Peak of deadpan humor was me showing up to The Tops and shouting at Benny in public for shooting me in the head, then intimidating him into going with Boone and Me alone to a room, grilling him hostilely about the fucked up shit he did and what’s going on, asking for a reason not to kill him, not given one, being propositioned as a work partner and going, “Fuck no, Zazz.” then sighing, saying, “No, but. You know what? I’m not going to kill you either. I forgive you. You can just go.” Letting the man who shot me in the head TWICE when he could have just robbed me and left, get up and leave. Him all : ) “Aww thanks.” The second he’s out the door, sends 4 men with machine guns in to kill us (in a casino, unarmed). Thank God I’m with Boone who says he can’t fight melee but yes he can (and how). We manage to win in an insane scuffle. I hit the intercom and Benny is like “All done, Security? Cool—clean up their dead bodies well.” I go “Take another guess.” He goes “WHAT THE FUCK?!?” thankless little shit, hauls ass out of Vegas /immediately/. Chase. Meet that horror show Yes Man and hear his plan. Leave the Casino. Jumped by a Legion spy saying Benny is snagged by the Legion and I should talk to Caesar. I’m like, “Fuck no, Zazz.” I’m gonna have to kill everyone at the Fort. I’m so not leveled for that. Wtf. Trying to form a plan. Standing there exhausted on the steps. Boone comes up. Glance at me. I turn to him. He goes: “…That Benny guy was a piece a piece of work.”
