Nationals Semifinals - Women’s Category
Kuroo Tetsurou prides himself on being observant.
"Mine!"
The scream echoes through the volleyball court. The sound travels around the space like a bullet, piercing through. He can feel it with the buzzing on his ears, the prickling of his arm hairs, the taut of his abdomen. There's very little room in this large gymnasium for anything other than your voice.
Right behind the court, Kuroo watches you as you spread your arms out, demanding room and stopping other players from trying to take the ball. The high ball gets caught in your expert hands, landing perfectly on the spiker’s hand near the net. Setting on the first touch is a risk. He can feel a tiny bead of sweat on his own forehead.
Kuroo Tetsurou loves volleyball.
He's also an excellent student, son and grandson, captain.
To him, all those things are real. Concrete.
He enjoys the game itself, the tactics, discussing new plays, trying to defeat the competition, improve his team. Being a captain is also important to him and he does it well, comforting the players when all they need are gentle words and confronting them when a firm stance is demanded. And he takes care of them.
He also likes studying. The comfort of providing right answers to tough questions proves in and of itself enough reward to someone who's so analytical, observant, smart. Opening up a book, gathering knowledge, putting that to the test—it's grounding and, god forbid, fun for him.
He's also someone one can rely on. The way his obaa-chan dotes on him, his dad prides himself on calling him "his son". An excellent friend too, with the way he watches over Kenma, always concerned with the younger boy—his eating and sleeping habits, his ability to communicate with the other players of the Nekoma volleyball team. He's the caring kind and, if you ask his obaa-chan, has always been this way, ever since he was a little kid.
So, it makes sense that there's little room for other things. Like, say, romance.
Kuroo Tetsurou is observant so, naturally, he knows.
He knows about the girls who swoon over him, whether they confess it on the hallway, with a letter or even an onigiri atop his desk every Friday for three months. The ones who don't say anything are only being slightly less obvious. The flitting of their eyes, blushing of their cheeks, twirling of their hands—it all points towards something that he's, by now, on his third year of high school, well aware of.
Kuroo supposes it makes sense. He is tall, with an athletic, muscly build, even if his body is more towards the lean side. He can't fix his hair for his life, but the more obvious girls have already pointed out to him that it's part of his charm. Plus, he is genuinely nice and tries to get along with everyone, shining his smirk to whomever crosses his path. So, yeah. It makes sense.
Kuroo Tetsurou, however, finds it all too abstract.
Maybe because he doesn't have the time, maybe because this romantic inclination has never hit him. Being a child of divorce might also factor in.
Still, there seems to be no substance to it, though.
Not that he doesn't get it, because he does. He thinks some of his suitors are pretty, there's a poster of a sake ad with a particularly busty lady in the boy's clubroom that catches his eye and he is, after all, high-schooler. But it remains too abstract.
The volleyball club, his almost spotless track record as a student, his home life. That's real, that's concrete.
The opposing team strikes and the ball hits Nekoma's blockers, flying to the end of the court. His eyes are now watching you, sprinting with all your might to catch the ball from the libero, sending in flying toward the ace.
Kuroo Tetsurou feels tethered.
This is also real. The way he can feel himself grounded, glued to the floor, like his own weight could be enough to open up a hole underneath him. The strap of his gym bag weighs on his shoulders, his hand griping it until it pales, his fingernails piercing the fabric. He can't tell if he's breathing too fast or not at all. His heart sits heavy on his chest, watching you.
Nekoma's match point has turned into a rally and god, this point belongs to this team. He's been watching them for a while now and knows how much they've grown, how they've improved into this well-oiled machine, the most important piece being, of course, you. The new setter.
With a philosophy that focuses on receiving and connecting, the women’s team had been suffering in the past two years when its former setter graduated high school. The backup only played volleyball for fun and as such, wouldn’t and couldn’t lead the team to Nationals. Now, it's only natural that Nekoma would rely so much on a player that managed to turn their last bad years around and bring them back to the basics: connection.
One of Nekoma's wing spiker strikes, but the ball gets stopped by the blockers on the other side. The libero digs, barely managing to catch it with an underarm pass, sending it high up and towards the other team’s side. It’s gonna be an out, Nekoma will lose this point, he thinks. Then, she shouts your name.
Kuroo holds his breath as he watches you run from the front of the court, under the net and onto the other side, your sneakers squeaking when you jump off the ground. You look like you're flying, both hands above making their way to the moving ball. You're untethered, he thinks, feeling himself get heavier. You make a pass to a spiker coming from the back, catching the opposing team by surprise, ball landing heavily on the ground, finally claiming this long rally and, with it, the match.
He closes his eyes and exhales, his grip going slack. When he opens them again, you're on the ground looking up, breathing heavily, clenching your firsts. Then you punch the court and let out a scream, being followed by your teammates as they pile on top of you, the backups running from the back of the court to celebrate with everyone.
Kuroo Tetsurou prides himself on being observant.
Yet a part of him feels like he's only now seeing things clearly.

HURRICANE HAX CRASHES BRIAR RIDGE SUMMER MUSIC FEST
On Sunday afternoon, gale-force winds and torrential rain abruptly brought the Summer Music Fest to a halt. Unfortunately, Kacey Musgraves, as the headlining act, wasn't able to get a flight to Briar Ridge in time, due to the weather. With a hurricane warning issued, first responders swiftly shut down the event, urging everyone to seek immediate shelter at Oakland Elementary and Middle School. Upon arrival, everyone was sent to the gymnasium as their gathering point to wait out the storm. First responders assigned various tasks to volunteers to help keep things organized and to divide up the work needed to make sure everyone stayed safe.
OOC DETAILS
Okay, so here's the thing, this is rp. And therefore we are taking some creative liberties with how realistic this will be. So please keep that in mind. If you have experience with hurricanes and any part of this is wildly unrealistic, please bear with us! lol
With that being said, please do not start hurricane threads or reference the hurricane in threads before Friday, Aug 30th. We're posting now so that people have time to plot in advance, but we also wanted to ensure that everyone had time to start just festival related threads first.
Since it is hurricane season in South Carolina, the town has long set out plans for hurricane warnings and the school has been prepared to be the gathering point in cases like this where large amounts of the Briar Ridge population aren't at home and can't get home easily. Therefore, the school is stocked up on supplies and tools to help secure the building and keep Briar Ridge citizens safe.
If you would like to say that your character was injured in the rush to get to the school, or becomes sick during the time that they are stuck in the school because of getting drenched by the cold rain, please run your idea by the admin team by sending an IM to the main! We can't have everyone incapacitated lol We also ask that you take into consideration your character's task (described in the next point & assigned in the discord server) before deciding on the extent of the injury, so as to avoid making it impossible for them to finish their task (I.e. please don't give your character a broken leg if they're going to have to walk around the whole school boarding up windows lol). Once we have approved your character being sick or injured, please make sure to use appropriate trigger warnings.
Every character will be paired up with one other character and given a task once they arrive at the school. Your character(s) can still interact with other people in the school, but we ask that each pairing give priority to and at least begin their task thread while the event is still ongoing.
These tasks can be as detailed as you would like to make them, we've listed some examples in the server of things your characters could do, but you don't strictly need to do that. If you think of something else within your assigned task category, please feel free to write it out instead!
Your task threads don't have to be long or last throughout the entire time everyone's stuck in the school. This is just a chance to get random characters to interact and hopefully get threads going with new writers!
The festival goers will be stuck at the school for 24 hours from when the hurricane warning was issued (unbeknownst to them of course!). If your character has family members, pets, etc. at home, feel free to include anxiety over their safety in your characters threads, but maybe there's someone else already taking care of them? We don't want to create REAL issues for your characters' loved ones!
After having been at the school for several hours, the electricity will go off at 10pm and won't come back on until mid morning the next day, a few hours before they're all allowed to go back home.
Please feel free to get creative with this! We're excited for this as we think it's a fun opportunity to pair up characters who might not have interacted otherwise even outside of the tasks!
If you have any questions, please direct them to the event channel in the discord server!

Senior high was a three-year bright spot between the loss and learning, nineteen and boarding a direct flight to Rio, that there is more than one type of grief.
read below or ao3 link
Kageyama Tobio considers quitting volleyball only once in his life, a year after his grandfather passes suddenly and unexpectedly. Less than a week after he tosses the ball—a perfect toss for C-quick, just as he’d practiced for an hour the night before—and it falls, untouched, onto the court where it completes its arc. He thinks about it, seriously quitting, for less than 24 hours. He still thinks about it, but not seriously.
Coach benches him without another word about it. He watches the rest of the meet from the bench. And feels nothing. There’s nothing left to feel when he realizes he doesn’t want to be on the court. Not after watching the ball fall. Abandoned again. First Miwa, now grandfather. If this time, it was his fault, which means the others may have been his fault as well, right?
Miwa seemed very free after quitting. She started doing other things. She tied her long hair up in pretty, intricate styles, and never looked at a volleyball again.
That’s how it works. On the bench he doesn’t cry but something in him releases. Everything feels very much over, in the moment. The king is gone, off the court.
I miss them. I’m tired. I want to play. I don’t want to play.
The sets pass, until they lose in the third round in a blur of nothing. The swell he’d always felt from the court, the energy of the stadium, putters out. No sting of loss. No rush of victory. No twisting frustration. No images, instant replay, of all the things to practice for next time. None of it. Just the ball rolling towards the far wall and twelve players walking away from the net.
He was going to win the tournament for his grandfather. He was going to win for him and for volleyball and now he’s on the bench. He’d told him, the only time they’d let him visit the hospital, that he was going to win for him. Look, you made me strong. I love volleyball more than them.
He doesn’t quit. Turns out, it’s not that easy.
Too bad he can’t keep his hands off a volleyball—a well-worn plain white ball from camp—at home, even if he doesn’t want to stand on the court like that ever again. He sets it at the ceiling, lying on his back, before he sleeps. He continues his receiving drills against the wall of the house until his mother’s car pulls into the driveway.
Monday is the day that Miwa calls. From Tokyo. A reminder that she’s still out that. They she’ll talk to him, but only for ten minutes a week. Straight out of senior high and she’s off to the big city with a pat on the head and a promise to call and to message. She’d gone to work as a hairdresser and go to beauty school. She was back for the funeral with a new haircut and a second piercing in her left ear.
She calls the Monday after Kitagawa Daiichi loses to Kousen. Instantly, he realizes she’s calling him from inside a gymnasium. He hears it, balls bunching and shoes squeaking, before she says anything. And she says something before he can say, “hello”.
“I joined the local municipal intramural team, so you better keep playing, quitter.”
Mom must have told her he’d stopped attending practice after the prefectural junior athletics meet. He wants to ask her why she quit in the first place. Why she went back, now, of all times. But he doesn’t want to talk about Kazuyo. And it’s probably about him. Her picking up the ball again and him getting kicked off the court are both about him.
“Do they make you cut your hair?” He asks instead.
“No, of course not. They’re not stupid high school students,” Miwa says. There’s a referee’s whistle in the background. It makes him cringe, the way it filters through the phone speaker.
“Oh.”
“The team is actually co-ed.”
“What’s co-ed?”
“Like, men and women. I’m setting to guys.”
“But you’re super short. You were a libero.”
“I’m a better setter than the other guy, so I’m setting for now.”
“Oh.”
His sister was a good setter. But she’d played all positions. Libero, in her final year of junior high when she didn’t grow. She’d been one of the best liberos in the prefecture, despite only switching in the middle of her second year. Her stats almost matched with Shiratorizawa Junior High’s starting setter, who plays for the national team now, she’d told him once.
“I’ll be there for your graduation, so don’t flunk out. I already have my train ticket.”
“Okay.”
And that’s that.
Miwa starts sending him videos of her practices. All of her games are practices. It’s all for fun. She looks like she’s having fun. Her long hair is tied up in a high ponytail. Instead of the typical girl’s volleyball uniform, she’s wearing long shorts like a basketball player and a sleeveless T-shirt. Her arms look stronger than he remembers them.

Sis
[ I haven’t bought any yet. ]
Me
[ You’re going to hurt your knees. ]
Sis
[ It’s nice to know that my little brother is looking out for my knees. ]
Kageyama goes to the last mandatory practice of the year. He tries (and fails) to ignore the looks he gets from everyone on the team. Hashikami doesn’t say a single word to him. Kindaichi and Kunimi whisper to each other in the locker room.
“Look who finally showed up, king.”
He slams his locker door shut. It rattles in its hinges.
Practice is less intense than during the year. They have no matches to prepare for. Only to keep up their skills going into senior high.
And everyone’s chattering about senior high. Kageyama can hear it from where he’s standing for warm up, at least a meter away from the closest players—two first years he’d helped learn to serve-recieve, and who’d given him looks of pity when he’s been kicked off the court.
“I heard the king didn’t get into Shiratorizawa. Didn’t pass the entrance exams.”
“Serves him right. Did he think they’d just let him in for being a genius setter? I guess even they don’t want him on their team...”
“Ya think he’ll go to Seijoh?”
Kageyama does nothing but jump serve practice during open gym. He can tell he’s being watched by coach. He doesn’t ask. He has a ball and a net and nobody’s trying to speak to him. Good enough.
“Kageyama-kun!” Coach yells his name after blowing the whistle to end practice. He watches the ball he spiked land in the far corner of the court, just inside the line. Direct hit.
While he jogs over to where coach is sitting, dread kills the excitement from his pinpoint serve.
“Yes, sir?”
“I hear your teammates are considering where to attend senior high school. If you do not wish to go to Seijoh, I believe that coach Ukai may be returning to coach the Karasuno boy’s volleyball team. I believe he will have sound advice with regards to how you might succeed in the future, there.”
Kageyama had expected scolding or punishment of some kind. Coach had said nothing about his problems with his teammates until they had all made up their minds. He had nothing to say to him on the bench. But now he’s telling him to go to a school he’s never heard of.
“Ukai” sounds a little familiar.
He looks up Karasuno High School when he gets home. He knows he won’t pass the entrance exams for Date Tech, and Johzenji is too far away. Karasuno, “the fallen crows,” he reads.
Karasuno has no entrance examinations. Karasuno isn’t a private school, but it has two volleyball gyms. The school is located closer than any other besides Aoba Johsai. He tests into class 3 on a lonely Saturday morning, the answers to the singular Shiratorizawa entrance exam appearing in his mind at the wrong time. He doesn’t care what class he gets.
Kageyama doesn’t go to Karasuno because he’s looking for any advice. He’s all caught up in Kazuyo’s advice. His grandfather’s advice made him an effective volleyball player.
He wants a good volleyball coach who will let him play.
He goes to Karasuno because he finds a photograph of his grandfather, number 2, next to Ukai’s number 3 at Shiratorizawa’s volleyball hall of fame. They make him go back to pick up his failed entrance exam and he sees it. A hall with every framed photograph of past nationals-competitive teams.
Shiratorizawa Boy’s VB — Spring 1965, Nationals Top 8.
It takes him many years to realize it was the best decision of his life.
He doesn’t know what would have happened if he had gone to Aoba Johsai. Or, by some miracle, had gotten into Shiratorizawa.
Never one to believe in anything besides what he could do for himself, he never bothered to create a mythology around finding the photograph. Nor about his junior high coach taking pity.
Every sports writer writes about him as though he was destined to succeed. Miwa sends him articles when he makes the national team. “Diamond in the crow’s nest”, “genius setter,” “youngest men’s volleyball Olympic team member since 1994.”
She follows it all up with a pleasant:
Sis
[ Don’t get a big head. And block out all the news sites and armchair bloggers right now. ]
She would know. She’s dating a supermodel. “The press are vultures in every industry, brother mine.”
Senior high was a three-year bright spot between the loss and learning, nineteen and boarding a direct flight to Rio, that there is more than one type of grief.
For those years after, he keeps his head down and plays.
And his grandfather’s words find their way back to him, again. Punctuation but not an ending to the career he knows, for himself, wasn’t predestined.
“One day, you’ll find someone even stronger.”
If every victory was for you, just a little bit, to make up a broken promise in a sterile white room, this loss is for me, grandfather.

Theatrics

The lights of the stage had captivated audiences for years, drawing people to stand on those wooden boughs like moths to a flame.
Tommy Inness was young, far too young to understand what he was diving into when he first felt the call of the stage, sitting cross-legged on the floor of an elementary school gymnasium as high schoolers graced their pathetic little corner of the acting world.

Valley by Miyaspetcat
Tightly clutching his Gibson guitar, Katsuki Bakugou steps out of his dark apartment to begin another day of his high school life. While taking a nap in a quiet spot on the gymnasium staircase, he has a chance encounter with fellow student Hitoshi Shinsou, who berates him for letting his guitar's strings rust and break. Noticing Shinsou's knowledge of the instrument, Bakugou pleads for him to fix it and to teach him how to play. Shinsou eventually agrees and invites him to sit in on a jam session with his two band mates: bassist Eijiro Kirishima and drummer Denki Kaminari. Bakugou's voice is strikingly beautiful, filling Shinsou with the determination to make Bakugou the lead singer of the band. Though reticent at first, Bakugou takes the offer after an emotional meeting with an old friend. With the support of his new friends, Bakugou must not only learn how to play guitar, but also come to terms with the mysterious circumstances that led him to be its owner

it's especially bizarre hearing this having been to a tiered schooling system. If you are on the university track school from 5th or 7th grade on - you sure don't feel special or gifted, you are (supposedly) where you are supposed to be, haha and the expectations of your day-to-day performance are matched to the expectation that you'll belong to some intellectual 'elite' after graduating - and it feels insanely ordinary. After elementary school, you are separated into the respective school types and for knowitall-dipshit children that means being bussed across districts - I had an hour by bus each way, every day. After that, chances are you don't regularly meet kids from other schools, much less other school types. If you are the worst student in your home room at a german 'Gymnasium' (the "highest tier" lol), your experience is that you are stupid, even if you'd be doing well on a different school such as one with a vocational track, especially after grade 9. If you are doing well - well that's the expectation, shut up (sth i needed 2 hear back then even more than now haha). When I was a teenager, about 15% to 20% of students went to the "highest tier"/ Gymnasium in my area - that's lower than the national average but I grew up in the middle of bumfuck nowhere: beautiful but cheap because it's remote, lots of cows and Nazis, 0/10, can't recommend. Anyway, how likely do you think it is for those kids to outperform the remaining 80% to 85% in every subject? And no, there are no placements, there is no course system (or home room for that matter, that's why german speakers struggle with that word at resort to 'my class' <- they mean the 20 to 30 kids they spent every day with until the course system starts grade 10 or 11). Until grade 10, you took virtually every class with the same people (ignoring minor exceptions). If you are great at one thing and horrible at another, you might get kicked off your school if being held back doesn't 'fix' the problem.
So this doesn't work either, make no mistake. But the everyday experience at that school is exceedingly ordinary! Your non-academic parents might be proud of your ascent into higher socio-economic spheres (this is mythologized into the germanoid rebrand of the us-american dream, especially concerning school types #Bildungsaufstieg), but at school, noone gives a shit if you struggle. You are supposed to be gifted, duh.
And when you actually go to a designated school for The Gifted™ - and this time they'll flat-out call themselves 'Eliteschule' - whatever constitutes being part of the elite-to-be has to be so exceedingly rare that it couldn't be found everywhere - I had been scouted by a sports (boarding) school (reminder: all of these are public) one of my classmates went on to be internationally successful but.. the linear progression of time and not winning at the olympics + becoming the next national coach can raise quite uncomfortable questions about the rest your life after 30 but, oh well haha. There was also a school for the intellectually gifted in the same complex, it's another part of german educational mythology (whoever is hochbegabt). With a total of 43 (sports) schools with each having a different profile for the kinds of sports you could do there and a very limited capacity of around 20 students per year/school, you knew - and you were reminded constantly - that you were the exception. Break it down to your sport and we are looking at a handful of teenagers in your cohort across the entire country. Needless to say, these were also supposedly on the highest tier academically but that might be a point of contention. (Unfortunately, I couldn't find a number for how many elite schools for academics there are but I guess it's safe to say we are in the same ball park of around 40)
So I get it, your individual reality is shaped by the categories that are available to you but yeah, if you're doing something supposedly special, ask yourself: How many people are doing the same thing and is that number significantly small? I don't mean this as a dig bc virtually every time the answer will lead you to this: it's not that deep and there is no need to prove yourself, you are entirely ordinary if you compare yourself to people of similar background and experience. It's a shit system here as well, exemplified by the fact that every state fucks it up a different way, but this separation that immortalizes class differences leaves no room for illusions that you are exceptional inside of your cohort, if you want to be cynical about it. It's still the default for people who went to university and/or a Gymnasium to derive a sense of superiority from that and yes, we hate that and those people need to go fuck themselves (urgently) but it's incredibly unlikely that you felt like the smartest person in the room all your life. There aren't even enough private schools to just purchase that experience. This kind of downtrodden mediocrity allows for a different array of oversimplified interpretations but here is my favorite: we don't produce a lot of self-proclaimed idiot-geniuses graduating to the very apex of hubris so, huzzah
People talk about gifted 5th grade classes like it was a government supersoldier program
#fun fact#i left that sports thing bc i knew i was a fag#and i was not about to be a fag there#very charming people#with a knack for violence#hazing#and antiintellectualism#who would have thought!#german#germany#school#education

It is located in Devonport, on Devonport Naval Base in Auckland. The hospital specialises in surgery and hyperbaric treatment.[1] HMNZS Philomel is the main administrative base of the Royal New Zealand Navy. Originally a training base on board the cruiser from which it takes its name, it is part of the Devonport Naval Base on the North Shore of Auckland, New Zealand. History [edit] The naval base was founded in 1921 when the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy was first formed. The old cruiser HMS Philomel, with her engines and armament removed, was moored at the Admiralty reservation, Devonport Dockyard, Auckland, and re-commissioned as a naval training base. HMS Philomel has been described as the “Cradle of the Navy.”[1] In October 1941, on the creation of the Royal New Zealand Navy, HMS Philomel was recommissioned as the training base HMNZS Philomel. Because of wartime demands for increased training many of her training functions were transferred, along with the ship’s main mast, to a new base HMNZS Tamaki situated at Motuihe Island.[2] Over the years Philomel sprouted many creative additions on her decks in an effort to provide more space for her operations. These physical extensions then spilled over to the use of onshore buildings. In January 1947 the boat Philomel was finally decommissioned and HMNZS Philomel became a land establishment. In 2000, HMNZS Tamaki was decommissioned with its functions absorbed again by HMNZS Philomel. Current [edit] Today Philomel is a sprawling land establishment located at Devonport, New Zealand. It is the home of the Naval Support Services, responsible for the logistics and organisation of Naval personnel, and for visits to the base by foreign ships. Its Naval Community Office provides support for families of naval personnel, and its Te Taua Moana Marae is the cultural home for all naval personnel, regardless of iwi or upbringing.[3] It incorporates the naval college Tamaki, formerly HMNZS Tamaki, which coordinates training within the naval base from new entry or officer training to damage control and command schools that everyone must attend at stages of their career. There are also schools for naval specialisations such as marine engineering, Officer of the Watch, hydrography and communications. The base includes a navy band and a fleet gymnasium.[4] Navy museum [edit] The first Royal New Zealand Navy museum was established in 1974 and was housed in a single room within HMNZS Philomel. It moved to a separate building in 1982. In 2010 it moved to new, larger facilities at Torpedo Bay, becoming the Torpedo Bay Navy Museum. I'm not an archeologist so this is my interpretation from what I have read, discussed with my archeologist co-worker, and as a greek.
the first thing to understand is that, it is not about "dicks out" but overall nude figure.
the gist of why they are in the nude all the time, is "am I actively doing something physical, or am I sitting with my thoughts"
the reason Achilles is a burrito, while Odysseus is in nude can be very simply tell the one seeing the art that Achilles was in mourning and refused to go back to lead his army (he was in his thoughts and was not physically active and refused to be) while Odysseus comes from active duty hence in the nude.
it was rare to see people in nude just walking on the street, but it was very common to see people working in the nude, from artists, to manual workers, to athletes.
the philosophy behind the nude was that, in the nude one can show their perfection. and because the gods were depicted in art in nude to showcase their perfection, the average ancient was aspired to be physically and mentally as perfect as the gods.
now goddesses were dressed, except for a nude Aphrodite (she wasn't always on the nude either)
spartan women would also be on the nude.
then nude was not seen as something bad, but as the purest form.
in the olympics women were not allowed to watch because all the men were nude.
so much so that there is a whole ass story about a woman whose husband and sons were participating, and they allowed her to watch them when she made her case.
by the way women had their own athletic games the same as Olympics, they were called Heraean Games, they were older than olympics
back to the nude
in english language there is a loan word "gymnasium" or "gym" for short.
the first part of the world "gymna" comes from the root word "gymnia" which means "nude"
gymnasium in ancient greece was the school (in modern greece we call middle school gymnasium though we are not in the nude because of centuries of christianity)
so overall nothing about the dick, but all about the full nude as a sign of perfection and physical activity.
sexual nude was also everywhere but that's a separate category.
you can see similar life stances about being in the nude when you look at tribes in Africa or South America.
I read a phrase that was along the lines of, "an artist, a worker, a dancer, need freedom of movement, so them removing their clothes is nothing out of the ordinary, and also it is pleasing to the eye of others"(as in nobody is going to complain when seeing a perfectly build body in the nude)
you may have seen achilles in his miserable blanket burrito but have you seen odysseus Sitting Like That while appealing to achilles in his miserable blanket burrito
achilles looking very "make him stop make him stop make him stop"

The high school I graduated from was the Bearcats, which is an animal that actually exists, but is neither a bear nor a cat, and looks nothing like what we had painted on the wall in the school gymnasium, which was sort of like a grizzly bear body with a cat/mountain lion face and tail.
I attended several other schools, with mascots in the "feline" and "native american" categories.
Anyway, I put "something else????"
