Helene -2 weeks later

Hello again... Here we are, and here I am, 2 weeks after the storm. Navigating the aftermath.

I'm okay physically, and my apartment is physically unaffected. I've got power and internet.... water will still take weeks to restore.

After the experience of going through the storm and witnessing it's destruction in my neighborhood and my beloved mountains, my sensibilities are a bit different. Different things matter.

The emotional part of the experience has had an impact that will take me time to heal. The deep sadness for the loss of life, loss of quality of life, and for the changes to my daily living that I am navigating. It is hard to explain. If you have personally been through a similar experience in your life, then you know. You know...

I continue to check in here on Tumblr, though I just can't engage quite like I did. I realize that there's so much unnecessary energy expended in the fandom, over trivial things, and over battles that really DO NOT matter in life. None of it truly matters, when it comes down to it.

Yeah, I still dearly love BTS. Yeah. I just can't quite engage in a full way right now. I'll watch as Hoseok exits the military on October 17, and will celebrate that in my heartspace. And, I'll continue to look forward to next June, when Jiminie, Jungkookie, Taehyungie, Yoongie and Joonie are discharged. Definitely.

I'll be here, just a little less than before.....

It's going to take a little time for me to get back to myself. My heart needs a bit of time to heal. Nothing is the same, in my life.

If you are one who prays or such, please keep praying for everyone here, in the areas where Helene left destruction. Include all the creatures, and the land itself. So much healing is needed.

Sorry everyone that I haven’t been that active on here lately, I just wanted to let my followers now its cause my older brother passed away last month unexpectedly, and my family and I have been having an incredibly difficult time with it. He was only 32, and was in a different state which makes it even harder cause none of us could get to him. It wasn’t suicide, foul play, or drug overdose. It was a complete accident, and he didn’t suffer or in any pain. So having the motivation to write has been a little difficult, but I promise I will get back to writing, and you guys haven’t got rid of me yet. I hope you guys understand, and I look forward to writing more for you guys. Also, hug your family and loved ones tightly cause you really don’t know when it’ll be your last. Appreciate the people in your life and don’t ever take them for granted💜🤍

I am here!

Just a note to share, a little about my weekend with Tropical Storm Helene.

My town was impacted by flooding that had not been experienced since 1916. All power (with internet and most phone service) was down, in the area. The water supply was shut down due to massive destruction of pipelines and pumping stations. Homes slid down hillsides, were washed away by raging flooding water.... In the apartment complex where I live (along side a river), 9 buildings were under water.

My apartment is on a hill and is a 2nd floor. Thankfully, it was untouched. Many of my neighbors lost everything.

Tonight is my first night where I can get online. I'm now at my sister's house, several hours from home. I'm here to try to work (online), and to get myself back to a balanced place, energetically. What I witnessed and experienced is life-changing.

I honestly don't have it in me to scroll through the several hundred posts, that are sitting in my feed. I can't even look at the notifications right now. I'm just popping on here to let someone know I am still here.

If I missed anything huge from Jimin or Jungkook. just send me a DM. lol...

Take care ya'll. Make sure you check on loved ones that you haven't heard from recently. Give anyone an extra hug who might need it.

Also, if you are One who prays or works with healing energy, please put Western North Carolina in those prayers. Please include all people, creatures, plants & trees, and ALL of the emergency workers/military/relief organizations/etc. in there, too.

The rescue and restoration process is ongoing. There are still missing people. There are still towns and communities that were cut off and have not been accessed. It will take 4-6 weeks for the Water system to be rebuilt for my town. There are many small towns alongside rivers that were destroyed. Many lost their lives.

It was North Carolina's version of Katrina.

I know I hardly get any traffic on here anymore, but please read this. I beg of you, reblog this so it is seen. One of my family members is dying from a rare form of cancer. I don’t ask for money, I don’t ask for prayers, (although they are welcome if you feel inclined) I ask that you hug your loved ones. Tell them you love them, or call that person you’ve been thinking about lately. Life is short, and it certainly is not fair. Go tell someone what they mean to you.

So big / so small || vent

In 2009 me and my family (mom & dad) was in a car crash, i was around 3 and a half.

I didn't get Wounded at all luckily enough, and my dad broke some ribs and hurt his shoulder, but my mom hit her head against the window when the orange car crashed into us, sending her into a coma for 1 month.

During this time me and dad didn't know if she'd ever wake up. But i was just a kid and didn't understand why my mom didn't come come, hence why i said "shh mom is sleeping" when i saw her for the first time efter the accident.

She woke up after 1 month and stayed in the hospital around 3 months, re-learning how to walk, swim, and to help her balance. Today she lives with a brain injury, it doesn't change her in any way, she only gets mad a little bit easier and forget smaller things a little bit easier, but honestly it gets better and better with each day and i'm so happy that she, and the whole family made it out alive and well in the end.

The guy that crashed into us did sadly not go to jail, and my parents didn't want to face him at the time so nothing was done about him, which pissees me off today.

But either way, things did end up well in the end and i'll forever be thankful for that. The photo at the end is a picture taken by the police after the accident.

Take this as a reminder that you never know when your last day with your parents will be, an accident can happen Anywhere at any time, so please hug your loved ones for me <3
