-it's really sad how at the end of the day, no matter what happened in the past, no matter who they really are, yuu and mika are just so out of their depth with all of these grand schemes. emotionally, information-wise, even power-wise (or at least the power that they're aware of having).

-i'm cheering that yuu finally stands up to guren, but it's kinda funny seeing them 'HRAAAAA'-ing so passionately when i'm sure soon they'll be buddies again and the only one left to fret in distress and harbor grudges will be mika dearest.

-guren and yuu are so similar, aren't they. both incredibly strong and oh so weak, both with strong views in the things that matter to them, both having their favorite person as their demon, and another very important person in that equation (shinoa-shinya). but they're also so different, in how they perceive things, how they react to things, who they want to be in the world.

-yuu can give family guy dom toretto a real run for his money

-seven sinful keys and the lives of all vampires in exchange for mika's resurrection. what does the sinful keys part mean for yuu? that poor seraph guy is still alive without it, right?

I was wondering what do you think of characters like guren shinoa mika & krul? I really liked them back then but now I'm really disappointed with how author wrote them since past few years & weirdly fandom still tries to act as if nothing wrong with them but "people didn't read correctly"

i'm sorry that so many others seem to be suffering the same way i am, but it's also a little reassuring. at least we're not alone in our misery.

and i think answering your question will be quite fun!

well guren, obviously i love guren. he's so sad and pathetic and tired and broken he's like a wet cat. the way he loves, the way he does terrible things and hates himself for it but does it anyway because he knows he has no other choice, it's so intriguing and painful. i love it. there's aspects that bother me when reading the novels, like when i cannot for the life of me grasp why he is doing what he's doing, or when he's being an arrogant asshole. but then i read the paragraphs my friends have written about him and love him with my whole heart again. i think they called it blorbo-in-law, that fits it quite well.

but i feel like i need to mention, i totally get why people got so mad with him recently. the way it was handled with the kids just immediately forgiving him again after one word was just... not good. i wasn't kidding when i said i wanted him to be more evil. it was a lot more exciting when him and mahiru first started that "let's betray everyone" stizzle and we weren't sure if he was actually going to harm anyone. it was serious, oh the suspense! now he's just our friend guren again. let him go batshit insane. please. he's not a saint, and he doesn't need to be.

at this point the only one i can trust to truly judge and be mad at him for more than half a panel is shinya. and that's a little odd. also he's currently in eeby deeby.

ohh shinoa! i used to like her a lot. it's only natural, i guess, since she is so similar to shinya. i always thought her to be a less extreme version of him - shinoa was also trained to be numb and hide herself behind jokes and smiles, but she seems to retain more of her emotions than he does. she's scared of dying, she's not much of a killing machine, and she is very much capable of developing actual romantic feelings for someone. wow, shinoa!

now, the problem is the toxic view of love that mahiru drilled into her head, and how the story will adress that, if at all. i don't mind her crush on yuu, it's her proof of not being dead inside or worthless or meant to be alone. but the way she acts on it is quite selfish. she's taking after her sister a little too much for my liking lately. "i will get yuu back, even if i have to kill mikaela to do it", alright miss mini mahiru. chill.

i would very much like someone to drill some sense into her head.

as for mika, he was my favourite for quite some time. i'm afraid i can't speak on him anymore, though, since he's kinda wiggled himself out of my field of interest. younger me would be going insane over his angel self... but now, i actually don't have anything to say about him. he exists. he's a massive scapegoat. i wish we could have seen him bond with shinoa squad.

krul is great solely because she's somehow the only female character who doesn't have a crush on some guy. hooray for vampirism! i don't have that many thoughts on her either, but i do adore her. she treated mika fairly well, she acted against vampire laws, she was more trustworthy than others. and god, that chapter where she was turned into a vampire was so awful, i loved it. more of an ashera-perspective probably, but still! as i've mentioned, i'm not a fan of her and all the black demons having been angels before, so i can't bring myself to look forward to their reunion as much as i used to. but i'd still like to see it.

Guren:

Black cat tabaxi Druid who made a deal with a demon. That was not an accident, he repeatedly will clarify this if asked. Chaotic neutral

Ceylan:

The most boring suit wearing human barbarian you will ever meet, lawful good. Ceylan is also the DM, so the character is both ironic and low maintenance for a reason

Toxsa:

Lizardfolk outlander ranger raised by squirrels, true neutral, good with anything and resourceful

Chooki:

Bugbear bard who half the time has no idea what the fuck is happening, gets lots of bitches, chaotic neutral (Chooki is Ace/Aro for context on the getting bitches thing)

Gen:

White Dragonborn Paladin who’s made an oath to bring Guren’s tabaxi character back to the light of righteousness. Lawful good-and obviously his characters oath was one made out of loving devotion towards Guren’s character.

Beni:

Black Dragonborn rogue who dips in and out of the party whenever she feels like it, specializes in all kinds of poisons and venoms, a flighty chaotic good. The moment her character is out of resources she dips out and returns at a later part in the campaign to help

Additional Tidbits;

Every. Single. Party member has punched themselves in the face AT LEAST twice from Guren’s character casting Suggestion on them at random intervals just for the lols

Guren’s character has killed a shocking amount of NPC’s-only a few of those weren’t accidental. Since he made good on his bargain with his patron his dark powers are EXTREMELY potent, and he does cat things. Most of the party follows his characters lead because he’s charismatic and they find his antics funny. Guren’s character is also fucking tiny, maybe a few inches shorter than the average goblin, so there’s a little cat man running around with more murders under his belt than even the most accomplished assassin

Ceylan’s character is chronically depressed, and on random occasion he will roll at disadvantage without a reason. He makes up for this in a high damage modifier and the freedom one feels from killing a terrible employer

Toxsa’s character is a god of foraging and anything to do with survival. He sees a particularly cool tree, he climbs it. Guren’s character tells him to attack a random Kenku? He does it without Guren having to cast Suggestion. He’s literally down to do anything at any time. ANYTHING

Chooki’s character almost never has any clue what’s happening outside of combat unless it’s singing and sexing. He’s a gifted bard, and makes most of the parties legitimate money by doing shows at every tavern they stop at. He also casually fucks half the taverns staff before they leave because his charisma stat is through the roof and his airheadedness is somehow VERY desirable to most of the general public. The sex itself is never described, it is purely a comedic running gag.

Gen’s character is the only one who has a logical brain. He’s very driven by devotion, and this devotion turns on him when Guren’s character makes any request of him, as that cats silver tongue is his greatest weakness. Said cat could make him full on renounce his god with no magic required, but doesn’t because there IS some reciprocation between them, and Guren respects his faith

Beni’s character is a mercenary Guren’s character hired some years back that took a liking to the group. She shows up when she has free time to be helpful, but has obligations outside the parties objectives she must tend to. She can always find them because she and Guren’s charecter struck a pact after her employment under him was dissolved

if they were an animal (domestic animal), mika would be one of those grumpy, fluffy ass cats, with the prettiest blue eyes you’ve ever seen, and the most iconic resting bitch face you'll ever face, dropping things on purpose if you’re either not giving him enough attetion or if he doesn’t like you (he does that a lot to guren and ferid)

yuu would be one of those bigger black pinschers with slight anger issues, but nice to some people, and has a soft spot for his friends and family

main: diluc. hear me out, okay. generally, u main based on playstyle, right? (i mean. i don't, but. the consensus seems to be that i am strange for that lmao.) i think that yuu would put a LOT of stress on doing high physical damage, n a lot of people recommend diluc for that. he's ranked pretty high tier, he looks cool, he has a big sword, n he's pretty standard for a dps. also, i feel like yuu is a LOUD player n screaming along with diluc's attack voice lines would be therapeutic for him. i also think the fact that diluc mains drain their hp incredibly fast bc of how reckless they are (yes i am talking about myself too) is very in character for him.

favorite character: also diluc. HEAR ME OUT. i think he would be really taken with the whole darknight hero thing. yuu is also a very protective person n puts a lot of stock in the safety of what he cares about n i feel like he would just find diluc very cool for that.

aesthetically appealing: razor. source: trust me bro.

main: XIAO. i cannot stress this one enough n i will not budge. i can't really tell u why exactly i think he would enjoy polearm users, but the idea of self inflicted damage is very much a vampire weapon choice (thorn sword, yk) n i cannot believe how fitting it is. which leads right into the next category, actually.

favorite character: also xiao. both mika n yuu strike me as the types to main their favorite characters (i am not just saying this bc i relate to mika n i do that what do u MEAN) n not only do i think mika would relate to xiao, but i also think he would find the lore n the roles of the adepti REALLY interesting.

aesthetically appealing: i'm torn on this one bc i want to say albedo. all his outfit details, his color scheme, his hair, his EYES. all of it just screams mika to me. HOWEVER rosaria also strikes me as a design mika would really like.

main: torn for this one. on the one hand, i think she would have an incredible dps beidou that does FAR more damage than poor yuu's diluc n she refuses to give him her build. on the other hand, i think she would also be the type of person to absolutely SHRED domains with a dps barbara. overall she definitely has the best builds of the team, n is really good at team composition.

favorite character: mona! mona says what she thinks, n shinoa would LOVE that. i think she'd admire her pride n determination n that would really inspire her.

aesthetic appealing: keqing! she would love her colors (specifically the purple) n i think she'd find the cat ears really cute. keqing is also a really lovely character n i think she'd have a crush on her.

main: childe. look at this man. LOOK at him. u CANNOT tell me he does not give off obnoxious childe main energy. he fights the oceanid with childe bc he thinks he's invincible. he goes into domains with the wrong level just to mess with people. he's genuinely GOOD though, so it's hard for the team to be too upset.

favorite character: baizhu bc they're both suspicious zhongli. guren has a crush on peepaw pass it on. no i'm kidding (no i'm not) but they both have that "weird n intense methods of testing strength that are definitely questionable but they do still care" kind of thing going on.

aesthetically appealing: kaeya. i don't actually know where i'm getting this from i just had a vague thought that kaeya kind of gives me a similar vibe to shinya n i was like "yes okay this makes sense."

main: sucrose! absolutely god tier support over here. he definitely did a ton of research on how to build her. u see him in a domain n ur like "oh thank god." he also has an extra set of artifacts n weapons aside for her bc he wanted to be prepared, so he plays her as a support or a dps depending on the needs of the party. he likes to have options.

favorite character: jean. hear me out, i think he'd really admire her. she works SO hard n she cares SO much about mondstadt n yoichi would find a lot of comfort in that. also he's a feminist.

aesthetically appealing: venti. between the bow n just how BEAUTIFUL his clothes are, yoichi would be smitten.

main: rosaria. he would love polearms n that is a fact. he definitely pulled on the recent childe banner rerun to get her n ended up with childe by accident, which guren was very upset about bc he was pulling for childe constellations. he builds up her crit like CRAZY n as much as him n yuu don't want to admit it, they work really well together in domains.

favorite character: qiqi. the big brother instinct. he does not trust baizhu. i think she reminds him of mirai in a way, too.

aesthetically appealing: chongyun. again. source: trust me bro.

main: hu tao. her n mika are NIGHTMARES in domains bc of their self-damaging skills, but unlike mika, mitsuba is actually really careful with it, n makes sure she builds up hu tao's hp so she doesn't inconvenience her team.

favorite character: diona. they both have very similar vibes, mitsuba would find her adorable. she would also argue to the DEATH with anyone online who was being creepy about her/the other young characters.

aesthetically appealing: ningguang. she has a massive crush on her.

main: lisa. ranged attacks, wide ranges of effect, really cool burst/ult, n can cause some of the best reactions with her element. he outlasts almost anyone else in domains bc he seems to never take any damage.

favorite character: dainsleif. he wants him to get a release so bad.

aesthetically appealing: xiao. he loves the colors.

main: keqing. she is a huge fan of the whole teleporting thing. her elemental damage is nuts. she had the best sword on her so soon after she started the game that everyone's heads were spinning. she RAGES when she loses, though, n doesn't like teamwork/prefers to carry.

favorite character: lumine, but only if aether was picked as a protagonist. she likes the idea of lumine being the villain.

aesthetically appealing: fischl. do i really have to elaborate on this one.

main: xiao, to piss off mika i actually cannot think of a good enough example for just one character. i feel like he plays for fun n not for consistency of builds, so he just switches between characters to support that. i can see him playing support n not healing his team on purpose bc he thinks it's funny, though.

favorite character: signora. he laughed his ASS off when she punted venti.

aesthetically appealing: xingqiu, probably. with those frilly sleeves.

“How They comfort you”(Owari No seraph)

Back with some more Owari no seraph, Fluff is practically what’s on my preference list. I’m just have a lot of things I want to write and have them completed in my drafts or in my queue. Please be patient I’m getting to you requests.

He’s not good at it honestly, he just expects you to teach him so he can learn. Yes, this is his first relationship so of course, he’s going to have to learn how to also being caring. You have to give him credit for at least trying though.

Comforting also varies on his mood. If he’s not really in the mood to comfort you, let alone himself, he won’t bother you at all. But if he’s in the normal mood? He’ll comfort you in his weird way, like I said he’s had no one before you so his actions may come off as weird.

Would typically glare at you to indicate that he’s not in the mood. He does it to most vampires best way to get his point across. Although, he doesn’t mean to be mean or rude to you. He’s just not in the mood for those types of things right now.

Cuddling is another way of comfort for him..more like hugging. Well, you called it cuddling but all your actually doing is hugging. Hah, do you not know what hugging is? Well, Mikaela — Couples call it cuddling.

How does she say this? Eh, no. She’s not really good at comforting she’s really blunt and straightforward so she’ll come off as hurtful or mean. So no she’s not really good at the comforting thing. But she’ll tone it down a bit if she realizes it’s affecting you taht bad. She doesn’t really want to hurt your feelings so don’t take it the wrong way.

Well, you can watch her hunt or you can spend the day in bed together. If that makes you feel any better, other than that she’s probably not up for suggestions. You can spend the day with her or not. That’s all.

Cuddling? She can do it but it’s usually with her being fidgety. It’s really hard for her to stay still if you're the big spoon or if she’s the big spoon. Either way, she’s so fidgety during cuddles it may annoy you. Unless you're in it for something else then she’s down.

Pretty mean about it, you want his attention. Poor baby. You’ll have to wait. He’ll put you on hold, just to “read” a book. It’s just his way of teasing you and making you way more needy for his attention than you’ll ever be. You’ll probably get angry or stop away or you’ll beg.

His comforting is more like playing with you because you want his attention right? you’ll have to earn it. He’ll make you madder than you probably already are but you’ll still get all your comfort at the end of the day.

He’ll cuddle or just do anything that interests him. But you wonder how he’s still so loving under all that teasing. You Will probably read a book or just stare out the window while you cuddle. Like I said, anything that interests Crowley. Real encourager too, he’ll ask you what you want to do. And if you say anything that mentions food — he’ll groan.

Very Selective on where he’s touching, any place he wants to touch. He’ll touch ok. Cuddles can lead to something way different tonight—

Ferid Bathory: Comforting here

Probably the best out of the bunch, he’s not awkward about it nor will he make you wait long for him. Best way to go right here. You can watch a movie — any movie that makes you feel way better about the situation.

The comforting part is just part of it;)

He’s so much more open to just downright snuggling into you. It just makes him seem like a cat. He just wants snuggles, it’s comforting for him and it can be the same for you. Shinya is just so nice with relaxing and comforting it’s amazing.

Lacus is better at just staying quiet during comforting because he’ll probably say something that makes it seem like he doesn’t care. So he’ll usually stay quiet about the situation or if you need comfort. This can be a little misleading if you're relying on his reply.

He’s better at the affection part than the answering part. Though, he can be a bit moody at times. Not wanting a hug but you want a hug. Just hug him from behind he won’t object.

Snuggling? Now that he can do. If he can go to sleep and it makes you feel happier he’s all for it. Pillow talking too, that’s probably most of the times he’ll baby talk you in to do something together. Or taking your mind off of the situation. Coax him into a small cuddle session and he’ll take it — no objects.

Comforting with Yuu is more like just talking to a kid in general. Trust me, he understands the situation but just doesn’t quite know how to respond. Which can be frustrating to some people.

Although, he’s super concentrated on making you happy or make you at least feel better. If you are insecure about anything — he’ll just be so CUTE about your insecurity. Seriously though I can see him being so good with cuddling.

OnS Theories (18S). Fifth Theory - Mahiru and Mika’s Sword. The mystery of pocket Mahiru

Hello everyone, the latest chapter was released yesterday and here I shall bring forward more theories of what could happen, explanations of some events and the sort. I hope you’re staying safe and sound dear readers!

P.S: Theories are held within a neutral view and ships are excluded

I’m aware the title is quite a pun, or a terrible...sorry I’m not good for them but well, one of the mysteries that has been coming over is the fact that Mahiru has been pulling items out of nowhere:

Such events lead to one big question, how does Mahiru manage to do such thing if she became a demon long ago?

The answer to this is actually easy, and it relates to the process on which she used to become a “special demon”:

And you dear readers might wonder what it has to do with her making items appear out of nowhere such as this as well:

For that, let’s retake some events that occured in the Catastrophe LNs and future release in manga format. 

Back when the chase of the cat and the mouse between Guren and Mahiru was over, and after the most painful incident in the LNs occured, Mahiru stabbed herself with Noya, which was Guren’s cursed gear. But, instead of slowly dying by the weapon, she got absorbed within the sword.

After that, Noya’s voice was no longer heard, leaving Guren all alone, such doubt was finally answer in the panel of chapter 101 on which Mahiru states she used a “spell to turn into a demon instead of being created the normal way”.

Giving an idea that such spell allowed her to keep control of herself along her memories. But, at the end, what does this have to do with how she manages to keep items and even Mika’s sword within her and release it at will?

For that, let’s take chapter 82 as a perfect example of the explanation:

In said chapter, back when Guren aimed to gain strength to face down the First Progenitor, Mahiru released the restrains that kept Noya at bay, hence why his hand literally ripped from her abdomen, but then again, the question prevails, how?

Thanks to the spell she settled down to become a demon, she didn’t have to go through the process of unleashing a Death Wail, instead, she went inside Noya and sealed him inside her so Guren wouldn’t get tortured by him, instead, just as the World Resurrection LNs stated, she was the one that started to appear in front of him like a ghost, but, at the same time, this was also the key point that would allow her to harbor down items within her, what do I mean?

Thanks to said spell, Mahiru was able to keep down items from the real world despite no one being able to see her in order to prepare for the adversity that would come in future years which are the current events that are happening within the manga story, which would explain how she managed to bring a special drug to get time to get Mika with Yu.

As for Mika’s sword, it’s likely that, thanks to the spell she used to become a demon along how she kept Noya trapped and released her for the needs Guren required to face the First; it’s likely she used such method in order to keep Mika’s sword inside her, but, would such sword run any danger?

No. And this is due to the fact that the sword alone didn’t harbor any power along the fact that Noya was K.O for an unknown amount of time.

Whenever a character in naruto dies (or I feel like it) I simply pretend they have retired

Yamato, itachi, kakashi, and gai have a nice little farm/orchard,

but gai and kakashi are basically always going on their "2nd" honeymoon

so itachi ends up making kisame move in too so he can help out.

Guren and yukimaru are also there, running a flower stand to get a lil extra income.

Kimimaro visits and buys all of their flowers very often.

He runs a very lucrative "ivory" business bc no one knows it's him ivory. He just grows bone flowers and people pay a lot of money for it for some reason

He also sells tools and local craftsmen love him bc they're very high quality

He doesn't kill people anymore

He did reunite with orochimaru for a minute and was praised it was very heartwarming

Jiraiya runs a hot springs just a town over but comes to pick kakashis brain every so often

Asuma is the only one who can fix the damned tractor so he and kurenai come once a month or so

It's very educational for their kids

Yamato holds a haunted house every year for Halloween

It's very popular

Kakashi isn't allowed to help anymore bc he tased someone with his chidori and they got sued

Shikaku and inoichi run a lil dojo with hanzo and mifune. Well, it's actually three rival dojos but there are only like three students and also only one good spot to spar bc sasuke breaks stuff

Minato and Kushina are just being great grandparents somewhere bc even though they got brought back by the edo tensei they just wanna be a part of a big family of dumbasses

It is occasionally weird though once naruto starts looking older than they are. Or that one time minato tried to make a new Jutsu and blew himself up

The ninten love the farm it's very big and sometimes they get to pop out of nowhere and give people heart attacks

Pakkun has decided he is not a farm dog and likes to stay near the house when he's there

He might live there 24/7 no one's sure

Fuu and naruto make all the jinchuriki get together every so often it's very awkward but nice

Fuu, naruto, and gaara get along best though- they are good friends

Shikamaru likes to come and pick apples with choji when they can

Jugo and suigetsu run a little fish nursery and kisame helps them out when the farm gets too crowded

Hey, it’s me! The main thing I appreciate about this release is Mika having his blue eyes back in the cover art. Deserved considering he had to give up the thigh high boots for his new cat boy look lmao. On another note, I can’t believe we spent this whole chapter on Guren and Yu fighting and getting absolutely 0 new information. Does Kagami himself even know what the “grand plan” is? 🤨 I’m so tired of having any answers put off that I can barely bring myself to care who wins this battle. I kinda feel that any character development coming from Yu confronting Guren isn’t even worth it at this point. I just want the fight to be over so we can move forward; and if it goes on through the next chp. without Guren explaining himself, I will maybe completely and utterly lose it 🙃 I’m lowkey at a loss for complimentary commentary rn bc I feel like we got nothing 😐🤦🏽‍♀️

That's fair. I often get a bit annoyed with the seeming lack of progress too, and it did feel like there wasn't a ton that happened this chapter, but honestly, I felt like this chapter was decent progression? Guren was never going to give answers easily. He's been hiding things for nearly a decade. It'd make sense that things would finally come to a head this way. Really, this isn't even the first time that trying to get info out of Guren has resulted in a fight.

I think this also makes for a good opportunity to see how Yu's grown power-wise since while we saw it a bit with the First, it wasn't the best gauge. Plus there's possible Yu development as you said.

What you're saying really is fair though. If we don't start getting answers (I really don't imagine that we'll get them all of them) next chapter then it's probably time to start rioting.

So... quarantine and everything else has been messing with my headspace a little, plus I’ve been a little busier with work and life stuff than the usual, so I haven’t been entirely in the right place to be creative lately. I’m taking my time and not stressing about it or anything, and I have no plans to go on any kind of extended hiatus (so no worries there!), but I have wanted to share something with you guys lately, so...

I threw together some playlists! Just some songs that make me think of certain skeletons, whether it’s the lyrics, the genre, or just the General Vibe-- and to make it interesting, I’m only going to allow myself to make excuses for one song on each list and the rest, I’ll just have to let you judge me for. XD

Note: A few of the songs on these lists have some suggestive language and the occasional curse word for those that need a warning for that sort of thing-- and in fact, feel free to tell me if I included a censored version of any songs on accident, I’ll try to fix that ASAP--but hopefully nothing too shocking or explicit.

Papyrus (Undertale): Spaghetti Cat by Parry Gripp... I... I have no excuse, I just think he would be supportive of a cat who wanted to eat spaghetti.

Jasper (Underfell Sans): I cannot even begin to articulate why Full Moon by Sunmi reads as his vibe/sound to me, it just does and I have made the mental association, it is too late to unmake it.

Pyre (Underfell Papyrus): Interlude IV by Zach Callison... He has the range, that’s all I can say.

Mal (Swapfell Sans): Dark Horse by Katy Perry. Listen, he’s my boy, I know what he’s about, it’s a valid choice and I stick by it!

Rus (Swapfell Papyrus): I actually don’t feel like there’s anything I need to make an excuse for on this one, so I’ll just bump Crystalline by The Midnight, it’s a great song lol

Slate (Horrortale Sans): The Other Side of Paradise by Glass Animals is also almost 100% on there for the vibe/sound, but that vibe/sound is just right so on it stays.

Papy (Horrortale Papyrus): I first heard Always by Erasure in the context of that Robot Unicorn Attack game, if anybody remembers that; as if half of my song choices in these aren’t already showing my age lmao

Ash (Undergloom Sans): The Call Me Maybe cover by Ben Howard is good, actually, it’s a legit jam and I’m not sorry for it.

Yrus (Undergloom Papyrus): The Great Pretender by the Jon Frederik Band... yes, it (and a few of Classic Papyrus’ songs) came from a Yugioh soundtrack, we don’t need to talk about that, it’s fine.

Brick (Horrorfell Sans): Gingerbread Man by Melanie Martinez doesn’t 100% fit his vibe, but it’s another one I’ve made a mental association with and it’s not going away, so... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 

King (Horrorfell Papyrus): Guren (Hip Hop Remix) by Dirty Kid... I swear I’m only a little bit of a weeb, I never finished Naruto, call it an homage to HF!Undyne! 😂

Custom Toonami Block Week 79 Rundown

Code Geass: Lelouch is establishing the official United States of Fuck Imperialism which is like the UN but actually does stuff, plus he has to deal with the fact that CC’s lost her memory and is acting like a demure slave girl harem choice from a VN. Charles is still trapped in the Human Instrumentality Shadow Realm so everyone figures this is a great time to unify everyone against Britannia. Kallen beats the shit out of Suzaku for being a dick to her all this time and the Knight of Ten is making his rounds because they realize they forgot to give him any buildup and he’s going to be a miniboss later so they have to cram all his being a dick personality into like five minutes while all the Knights of the Round assemble to prepare for an attack on Japan once the National Federation is formed. Llyod and Cecile for some reason enhanced the Guren for Suzaku even though he’s clearly more used to the Lancelot but apparently they enhanced it too much and made it a death machine like the Talgeese in Gundam Wing so Suzaku has to stick with the Lancelot. Looks like the Guren will have to sit and collect dust unless a certain pilot is rescued and then immediately has a convenient upgrade. Amazingly all the countries go along with everything Zero says and give up their militaries and have the Black Knights be the official military of the Federation. I don’t know how that works given that the Black Knights have been struggling to fight off one nation’s military idk how it’s supposed to substitute for a dozen nations’ military but I guess they conscript support and troops from the other nations or something. Charles comes back on the tv after the Federation is formed and is all “Awww what a cute little UN you have, fuck off bro.” which you’d think this’d be the perfect time for him to just out Lelouch as Zero and wreck the Black Knights’ morale but he doesn’t for some reason and they’re just gonna fight. Lelouch is freaking out and knows that having everyone want to murder the Britannian royal family includes Nunally so he calls Suzaku who just straight up goes “Bro cut the crap are you Zero or not?” and after so much plotting and scheming Lelouch just comes right out with it. Suzaki agrees to protect Nunally as long as Lelouch meets him alone at the Kururugi Shrine where this all began.

Inuyasha: This is another one of those Modern Day filler episodes which are always fun. There’s just something about Inuyasha running around in modern Japan being Spider-Man and saving people and catching bank robbers on the way to deliver Kagome’s lunch that’s so thoroughly entertaining. Basically Inuyasha spends this whole episode jittery that everyone’s so chill and ready to relax after Naraku just got away and is probably an inch from death but after a big adventure in the modern era where Kagome is as usual unprepared for her test, he ends up passing out on the bed after insisting a little battle with Naraku wouldn’t exhaust him. It’s a really cute little episode to let everyone bide some time and reflect on the past arc now that we’re starting a new wave of filler before we get to the Band of Seven and Mt. Hakurei stuff.

Yu Yu Hakusho: The first match of the tournament is about to begin and Botan, Shizuru, and Keiko come in with Koenma who is sick of baby jokes and puts on his bishonen disguise to impress everyone. There’s some neat lore about how they gave Koenma the guest team every year to bribe him into not shutting down the tournament without giving him anything of value and how the bloody show of the Dark Tournament pacifies the demons so they kill fewer humans, so that’s cool. Since Yusuke is still passed out, Kuwabara is de facto Captain and decides on simple one on one matches while the other team Captain just kinda roasts an eight of the crowd to see if it’ll wake Yusuke up. Kuwabara’s in the first match versus Prototype Killua, complete with afterimages and yo-yo tricks. They size each other up for a while and Kuwabara shrugs off getting his fucking neck broken surprisingly well while they go back and forth with “Well I can track YOU better” for a while. Togashi really loves his yo-yos of death so those have Kuwabara on the ropes and turn him into a fucking kite ready to slam back down into the arena, so yeah, Kuwabara’s having a rough time of it.

Fate Zero: Waver’s been having strange dreams about Iskandar, and not the ones people usually have about him. So he goes to get a basic history lesson on the historical figure that’s been chilling on his couch for a few weeks and spending all his money on xbox live arcade. They also go through all the ridiculously obvious historical inaccuracies and Iskandar’s just like “idk bro, I’m here so the book must be wrong” which is hilarious because Fate also does this with more modern historical figures that we have pictures of and shit so they basically sit there saying all historians have no idea what they’re talking about and gaslighting the field of history as a whole. On the way back Waver’s upset that Iskandar’s so awesome that it basically takes any effort on his part to win and it won’t be an actual achievement despite the fact that they’ve taken out like… one servant, MAYBE, and most of the other historical figures are equally over the top. But still Iskandar says that if your aspirations are big enough it doesn’t matter how big or small you are, everyone’s tiny in the grand scheme of things and clawing at greatness you can’t truly perceive is what matters. Also Caster and his boy have found the wreck they made of their workshop of dead bodies and are kinda fucked up about it but also ready to fuck up more people because God sucks or some shit. So Caster summons a Bloodborne monster which you think more people would notice and mention during Shirou’s time, like nobody in UBW ever said “Hey remember like seven years ago when a giant Bloodborne monster appeared in the river?” so I’m guessing there’s some kind of perception blocking going on. But yeah everyone’s gonna jump on the Bloodborne Monster next time for the season premiere.  

Konosuba: So we pick up where we left off and Kazuma is working off his debt by… killing more toads. Wow this world really is like a video game, we get the same five enemies over and over again. However they’re fucked without Darkness throwing herself into monster orifices looking for a good time so Yunyun has to save them. We already met Yunyun in the OVA so it’s kinda weird to be re-introduced to her here in basically the same way but their relationship is basically like Gai and Kakashi if they only did the lame dorky challenges Kakashi suggested when he’s too lazy to think of a good one. Also there’s a cat now, I don’t think that really comes to anything, just a scene of Megumin going “we have a cat now” and everyone’s like “kay”. Kazuma and Megumin play Naked Chicken to see who can get more naked before the other backs down and end up taking a bath together because they’re both stubborn assholes. Also we get a quick snippet of Yunyun and Megumin’s backstories which you can basically make Yunyun’s the swing scene from Naruto (idk why Yunyun is bring out the Naruto references in me today) and Megumin is stealing bread like Les Miserables in increasingly bizarre and disgusting ways because she’s ridiculously poor or some shit.

Sailor Moon Crystal: So turns out that Usagi and Mamoru BOTH had their shots with the ‘fucks everything up’ sword with a pocketwatch and… the discarded gems of the four knights? Idk how that works given they were humans and also dead but what baffles me more is that both Usagi and Mamoru very obviously did not get hit by the sword but decided to fall down dead and not move for a couple minutes despite their shots very much being blocked and there being no blood. Anyway Queen Metalia has the crystal, bullshit is happening, 1000 years of darkness, you’ve seen Xiaolin Showdown, you know the drill. The remaining four Guardians get a cute little flashback of Usagi saying what she likes about them and then they give up their lives to revive her inside the dark energy blob of Queen Metalia and crystals and lights and shit happens and swords and wands are pulled out of nowhere and you know how a final boss goes, they beat it with the power of believing in themselves and shit like that. Also apparently the only difference between sealing Metalia away and killing her is hitting the giant bullseye on her forehead so yeah, hopefully she’s down for good this time. I don’t want to complain because this show was genre-defining but it’s hard to find things to say about something so generic and milktoast, it’s the Seinfeld problem where there’s been so many more interesting iterations that it’s just kinda “get on with it already” at this point. The only real markedly noticeable thing about it is how plainly and unashamedly it is about being a power fantasy for teen girls, and there’s something to that, harmless power fantasies can be fun but it just feels like the physical mechanics of this kind of progression being “She feels this shit REALLY HARD” is less exciting than some of the alternatives

Durarara!!: It’s the big Masaomi backstory episode and we get the whole deal of how he formed the Yellow Scarves and got into a relationship with Saki because Izaya wanted to orechestrate a gang war because that’s what Izaya does all day is orchestrate gang wars. It’s kind of amazing how many kids in this show are like “I don’t know how it happened but one thing led to another and suddenly I was at the head of one of the largest gangs in the city” like they kinda really yadda yadda over how that actually happens. But anyway Saki gets hurt in the gang war and Kadota’s gang has to save her because Masaomi’s adrenaline wears off at the last second and he can’t try and rush in and save her. I mean Dota’s van got there first anyway so how much he’d have been able to help would be doubtful but he feels bad about not even being able to try and Izaya says that fear and failure of his past will dominate his future actions which is exactly what he’s doing by letting his paranoia and frustration lead him to a war on the Saika army. Dota-chin tells him to face up to it and stop running or live with the shame of lying to Saki but Masomi can’t do that and his shame and determination to reverse the situation leads everyone into chaos as Anri discovers his secret.
