In the colossal, cathedral sized water tank beneath the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, Turkey, several heads of Medusa have been used as pillar bases for the past 1.500 years. It is not entirely known where the heads came from, but they were believed to be taken from some other Roman ruin. The heads are upside down or sideways to inhibit the power of the Gorgon Medusa's gaze.
The water tank's existence was forgotten for hundreds of years, despite being beneath the Hagia Sophia. When it was rediscovered, explorers found fish inside of it.

Embark on a journey through time. All expanses paid.
You step into the time machine and dial in the year 1915 and the location of Istanbul, Turkey. As you emerge from the machine, you are greeted by the bustling sounds and smells of the city. The air is filled with the scent of spices, roasting lamb, and the smoke from countless tobacco pipes. The first thing that catches your eye is the towering Hagia Sophia, its massive dome and intricate mosaics…

But why, though? Sophia is the web between myths, the grail to the serpent, the mead of wisdom. Why shouldn't She be praised?
I think one of the most off putting things about Gnosticism is so many Gnostic men would react with the same disgust towards seeing Sophia as a Goddess the same way a lot of Christians do to the idea of Mary (Virgin or Magdalene) being in any way divine. Like even the Ecclesia Gnosticism catechism says male pronouns for God must be used as it holds a spiritual power and to use gender neutral or female ones takes that away. Sure, Jan.
