THEY'RE SO SILLY
The baker and the chameleon...sobbing...
Nah, but I've been meaning to write this for a while. I haven't done much for the spouses of the mama Isa au. Actually, if y'all have any ideas for the spouses (or parents) let me know because I really need to do more for them and do more info on them
ANYWAYYYYYY YEAH <3333 Camilo finally built up enough courage and planned for weeks for this day lmao. They're so ψ(`∇´)ψ
LES GET IT
-----
Camilo fiddled with the small box in his pocket. He did his best to prevent himself from transforming into anyone else. Though, he knew Cereza would recognize him anyway. She always saw through his Gift, and always recognized him. No matter who he was. He didn't know how, maybe by some magic, but she always saw just...him.
He looked around. Waiting. Searching for her. He knew his family was somewhere nearby, watching him, waiting to watch him pop the question to her. Of course he didn't mind, it put him at ease that they were there for him, to support him. He loved his family more than anything, and he wanted Cereza to be apart of that.
Camilo reached in his pocket, opening up the small black box. He opened it carefully, looking inside of at the ring. His sister-- Luisa's husband, Oriano, had made it. Camilo asked after seeing the rings he made for Isabela and her husband and later Luisa and himself. Camilo was so excited when Oriano accepted, and he was even more happy when he had gotten the ring a couple weeks prior to this day.
His fingers traced the small etchings on the gold ring. It was the first letter of Cereza's name and Camilo's, 2 C's intertwined, along with the day they met. Camilo had a second ring on standby, in the hopes that she said yes. It had taken him weeks to get her ring measurement, because Cereza didn't wear much jewelry, especially on her hands. Mostly due to the fact that she was a baker, of course. Another thing he loved about her.
He fiddled with the box. He was half tempted to go inside Casita and ask his tía Lola when Cereza was coming. Of course, he knew she would come, she always did. But that didn't make him any less nervous.
He was terrified, actually.
He and Cereza had actually talked about getting married. And he genuinely wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. But he couldn't help but go through the hundreds of different scenarios. Scenarios of the best and worst case scenario. He wanted the best case scenario. For her to say yes, and they happily get married and she join the Madrigal family officially. He already had his mamá, Isabela's blessing, and the blessing of Cereza's father.
"Camilo?" Camilo jumped, shoving the box into his pocket and turning around. He was so distracted he didn't even notice Cereza had walked up behind him.
"Cereza!" He said, a awkward smile on his face. "You're here!"
"Yeah, sorry I'm late. We had a really big work order and it took forever for us to clean up," Cereza explained, shrugging. "So what's up? How come you called me here? Not that I mind."
Camilo glanced towards Casita, where he knew the family was waiting. His hands felt sweaty, is this what Mirabel's hands were like? He pulled on the fringes of his poncho, taking a deep breath.
"There is...something I wanna talk about," Camilo said, his face growing serious. Cereza faltered, her eyebrows furrowing. Camilo rarely pulled a serious face, so it was clearly something important.
"W-Well what is it?" She asked, her chest tightening. She couldn't helo but feel scared. She hoped Camilo wasn't going to say what she thought he was. Not after all this time. They had something special.
Camilo closed his eyes, taking another deep breath before grabbing Cereza's hands.
"Cereza, you know I love you," Camilo said.
Cereza laughed nervously. "O-Of course. I love you too."
Camilo looked down before meeting her eyes again. "No, Cereza, I really do love you. A lot. Ever since I met you and you agreed to go on the date with me. And...you've stuck around for the past 2 years. A-And I really do appreciate it and I love you for it," Camilo felt tears well up in his eyes but he continued. "You are one of most kind and caring people I know. And you know I care about my family more than anything."
Camilo pulled away, albiet reluctantly, and reached into his pocket. Cereza's eyes widened as it slowly dawned on her what was happening. It also explained why her mother was so adamant on her cleaning up before going to see Camilo and why her papá let her leave earlier.
"Camilo...?" Cereza felt tears well up in her eyes, and her nose burned, but she was anything but sad. She couldn't be more happy. "What are you doing?" She asked, half laughing in disbelief and joy.
"Cereza. You are one of the most important people in my life. You are one of, if not the best thing to happen to me since we moved here and I met you," Camilo said gently. His hands were trembling as he got on his knee, opening the box and revealing the ring, which shined in the setting sun. "Cereza Castro, will you marry me?"
Cereza had tears pouring out if her eyes. She didn't say anything, couldn't, her breath caught in her throat. She stared at Camilo, who furrowed his eyebrows. Cereza, not wanting him to get the wrong idea, threw himself into her arms. She basically tackled him to the ground, finally finding her voice.
"Yes, yes!" Cereza exclaimed, smotheeing Camilo in kisses. "I will marry you Camilo Madrigal!"
Camilo looked shocked, but quickly laughed, hugging her back. He carefully put the ring on her finger and kissed her. The two stood, and it didn't take long for the rest of the family to come out, congratulating them. Cereza was surprised to see her family there too. She had found it strange how only her parents were at the bakery and left almost immediately after she did, but seeing her siblings so happy for her made her so happy.
Camilo and Cereza were brought inside, where a party had been set up. It was a surprise to Cereza and Camilo, because initially, Camilo thought it was a small gathering and Cereza didn't even know. But they didn't care.
Cereza was immediately pulled into a hug by her parents, and her siblings bombarded her with questions about the now upcoming wedding. Camilo watched her with a soft smile.
"You just got engaged and your already oogling her," Mirabel said, holding her infant daughter in her arms. Camilo stuck his tongue out at her. But his younger sister was right.
"Yeah ok. Like you didn't do the same with Vasco," Camilo said teasingly, shifting into her husband before he quickly shifted back, and she rolled her eyes playfully.
Both Luisa and Mirabel and their respective husband, and even Antonio, were teasing Camilo, but the four were quickly shooed away by Pepa and Félix. Pepa had tears in her eyes and Félix looked proud.
"Ay, mi nieto," Pepa said, pressing a kiss onto Camilo's forehead.
"Abuela," Camilo whined, and Félix shooed away her cloud.
"We're proud of you Camilo," Félix smiled amd Camilo returned it, he felt proud too. He had been so excited but so scared. But he knew that Cereza was the one for him, and he couldn't be more happy that they were going to be married.
Pepa and Félix walked off, joining the rest of the party and Cereza joined him again, leaning in his arm. Camilo kissed her head, holding her hand tightly. He could feel tge ring on her finger and he looked down at her. It felt so surreal. He had proposed to his now fiancee, and they were going ti be married. It was like a dream. A dream he never wanted to wake up from.
Camilo's gaze was pulled away when he saw his mamá, Isabela, and her husband, his papá, Canelo, walking over. Isabela handed Isabela a bouquet of flowers, and hugged the woman tightly.
"I can't wait for you to be my daughter," Isabela said and Cereza smiled up at Isabela. Isabela fawned and fussed over Cereza while Canelo congratulated Camilo and praised him. The matriarch finally turned to Camilo, with tears in her eyes.
"You have to promise to take care of her, ok?" Isabela said, and Camilo nodded. "And take care of my grandbabies if you have any."
"I will. Just like you mamá," Camilo whispered, and Isavela felt tears fall. Small flowers sprouted in her braid, and she peppered Camilo's face with kisses before she reluctantly pulled away, being led away by Canelo back to the party.
Camilo held Cereza close, holding her hand in his. As the two joined the rest of the families in party, Camilo hoped that this dream would never end.

Hey all! I submitted this a while back and realized I worded some things poorly, so I thought I could clear a few things up.
I am not at all new to online DND, it's just in person DND I've never done before! Like I said before, I've played in a lot of online oneshots (I think about 12 or 13 now). I spend a lot of time on DND forums and subreddits and respond to ads looking for players, so I'm quite familiar with things like Roll20 and 5etools and tabletop simulator. It's just that I can be quite shy, and while I had a lot of fun in these games, I didn't make lifelong friends, ya know?
We had a discord night the day I was asked to DM and I brought up the possibility of doing it online, but my friends seemed keen to do it in person and I really want that too. We don't see each other often since we're all busy, so we want to use this as an excuse to all get together and hang out! We've already decided to shoot for the 28th as the day to hang out together all day and play (time off work has already been acquired from all parties except 1, who may have to drop out).
That night they also did ask me what materials they should bring and I (literally buzzing from excitement at the idea of getting to play with them) said maybe a bit too quickly "Oh don't worry, I'll take care of all of it!" Sooo, yeah. That part. Might be my bad 😅I HAVE kind of backtracked on that a bit since then. I mentioned something like "well actually it would help a lot to have something to take notes, and maybe bring your own dice?" and they weren't upset at all, just amused.
I also talked to them about maybe running a module, but they know I'm a huge DND nerd and that I have been making my own homebrew setting, just for myself, for years. I sometimes gush about it in our discord server and before they were just like "that sounds great sweetie," but now they say they want to play in that world! Which is. And I cannot stress this enough. STILL making me die of happiness to this day. I have the best friends in the world. <3333 And yes, it means more prep work for me, but DND is what I use to unwind and relax! Building this world has been the thing I look forward to most in my day, and now building it for THEM? Even better.
And on to "why $100"? Honestly it's a ballpark number, and one I'm not at all married to. I'd happily pay for all the prep myself! It's just if I'm solely footing the bill prep time might take longer for what I want to do. And I DO plan on using online PDFs or 5etools for stuff like the DM's guide, or monster manual. But I want to at least have a physical copy of the Player's Handbook for them to share, and maybe a couple sets of spare dice because if I know my friends at least one of them will forget their dice. And the PHB alone can be like 50$ if I can't find one used (which I'm currently doing. I've been to a used book store and game store so far, and I'm willing to keep looking.)
As for stuff like maps? I know I don't need them, and I've played plenty of theater of the mind games before. But I know at least a couple of my friends are more visual learners, and I'm an okay artist, while a couple of my friends are art majors and FANTASTIC artists. My plan is to get some construction paper and draw some maps I can reuse, like generic forest, generic tavern, generic city street- and get those laminated so we can draw on them with markers. And maybe if we end up playing more than once I can recruit my more artistically inclined friends' help in drawing more maps.
I've also DIYed a DM's screen out of old cardboard and duct tape, and one of those artistically inclined friends offered to bring her paints over and paint all our characters on it (They've been private messaging me on discord with character ideas and I love them for it).
I think that's about it! TL;DR: I have experience with online DND, but me and my friends want to play in person. We've already started planning for it. the 100$ was just a ballpark number and I haven't asked for money from any of them yet, and idk if I'm going to. If I DID ask for money it would go to things like a single PHB to share, spare dice, construction paper, laminating said construction paper, markers, etc. I know I don't need all the fancy schmancy books and minis and add ons, and wouldn't give WOTC that much money anyway. My friends and I are very very excited to play!!! :)
WIBTA for asking my friends to pay me for DMing?
Maybe a weird situation but hear me out. I (22F) really really love DND. I listen to shows like NAADNDP and CR and D20. I’ve played in a lot of online oneshots and tried finding a local group to play with but haven’t been very successful because between classes and work I’m always too busy.
A couple days ago in a discord movie night with my friends (all early 20s) we watched the DND movie, and my friends were super into it and kept asking me stuff like “Is this from the game? Can you really do that in the game? Was that a good dice roll?”, just being really into it. Later one of them asked if I would maybe DM for them. I was SUPER excited as I’ve always wanted my friends to play DND with me but never pushed cause they didn’t seem too interested. I said yes without a moment’s hesitation and started planning. But in the middle of planning I realized how much I really needed to buy. I’ve never actually done DND in person. At the very least I need a dice set, plenty of paper, something to use for maps, something to use as a screen- even if I forgo minis and the books and the modules and all that expensive stuff. Not to mention I would need to take time off work, because right now I’m going to classes 5 days a week and working 6 days a week and that 7th day is for staying at home in bed recovering only.
So I was wondering: would it be considered a dick move if I were to ask my friends to give me a bit of cash in return for DMing? Obviously not enough to replace the lost income from work, but maybe like $20 each (from 5 people)? Or maybe ask them to help buy some of the materials I need? I’m afraid to ask and scare them off the idea of playing, because I wanna play soooo bad, but also I am very much broke and might be putting myself in a bind if I try to do this all by myself.
What are these acronyms?

fucking clamp made this shit CANON and for what. u have seishirou and subarus ages EASILY in chapter 1 with subaru being SIXTEEN and seisihirou being TWENTY FIVE!!!!!!!!!! but yeah sure omg theyre the cute yaoi couple by the fanbase. A TEN YEAR AGE GAP but wow omg lets have subarus sister saying how cute it is that wow omg theyre together and trying to push them together. i wouldnt have as big of a prob w clamp putting it in there if they didnt paint it as wow love is love instead of seishirou being a literal fucking predator and even with how the reveal happened it was shown as a wow omg lets portray it as wow hes SO generous with subaru for not killing him and trying to fucking fall in love with him like... DIE. like the fanbase overall (i have most of the tokyo babylon fans blocked so 😌) paints it as omg wow its healthy or its toxic and idk i get its canon (unfortunately) but girl u dont have to do this, you dont have to post seisub all over my fucking dash and talk about how theyre idk star crossed lovers and how omg its SO tragic that they didnt get to live happily ever after. anyways teehee i hate hate hate seisub

The wedding had been a flurry of handshakes and hugs and compliments and good luck wishes. As incredible as the day had been, by the time the night was over, all you wanted to do was fall into bed with your husband.
Now you two were sitting on the bed, and you were unlacing your dress and sliding off your heels while he was unbuttoning his shirt and taking off his belt.
“Did I tell you how gorgeous you looked tonight?” He said, breaking the comfortable silence of the room. You chuckled.
“Once or twice. You looked rather dashing yourself, you know.” You said, walking up to the closet to hang your dress for safe keeping. You smiled softly at the dress, brushing your hand gently down to lace detailing on the skirt. You felt Harry’s arms wrap around your waist and he rested his chin in the crook of your neck.
“I love you so much,” He sighs, placing kisses randomly on the bare skin of your neck, “so much more than I could ever put into words, Y/N.”
You smiled at him, turning around to face him. You sighed happily, running your hands along his bare chest. You rested your head in the valley of his pecs, placing a soft kiss on the skin there.
“I love you too, Harry. I truly believe you are my soulmate.” At your words, Harry’s smile widens, and he lifts you over his shoulder. You squeal, grabbing at his back for some kind of stability. He flopped you down on the bed and hovered over you. He stared at you lovingly, and your cheeks hurt from how much you were smiling. He leaned down, and you thought he was going to kiss you on the lips, but he kissed his way down your body to your stomach. You thought he was going to keep moving his way down your body, and you were about to tell him you were too tired when he started to tickle your sides. You let out a loud squeal and tried to push him away, but he was much stronger than you and barely wavered when you pushed at his shoulders.
“Harry! Stop baby please!” You let out through laughs and giggles, “Baby I’m going to pee on this fucking bed if you don’t stop! Let me go!”
He chuckled, finally relenting his assault, and ran his hands back up your body so that he was hovering over you once again. You smiled at him, your face felt warm and you were heaving breaths.
“You know, if I wasn’t so knackered, you’d be panting and squealing for a whole other reason.” He whispered into your ear, pulling away with a smirk. Your breath hitched, and you rolled your lips into your mouth for a moment. You sighed sleepily, pushing him onto his back and rolling on top of him.
“I’m glad we’re on the same page,” You said, placing your head on his chest and planting a kiss on his jaw, “I don’t think I could’ve stood up much longer.” He chuckled, wrapping his arms around you.
“Baby’s too tired to even acknowledge my teasing? My god, darling it really is serious. We need to get you to sleep immediately.” You let out a loud laugh, pressing your cheek harder into him.
“Exactly, Mr. Superstar, which is why it is imperative we sleep now, so you can make me squeal and pant all you want tomorrow morning.” You said, yawning and pressing your arms closer to him.
“Oh, Mrs. Styles, I’ll be sure to hold you to that bright and early.” He said, pressing a final kiss to your head before the two of you drifted off for your first sleep together as a married couple.
...
not sure how i feel about this one, but i hope you like it!! sorry again for taking so long to get it out :/

Pairing: Hong Joshua x Fem!Reader
Genre: Friends to Lovers, fluff, angst
Warning: mentions of a toxic relationship, loneliness, language
WC: 3.6K
A/N: Happy Holidays @yutacrush!!! You absolutely amazing bean!! ily SO MUUCCCHHH! You are such a joy to be friends with and i hope this fic brings you even half of the joy you bring our group chat <3333
Age 10
“Sweetheart, this is Joshua. He’s our new neighbor.” The boy across from you stood before you, all smiles and cheer as you cowered behind your mother’s legs. You didn’t have too many friends in school and more often than not, felt isolated from your peers who seemed to almost look down on you. This boy was a stranger, a potential new villain in your life and you wanted nothing to do with him.
So when your mother left you in the room alone with him, while she and Joshua’s mother went to go have tea in your kitchen. You quickly dashed to the living room and snatched your favorite Whinnie the Pooh plushie off of the couch, and made your escape to the far corner of the room where you crouched down and hid behind the plush bear. As if Pooh bear was the perfect line of defense
The sound of soft footsteps hitting the hardwood floor had you cowering, covering your eyes as you prayed that he would just leave you alone. When the footsteps stopped you assumed that he had done as you silently wished, left you alone to continue your day in peace despite the wishes of your mothers. So you slowly pulled Pooh bear away from your eyes. Only for your eyes to meet the rich deep brown of Hong Joshua’s, the male who was now crouching down not even a foot away from you.
A small shriek left your lips as you quickly brought your favorite plushie back to cover your face again. Your reaction seemed to prompt a small laugh to leave the male, obviously amused with the situation.
“I’m Joshua, but my friends call me Josh!” He said, talking to you despite the fact that you were currently trying to disappear into the wall behind you. “You like Winnie the Pooh too? Roo is my best friend!”
At the mention of baby Roo, you slowly peered out and looked over at him with your eyes barely peeking out from behind the plush bear.
Age 13
“Joshua Hong, I swear if you don’t get out from in front of the tv I’ll make you regret it.” Your threat wasn’t as real as you wanted it to seem. After three years, Joshua knew that you were all talk and no action when it came to him. Which is why he didn’t even flinch at your harsh words, he knew he was safe.
“Your mom asked me to make sure you did your homework while she was gone, so turn off the tv and let’s work!” He was almost too responsible for his own good, at least when someone asked him to do something. Most of the time, he was just a goof ball and you honestly wish that translated over when he had ‘responsibilities’
Currently your mother was out on a business trip, so you were left alone in the house so she had asked Josh to keep you ‘in line’ since he lived right next door. Apparently, he was taking that request more seriously than you had expected.
With an overdramatic groan, you grabbed the remote and shut off the soccer game you were in the middle of watching. At your compliance, Joshua let out a small laugh.
“You’ll thank me later.”
“Yeah, seriously doubt that Josh.”
Age 16
“Josh! Seriously, that’s what she said to you?”  You were fuming, pacing around your room while your best friend sat on your bed. You had honestly never seen Joshua so...down. This girl had stepped over so many lines and you were livid.
“Yeah, and then she left. So...guess I’m single again.” Even his voice lacked the usual energy it had. It hurt your heart to hear him this upset.
You took a second to take a deep breath, calming yourself. Now wasn’t the time to be angry, that could come later. Right now, Joshua needed you more than anything. This was about him and the pain he was currently feeling. Your need to punch that bitch in the face could wait.
You joined Joshua on the edge of your bed, quickly wrapping your arms around his neck and pulling the male into a tight hug. For a moment he was limp in your arms, just resting his head on your shoulder. It was soon followed by the feeling of his arms wrapping around your waist, his hands gripping tightly at the fabric of your shirt as he clung to you.
This wasn’t the first time you had seen Joshua cry, and it surely wouldn’t be the last, but it never got any less painful. Your heart ached for your friend, the feeling growing stronger as you felt moisture from his tears seeping into the fabric of your t-shirt. You hated it.
The only thing you could think was that you never wanted to see Joshua like this ever again.
A week later you were suspended for breaking his ex girlfriend’s nose.
Age 18
Over the years, your duo had become a trio with the addition of Yoon Jeonghan. He was...fun to be around but if you were being honest, a lot of the time it felt like you were being left in the dust.
It wasn’t that you disliked Jeonghan, you were just...jealous. You kinda missed it being just you and Joshua. It had just been the two of you for so long that sometimes it felt like an outsider had come in and simply stole your best friend.
Which is why you were currently sitting alone in your bedroom on a Friday night. Jeonghan had taken Joshua out for a ‘boys night’ as a way for Joshua to get to meet Jeonghan’s other friend group.
You were lonely, and jealous and that didn’t make for a good combination.
Your solution? Swimming.
The pool in your backyard was cold, but the chill was something you needed at the moment. The water encompassing your frame as you delved beneath the surface, the ice cold waters completely chilling your core. It was terrible, but it felt better than being lonely.
Popping back up to the surface for air, you flipped over onto your back and stared up at the stars above you. Counting them as you slowly drifted through the water. Your thoughts began drifting from the stars and back to your friends, it was honestly pathetic how you were acting. You knew that Jeonghan wasn’t ‘stealing’ Joshua from you, he was your friend too! It just so happened that he and Josh were...closer, and yet here you were acting like a child because of it. You felt pathetic.
“Dude, what the hell are you doing?” Your thoughts were quickly stripped from you as you heard the familiar, although muffled, voice of the person who had been running through your mind. Quickly you maneuvered yourself in the water so that you could turn and face the back door of your home where Joshua and Jeonghan had just exited from. Joshua moved quickly to grab the towel that you had brought out with you, while Jeonghan moved to the edge of the pool and knelt down to watch you as you swam over with a look of concern blanketed across his face.
“I think it’s a bit too cold for a swim, don’t you little Piglet?” The nickname hit your heart, it wasn’t a mean one. It was an old childhood nickname that Joshua had given you based off of your first interaction, how scared you had been of him. When Jeonghan had joined your friend group he just adopted it since Josh called you that so frequently.
You brushed off his question, ignoring it in favor of asking your own.
“What are you guys even doing here? I thought you guys were hanging out with Seungcheol all night?”
Jeonghan reached out a hand and you got the message, taking it as he helped hoist you out of the pool. He let out a small giggle as he watched you shiver when the cold air hit your skin. He quickly began rubbing your arms gently to try and warm them as Joshua rushed over with the towel.
“Well, Pooh Bear here said he was worried about you, guess his little hunch was right.” Jeonghan tilted his head to gesture towards Joshua, who surprisingly ignored the male in favor of wrapping the towel around you which thankfully provided some much needed warmth. Though that could also be coming from the feelings in your chest at Jeonghan’s explanation. It made you feel better to know that Joshua...hadn’t forgotten about you.
“Go inside and get dressed, we’re gonna go out for dinner and we need you to not die of hypothermia before then.” Joshua ordered, a stern look on his face as he spoke. It was rare to see Josh this serious, but you supposed that you did just go for a swim in the middle of a chilly autumn night so...it was to be expected.
“Anything you say Pooh Bear.”
Age 22
“I seriously can’t believe Jeonghan, our little Roo,  of all people is the first to get married.” You laughed happily. Sure this day had been coming for months but it was still just exciting to think about. You were doing your best to contain your excitement, but sitting with the two in Jeonghan’s dressing room as he prepared to stand at the altar and wait for his blushing bride, you couldn’t contain your excitement.
Jeonghan laughed along with you and Joshua as he straightened his bowtie...for the third time in the past 10 minutes. You could tell he was nervous, though you weren’t sure what for, you had seen the couple together and you could tell just how in love they were. It was quite adorable.
“I mean, I’m surprised too,” He confessed, glancing back at you through the mirror. “I always thought you and Josh would get married first.”
Across the room you heard Joshua cough loudly as if choking on his own oxygen, you flashed him a look of concern until he calmed down before turning back to Jeonghan.
“Don’t even joke like that dude. Chan would flip if he heard that.” Chan was your current boyfriend, he was sweet if not a little possessive. Something that both Joshua and Jeonghan had spoken to you about in concern.
At the mention of your boyfriend’s name you saw Hannie roll his eyes before reaching up to fiddle with his perfectly styled hair once again.
“Red flag~” He sang out, causing you to roll your eyes. It was frustrating that they were talking about this today of all days. You didn’t notice Joshua’s face harden in something that could only be described as irritation.
“If she’s happy with him then just drop it, Roo.” hearing Jeonghan’s familiar nickname warmed your heart. “Besides, this is your day. I thought you’d be happy to focus on yourself today.”
“Oh, you’re absolutely right. I’m going to bask in this. Doesn’t mean I can’t worry about my friends.
Age 24
To no one’s surprise, Joshua and Jeonghan had been right. Chan’s possessiveness had taken a turn for the worst. Asking you to cut off contact with your two best friends so you did the only thing you could do. You broke up with him, decided you would be cutting off contact and now you were driving away from your former shared apartment and making the hour trip to Joshua’s new place, hopefully he and his new roommate would be cool if you crashed on their couch until you found a new place.
Despite the fact that you knew this break up was for the best, it still hurt and you couldn’t stop tears from shedding while you drove. The liquid sadness blurring the road as you sped down the highway.
Once outside the door to his third floor apartment, you gave a firm knock. Eventually the door opened to the familiar face of Joshua’s new roommate, Seungcheol. You knew the guy fairly well as he’d been a mutual friend of Jeonghan’s and Josh’s during high school, you never really hung out with him too much but you knew he was cool.
Seeing your puffy eyes tear filled eyes, he quickly moved out of the way and gestured you in. With a small mutter about going to grab Joshua.
You took a seat on the familiar royal blue sofa, the plush fabric sinking down and pulling you in as you sat down. It was almost like the sofa was pulling you into a hug and you were grateful for the soft plush fabric. You had left your old Winnie the Pooh plushie in the car with the rest of the belongings you had been able to quickly pack after Chan had stormed out of the apartment.
You heard the soft sounds of speech as Seungcheol explained to Joshua what was going on, you couldn’t quite understand the words but it was followed by the slamming of a door and the sound of footsteps rushing to the living room.
All too soon, Joshua was in front of you and you felt the tears well up once more as you explained to him what had happened...why you had left Chan.
“He didn’t hurt you did he? I swear if he touched you I’ll go kick his ass myself.” You didn’t trust your voice so you simply shook your head, sniffling as you tried your best to keep a strong appearance despite the tears. It didn’t work, and he gently gripped your shoulders giving you a once over, looking for any sign of possible injury and letting out a sigh of relief when he found nothing.
Just as you had done during his break up in high school, his arms quickly wrapped around you. Pulling you as close to him as he possibly could. It was like whatever had kept your sobs held it was completely broken, and soon you were all out sobbing. A complete blubbering mess as you gripped his shirt and buried your face in his chest.
His hand lifted and gently patted your head, his other hand rubbing small circles on your back as you let out all your welled up emotions. It was all too much for you, everything was too much.
"You were r-right," you exclaimed between sobs, your voice muffled as your tears continued to stain his sleep shirt with your tears. "H-He told me...told me that..." Just thinking about it made your heart clench as you tried your best to continue. Joshua shushed you softly, trying to lull you into a sense of security so that you could calm down. He knew that you would get sick if you continued to wail as you did.
"You can tell me later, just breathe right now okay?" His soft calming voice hit your heart, but it was still quite a little while before your sobs died down. Once they did, you explained to him just what had happened. How Chan had told you that he didn't feel comfortable with you hanging out with Joshua or even Jeonghan anymore, despite you explaining that they were just your best friends and going so far as to remind him that he was AT Jeonghan's wedding.
Despite you being calm, you hadn't moved out of Joshua's grasp and the two of you had simply...migrated. Now the two of you were laying on his insanely comfortable couch, with you resting on his chest. It was far too hard to look up at him right now, your heart hurt too much and looking up at him was just a reminder. Right now, all you needed was just to be in his arms, the comfort of your best friend flowing through you as he did his best to comfort you.
"You deserve better than him anyway. Much better. You don't need someone who is gonna try to control you like that." He declared, his voice soft and calming as he rubbed your back. It was nice, it felt right. Maybe it was because it was natural at this point, the two of you had been there for each other through everything. "You can stay here as long as you like, I know Cheol won't mind. Hell, we'll even grab Hannie and go to help you grab the rest of your stuff."
You heard Seungcheol rummaging in the kitchen for something for a minute before joining the two of you in the living room and plopping a tub of ice cream onto their coffee table, along with two sets of spoons. He smiled down at the two of you as he did.
"Just think of us as your own personal bodyguards. I've got a few friends too that could help move stuff. My friend's Hyunwoo and Hoseok are built like they lift boulders for a living. They'd probably be enough to scare away any evil exes."
Joshua laughed softly at the mention of Cheol's two friends, glancing down at you with that soft smile of his. The same one that always warmed your heart in a way you couldn't describe.
"We're here for whatever you need little Piglet."
Age 25
"I am...so sorry, I didn’t mean to- I mean I just...” Trailing off, unable to think of the right words. You couldn’t look Joshua in the eyes, not after you had pressed your lips against his own...after kissing your best friend. You weren’t even completely sure why you did it, yet you had and you had also probably completely ruined the decade old friendship. Guilt welled in your gut. Out of everyone, you couldn’t lose Joshua. He was too important to you.
As soon as that thought crossed your mind, you seemed to all at once understand the cause of your actions and why you were so scared to lose him. Somewhere along the road, you had fallen in love...with your best friend. Your heart sunk into your stomach, if you felt like this for him then this was even worse than you thought. It wasn’t like Joshua had ever shown any kind of interest in you like that.
“You can do it again if you want.” His words caused your brain to freeze as if someone had frozen you solid. Thoughts raced through your mind as you tried to think of an explanation for why he would say something like that. Confusion etched across your face as your eyes hesitantly lifted from the floor to meet his. “I really don’t mind.”
“Josh, I just kissed you! I probably broke like, 30 laws of whatever best friend handbook there is!”
Your words simply caused Joshua to laugh, shaking his head lightly as he laughed. It was if you had just told the most hilarious joke.
“You know I’m in love with you right?” Well it seemed that Joshua was determined to take you off guard today. Though to be fair...you caught him off guard first.
“Since when? You never acted like it, or like...told me?”
“I mean, not for Han’s lack of trying. Did you really think he joked about us being a couple for no reason?” Now that he mentioned it, Jeonghan did make...quite a few jokes about the two of you just settling down together and they only got worse after you broke things off with Chan.
Rubbing the back of your neck in exasperation, your feelings being tugged in so many directions as you tried to comprehend the situation you were in.
“Okay that explains one thing but like, since when?” You had just realized your feelings but from what he said this had been...a long time thing. A small humorless laugh left your best friend, avoiding your gaze.
“You remember when we were in High school, and you got suspended for breaking my ex’s nose? Yeeeah.”
“That was...eight years ago Josh!” You were completely struck by this information. He had been secretly in love for that long? It would make sense when you truly thought about it, he hadn’t dated or shown any real interest in anyone after that year. As the pieces connected in your head, you felt Joshua grab your hand and lace his fingers with your own.
“Yeah, nothing’s changed though. Honestly i’ll probably never stop loving you, even if you don’t love me.” He gave your hand a small squeeze. It felt right, like his hand was made to fit with yours just like it always had. Maybe this was why Chan had felt threatened by Josh, maybe he could tell, maybe he knew where your heart belonged even if you hadn’t known at the time.
“Well, you don’t have to worry about that. I think somehow you’ve always had me.” You began, unable to stop yourself from smiling as you saw his eyes light up at your words. “So now, I’m going to kiss you again and then we have to let Jeonghan know that we’re not being stupid anymore.”
You didn’t give Joshua a real chance to speak again before you pulled him close and once again connecting your lips once again. Your free hand weaving through his hair and your other gripping his hand tightly. Joshua wasted no time returning the kiss, free hand grabbing your hip and pulling you closer.
In all your life, you had never imagined making out with your best friend, yet here you were locked in an embrace. You gently nipped his lower lip with your teeth before pulling away and resting your forehead against his own.
“You know, we could always just keep it a secret from Hannie? See how long it takes him.” you couldn’t help but laugh at Joshua’s suggestion.
“I bet it takes him a whole year.”
“I’ll take you on that, baby.”

As Long As You're Happy
I’ve been wanting to write this for a while, but then I saw that one idea with Akita, so I decided to combine the ideas and it turned out really cute! I hope you like it!
————————————————————————————
“Okay, are you SURE this is where we’re supposed to go?”
Sam looked up from his phone. “Lloyd, these are the directions she gave me, I’m just following them,” he sighed.
Lloyd and Sam had been driving around the downtown area for quite some time now, and admittedly, the two of them were starting to get a little irritated. They were supposed to meet Katie at 1:15, but that was a distant memory by now. Neither of them could seem to find the café she asked them to meet her in.
“You know, I don’t get why wedding planners insist on meeting up in coffee shops all the time,” Lloyd huffed. “Didn’t she give any specifics about the place? A logo or anything?”
“No, she just gave me the name and address,” Sam said, turning to look back on the GPS. “I know it’s got some windows and a parking lot….”
Lloyd smiled a little. “Windows and parking lot….very specific. Thanks, honey. I’ll keep an eye out. ”
Sam stared out the window. “You notice that we’re already sounding like an old married couple?”
Eventually, the two made their way toward a collection of small shops. On the left hand side, Sam pointed out a small little café. In a flash, Lloyd immediately swerved around the corner and skidded into the nearest parking spot.
“Thank. GOD,” he sighed relievedly. “I was about to just….”
Lloyd trailed off when he noticed his fiancé. Sam had his hand up to his chin and was eyeing the café ponderously.
“Sam? Is something wrong?” Lloyd asked.
Sam was silent for a few seconds, then said, “Well….I THINK this is the place.”
“…..What?”
“Now that we’re closer to it,” Sam explained, “I’m not sure if this is where Katie was talking about.”
Lloyd banged his head against the steering wheel and let out a groan. “We’re never gonna find this place.”
“Let me just look and see if she’s in real quick. I’ll be right back,” Sam said while climbing out his seat. He gave Lloyd a quick peck on the cheek, and made his way towards the café.
Lloyd sat in the car, blushing and smiling like an idiot. It had been, what, eight years since they started dating? At least a month since getting engaged? And yet, he still would act lovesick teenager when Sam kissed him. (Though he supposed it was better than staring unresponsive and bug-eyed, like the first time.) He couldn’t help it though. Sam just had a way of doing that to him. Even something as simple as a hug was enough to give him butterflies.
His stupor was short-lived.
THUD! “LLOYD!”
“Wah!” Lloyd was pulled abruptly from his thoughts by someone slamming into the driver’s side. The sudden impact was enough to make Lloyd accidentally hit his head on the ceiling of the car.
“Owww,” he grumbled. “Hey, what the h-”
But he couldn’t finish his sentence before being greeted by a familiar face.
With her hands pressed against the car, bouncing up and down excitedly, was a girl looking in to be in her twenties. Her dark hair had definitely gotten longer, and her heavy robes were replaced with a simple white t-shirt and jeans, but her scarlet markings were still present on her cheeks. She had a very primitive-looking brown knapsack on her back. Her sharp teeth were curled into an elated grin. Yellow eyes filled glee with were goggling at the bewildered ninja.
“Akita?!”
Lloyd quickly opened the door and climbed out of the car, only to immediately be pulled into a death vice of a hug.
“Lloyd! It’s been so long!” Akita exclaimed, tightening her grip.
“Hey, uh…it’s kind of hard to breathe,” Lloyd wheezed.
Akita let go. “Oops,” she said. “Sorry. I was just excited to see you again.”
Lloyd ran a hand through his blond hair. “This is crazy!” he said.  "How did you get here?! How’d you even know where to find me?! And- wait, are those Nya’s old clothes?“
She shrugged her shoulders slightly. “She let me borrow them,” Akita explained. “Something about ‘not sticking out in the middle of Ninjago.’”
“Yeah? How’s, uh….how’s that working out for you?” Lloyd said, eyeing her large wolf skin head-piece she was wearing.
“As for how I got here, Sorla and I managed to find some of the berries from the Traveler’s Tree,” Akita continued. As she said this, she took her bag off and pulled out a few small, yellow berries.  "They were a pain to get to, but it was worth it!“
“Woah.” Lloyd took one of the berries and looked it over. “I can’t believe you actually got these.”
“Of course,” Akita said with a slight smile, “it wouldn’t be the WORST thing if I was stuck here, would it?”
Lloyd chuckled. “Man, I can’t wait to show you around!  I could take you to Ninjago City! Or show you around Borg Industries! Or-”
“Or we could just….spend a little time together…..by ourselves,” Akita said. There was a slight change in her voice. It sounded almost….flirty?
Lloyd blinked. “Hehe…what do you mean? I thought you’d be excited to see everything.”
“Oh, I am,” she said. She had started coming a little closer to him. “I just…thought we can maybe…you know..” She winked with that.
Realization hit Lloyd like a ton of bricks. SHIT, he thought. For all those years, he had just assumed the small kiss she had given him was just a show of gratitude, but he was wrong. She LIKED him.
How the hell was he supposed to explain that he was engaged?
“Woah, WOAH!” Lloyd panicked. He held his hands up instinctively.
Akita looked confused and stopped. “What?”
Lloyd took a deep breath. “Okay, Akita. I really am glad that you’re here, and I’m flattered, but I just….don’t like you in that way.”
Oof. Even though Akita tried not to show it outwardly, he could still see a small bit of hurt in her eyes. Lloyd couldn’t help but feel bad.
“O-oh,” Akita said.
“I’m sorry, Akita,” Lloyd apologized.
“No, no, it’s alright,” she reassured. “I just….thought after what we went through together….”
“Well, it’s just…things have changed since we last saw each other,” Lloyd stammered.
“Changed? Well, yeah, it’s been years. Things change,” Akita stated plainly.
“N-not like that,” Lloyd backtracked. “I…what I mean is-”
“Lloyd?”
Lloyd and Akita turned their heads to see none other than Sam standing there, looking at them curiously.
“Sorry to interrupt,” Sam said. “I didn’t want to break up your conversation, but Katie’s there.”
Akita tilted her head questioningly. “Uh…who are you?”
Lloyd swallowed and walked over to Sam. “Akita…this is Sam. Sam…this is Akita. She was the friend from the Never Realm I told you about,” he explained.
“OH! Yeah! I remember!” Sam happily walked closer to Akita and stuck out his hand. “Hi, I’m Lloyd’s fiancé!” he smiled. “Lloyd’s told me a lot about you!”
Akita blinked. “Um..nice to meet you,” she said, shaking his hand tepidly.
“It’s nice to meet you too!” he grinned. “Aw, man, right now was a really bad time to meet you. We were about to meet up with our wedding planner.”
“Really?” Akita said, her initial energy gone.
Lloyd could only stand by and scream inwardly. This isn’t happening, this isn’t happening, this is not HAPPENING, he thought. He didn’t want it to break it to her this way!
“I’m won’t bother you two if you’re in the middle of something important,” Akita said. “I can wait until you’re done.”
“Oh, but you just got here!” Sam said disappointedly. “We don’t want to just kick you to the curb! Right, Lloyd?”
“Huh?” Lloyd got snapped back to reality. “Well we-”
“Hey, why don’t you join us?” Sam suggested. “It’s gonna be a while until we’re done, and we could use some external input anyway! You can order anything you want! Our treat!”
“Sam, I-”
“As long as you’re offering,” Akita said. “I’m not one to turn down free food.”
“Great!” Sam beamed. “Let’s go in!”
“We’ll be there in a minute,” Lloyd said. “I need to talk to her about something.”
Sam sighed. “Okay, but don’t be too long.” And he walked back into the café.
Akita walked up to Lloyd. “So. You’re engaged,” she said.
Lloyd’s blood ran cold. This was a disaster. He was sure she would be angry, but surprisingly, she didn’t look like it. In fact, her face wasn’t really showing any emotion. It was a bit unsettling.
“I-uh….I just-,” Lloyd stammered. He could feel tears start to prick up in his eyes. “Akita, look, I can explain! It’s been a long time, and things just….just HAPPENED with me and him and-”
“Lloyd,” Akita said. Her voice was…..comforting? There was absolutely no anger in her voice. The hurt he had seen before seemed to be gone as well. “Are you….happy with him?”
Lloyd hesitated for a minute, and then blushed. “Yeah,” he smiled. “I….I’m really, really happy.”
Akita’s blank face melted away and was replaced by a smile. “Well, then that’s the only explanation I need,” she said.
Relief flooded through Lloyd’s mind. “Thanks, Red,” he breathed.
She nudged him in the shoulder. “We probably shouldn’t keep Sam waiting,” she said. “Let’s go in.”
They started making their way into the café.
“By the way,” Akita piped up, “if you’re looking for a best woman, I’m available.”
“Actually, I was thinking of asking Kai to be my best man,” Lloyd said.
“……Okay, now we have a problem.”

Duet
Title: Duet Fandom: Dhani Harrison; Jakob Dylan Pairing: Dhani Harrison/Jakob Dylan Rating: Gen Word Count: 2054 Summary: “Anyway, you remember his cover of Must Be Santa?” “Oh my god.” In which Dhani is invited to do a Rolling Stone interview with a mystery person, allegedly an old friend he hasn't seen in a long time. And he is certain he won't get any sleep until he finds out just who that person is...  A/N: A dear friend of mine wrote a gem of a Dylarrison Jr. fic called “They’ve Trapped Us Boys” which made me low-key start to ship this ship. They I had the idea for this fic and let’s just say, I ended up giving myself a whole lot of feels. ❤ Thank you @szappan  and @savoy-brown-shoe for the kind support of this rarepair fic and lots of thanks to my amazing beta, @smittyjaws <3333 Anyway, this is 100% fluff, so please enjoy ❤
(links to AO3 and @ill-be-your-tennessee-lamb‘s fic are in the reblogs!)
It all began, as these things have a tendency to, with a harmless enough enquiry.
Dhani had received an invitation to do an interview with the Rolling Stone magazine sometime late in November. Now, that was nothing unusual in his books. He had done his fair share of interviews over the years, in part due to being his father’s son, in part due to long being a musician of his own right. Now, this invitation, though? It caught his attention far more than any usual invitation to an interview would have done. Because it required some navigation, some shuffling dates around in his calendar – and someone else’s. Just that Dhani didn’t know who that mysterious other person was, that was supposed to be interviewed together with him.
Dhani reread the letter a good couple dozen times.
It said that he was to be interviewed together with someone he already knew. Well, he thought. I do know quite a lot of people…
Furthermore, it was someone also from the music field. Kinda obvious. He scratched his head. Still doesn’t limit the amount of people it could be.
The letter also hinted that it was someone he had known for a long time - long was relative, wasn’t it? – and someone he likely hadn’t seen in a long time either, given what was known to the magazine and the public. It was supposed to be a fun sort of reunion.
That last part was what Dhani couldn’t get off his mind. Sure, he was thrilled and excited that they were – hopefully – trying to do something nice for him, but... Just whom was he to be reunited with?
He knew that it was supposed to be a surprise. He knew better than to get impatient about this matter. And yet.
So, a few days after the date for the interview was finally settled on, he found himself unable to sleep and opened his messenger app.
And created a group chat with all the people he could think of that the Rolling Stone might want him to meet.
Dhani: Hi :) Any of you doing a Rolling Stone interview with a mysterious other person sometime mid-December?
Kris: Wtf mate it’s like 2am
Dhani: 2am where you are, perhaps
Kris: That’s fair
Dhani yawned into his hand and replied immediately after Kris’s response.
 Dhani: 4am where I am
James: Not the one you’re looking for, btw. Sorry, pal
Dan: Nope
James: Want me to make enquiries?
Dhani: Nah, they probably won’t like that. Thanks tho
Dhani: Seriously, though. None of you guys were invited to do a RS interview mid-December? With me?
Jakob: Go to sleep, Dhanster
Dhani: Don’t tell me what to do, Dylan
Rufus: lol
Lily: Seriously, could you guys be any more married? :’D
Jakob: You know that’s not possible
Dhani: GUYS. Did y’all just evade my question??
Jakob: You should stop fretting abt this Dhani, it’s gonna be fine
Dhani: *eye-rolling emoji*
Jakob: Srsly, go to sleep Dhani, it’s late af
Lily: Yeah, we should all head to bed now. Sleep well, kiddos
Rufus: night, my American friends
Kris: Nite
Dhani sighed and put his phone away. His friends seemingly weren’t involved in all of this. He should probably try to get some sleep instead.
Rolling onto his back, he pulled the covers up to his chest and squinted. There was still light coming from the other side of the bed. Dhani rolled onto his side and stretched so that he could reach farther across the body that was blocking his movement. Then, he swatted lightly at the phone emanating the light in question.
“Cat.”
“Hmpf.” Dhani pouted, but he only got a grin in reply.
“Who are you to judge?”
“Goddammit.”
But it was only a few seconds later that the light on the other side of the bed was turned off and Dhani found himself wrapped into a warm, tight embrace. He fell asleep within minutes, the mystery interview completely banished from his mind.
The day of the interview came sooner than anticipated. The usual whirl that seemed to catch everyone before the holidays didn’t spare Dhani either, and before he could say “oh, I should have fuckin’ known it”, he found himself seated in a nice room at the Rolling Stones’ headquarters, right next to none other than Jakob Dylan.
Very much embarrassed at how he had allowed Jakob to fool him, he just buried his head in his hands and groaned theatrically. Jakob only looked at him and snorted.
“I never told you I wasn’t the mystery person!”
“You told me you wouldn’t be doing any more interviews this year??”
Jakob scratched his chin. “Okay, that’s fair. But I said that before I was asked to do this with you.” He grinned and didn’t falter even a tiny bit under Dhani’s dark gaze. He shrugged: “It’s not my fault, is it? And I have a feeling that this is gonna be fun, Dhanster.”
“Oh my god, please don’t call me that in public,” Dhani just breathed out in a hushed voice. “Seriously, Jake.”
Jakob nodded. “Alright. But in turn, you’re gonna try to relax now, okay?”
This was the moment that their interviewer chose to appear. He greeted them cheerfully and explained that Tony, who had done some interviews with each of them respectively over the years, wasn’t doing this interview because the whole editorial team had sent him on a much needed vacation.
“Guy doesn’t know when to take a break. He hadn’t taken a day off in three years,” Ryan explained to them. He sat down opposite of them and quickly looked through his note cards. When he looked back up, the cards in one hand, his phone ready to record in the other, he seemed to notice something that made him halt, however. Two shiny rings. He grinned.
“Huh, didn’t know you guys had gotten hitched.”
Dhani’s breath caught in his throat. Jakob noticed and placed a calming hand on his shoulder.
“Would you wanna talk more about your significant others today, or-“
“Maybe later.” Jakob gave him a smile and they began the interview, Ryan all too eager to hear whether the two of them were appropriately thrilled to have met again and be able to do this interview together. Dhani actually found himself relaxing after a while and had to suppress a laugh several times. Judging by the twinkle in Jakob’s eyes, he felt the same way about the interviewer’s excitement.
Sooner than anticipated, the interview was over and Ryan invited them to play a song together. This, too, had been hinted at in the enquiry letter they both had received last month, but Dhani hadn’t prioritized it as much as finding out who his interview partner was going to be. Now he wished he had.
“Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is always a favorite around this time of year?” Ryan suggested with a smirk. Dhani couldn’t suppress a snort and heard Jakob laughing next to him. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Jakob giving him a nod and turned around. Their hands brushed when he did and Jakob’s smile widened.
“You know that Christmas album my dad recorded?”
“How couldn’t I? You didn’t stop mentioning it that holiday season.”
“True.” Jakob grinned at the memory. And the holidays that year spent with his dad.
“Anyway, you remember his cover of Must Be Santa?”
“Oh my god.”
“Yes.”
Dhani gave him a searching glance, then gave in. He waved his hand at Jakob. “Gimme your phone, I need to listen to the song again to at least make an attempt to get it right.”
Jakob obeyed – all too happily, if he was being honest – and turned toward Ryan. “Can we get a couple of additional studio musicians to do this in, say, an hour?”
Ryan beamed like Jakob had just hung the moon. “Sure!” And, after showing them to one of the studios, off he was.
After Dhani was done listening to the song a couple of times, they started practicing with the studio guitars they had been provided with. It was fast-played chords and almost shouting the lyrics breathlessly into each other’s face as fast as they could from there on.
“This is insane,” Dhani said when they took a breather, but he was grinning, enjoying the silliness more than words could express.
“You know what kind of life you agreed to when-“
The door burst open and in came Ryan, a studio band they didn’t know, as well as two cameramen with their equipment.
It was a blast. That was the only way to put it. They made it through the song on their third or fourth take, but the second the cameras were off, Dhani collapsed into a fit of giggles and had to cling onto Jakob to steady himself.
“That was fun.”
His face was red and Jakob looked at him like he wanted to kiss him right then and there. Instead, he wrapped his arm around Dhani and pulled him up against his side. Dhani shuddered, but the smile didn’t leave his face.
“I should have hoped so.”
They thanked the studio band for the job well done as well as the fun that they had had, shook everyone’s hands and left to say goodbye to Ryan.
Jakob’s hand had long left Dhani’s shoulder and, after a tentative brush or two against his knuckles, was now firmly clasped in Dhani’s hand. They were smiling and their faces were still slightly red from singing the fast holiday song several times in a row when they left the room together.
It was their giddy and relaxed selves that ran into Ryan in the hallway. While they thanked him for the fun interview and jamming session, Ryan’s gaze wandered down to their joined hands and he smiled. Ah. He wouldn’t need to take Jakob up on his earlier offer to elaborate. He felt that he had gotten the right idea and wouldn’t ask – nor tell.
“You guys have a good evening, yeah?” He smiled at them and shook their respective free hand.
“Thanks, mate, you too,” Dhani smiled and looked at Jakob with a fond gaze. He gave a gentle tug on the other man’s hand and, after another smile and nod at Ryan, off they were.
Once they had put on their coats and were out of the building’s front door, he turned his head toward Jakob, only to find the other man already looking at him with a gentle smile on his lips.
“That was... a lot of fun, actually.”
Jakob grinned, just a tiny bit smugly. “You did choose your spouse wisely, after all.”
Dhani just gave him an amused look out of the corner of his eye. “You didn’t choose too badly, either, I’d say.”
It took them only two seconds before they were laughing once again. And just like that, despite the freezing evening temperature, Dhani was feeling all giddy and warm again. To think he had stressed so much about finding out who his interview partner would be until earlier today...
“C’mon.” A gentle tug on Dhani’s hand. “I think dad wouldn’t mind us dropping by. Wanna go?” Jakob grinned as Dhani just buried his face in the crook of his neck. And didn’t move away.
“Huh. Dhanster?” Jakob asked and lightly poked Dhani’s back with his gloved hand.
“Don’t wanna move right now. You’re comfy.” His words were barely audible, as his face was hidden in the fake fur of Jakob’s winter coat. His cold nose was pressed against Jakob’s throat though, and Jakob tried to shift away from it – but to no avail.
“Alright, then. Then I’ll carry you.”
“Nooo.”
“Don’t tell me you still have your so-called polka dot PTSD,” Jakob half-teased.
Dhani only groaned and Jakob laughed.
“We’ve been married for how many years now?”
Dhani finally pulled back from Jakob’s neck and made a face as though he was pondering the question seriously.
“Not long enough for me to get over the polka dots. Never long enough.”
Jakob snorted and shook his head. Taking hold of Dhani’s hand again, he squeezed it in encouragement.
“So- you coming?”
Dhani gave a plaintive sigh for the sake of drama (mostly) but smiled back at Jakob and, squeezing Jakob’s hand back, nodded.
“Always.”
