Straight To The Top
(All characters are 18+)
Ryan Holden had always felt like he was stuck. At 28, his life felt like a loop, always the same. He had a decent job in a dull office, a small apartment, and a routine that left him unfulfilled. His world revolved around responsibilities—work, bills, gym visits, and the occasional bar hangout with friends who seemed to be moving forward with their lives, while he stayed in the same place.
Ryan wasn’t unhappy, exactly, but there was a deep-seated dissatisfaction that had been gnawing at him for years. His love life was a mess, and his struggles with his sexuality had always left him feeling isolated. Though he had always identified as gay, he never really felt connected to the gay community. His past relationships had been brief and unsatisfying, leaving him wondering if something was wrong with him. He’d tried to embrace his sexuality, but the truth was, he didn’t fit the stereotypical mold of a "gay guy." His lack of connection with others, both in and out of the queer world, led to endless frustration.
Ryan often thought about starting over. What if he could erase everything and become someone else entirely? Someone confident, successful, and—dare he dream—normal?
It started with a strange email one afternoon. It wasn’t spam. It wasn’t a phishing attempt. It was an offer from a company he’d never heard of: The Rebirth Corporation.
The subject line was simple: "A Chance for a Fresh Start"
The email spoke of a revolutionary service, one that promised to completely transform a person’s life—body, mind, and even sexuality. The process was expensive, but Ryan felt a strange pull. What if this was the chance he had been waiting for? A new life. A new identity. He clicked the link and skimmed through the website. The before-and-after photos were dramatic—people looking younger, healthier, and more confident. Most of the testimonials mentioned how they had completely reinvented themselves, and many even stated they had experienced a shift in their sexual orientation.
For someone like Ryan, who had always felt like an outsider, this seemed like the perfect solution. He could finally break free from his old, unsatisfying life and become the person he had always dreamed of being—someone who could fit in with the popular crowd, maybe even date a hot girl. He’d been tired of his awkward, disconnected self for so long. What did he have to lose?
Ryan booked a consultation. The days that followed were filled with medical screenings, psychological evaluations, and the overwhelming realization that he was about to undergo something radical. The procedure promised to not only reshape his body, but also alter his personality and sexual orientation. It was exactly what he needed, he told himself. No more confusion. No more loneliness. He just wanted to be someone people would look up to—someone who could confidently walk through life and leave his old self behind.
The procedure was intense.
He was led into a sterile, high-tech facility, where the doctors explained that he would be unconscious for several hours as the transformation took place. His body would be reshaped, his mind reprogrammed, and his personality restructured. It wasn’t just about changing his physical appearance—it was about making him into the person he should have been.
As the anesthesia took hold, Ryan’s last thought was that he couldn’t wait to wake up as someone else, someone better.
When Ryan woke up, everything felt... different.
He opened his eyes to a new world, a world where the reflection in the mirror no longer showed him, but someone else entirely. Gone was the scruffy, awkward 28-year-old man. In his place was an 18-year-old high school student with a sleek, athletic build and sharp features. His hair was tousled in a trendy way, his skin clear and glowing. He was taller, fitter, and far more attractive than he had ever been. As he touched his face, his fingers traced the sharp jawline, the chiseled cheekbones. It was almost like looking at a stranger.
His clothes had changed too—no more outdated shirts and jeans. He wore a simple Nike shirt, the logo boldly emblazoned on his chest. His grey sweatpants shorts clung to his newly defined legs, showcasing his athletic build, while his trainers—expensive, sleek, and effortlessly stylish—tied it all together. It wasn’t just comfortable; it was the kind of casual, athletic look that screamed confidence. His outfit screamed that he was a guy who knew how to take care of himself—and had the physique to back it up. It was the kind of outfit that would make any high schooler want to be him, or at least envy him.
But it wasn’t just his body that was different. The transformation went deeper.
Ryan—or whoever he was now—felt something snap inside him. His mind was clearer, sharper, more confident. Gone was the self-doubt that had plagued him for years. He stood straighter, feeling an almost overpowering sense of entitlement.
He wasn’t just physically changed; he was a completely different person now. The more he thought about it, the more he realized that Ryan had been a loser—a weak, confused guy who couldn’t even accept his sexuality. The new Ethan was the kind of guy who could walk into a room and demand attention. He was no longer shy or unsure. Now, he was confident. He was in control. He was better than the old Ryan.
Ethan couldn’t help but smile. For the first time in years, he felt like he had the world at his feet.
And then there was something else. His attraction to men—something that had been a constant part of his identity as Ryan—was gone. He didn’t even think about it. In fact, as he started to interact with people in his new life, he realized that he didn’t want to think about men at all. His thoughts were entirely focused on women.
He felt a strange, almost superior sense of self now. The idea of being attracted to men disgusted him. It wasn’t just that he didn’t want to be gay anymore; he felt like it was something beneath him. He wanted to be normal, to be the guy every woman wanted and every guy envied.
In fact, the idea of hanging out with his old friends—many of whom were gay—began to seem distasteful. He wasn’t one of them anymore. Why would he want to be associated with a group that always seemed so… needy? He was done with all that. Ethan Brooks was better than that. He was a straight guy, a guy who could take what he wanted in life.
At school, Ethan quickly became a presence. He was no longer the shy, introverted Ryan who kept to himself. He was a jock, a natural leader with a sharp tongue and a confidence that bordered on arrogance. He was the guy everyone noticed, the guy who could walk into a room and turn heads without even trying. And he loved it.
He started flirting with girls like it was second nature. He was charming, but with an edge—a kind of cocky arrogance that made him seem untouchable. His confidence wasn’t just alluring; it was commanding.
One girl in particular caught his attention: Amber. She was the epitome of a popular valley girl—blonde, bubbly, and effortlessly beautiful. A cheerleader and a member of the school’s social elite, Amber was used to guys falling all over her. But there was something about Ethan. His confidence, his athletic build, and that aura of cockiness made him irresistible. Amber didn’t waste time on guys who weren’t "top-tier," and Ethan was definitely top-tier now.
Amber, for her part, wasn’t one to waste time with anything "weird." She’d always thought gay people were... well, gross. She didn’t exactly know why, but she just couldn’t understand why guys would ever want to be with other guys. She much preferred the handsome, strong, straight athletes—guys like Ethan, who were popular and secure in their masculinity.
And so, when Ethan began showing interest in her, Amber didn’t hesitate. The fact that he seemed so different—more confident, more arrogant, and a little bit dangerous—was exactly what she loved. She wasn’t shy about flirting with him either.
She sidled up to him one afternoon in the hallway, giving him a big smile. “So, like, you’re totally new around here, huh?” she giggled. “I’m Amber, in case you didn’t know. I’m pretty much the cheerleader around here.”
Ethan flashed her a smirk. “I figured. You’ve got that ‘I’m important’ vibe,” he teased, leaning in close. “But I’m guessing you’re not one to just hang out with anyone, huh?”
Amber raised an eyebrow, tossing her hair. “Nope. You have to be seriously hot and totally straight to make my list.”
Ethan smirked again, his eyes scanning her body briefly. “Good thing I tick all the boxes then.”
Amber grinned, feeling herself blush just a little. She liked his attitude—it was the kind of cocky self-assurance she craved. There was something thrilling about being with a guy who didn’t just want her, but knew he could have her.
As the days went on, Ethan and Amber became inseparable. Amber was drawn to his confidence, and the way he commanded attention without even trying. They started dating, and while Amber enjoyed the idea of being with such a dominant guy, Ethan seemed to grow more and more dismissive of anything or anyone who didn’t fit into his new world.
The more Amber got to know him, the more she noticed his dismissive attitude toward anyone who seemed “weird,” or “different.” He constantly made offhand remarks about how people should just act “normal,” especially when it came to sexuality.
“Like, I seriously don’t get why anyone would want to be gay,” he said one day while the two of them hung out by his locker. “It’s just... ugh, you know? Like, why would any guy want to be with another guy? I’m just not into that at all.”
Amber nodded in agreement, her mind wandering. “Yeah, totally. It’s just so... gross. I mean, guys are supposed to like girls. That’s normal.”
Ethan laughed, glad to know Amber was on the same page. He liked the idea of being with someone who didn’t question him. Amber was everything he’d ever wanted—straight, pretty, and totally normal.
Ethan and Amber's relationship grew stronger. Ethan’s cocky attitude, combined with his irresistible confidence, made him the center of attention. And Amber, while enjoying his dominance, couldn’t help but feel a little proud. She knew she could change him, shape him into the perfect guy—a straight, athletic guy who was everything she had always dreamed of.
For Ethan, it was simple: He was on top now. He was in control. He had won.

Fray (Into Submission, Part 4)
Part 3: Lost
Series masterlist
AN: An Avengers training session gives you a chance to show Loki how fun it would be to let you win.
As always, an enormous thank you to @acidcasualties for making this whole series happen. Special thanks to @lokisgoodgirl for checking the accuracy of my swordplay!
Word count: 2.1k
Warnings: 18+; minors DNI. Thirsty with some reminiscing, but nothing explicit in this one. Inaccurate descriptions of combat training. Mostly just lurid descriptions of Loki's smoking hot bod in workout wear, with a touch of plot development.
Days. You hadn’t seen him in days.
There were hints of him; you knew he was still in the Tower. You’d heard his voice a couple of times, and yesterday when you’d stepped into the elevator you could smell that he’d been there minutes before. But he’d upped his avoidance game. It made you sad, and a little afraid.
The look of anguish he’d worn as he’d cast you out of his apartment remained etched in your memory, leaving the subtle ache of guilt in your chest. Had you gone too far?
You mulled it over as you pulled on your gym gear. Loki might still refuse to talk to you this morning, but you were confident that you would at least see him. After several of your coworkers had missed Saturday afternoon’s impromptu training session, Rogers had rescheduled for first thing Monday morning, with strongly worded insistence that everyone be in attendance. His WhatsApp message didn’t quite single Loki out by name, but none of you was in any doubt about its intended target.
The spacious training hall gleamed with the sunlight that streamed through the large 26th story windows, casting a warm glow on the polished mats. The luxury of the Tower was as prominent here as on every other floor. The gym was loaded with state-of-the-art equipment and comprehensive accessories, all meticulously maintained - as though getting your arse kicked by a handful of superheroes would hurt less because there wasn’t a speck of dust on the yoga mats, you thought wryly. You peered hopefully around the room as you entered. I just need to know that he’s OK, you told yourself.
Loki and Thor were sparring hand-to-hand in the open rink, the soft thudding of their bare feet resonating as they moved around one another. Occasional grunts carried as one of the pair landed a strike. Despite Thor’s size advantage, they were evenly matched; Loki was always a fraction faster, seeming to know exactly where Thor would move next, as though each step were choreographed and practiced to perfection. Observing them was like watching an ancient dance. Which is exactly what it is, you thought, momentarily awed. A fierce, millennium-old dance.
Thor’s bare chest, though impressive, was still somehow less appealing than Loki’s lithe form, clad in workout wear that clung tightly to his broad back. You let your eyes blatantly traverse him. His elegant ankles smoothed into perfectly sculpted calf muscles; his Godly hamstrings flexed under the hem of his training shorts, which in turn restrained his flawlessly rounded glutes. His body was utterly splendid. A delight of form and function, forged by centuries of practice and power. A work of art.
If he would just put that phenomenal dedication and discipline to good use in service to you…
“Time!” Rogers called loudly, and the brothers stepped back, arms lowered, chests heaving. Thor clapped Loki on the back amicably, and for the briefest moment, you saw Loki wince. The small movement made your blood run hot.
Pain.
“Three minutes, everyone!” Rogers continued, before consulting the pairs listed in the complicated run sheet on his ridiculous clipboard. “Two and eight,” he began. “Three and twelve. Four and… Sixteen.”
You groaned inwardly, pushing thoughts of your recalcitrant conquest from your mind. The Black Widow. Not exactly a leisurely start to the morning, then.
“Come on, sixteen,” Natasha laughed. “Show me what you’ve got.”
The room filled with the sounds of Avengers in practice: thudding boots, wordless shouts, the familiar hum of mutual respect and collective, focused power. As you sparred, you began to relax into the collaborative energy, muscle memory activating as your training partner led with her familiar fighting style. Nat feinted here, and you responded there; the two of you were strong, and graceful, and -
Thump. You landed flat on your back on the hard mat. Again. At least this time you’d seen it coming. Your body just… didn’t move that way. Or that fast.
“You’re getting better,” Nat insisted as she hauled you to your feet. “You almost avoided that one.”
“I saw what you were doing,” you agreed, somewhat reluctantly. “I just couldn’t do anything to stop you.”
“They rarely can,” she winked, as Steve’s obnoxious whistle sounded again.
“Drinks!” he shouted, “then re-pair for weapons.” He returned to his spreadsheet, muttering numbers to himself, as you reached for your water bottle and your thoughts – and eyes – returned to Loki.
He was sauntering towards the group with Bucky, shoulders thrown back in haughty masculinity, animatedly wiping sweat from his brow with his sinewy forearm. Whore, you thought lustily. They looked almost amicable. You gazed at him, curious; confused. He seemed… fine? Loki caught you watching him and gave you a wink. A wink. Almost like…
Like old times, you thought. What is going on?
You turned away, chugging water, then wiping your mouth with the back of your hand. He seems fine. Was it real? If he was truly so nonchalant, why the vanishing act over the past few days?
You were still standing there, bemused, when the team began to pair off again. In your distracted state, you’d missed the next call. Who…?
Only one person remained by your side, and his imperious gaze left you in no doubt as to your next partner.
Loki.
You moved together to one end of the training mats. This close, you could see the fine trails of fresh sweat across his bare shoulders; smell the sweet scent of it heavy around you when he raised his arms to pull his curls back into a messy plait. You imagined the saltiness of it gathered in the valleys of his muscular, sinewy body, with which you had so recently become better acquainted; the way it would pool and concentrate in the deep hollow of his jugular notch.
I could make you sweat like that.
He continued to smirk at you mischievously as he moved into position, as grandiose and egomaniacal as ever. “Short swords, Agent?” he drawled, a short, thick blade appearing in each hand with a flicker of green.
“Just one, Laufeyson!” Rogers shouted, before you could respond. Loki raised an eyebrow at you, flirting with the idea of arguing; but he wordlessly vanished the weapon on his left.
“You didn’t want to lend that to me?”
“Darling, they are hundreds of years old,” he drawled coolly. “I don’t lend them to anyone.” Turning to fetch a training sword, you hid a smile at his words. Had he forgiven you?
Or he’s just feeling cocky.
The gym’s practice swords were hung neatly at the far wall. You tried to pick one that was long enough to be effective, but not so long as to be cumbersome. It was highly irrelevant; he was faster, stronger, and infinitely more skilful than you. You selected a narrow doge sword that at least felt comfortable in your grip.
The gym echoed with the ring of steel on steel as your peers sparred. How many rounds had it been? Each time you lasted barely a minute before he outdid you, the sharp edges of his blade finding their mark at your shoulder, your thigh, and once, your collar bone. Despite your budding fatigue, you found yourself mesmerised by him. He wielded the ancient sword with harmony and fluidity, so fluent was he in its unwritten language, so familiar with its little quirks. Like an old lover, you thought madly, as you struggled to steady the vibrations of the blade with each parry and clash.
His weapon whistled again; this time the flat of his blade struck your hand, and you dropped your own sword. He stepped back to patiently wait for you to ready yourself again.
His fitness was phenomenal - you were breathing hard, your arms burning, and he barely seemed to have slowed. The smirk he’d given you earlier was once again pasted across his beautiful, pretentious face. Patient, but smug.
“Where have you been, Loki?” you asked as you retrieved your weapon, buying time to catch your breath. Dammit, your knuckles stung; you hoped it wasn’t obvious.
“Here and there,” he replied easily. No denial this time. “Are you ready?”
“I was worried about you.”
“If you mean that you feared for my safety, I am most able to defend myself.”
“That’s not what I meant.” For a second you thought you saw a flicker of vulnerability return to his features. If you did, it was quickly swallowed by his traditional haughty confidence. “I just… Well, as long as you’re OK.” Ready, you lifted your blade - and a thought occurred to you.
The timing had to be perfect; if he hadn’t been looking directly at your mouth, he might have missed it. Provocatively raking your eyes down over his long body, you bit your lower lip, and gave a tiny, breathy moan.
It was horribly overdone, but it worked. Loki hesitated for a fraction of a second, his eyes widening, and you took advantage of his momentary distraction to slip below his guard; the steel of your sword captured his, and you pushed - hard. There was the harsh sing of metal-on-metal as you slid down the blade, checking his weapon against his chest. His move was forfeit. He stepped backwards off the edge of the mat, losing his balance - and you pinned him against the wall.
You pressed your body into his, your mediocre blade below his chin, and carefully assessed his face. Was he irritated by your trick? If anything, he seemed… amused.
“That,” he said lightly, looking down at you over his long, regal nose, “was an interesting tactic.”
“You know what they say,” you muttered, still breathing hard. “If you can’t beat them…”
“I dare say it would not be widely effective,” he added.
“More than you think, perhaps.”
And then you noticed it: the slight flush to his cheeks, which could be excused by the workout. The twitch of a muscle at the corner of his jaw. The feel of his perfect cock swelling slowly under his training shorts.
Not amused… Aroused.
Loki knew the moment you’d realised his state of mind. Or rather, state of body.
You’d opened your mouth in mock astonishment, your eyes bright with barely contained glee.
“Are you enjoying this?” you had asked, quietly delighted. The crossed swords had still been pressed unrelentingly against his chest, his blade locked tight under yours. It made his pulse quicken pleasantly.
Loki had given a small, wordless huff, but he didn’t trust himself to speak. In truth, he’d found it highly enjoyable; your control, your audacity, your erotically mischievous little decoy. His own powerlessness. But how could he admit that to you?
The sounds of water splashing off bathroom tile brought him back to the present. Gingerly, he stepped under the heavy jets; steam enveloped him. Lathered soap formed clouds of bubbles that washed away the training-hall grime, the sticky salt that clung to his skin like a fragrance. The precious soreness that assured him that he had worked for this. That he had earned it.
How could he admit that to you? The question turned over in his mind like the soap in his hands, slippery and fraught. It should be simple, really; the evidence was laid bare before him, stripped of illusion and ego in the privacy of his mind. The chamber. The Genuflexa. The young man, beautifully bound. The way your body had risen in his mind's eye to bring him undone, not just then but so many times since…
He let the water run through his long hair, raking his fingernails to help it penetrate all the way to his scalp. He liked the way their sharpness felt on the sensitive skin.
… And in counterpoint, the betrayals of his youth. The early memories of hurt and rejection that had sown the seeds of distrust. The expectations of masculinity and dominance, and the familiarity of the long-worn mask.
Loki lifted his chin to shake the heavy, saturated mass of slick curls out behind him, squeezing the last of the water from it. He thought of you; of how much he would like to tend to your sore muscles, to soothe the bruises you would surely have sustained in combat today. To gently run his fingertips over your scalp, and hear you sigh with contentment.
There was only one sensible question, he decided as he stepped from the lustrous shower recess. Steam was clearing to reveal his glistening face in the bathroom mirror. Did he trust you?
He dried his hands, and picked up his cell phone.
Alright, Agent. Prove me wrong.
Almost immediately, he received your reply. The tone of it sent a little shiver down Loki’s spine.
9pm, my apartment. Be punctual.
Before he could interrogate his feelings about it, his phone gave another gentle ping.
Wear your cape.

rest of the cook family: lady cook & cressida wells makeovers
the lore says cressida is lady's personal, live-in esthetician but in my mind, cressida is more like lady's esthetician + personal assistant + babysitter for the family's teen daughter + captive audience for lady's emotional breakdowns.
in her youth, lady used to be a model and actress in bridgeport before she decided to marry jeffrey cook for his money, and to live the life of a pampered stay-at-home trophy wife. 20-ish years later, she finds herself painfully bored, lonely, and absolutely hating her husband and her daughter. the only things that distract her from her misery are her shopping trips, consulting her plastic surgeons for procedures to try next, and getting treatments at the spa. recently, she has been trying to spend more time at the upscale SOLSTICE members-only gym wellness club downtown, taking yoga and pilates classes in the afternoons and evenings. she hopes to make some girlfriends, and well, the attention from the hunky trainers and gymgoers is nice too. for a few hours, she's in a luxurious bubble full of beautiful people and organic handcrafted fruit smoothies and eucalyptus-scented towels, where none of her troubles can follow her.
cressida hates her job but at least the cooks pay well, and at least she isn't hunched over all day at the spa giving massages and pedicures and breathing in the fumes of god knows what chemicals. occasionally lady even gives her some designer items she doesn't want anymore, which cressida promptly sells off at the consignment.
on cressida's rare days off, she likes to go out dancing with the other girls from the spa, drop the customer service persona, and catch them up on the latest cook household drama. all of them take turns venting about their wealthy clients' bullshit shenanigans over drinks and appies. cressida wants to eventually meet a guy, settle down and start a family, but she's not in a hurry. working for the cooks has taught her the importance of choosing a partner wisely because she knows she doesn't want to end up miserable like them.

2051: The society changed and reproduction is controlled under law. Young guys between 18 and 25 are drawn randomly for vasectomies. For each year there will be a quota to reach. Guys can get a vasectomy voluntarily. If they do so they get rewards. They get $5,000 per month for one year from the government and will qualify for the vasectomy reward system. In addition the city of Liverpool is adding a 5 year membership at a local gym. These 5 friends are going into their voluntary vasectomy procedure today. Will (20, left), Damian (19, second from left), Marvin (19, second from right) and Bill (19, right) are gay and decided to get the procedure. In the center is standing Dennis, the 18 year old brother of Damian. He turned 18 a day earlier. This qualifies him for an additional reward: $10,000 if he's doing it within a week after his 18th birthday. The procedure is consisting of following stages:
Consultation
In this stage the volunteers get the last informations about the procedure and sign all documents. They can stop the procedure at this point. But there are rumours that nearly all people were drawn for mandatory vasectomy after ducking out at this stage. And that would mean that they get the procedure but without rewards.
Harvesting
All guys get a harvesting session before vasectomy. This is starting with a drugged drink. This drink is an aphrodisiac and produces a boner for at least an hour. Then the guys have to get naked and are restrained. They get a cannula into their arms. A milking machine is connected to their dicks and then they're milked until nothing comes out. As this procedure is exhausting a calming drug is injected into each guy via the cannula. The harvested cum is stored and can be bought by women/families for reproduction.
Vasectomy
Then the vasectomy is starting. For that the milking machine is removed and the dick and balls are to be cleaned. After that a numbing spray is applied but the most guys are still in their dream world from the harvesting drug. And some volunteers are describing the vasectomy as if it happened in a dream.
Aftercare
All volunteers are getting RFID chips into their hands. These chips are the proof to get the vasectomy rewards. Then the cannula is removed and the guys will be put into the consciousness room where they wait in a lounge area until the drug isn't working anymore. Then a taxi service is bringing them home. Next day they'll find the first money at their bank accounts.

Day 1: Maintaining the Feeling of Being a Successful Business Owner
I've decided to start blogging again and I thought it would be great to start it today on the 11/11 portal. Today is a very powerful day for manifesting and I wanted to just have fun starting another daily challenge of keeping myself disciplined.
I did a 30 day BBL challenge two years ago to build my dream body (view the #me or #fitness hashtags to see what I'm talking about if you haven't already. I love what I've built physically but also mentally and emotionally. I'm more confident in myself, love myself so much more, and I hold myself to a higher standard than I have before starting that challenge.
So now I want to start a new 30 day challenge of blogging how I'm building the discipline to be successful IT Security business owner. I have been working on this for years but always fell back into doubt and fear. I think now that I'm single and I don't have anyone around me distracting me or trying to destiny swap with me I have all of my energy and power back to go full throttle. I also want to see where my confidence is by December 11.
I built an unshakable discipline for going to the gym now I can't miss a day or I feel like shit. Now I'm even walking more during the day to close all of my fitness rings on my Apple Watch. I want to get to the point in my business where I can't go a day without making an informational post for digital security across social media, expanding my knowledge in the field, and providing my clients with the best security solutions possible.
What I Worked on Today: - Building out pricing matrices for all of my services to ensure I'm making at least $10K/month - Some cloud storage filing for my first client since starting the IT Security Consulting side of my business (I've done career consulting before but slowly phased out of that because it wasn't fulfilling for me) - Joined some Facebook infosec groups as well as did some branding on TikTok for my business
What I Learned Today: - Taking aligned action is everything. Doesn't matter if it's perfect (Which has been a setback for me in the past. Trying to make sure everything is perfect instead of just creating/doing) - Keeping an abundant and positive mindset will take you far. Ever since I've decided to work on myself and become a more improved version of Empress/Tailor I have decided to let go of so many limiting beliefs. Not just in business but in money, love, and intellect. - Neville Goddard and taking frequent breaks keeps me motivated. I realized that when I'm sitting down for too long I tend to get restless and can't focus as well. Taking frequent walks and having Neville in my ear telling me to keep my thoughts aligned is why we're even here blogging because I've wanted to get back to this for a while tbh
Motivation: - Today being 11/11 and just feeling like a brand new woman. I almost slept in this morning but I hacked my brain to shut tf up and forced myself to get up and go to the gym. Multimillionaire me gets her ass up and goes to that gym at 5AM everyday unless something comes up and I can't make it. If I can't make it I'm getting atleast 10K steps in - Knowing that my reality right now is literally just a product of old thought patterns and everything I'm thinking and feeling now will produce in my 3D reality because it's law - Seeing reality literally bend to my will as I stay in the end state. At this point I'm just having fun and playing this shit like a video game.
Challenges I'm Facing: - I am quickly learning to tell my conscious mind to stfu and stop trying to tell me a plan B. There is no plan B. Everything is working out for plan A. We're literally right back to plan A after years of having plan b's and c's.
Milestones and Progess: - I had two consultations scheduled today! I can't wait to work with them and start their projects - I'm blogging on Tumblr again! Eventually it will be back on a website I'm running - I completed 95% of the tasks on my to-do list. Before I was only completing about 45%. This was also after I told chatgpt to give me a more aligned focused work schedule so I know how to curate my tasks for everyday so I'm making more aligned progress.
Well that's all I got for tonight. It's 9:17PM and another one of the things 3.0 version of myself does is get to bed before 10PM and gets off social media at this time. I want to be more intentional with my time and make sure I'm getting more sleep as well to stay healthy and have a fresh mind in the morning.
Here is my current website with all of my services and affilitae links: https://thedigitalempress.carrd.co/#
Take a look at it and let me know what you think. And if you read all the way to the end you're a real one. I plan on making this journey very enjoyable and inspiring for those following along. Thank you for tuning in.

Instagram Model Forced Followers Into Sex Work, Kept Them As Slaves
Former Brazilian model and US-based wellness influencer Kat Torres has been sentenced to eight years in prison for the human trafficking and slavery of women, after an FBI investigation found that two women living with her had gone missing in 2022.
Women who claim that they were also trafficked and enslaved by Torres have spoken out about their harrowing experience living with her. Talking to BBC, the women claimed they were attracted to her rags to riches story as she went from living in an impoverished Brazilian neighbourhood to partying with Hollywood stars.
Torres, who was once rumoured to be dating actor Leonardo DiCaprio, also claimed she could make predictions using her spiritual powers and was a common face on reputed Brazilian TV shows.
“She was on the cover of magazines. She was seen with famous people such as Leonardo DiCaprio. Everything I saw seemed credible,” the woman named Ana told BBC.
Torres' former flatmate, who shared a home with her in New York, told BBC that her Hollywood friends had introduced her to a hallucinogenic drug called ayahuasca. It was through the use of this drug that she reinvented herself as a life coach and hypnotist.
Soon, Torres developed a wellness website and subscription service that promised customers “Love, money and self-esteem that you always dreamed of.”
She also created self-help videos offering advice on relationships, wellness, business success including hypnosis, meditation and exercise programmes. She offered one-on-one video consultations for $150 that would solve "any of their problems."
In 2019, Ana moved to New York to work as her Torres' live-in assistant. Escaping a violent childhood and an abusive relationship, she moved alone to the US from Brazil and was studying nutrition at university in Boston.
The work required her to look after Torres' animals, cook for her, do her laundry and clean for $2000 a month. But when she arrived, the situation in Torres' house shocked her. The house was filthy and she was forced to sleep on a sofa covered in cat urine. She was expected to constantly be available for Torres, only being allowed to sleep for a few hours. She would sneak away to the building's gym to sleep for a few hours. She was never paid.
After Ana escaped, Torres hired two more women -- Desirre and Leticia-- who moved with her to a house in Texas. What started out as a life coaching and healing retreat quickly turned into a nightmare for the women.
Within weeks, Desirre was pressured her into working at a local strip club while Torres performed “witchcraft” on her. The two women were forbidden from speaking to each other and had to ask her permission to leave their rooms, even to use the bathroom.
Soon, Torres convinced Desiree to turn to prostitution. If she didn't meet the earning quotas that Torres set, she was not allowed to return to the house that night. “I ended up sleeping on the street several times because I couldn't reach that,” Desirre told BBC.
In September, the two women's friends and family launched social media campaigns to find them. To escape media attention, Torres and the women travelled from Texas to Maine. From there, the two were made to post Instagram videos denying being held captive and demanded people stop searching for them.
Over 20 women have come forward with stories of being scammed or exploited by Torres. They are still undergoing psychiatric therapy to recover from what they say they experienced.

With a few hours to kill before his shift and an abundance of unshakable energy, the castle’s gym seemed like the most logical place to waste some time and keep himself healthily occupied – a pledge Cían was hopeful to stick to post-emancipation. The centuries spent under strict regime and schedule had become the norm all too quickly and now that he found the vast majority of his days spent with nothing but free time, Cían was struggling to keep toeing the line of peaceful, respectful boy-next-door. The need for his retrieval services on his mother’s side had been in too short a supply to feel sufficient and with both sides of his being starving to be nurtured now that they were no longer stifled, the hellhound’s default state as of late had become a distinctly uncomfortable mix of irritable and antsy.
Cían had been so lost to his thoughts that he’d missed the right corridor entirely, too busy scowling at the castle’s floor in a petulant daze as he’d followed what he’d believed to be the usual route, realising far too late that he’d been following Dublin’s castle’s floor plan out of sheer habit; after a while, each castle blended into one in one way or another within the mind when you weren’t at the top of the chain and though he loathed to admit it, his first residence there still felt like some form of home despite the horrors. Shaking his head with a humourless laugh at his own idiocy, Cían took in his surroundings and glanced from door to door and stepped closer to the wall to slowly read the nearest plaque, quietly sounding out the letters until he reached the second letter of the surname and a loud bark of laughter left him involuntarily, realisation and memory entwining in his mind simultaneously as he moved to knock twice on the office door.
He didn’t wait for a response as he let himself in and shut the door behind him to rest his weight against it, taking a moment to study Seth and familiarise himself with the other’s scent. No matter how long ago a hunt was, Cían never really forgot the scent of a former target. There was a distinct charred edge to it now and the noticeable change coaxed a smile to the hellhound's face for a moment – he really had managed to get himself out after all, then, had he? It was an impressive feat, he'd give him that. Cían hadn't been sure if the rumours he'd heard had been entirely true but if the sight before him was anything to go by, they clearly had been. Schooling his expression into something less obviously amused, he watched the magic consultant curiously, a beat of further silence dragging out before Cían remembered that he'd been the one to interrupt the peace. “Seth. Seth Harper. You got a minute?”

Personal Training NYC: Elevate Your Fitness Journey
In the bustling metropolis of New York City, where time is a premium and the pursuit of wellness is ever-growing, personal training has emerged as a pivotal solution for achieving fitness goals. With a plethora of options available, finding the right personal trainer in NYC can be a game-changer for those seeking tailored fitness plans and expert guidance.
Personalized Fitness Plans
One of the primary advantages of Personal training NYC is the customization of fitness plans. Personal trainers in the city offer personalized programs that cater to individual goals, whether it’s weight loss, muscle gain, improving athletic performance, or enhancing overall health. These customized plans are based on a thorough assessment of each client’s fitness level, medical history, and specific objectives.
Expert Guidance and Motivation
New York City’s personal trainers are renowned for their expertise and diverse specializations. From certified strength and conditioning coaches to yoga instructors and rehabilitation specialists, NYC boasts a wide range of professionals who can provide expert guidance. These trainers not only offer instruction but also serve as a source of motivation. Their support helps clients stay committed to their fitness routines, especially in a city where distractions are abundant.
Flexible Training Options
Flexibility is another key benefit of personal training in NYC. With the city’s fast-paced lifestyle, personal trainers often offer various training options, including one-on-one sessions, small group training, and virtual workouts. This flexibility ensures that clients can fit their workouts into their busy schedules, whether they prefer training at home, in a gym, or even outdoors.
State-of-the-Art Facilities
Many NY Personal Trainers operate out of state-of-the-art fitness facilities equipped with the latest technology and equipment. These facilities offer a motivating environment where clients can engage in a wide range of exercises, from high-intensity interval training (HIIT) to functional fitness. The availability of advanced equipment and amenities enhances the overall training experience and helps clients achieve their fitness goals more efficiently.
Holistic Approach to Wellness
Personal trainers in NYC often adopt a holistic approach to wellness, addressing not just physical fitness but also aspects like nutrition, stress management, and overall lifestyle. Many trainers offer additional services such as dietary advice, mental wellness coaching, and recovery strategies. This comprehensive approach ensures that clients receive well-rounded support, promoting long-term health and well-being.
Community and Support
Joining a personal training program in NYC can also foster a sense of community and support. Many trainers create an inclusive environment where clients can connect with others who share similar fitness goals. This sense of community can be incredibly motivating and make the journey towards better health more enjoyable.
How to Choose the Right Trainer
Selecting the right personal trainer in NYC involves considering several factors. Potential clients should look for trainers with relevant certifications, experience, and a track record of success. It’s also important to find a trainer whose training style and personality align with one’s own preferences. Many trainers offer complimentary consultations or trial sessions, allowing prospective clients to assess whether a particular trainer is the right fit.

Pairing: ceo!Baekhyun x Reader Genre: CEO AU Rating: G Summary: You don’t know the first thing about running a business, so you enlist the help of an investor to help you save it. Word Count: 1.3k I can explain Warnings: mentions a deceased parent
Inspired by this post. This is actually part of a larger work I’ve been sitting on titled Gossip Man. I’ve wanted to write something in the style of Kdramas (tropes and all). Depending on the reception, I’ll release it next year or so.
You fidgeted with your clothes, running your trembling hands down the front of your soft cotton t-shirt. Were you dressed too casually? Should you have picked out your job interview ensemble? The email hadn't given you any clue one way or another. You hoped it didn't matter — everything you had depended on this consultation. If it ended badly because you’d chosen denim slacks over the black pencil skirt, you’d seriously consider jumping from the nearest bridge. ‘Calm down, girl. Get it together.’ You inhaled deeply and exhaled slowly through your nose, summoning calm and control of your nerves.
You needed this consultation like you needed air. The old bookstore had meant the world to your mother, and you would do everything in your power to keep it open and operational. Okay, so maybe you didn't know jack shit about running a business. It was also possible that you used a little over half of your inheritance from your mother's life insurance policy to buy the bookstore from the lovely old couple who had put it up for sale. Just as it was more than likely that you would have to use the rest of your savings — all of it — to make the necessary repairs and update the place to be able to compete with other bookstores in the area that offered new modern services like online sales and ebooks. That's why this meeting was so life threatening. If the best investing company Seoul had to offer didn't see a way to save the store, all of your attempts to save it would have been in vain and would leave you in debt. Worst of all, you would lose the one thing your mother treasured and hoped that her grandchildren would be able to visit in the future. You wanted to keep the bookstore open as your way of honoring the woman who brought joy to so many others.
The front door opened smoothly, setting off a high chime of the wind catcher that hung near the door. This is it. You took another deep breath and turned around. A tall, slender man stood there with his hands in his pockets, eyes taking in his surroundings. He looked so out of place, all dressed up as if he were going to a cocktail party or some red carpet affair. He made the dusty, run down store look worse just by existing. As if he could hear your thoughts, his eyes fell on you expectantly, lips curved into a gentle smile. “Ms. Davids, I suppose?”
He extended his hand, but didn’t budge from his spot. Your jaw moved as you tried to find the voice to speak, to answer his question, but your brain had shorted out for a second. “Y-yes. That’s me. Call me _____, please.” You moved around the counter and took his hand, not too surprised by the strength in his grip. Of course, he’s strong. He probably can afford a gym trainer if his suit was anything to judge by. “I was under the impression the agency was sending over a woman, Mrs. Howard?”
Mr. Suit’s eyes were fixed on you now. “She was supposed to come, but I found myself with an open schedule this morning and decided to take the consult. She’s due to have her baby soon, so I thought she’d like to rest her feet.” He glanced at the store, then returned that piercing gaze to you. “Besides that, I’ve been keeping tabs on this shopping center.”
“Y-you have?” You swallowed hard and fought to stand your ground. It felt like he was crowding you, even though he was standing a bit more than an arm’s length away. His presence was so…overwhelming.
He nodded and took a step away from you, examining one of the bookshelves that stood near the register. “Of course. Real estate is one of my areas of expertise. The shopping center has always been a hot commodity since the university opened up. Personally, I’m impressed the owners of the various stores have been able to keep the corporate companies at bay.”
You fought to keep up your friendly smile. “We’re a family here. We help each other out. Selling out to those hounds wouldn’t help anybody.”
“True.” He mused, slipping a book off of a shelf and thumbing through its pages. “But then again, business has been down since the bidding war began, right? What happened to the couple who owned this store before you? The Choi’s?”
You looked down at the ground between you, fidgeting with the hem of your shirt. “Their health isn’t the best right now. With the cost of health care, they couldn’t afford to keep the store open. I bought it from them to keep it open and away from the bidding war.”
“I see. Smart decision, seeking help from an investment firm. My name is Byun Baekhyun, by the way.” He nodded his head towards you, stuffing his hands back into his pockets as he leisurely made his way through the store. You followed behind him, keeping your distance while wringing your hands with worry. He didn’t say much, occasionally asking questions about things he spotted, like holes in the ceiling, cracks in the wall. He even noticed things you hadn’t seen before or thought to look at. It was clear that an inspector would have to come out and thoroughly check the building out. By the time you’d reached the back of the store, the look on his face wasn’t promising. “Let’s sit down and talk about this, shall we?”
Baekhyun extended a hand to allow you to pass by him. As you did, his hand lightly touched the small of your back as he guided you back to the register and prompted you to sit down on the stool behind the counter. He stood in front of you on the other side, resting his elbows on the counter and clasping his hands together.
“It’s bad, isn’t it?” You asked.
He exhaled hard and nodded. “Yeah, it is. I’ll be honest with you, _____. I don’t see how this place has been operational. There are a number of issues I can see, so there’s no telling how much more will be uncovered with a proper inspection.”
“I have money saved up. I’m willing to do whatever is necessary to save this place.” You leaned forward and looked him in the eye. “Please, this place means the world to me.”
He held your gaze for what seemed like forever until he stood up straight. “I’ll arrange for the inspector to come and assess the property. If the repairs needed are reasonable, I’ll have someone set up an appointment with you to get things going.” He looked around the store. “I can’t guarantee that things will go your way, though.”
You nodded, biting your bottom lip. “I understand.”
Baekhyun studied you a moment longer, then took a step forward and placed a hand on your shoulder. “This place has a lot of charm to it and it’s in a great location. Don’t lose hope just yet, okay?”
You looked into his eyes and were startled by the gentleness you found in them. You’d come across a slew of men in suits with kind smiles, offering to pay top dollar for the property if you and the other store owners agreed to sell. Baekhyun’s smile was the first genuine smile you’d seen in a while. You weren’t sure if you should trust him, but it wasn’t like you had much of a choice. “Okay.”

Malex Fic - Let your heart be light
A day late, but this a little fluff for Day 2 of @rnmnewyear2023 Holiday Lights. This is part of an AU I haven’t written yet. The relevant things to know are Michael and Alex left Roswell after Alex was injured but before any of he events of S1 would have happened. Alex is a music teacher and Michael is an agricultural engineer working as a consultant. Pharaoh is Alex's service dog.
Title is from “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.” Thank you to @im-the-punk-who for the song suggestion.
Let your heart be light on AO3
The first year Alex taught at Bristol, Michael kept his distance. He wanted to give people a chance to accept that their new music teacher was a disabled vet with a service dog before reminding them that he also had a husband instead of a wife. But it didn’t take long for Michael to recognize some of the best parts of Roswell in Bristol.
He and Alex were welcomed without question. A small, farming community, Bristol had a hard time keeping and attracting younger residents. When the last music teacher retired, the school had gone two years without a music program until Alex agreed to take the job. The farmers and ranchers had been surprisingly open to working with Michael, eagerly listening to his ideas for making their farms more efficient and profitable. The fact that they were married to each other was unimportant in light of what they offered the community.
Once Michael got to know most of the families in Bristol and the kids Alex taught, his presence at school events was expected. He was reminded that not only should he be there to support his “handsome husband,” but in a town as small as Bristol, school events are community events. So Michael spends the first two weeks of December attending a series of school concerts.
The elementary concerts come first. Kindergarten through third grade on Tuesday followed by fourth grade through sixth grade on Thursday. The gym is packed both nights - filled with parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles and any other adult that can claim a tangible connection to one of the children performing. Michael squeezes into a seat in the back row, letting the parents battle it out for seats with the best camera views.
Michael can tell how nervous Alex is at the beginning of each concert as he thanks everyone for coming and goes through the song order for the night. He keeps his eyes fixed on a spot on the wall, and Pharaoh is pressed tightly against Alex’s leg. But once he turns to the students lined up on the stage, the tension in his shoulders eases, and even though he can’t see Alex’s face, Michael knows he’s giving the kids a reassuring smile before they begin.
Alex keeps the elementary concerts lighthearted and fast paced - full of songs about snowmen, reindeer and sledding. There is almost as much dancing as there is singing, and Michael can see the effort Alex put into making sure each child has a chance to shine. Alex plays the piano for some songs and directs the students for others - Pharaoh relaxed at his feet throughout. Michael laughs and claps along with the rest of the audience, regretting his choice of a seat in the back when Alex guides the kindergartners through pantomiming a snowball fight, and he doesn’t have a good angle to film him.
After the concerts, Michael sticks close to Alex while he accepts hugs from his students and thank you’s from their parents. Michael knows he’s beaming as proudly as the parents are, but he can’t bring himself to care. He loves seeing how much the school has embraced Alex and seeing Alex confident enough to enjoy the attention.
Every now and then, Michael feels a tug on his sleeve and one of the kids he knows from visiting farms or from Alex’s music lessons will be trying to get his attention. “Mr. Guerin’s husband,” they begin, which never fails to make him smile, before asking if he saw their solo or favorite dance move. Michael’s more than happy for them to reenact their favorite part of the concert while they wait for their parents to finish talking with Alex.
It’s late by the time they’ve said goodbye to everyone, and Alex has finished his part of the teardown. On Thursday night, as they make their way through the parking lot, Pharaoh happily walking between them, Michael gets an idea. “Next year we should get one of those antler headbands for Pharaoh.”
Alex gives him an unimpressed look, “She would never forgive you.”
Once they are in the truck, Pharaoh knows she’s off duty so Michael doesn’t hesitate to hold her face and kiss her nose before speaking to her. “You’d wear the antlers, wouldn’t you girl,” he coos. “They kids would love it if you looked like Rudolph.”
Alex just laughs and rests his head on Michael’s shoulder. “Stop tormenting my dog and take me home.”
“Yes, dear,” Michael teases back as he starts the truck.
The next week brings the high school choir concert. It’s Alex’s least favorite class since most of the students are only in it to get an art credit needed for graduation. If they don’t play an instrument and don’t want to take an art class, choir is their only option. There are only twelve students in the class so the gym is only half full - the audience dwindled down to parents and Michael.
The concert goes by quickly. Michael can tell the students are doing their best not to stand out, and Alex has chosen songs that focus on group singing rather than individual talents. When it’s all over, Michael couldn’t name a single song from the concert since he spent the whole time watching Alex at the piano, a sight he will never tire of.
The students rush off as soon as they are released, and it doesn’t take long for Alex to speak with the parents that stay after. Michael is happy to have an early night in this otherwise busy time of year. Once they’re home, he lights a fire in the fireplace and reminds Alex of just how much he likes watching him play the piano.
The last concert of the season is the seven through twelve grade band concert, and the one Alex is most excited about. He’s been eager to show off his favorite class to everyone, especially Michael. He’s been bragging for months about how hard this class works despite their limitations. Bristol is a small school district which means the band is also small, many of the students can’t afford instruments and while they can get them from the school, the school’s instruments are older and not in the best shape - Michael is working on that, slowly repairing what he can. Many bands rely on their students taking private lessons, and Alex is the only music teacher within reasonable driving distance, and many students don’t have time for lessons.
Alex let the band choose their own songs for the concert, and they surprised even him with the challenging material they picked. For the last few months, Alex has been holding extra practice after school three days a week to get them ready for the concert. They get to the school earlier than normal since the set up for the concert band is more complicated than the previous concerts. Even Pharaoh picks up on Alex’s nerves, sticking closer to him than she usually does when it’s just Michael and Alex.
Once the chairs are set up and the students start coming in, Alex and Pharaoh head for the band room, and Michael wanders back to the gym. He talks to some of the parents and teachers he knows before taking a program and finding a seat. It’s another packed house for the concert, and Michael ends up between Mrs. Winthrop whose grandson plays the french horn Michael fixed up over the summer and Linda Myers whose daughter is in seventh grade and plays clarinet. Her two younger daughters, who sang in the elementary concerts, lean over their mother to wave at Michael.
Alex spends a little more time introducing the band than he did at the other concerts. He makes sure to emphasize the difficulty of the material and all the extra work the students put in. Michael can tell he’s more excited than nervous so he’s hopeful the performance will live up to expectations. Once the music begins, Michael can’t look away from Alex. When he was working on his degree, Alex thought conducting would be his least favorite part of teaching, but he ended up falling in love with it. His passion shows throughout the concert, and Michael is not ashamed to admit he thinks Alex is hot as hell when he’s conducting..
The band’s performance is impressive, and they get a standing ovation after every song. Before the final song, one of the seniors Michael recognizes but can’t name comes out to the front of the band.
“Our last song is ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,’ and we had a bet with Mr. Guerin. If we made it to this point in the concert without any major mistakes, he would join us for this song, and I would get to conduct. Do you think we won the bet?” she asks the audience with a wink.
The applause is deafening, and Michael joins in, clapping his hands and whistling.
“That’s what I thought. I’ll take this,” she takes the baton from Alex’s hand and gives him the microphone.
Once she turns toward the band, Michael waits for Alex to walk to the piano, but instead one of the other students brings him a chair. The music starts, and after a few bars, Alex begins to sing:
Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Let your heart be light
From now on
Our troubles will be out of sight
Michael lets out a gasp as tears begin to stream down his face. Alex keeps his eyes on Michael as he sings, and Michael’s not sure he breathes through the entire song. He can’t believe his beautiful, amazing husband who barely left the house the first year they were married, is singing in front of his students and most of their community. He’s not sure he’s ever been prouder.
Mrs. Winthrop pats him on the shoulder and hands him a tissue. When the song ends, Michael is still frozen in place until Lisa nudges him and he gets to his feet along with the rest of the audience. “You got yourself a good one,” she whispers in his ear.
Michael wipes his eyes and nods without looking away from Alex, who is grinning and watching as his students take their bows. It’s all he can do to keep from flinging himself into Alex’s arms once the concert is over. He settles for standing next to Alex and tightly clutching his hand.
Everyone wants to talk to Alex - students and parents hugging him and thanking him for all his hard work. Alex easily deflects the compliments, but Michael loudly agrees with everyone who tells Alex how wonderful he is. Michael’s vibrating with so much energy that Pharaoh side-eyes him and leans into his leg like she does with Alex when he is stressed.

We're recovering.
A month on gynecology, my favorite rotation, helped. Better hours, got to participate in a couple of hysterectomies (doing about 1/3 as an R2 isn't bad, and even got a couple vag hysts under my belt), went to the gym more frequently, spent time with MIGS attendings and made some decisions/organized plans to move me towards MIGS applications next year, deepened some friendships.
I'm on MFM now, which I'm neutral towards. I hated it last block, but this block I'm mentally doing better. I'm motivated to read (I've gone pretty in depth on cervical insufficiency and incidental short cervical lengths, aortopathies, anticoagulation in pregnancy, and syphilis). I don't like early hours and long MFM rounding, but I do like reading! I do like learning! I've enjoyed listening to my attendings diffuse hard situations (a 30 weeker with ICP demanding delivery) and bad news (a new diagnosis at term of fetal hypoplastic left heart syndrome). Nothing I want to do in my career, but it's at list enriching to experience.
I'm making small steps with research: submitted my first IRB for my residency project, made my second round of manuscript revisions for for my medical school project, trying to get an away research rotation to bolster my CV for MIGS. I'm slowly putting project pieces together for my advocacy extracurriculars: organizing an ACOG event, building a webinar for the new OB/GYN application. I got back into my favorite organization app (Omnifocus) and am trying to keep on top of all these tasks and my bills and the miscellaneous texts I need to send. I feel like maybe things are coming together.
I am, however, struggling to balance learning and free time. I come home and read, read, read for work and then don't get a lot of free time and get overwhelmed and burn out. A symptom of my new ADHD diagnosis? Perhaps. Perhaps not. Doesn't matter, I still need to figure out how to cope. It's Sunday and I'm working on MFM and MFM-adjacent things until 5 PM and then I'll try to relax. One of my best friends visited this weekend which was the only reason I wasn't working unnecessarily hard on Saturday.
I go to nights next. 5 weeks of it, which will be the longest I've ever done. I like nights in the sense that at this point in the year I'll hopefully be first pick for arrest cesareans, and my job will be keeping an eye on antepartum and covering the gyne service/consults. Ante is usually somewhat quiet overnight and I like gyne. But 5 weeks? 14-16 h shifts? No sunlight, free time? It will be rough. At least I have 4/5 weekends. And I'll be working on this new medication trial. Which is a mess in and of itself.
But, again, we're healing. And I'm working really, really hard to make sure I'm set up for success as I become a senior next year, especially with being the Saturday 24 h call chief taking care of every single service! It's terrifying but also exciting, because while the growth is going to be fucking painful, I'll be so well-prepared for my true chief year coming out of it.
So uhhhh. We'll see. Life is ups and downs. Finally, I'm on a long-overdue upswing.

Research
Going down the research rabbit hole the night before baby boy starts 3K. I'm really not confident he will be able to handle a classroom with two teachers and 15 kids. Joined a FB group for kids with special needs in NYC. Read and read. Lots of helpful information. Scheduled a free 30 minute consultation with a special ed consultant. I can only imagine how much the service cost and don't think we are far enough a long to need anyone. But I want someone on the back burner if it comes to that.
We did a paid evaluation today at a highly recommended sensory gym. They took him back without me. They will schedule a phone call to go over the results. He had no problem going with her alone - she said he asked where I was at a few times. We had a quick chat afterwards but its hard to talk with him wrecking havoc in the waiting room. Her quick message was all the stuff we already know. Fingers cross they will offer some real solutions.
Next week we have the CPSE - city provided evaluation. Then within sixty days will have a meeting to set a IEP for school. Apparently his 3k teacher will join. That's where a consultant could be helpful. I have no idea what he needs, what to ask for, etc. Some of it will depend on how he does in 3K and what the CPSE evaluation says.
A lot of the parents mention how schools try to kick their kids out. I know our school would never do that but we just won't keep him there if he's causing a lot of trouble. I don't want him to be known as the bad kid. Plus, it feels like a big sign its not a great spot for him.
Unrelated, our living room is filled with 7+ large bags of school supplies. My mom said we didn't have to bring a 1/4 of that much stuff as kids. I spent over $300 - and ignored most of the brand name request - don't have time for all of that. I don't mind but wish we could just pay the school. The shopping for it is a hassle + feel like buying in bulk makes more sense.
The girls are excited to get back. Baby boy is also really excited.
Hosted a lunch for the teachers with the PTA yesterday. Nice to see everyone.
