2019

1. What did you do in 2019 that you’d never done before? Uh. I went to the Head In The Clouds Festival by myself?  Also, worth mentioning: I performed at church with my dad and some of his old friends for some event.  I had not done that in about 15 years, but I surprisingly felt comfortable and really enjoyed it, despite how awful we knew it turned out because we had no practice.

2. Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I don’t think I made any. 2020--the year I stop eating altogether.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth? I don’t know if we’re considered close, but my coworker, and my cousin gave birth.

4. Did anyone close to you die? No.

5. What countries did you visit? None.

6. What would you like to have in 2020 that you lacked in 2019? Joji.

7. What date from 2019 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? 8/17/19 - Head in the Clouds--first time.  The idea being that I went to see Joji, but was severely disappointed at how much of him I didn’t get to see.  It was definitely an experience.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? [trying to] Stand my own ground.  Also, I just realized my NoID Phalaenopsis orchid seems to be doing okay in water culture, so at least it’s not dead.

9. What was your biggest failure? Living My cattleya orchid died.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury? I had the flu.

11. What was the best thing you bought? Probably Ballads 1 on vinyl, or Joji hat.

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration? ?

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed? ****

14. Where did most of your money go? Bills.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? Probably Head in the Clouds.

16. What song will always remind you of 2019 ? Joji, “Slow Dancing In The Dark” Wallows, “Only Friend” Mojave 3, “My Life in Art” Vansire, “Eleven Weeks”

17. Compared to this time last year, are you: i. happier or sadder? I feel neutral, surprisingly. ii. thinner or fatter? Fatter. iii. richer or poorer? Despite that raise earlier this year, poorer.

18. What do you wish you’d done more of? Going to the gym. 19. What do you wish you’d done less of? Not going to the gym.

20. How did you spend Christmas? Christmas Eve, went to work, had Zen Curry for lunch!  Went home, and I think I opened up the wine bottle and uploaded pictures from the RPD.  Christmas Day, opened presents with my mom and just watched TV with my dad for a few minutes before going to my grandma’s to hang out with cousins.

21. Did you fall in love in 2019? Absolutely.

23. How many one-night stands? 0.

24. What was your favourite TV program? Mischievous Kiss! Fucking... Tidying Up. Game of Thrones.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year? Yeah, sure.

26. What was the best book you read? Well, the only book I think I read [or still reading] is Francis of the Filth.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery? Honestly--even though I feel like I discovered him last year, Joji.  Literally the only thing I have to listen to daily, and will start my day off with.  Also, I’ve been finding a lot of chick-lead bands, like Lunar Vacation.

28. What did you want and get? Mostly being able to spend time with people that I have not been able to in the past few years.  I also got two Filthy Frank shirts.

29. What did you want and not get? JOJI. Also, I ordered a black Head in the Clouds jacket from the GUE88 line, which these motherfuckers cancelled on me because the it was discontinued.  So I opted for the purple one from Urban Outfitters... fucking lame-o’s.

30. What was your favourite film of this year? Midsommar.  Sike, I don’t know.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? I turned 28.  I went to work, then had dinner with my parents.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably satisfying? Joji.  Also, maybe knowing what to expect at the Head in the Clouds festival...  I kind of had a panic attack going by myself; also, all the rude pushing and shoving just made me irritated--had I just not cared, and just gone with the flow, I probably would have enjoyed myself a little more at the event.  Also, I wish I knew how to cut ties earlier [or in general].

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2019? Scrubs...  and my Joji hat. Probably the only constants.

34. What kept you sane? Literally, watching Filthy Frank videos or something.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? Do I even need to say it anymore?

36. What political issue stirred you the most? Sure.

37. Who did you miss? --

38. Who was the best new person you met? I can’t think of any in particular, but there have been a few patients that I have been able to talk to about serious stuff, and it just made things easier.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2019: “2019: The year of knowing, and getting what we want.”

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year. “There’ll be times where you are stammering through tears, so long they’re not from crocodiles.”
