I've been thinking about this a lot!!! Since he's not human, he doesn't get sick like we do:

He's aware we call it being sick, but his term is 'feeling withered/wilted.'

He doesn't have a temperature, but his skin turns pale and blemished like a diseased plant, and gets kinda slimy and cold like a frog's.

No energy, no appetite, barely talks. Very zombie-ish.

He gets real drowsy and dazed and the only thing to motivate him is seeking out warmth.

He just needs sunshine and sleep to get better so you'd find him laying out in the sun during the day and hiding away in blankets at night, sleeping it off. He only eats once a day, since his body needs rest rather than sustenance.

He's not used to asking someone to care for him, but in this state if MC offered to help he'd honestly just ask you to keep him warm too with zero assumption as to what you might think. He's just a little too out of it to be embarrassed about it.

hhdj okay i know i already talked in the tags but my brain is whirring and i have to Be Somewhere in a few minutes so here we go.

so the binary monster isn't stupid. it sees that the people on the island are upping their egg defense, so brute force isn't going to be enough to get the eggs anymore. thus, it tries a different strategy: possess one of the members themselves.

but who to possess? well it has to be someone that everyone trusts, and not only that, but someone who has been proven to be trusted with the eggs. two big candidates are phil and bad, who have baby sat other eggs on multiple occasions.

bad has the advantage of being most liked in general, but he's extremely observant, and not only that, but he's very social. he hangs out with a lot of very observant people and he does so quite often. he might not have a partner, but he's still not very isolated.

phil, however? he's friendly, but he naturally keeps to himself, generally not hanging out with others unless invited or dragged into shinanigans. phil is also very observant, yes, but with two kids to take care of, he’s not going to have the energy to do in-depth analysis if he notices anything amiss.

like slowly being corrupted by foreign code.
