ppl who defend Celestia/hate khaenri'ah are so funny to me bc like. how are you falling for in-game propaganda that is being actively proven wrong. Like even if you want to go the 'celestia is just morally gray'/'celestia is just doing this for the greater good' you would have to ignore the fact that they 1) genocided the entire dragon race (which are capable of both speech and culture as proven by neuvi's stash of illegally hidden vishaps under the opera house) and stole their planet and power AND tried to genocide Fontaine IN REAL TIME. ON SCREEN tried to drown fontaine.
Like i'm gonna hold your hand when I say this. Why would genociding Fontaine be for the greater good. Those oceanid people lived on teyvat for like a thousand years and nothing bad came from that. They were made of primordial sea water. Which is native to teyvat. Focalors literally said that Celestia is full of hypocritical assholes who punished the entirety of Fontaine for existing. And, if it was such a big deal, why couldn't they just.... make them human themselves? Like if they managed to create humankind why couldn't they just make Fontaine fully human?? Like you're gonna look me in my eyes and tell me that they needed to kill every innocent man woman and child in Fontaine bc they have an ego problem?? They stole the power of the primordial sea in the first place that shit belonged to Scylla!!! That's not even to mention what they did to dragonspine. Those ppl were minding their own business and then they got NUKED. Didn't send them a notice or anything. And orobashi??? they made that man khs like??? and for what! bombed tsurumi island, presumably bombed the chasm civilization, tried to trap the enkanomiyans underground to die so that they couldn't tell anybody that their gods STOLE the planet. But you want to talk about 'khaenri'ah deserved it they had weapons' bitch I'd have weapons too if a bunch of trigger-happy dictators could blow me up at any second what are you talking about??? As if every other nation doesn't have a literal WARLORD GOD protecting it. You're worried about khaenri'ahs mechs meanwhile venti is slashing mountaintops off. I'd want a weapon too jfc. You're gonna look at that and be like yeah celestia is totally in the right. Okay.

I love your blog I'm very Childe obsessed ever since he implanted himself in my brain wrinkles<3
ANYWAY. So, moth has front facing eyes.. eye? Whatever, anyway that means he's a predator so does he like stalk???
Like full on get all poofy and wiggle as he gets in position!! IF HE HAD PUPILS WOUKD THEY GET BIG WHEN HE FOCUSES? He's so silly I love him sm<33
Anyway, legacy stalking you around the house and pouncing when he wants attention 💯💯💯 So canon, I'm hyv.
moth's fluff gets SO poofy you don't even KNOW
usually Foul Legacy makes a point to greet you when you come home from work, even waiting in the adjacent room for you at times, but some days you'll return to a seemingly quiet house, only the sound of the clock ticking in your ears. you put down your bags... untie your shoes... walk through the hall... and suddenly the moment you step into the kitchen, Legacy pounces! he leaps at you, scooping you into his arms and spinning around with a delighted chirp before nuzzling his face into the crook of your neck, asking for scritches. he does his best to merely surprise you, not scare you, and if he does see you shaking he'll do his best to make up for it with gentle cuddles and nudges
sometimes you'll SEE him stalking you, his crystalline eye wide and focused and his fur all poofed up. Legacy doesn't stop just because you've seen him, either- he'll continue his slow approach, tilting his head and looking you directly in the eyes before he lunges. you just open your arms for a hug and Foul Legacy basically runs into them, wrapping his claws around your waist and letting out content rumbles when you bury your fingers in his lilac fluff. he wants snuggles and he wants them NOW, so you better not have anything planned, because Legacy simply picks you up and whisks you away to his blanket nest, settling you on his lap with a gentle croon and a headbump... looks like any work you have will have to be done with Legacy's arms around you

“Achoo!“
The cold was starting to get annoying.
Sunday sighed, biting back his frustration as he wiped his nose with a handkerchief and tugged his scarf to better shield his face. It was a good thing he’d decided to bundle up before leaving Penacony; otherwise, he would’ve already died of pneumonia.
The Planet of Dreams and Festivities was the very definition of a paradise. Everything, from the colors, the sounds, and the temperature was carefully maintained to never be too much or too little.
Sunday did not have such privileges here.
He didn’t remember when the last time he saw snow was. Back home, the closest he’d seen to a natural landscape was the Moment of Oasis, where tourists lounged about on the spectacular beaches - and even then, Sunday hadn’t exactly had time to indulge in such luxuries.
His nose was no doubt red from the cold, and his thighs burned from the long hike he’d decided to torture himself with. Wind battered his hood against his face, occasionally blocking his vision or smacking him. Sunday’s wings instinctively shielded him from the incoming snow that somehow made its way past his hood. He grimaced at the feeling of the ice catching and melting on his feathers, already dreading having to clean them out.
Upon reaching a somewhat flat piece of terrain, he gave himself mercy and allowed himself to stop for a break. His halo, his main weapon against frostbite, glowed gently with a heat not unlike a fireplace as he surveyed just how far he’d traveled.
Mountains upon mountains greeted his gaze, all jagged and covered with the same multi-colored snow that was the staple of this planet. He stood among fallen aurora, and down below, he spied a cluster of bright, warm lights that stood apart from the greens, blues, and purples of the snow: the cities, where he’d first arrived here.
Zastrugi was a planet infamous for its harsh conditions, rivaled only by the recently reintroduced Jarilo-VI. Even so, the people here prided themselves on their resilience, and gladly welcomed those seeking a challenge or a death-defying thrill.
In other words, it was a cemetery of the arrogant and the ambitious, and a perfect fit for Sunday’s current goals. After all, what better way to live a mortal’s life than to endure their struggles?
Sunday looked down at himself. His legs were weak, shaking and trembling from the hike, and no doubt were only kept standing due to adrenaline. His chest burned from haggard breaths, cut again and again from each frosty inhale. His head felt light. He wanted to die.
If this wasn’t suffering, he didn’t know what was.
It was invigorating.
Never before had he felt more alive, with the frost biting at his cheeks and the pain that ransacked his body. He could hear his heart beating in his ears, fighting yet strong and resilient and surviving. A soft smile graced his pale lips as his breath fogged in the air.
How strange, he mused. To find such joy in his own suffering… Was he always this twisted?
“I was wondering when you’d catch up.”
Sunday turned to see you sitting on a rock nearby, snow brushed off of stone so that you could sit without wetting your pants. One of your legs is propped up as you look out at the view, your bored expression proof enough that you’d been sitting there for a while.
You were a fellow traveler he’d met sometime on his travels. Sunday still groaned whenever he remembered your first encounter; he’d gotten swept up in a sudden storm and remembered too late that 1.) he didn’t know how to swim and 2.) his wings were not waterproof. Had you not dove into the raging tide and pulled him out, he would’ve drowned for sure.
Ever since then, you’d accompanied him on his travels - or, rather, he accompanied you on yours. Sunday, with what little he knew of the world outside of Penacony, knew not what his destination was, nor where he should head off to. Your goal was a little more simple - you wanted to see all that was beautiful in the universe.
Even if that meant climbing to the tops of unreasonably steep mountains or camping out in unbearingly hot deserts.
Thankfully, you weren’t opposed to his offer (begging) to join you - on the contrary, you were thankful that he had been the one to say it because in your words, you didn’t know if he would survive if you left him alone by his lonesome.
He still didn’t know what to make of that. For his own pride, he chose to ignore it for the time being.
“Were you waiting long?” he asked, gloved fingers holding the edge of his hood as to keep both it and the snow out of his face. You shook your head, your own hooded cloak flapping in the wind as you looked back out at the view.
“Not as long as I might’ve in the past,” you joked lightly. Sunday breathed a laugh.
Back when he’d first walked alongside you, he’d fought a long and hard battle with his own stamina. It was embarrassing when he thought back on it, how many times he’d have to ask you to stop for a break or even had to be carried by you to the nearest rest stop. Sometimes he wondered why you kept him around, but of course, he never asked.
But he’d grown stronger and more resilient since then, at least, he hoped he did - if not for you, then for his pride.
“It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” Your voice was rather wistful as you spoke, a little breathless and hushed, yet clear in the crisp, scarce air. “What do you think? Was it worth it?”
“I’m not so sure,” Sunday tried for a joke of his own - although, he wasn’t all joking. No matter how much he traveled, he could never get used to the feeling of his own breath scraping against his lungs as he heaved for air.
You, intuitive as ever, sighed knowingly. “Sit down. You look as if you’re going to pass out.”
Brushing aside some snow on the rock, you shifted over to make room for him. Gratefully, Sunday fought demons in order to stop his trembling legs from collapsing in from under him as he lowered himself onto the rock. That would’ve been mortifying.
His breath fogged in the air as he sighed, thankful for some rest. Around him, the snowfall was gentle and slow, and as the moonlight from Zastrugi’s two moons caught on each individual flake, ribbons of light came and passed like wisps of smoke.
An echoing click of metal caught his attention. He looked to his side and was greeted with a cloud of steam warming his face. In your hand was a small metal thermos that held what he assumed is either tea or hot water. You gestured for him to take it.
“Drink; you need to warm up before we continue. I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if you died of hypothermia.”
Sunday breathed his gratitude as he took the thermos. Your fingers brushed slightly, but with the cold, he registered it only after it was gone, and by then it was too late to respond. Still, his heart skipped regardless, and he turned away before he dwaddled too long, thankful for the cold that had already reddened his cheeks.
He blew gently on the liquid within, and took small, carefuly sips as to not burn his tongue (it’d happened before, and it was humiliating). He was delightfully surprised with the subtle floral tastes of white tea, his favorite. It was obvious that it had been sweetened, and the honey added was just enough so that it satisfied his cravings.
But, as Sunday drank away, the tea warming him from the inside, he thought to himself - he never told you he liked white tea specifically, nor did he ever tell you how much sugar he preferred. How did you know?
Had you, every time you’d taken him to a local cafe or restaurant, watched and observed? Had you remembered, from the few times you’d seen him order or make a drink for himself?
His hold on the thermos faltered as fire rushed to his cheeks. In his chest, under all those layers of cloth and cloaks, a dance unfolded, his heart tip-tapping away, a steady rhythm that was both nerve-wrecking and comforting.
Sunday inhaled deeply, wings fluttering ever-so slightly, and pushed his thoughts away to focus on the tea, nearly burning his tongue in the process. You only raised a brow before returning your sight to the distant city. A comfortable silence enveloped the two of you.
As Sunday gazed down upon the scene, a sharp ache in his sides and a stiffness in his legs, he wondered - was this how Robin felt, when she performed from that grand stage of hers. Sure, the aurora couldn’t compare to the lightshow that accompanied his sister’s concerts, but still - there must be some similarities. Here, at the top of this world, he felt light, as if nothing could ever touch him.
“O chosen one, who dared to exceed his bounds. Sever your wings, descend to the mortal realm, and walk their lands. See what this world is truly like.”
Lady Bonajade’s words rang in his head. Instantly a scowl twisted his features.
He’d never liked the IPC, and he wasn’t going to start now - especially not with a snake like her. He could still hear her taunting voice, that indifferent condescention presented as good-natured pity dampening his mood. There wasn’t much that could truly anger him, but it only seemed natural that it was yet another IPC Stoneheart that managed the feat.
But still, she had been right… much to his chagrin. As much as he hated to admit it, he had flown too high from the people he wished to protect. Even the Astral Express - whom he respected far more than Jade - had made it clear: Know your people before you decide what was right for them.
“What’s on your mind?”
Sunday flinched. You peered at him from behind your hood, face gentle yet your brows were furrowed ever so slightly.
“Ah, I apologize.” He lowered the thermos to his lap. “I was… thinking.”
“I know,” you replied. Shifting slightly so that you could lean back on your hands, you stretched your legs out into the snow. “You do that a lot.”
With a kick, you sent the snow flying into an arch off the cliffside, creating another ripple in the aurora.
“Thinking too much in a place like this… seems like a waste, doesn’t it? Try and take a break from your brain, and just- see. Look at where you are.”
Sunday raised an abdominal wing to block the multi-colored snow from falling into his thermos. Shaking the snow off the twilight feathers, he sighed, staring into what remains of the tea.
You clicked your tongue. Snow crunched, and cloth shuffled, before the cap of the thermos blocked his view. Screwing it closed, you took the thermos from him, a twinge of annoyance tugging at Sunday as he mourned the last bits of tea still left in there.
Before Sunday could complain, however, you beat him to it.
“Don’t give me that look,” you teased lightly. “We’re almost to the top - you can finish your tea there.”
The beginnings of a pout tugged his lip, but with a reluctant sigh, Sunday abided. Pushing off of his knees, he brushed himself off.
“Very well,” he relented, but not without fixing you with a flat stare first. If you saw it, you didn’t say anything, for you had already begun your trek to the mountain’s peak.
The higher you climbed, the harsher the snow became. No matter how beautiful something was, Sunday found that he didn’t care if it was pelting him in the face with as much punch as a bullet. His hood became his shield, and he hurried to keep in pace with you.
Because unlike him, who specialized in Imaginary and Quantum manipulation, you were a master of fire. Your footprints lasted longer than his for the mere fact that you seemed to melt through the snow, and as long as Sunday kept close to you, he wouldn’t be at risk into becoming a popsicle.
But that was easier said than done. Again, you were far more traveled than he was, and as such you moved at a much faster pace despite the melting snow’s attempts at slowing you down. Sunday was already dreading the next morning - he’d have to do a full-body stretch for at least half an hour after this was all done if he wanted his legs to be functionable tomorrow.
Every now and then, you would glance back at him, as if making sure he hadn’t been swept up in an avalanche - which, if it weren’t unfortunately a valid concern, would’ve damaged his already ruined ego. And each time, Sunday would meet your gaze, and offer the tiniest of smiles before returning to his suffering.
By the time you had reached the summit, Sunday was well about to pass out. The air was thinner up here, making it hard to breathe, and his exhaustion did not make things easier. But he had done it, and surprisingly, he had kept in pace with you.
He breathed as much as he could, swallowing what little oxygen he could grasp from the top of the world. A wheeze or two ripped through his lungs. Wordlessly, you pressed his inhaler into his hand, a pat on his back to congratulate him. Sunday nodded his thanks.
Once his medication had done its magic and he no longer had to focus on the struggles of breathing properly, he realized that the world had gone silent. Snow no longer pelted at his face, and the aurora had gone dark.
And then he swept his gaze, and saw the clouds below him. Somehow, without noticing, he’d passed through them, and entered an entirely different plane of Zastrugi. Here, there was nothing but sky, and the stars - real, actual stars, not the false ones created by the snow, danced in nebulae above him.
And there was you, your cloak flapping in the wind as you gazed up at the cosmos. With so little light, he could only see your silhouette, but he has the impression that your back is turned towards him.
You are silent, as you always are when you see new sights. In moments like these, it was as if your breath had been stolen, and it is all you could do to absorb the picturesque scene before you, engraving it into your mind to store for all eternity.
Once, Sunday had expected you to take photos of your journeys, as a memento. But you never did. No, rather, you would stand there, memorizing every little detail, and then return to your temporary home to paint it instead.
And he swore, those paintings were almost always more magnificent than the places they were based on.
Sunday took one last look towards the everlasting cosmos before coming up to your side. Rather than the sky, the image he drank in was you. Your expression was soft, yet awe-struck, much like a child seeing the world for the first time. There was always a sort of melancholy in your eyes, but also a love for everything that he could drown in if you allowed him to.
You loved the world, and it was that love that he adored.
You turned to him, noticing his gaze, and for a moment, it was if time itself had stopped. His breath caught in his throat, and words died on his tongue. All he could do was look into your star-speckled gaze, all the colors of the universe casting their light onto the two of you.
What expression was he wearing, he wondered? A smile, or perhaps… something else?
But then you raised your hand, brushing it against his cheek ever so slightly, and all of those thoughts disappeared.
A smile wove onto your lips. “You had some snow left on you.”
Sunday tried not to miss your hand as it left him. His fingers trace what you had left, his gaze becoming lidded.
“Ah,” he breathed.
The corner of yours eyes crinkle, and you turned to the cliffside. Leaning over slightly, you peered over the edge, the clouds obscuring the true height of the fall. Sunday blinked.
“What are you planning…” he sighed, crossing his arms. You chuckled, turning slightly to meet his eyes.
“One way or another, we have to get down,” you pointed out. Sunday’s expression fell flat.
“Don’t even think about it.”
Your feet toed the edge, sending rocks and snow tumbling down. “You said you wanted to experience life as a mortal to the fullest, didn’t you?”
“I wasn’t aware that included throwing oneself off a mountain.”
You shook your head, a grin surfacing. “You’re no fun, Sunday. Don’t you have those wings of yours? What do you have to worry about?”
Sunday’s answer was immediate. “You.”
“How sweet of you,” you commented as he came to besides you. “Well, then, you’ll just have to catch me, won’t you?”
Sunday squeezed his eyes shut, pinching the bridge of his nose. “[Name], I swear upon all that is good in this world-”
He opened his eyes. You were already gone.
Sunday swore.
Midnight unfolded behind his back, clashing with his white cloak. Without so much as a second thought, he dove into the clouds headfirst, shooting through the sky like a meteor as he searched for you.
The second the fog of the clouds leave, however, he was thrust into a world of color. He fell alongside the snow, and unlike when he was on the mountain itself, he became a part of the aurora. The colors nearly blinded him, if not for the fact that he had his sights set on one thing - your falling figure, so close yet so far.
He tucked his wings as to fall faster. The second he reached you, he grabbed you, arms locking around your waist and pulling you into him, where it was safe.
“You’re a fool,” he scolded as your chest met his. You laughed, throwing your head back to return to the aurora.
“And yet, you saved me all the less.”
Sunday rolled his eyes as your legs wrapped around his waist. His wings returned to their full wingspan, catching the wind and ensuring that your fall didn’t end in a tragedy. He swerved and turned and glided, dodging peaks and keeping his sights on the city.
And all the same, you laughed, nothing short of pure glee in your voice.
And he sighed, fondness squeezing him regardless.
Yes, you were a fool.
But you were a fool he couldn’t help but love.

A six-tatami room, my pretty castle
A secret place nobody ought to enter (yeah)
-GHOST FOOD
Tumblr media
I lied, have a brainworm and now i must spit it out
We know the confinement phase with the Wayne Family after the abduction, right? Right!
I raise: gamer reader with the mindset of 'Well, I get to live here for free (and I'd be a DUNCE to refuse in this economy,) so I might as well just make myself comfortable (or as comfortable as I can.)'
Dick and Tim can and will preen when you invite them to play multiplayer games. Casually ask them if they know so-and-so, then watch them either A.) listen to you yap about artifact drop rates in Genshin Impact (Tim), or B.) actively pull up their phone to google said game and immediately create an account (Dick).
With his analytical mind, Tim can and WILL enjoy Genshin's artifact farming and character building phase. Dude hates the open world exploration but is much more amenable to it if it's co-op with you, the favorite sibling. Thinks about rigging the game's code so you'll get the artifact drops you want, but decides against it because if HYV bans his account, then no more co-op exploration time with batsib :C. Dude might also enjoy indie RPGmaker games, especially ones with more complicated puzzles and mysteries.
Dick on the other hand has shit Genshin character builds. Tim bullies him for it. You build Dick's teams for him anyway because he has insane 50/50 pull luck, so who's laughing now? Prefers the open-world exploration aspect of the game with you, and his characters tend to run out of stamina and drown in the early phases lmao. Dick likes boss and domain runs; and to the trained eye, one can see that Nightwing might incorporate some of the more plausible moves of your mains into his fighting. Might also enjoy chill games like Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley!
Jason in one word is a genwunner. Dude is stuck in 'there are only 151 Pokémon' mode. Call him old-fashioned, but handheld consoles are the way to go for Red Hood: compact, can be carried, and you can play with them anytime and anywhere. When you pull up an emulator and explain that "Yeah, since the game isn't sold anywhere anymore, it's like a courtesy thing in fandom I guess, to distribute it discretely. Keeps the game alive. Still a form piracy though. Please don't tell Ba--uh, Dada."
We already know: Damian likes FPS games. Probably blocked by a lot of Valorant players with how sharp his tongue is. Still the best carry of all time though--only for his favorite, blood-related sibling (you). The rest can get sniped. Greyson and Todd, mostly. Would probably enjoy the newer Resident Evil series; though if you want, he would just about play any game with you. I imagine he'd like the horror, FPS, and art intersection in the Fatal Frame series.
Harmless secret and not-really crime with the new sibling he (lovingly) bullies (but no one else should bully)? Hell yeah. Watch him run through the damn mew glitch with one hand behind his back and catch you the three legendary bird Pokémon in record time. If forced to play a newer game, Jason would enjoy Bloodborne, probably. And HADES, especially if you mention how "Wow, you look a LOT like Prince Zagreus, big brother," watch him fold like a wet rag after giving you a noogie lmao. If you bargained really well, you could get him to play Zenless Zone Zero; dude would be a Billy Main. Also probably beats your ass in Tekken, so you bribe beg Damian to step in as proxy.
Because I play Hoyogames (and because you can co-op with up to three people in Genshin), I imagine Damian would also play with you. Being a child (despite being an assassin,) he'd definitely pick the opposite of whatever player character you choose. You chose Stelle? He gets Caelus. You choose Aether? He gets Lumine. You choose Belle? He chooses Wise. It's a comforting, smile-bringing thought to him, that you are siblings even inside fictional worlds. Any playable character with a canonical sibling that you get? He's getting the other pair. It'd be cute, except his team comps get messy, so you run it through tests. (All according to his plan, heheh.)
Cass is one step ahead of everyone and was probably the one to suss out your gaming hobby. She spots your collection of Visual Novels, and puts it to good practice to watch and read with you. Would probably enjoy VNs like Doki Doki Literature Club. Probably would also play Dungeon Exploration RPGs like Momodora and Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight. Has the uncanny ability to never get lost in game dungeons. Stuck in an area? Cass is on the case!
Bruce frowns upon too much gaming, so he regulates your game hours (and has a timetable for everyone) regarding which game to play. Alfred also enforces it. So does Barbara. You do get to wheedle him into playing Pokémon Sword or Shield with a bit of begging and "Look Dada, I named my Crobat after you!" watch him soften when he googles and sees that Crobat only evolves after maximum friendship levels. He might like psychological thriller mystery pointer games that can be played in increments like Fran Bow, maybe? And battle royale games like Tekken: Bruce has a competitive streak a mile wide and will not go easy on you. Is very smug upon winning. If you get him as a proxy in Tekken, Jason will bolt because he will not be betting about staying over for dinner. The match would be rigged in Bruce's favor anyway.
Barbara on the other hand, loves hack and slash games. Get her to play HADES and compete on who has the fastest runs, and she will take up the next few hours of the game time schedule, much to her smug delight. She'd also love the atmosphere of the indie RPG Horror Ib, I think? The whole surreal, comfortable horror interspersed with time limit puzzles really does get adrenaline flowing after all. Gets very alert when playing Chilla's Art games and side-scrollers like Tsugunohi. Subtle horror is very much up her alley.
All in all, isn't this quite a comfortable life? A bit lonely perhaps, you could say, but with a family who loves you above all else and endless games, what else could you need?
Stay with them.
They'll die without you, after all.

The interview between Kinoko Nasu (head writer at Type Moon) and David Jiang (producer Honkai: Star Rail) is quite interesting. Though Jiang is not a writer himself and he himself doesn't get involved in story creation, so I do wonder why he was talking with Nasu...
The interview was mostly about what's taken into account when creating FGO and HSR.
Honkai Star Rail's director is a huge Type-Moon fanboy and has always been influenced by the Fate series since he was a teenager - even/especially in Star Rail, while Nasu plays Genshin Impact and is currently playing the Belobog chapter in Star Rail.
And yes. Clara and Svarog are a reference to Illya and Berserker, we been knew.
There was some interesting commentary early on from Jiang that said that the story-writing and gameplay divisions worked separately, which caused issues early on that needed to be resolved. Receiving confirmation about this is interesting, because it would explain a lot of the issues present in Genshin Impact that are mostly absent in HSR - a world that feels totally divorced from the playable characters that live in it, and - up until Fontaine - a lot of playable characters feeling somewhat disconnected from the plot they're meant to be in.
It was also very interesting to see Jiang start talking about marketing, surveys, meeting modern trends, design vs generating revenue etc. versus Nasu talking about his thoughts as an author and the importance of prioritising your ideal creative vision even if you end up needing to take those things into account as well... and how FGO doesn't incorporate modern trends but instead tries to create something that will be meaningful to the players.
It was also extremely funny seeing Nasu talk about how meta wasn't an important factor in FGO (true) - he just wanted people to care about the characters, and Jiang going "oh yeah we do that too!" ...like a liar.
Something Nasu said in response to Jiang talking about how the character designers at HYV take surveys or add character elements that they think 'might attract a new user group' into consideration struck a chord with me though;
Nasu-sensei: This reminds me of an interview I read about "Street Fighter II," where the interviewer asked, "Why did the game include a character like Zangief?" And the response from the interviewee was, "Once you have a character like Zangief for comparison, characters like Ryu with an average physique become even more eye-catching." In other words, a creative work cannot only have popular characters. If we make a fetish black hole, the diversity of the world suffers.. In terms of results, even protagonist-like characters that are somewhat lacking in personality can have their own unique features.
Which speaks to an understanding of a need for variety in design and personality that HYV consistently fails to achieve. HYV has no characters like Blackbeard, Zhang Jue... or even Li Shuwen. It has pretty girls, pretty boys, and younger characters.
Jiang talked proudly about how HSR risks lowering their revenue by daring to include characters like Qingque and Guinafen in the hopes they might attract a new market, but Nasu says 'well, we think about the themes of our stories and what the characters need to be, as well as the kinds of characters we want to write'.
Nasu also plainly outlining the variety of different elements a writer needs to incorporate into a story - including the importance of each character having their own storyline to engage the players, super simple stuff! - is something I dearly hope HYV keeps in mind. HSR has less of an issue with these concepts than Genshin does, but there are several shared weaknesses between the two works.
I can only hope that HYV is taking notes instead of nodding like it already understands the things he's saying - because it does not, and it could stand to listen. I believe that the world Nasu created in Fairy Britain, despite having a lot less to it, is stronger than any single region in either Genshin Impact or Honkai Star Rail because it, the stories told in it and the characters there, are all thematically consistent and inform each other in interesting ways at all points during the chapter.
I think Belobog achieved a base level of cohesion, but Xianzhou Luofu was a shitshow and Penacony... better pick up soon. Haha. (Jiang describing Xianzhou Luofu as "captivating" though. Bro. Bro Xianzhou Luofu was terrible, what are you talking abou-)
I like reading Nasu talk about the writing process and the things he's enthusiastic about. I don't always like or agree with Type-Moon's decisions or products, but Nasu always strikes me as a down to earth guy that's truly passionate about what he creates and the works he consumes. Jiang seems to have had a lot less to say, though that seems to be because he is... as he himself admits, not a writer.
The two companies seem to have been in talks, so I'm curious to see what comes of it.

YUPPPP YUP i agree with everything you said. you touched on this with the praising but black swan is soooo vocal during sex. not necessarily loud, but she'll never hold back her moans and whines. she knows how much you love her voice and adores seeing your reaction to her, like your face flushing and you getting more needy. also, she enjoys using vibrators and strap-ons, but i feel like her favorite thing would be to feel your fingers or tongue. loves skin-to-skin contact and having you close because she can feel things like the temperature of your body and your rapid heartbeat. also omggggg. might be wishful thinking but she likes marking and being marked. leaving lipstick marks and hickeys all over your body, and running her hands over them later when they remain. im not sure how it would be for her because she's a memetic entity, but if it's different for her where the marks don't remain as long or something, i think she would like seeing the lingering effects on you.
anyways, arcane season 2... hope you're enjoying!! (or maybe not if its devastating um.. im scared) i want to watch it so bad but super busy with university rn, so im saving it for winter break. somehow ive managed to avoid spoilers so far!! surely i can keep it up until then ksjdksns. ive trained myself so if i see the word arcane or catch a glimpse of any images i scroll past it as quickly as i can
- 🌌
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS i forgot to mention it but she’s definitely vocal, i always write her as someone who’s not shy about her pleasure and if it affects you that much too? win-win. i know she has the hottest moans like woah… theyre low and drawn out and raspy im getting dizzy just thinking about it. last time hyv made a sexier character it was arlecchino. swan is so fucking sexy i would fluster and stutter but i could never fumble, i’f have to lock the fuck in because there is mo way im letting anything get in the way of me eating her out or gagging on her strap IDCCCC. she turns me into such a simple minded incel lord
back to what youre saying, sorry shhfng but yes i agree. physical contact is a must for her she just loves it a lot, especially feeling your racing pulse and how alive and human you are. i see her liking marking too, especially with her nails 😋 but she’ll pepper your skin with fat kisses and leave her imprints behind so you can look in the mirror later and remember how she lovingly fucked you dumb <3 i think swan would love getting hickeys on her neck even if they don’t last long. imagine her trailing her fingers up her neck and tilting her head to the side to feel the dull ache of the bruises your teeth left behind… kicking my feet rn
good luck with uni and arcane is definitely something, i havent watched the finale yet so im not taking chances and just staying off twitter until i do. we’ll see how it goes but im also very scared

Struggling to sleep but I've been seeing rumors that Dottore will be playable and get done kind of redemption arc like Childe and Wanderer.
Problem with that.
One: Childe never got a redemption arc. Hes just a very charming character who is a likeable antagonist. But also, as the 11th harbinger, hes still just a cog in the machine. Always has been.
Two: Wanderer's redemption is less about "redeeming" him and more about how this poor fucking guy couldn't catch a break and eventually he snapped, was manipulated and abused and tortured for centuries and is an allegory for abuse victims in general who acted out in horrible ways but are on the path to recovery after finding someone willing to let them have that safe space to do so. I see this less as a redemption arc because even as "Scaramouche", he HAD kind traits associated to him (like according to some lore he was kind to kids and elderly folk) so this story is about rehabilitation and recovery and less about redemption.
Three: While rehabilitation is overall the ideal for criminals rather than harsh punishment and imprisonment, when you have a character like Dottore--who, if Wanderer/Scaramouche is an allegory for an abuse victim in recovery--then Dottore is an allegory of an abuser. And not just any old abuser--a serial abuser. A selfish man who is arrogant and likes to hear himself talk who all lives in danger for his selfish aspiration for experimentation. A man who does not care for children or elderly people, only for himself... you can kind of see where I'm going with this. These are two very fundamentally different kinds of "bad"--Scaramouche was a bad person, yes, but he wasn't what I personally would consider to be "evil". Then you have Dottore who is evil, borderline a predator in behavior and in practice. I don't think he has any right or reason to be doing what he is doing.
As in. I havent seen a whole lot of redemption arcs for these kinds of characters done right. That's a big point of concern.
Another big point of concern is, I'm sure Dottore has his reasons for doing these things, it has yet to be revealed what those reasons are, aside from "Mad scientist wants to do horrible science" and for his own selfish gain.
His motivations don't line up for a redemption arc is what I'm getting at.
I really hope HYV doesn't. Try to redeem Dottore. Like I really hope they don't try. Just make him playable as he is people love a fucked up mad scientist you dont need to make every playable character the Traveler's friend PLEASE for the love of god.
And it's not that I dont have faith in the writing team to tell a good story (well... I dont exactly have full trust in them after the disaster that was the Sumeru Interlude Quest, but that's beside the point) but I have. Literally never seen a character who is a symbol of evil (i.e. the man has no redeeming qualities in personality, no apparent kindness or even willing to change his ways) redeemed in a good, tasteful, and thoughtful way. Like ironically I think the closest I've seen was... Teppei from Higurashi GOU/SOTSU. And that was incredibly muddied by the fact that Satoko herself became that kind of "evil" that wasn't truly redeemed by the end. Even that left a bad taste in my mouth.
So I just hope Dottore, if hes playable... idk. Don't try to redeem him, I don't think it's possible to redeem characters who symbolize the peak of humanity's "evil" so I don't want HYV to try. Like either keep him to be a terrible awful man or give us a fresh new Segment gone rogue who doesn't have anything like that attached to him.
It would be FAR more interesting of an allegory to me if they went for the latter route, actually. Kind of like, a family member of that "irredeemable evil" who now has that tied to them as a sin of the person they are related to but not themselves guilty of. It could be fun to see how HYV would treat such a character, and if done right, it could be a really fun way to explore how people (especially victims) often associate family members of abusers to the abuse they carried out but actually had no part of.
Anyway that's my 3AM rant of the day. I have Insomnia. Can you tell?

I JUST FINISHED PLAYING THE EVENT QUEST AND PLEASE THAT ENDING WAS SOOOO CUUUTTEEEEE
The cutscene reminded me too much of the teaser, I was holding my breath in shock and worried it would take a sad turn, but it was soo sweet!!!!
And the picture frame we got, I LOVE IT!!!! I LOVE IT SO MUCH, IT WAS SO FUN PLAYING THROUGH THE QUEST
The whole Kaveh being worried Mehrak had a mechanical existential crisis, and then him blaming Alhaitham drove away the cutie like pls lmaooo (on second thought... imagine being half awake on your way to get a coffee and seeing a toolbox float past you like it was nothing LMAO... so many mehrak headcanons swirling in my head like a cup in the microwave)
The number of jokes Cyno dropped, please it was so fun hehe, and I was so surprised to see Sorush, and then Traveler in the outfit in the cutscene like omg we're being robbed, first the flower crown the aranara gave us and then this... why hoyo why...
(Is it obvious I love the Sumeru cast a lot? Hehe, can't help it I guess, I'm too biased towards Sumeru and Fontaine characters...)
(On second thought, yours is favourite genshin tumblr blog, but was the Alhaitham theme, and now the Neuvillette theme just a halo effect? Lmao jk, you're a super fun person hehe!!! And your writing *chef's kiss* wonderful!!!!!)
🍀
I CAN ANSWER THIS NOW THAT IVE DONE THE EVENT HEHE
and pls i was the same during the cutscene.... when i first saw the style and with her waking up and it being her bday i was like no... pls let her be happy... dont do this to us rn hyv... no more pain while on the natlan aq break... AND THEN IT WAS SO SO CUTE AND OURGHHH !! and oh my gosh the picture frame.... genuinely love it so so much (cough i now have a picture frame with haitham beloved and it will be put in a special place in my teapot home cough) but it wouldve been even better with wanderer and layla 🫠
AND YES THE WORRIED MOTHER KAVEH & CURIOUS CHILD MEHRAK INTERACTIONS WERE SO !!! im glad we got to see more of kaveh and his dynamic with mehrak tho !! and him blaming alhaitham was so funny pls 😭 catching strays only to uno reverse them fr <//3 (if that were me on god i would chalk it up to sleep deprivation and pass it off as a hallucination LMAO but knowing mehrak it would literally just float there and smile at whoever was staring at it long enough and then continue what it was doing 😭)
cyno with his jokes.... while paimon didnt appreciate them, I did. and the fact he had them prepared in the back of his mind for our return so he could use them.... sobs hes so precious.... and his lil spark of joy at the end of the quest before taking the photo when he wanted to play genius invokation tcg with everyone and tighnari using collei as an escape, sethos wishing he had a collei to use as an escape and alhaitham and kaveh probably just walking away 😭
SORUSH AND THE PARI AND THE ARANARA !!!! the gasp i gasped when i heard the pari speak like???? HELLO???? i thought we would finally get aranara voice but there was none 😔 AND DONT GET ME STARTED ON THE TRAVELER OUTFITS AAAAAA both of the twins looked so good... pls we need it as a free skin.... or at the very least have more regional events from now on where they wear the nations style of clothing... manifests next lantern rite for cloud retainer to make us clothes..... pls.....

hi min! i’m really curious now what are your favourite quests in genshin? <3 be it an archon quest, maybe character’s story quest… i would love to know!
hi manu!! ohhhh there r SO many that i have really really enjoyed i honestly probably would be better off making a tier list of them shdjdkf BUT for now i think i'll list a few under the cut just in case ppl r still trying to avoid spoilers from earlier content.
warning for spoilers and yapping ahead!
sumeru archon quest (acts i-v)
i tried to narrow it down to a few acts, but the entire chapter was truly so so good!! i loved the intrigue, i loved the mystery, and obviously i also love my polycule cyno/tighnari/haitham/kaveh :3 im also a dottore enjoyer so seeing him slime his way around sumeru was incredibly arousing enjoyable for me LMAO. i think the pacing of the quests were good (with steadily rising tensions up until the climax of the quest in act v: akasha pulses, kalpa flame rises) and i have always had a soft spot for academia and academic politics, so this was a favorite for sure. the cutscenes were all beautifully done and the plot twists were often genuinely surprising to me (and even when they weren't, i felt a huge sense of excitement that what i hoped would happen was happening). the music was also top notch.
i think the sumeru chapter was so engaging to me because i was deeply invested in every character i saw on screen. i love tighnari and cyno. i adore haitham and kaveh. dottore and scaramouche are my lil stinkies. so it was like... just a feast for my eyes getting to see my favs interact with each other and also the plot. i felt so incredibly spoilt in the best way the whole time. and of course i will never and i mean NEVER forget haitham's short-lived acting career!!!
fontaine archon quest (acts iv-vi)
the earlier acts of the fontaine quest felt a bit more expositional (which was definitely crucial for setting up the huge emotional punch of the later acts) but what can i say? im a boy who enjoys his climaxes (lol). after the sumeru archon quest, i thought there was no way that hyv could possibly write another archon quest that felt as exciting and complex, but they proved me wrong and i was honestly so so impressed with how they handled furina's arc. the emphasis on performance and being forced to act in a way that is not the truest version of yourself for the greater good of the people you love really hit me hard. it was so heartwrenching to me to see how alone furina felt for years and years and years. i felt that the climax of the story (act v) was absolutely deserved after all the buildup, and ofc i enjoyed the khaenri'ah lore drop and seeing our wayward sibling again (act vi).
interlude chapter: act ii (perilous trail)
god, in my heart i will always always always have a soft spot for liyue, but this quest in particular hurt my soul in the best way as a zhongxiao (zhongli and xiao) shipper and a secret xiao kinnie. usually, the interlude quests tend not to catch my attention super much, but with the star-studded cast (itto??? YELAN??????) and the unsettling aura of the chasm it made for a very tense, fun, and memorable playthrough. i started playing the game all those years ago For Xiao and to see him so ready to sacrifice himself... so ready to accept his own death.... only to be rescued at the last second by his literal lord and savior... the only one left who could fully understand the extent of his loss... it just really stuck with me. the cutscene where xiao is being enveloped in zhongli's golden light still makes me emotional even thinking about it. again i am a bit of a. zhongxiao shipper. so this is likely just my shipping goggles but i remember how viscerally i squeaked and sobbed when i saw zhongli had been the one to save xiao.
character quest lightning round!
(i've yapped enough but here's an incomplete list of character quests i really enjoyed— i'd list like 90% of them if i could whdjfj)
haitham!!! haitham haitham haitham!!!! (this quest is my roman empire tbh)
kazuha :') my boy
xiao (ofc)
zhongli, both acts
ei, act 2
cyno, act 1 (haven't played act 2 yet... saving it for a rainy day)
hu tao (surprising! but i liked the depth it gave her character)
nahida (both parts but esp act 1)
finally... last but definitely not least.... wriothesley.... damn...
events: a quick note
i think my favs would be the usual suspects: every single lantern rite (im chinese lol it's practically an obligation /lh /j), THE INTERDARSHAN CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!!!!!!!!!, the irodori festival, the golden island archipelago event (midsummer island adventure).

i really am just waiting to finish the main story atp. like. after that? idk i might never actually touch the game itself again. it was fun to play while it lasted but the interest is slowly fading away

How did you guys get to gain traction for your network??
hello anon! ty for this question :) it was honestly a complicated process and it took a lot of trial and error.
making sure the network blog is a group blog, do not create a new blog as your posts will not show up in tags.
make sure to tag your debut post with what aligns with your specific network. this network, for example, is a hyv x reader network (not limited to romantic x reader either), so our debut post contained x reader tags for all of the hoyoverse games.
make your debut post eye-catching & concise. get straight to the point, state what makes your network unique. our one eye-catching element is our humor, so we used that to our advantage by adding screenshots of our discord server’s messages from our.. very humorous group <333
having your current members reblog & promote the network will help gain attention from their mutuals - which could lead to more traction.
make sure your reputation is clean, if you’re involved in any scandals or are known to be problematic - people will ignore your network regardless of anything i just said.
do NOT let everyone and anyone get in. this is the one thing we avoid at all costs, and it can also damage our chances to get traction, some people get in & don’t contribute to the community being built for them - they don’t assist in promoting the network, they’re simply warm bodies. the more of these people you have, the less likely you’ll get any traction.
lastly, we didn’t rush anything. we waited for everyone in the network to get comfortable, make new friends, etc, so when they promote us - they’re being 100% genuine :)
