How do you feel about the other Greek Myth Retellings in webtoon? Like Hades and Persephone ficlets, Mythos Redone and Punderworld.
The only one I'm up to date on rn is Punderworld and it's been pretty cute! Sigeel is a great artist and I adore their work.
As for Hades and Persephone Ficlets, I've started reading it but haven't made it very far yet, I love the style of it though!
I haven't read Mythos Redone yet, but I'll add it to the list! The art looks very charming and cute :00 <3
Honestly I know this wasn't really part of the question but I think it's a shame that a lot of these comics often get a lot of harassment/judgment from the LO fanbase, they're all great comics in their own right and if anything, I think comics like LO should inspire more people to undertake projects like these, not discourage people because "you're just copying LO" because, first off, who cares whether or not someone was inspired by LO, and second, LO is also just fanfiction of Greek myth at the end of the day. That's the beauty of it - the styles and narrative choices are unique, but the recipe underneath is the exact same.
Either way, I'm hyped for Punderworld to come back at the very least, whenever that ends up happening. And I'll definitely be catching up on HxP ficlets and starting up Mythos Redone as soon as I can! <3

Persephone runs. He can hear footsteps behind him, chasing fast. Hears a voice yell "Come on, little goddess! You can't run forever!"
Tears fill his eyes, blurring his vision, but he continues forward, flees from the man behind him. Suddenly, there! Even through his tears he can see the gate up ahead, and he gets a burst of energy as he bolts for it.
Persephone hurls himself through the opening and trips over something, lands rough on the ground, tearing open the skin of his hands and knees. The hurried footsteps come to a stop and he turns, sees Ares standing just outside the gate, his face red in anger.
"You shouldn't be in there," Ares says, and Persephone shifts into a sitting position.
"Better in here than out there," is his reply, and Ares scowls. The man takes a step forward, a single foot landing inside the gate, and from behind Persephone comes a voice.
"What do you think you're doing?"
Persephone looks back at the speaker, and his heart flips in his chest, because standing there is Hades. Persephone has never met him, only heard stories, really, but he knows in his heart that must be the man standing before him.
The god is stunning, with milky, pale skin, and brown curls that are pulled up into a decorated updo. He's draped in black, with silver jewelry adorning his hands and ears, all signs of his status, but it's his eyes that Persephone is drawn to.
They're so dark, they appear to be solid black in the dim entryway, but as the man steps closer to the gate, they catch the sun and transform into rich, deep brown.
"I was just trying to help him up," Ares says as he gestures to Persephone, "I'll take him and we'll be on our way."
Hades's mouth twists into a sneer. "No. You'll make your way by yourself, Ares.”
Ares scowls, his hand clenches as he says “You don’t want to cross me, Hades. Just give me the boy and I’ll leave you be.”
And for a moment Persephone is worried that Hades will, that he’ll give him up just to have them both out of his hair.
And then the temperature drops.
“What is the domain you command, Ares?”
Hades pauses for a moment, like he’s waiting for the other to respond, and continues when he only gets a growl in response.
“War. Something so terrible, and so temporary. Humans can go years, decades, without war. Many prefer to avoid it. But death is not so fickle. It does not stop, it does not rest.
"It will continue forever, and when the final human takes their final breath, the concept of war will die with them. It would do you well, Ares, to remember where dead things go, and who tends to them in the afterlife.”
Ares' face twists in rage, and Persephone is surprised when he simply turns and stalks off without another word, looks back up to Hades to see him smiling, satisfied.
And then he looks at Persephone. He reaches out a hand, says “Come now, such a lovely thing doesn’t belong on the floor.”
Persephone flushes and takes the offered hand, cautious of the bloody scrapes on his palm. Hades frowns when he sees them, helps the other to his feet before cradling the hand in his own.
“I have some salve for these, if you’re willing to take a trip to my home?” he says, looking up at the goddess, and Persephone nods.
“I am. I- Thank you.”
Hades smiles. “You’re very welcome.” He holds Persephone’s hand as he leads them further into the gate, heading deeper into the Underworld.
Hades glances back at him. “What’s your name, little goddess?” And oh, that sounds so different coming from his mouth, more like a term of affection than the taunt Ares had made it.
“Persephone.”
Hades shakes his head, glances back again, like he can’t help it. “I already know your title, what I wish to know is your name.”
And Persephone stops in his tracks, pulling the other to a stop with him. The others have only ever referred to him by his title, no one has ever asked for his name before.
“Steve,” he says, and Hades beams at him, and it’s like a little bit of sunlight in this dark place.
“It’s nice to meet you, Steve. I’m Eddie.”
(Later, when Eddie asks about the flowers in his hair, Steve will stare at the coreopsis he'll pluck from his locks, and flush when the flower whispers to him love at first sight.)

Flash Fic: The Gardens of Hades
The gardens of Hades are barren when I come.
He snatches me from the sunlit lands and carries me to the underworld, a dark chasm lit only by the distant flames of Tartarus. His house is of black marble, and as he drags me through the shadowed halls, I try to empty my mind of everything but this moment.
I know the stories. I know that the gods have cruel desires.
Instead, he opens the door to a walled garden. A black pool glitters at the centre. Naked sticks rattle in the earth, but nothing lives here.
“This is yours, Lady Persephone,” he says.
Then he leaves.
.
I’m just glad Hades leaves me alone, so I don’t ask questions. I infuse the pool with light and call grass and asphodel from the dead soil.
When he visits again, he comes with a gift.
“I have brought you a servant.” A veiled shade follows him into the garden.
I wonder if he wants me to thank him for giving me a slave when I once had friends, a desert when I once had flowers.
I wonder why he took me.
Hades inspects a young shrub. “What’s this?”
“A pomegranate,” I say.
For a moment, I think he’s going to speak. Then he swallows the impulse and leaves.
.
On the day my pomegranate tree blooms, I find the shade sitting beneath the tree wiping her eyes with her veil. She says her first word: Springtime.
Little by little, she remembers how to speak. She talks about finishing this garden and moving on, the underworld blooming under my touch.
She doesn’t remember her name, so I call her Lethe.
.
My pomegranate tree bears fruit, but as I peel it open Lethe grabs my wrist. “If you eat, you will become a creature of his realm.”
I hurl the fruit at the wall.
.
It’s only a matter of time till my mother finds me.
Hades keeps sending gifts: servants, seeds, pruning-hooks and shovels. As the garden fills with life, so do the shades. The third time he visits, he dismisses the servants and looks at me with tired eyes. I wonder if he is always this sad.
“Your mother grieves without hope. Crops and men die, and no one sacrifices to the gods.” He sighs. “I am to send you back.”
Back to the home he took from me. Back to mother and wind and sunlight, but first I have one question.
“Why did you take me?” I spit.
He is the lord of the dead. He cannot sugar his words, as other gods might. “I need you,” he admits.
I think of Lethe, and to my surprise, I understand. I am springtime, but he is pain. No wonder the dead suffer, if that is all he can give them.
Before he can stop me, I rip open a pomegranate, and the juice is sour on my tongue.
The gardens of Hades are barren when I come.
But where I tread, they bloom. ---- I wrote this flash fic for the Pilgrim Artists' Festival, a small Christian festival of art, music, and words which runs every year in Tasmania's Huon Valley. The theme for the 2019 festival was "Grief and Hope", and I at once thought of Dorothy Sayers' poem, Rex Doloris, which imagines Hades as the King of Grief. This is the 500-word short story that resulted. I'd been looking for a way of retelling the story for nearly as long as I can remember, and this ficlet is the first step in that process. I can promise you that it won't be the last.
The 2023 Pilgrim Artists' Festival is now open for submissions of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, art, and music from Christian, Nicene-Creed-affirming artists, including children and adults, anywhere in the world. This year's prompt is "Beauty in the Everyday" and there is a 500 word limit on literary entries. There are also dozens of prizes available - check them out and submit here.

Flash Fic Weekend Event Part 1
organized by the @ino-supremacy server
Prompts: “It hurts.”/“I know.” & strawberry field
Title: Awakening
Pairing: GaaIno
Summary: The Lord of the Underworld picked his queen in a greenhouse the same way he would have picked a flower.
Rating: T
Word count: 491
Read it under the cut
In the greenhouse, there was no wind, but his robes billowed with each step.
Ino watched him through heavy lids. The humidity of the greenhouse lulled her mind, stretching past her defenses; she was dizzy, too relaxed, barely hanging on to the strong scent of soil and leaves.
At the back of her throat, Ino tasted rot. It drenched her. It drenched the air.
Gaara walked past her, and Ino rolled her shoulders back, tasting her sweat on her upper lip. Him. It was him who smelled of rot, she thought wildly, and her body sank deeper, her mind drifted.
A smile floated on his lips, fleeting.
And a part of her awoken briefly, terrified, gripping at her plants, clawing at reality.
Gaara’s fingers trailed on the table, fluttering, hunting. He hummed as he made his way between the potted plants, only pausing to admire the burst of colours of the flowers. Quietly to himself, he said the names of some of the plants before turning back his gaze toward her.
She fought against his gaze, and the overpowering rotting scent he carried.
Her eyes fluttered open, and she sucked in a deep breath. Weakly, her fingers searched behind her for support. They shook, they probed. They found nothing.  She sat down. And down, and down.
Her feet went through the ground, soil piled up on top of her.
She startled awake again, and again, griping at a drifting soil, her nails biting, black. In front of her, Gaara was now inches from her, towering over her. His pale eyes expanded, swallowing her whole.
“It hurts,” Ino mumbled through ashen lips, shivering, tears rimming her eyes.
She could feel herself dying, her body half-way through the ground. The soil shifted, ceding and receding, and it pulled and pushed and crushed her.
“I know,” Gaara said gently, and his hand pushed her farther down, to the underworld.
Later, when Ino woke up, she was lying in a field of strawberries, her lips puckered, reddened. She could almost still taste the strawberries on her tongue.
She turned her head, her vision whirling. The sky was wrong, too red. The soil was too dry, only the strawberries moved, while the rest was terribly still.
The wind caught the overwhelming scent of strawberry, shaking the rooted limbs of the plants, agitating their leaves.
Ino blinked.
She barely remembered her greenhouse; it pierced through her mind in flickers, a distant dream.
Her hands curled by her sides, digging through the soil.
Ino looked down at them. They were sticky, painfully red, from the juice of the strawberries she had eaten. She raised her hands to her face, blocking out a blackened sun, and when she did, darkness fell upon her and the strawberries.
“Welcome to the Underworld,” Gaara said, by her head.
She shivered as he combed through her long golden hair.
“This is your home now,” he added, and Ino’s soul flicked out of existence.

"So, what relationships inspire your Ebeness ship?"
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
^^^(Thinking more of them from the actual novel.) Because you bet your patootie Eb and Bess would go all badass and take on an ancient, dark force of evil and kick its ass together. (Note to self, make an oc to use Anthony Hopkins as faceclaim.)
Tumblr media
^^^I've never been an Addams Family fan--just not my cup of tea. But even I'm aware of Morticia and Gomez's relationship. If that ain't Ebeness, idk what is.🥺

Same as how your Hades and Persephone your grandparents had your mother Macaria and how most other godly children are born.
Although Thanathos your dad was a bit different but you haven't dared ask how exactly grandma Nyx made him without a father. Getting the normal birds and the bees talk was more than enough.
You are the child of Death. Everyone always assumes that you were adopted, but you are in fact Death's biological child, although they are unwilling to tell how exactly this happened.

Ok, with the "Hades" game finally getting a sequel and the "Hades and Persephone Ficlets" Webtoon going over the story, I present the following idea for Rick Riordan should he see it:
*cue Nico and Mr. D sitting on the porch playing Mythomagic*
Nico: And I place down Hades. And with the Persephone card next to it, they both now deal double damage.
Mr. D: Not a bad move, kid. You even changed your Demeter card from a Grass variant to an Ice variant.
Nico: I gotta say, this is nice. As much as I like hanging out with Will, it's nice to just spend a little quiet time with a fellow introvert.
Mr. D: Kid, if you've seen some of my parties, you would NOT be calling me an introvert. But yeah, you are one of the more tolerable campers.
Nico: Thanks, I guess?
Mr. D: You know, you actually remind me of myself when I was your age.
Nico: Isn't that just something old people say to feel young again?
Mr. D: I'm trying to compliment you, don't blow it. Anyways, we really have more in common than you think.
Nico: What, you like Happy Meals too?
Mr. D: No. Well, maybe if there's a good prize inside, but no. I'm saying you're not the first son of Hades to get stuck somewhere and essentially lose your old life.
Nico: Son of Hade- but you're the son of Zeus!
Mr. D: I wasn't always
Nico: Wait, so you got stuck at the Lotus Casino too?!?
Mr. D: Not exactly, kid. You see *places down the Dionysus card* this wasn't always my name
Nico: What, you mean this is about your Roman form?
Mr. D: No. This is something else entirely. My name actually used to be-
*places down the Zagreus card and the camera zooms in on it and the story begins*
I call it Kid Z: Mr.D Origins

I wanted to ask about Aphrodite and Persephone relationship in Eros and Psyche myth. I know it's probably not so supposed to be but I find it funny that Aphrodite sent Psyche to retrieve Persephone's make up box(?) but it's filled with darkness(poison?) that could put Psyche to sleep.
Cuz in context Psyche told Persephone that Aphrodite would like to borrow some of her beauty kit. So I've wondered if Persephone knew of Aphrodite's intention on harming the girl? Or did she expect for Aphrodite to be the one to open the box? Did Aphrodite request for a beauty box knowing Persephone would put something else in it?
Is there any explanation why Persephone gave that or is it just how her "beauty" is?
It just seems like Persephone tried to pull a prank on Aphrodite😆
I have to say that I've never really studied this story, since (unpopular opinion) I think that Eros and Psyche are a bit boring. From what I know, the only account of this story comes from Metamorphoses (also called The Golden Ass) by Apuleius. The text itself doesn't explain Proserpina's motive.
In the underworld Psyche repeats what Venus has told her. "The box was at once filled and closed out of her sight, and Psyche took it." Before she entered the underworld she had been warned about opening the box or trying to find out what was inside. When she did so anyway it says: "But inside there was no beauty-lotion or anything other than the sleep of Hades, a truly Stygian sleep." Is this what happens if the wrong person opens the box? Is the beauty-lotion of gods harmful to mortals? Or was the Stygian sleep in fact intended for Venus? After Cupid releases Psyche from the sleep he tells her to "hurry to complete the task imposed on you by my mother's command". He sees no problem with Venus receiving what is in the box, so it is probably not harmful to her.
But it is tempting to see this as Proserpina trying to pull a prank on Venus (the webcomic Hades and Persephone and other gods ficlets by Gau meo used that interpretation in their take on the story). Psyche was also told to decline the soft cushion and rich food that Proserpina would offer her. Does that mean that those are traps and that the queen of the underworld is a deceitful character?
But I also really like the interpretation that Persephone's beauty is poison to others. ^^

I think that I read an au from you with... uh... god Obi getting jealous of Anakin, who when he was little, promised Obi wan (in the form of Old Ben) something (probably like a vow or what not)...
I wonder if you might go into that AU some time...
also the new fishy au you got... obikin being silly XD
hello yes i think this is in reference to the zeus!obi-wan & ganymede anakin fic i wrote as i haven't written much god obi-wan (the other closest would be persephone!obi-wan & hades!anakin)
this au is actually on the shortlist of ficlets i want to lengthen (by 3-4k) and add to my prompt collection on ao3! it's already pretty long for my tumblr aus (2.3k) and i think it's a good stand-alone fic
but honestly the future of this au is just a ton of anakin trying to convince himself and also his godly partner slash ruler slash literally god that anakin should have autonomy
also god obi-wan decides to take padmé's twins because they're also of anakin and anakin promised himself to him so everything that is anakin should be obi-wan's. rightly so.

Part 1
Steve visits Eddie often. He loves being around the other man, loves how kind Eddie is, how funny he is for someone who rules the dead. He seems to love making Steve laugh and is always cracking jokes that send the goddess into giggles.
Honestly, Steve spends more time than he should in the Underworld, but Eddie has so many duties to tend to, it makes more sense for Steve to come to him than the other way around.
It’s nearly a year since he met Eddie that his joy is brought to an end. Steve is summoned to Olympus, is told that his visits are sending the world into chaos.
He didn’t know that traveling to the Underworld would cut the human world off from his magic, that the plants that bloomed with his presence would die off when the connection is severed.
Zeus bans him from visiting Hades, and Steve ignores the smug look on Ares’ face, the pitying looks from Hera and Aphrodite. Not all of the gods are here to witness his humiliation, but there are enough to make him flush with shame, to have him leaving as soon as he's able to.
Aphrodite catches him before he gets too far, her hair and robes both immaculate even as tears stream down her face. “Ares told them where you were going. I tried to stop him, but he’s… bitter. Jealous.”
She takes his hand, holds it between her own. “I can tell that your feelings are true, and that Hades feels the same for you. I wish I could help you, Persephone. You both deserve happiness.”
And like a stroke of lightning, Steve knows what must be done.
He thanks her and leaves Olympus, finds the nearest gate and descends into the Underworld. Cerberus is given three loving pets as Steve passes by, heading to the garden behind Eddie’s home.
The plants have been thriving thanks to Steve’s frequent visits, the flowers are in full bloom and the plants that can fruit are full and heavy with produce. He plucks a pomegranate from its branch, and stares at it as he remembers.
The goddess had found Eddie eating one on his third or fourth visit, and the older had stopped him when he’d gone to grab a few of the seeds for himself.
“You can’t eat anything grown in this realm. You’ll be stuck here if you do.”
Eddie had looked almost sad as he’d said it, and Steve had tipped his head to the side.
“Are you saying you don’t want me around?”
“No! I mean, I would-” Eddie stopped himself, took a breath. “You don’t belong down here. This place is far too dark, too bleak. It doesn’t deserve you.”
And Steve could read between the lines, could hear what Eddie wasn’t saying. He had ignored it at the time, let Eddie be right, but now? Now Steve knows that Eddie is the only one who deserves him.
Call him selfish, but no one has ever treated Steve the way Eddie does, has cared for him so, and he wants nothing more than to spend the rest of his days in the Underworld, side by side with the man he loves.
He tears open the pomegranate as a voice comes from the house.
“Steve? I didn’t realize you were here.”
Steve turns to face him, and Eddie’s eyes drop to Steve’s hands, dripping with red as he holds the fruit in his hands. His face pales and his eyes jump back to Steve’s.
“What are you doing?” he asks, taking a cautious step forward.
“Do you love me?” Steve asks in return. Just seeing Eddie has firmed his decision, and he stands, unwavering as he watches the other man pause at the question.
“I do. More than anything.” Eddie seems nervous, but his voice is steady, and Steve knows he's telling the truth.
“If I asked it, would you let me stay? Let me stand by your side for the rest of time itself?”
Eddie steps closer, now in arms reach. “I would. I would not turn you away, even if it meant my life.”
Steve’s eyes don’t waver from Eddie’s as he scrapes a handful of seeds from the fruit and shoves them in his mouth.
The juice is tart at first, but is followed by a delicious sweetness, something that reminds Steve of Eddie himself, and as he swallows, Steve can feel the shift within him.
Hands grab his face and the fruit falls to the ground as Steve grabs Eddie in return, both meeting in a desperate kiss. Magic flows between them, invisible threads tying them together in a bond so concrete, even the Fates themselves could not cut them.
They pull back after a moment, and Steve’s eyes drop to the red smear across Eddie’s mouth, something that is surely mirrored across his own.
“My wonderful little goddess,” Eddie mutters, awestruck as he places another kiss to Steve’s lips, more tender than the last.
“You're stuck with me now,” the goddess responds, sending them both into giggles, and yeah. It feels good to be selfish.
(Later, Steve will cut a deal with the rest of the gods. He will come back for half a year at a time and tend to his duties, leaving his beloved twin Demeter in charge while he’s gone, in exchange for Zeus’ blessing to have children. Zeus will have no choice but to agree.)

hello again! can you rec some Hades and Persephone! sterek au... it can be both ao3 fics or tumblr ficlets 🤭
sending lots of love <3
Hey!
Well, I have some greek mythology AUs. There is a post here and also these ones. I love, love, love this one. ❤️
The Flower That Blooms In Adversity by CelestialVoid | 12.2K
When Stiles Stilinski – the God of nature and harvests – is bitten by a viper, Derek Hale – the God of the Underworld – fights to keep him alive, taking him to the Underworld where he can keep him safe. However, the Heavens are not happy.
Of Love & War by Dexterous_Sinistrous | 9.9K | Explicit
“Why? Why can’t I have what the others have? I don’t want this.”
He wanted the flowers and festive wine; the vows of chastity and marriage. He wanted the menageries of animals that were given sanctuary in the temples of other gods. He did not want blood or pain. He did not want the fear he had seen in the animal’s eyes.
“War is an ugly thing when humans have nothing to respect. You will be that rallying point that brings stability to the chaos.”
Derek clenched his eyes shut, knowing that he’d never have a moment’s peace if his life was to glorify such carnage.
A Declaration Of Might by AllTheseSquaresMakeACircle | 14.8K | Explicit
Stiles and his father were moving to a new town, along with Scott and Lydia. The three of them being demigods, at times, tended to complicate things. Especially since Stiles' mother was an elder goddess. He only hoped that if there were any gods that nestled in their new town, they would at least be able to get along. As it turned out, there was one. And they got along more than well. And Stiles had no issue with that whatsoever.
The Longing Of Rebirth by MelodramaticSalad | 4.3K
The role that Derek played was guardian to the underworld, a place that chilled one to the bone at the simple thought of it. For the most part, he lived there alone with the souls of those that had passed to keep him company. The work was always busy and always thankless, colder than the ground one was buried in.
He longed for the warmth of the sun, for springtime when the flowers bloomed. Was his role a mistake? He'd always wondered if he was cursed and if this was how things would always be.

I’m gonna start posting some Ficlets from a possible future AU for the show Kaos on Netflix (please go watch it y’all, it is so good and needs a season 2 after that ending). The AU is gonna be called Godfall, it takes place after a potential war between the gods that leaves all of them mortal, and gives us a few cute couples.
My current plans are for a Eurydice/Caeneus ficlet, a Dionysus/Orpheus ficlet, and a Persephone/Hades ficlet. Please support them if you enjoy and I might post some full fics on AO3 for the show.
