Dijon Mustard Review - Market Basket Brand Dijon Mustard

It was crusty, and crusty is not what I want in my dijon mustard. I also had the wet mustard problem, where all the oils or something float to the top and then drip out when you go to squeeze the bottle. Finally, the sound. Oh sweet, mustardy gods, please forgive Market Basket. Never mind the sound, some sort of alien ray mixed with pain and sadness, as it makes a kind of "sploooshuffffgush" sound. And repeats. Anyways, the mustard was mediocre. If you can't afford fancy dijon, feel free to pick up this. And look forward to Market Basket's honey mustard review, too. (I need more mustard.)

Hey Goldy,
Just re-read your post on bts ships and ITS, and I was wondering if you had any thoughts about why Hybe allowed or thought it was a good idea for Jikook to do the travel show? I’m thinking in the round because they haven’t really promoted it on their channels, sold it to Disney and left it, so what was in it for them? How do you think Jikook approached them with it?
Thanks
Oh I should have linked my other post that predicted jikook was likely gonna get their own reality show after BTS was done!
Someone like it so I can find it and link it🥴
I think even if Jikook hadn't approached them with it they would have approached Jikook with it. The chemistry they have is highly and easily marketable and Disney housing them only means more money and autonomy for them.
And guys please watch the shit out of it so Disney knows there's an audience for such content.
You see think of this again as a business, and Jikook are the product. The usual strategy of such businesses is to invest in the product and sell it not to keep the product for ya self and or keep investing in it forever. The eng game is to sell and generate revenue from it.
If jikook are able to pull this off it only means more investors more brand deals and an evergreen content that's gonna make more and more money
Hybe will either use the money from investors they attract to reinvest in it's business and with little costs cos cost of production of the content would have been paid for.
There's so many places in the world they can visit. Which means they need someone to pay for flights accommodations health insurance traveling insurance and so on.
It's a business.
All they need is for jikook to keep jikooking and like Jungkook said for them to learn to be better entertainers and make sure the content they put out is engaging
And I think on that Jimin can make a lot of input. He knows what sells and he knows how to work an audience.
And if they are out of ideas I have plenty of ideas to last them a life time and yall trust me right??? Tsk I gatchall😌
About promoting it, a you have to consider the co nflirt of interest their platform is a competitor you know??? The whole idea is to have people run to Disney and watch Disney. If they showing it in their platform that would defeat the purpose
Two since it's Disney's platform they trying to promote, Disney would have to pay hybe to promote the content on hybe's platform 🥴
The least they can do is to agree to post say highlights every now and then and make a post about it every week
You get that people get paid to post stuff on their own platforms rights??? Hybe is no different. They've amassed a lot of following and traction and they have monetized that traction. If Disney wants them to promote Disney hard they gotta make it rain on them
It's why they "accidentally" post other artists to Army on weverse. It's not an accident they trying to make money off their platform.
These artists join weverse because they hope to tap into Hybe's huge user base.
There's plenty in it for hybe. If jikook is a success they would have to replicate that success or find a way to monetize the other members through units or solo shows like what Jin is doing.
Sope could come up with an idea for a show for example. In such a situation even if they fund the show by themselves and search for investors by themselves or sell the show to disney by themselves, hybe still earns a commission on their earnings as their agent. As their agent hybe earns a commission on allllllllll their earnings regardless of where that earnings come from.
But if hybe also provide the money for their show or find investors for them, (this is extra work done or extra investment) so when all is done hybe can either enter a partnership agreement with Sope to air the show on hybes independent platform like weverse but sope would have to pay hybe for airing it on such platform and also split revenue with them because they are the investors and on top of that hybe still earns a commission as their agency in charge of managing their career.
Or sope can choose to go with a third party platform like Disney instead of weverse and if Disney buys the show sope gets paid and then they have to pay back hybe for that initial investment in their show on top of paying them a commission on their earnings as they are their agent.
Or Sope can get bought out by Netflix or any other such platforms and it would be the same process.
Jikook are not doing this for free and neither are hybe or Disney or Netflix. They have a business relationship between them and everyone gets to take home something
Edit
Though I must add that it's not always the case that their shows will be bought by third party platforms. Sometimes they can enter an agreement that benefits both sides or even pay Disney themselves if they want to tap into the audience of Disney rather than Disney tapping theirs.

At Wendy's recently I heard a guy ask for his senior discount. The girl at the register apologized and charged him less. When I asked the man what the discount was, he told me that seniors over age 55 ...get 10% off everything on the menu, every day. (But you need to ASK for your discount.)

(Short form fics, to help me write more regularly, maybe. Off of a list of reverse tropes prompts. Helpful crit, and comments welcome.)
"Iz barely spring, vhy iz it zo hot already," Maxim grumbled into the peachy colored arm acting as his pillow.
"Nah, iz goot" Ognian, owner of said arm, purred back. "Move in a leedle closer, mine side iz cold." He curled around Maxim's shoulder to pull him closer to his bare chest. Thick fingers tipped with claws dug into long purple hair. Maxim reached behind and pulled it out of the way. His back was already starting to sweat through his shirt, his hair certainly didn't need to get tangled up in it.
"Iz only colt cause hyu dun vear nottink more den a vest."
"Und hyu's only varm cawse hyu insist on vearink more," rose a grumble from Dimo, occupying Oggie's other side. They lay pressed together shoulder to rib to waist to hip to Dimo's leg thrown atop Oggie's.
Maxim shifted onto his side so he could see his third companion. "Ho, vhat’s hyu excuse, den? Hyu gots fur to keep hyu varm."
"Ho, vell, iz cawse iz cold hyu dumkoff." He scoffed. "Hyu chust run varm like zum furnace on legs. Zo get back to vork."
Maxim sat up and crossed his arms. "Hy ken't!" He whined. "Mine back iz a sveaty, mine hair is shtickink to everyting, de ground is stabby vitout vearink sometink," his voice went soft at the end. "Is-" he sniffled, "is too varm! Demmit, I miss de hall!" He kicked out at his neat pile of cape and sword and boots, sending it flying across the cave. The rapier clattered against the wall. Dimo and Oggie sat up. "Is too varm too cuddle und hy hates it. At least give me de dignity of complaink."
"Brudder..."
Dimo inturrepted, "eediot. Sleep on oggie's jacket, he isn't uzink it. Can put hyu cloak on top if hyu needs. Den strip down und get over here."
"Vhat? but-"
"Ho, dun vorry. Hy iz fine vit it gettink all dirty!"
"Vell?"
Maxim slumped and dragged the back of his hand across his eyes. "Ja, ja hokay." Stripping off the long shirt and tight pants was more an ordeal than he'd have liked with shaking hands from now all that anger built up for nowhere to go. The energy from it buzzed under his skin. He stumbled getting his foot out the leg. Gathering everything back up and laying out the jacket and cape helped, as the slight draft cooled over his sweat damp skin. He looked up from his bed arrangement to see Dimo and Oggie still sat up. Dimo patted the space in front of him, so he sat.
"Hy gets dis in a braid qvick, dat should help, ja?" He asked.
"Ja, dat should help." He took his hat into his lap.
"Hyu gots a hair tie?"
"No," he said quietly. "It broke months ago. Vas mine last vun. Ve haven't had spare fabric fer a new vun yet."
Dimo huffed, and Maxim knew an eyeroll followed. "Oggie, cut a strip off de market leadder, vill hyu."
"But dat ruins de value!" Maxim twisted to stare with raised eyebrows.
"Vhat, like some townie vill notice a leedle strip done later inshtead ov vhen ve skinned it. It vill shtill sell."
Oggie handed Dimo the strip, an arms length long and dark brown on one side. "Here hyu go!" A bit thin but functional enough. Dimo put his hand atop Maxim's head and swiveled it back around.
"Tenks." He put it between his teeth as he seperated the sections and braided down a few inches. Then took the folded strip, adding each half to a section. Maxim shifted. It slipped. He took it out and put it back in. A few sections down a section fell out when he shifted again. It was slow, from there. With it braided in the rest of the way down, he took the leather ends and tied them around the tail. "Dere hyu go. Better?"
"A bit, ja." He pulled the braid forward, stroking over it, other hand tapping the brim ofhis hat. Dimo glanced at Oggie and raised an eyebrow. Oggie bit his lip and smiled, then moved into a crouch.
"Hy know chust de ting." And with a heavy shove, Dimo flung Maxim into Oggies waiting arms. Both fell back at the impact as Maxim let out a shout of surprise, hat clutched firmly in hand. Oggie reached for it.
"Hoy! Vatch vhere hyu's puttink hyu hands!" Maxim slapped the reaching hand away and leaned back into Oggie, pressing him firmly into the floor. Oggie wrapped a leg around his hips and pressed to the side, flipping them over.
"Ho ja, hy's vatchink verra carefully!" Oggie giggled. "Come here hyu!" He reached forward, where Maxim was attempting to keep it out of reached. He squirmed and dragged himself forward, out from under Oggie.
"Looks like hyu's loosink over dere!" Dimo called. "Hy bet tomorrow's cookink hyu dun effen touch his hat!"
"Hoy! Hy can manage dat, et least!" Oggie turned to defend himself.
Maxim used the opportunity to shove Oggie off and fling him onto his back. "Hoy, vhat do hy get out ov dis?"
"Snails dun get anyting out ov de bets, deys de subject ov dem."
He stood up and put his hat back on his head "So hy dun gots to cook if hyu vin?"
Dimo raised an eyebrow. "Hy tinks dat iz a goot ting."
"Hey! Umph-!" Oggie tackled him back to the floor, atop the laid out jacket and cloak.
"Ha!" He lay a had on top of the hat, pressing it over Maxim's eyes. "Iz sleepy time now, hokay?"
"Ja," Maxim nodded. He smiled. "Ja, hy's goot now."
"Great, now get hyu asses over here. Hy'm cold." Dimo dragged Oggie off of Maxim and resumed his position, half on top of the other jäger and shoved together at every possible point. Oggie lay an arm out an Maxim curled up in it, hat placed carefully above him.
A moment passed and their breathing evened. In the quiet, bugs chirped and distant sticked snapped and the whistling scream of the auralnautic owls echoed through trees. The cave wasn't as cold as stone should be.

hanwenzhou thought of the day: wen kexing and han ying are going to the market (post canon everyone lives you know the drill). while they are all happily at siji, wkx and hy are still feeling each other out a little. wkx is used to zzs, who will roll his eyes and performatively grump at him and complain that wkx is being weird and everyone's staring at them. wkx does his normal blend of being offputting and outgoingly cheerful, but hy doesn't do anything like zzs would. multiple people in town try to do the kind of universal 'oh buddy, dealing with your friend must be a lot' commiseration when you are accompanying someone who is in fact Being A Lot. instead hy just quietly stares adoringly at wkx's latest intentional antics and is like 'no it's great actually.' wkx is baffled (no one else acts like this with him?? or in general????) but also he is beginning to like it
#hwz thought of the day#hanwen#technicallt but whatever#this was inspired by something a friend was tweeting#about loving ships where one looks normal and the other is obviously unhinged#and the normal one is secretly delighted that the unhinged one has claimed them

FYI EVERYONE!!!
I was at Wendy's recently, I heard a guy ask for his senior discount. The girl at the register apologized and charged him less. When I asked the man what the discount was, he told me that seniors over age 55 ...get 10% off everything on the menu, every day. (But you need to ASK for your discount.)
This incident prompted me to do some research, and I came across a list of restaurants, supermarkets, department stores, travel deals and other types of offers giving various discounts with different age requirements. Welcome back SF, really missed your input.
That's really kind of you to say 🙏 I'm watching this spinoff against better judgment and have a lot of thoughts on it, but I'll try to stick to production topics.
[W]hy giving so many visual cues for Carol?
Like MT and you yourself said, AMC realized (somewhat belatedly) that they can't Carol-ify characters (Maggie in DC/Isabelle in DD) and expect the audience to get excited. The studio knows Carol gets engagement, that's why they keep pushing the character on social media despite the fact that officially, she's not part of TWDU. I believe Melissa/Carol is so conspicuously absent from Nicotero's interviews for related reasons.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't they shove Melissa and Angela aside to make their own spin off?
No, you're right, but each of the people wanting them off the project had their own reasons for it. It's not as simple as "Norman got a big head" from being the most marketed character (although there's an element of that too). There's a lot of people involved and they all had different things to gain from having these two women removed.
So, my guess right now is, it's about the money and someone less with an opinion, so both Greg and Norm have more creative freedom and a couple of spare millions to spend on their vision
AMC spent way more money this way than having Melissa be part of the show from the start, so no, it's not about money and making a TV show isn't a bunch of people compromising on what to do. (More on that a little further down.)
There are many reasons and @jaibhagwan mentioned one of them in a comment to my previous ask, "[W]ho has the most the gain by sabotaging Caryl to make himself look good writing his “love story” spinoff?" Gimple was heavily involved in S11, the development of DD and in part of pre-production, and like I've previously said, he doesn't want competition. (It shouldn't be a competition at all, since a TV show is a collaborative effort and as a viewer I'm capable of liking both Carol and Michonne. Not that the race is between the women, because Gimple doesn't care about either of them.) He wants DD to fail, so he can swoop in to save the franchise with his TOWL show.
Just so no one misunderstands this as a slight and gets upset: Michonne is one of my favorites and I hold Danai in utmost respect. I'm not comparing women or female characters. They bring different things to the franchise and that's a GOOD THING. I want more of that. I also think Clémence is a great actor and apart from the sweeping aerial establishing shots, she's the only enjoyment I'm getting from DD. My issue is with Gimple and Zabel (whose existence as a "fleshie" I can unfortunately confirm to anyone thinking he might be a cardboard cutout), and their no-good storytelling.
@rubberchickeny "They all ring untrue and like he’s trying to manage (badly) the image the media and the public have. He’s contradicting himself, and other information given."
I believe the obfuscation is on purpose and that AMC (by way of Nicotero) is also trying to shift blame for some of their more controversial story decisions.
Everything that happens on a TV show has been approved by the studio responsible for the production. It doesn't matter if you're an egomaniac actor, a spiteful hack of a writer or a burnt-out EP—no one can override the studio. Someone at the studio approved the respec of Daryl back to his S2 self, the choice to deny his found family, the nunbaiting, etc. Every single script goes to the studio for notes and then (eventually) final approval before it's locked. They approve of the episode edit; if they don't like it, it gets reedited to their specifications.
There's a method to the madness in everything Nicotero has been saying.
@kryptoniancape "So he blatantly lied about having no creative control in that hit piece?"
Yes 🤷♀️ and you're right, it's a hit piece. The question is why. Why do AMC and Greg Nicotero want you to think that everything that's wrong about this show is Norman's fault? I'm not saying he doesn't bear any responsibility, but this isn't a one-man standup comedy special on HBO. If he made demands AMC didn't want to meet, they could have pulled the plug on those delusions at any point.
SF
“I’m watching this spinoff against better judgment”
Translation: MT is making me watch so I can answer her long list of questions she sent me.
I guess my concern about a possible smear campaign is…are they expecting more backlash later on? If so, I’m terrified to find out what that is. I’m getting so many asks from people wondering why they should hope for a better story in S2, and even though I do think we can put some of our faith in Melissa, it’s still a valid question. Because they should be doing everything to rebuild our trust that was lost the day they announced the Caryl spinoff was canceled, but instead they’re preparing for things to get worse?
Again, all I want (as a fan and as another woman in the industry) is to feel reassured that Melissa’s getting everything a leading lady deserves and that Daryl and Carol are getting the story they deserve.
Fwiw: If Danai was the showrunner on her spinoff, I would’ve been SEATED for that. If Melissa got to showrun or direct, I’d be seated for that too. TWDU needs more women and poc making creative decisions.

Just wondering if anyone else has made the correlation between the Hy-Vee Market Grill sign and Vulgora's hat?

TBOSAS on Crack short take (20)
*When Dennis Fling and Felix Ravinstill saved their Tributes from asthma and tuberculosis*
Dennis: Hi, Hy! I’m your Mentor!
Hy: Hi, I’m dying.
Dennis: Dying?!😱 What do you mean dying?! We just met!
Hy: *coughs* I have asthma.😔
Dennis: Asthma?! But that’s easily curable with today’s technology?!
Hy: Nope. Not in District 5.
Dennis: Can you even compete in the Hunger Games?!
Hy: I’ll be dead before that day comes.
Dennis: But- But who else has asthma?!
Hy: I’m the only one. But that District 11 girl, Dill is also dying.
Dennis: District 11 girl? Felix Ravinstill’s Tribute?!
Hy: Yeah. She has tuberculosis.
Dennis: What?!
Hy: I ain’t lying, ya know.
Dennis: I- um- I’ll just call our Class President real quick! *calls Felix*
Felix: Yo, Dennis! Bestie, I’m busy interviewing my Tribute right now. So let’s talk later-
Dennis: My Tribute has asthma, Class Pres! He’s dying!!
Felix: Seriously, Dennis?! Do I look like a doctor to you?! Call Lizzie-
Dennis: Your Tribute is also dying! She has tuberculosis!!😭
Felix: Wait, What?!
Dill: Yeah, I’m dying. *coughs up blood*
Felix: Ok then. I just need to make a quick phone call. *calls Lizzie*
Lysistrata: Hello? Felix? Is this-
Felix: Lizzie, Can you cure asthma and tuberculosis?!
Lysistrata: For the last time, Ravinstill! I am not your private doctor! My parents may work under your family, but that doesn’t mean I do-
Felix: Lizzie, my bestie, you don’t understand, the Tributes are dying! They’re dying from super curable diseases!
Lysistrata: *sighs* Fine! Stop crying already! You’re our Class President for goodness sake!
Felix: *sniffs* So you’ll help me? Oh, Lizzie, you’re my favorite-
Lysistrata: Yes, I know. Now what do you need?
Felix: Can you give me those illegal “Cure-All” drugs you brought last year?
Lysistrata: You mean those “miracle pills” I brought to our annual class party?
Felix: Yes.
Lysistrata: The same drugs that forced Urban and Coryo to challenge Festus and Sejanus to an epic ✨Dance Dance-off Battle✨?!🤣
Felix: Yes. The ones that were manufactured without my crazy granduncle’s permission.
Lysistrata: You mean without the President’s permission, right?😏
Felix: Whatever you say, Bestie.
Lysistrata: On one condition.
Felix: *sighs* Demand away, Vickers.
Lysistrata: Can I bring Mr. Doctor Fluffy Pants to school tomorrow?
Felix: Oh, your cat? Sure. Why not.
Lysistrata: Yey!
Felix: Now get me those drugs, Lizzie!🥰
Dennis: *is still listening to their conversation* That sounds so wrong in so many levels when you say it like that, Class Pres!😂
Felix: Shut up, Dennis! Go suck a di-
Dennis: *quickly cuts Felix off from the call* So where were we?
Hy: Um- You were introducing yourself.
Dennis: Oh, that’s right! But who cares about that.
Hy: I do?
Dennis: Now tell me, Hy, do you know what a black market is?
Hy: Yeah. I know.
Dennis: Does District 5 have its own black market?
Hy: Why?
Dennis: Perfect! We can do some profitable business there!😈
Hy: We?!
Dennis: Yes, we! *evil laughs*

Urdaneta didn’t discover how to get anywhere, but rather less glamorously but no less importantly discovered how to get back. Until 1565, no fleet had succeeded in sailing east from Asia back across the Pacific to the Americas. [...] The importance of this achievement was well understood at the time: the King of Spain had made it an explicit objective of the voyage, and Urdaneta’s arrival in Mexico was cause for public celebration. A letter of the time said that ‘those of Mexico are mighty proud of their discovery, which gives them to believe that they will be the center of the world.’
They were [...] arguably correct in this belief. The trading route that resulted from Urdaneta’s discovery – that of the Manila galleons – brought the silver from the Americas that underpinned China’s money supply and transformed the global economy.
This Ruta de la Plata – or ‘Silver Way’ – characterised a period when commerce between China and Spanish America formed the lynchpin of trade routes spanning four continents. It also marked the first time the entire world had been knitted together with the global trade and financial networks that form the basis of our modern globalised world [...].
---
Urdaneta’s discovery and its lasting significance seem largely forgotten, at least in the English-speaking world, among the dustier shelves of the historical record. [...] [Before the Industrial Revolution] [t]he pivotal role of Spanish America and China in these previous 250 years of global integration has been obscured and superseded by the prevailing narrative of Anglo-American predominance [...].
[W]hy has he [Urdaneta] been forgotten in the English-speaking world? Indeed, the Manila galleon, the silver trade and the role of the Spanish silver peso seem to be largely absent from Anglo-American history texts, except those specialising in the precise period or subject. This particular amnesia can be dated. The ‘Indies’ trade in general, and silver in particular, remain central to many of the arguments about economics in Adam Smith’s The Wealth of Nations, published in 1776. But as the Spanish Empire receded from the scene, and English-speakers found they had other geopolitical and economic priorities, not least the Industrial Revolution, forgetfulness began to set in.
---
From the heights of American global dominance, the fork of history that led to the Spanish Empire seemed something of a cul-de-sac, tangentially relevant to further global progress. Two hundred and fifty years of Sino-Spanish trade were relegated – again, in the English-speaking world – to specialist journals [...].
It is important to bring early-modern Asia back into the prevailing historical narrative, to update our maps by making them older. [...]
The link between the narrative of the Silver Way and the later Anglo-American narrative is silver, or rather the monetisation and integration of the world’s economies via currency and financial markets. The link remains today in the form of the US dollar and the Chinese yuan, both of which are descended from the Spanish peso.

A better "Where do you buy groceries?" poll because the other one's choices were so broken in scope
Detailed descriptions below if you don't immediately know which answer applies
1. Big-Box / Hypermarket stores can have a grocery section but they sell a lot of other general goods too. If there's equal or more not-food (clothes, electronics, furniture) than food it's probably this.
2. Bulk / Wholesale stores often require memberships and you buy in bulk with limited selection for cheaper prices. These are basically warehouses.
3. Discount Supermarkets in the US, at least, have Aldi's business model stand out as somewhat unique, though I expect it has more competitors in Europe. There's a focus on the cheapest possible prices by emphasizing store-brand items and reducing employee staffing.
4. Large Grocery Chain examples in the USA include Kroger (& Brands), Safeway, Hy-Vee, Publix, etc. They are big enough to cover a whole region instead of just a few states.
5. Large Grocery Chain in Europe would be the supermarket you can reliably find all over your country and possibly neighboring countries. I think Asda in the UK counts? I haven't grocery shopped across Europe for more examples.
6. Same kind of store as above, scaled to your country size. Not gonna pretend I know enough about groceries across the world to give more details.
7. In the US, if it covers a few states but most of the country would have no idea what you're talking about? It counts. Everyone use best judgement on how small they would consider a "local" chain.
8. Another best judgement but I was thinking of brands like Whole Foods Market (pricier, organics) or Trader Joe's (emphasis on marketing private labels but not specifically budget goods).
9. This one is especially for Americans who are immigrants or from immigrant families that shop at specialty stores (ex: Pan-Asian Market) to buy ingredients / brands that the local options don't sell, but I would assume it's internationally applicable.

• “For two years, the Fed was saying, “Interest rates are going higher.”
That message resulted in very little activity in capital markets, with low levels of IPO, M&A, sponsor-to-sponsor deals, or sponsor-to-strategic deals.
This changed at the December 2023 meeting when the Fed said, “Interest rates are now going lower.”
The impact of this signal change from the FOMC was profound. It triggered a significant rally in the S&P500 and in IG, HY, and loans. As a result, capital markets reopened and LBO financings have rebounded significantly since December, see chart below.
With the Fed still saying that the next move in rates is lower, we should expect the rebound to continue.”
