I just started replaying Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure, and the humor and dialogue in that game does NOT get enough recognition. For example, this scene I redrew between Hugo and Gurglefin that find endlessly funny. (My humor is so broken).

In Terrafin Battles the Boom Brothers, Sonic Boom and her hatchlings were enjoying a day-off at the Fantastic Fairy Fair with fellow Skylanders, Terrafin and Hot Dog. The griffin mother heard someone crying nearby and the trio of Skylanders came upon Rocky, a Rock Golem who was taken from his home by the fair's owner Professor Puck because of his magical singing voice that made everyone within earshot dance. After saving Gurglefin from a sticky cluster of cotton candy, the Skylanders attended Puck's circus show with Rocky being the star attraction due to his singing. Soon, the show was interrupted when a group of Trolls and the evil Sweet-O-Tron 3000 trapped everyone, including the Skylanders, under a layer of sticky candyfloss, and kidnapped Rocky under orders of Kaos, believing him to be the Earth segment to the Mask of Power.

Skytober, Day 18, Ally

Something I always find kinda sad is how forgotten a lot of the NPC's from Spyro's Adventure are. The Floppa Trio are beloved, Persephone reappears, T-Bone and Larbo make cameos, but Gurglefin and Diggs don't appear in the canon a second time. At least they have a prescence in the fandom. General Robot and the Arkeyan Weapon Master just... have nothing. I always adored General Robot, so I drew him.

Here are Flame and Ember from the Classic Spyro series in Skylanders style, and both of them are in the Fire Element.

I have an idea where between Skylanders: SuperChargers and Skylanders: Imaginators, Hunter and Bianca sent them to the Skylander Academy in order to train to become Skylanders as cadets which took almost two years, around the same time the selected Skylanders went to rebuild the Core of Light while the Doom Raiders were re-arranging all the books in the academy's library after they made a deal with Master Eon to become Skylanders Sensei.

Trivia: Ember from the classic series shares the same name as the Fire Sentinel Sensei Ember, just like Buzz *the Mabu and bounty hunter* shares the same name as the villain from Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon, Otoro *from Spyro's Adventure* sharing the same name as the Gurglefin look-alike from Giants, Rocky *Of Rocky Roll* sharing the same name as the Molkin NPC from Trap Team and a stone golem from the Mask of Power series' Terrafin Battles the Boom Brothers, and Puck the Watch Wraith *From SuperChargers* sharing his name with Professor Puck from the same book.

In the Fantastic Fairy Fair, Kaos posed as a fortune teller and managed to cause trouble for Gurglefin with one of his fortunes. The evil Portal Master soon revealed himself when his troll army and Sweet-O-Tron managed to capture Rocky, a Stone Golem who was believed to be the Earth segment to the Mask of Power. Kaos was able to escape with Rocky to the Explosive Emporium, but the Skylanders, Terrafin, Sonic Boom, Hot Dog and Sprocket were able to track him down. However they fell into a trap made by Kaos and the Boom Brothers, who were working with the evil Portal Master.

In Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure, after saving Cali from a group of evil Drow, Hugo begins with tasking the Skylanders in recovering the missing Eternal Sources needed to rebuild the Core of Light. Kaos soon becomes aware of the new Portal Master and the Skylanders, attempting to stop them from retrieving the Eternal Sources, but fails. With the help of the new Portal Master, the Skylanders recover the missing Eternal Sources with the help of new allies, including a Gillman named Gurglefin, a newly grown Tree person named Arbo, and a sarcastic Undead skeleton, T-Bone. Eventually, the Core of Light is restored, repelling the Darkness from Skylands and driving Kaos back into the Outlands. Despite their victory, Hugo knew that the fight wasn't over, since Kaos still had the very weapon that he used to destroy Core of Light and knew that the tyrant would do the same again. The decision was made to take the battle to Kaos in his lair. Using the Core of Light, the Skylanders were transported to the Lair of Kaos where the enemies they faced before lurked before confronting Kaos himself face-to-face.

In Return of the Dragon King, Captain Frigthtbeard somehow managed to once again escape the Chest of Exile and recruited a group of Cyclops Pirates as his crew. He and his pirates were terrorizing a river in an unknown part of Skylands where they would ambush any unfortunate ships with the use of a Spell Punk's magic to go undetected. Eventually Frightbeard heard a rumor of a ship holding gold and attacked the vessel Gurglefin, Cali and Flynn were on while enroute to the Wilikin Village to deliver toys. While his crew searched the ship, they unlocked a trap door where the Skylanders, Spyro, Jet-Vac, Wallop, Spy Rise and Weeruptor sprang out from. Undeterred by the surprise attack, Frightbeard ordered his crew to attack the Skylanders.
