Delving into the White Rann of Kutch— Gujarat’s significant epicentre
The Rann of Kachchh is thought to be the world's largest salt desert and is well-known for its white, salted desert sand. The Hindi term "Rann" (which means "desert") comes from the Sanskrit word "Irina," which also means "desert."

Hey Vivi! I'll talk about my task force, this time!
Task Force Shatrujeet 💀🗡️
Tumblr media
Col. Shaurya Kulshrestha
Shaurya found the task force named "Shatrujeet", which in translation means "winning against the enemy". The ideology of making this task force was to collect a group of commandos who have the full potential, ability and capability to deal with complex special operations, and protect the country from foreign threats.
The Colonel was Arjun's guide and mentor throughout his journey, before the responsibility of leading the task force landed on the Captain, making Shaurya confident that now he's independent and knows what to do.
Shaurya is part of the Mavericks, a secret division of the Indian Army, where elite soldiers are interlinked with the intelligence agencies.
The Colonel never actually mentioned if he was married or not. Some say that he never did, and some say he was divorced under some conditions. But, it's never proven, nor confirmed.
The Colonel had an old contact with General Shepherd, that paved the way for Arjun to join the Task Force 141.
Tumblr media
Capt. Arjun K. Dhingra
Arjun has a locket of his wife's picture and keeps it safe in his drawer. It motivates him into believing his wife's presence was always there. He also has Lakshya's fountain pen, the pen he used to write poems in his diary, as a memory.
The Captain has taken part in many crucial special operations, for his accurate strategic planning and leadership. The 9 PARA SF has always considered Arjun more reliable for going on missions, something which also irked the interest of General Shepherd that made him become a part of the 141.
Arjun's nature towards his commandos is kind of mixed. He sometimes shows concern, and kindness, but at the same time he's harsh and fierce. The conclusion can be that he wants the best for his commandos, and wants to train them enough so they're capable of handling any sort of tough obstacles.
Arjun has never tried to smile that much, ever since the tragedy. But thanks to Kavya, and the hope of his commandos, he was able to regain that happiness that was lost in his life back.
Arjun knows most regional languages, since the commandos are also trained to learn these languages for covert operations, respectively. He surprised Aditya one time.. by speaking fluent Gujarati.
Tumblr media
Lt. Aditya Tripathi
Aditya had shown to be a comforting presence among everybody, something which also enlightens others from their hard times.
Aditya is also a part-medic! He used to pursue medical studies to become a doctor like his mother, but under such circumstances, it made him join the special forces, and used that very knowledge to treat the wounded.
Aditya makes others happy and especially himself. Because in hard times, he suffers a little when he's not able to save a wounded person's life.
Tumblr media
Lt. Yuvraj Chaudhary
Yuvraj is respectful and generous to everyone, especially women. In his belief, he considers women as "devi" or goddess in translation, and wishes if more women joined the army.
Yuvraj met Aditya during the NDA, and even graduated in the IMA with him together. They've been very close to each other like brothers.
Yuvraj has a signature mark, rolling his moustache when he feels pride within himself, or if anything went successful. More like, saying "flawless".
Yuvraj is a Rajasthani, and he knows the Marwadi language. At times he mocks Aditya by saying something in his regional language, much to Tripathi's disappointment.
Capt. Venkateshwar Subramanian
(still need to find the faceclaim!)
Venkateshwar graduated from the OTA, as an computer engineer, joining the PARA SF and becoming a part of Task Force Shatrujeet.
Venkatesh has shown a lot of interest in technology since he was a young child, and always excelled in the field of computers, that made him a special programmer in the team.
Venkateshwar has close contact with Alyssa Martinez (@alypink), who is also a programmer in the Mexican Special Forces, and they are known to have worked together in a joint operation.

@creophagos ft. Ryuji LOCATION: outside of an abandoned warehouse
Zakir took a deep breath, his throat felt dry after all the talking, his mind bubbling with words and conversations in three different languages. He could do this all day, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t also drown a whole tub of water. He coughed as the cold air hit his lungs and stopped dead short of following Ryuji away from the dingy abandoned packaging building. “That was a long meeting, ya’ani–” he coughed again. “Ya’ani, I could use some water.” He pulled his jacket tightly against him, the persona he’d crafted slowly fading away through the exhaustion. He never could prepare for these things, that wasn’t how the criminals worked. For a job maybe, for a heist perhaps, but for a meeting as a translator. No, he could be called out of his bed at 4am and be expected to give his full attention to the matter at hand. If he couldn’t discern Hindi from Gujarati, he might as well not show up.
Even as a polyglot, languages could get tiring. His only saviour in these situations was that he wasn’t a soldier, he wasn’t a petty criminal, he was far more valuable than them, he couldn’t so easily be replaced. “I forgot to bring a bottle.”

What was the book you said Tessa Bailey wrote good Indian rep? Was it Heat Stroke?
No, but same series. It's called Sink or Swim, and @jeanvanjer made me a wholehearted convert. The heroine, Jiya, is Indian American (Gujarati, specifically), and honestly, there's a lot Tessa Bailey did right, which I appreciate.
First, the sex stuff. Jiya isn't the *submissive Asian woman* trope, and she articulates her wants and desires, and Andrew is DOWN for that. There is literally a scene where he spends half a day with a hard-on doing housework stuff for her, all while she watches in a tiny sundress. By the end of that scene she's stripping and he's hammering photos to the wall in her bedroom and when he cracks it's GREAT. I wouldn't say he's submissive but he's very service-oriented if that makes sense. But yeah, I do appreciate that this is the sexual dynamic Tessa gave us for this particular couple.
Family dynamic-wise, Jiya's parents do want her to have an arranged marriage. And Tessa did a pretty damn good job of showing how modern arranged marriages are arranged- basically, both families meet, and then you go out with the person to get a feel for them. It's similar to regular dating but the end-goal for both parties is very much marriage, and it's on a shortened time frame. That's what happens in the book with Jiya and another guy, and of course Andrew is horribly jealous and Jiya is deeply conflicted.
But Jiya's parents aren't unreasonable. Like, I think that's the trap a lot of writers writing non-western cultures fall into; specifically that it's the elders' way or the highway. Are they suuuuuuper excited about Jiya and Andrew? Not at first, but after he talks to them about how much he loves her and will always be there for her, they come around.

My mother reacts to Maja Ma
tw: homophobia
So she was recently talking about how she met up with her Gujarati friend and how that friends had watched Maja Ma that new movie with Madhuri Dixit....
She said “how can people show such things, people will begin thinking it’s normal.”
While as long as I live in her house i can never tell it to her face, today on tumblr i will say for every single homophobic person out there, there should be someone who says “Any form of attraction or lack thereof is normal. Everyone is different, and that is never a bad thing. No matter what happens, you are still the same person I knew before.”
Hope I could be that person for someone today.

background.
krishna was born and raised in queens, new york. they were their parents only child before the two of them divorced when krishna was just three years old. they grew up going between their parents' homes in queens, something that was a struggle for them. they hated being from a broken home, although from a young age, they realized that their parents were better apart than they were together. both of their parents ended up remarrying by the time that they were seven, and they have a decent relationship with both of their stepparents.
they do have a younger half sibling from one of their parents' new marriages, and they have a close relationship with one another. they always wanted to be an older sibling, and they were happy to have them in their life. (this is a wanted connection for anyone interested! the muse would have to be at least half white or half indian.)
growing up, krishna found a lot of solace in writing and participating in theatre programs. they loved literature, and they loved acting as well. they were the lead in many school and local theatre productions, and as they grew, they built up skills in both acting and writing. by the time they were fifteen, they already made the decision that their future career would involve acting, writing and directing.
after graduating high school, krishna picked up a bunch of different odd jobs, their longest lasting one being a starbucks barista. while working, they attended auditions and sent their work into different production companies and got a few cameo roles here and there until they finally got their big break and was cast in a leading role in a kids' show. it wasn't until a few years into their career that they finally started to get roles that were more 'respectable'.
ever since getting more 'adult' roles, they've pretty much blown up and was catapulted into the public eye - something that they both love and hate. they love getting attention for their hard work and talent, but they hate the fact that their life is under a microscope now.
krishna is a little.. promiscuous. although they like to think of themself as a hopeless romantic. they fall in love pretty easily, and they've gotten their heart broken plenty of times over the years, but that doesn't deter them from finding the love of their life. it's all about trial and error, right? apart from that, they're known to hookup quite a bit, and have built up a little bit of a reputation amongst celebs for sleeping around.
they're an emotional person, and their emotions tend to fluctuate quite a bit. however, they try to keep a lock on their fluctuating emotions as to not rub people the wrong way or ruffle any feathers.

Moreover, no hidden fees and contracts such as those that exist in the cable define this service as a no-risk investment in home entertainment.
4. Regional Content to Target Niche Audiences

I watched kalki and the plot they chose is amazing like actually kalyug hindu dystopia sounds like a delight especially the folklore shit
BUT THE EXECUTION THE DIALOUGES FUVKKKMMKK FUCKIN HELLLL
how can they take such a beautiful wonderful amazingly talented cast and such a gorgeous honey nectar plot AND SERVE FUCKING BULL SHIT
This is why I hate so many bollywood movies because as an avid reader the script makes me want to take a dhakan bhar pani and drown in it
BECAUSE THAT STORYLINE HAS SO MUCH POTENTIAL BUT FUCKKK THE SCRIPT WTF WAS THAT NO ONE TALKS LIKE THAT
While we're at this Im going to talk about shaitaan too,
The original movie was so much better written without all the fucking demon and magic shit , the original plot was on hypnotism and it made so much more sense and all the actors served in the original version the dialogs were so different, i love madhavan but fuvk nooo everything he did and said fell short to the original gujarati actor, the actual sense of fear you feel while watching even just the trailer of the original version cannot be felt throughout the whole hindi adaptation, the girl, she carried that adaption, she had done such a wonderful job in original version even her acting is watered-down in the hindi version, it is so much more tamer, this just shows that the execution the direction the script and especially the impact of original language matters so much in any media, because I'd rather watch anything with subtitles than dubbed version, because you get so much more accuracy in subtitles, a script written in a language never carries over the emotions interpreted in the translation so well, and if you don't understand both languages and culture well whatever translation you make isn't gonna be equally amazing, a dubbing, a remake done while changing the base of a movie is never a good idea, and i feel so fucking sad that no one who hasn't seen vash will ever be able to see it because all its rights were brought off and it got taken off all platforms fuckkkk even the title isn't just translation how do you go from vash to shaitaan idk .... vash was a masterpiece made by such a dedicated cast and director the script was soo good the characters were so well written and all of it is just gone because it was sold for commercialization it sucks I hate it they watered down everything and THEY TOOK AWAY THE REAL MOVIE COMPLETELY
I always go to watch movies and come out so disappointed with the script and execution, and sometimes even the direction is shit because what in the holy shit was soty all parts, and people talk about how some actors especially nepotism ones are shit at acting during thier debut and troll them so much but have they ever thought that maybe sometimes it's the direction at makes them look like shitty actors? Because do you really think alia from soty just suddenly had an epiphany and gave highway, do you really think alia who gave masterpieces like raazi, darlings, dear zindagi, gully boy, gangubai, just had terrible acting and dialogs in bhramastra???
There are soooo many things that make or break the movie and the most 3 important are direction acting and script , you fuck up one it's gone you might earn money but no one is gonna watch it again, I'd rather choke on my foot than watch the boy who played Ajay devgans son in shaitaan call him pops BECAUSE WTF IS WRONG WITH THEM WRITERS NO ONE CALLS THEIR DAD THAT it is blasphemy that's what it is
And why was the villain in kalki giving voldemort?? Why was prabhas giving Ironman? It's like they fit so much in that movie without a head and tail, you need a backstory look at bahubali learn something everything needs a fucking backstory, the way they rushed through bhairavas backstory, they way Deepikas character just drops in out of nowhere, the way kaira and that other girl from rebels just comes in to die immediately you cannot possibly imagine your audience to feel anything about both of thier death because we didn't even get enough time to feel anything for them to even feel thier presence in the movie, those could've been such hit Melo part only if they'd give them time, kalki would've done so much better as a well scripted series that's what i think, because that plot needs time you need for the dust to settle, for your audience to feel grounded with that sort of plot be emotionally connected to know how horrible the world has become how terribly people are killed, you need to give your audience time to get emotional about the characters death, then and only then the movie will stay with them, and what in the fucking bullshit was that song with disha patni and prabhas like it really didn't need a song, it's high time we realize movies don't have to have songs , let the music industry grow on it's own for God's sake let artists make songs they want to make rather than obliging them to make songs that forcefully cater to your movies plot IT LITERALLY DIDNT NEED A SONG, AND IT DIDNT NEED ROMANCE EITHER FOR GODS SAKE PLS PLS MAKE MOVIES WITHOUT ACTUALLY ROMANCE let people suffer in almost ships, let people suffer in if only they were lovers, let people suffer in omg they went through so much together they loved eachother but that's it nothing ever happens, BECAUSE I AM SOOOO SICK OF WATCHINV FORCED COUPLES PLACED INTO MOVIE OF GENRES WHICH ARENT ROMANCE
I've so much more to say but I'll do it some other time..... all this makes me feel like I should actually think about doing book reviews as a job mom said i should try but srsly it feels like if I'm getting paid they ain't gonna let me write what I want to and honestly I'm soooo much of a constructive criticism person , I criticise my own reviews and thoughts over a movie or show so many times before making up my mind on one opinion ahhhhhhhhhhhhh
Maybe I'll start writing reviews about all the movies and shows and animes and books that i watch or read.... God I've so much to say
Why do I've so many opinions on so many things

Linguistic Harmony: Mastering English to Gujarati Translation
The way a language sounds can open up a world of information and understanding. But what do you do when the beat you’re used to meets with another beat? This is where the art of translation comes in, especially for people who speak Gujarati and need to find their way through the huge amount of English knowledge. Learning how to English to Gujarati Translation is more than just replacing words with their equivalents. It’s about making the two languages work together like a symphony.
Unveiling the Significance: Why Flawless English to Gujarati Translation Matters
Gujarati has a lot of past and great writing, so it should be used to help people learn, not get in the way. Why it’s important to do a great job translating from English to Gujarati:
Empowering Education: Imagine a student who is trying to understand difficult science ideas in a language other than their own. A rich trove of educational materials in their native Gujarati can be accessed through flawless translation. This helps kids understand things better, sparks their intellectual interest, and gives them the tools they need to do well in school.
Bridging Cultural Divides: Language shows us what a culture is really like. People who understand Gujarati can enjoy the beauty of English writing, movies, and music thanks to excellent versions. They can enjoy the subtleties of fun and the full range of feelings, and they can learn more about the world around them.
Fueling Economic Growth: Businesses need to be able to talk to each other clearly in today’s international world. Gujarati customers and companies can talk to each other through flawless translation of marketing materials, legal papers, and customer service calls. This encourages people to join the economy, makes the market bigger, and helps the economy grow.
Cultivating Linguistic Harmony: The Cornerstones of Flawless Translation
Learning how to English to Gujarati Translation is a process that takes time and a mix of skills and information. Here are the most important tools that will help you make a good translation:
The Maestro of Languages: The base is a deep knowledge of both English and Gujarati. This means learning the rules of grammar, words, and sentence organization in both languages. Also, knowing regional differences and slang words in Gujarati gives your versions more meaning and credibility.
The Subject Matter Specialist: There are different kinds of versions. For technical papers like medical reports or legal contracts, you need to know a lot about the subject. Knowing about the subject makes sure that the right words are used and that complicated ideas are explained correctly.
The Cultural Conductor: Language is tied to society in a lot of ways. A good translator can pick up on regional differences and makes changes to the text as needed. In Gujarati, jokes that are funny in English might need a different twist, and metaphors or words might need to be changed in creative ways to keep their meaning.
The Detail Detective: As a translator, you need to be able to pay close attention to details. Punctuation, sentence structure, and even font choice can have a big effect on how easy it is to read and understand a translated text.
The Fluency Finisher: The finished piece shouldn’t read exactly like the English source; it should sound like a well-written work of Gujarati writing. Try to keep the original style and flow, but make sure the point is clear to people who speak Gujarati.
Resources to Refine Your Craft: Tools for Aspiring Translators
If you want to become a master at English to Gujarati Translation, you have to keep learning and practicing. Here are some useful tools to help you get better:
Bilingual Dictionaries: Spend money on good multilingual books that have detailed definitions and descriptions that fit the situation.
Translation Memory Tools: You can make technology work for you. Use translation memory tools to save parts that have already been transformed. This will help you be consistent and save you time.
Immerse Yourself in Gujarati: Spend time with the beautiful weave of Gujarati writing. Read newspapers, books, and songs to learn more about the subtleties and artistic differences in the language.
Engage with the Translation Community: Join groups of interpreters both online and off. Talk about problems, share what works best, and learn from the experiences of pros who have been doing this for a long time.
The Ethical Obligation: Ensuring Accuracy in Translation
In a world full of data, precision is very important. A single mistake in a medical record or a formal contract can have huge effects on people’s lives. As a matter of ethics, translators should carefully check their work for truth and sincerity.
The Evolving Symphony: The Future of English to Gujarati Translation
The field of translation is always changing, and new developments in machine translation tools are opening up lots of exciting new opportunities. That being said, the human touch will always be valuable. The future of English to Gujarati Translation is a joint method in which technology helps human translators be even more efficient and make perfect translations.
Conclusion
Learning how to translate from English to Gujarati isn’t just about learning the language; it’s also about making sure that everyone understands each other. By improving your skills, being open to learning new things all the time, and always acting in the most moral way, you can become an important link between countries and give people who speak Gujarati access to the vast information that is out there.

Bhai's going away party
We are in the midst of the second going away party of my life. Bhai is going to America. He is going to SF, where Kanchan has been for the last 6 months. Bhai had been at college with Kanchan, They were great friends even then. They were very close friends right to the end. The same agent - Mr. Sonawala - had been retained for my brother. And the same process had been applied. My brother's friend - Naval, who had become an engineer and had gone to America - had provided the sponsorship.
It is a big party. Bigger because my father has a big family too. 15 cousins - so we had ~50 cousins joining in the festivities for Bhai's going away. In addition, there were ~50 who were from Virpur but not cousins. All day, for days at an end - people would stream in sit for hours at an end and leave. People would sit on the floor, not eating or drinking - just talking. Partying.
One night, we went for a movie. It was my second movie memory - Prem Pujari. The alone-in-a-pack experience of walking on empty streets to catch the last bus. Sometimes the last bus was quite crowded. But as soon as you get off the bus, it is solitary again.
One day, there was the ochav. The mandir was invited to send their musician volunteers to our home to hold a singlng party. The whole virpur community and a big neighborhood community was invited to the singing. People sat shoulder to shoulder on the floor, men and women segregated for maximum density without it being weird. And, they sang religiously themed rousing songs to gujarati musical instruments.
The day of departure is like the wedding day - very busy. All day long, people are dropping by to pay their last wishes to the young man soon to be flying away to America. He is not expected to live here ever again. He is not expected to return for many years - since it is very expensive and he needs to get a green card before coming back, else he will not be allowed in again. Basically, he is getting married - moving away to the in-laws house and can only come back if the in-laws allow it. It is a bit similar to saying goodbye to a girl on her wedding day. The whole communities show up.
My father had rented a bus so that people could come to the airport in the middle of the night. All day long, people had been dropping by and leaving. Towards the latter half of the day, people started staying for the bus.
There was constant food being served. People would go into the kitchen - eat and come out. In and out. My mom and the other women cooked for everyone. At some point - everyone had eaten and dinner wound down.
My father had hired a photographer - rather like a wedding. After dinner, there is a long, tedious session - and all the combinations are played out. The three siblings, the family, the one one ones, the one on twos, all that stuff. I have some beautiful picture memories of garlanding my brother in a 1-1 picture and a picture of all 5 of us and me being coy and cute. It gave me the only picture with Atul. Lot of good photo memories.
The night starts winding down as the time to leave for the airport draws near. People leave, people board the bus. I have this memory of throwing up as soon as the bus moved and then passing out.
Bhai left India for SF in '69. I was in KG. Maybe I am year off.
