(insane post incoming) okay i've been a taylor swift re-recordings hater since the beginning but the Speak Now re-recording is making me INSANE i think it's partially just that i'm having a weird time emotionally anyway but like "Timeless" made me TEAR UP like bro WHAT like something about it being soooo essentially of that era but new like the novelty of it BONKED me over the head with a reminder of what it felt like to hear all those songs off Speak Now for the first time when i just had this IDEA of what love was & hadn't actually experienced it yet (& wouldn't for many years!!) like way before i even knew i was a lesbian just listening to taylor sing "enchanted" alone in my bedroom wondering who the guy she was singing about was & if she ever saw him again (because i was #blessed to not have internet access and therefor not know it was the dude from owl city she was singing about alsdfhaklsdhfasdh) & i remember just pouring through the little lyric booklet & its pictures & intro & mostly it was just me & the music & this picture of her in a ballgown in my head & this made up but hopeful romantic idea of what love is and like S C R E A M

ooooooo okay so right now that would prolly be "giving you something to lean on" which is a m.p100 fic about ritsu with ts and it's reigen comforting him and like. it's just the fact that they're so similar and no one thinks to tell ritsu that it's okay to take a break and to breathe because everyone thinks he knows and that he enjoys everything he does and reigen realizes that ritsu thinks that he's only worth something if he's doing Something and just. ahhhhhhhhhhh

18. The creation that took the most amount of time

My Masters project (talked about here) took from January to August to complete (with a lot of breaks for other deadlines and such). 9 months! My little baby 80 page pdf :)

(Fun fact to nerds: most books have a full page count divisible by 16 because of how the sheets of paper that get cut divide, to minimise paper wastage) (full page count including blank pages and copyright pages and such)

26. Something that inspired you this year

Yeah, there's actually this one show, I don't know if you've heard of it, the CW's Supernatural? Haha, but more specifically this year, from my love of BBC Radio 4's The Archers, I picked up a library book about the history of BBC Radio 4 (Life on Air by David Hendy, it's really good!! His way of quickly but evocatively describing people's character in one - two sentences is so impressive!) and the debates in that over whether radio plays "should" be trying to record as much authentic fly-on-the-wall sound as possible (for one period piece they dressed up the actors in costume so they could rustle authentically lol) or if they should be understood as more traditional theatre, where it is understood that the audience will suspend their disbelief that the characters describing what is happening doesn't have to be fully realistic just as they understand that stage-hands are invisible - these questions have had me thinking a lot about the nature of storytelling in different mediums and how these questions come up with new technologies! They were only able to start having these debates in the 1970's because that's when the recording abilities of microphones were becoming more robust and able to pick up more nuanced sounds AND when television/film acting styles had transitioned from more stilted and formal to more realist and informal. Anyway I used that inspiration plus watching Ghostwatch (1992) to make a PowerPoint presentation about how hauntings in media have changed through technology :)

I am constantly getting inspired by connecting my interests!! I love to learn! If you are having a creative block go and read an essay about something that excites you and talk about it with your friends!! Me every day of my life when someone tells me a new fact: wow that reminds me of [another fact I half remember]
