MAO Volume 8

With the volume 8 of MAO on to bookstores I feel it necessary a recap of its content.To make proper review too.

Below:Natsuno testifies about the jaki during the awful night

After the failure in Shiranui’s temple to save Masago the whole team listens to Natsuno.She recalls the night when the jaki struck down Sana, killing her and ripping her heart.Plus Hakubi immediately blamed Mao for the crime,thus branding Him as a traitor. Very soon Mao and Nanoka have a heated argument, regarding his obsession about the long ago dead Sana.

Nanoka after just feels it absolutely embarassing,wishing to make up for him.But the how turns it’s Mao who takes her to thier Romantic date:)

Some days later a series of murders gets publicly noticed,so Maonoka go to investigate,soon they save a young man from the attack of a ayakashi beast.The man is named kagami Souma,he tells them the beast is originated from a distant ancestor. And the arc goes with Souma intentionally luring Mao to an ambush,with such twist of event where Nanoka gives a fight against  Souma hereby saving Mao

My sense

Natsuno is an Interesting onmyoji,testifying to Mao team that the Jaki killed of Sana,and that immediately Hakubi had a weird role in to all the awry time.It’s a reliefe the knowledge Mao hadn’t kill her off.Then again the recall leaves serious questions :

a)How come Yurako has the same face with Sana?

b)Why is she the ally of Shiranui?

c)Why did Hakubi blame Mao for Sana’s murder?

Pause here.So we can understand the wholesome way Maonoka make up for each other.It’s mao proven a mature man,he goes first to Nanoka,their romantic date goes smoothly.All this has a maturity,the two reconcile,none keeps mad at the other.No more to the usual things taking place in Urusei Yatsura,Ranma 1/2 and InuYasha.

“No good deed goes unpunished”.This really got my attention too.

Now to the most disgusting sides of reality:

Maonoka did care for Souma and save him from the Beast using,however Souma’s obstinate to keep the Beast.And more,he’s willing to join Hakubi to become a beast user.So that’s why he lead the unsuspicious Mao into the Ambush,and pinned him with a Gokou tool the Puppet needle.This tool can manipulate Mao and turn him in to his  beast form. Such Anxiety.

Mao Rushing in the fight for one more time he’s deAling with needles user Kagari.”You think you can win against me using a Gokou family’s Cursed Tool?”,he asks her the Question.She replies ”You got it”,and a bit more .So with decision she shoots Him with the Subjugation Needle.

But Mao instanlty puts about almost a dozen of charms all around,who all work as barrier,even through they get pierced thorough they’re with a Reason.The New move is he deflects with the Hagunsei sword back to her. She scoffs, catching it easily, but she’s shocked when the needle bursts into flames and draws blood from her fingers. Mao coldly tells Kagari he has cursed the Puppet Needle and it will burn every time she touches it. Mao made a Spell on the needle,turning it to useless for Kagari.For the first time ever she wonders,what is really Mao?Mao now just gives her the Serious,Honest Warning.

Now her sister Ayame charges in.

My Comment:

”I am telling you to get out before you get to know how terrifying that Family actually is”.For the first time she wonders,what is really Mao? The fact he’s skilled in spells is one more surprise to her.Actually Mao doesn’t hold any grudge on her,he has deduced of how much unware she is about the Gokou.I notice she uses a honorific about Hakubi.Is she attracted to Him?If yes then it’s a factor for her ties with the Gokou.Since she believes it worths the time,effort for him She likes,albeit it’s a one sided crush.

But the worring twist is Ayame’s Decision.She talks with Cold,Rude to Him, asking him to reply.In the  arcs first part Ayame didn’t know who returned the curse.Now she’s about to know.I fear she will start a Brawl against him.In fact I see the Rumic formula,cause in InuYasha Inukag battled the Thunder Brothers, Hiten and Manten.Currently it’s these Sisters of the Hoshou Curse Shop.

To Beat Him.

Rumiko sama really keeps  us in such suspence.It's a reason more why I favor her:)

Recently the Ruthless assassin Renji didn't sweat at all.Having placed tormented fire bugs in Nanoka(to burn her instantly)threatens actually Mao to come along.

To Shiranui's residence.Mao tells Renji that he will come-only if he removes the fire bugs from Nanoka,if not he will kill him.

Renji accepts it and makes the bug leave Nanoka. Mao goes with Renji willingly, but tells Otoya to take care of things. Once he is gone Otoya asks Nanoka to pick up Mao's Hagunsei sword. But suddenly a turtle a turtle floates around the boat,turns into the huge beast Genbu.Which devours the fire bugs.

Renji tries to counterattack Mao. Mao aims to attack Renji's instrument-but the assassin warns him:That he did not take all of the fire bugs out of Nanoka,and if he continues to fight he will kill her.

(The Assassin thought he could prove badass>Lol)

With a single gesture Mao summons a column of water from beneath Renji's boat, trapping him inside and preventing him from strumming his instrument. Mao wonders to himself if he will have to kill Renji in order to save Nanoka.

Pondering

Renji had absolute,tight power on our Friends.He performed a Maximum Pressure on them.Would he really win ? *2

Not that easy!Cause Mao Zedong*1 the well knowing of guerilla warfare quotes:

"Don't squeeze the cat at the corner,persisting so she'll resist by striking on your face.Just cut her some slack".

That's right:If in a war you trap your rival  in a ringer,with Maximum Pressure,you didn't intimidate him.You just pushed him in Determined Resistance(depending on the degree of his High spirit).Now,here the cat is Dr Mao,the Onmyoji and boyfriend of Nanoka chan!

*2:If he’ll ever find out,that how close he was to grab Akanemaru.He could have a bit of success. He lost a fine chance:)
