A bit late, but I feel tumblr will appreciate my Minoan octopus pottery-inspired egg anyway
it was painted with molten beewax and dyed red, the wax removed at the end of the process - my favourite egg-painting technique!

Not carrot... A giga-carrot from a long past plot had eternally ruined them for him. At the mere mention, his stomach grumbled in protest.
Bowser offered a crooked twitching smile. His eyes darted between the plate, the princess, then the plate again. He jammed a broken laugh through his barred fangs.
Eat her snacks! She'll think you hate them if you don't. Then she'll hate you!
"That's SO... thoughtful of you, Peaches! You know NO ONE loves you--r cooking more then ME!" Butterflies and bitterness butchered his bumbling. Wiggling wavering fingers stole the largest cake off the tray. He glanced downward as if the pastry were ticking. A nervous bead of sweat swam down his cheek.
His claw punctured the crust; Bowser clenched hard as he lifted the cake to his lips. A whimper from his stomach echoed between them. There is so much good there, but the only scent his body allows through is the accursed carrot! He peered upward towards Peach once more. To delay it any longer would invite suspicion.
FOR PRINCESS PEACH...! DOWN THE HATCH.
It is agony. He is going to spit and brush his tongue against concrete the second she turns away...
But for her, Bowser offered an overzealous thumbs up. Ignore the tears in his eyes.
