After a globe-trotting year of events, renowned festival brand HYTE returns to its homebase Berlin on New Year’s Eve 2018 for a 24-hour marathon with another carefully curated line-up to present its annual flagship festival. The venue for this spectacular occasion is once again the iconic Funkhaus, an impressive complex of buildings, which provides the perfect setting for performances of established headliners, such as Richie Hawtin, Adam Beyer, Pan-Pot, Amelie Lens and Stephan Bodzin, and highly-respected talents of the underground scene, like Anthea, Archie Hamilton, Gregor Tresher, Djebali, Fabio Florido, Guti, Butch, wAFF, Ferro, Woody or Yaya, to name but a few.

It became already a loved tradition: Each year ends with HYTE NYE Berlin. Started in 2014, the annual festival event became a fixed date in the calendars of electronic music lovers from all over the world, well-known for cutting-edge benchmark-setting production, imposing sound and light installations, astonishing venues and line-ups consisting of globe-traveling high-profile talents, acknowledged heroes of the underground scene and the hottest up-and-coming names. The venue for HYTE’s 24-hour New Year’s Eve special is once again Funkhaus in Berlin. It is a colossal and iconic East German complex of buildings, located next to river Spree, dating back to 1951 that used to be the largest radio-broadcasting site in the world. Today it is a treasure trove for Berlin’s music culture. It mixes modernist, clear Bauhaus design with monumental architecture and cavernous industrial halls. Both rooms of HYTE NYE Berlin are based in the gigantic Shedhalle, a part of Funkhaus Berlin, a vast warehouse space, with arched ceilings, steel girders, and proper industrial aesthetics, overlooked by a huge gallery. A fantastic space with a raw stripped back feel that will become a perfect adult playground for one night and day. It will be converted with immersive lights and a powerful sound system that will deliver every beat-and hi-hat with HD quality to every part of both rooms.

In the last year, HYTE brought events to New York, London, Miami, Vietnam, Amsterdam, Eindhoven and the MDRNTY cruise on the Mediterranean Sea. Heed the call. This New Year’s Eve, plunge into HYTE’s spectacular 24 hour rave and start the decade anew.

New Years Eve is easily the most over-hyped night of the year. To date I am yet to hear any stories that actually match the preemptive emotional overload people give this holiday. I’ve never even gotten one of those famous New Years Eve kisses… It’s safe to say this date is all fart and no poo as the classic saying goes.

With that negativity out of the way, this NYE should actually live up to the hype because of HYTE NYE Berlin. Berlin’s famed former GDR broadcasting building, Funkhaus, will play host to a two floor mega rave featuring the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, Helena Hauff, Maceo Plex, Joseph Capriati, and Richie Hawtin – to name some of my favorites. Helena Hauff for one is bound to bring a destructive set. She is one of the best hard and fast techno DJs in the world right now.

Funkhaus is undoubtedly well stacked for the event featuring a fitting concrete warehouse for the main stage, an amazing pizza by the geniuses at Zola pizzeria, and even a crazy UFO house if you know where to look. The only thing I would suggest is, don’t forget the couches Hyte team! Your ravers will appreciate good seating areas to take breaks from the 24-hour showdown.

HYTE returned to its spiritual homeland of Amsterdam on Friday, October 19th to celebrate its so far biggest event in the city. The venue was Loveland’s massive Mediahaven. Already more then three weeks before the event was fully sold out: Nearly 4,000 ravers danced across three rooms to the soundtracks for this outstanding night created by Chris Liebing, Loco Dice, Pan-Pot, Guti, Andrea Oliva b2b wAFF, Yaya, Benny Rodrigues, Boris Werner, Caleb Calloway, Enzo Siragusa, Samuel Deep, Subb-an B2B Adam Shelton, and Mandana b2b Thabo Getsome.

All three rooms of Mediahaven were dyed in red color from the typical beaming HYTE laser cage when guests arrived at the venue. A seriously music loving crowd came from all over the world to party at this annual HYTE offering. This year’s key design aspects, such as the Moiré patterns which were not only present on the large LED screen made this gathering also a visual HYTE experience. Acoustic key elements of the night were the sets from Serán Bendecidos head honcho Loco Dice, techno super veteran and new Mute Records signing Chris Liebing, Guti, who celebrated his own birthday on that night and played a phenomenal live set, as well as Second State bosses Pan-Pot. wAFF and Andrea Oliva played an exceptional back to back session, Dutch House legend Benny Rodrigues presented a remarkable performance. Absolutely worth mentioning as well were the sets of Yaya and Caleb Calloway, whose performances stood out for delivering quality selections with skillful mixing.

Once again, HYTE has proven its taste to set trends in the underground. And now, attention turns to HYTE New Year’s Eve marathon in Berlin at Funkhaus with Adam Beyer, Amelie Lens, Chris Liebing, Pan-Pot, Richie Hawtin, Stephan Bodzin and many more.

HYTE just announced techno legend Chris Liebing as the latest addition to the line up of HYTE NYE Berlin 2018, which will take place on Monday, December 31st at Funkhaus Berlin. The techno grandmaster and Mute Records artist completes the line up around previously announced headliners Richie Hawtin, Adam Beyer, Pan-Pot, Amelie Lens and Stephan Bodzin. 

Chris Liebing, the German stalwart, who has been a firm fixture in the global techno scene for the better part of 25 years, will return to the famous Berlin HYTE event for the fifth year running. The techno mainstay just released his new LP “Burn Slow.” Chris has once again shown fans his multifaceted talent. The 10-track album, released via Mute in early September, sees the Frankfurt-based artist explore more experimental pursuits.

HYTE NYE Berlin 2018 will be held at Berlin’s legendary Funkhaus venue. Built in 1951, the colossal East German complex used to host the biggest radio broadcasting site in the world. Today serving as a playground of the city’s vibrant underground scene, the building is a beautifully preserved piece of Berlin’s past, mixing Bauhaus architecture with Soviet aesthetics and industrial vibes. The event will take place at the so-called Shedhalle, a one of a kind warehouse with very rough but beautiful aesthetics, which is part of the Funkhaus complex.

Staying true to their extended party roots, HYTE will once again put clubbers’ stamina to the test, offering them a 24-hour marathon on NYE and NYE to remember. To ring in the New Year in style, HYTE will kick off as early as 18:00 on Monday, December, 31st and won’t pull the plug until 18:00, Tuesday, January, 1st 2019.

HYTE NYE Berlin 2017 is set to be the biggest electronic music event in Europe on New Year’s Eve. Due to the exceptional demand on tickets, the huge 24 hour rave at Funkhaus in Berlin will now be spread across not just two but three rooms. The massive event is all close to selling out soon!

The newly announced third room will feature some of the best local Berlin talent as well as artists close to the brand, including none other than HYTE regular Tobi Neumann, Watergate resident Cinthie, Berlin house ambassadors Brame & Hamo, Club der Visionäre resident Topper plus two more acts from Amsterdam, namely Slapfunk Rec. artist Julian Alexander and Spokenn, a new duo consisting of the Ferro and Reiss, residents at Shelter and VBX.

With the likes of Adam Beyer, Chris Liebing, Loco Dice, Nina Kraviz, Pan-Pot, Ricardo Villalobos and Tale Of Us headlining, this is shaping up to be one of these very special colossal events that no one ever will forget. The very special venue make its own contribution to this status: Funkhaus is even by Berlin standards absolutely outstanding. The former GDR radio station building contains a huge industrial warehouse and some 50’s ballrooms that never have seen an event of this kind before.

Culinary delights will be provided at HYTE NYE Berlin 2017, too: Zola, one of the most popular pizza restaurants of Berlin, is opening a branch at Funkhaus. They are famous for their their tasty treats coming out of an original Napolitan wood-fired stone oven. Additionally, several food trucks will be on-site, serving a wide range of high quality yummy yummy eats during the whole event, including plenty of vegetarian and vegan options.

HYTE announced lately that the event is going to be sold out very soon. It is interesting to mention, that 35% of all sold tickets were sold in Germany only. That means 65% of all visitors are coming from all over the world, including all European countries, but also Australia, USA, Canada, Brazil, Egypt, Argentina, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, United Arab Emirates, Israel, Lebanon, South Africa, Colombia, Mexico, Tunisia and even Qatar, Nigeria, Iceland and many others!

Excitement is building for HYTE’s spectacular 24 hour rave on New Year’s Eve at Funkhaus in Berlin. Now the mouthwatering details of who is playing and when have been revealed, while teaser photos give a first look into the fantastic space that will become an adult playground for one sure to be special techno celebration.

Across two rooms, all shades of techno will be covered by a selection of international DJs and live acts, with Monoloc, Gregor Tresher, Pan-Pot, Andrea Oliva, Adam Beyer, Tale of Us, Loco Dice, Ricardo Villalobos, Nina Kraviz and Chirs Liebing all playing in room one. Meanwhile, the second space will be taken care of by Confidns, Gheist live, Modig, Deniro, Bjarki live, Steve Rachmad, wAFF, Yaya, Ferro, Alex & Digby, Enzo Siragusa and Dewalta.

The venue is a vast warehouse space that has arched ceilings, steel girders and real industrial aesthetics. It will be converted with immersive lights and a powerful sound system that will deliver every beat and hi hat with HD quality to every part of both rooms.
