Finished my Knight of Pentacles card all quick-like (At least drawing-wise it took way too long for me to post this :') ). I've been trying to experiment more with some interesting angles/ foreshortening and that shit is fuckin difficult! Even with Clip Studio's 3D figures as a reference, I feel like the perspective doesn't really look foreshortened until I start shading and shit. It's kind of nerve wracking...

Now for card interpretations! As always this is gonna be under the cut since it's a bit of a read:

The Knight of Pentacles is defined primarily by their work. The knight in this case knows what they want and will work towards it with an almost ruthless efficiency. Day in and day out, they work, seemingly never losing steam or wavering in the pursuit of their goal.

When I choose a character for a certain card I like to make sure the reversed meaning fits with their character if I can and the Knight of Pentacles is no exception.

Majima in 0 is scarily good at his job, but boy does he fucking hate it! When working at The Grand, he barely has energy to do anything more than eat and sleep once he gets off work. It's soulsucking to manage that stupid Cabaret, but he does it because it's the only path he's been given to get back into the Tojo Clan. While this is very much indicative of the reversed Knight of Pentacles, we see plenty of the upright position as well!

When running Sunshine Majima's strengths absolutely shine (pun absolutely intended). He works his ass off to make the club successful and seems to derive as much joy as he can from it given his situation. Work is balanced with building friendships and doing things that are actually somewhat fulfilling to him personally.

I just found him so perfect for the Knight of Pentacles. It was fate or something, I swear.

I know it won't be scheduled for like 5/7 months after that because of he's well book up/ also I'm away for winter break so works out fine but Christ I'm buzzing for being freeeeee of that body dysphoria feeling.

Friend or foe?

Hidden rain does honour to its name. The constant drizzling had turned into heavy rain again. They sure do not lack water here. It really is a bit strange considering that just a few miles from here Sunagakure’s desert territory starts. Gaara has learned early on that water is valuable. You do not waste water in the desert ever. Spill blood but never water. He doubts that hidden rain's children learn that particular wisdom though. Water they have in abundance. As for the blood their ninja had so far failed miserably to spill his at least.

On nights like these he could hear its calling clearest. The full moon made the Tanuki restless. Kill, kill, kill, kill. It was calling for blood just that these days Gaara did not give into it...most of the time. It is difficult though. However he has managed to not kill humans. Shukaku does not appreciate this new attitude. The Tanuki’s blood thirst makes him itchy though. Staring at the moon usually helps to calm his nerves. He is soaked. His usually vibrant red hair tinged brown by now, is stuck to his head.

“If the sand is soaked through fighting is quite the effort” he mumbles, hoping to convince the Tanuki to calm down.

For you maybe...you weak failure of a human...I’m invincible...die and I’ll be freeeeee...it shrieks in his head.

“Invincible hm? Delusional I’d say” he replies which causes the Tanuki to start one of his hateful shrieking rants. Gaara is fairly certain Shukaku would die with him. He does not boycott him in fights after all. He is also certain Shukaku is a liar or absolutely clueless himself. Like with the sleep thing. For years Gaara had been terrified to sleep because Shukaku always told him he would break free and kill everyone. Then there was the time Gaara had not really cared too much if Shukaku had indeed killed everyone while he took a nap. Gaara had then experimented with his sleep schedule a bit. Even though it does not look like it and most people seem to think he really does not sleep at all Gaara did in fact sleep. Not awfully much but he manages to snap a few hours each night from Shukaku’s claws. Not more 3 or 4 though. He does not want to push his luck. Especially now that he does care again. Slowly Gaara gets up. The gourd is damn heavy now. He jumps off the roof and lands on the street pretty much right in front of someone. The sudden appearance startles him a little and he takes a few steps back. Looking up he just stares at them and waits. Shinobi definitely. Maybe Shukaku gets his blood after all. Kill them it shrieks in his head.

“Village?” he asks because he cannot see their headband.

Cozy Little Christmas Here With You

 Edward rolls over in bed and stretches, before furrowing his face in a cool spot on his pillow. He sticks one leg out from the covers and slowly lets himself come to. The room is quiet; no alarm, no overly cheerful radio host and no repetitive music or depressing news. He lets his mind kick into gear at its own pace, for once, as he enjoys the silence of the morning. He has nowhere to go to right this minute and it is a wonderful concept.

 When he finally cracks open his eyes, it is to find gentle light filtering through the curtains and even that is a welcomed sight. It is not the god-forsaken hour of six am and he can enjoy his morning in peace and quiet.

 He sits up in bed, what may as well be an hour later, and smiles to himself when he sees that Étienne is ensconced in his nest of blankets, face towards the space he’d been occupying moments before, where it is warm. There’s a shoulder poking out and Edward places a gentle kiss to it, before he covers it back with the blankets, lest Étienne wake from the cold. It is testimony to how grueling the past few weeks have been, if Étienne is still sound asleep and Edward is careful not to wake him as he rouses out of bed and patters off towards the kitchen.

 Edward sits on his kitchen counter and looks out to his living room, taking in the tranquil scene. The tree stands, decorated with their assorted ornaments. Gifts have been placed underneath it and Edward thanks his lucky stars Étienne had somehow found time to wrap the packages in his busy schedule.

 They’re not entertaining today and so, they have the day to themselves, really. It’s a wonderful thought and one he does not take for granted. The plan for the day is to relax and indulge – or, as Étienne had called it, cocooning. They have plans for the evening, but that is hours away.

 He thinks about making himself breakfast and a cup of coffee he can actually enjoy, but for as much as he’d been ready to start his day moments before, he realises that he should indulge and go back to bed. If anything, he can have a nice breakfast with Étienne later and even that sounds like utter indulgence and the height of decadence.

 The matter settled, he hops off the counter and returns to the bedroom. He slips under the covers and reclaims his spot, Étienne barely budging in the process.

 This, he decides, is the best way to start winter break.

Thinking of a new Au... movie Au where the whole story is just movie in production and the actors just cannot keep their shit together so there's entirely too many hijinks.

The scene under the stadium where Keegan's like holding Ajax and he messes up his line where he's trying to tell them Rorke's hunting the Ghosts, so knowing they're gonna have to reshoot he just dies really dramatically like "I can see the light!" *BLEGH* and Keegan's like "NOOOOOOO, he was so YOUNG! So BEAUTIFUL!" *Fake sobbing ensues* "DAMN YOU CRUEL WORLD!" *Shaking a fist at the sky while everyone else loses their shit.*

The plane scene Logan lets go too soon, before Rorke can say his lil "There's always room for one more!" line, so he's just like "Wait come back! I wasn't finished!"

The Walker interrogation at the pyramid and Hesh just gets too passionate about his angry writhing and actually breaks the ropes and he's like "I'M FREEEEEE!" and tackles Rorke.

And another snag is Rorke can't figure out how to get his and Logan's hands to sit right on the (prop) gun when shooting Elias so Elias is like "No, no, take your time. Logan, help him." and Logan's like "No, okay, your hand here and mine here. Got it? Now go." and then a bunch of dramatic "DAD NOOOO!!!" when Rorke "Forces" him to pull the trigger.

On the beach where Rorke has to drag Logan off and he just goes "Damn, you're fucking heavy." and Logan's like "Did you call me heavy? Hesh, he just called me heavy." "You bitch, don't call my brother fat." "I didn't call him fat! And it's not like being fat is a bad thing, you assholes. Don't shame."

Once Upon A Time Rewatch: 7x14 The Girl in the Tower

Wahoo! It’s my favourite episode of s7! I remember being so excited for this one to come out. 

And I love that this is the 14th episode of the season and is about a tower like ‘3x14 The Tower’, which is probably my favourite episode of S3.

Poor Alice only has her toys to talk to. And that’s been the case for around 7 years. Must have felt so isolating. She’s such an optimist though.

The fact that she has the characters from Alice and Wonderland at her party makes me feel more certain about my theory that Wonderland II was a place she would mentally go to to escape the tower and due to her wish magic it became real. So, in other words, I think she created that realm.

She must have been so terrified when the tower started to shake because she has absolutely no escape. If the tower collapsed she’d still be trapped inside.No wonder Killian was so devastated when he learned the tower was in ruins.

The New Enchanted Forest really needed a name of it’s own. I think they call it the ‘Magical Forest’ in the introduction to the season but it needed a more official name like Misthaven.

Tilly must have literally just past Ivy as she left Henry’s apartment! They’re ex-girlfriends and you can’t take that away from me! Just one interaction is all I ask! Why couldn’t we have got one interaction with them?! They were so so close! That was the perfect opportunity!

Having your mind feel like 2 jigsaw puzzles in one box sounds terrifying like it’d make everything so confusing. It sounds almost like being in a dream and nothing makes sense but while your there it somehow does, except she’s awake.

Oh my God. Poor Tilly finding those hair clippings in her bag and not remembering anything. She must be beyond scared. That’s horrible. She’s probably feeling sick. I’ve never found any hair clippings in my bag but I’ve had bad autistic meltdowns where I can’t remember what happened afterwards. Then I’ll find out and be like, “Jesus Christ. Wtf me?!” It’s terrifying.

I’m glad Robin realised that protecting people who need it is more important than seeking glory.

Find someone who looks at you the way Robin looks at Alice.

Who in their right mind wants to be a prisoner?! I've escaped these walls... but I'm still bloody trapped. I'll never be free of it, will I?” Gaaah! This scene always makes me cry! It makes you stop and think about the psychological and emotional effects Alice’s situation would have on her. It’s heartbreaking!

Robin can sense Alice has magic. Evidence of her still having magic! No one’s taking this headcanon away from me! 

Aww I forgot it was her birthday. 

Alice: “…I didn’t wanna be Alone.” Robin: “You’re not alone. I’m here.” Just take my whole soul dammit!

Facilier’s honesty is so intriguing to me. Usually villains lie to keep those they love but he tells her everything and lets her choose what to do with that information. It’s refreshing and a fun dynamic. 

Do you think Regina ever found romantic love after s7? I kinda like that she didn’t but at the same time I would have loved for them to go back to there own time, just before Facilier was killed. I’m curious about other Oncer’s thoughts on Regina’s love life post-s7, though.

Where’d robin get the cake from? I guess Alice could have conjured it.

I wonder what Alice wished for this time. To spend more time with Robin?

Every birthday when Alice makes a wish Killian and Robin just have to hope she hasn’t got really into, like, Frozen or something and that she doesn’t accidentally wish for an eternal winter and giant ice castle beside Granny’s.

Against all odds, Bart Allen was flying.  

Instead of being held by the hands of an Amazon or Human-Kryptonian Hybrid, he was being supported by the grace of another. 

Below his feet was the rod of the fabled Cosmic Staff, something he stood on as if it were the familiar base of his skateboard. Beyond that were the skyscrapers of New York, a city that never slept. Considering all the hullabaloo the place faced on a daily basis, surely the sight of a Speedster soaring above lower Manhattan would go unnoticed. 

Bart’s arms were askew as he glided through the air, the wind ruffling his hair and causing the material of his clothes to flap around. The smile on his face was as radiant as the sun, unwavering and unending as joy surged through his every fiber.

Behind him was Courtney Whitmore, the Justice Society’s brightest and the current pilot and master of the Cosmic Staff. She was able to balance on Staffy (her nickname for the weapon) with ease, which left her able to wrap her arms around Bart’s torso much like in that one movie about the ship that hit an iceberg and sank. 

Except this occasion was a lot less romantic and more akin to taking care of a large toddler who liked to scream. 

“I CAN FLY!” Bart exclaimed without a care in the world. It seemed that soaring brought out the more vulgar part of his vocabulary. “I CAN FREAKIN’ FLYYYYY!” 

“Oy! Yell louder, will ya!?” Courtney retorted, utterly annoyed. “I don’t think they heard you over in Jersey!”

She kept her arms around Bart’s waist and tried to keep him steady. Never in her career had she dropped someone off the Cosmic Staff (sans that one time with Ted) and she wasn’t going to start now. 

“WE’RE SOARRRRRIN’! FLYYYYYIN’!” Bart yelled, clearly not keen on taking his friend’s advice. “SOMETHING SOMETHING BREAKING FREEEEEEEEE!”

Courtney let out a loud groan as she maneuvered the staff through New York’s atmosphere. “THAT’S NOT HOW THAT SONG GOES!”

Bart continued to grin like an absolute idiot. “I KNOW! I NEVER SAW THAT MOVIE!” 

Courtney’s grip around the Speedster tightened. Clearly, he was one of the more fidgety passengers she had ever given a ride to. 

“STOP WIGGLING! YOU’LL KILL US BOTH!”

“I CAN’T! CAUSE WE’RE BREAKING FREEEEEE!”
