Everything's great.

But I can't help feeling so alone. My schoolwork just keeps piling up on me to the point where I can't live my own life. I want to go home and just go back to when I was so free, but I can't. And I'm growing up. And I hate being an adult. Every day is harder than the last and every moment is lonelier. I've never felt more alone. The world from my desk feels like a void where no matter how much I want to shout I can't, and no matter where I reach out, there is nobody to accept my hand. Sometimes I worry I'll become a beggar, washed out and alone. In the streets where nobody turns to help you and you can die of starvation overnight. But I'm not a beggar. And I hate asking for things. Maybe one day I'll feel the cold touch of another hand reaching down to lift me up, but I don't know if that hand will be that of a person, or the mighty hand of God coming to take me away. And God, why am I so melodramatic? Why do I not fear death, yet fear the end of the day? Why can't I just feel okay with everything right now? I'm not deserving of it. But I need love.

Look, I have to admit it somewhere. I live a great life. My parents love me, my brother loves me, I have some of the most amazing friends in the world. I continue to meet incredible people who make my life feel so much better. I only feel this way because I'm stressed and alone. I only feel this way because I'm stressed.

And alone.

You spent last night out partying and lost your wallet. You feel like an idiot and even though you've been searching for two days now, you can't seem to find any trace of it. Then, just as you've given up hope and are packing up to leave, this thing shows up. It's so short it doesn't even reach your knee. And it's got its weird little naked legs out as it stumbles over to you and hands you your lost wallet.

It asks you if you'd like to make a wish and reluctantly, you agree. It explodes into a puddle of wet-looking glitter but also you know immediately that it just somehow cured the chronic pain that has been plaguing you for literal years.

You spend the rest of your life pain-free but confused as hell.
