I absolutely adore Crowey and Hanna theyre the sweetest! Could you please tell us more about them? Like how did they end up together, was it accidental child acquisition or something else?

Thank you for the ask!! Tbh i just started going feral about my new little au these last few days so nothing is set in stone yet, but here's my current write-up for how it came about that I'm using for art inspo How post-s2 Crowley ended up with an unhinged Daughter

I'm thinking Hanna is a startlingly young but frequent Group Home (or whatever the UK version of a Group Home is) runaway, and during one of her bolts she stumbles across a spitefully morose Crowley sprawled in the grass at a park telling his tales of woe to some ducks or something. Hanna is pretty precocious and also likes Crowley's red hair and the odd way he sits and she has a favorite duck at that particular spot anyway. one which, as she informs crowley, is a better listener than the big brown one with the mean look about him who once chased her half way to the next bench over.

I imagine Crowley will aim for aloof and miss because he's always been helplessly charmed by weird kids, and will ask why the duck was chasing her in the first place. Hanna'll say it must not have liked her mushroom story, to which Crowley will give an "oh?" and Hanna will plop herself down next to our demon and launch into a passionate rant about her favorite fungi. At some point much later a social worker (or again, whatever the UK version of a social worker is sorry im from the States) will track her down (maybe the park is a frequent spot for her?) and drag her back to the group home. But as it happens the next few times she runs off she bumps into Crowley as well, be it by dumb luck or divine intervention who knows. They'll form a camaraderie and get up to some mischief before she's found again. I imagine she catches on to the demon thing pretty quick (she's as bright as she is nosy and Crowley isn't particularly subtle) and is ecstatic to see Crowley's eyes for the first time (before asking why he has eyelids and if he needs to blink). Eventually he'll ask once why she runs away, and she'll tell him the families that come to adopt kids think she's too odd, too underfoot, that she asks too many questions. so instead of waiting around to be left behind she just leaves. Its not so scary that way, she says. And suffice to say Crowley ends up a little attached and perhaps a little fond and perhaps doesn't want to have to watch the social worker drag this lonely kid away again. So he says if she wants she could maybe stick around. They can be something of a team, maybe. And he won't mind that she's odd, or underfoot, or that she asks so many questions. And that'd be that! Demon hand-wavey adoption goes through without a hitch, and soon Crowley's got a car seat in the Bentley and a tiny green step stool by his plants and a kid on his hip💕 So in short to answer your ask, it was not so much an accidental child acquisition as it was a rather intentional child acquisition

aria montgomery deserved better 2kforever like. in these first two seasons, her relationship with ezra is hard to watch (in more ways than one! i sometimes find myself rooting for them not to get caught, largely because i like and have sympathy for aria but also because the actors do genuinely have good chemistry. but then i remember how fucked up it is! that’s why the romanticization of this relationship was so dangerous!) - anyway. it was hard to watch and messy but she also had like. other things in her story that at least made her feel like a more fleshed out character. and i always see people saying things about how she’s not as kind as she acts like but she literally shows so much empathy to. most people. and her role as a psuedo caretaker/fixer in her family is so nuanced and interesting and informs a lot of how she interacts with ezra (she feels like she’s been forced into a more adult role, so she courts this adult ‘romance’. ugh.) and it legitimately could have been a nuanced and interesting story about family dynamics and the pressure on teenage girls in their roles in family and how that can be connected to grooming if it had been written that way but!!!!

anyway her story just becomes more and more entangled with Only Being About Ezra from what i remember. which is one of the reasons people kept theorizing about her being A but. i just see it as isolation (not total, she is obviously still very close with her friends, but there is a sort of disconnect.) and then they get MARRIED????? she deserved better for real.

New ETN Oneshot!

Hey there, my little Marbles! Don't worry, I'm still alive, and I come baring gifts! I have a new Escape The Night Season 2 oneshot out! Its called Rejoining Their Ranks and its an AU following what I think might've happened if Jesse was saved instead of DeStorm.

This oneshot's been on my mind for a while now and I had a whale of a time writing it.

One of the moments in Escape the Night that really sticks with me is when Tana and Justine are voted into the first challenge during All-Stars, and everyone just kinda goes, "Okay bye Tana, we'll miss you!"

Nobody has any faith in her. They all just wish her well and tell Justine that they'll see her soon.

Joey just goes, "When I see that the two people going in the challenge are Tana and Justine. I'm like, okay, Justine, we'll see you later." And while he did know that Justine was going to die, it still adds a lot of weight to the scene.

Not even Tana herself has faith that she'll win. She just wipes her tears and says, "She's going to beat me." Then Gabbie adds on with, "For sure, but we loved having you here."

Justine isn't some sort of challenge winning God. Heck, she even lost her challenge against Eva, which resulted in Andrea B's (and later also Justine's) death. But pretty much the whole group, INCLUDING TANA, just decides that she's going to die.

Tana was talked down to and not allowed to help the group so much in season 2 that she no longer believes in her own abilities and thinks that she is completely useless.

compiling my discord theories about the dead body in the trailers on a post!!!! these include both trailers we've seen, footage from all across S2 *AND* promo material from the show's insta (hanna's reels) so be warned for spoilers

what we know

jade and boyd are presumably rolling a dead body of a known character into town. we see a shot of their feet, a general shot of the wrapped body, and a shot of the funeral. from these pictures we can make a list of potential candidates

julie (white sole sneakers with white shoelaces in the costume as per hannah's insta reel, small build, light skin, her spot conveniently hidden from view in the funeral shot, death is hinted at all through the new trailer)

sara (costume shown in hannah's reel seems to match costume worn by the body under the wraps, small build, light skin, missing from the funeral shot, jim and ethan do not look too distraught in the funeral shot as you'd expect from julie or tabitha's death)

tabitha (white sneakers in the costume she was wearing at the end of season 2, small build, light skin, might have "died" in the town at the end of season 2)

from this information i'd bet my money on the body being sara's. but!!!!

my theory

i think it would be a little weird for them to kill sara off early in the season, and it also would be weird to spoil so much of the end of the season in an early trailer. we also get this scene in the trailer where julie is shocked to see someone who grabs her hand...

and that someone seems to be sara, not dressed in her usual style of clothing, telling her to keep quiet?????? idk i'm shit at recognising faces but adding up this information together i'm going to present the theory that boyd, jade and sara are for some reason faking sara's death. i think they dressed up a dead frombie or unnamed townsperson as her. what do y'all think

also it wouldn't even be the first time they fake sara's death or dress up a dead body in a yellow sweater to make it look like it's someone else LMAO (ellis finding trudy in fatima's yellow sweater)

edit: throwing in an additional sara shot where she's wearing another costume in the trailer, which seems to match the last screencap? (yellow sweather with white blouse underneath, similar neckline)

edit 2: coming back to this i think the costume in the reels might be from a flashback scene (her hair looks like it had more effort put in and like it's shorter, than we ever see on the show). the texture of the sweater in the picture of boyd holding the dead body also seems to match the sweater in that last picture rather than the one she's wearing in the reels

Matsson being a mirror/foil for Roman makes that scene at the top of the mountain even more heartbreaking. Roman can't forgive himself for laughing at Matsson's joke about Logan's death, for the way Matsson is playing little power games with Logan's legacy. The way that Matsson (and, thus, Roman) has no respect for anything real because nothing means anything. Because if anything meant something, Roman (and, thus, Matsson) would have to sit with it and realize how incredibly empty his life is, devoid of all seriousness and meaning. Roman may like a joke, he's told himself, but he isn't a clown. Really, he's not.

Ghosts at the theme park, the Hanna-Barbera school of business. Matsson's lines are almost word-for-word Roman's actual strategy for the proxy battle in S2. And now, in s4, it's too silly, Waystar Royco means too much. Logan means too much. And Roman should have realized it then, but he didn't. So he starts yelling.

thought it would be good to introduce the series into two parts and by that, i'll first start of w/ the basis of the series + classic!

what it is:

superbook is a christian animated show about two kids and a robot travelling back in time to learn about the bible. the protagonists, chris and joy (who are both neighbours and best friends), learn how to deal with moral dilemmas by experiencing them through time travel and demonstrating what they've seen on their journey in the real world

there are three shows in the franchise: superbook classic, superbook reimagined and gizmogo

as a collective, the franchise was and still is a well loved piece of animated christian media along with veggietales, the story keepers, friends and heroes and the greatest adventure

an introduction to classic:

• also known as animated parent and child theatre (s1) and personal computer travel detectives (s2)

• first started in 1981, ended in 1983-84

• the show is set during the 20th century

• classic was used as a project to introduce christianity to japan

• it was the first christian anime and one of the very first to start the isekai genre. (allegedly) its american debut was the first time in forever that a christian animated show went into syndication after davey and goliath in the states and one of the very first pieces of media to introduce anime to americans (and christians)

• originally, classic wasn't supposed to have the name "animated parent and child theatre". instead, the original name was supposed to be "the family adventure: based on old testament bible stories". this, of course, was changed to the current japanese title and in overseas countries, the show was either named "superbook" or "wonder book". sb's name was solely for the fact that it's a reference to the bible

• in 1979, cbn worked with two psychologists, young and rubicon, to determine what would work for spreading the gospel to japan. it turned out that animation/books were the best option and kids were one of the main sources of marketing because they would be open to the bible

• while it was airing in the us, most christian conservatives hated the show bc of its concept of two kids and a robot travelling back in time

• originally, it was supposed to be a japan-exclusive series. the reason? pat robertson (the creator) thought classic wouldn't be marketable outside japan because the show's originally japanese. it took cbn's marketing director, david clark, to convince robertson to have classic translated into english. while cbn was showing it to an expo in france, it was well received and cbn decided to do the english dub shortly after. the us debut was aired and watched in 10 million households

• the concept of children visiting places in the bible was unheard of during that time of (western) christian animation. it was mostly childlike characters and mascots that was telling children what to do, but not why they should do it (this was before sb showed up).

• (cont.) after sb's success, its sister show the flying house aired a year later, the vatican commissioned osamu tezuka to create the fourth anime about the bible and hanna barbera jumped on the bandwagon 4 years later by creating the greatest adventure which was the first christian western animated show that did the same thing sb did

• in japan, both animated parent and child theatre, personal computer travel detectives and the flying house are all part of what is nicknamed "the tatsunoko bible trilogy"

• the main characters' names were different depending on which geographical dub you were watching. for example, they were sho and azusa (jp), chris and aline (fr), luis and anita (es), chris and joy (en), chris and maria/ri (de) and chris* and susie (it) (*apparently his name was also ricky (?) in the italian dub)

• while she has a surname in the original japanese version, joy, in every single dub, doesn't have a specific surname like chris. her surname in the jp ver is yamato

• when it first aired in japan, cbn didn't realise the show was going to be a success at first. due to the airing, it had a plethora of 4-8 million viewers and the bible became one of the best selling books in japan at the time

• in international dubs, uri is written as chris' cousin. but in the original version, he's written as his brother

so that's pretty much all you need to know about classic! i got some of the information on the official fanpage for sb (no i'm not joking, cbn created a fanpage for the show while reimagined was still in development) so pretty much some of this is factual information

I am. Quaking over Crowley and Hanna cause AUGH they're so adorable. Getting up into antics! What do you think some of their adventures would be? Chaos at the nursery garden stores? Lurking in woods to find creatures? Sorry I just really wanna know.

First off thank you for the perfect reason to post this sketch!

I cannot even begin to imagine the terrors they rain on the general public tbh. Between Crowley still feeling jilted and Hanna feeling free for the first time, the limit is really their imaginations (of which they both posses quite a fair bit).

In fairness since this little au I'm simmering takes place pretty soon after the end of s2, they probably don't do a lot of REALLY outlandish stuff for a while. They'll stay local, probably spend time with Nina and Maggie and probably end up meeting the Them at some point. Crowley would also probably want to try and keep inconspicuous (hah) with heaven and hell looming over their heads and now with a squishy thing to protect. I LOVE the garden center chaos idea btw, shoutout anon, and Crowley's little pseudo Eden is definitely going to rapidly expand into a vibrant and terrified indoor oasis (skylights included). Shops in general are going to have to watch their backs (Crowley has a reason to go into many of them quite frequently now, and without his celestial counterpart to keep him from goofing off too much). Hanna is a big fan of the classic "run down the aisles of a toy store and rapidly push every single button you find" method of spreading foment.

Since Hanna hasn't had an opportunity to see/experience most of the world, I imagine they spend a LOT of time popping through museums/zoos/aquariums/etc. Crowley pointing out things he caused, things an... old friend caused, things that actually happened way differently but got recorded wrong. Hanna dragging her dad around and both of them getting WAY too into reading the information plaques for all the animals. Then seeing which animals freak tf out if her dad flashes his eyes. (The giftshops get terrorized if there arent enough fungus-themed objects, although there is always miraculously at least one). They probably break into a lot/if not most of the exhibits after hours to take selfies for Crowley's rapidly growing photo album. Hanna sits at the shark touch tank and loudly proclaims how smooth they are. And since im a sucker for I-Want-To-Share-The-Stars Crowley, they probably pop over to an observatory or break into idk, where they keep the telescope on the Canary Islands or something. And he'll tell her what he remembers about the Creation and what it feels like to hold a new star in your hand. Hanna will curl up against Crowley's chest and get lost in his voice and the distant glitter of a world her dad designed. They probably also commit crimes. Not major crimes, mind you, although that's due more to Crowley's occasional sense of "as a parent i probably shouldn't let you" than any unwillingness on Hanna's part. But she'll definitely help him move signs or infiltrate office buildings and other assorted sabotages. She 100% gets her own little version of the Fuck Shit Up Jacket, and whether he likes it or not the Bentley has decided Hanna gets to pick the getaway music.

It doesn't really count as demonic but Crowley DOES keep a bag of spare change and googly eyes for Hanna to glue to things at will while they're out.

But tbh i imagine the most trouble she gets into is if she's left alone with Muriel. Evidently Hanna has her father's talent for tempting angels into misbehaving or at least into not noticing that they are, in fact, misbehaving in the human sense. Crowley usually feels almost bad for the baby angel but, needs must. and sometimes he needs a babysitter. The rule is SUPPOSED to be that if Hanna is with Muriel, they DO. NOT. LEAVE. the bookshop (they always leave the bookshop).

At one point she meets a boy named Kian at a pub called the New Inn. Crowley very desperately wants her to not want to spend time with Kian for reasons he refuses to explain 💕

ETN Ramble: Season 2 AU

Right... I think this might be becoming a thing. I apologise now.

Anyway, hi, guys! Today, I'm gonna be rambling about a random ETN Season 2 AU I got when I was reading over my PMs with the lovely @rockonfishboy. I very well might write it and put it up on AO3, but I just need to get it out of my system first. So some quick context and TWs before we get into this: 1. Yes, I am obsessed with Season 2. A lot of the characters are very interesting and their dynamics are some of the most interesting in the show. Fight me.

2. This AU idea contains a ton of murder, a bit of stalking, torture and pretty much anything you can think of taken straight out of a horror movie (which is basically ETN, but WAY less censorship) and put into this fic. If you are triggered by any of the above (or anything in the tags that I may not have mentioned above), please do not read this post.

But with all that aside, let's go!

So this AU is based on what I call 'High School/College Horror'. If you need an example, think of things like Unfriended or House of Wax or Happy Death Day. Basically, the movie either features an event that took place at that time and that event triggers the story of the movie or the characters are around that age.

They may not be in college (depends on what exactly I wanna do), but to me, it has that same kind of energy.

Essentially, the AU revolves around the Season 2 cast in a huge mess; due to a massive misunderstanding on their part, Lauren died because of them at a party. In the words of Liza Koshy, Alex is single. And also, because of this, he's also now completely unhinged.

Because here's the thing; he thought he was doing everything right. He thought nobody would have to see this side of him, the side desperate for a normal life beyond his circumstances. He didn't have the best life, but with Lauren, he had a chance to overcome that, to escape it.

They took that away from him.

So his solution? Brutally torture and murder everyone, take their things and build a new life for himself out of the ashes he burned them down to.

Or force them into a death game or something. One of the two.

So what does he do? He makes a list. Gets all the information he can on Lauren's death and, from there, deduces who he thinks is the most-to-least responsible for her death.

From there, he will kill from bottom to top. That way, the people who are the most responsible will suffer more as more of their friends die.

...I swear, all he needs to be No Mercy Percy is a goddamn pepperbox at the rate I'm going. ANYWAY!

I think that one idea that would be really cool is that their deaths are based on their roles from Season 2. So for example:

Alex convinces Andrea her house is haunted and, when she's kinda went a loopy off of it, he kills her.

Alex kills Jesse during a break-in (IDK, Outlaws rob things, it made sense to me).

Tyler and Gabbie die in two of the most dramatic ways known to man.

DeStorm gets pushed onto train tracks.

Tana might have a liquor themed death.

Someone's having a Hitman-esque death.

Imagine Liza being baked into a pie.

Like, that kinda thing. I wanna give Stephen King a run for his money.

IDK how this list would look, but its gonna be wild. I have a feeling, if I do write this, its gonna be something interesting.

...God, I have a sick mind. But somehow, it made more sense than the Detective ramble!
