

I strongly believe in keeping my political opinions to myself.

Mentally, yeah. But I’m forgetful, so it’s ever-changing.

I say um, well, and like a lot because they make it easier to drag my sentences out when I lose my train of thought.

It’s kind of..besides the point now that I’m getting married, but at one point I ‘dated’ a guy who was almost 10 years older than me. I DODGED A BULLET WITH THAT GUY!! With my experience, I probably wouldn’t pick someone more than 5 years older than me.

I’ve always liked my guys to be slightly younger than me ( my fiance is about 9 months younger than me) and all my exs except the one mentioned in the above question were either the same age as me or a little younger. I wouldn’t date anyone born after 2000. Still doesn’t matter much since I’m getting married.😂

Retail. But that’s only because I’ve been in customer service so long that I have a lot of mannerisms that I have accidentally brought over into my personal life.

Just staying at the place and doing our thing while i have my head on their lap for example)

It's Hongjoong Day!

Happy Birthday Hongjoong!!~

Today is our lovely leader's birthday, everyone! I am actually a bit late to the party but what's important is to celebrate the day that he was born in!

You guys, I have no words to describe how great Hongjoong is. Not only is he a great leader, but also a great role model to all of us, just look at why he paints one of his nails. Not only that, he is an ace! He sings, he raps, he dances, he's a visual, he's a producer, man, he's everything!

I remember my first impression of Hongjoong, I found him very scary, not gonna lie. Seeing his Say My Name pictures really did give me the vibe that he was a tough guy.

But in reality, he's soft, funny, and a very loving guy. He loves the boys so much to the point that he even felt emotionally connected to them even before debuting. He was with ATEEZ in every step of the journey.

And so is he, guiding us in the dark path by producing and writing songs that we could all connect to.

I guess what I want to say is, Hongjoong, you are one of the most amazing people I've seen in the world. You've sacrificed so much for your members and us, and we are glad that you decided to follow your dreams.

You truly have a very talented and unique skill in songwriting and producing, Hongjoong. Not many are able to create songs that can have such emotional depth and connection.

You understand all of us as if we have met each other and known each other for years. Yet, we are really kind or strangers that just appreciate each other's support.

Your songs are what makes us keep going, Hongjoong. You are that melody that guides us towards the exit in this dark spiral abyss.

We love you for you, Hongjoong. Your sweet smile, your sweet personality, you being you.

We also hope you reach the goals that you've set for yourself. Whether that'd be to continue producing songs or other projects in the future -- we'll be here cheering for you! We will hope for your success and hope that you can reach these feats are your own liking and tempo.

And just like you told us in One Day at a Time; "Yeah, they can all try but they never break us ever" -- we will always be next to you too. Haters may throw dirt and obstacles may come our way, but we will push through it together.

bday boy - ateez San | cloudy

   today is San’s birthday. you hope that he isn’t too busy with schedules. Ateez will be having a comeback soon, and San would barely text you from how busy he was. San would, before texting or even calling you, spend a whole day with his friends, aka the ateez members. The company also bought a cake for him, he tried cutting while doing a live with his fans. You watched it, hoping to get a couple of chuckles from how cute he is while talking to fans. 

   After a very long day, of you keeping up with your boyfriend from afar, and keeping up with your workload of the day. Your job was also tough, but on a day as important as this, you couldn’t help but focus on San and San only. You walked home since you didn’t live far from your work. However, on the way home you saw a small but beautiful cafe from San’s favorite cafe that he always makes sure to stop by and buy some sweets for the two of you. You smiled softly before walking in and asking for the specific cake you saw. The owner of the cafe smiled and asked whose birthday it was. 

    ‘my boyfriend! the one that always stops by to buy some sweets for us, do you remember him?’ you asked. Although San had come here often, the owner has amnesia, so she doesn’t usually remember people. 

   ‘ah! is it the one that always has a different hair color?’ she owner asked while pricing the cake and you chuckled. San’s job always made him change his hair color, although he liked trying new things, it still wasn’t nice for his scalp. 

   ‘yes, that may be him’ you responded with a smile and the owner told you the price of the cake. You paid and left, saying goodbye to the cafe owner and heard a faint ‘wish him a very happy birthday for me!’ with a smile, you turned around and nodded, assuring that you heard the owner.  

    The rest of the walk home was extremely peaceful. You started to walk a bit slower so that the cake would remain in perfect condition. The small box swaying by your legs every minute or so. You finally reached home and unlocked the door to find Sleepy already in between your legs. Sleepy was a very sweet ginger cat, but she was mostly sleeping; which is how she acquired her name. 

    ‘hey sleepy, did you miss me?’ you placed the box on the kitchen counter and picked up Sleepy who deserved some love after not having seen her best friend for hours. You hugged Sleepy and pet her a few times before leaving her on the floor to finally call San. 

     Before you even reached for your phone, it was vibrating; a phone call from San. You smiled as your thoughts about him were confirmed once more; destiny. You answered the phone call to hear San humming a melody, a birthday song melody. 

  ‘나의 사랑하는 산에게 생일 축하해. (happy birthday to my lovely San)’ you whispered in between his melody and he giggled. You giggled too. This was San’s first birthday you were spending as a couple. But even with the distance.. it still felt absolutely perfect. 

   ‘I’m currently on my way to see you..’ San whispered and then let out a ‘shh!’ almost as if you two were planning a surprise birthday party for someone. Your heart jumped of happiness. You couldn’t help but smile and let out a soft ‘okay’ and then the phone call ended. 

    You hurried to your room and took a look at yourself, you didn’t look absolutely perfect, but you tried to fix most things. Such as your hair, doing a small touch-up on your makeup. And making sure that you smelled good, since San adored to give hugs. You smiled at your image in the mirror and noticed Sleepy go to your bed. 

   ‘Sleepy, how do I look?’ Sleepy meowed and lied his head on his paws. You tilted your head before turning around, ‘I’ll take that as a compliment..’ you said before walking into the kitchen and unleashing the cake from the box. The cake was absolutely perfect, it was small and simple, just like how you’d describe your relationship with San. Small and simple moments were constant between you two, but somehow, even the touch of your fingers in between San’s hair felt special. Simple things and small gestures always had such big meaning. 

    Your ears were suddenly blessed by the noise of your front door opening. San had the keys to your house, but this time the door wasn’t locked. Everything was set and simply waiting for him to be there. You turned around and saw the most beautiful man in your life. Your feet rushed towards him, and without any hesitation, you wrapped your arms around him. 

   ‘생일 축하해, 생일 축하해~’ (happy birthday, happy birthday~) you whisper into San’s ear, suddenly his whole body shakes from his chuckles. Then, San wraps his arms around you and holds you tighter than before, burying his face in your neck. You two stay like this for maybe a minute or two. No words being said, just close contact. Just feeling each others’ heartbeats. Just speechlessly expressing how much you two love each other. 

     -

    ‘the cake is delicious! I couldn’t even try the cake that kq bought because it was too hard to cut,’ San commented and laughed shortly, you smiled. 

    ‘I watched a bit of your vlive, some fans found out it was a one star cake... can I please go and punch whoever owns kq for giving you such a bad cake?!’ you asked, from your point of view, you sounded so angry that even San could feel scared. On the other hand, San chuckled and ruffled your hair whispering how cute you just sounded. 

    ‘I’m just grateful that I got to spend my birthday with the members and with you,’ San spoke softly before grabbing you by your face and kissing you on the lips. Once he let go of you, you placed your plate somewhere before returning to his lips. A slow kiss, quickly receiving a break because you had some coconut to swallow. San laughed and you whispered ‘ew’ under your breath and laughed too. San sat a bit straighter on the couch and looked directly into your eyes, ‘can I sleep here as a birthday present?’ 

     Although San’s wording and expressions didn’t insinuate anything sexually, you still felt your cheeks burn hot. Had you and San been dating for almost over a year now? Yes. Have you and San ever had sex? No. Have you ever had sex in your life? No. 

    You grew up in an extremely strict family, and whenever a girl slept over at a boy’s house, in your eyes, it meant that they had sex. And whenever a guy slept over at a girl’s house, it meant that they had sex. 

     But this isn’t fully the case. You’re an adult, with a job and your own house. And your boyfriend wants to sleep over at your house. What’s the problem? You didn’t know. 

   ‘I can sleep on the couch if you want...’ San spoke after noticing your thoughtful face. San knew what type of mentality you grew up on, and he understood it and always tried to make sure that you remained comfortable. ‘or, just not sleep here at all. It’s your decision,’ he smiled softly. 

     ‘you can sleep here.. with me,’ you spoke softly and San’s eyes grew a tad bigger, suddenly almost becoming a line once he smiled. ‘you’re my boyfriend, it’s your duty to sleep with me,’ you chuckled awkwardly and San laughed along with your badly worded joke. 

 - 

   Going to bed felt a bit different, San always left a small backpack with a change of clothes at your house in case he stopped by here after practice. He got changed into more comfortable clothes and even had a toothbrush hidden somewhere in the backpack. You also did your night routine, warm shower, taking care of your skin, brushing your teeth and then changing into your pajamas. Once you walked into your room San wasn’t lying in bed yet, he was just sitting beside it and playing with Sleepy, that suddenly seemed energetic. 

    You got into bed, not really knowing what to do, and San glanced at you. ‘I can still sleep in the couch, it’s totally fine with me.’ San spoke softly walking towards you and you shake your head. 

     ‘이리 와~’ (come here~) you say and San smiles, dropping his weight on the bed and slowly crawling towards you like a baby. San adjusts himself in your bed and you crawl towards him, hugging him from the side and you look up at him. ‘I like it~’ you say in a childish tone and San wraps his arm around you, his hand playing with your hair. 

     ‘i love you’ San whispers, and your sight darkens as you fall into sleep.
