Jake crouches silently in the darkness. As time had ticked by he'd contemplated the wisdom of going to check on the person who had forged out ahead of them but it seemed like a dumb decision. Who knew what might happen to them if they did.

“I haven't heard any sounds of distress,” he mumbled, primarily to himself. “What do you think we should do?”

“it was! What the hell did you think with yourself jumping from that height like that?! What if I wasn’t there to catch you?!” he caught the boy right when he jumped out of the window, John was there to act as backup, not interested in getting involved with whatever spy play it was but he was taking off in the sky like a bullet the second he spotted his colleague throwing himself out for whatever reason. He lands and places the boy on the firm ground

@h-a-unted such a rad person, so excited to speak with them more ooc but LET'S TALK ABOUT THE MUSES. Their characterization of Butcher is perfection personified. I'm pretty sure they're on the writing team for the show??? It's THAT GOOD. The voice comes THROUGH. I'm always in awe of ALL of their writing, I just saw Butcher first so there's a special place in my heart but WOW. Iconic.

He had only stepped into the diner for a bite to eat and a cup of coffee but just when he was about to take his first bite of the breakfast he had ordered he glanced up just in time to see two men walk in the door and just by the looks of them they were trouble. He shifted his glance from the two men to Martha, prepared to intervene if he needed to.

Genesis glances over at Clive, something like amusement on his face. Something special…isn't that the same thing he was told when he was a child? That was different, though. That was a far cry from the life he lives now. He just wishes that he could control his Eikon like anyone else. They all make it look so terribly easy. Whenever he tries to reach out to Ixion, he is met with silence. It's been that way for some years. Even though it's getting a little better, it's nothing like where a dominant his age should be.

Sighing, he shakes his head, looking back out over at the deadlands. “I'm no more special than anyone else, Clive. All I can do is keep practicing, keep moving forward. Maybe one day it'll all fall into place, but I feel like that isn't going to happen for quite some time yet.”

"Dad-" Hughie briefly covers his face with his hands, letting out a long sigh. He's trying. He's trying so hard and Hughie appreciates his efforts, but it still exasperates him. "I told you.
