Biết là vậy nhưng tui vẫn rất bàng hoàng khi hàng nội địa ship trực tiếp từ Trung Quốc về nhưng phí shipping lại rẻ hơn 2 lần so với cái shop nằm ngay quận 8, cách tui có 1 quận, tui quận 7 :)
Sẵn tiện nói một chút về cuộc chiến khét ngẹt của mấy cái sàn thương mại điện tử. Chỗ này đáng lẽ phải ghi là cuộc chiến khốc liệt nhưng tui thấy chữ khét ngẹt nó tượng hình hơn, ý tui là... đốt tiền cháy khét ngẹt.
Hiện tại, sự trở lại mạnh mẽ của Lazada nhờ những đồng Nhân Dân Tệ đến từ Alibaba đã khiến Shopee-Tiki-Lazada hình thành một thế chân vạc vững vàng như Ngụy, Thục, Ngô thời Tam Quốc.
Shopee thì có thể xem như nhà Ngụy trong Tam Quốc. Thị phần đang cao nhất, tiềm lực cũng cực mạnh (Tencent đua tiền với Alibaba thì đ biết chừng nào mới dừng). Ngoài ra Shopee Vietnam và cả Shopee Global đều có những chiến dịch pr rất mạnh mẽ và hiệu quả. Yếu tố cuối cùng là các chương trình khuyến mãi của Shopee cũng quá sức hấp dẫn.
Tui là một khách hàng rất thân thiết với Shopee, tần suất 10 đơn hàng mỗi tháng. Tuy nhiên có một điều tui thấy khá khó chịu là với đội ngũ developer bá cháy nhất VN nhưng quả app nặng nhọc vcl ạ. Ai bảo mấy bố nhét cho lắm tính năng vào, đm lướt mua đồ 30p mà máy nóng như bắn 5 ván PUBG.
Lazada thì vừa comeback với dòng tiền ào ạt từ Trung Hoa. Chỉ cần mở con app mobile lên là nhìn ra ngay cái màu app đến từ mảnh đất hình đầu bò :) Nhưng quả thật là app xịn mịn đẹp hơn mấy anh chị Shopee. Chương trình khuyến mãi tung ra cũng rất mạnh. Tuy nhiên nhìn chung vẫn đang yếu thế hơn Shopee. Nhưng mà có Alibaba đứng sau bơm thì vẫn còn lực lắm, còn đua được dài.
Cuối cùng là Tiki, cái tên duy nhất đến từ Việt Nam (Sendo thì thôi bỏ đi 🤦♀️). Start up nội địa này đốt cũng nhiều Việt Nam Đồng lắm rồi, và cũng đã chiếm thị phần tuy không quá to nhưng rất vững. Tiki vẫn luôn luôn số 1 ở mặt hàng sách và đồ điện tử chính hãng, có một tập khách hàng khá lớn khi mua sách hoặc đồ điện tử thì luôn chọn Tiki, vậy nên mới bảo là thị phần rất vững.
Tuy nhiên dạo này Tiki lại nổi nhiều phốt về chế độ bảo hành, còn trò đốt tiền thì có vẻ hụt hơi 2 anh đại kia quá. Thế nên tui e là Tiki sẽ đối mặt với rất nhiều khó khăn trong thời gian sắp tới.
À nhận xét một chút về app Tiki: giao diện xinh xắn, gọn nhẹ và khá mượt nhưng lại không có tính năng chat DM (với shop), quạu ghê.
Trong Tam Quốc Diễn Nghĩa, thế chân vạc được tạo ra vững chãi nhưng chỉ là sự vững chãi tạm thời. Bản chất là thằng nào cũng muốn tiêu diệt 2 thằng kia để làm bá chủ, không thằng nào chấp nhận chia 3 thiên hạ. Câu chuyện của Shopee-Lazada-Tiki có lẽ cũng sẽ như thế, sẽ không có chuyện chấp nhận chia 3 thị phần mà sẽ là cuộc chơi 2 mất 1 còn. Mà với tiềm lực hiện tại của cả 3 thì có lẽ sẽ là một cuộc chiến dài hơi. Thôi thì người tiêu dùng như mình cứ ngồi xem và hưởng lợi.
Có điều Tiki đến từ Việt Nam nên tui không muốn nó chết đâu, ráng mà đua nha người anh em.

Group Project: Destination and Journey
The Destination and Journey.
Review and select a problem to solve. Provide a rationale why you should be part of the team, outlining your interest, expertise and contributions. You will work with a team, throughout the remainder of the course, to collectively and collaboratively work through the stages of the creative problem solving process.
GROUP PROBLEM TO SOLVE:
Our group has taken an interest into fire disaster relief solutions, in light of the tragedies in Northern California. After a crises as debilitating as fire, a community may have to rebuild from the ground up. We are interested in experimenting and implementing new strategies of agriculture, infrastructure, civic and medical relief. One material we may invest our project is in the usage of hempcrete (derived of water, lime, hemp) as an alternative building solution for both temporary and permanent structures. We are also interested in incorporating the use of digital fabrication to create economically feasible printed homes, potentially utilizing hempcrete as the main filament.

I'm interested in promoting digital modeling & fabrication techniques (such as 3D modeling and 3D printing, laser cutting and Computer Numerical Control), and how to reduce manufacturing waste and fastening Creative/learning experience. In addition, how to use digital fabrication techniques to promote sustainable / recyclable resources such as plastics, paper and fabrics.
REBECCA:
I’m interested in the backlash against fast fashion, and how clothing companies analyze their monetary gains to ethical obligations. Also, what are the best methods of promoting recycled clothings (thrift/consignment, online markets ie. eBay and thredUp, repurposing fabric)
JORGE:
I like the idea of getting paid to do nothing and get some positive benefits. I think everyone dreams of that a little bit. I’d like to explore the feasibility of community hemp co-ops where homeowners in urban, post-industrial communities can grow industrial (non-psychoactive) hemp and get paid per pound or kilogram. In the process, hemp crops clean soil, are carbon sequestering and clean the air. I’d hope to find the best intersection between sustainable agriculture and prosperity development at a community level.

Anything that promotes sustainability, responds to a global issues and/or ongoing challenges, and is a product/service that is user-centric
-- LATTER RESEACH -- Jorge → Voluntary displacement seems out of the question, especially in this part of the US. That seems to solve the problem straight away. According to my research on this last situation up north, a lot of these fires had to do with CA’s precipitation patterns over the last few years. The regularity of crises in CA also has to do with these regions being overpopulated, preventing forest and wildlife teams from conducting controlled burns, which help keep wildfires at bay in other arid parts of the country (https://smokeybear.com/en/about-wildland-fire/benefits-of-fire/prescribed-fires)
With the high price of many forested and fire vulnerable areas (especially in NorCal where property values increase exponentially...seemingly just because) fire resistant building materials could present a good long term solution and prevent forcible displacement. This question also has a lot of social justice layers to it but that’s probably a rabbit hole we shouldn’t dive into just yet.
Not to harp on hemp but here are some interesting things to explore with regard to construction and building materials: sustainable, carbon-sequestering building material or “hempcrete” is fire resistant without the public health concerns of asbestos or fiberglass. Here are a few videos:

- Hempcrete is light, easy to build with (water, lime, hemp shiv), carbon-sequestering and toxin trapping
- Doesn’t carry the same health concerns are traditional building materials
- Concrete presents a short term solution to the problem but isn’t really sustainable. Quickly developing countries use more and more concrete and the particle dust is linked to bad air quality, respiratory issues, etc. Rebuilding entire communities using concrete has negative effects on a larger scale.

Arizona Homeowners Association and Hams Agree on Outdoor Antenna Guidelines
The Board of Directors of an antenna-restricted community in Arizona voted overwhelmingly in April to allow radio amateurs to erect certain outdoor antennas on their properties. Some 75 hams live in the 10,000-home Sun City Grand, a self-contained residential community for older adults. An article in the Grand Ham Newsletter by Gordon Bousman, NW7D, called it “a big win” and said the Sun City Grand community homeowners’ association (HOA) is believed to be the largest in the US to permit Amateur Radio antennas. The HOA board includes one radio amateur. The new antenna guidelines went into effect on May 9.
“The road to success took nearly a year of meetings, negotiations, and occasional setbacks driven by a team of dedicated amateurs who were persistent in reaching our goals,” Bousman said in his article. “While our initial discussion points focused on the possibility of passage of the [Amateur Radio] Parity Act, we later shifted our focus to the value that Amateur Radio operators can bring to the community in the event of an emergency or crisis.”
Bousman told ARRL the group “somewhat” modeled its antenna proposal after that of the Sun City Texas Ham Radio group in Georgetown, Texas, which permitted several years ago. “In our research, we learned that Sun City Hilton Head, South Carolina, and Sun City Henderson, Nevada, also allow certain Amateur Radio antennas,” he added. “There may be other communities with similar antenna permissions, but we did not uncover any in our research.”
The types of antennas permitted are modest. The list includes flagpole antennas that do not exceed 16 feet, verticals that do not rise more than 5 feet above the peak of a home, and wire antennas no higher than 5 feet above the roof peak. No traps in wire antennas are allowed and towers of any type remain prohibited.
“[These] antennas should provide amateurs very adequate capabilities to work long distances on the HF bands and to be able to adequately communicate across our community on the VHF/UHF bands — as well as being able to reach most repeaters in the Phoenix area valley including several emergency repeaters,” the newsletter article opined.
Radio amateurs will need to apply to the HOA’s Architectural Review Committee Standards Office to obtain approval and may only erect two outdoor antennas.
Bousman said more than a dozen antenna applications were submitted in the first week and other hams are working on designs. “We have encouraged all of our ham club members to get VHF/UHF antennas installed as soon as possible so that we can begin our [emergency communication] exercises,” he told ARRL.
The newsletter included technical information on various antenna configurations and resources on where to obtain commercial antennas that would meet the HOA requirements. As suggested reading, the newsletter recommended four ARRL antenna books, including The ARRL Antenna Book and Antennas for Small Spaces.
