Movie poster "Challengers"
Unfortunately, I was unable to identify the artist or design studio behind this poster. However, I believe it may have been created by Gravillis Inc., the company that produced the main poster for the movie.
This work is interesting because it conveys the idea that the movie is not just about tennis, but also involves a love triangle. Even though the characters are in a complicated situation, they still fight like real opponents in a game.
The dominant color of the poster is green, which is reminiscent of the color of the tennis court and the balls. All the information on the poster is aligned towards the center, creating a symmetrical design that is pleasing to the eye.

Step into the enchanting world of Blue Jasmine, where dreams and secrets collide 💙🌺
One possible designer of this poster is Gravillis Inc., a creative agency that specializes in movie posters and has worked with Woody Allen on several of his films, including Midnight in Paris, To Rome with Love, and Magic in the Moonlight. With the thin, elegant serif typography, we can tell the genre of this movie is drama. Based on the Hierarchy, the selling point of this movie should belong to Woody Allan & Cate Blanchett
What I find amusing most about this poster is the simplicity by having a portrait of Cate Blanchett as the main objects. She is clouded by a white layer and the blue shades, which may suggest the loneliness, and confusion of "Jasmine", the character portrayed by Cate Blanchett. Without knowing the plot, by looking at this poster, we can tell this move is about this woman and her journey to figure something.

2018 in Review — Our Picks
We’ve compiled our most exciting acquisitions of 2018. See what our staff had to say about the posters that stood out most.
Thank you to everyone — our staff, customers, supporters and fans — who made this year a great one. Cheers!
Above, RBG, USA, 2018, art by Gravillis Inc. Our most popular selling poster this year.
La Dolce Vita, Italy, 1960
“Looking at this poster one not only gets an impression of the characters, lifestyle and tabloids that frequent the film but the sheer thrill of what this film offers. Fellini may have shot it in black and white but it remains a film full of life and color and this poster captures that beautifully: The alluring elegance of Rome under neon and its underlying shadow, the insincerity of a world ruled by fame, prestige and status.” -Nico, Gallery Assistant
2001: A Space Odyssey, Japan, R1995
“1995 was the year we needed a totally awesome pink and silver poster with twinkling foil stars for 2001 and I thank whoever made this for giving us exactly that.” -Stan, Gallery Manager
Marilyn, Japan, 1963
“To me this is the perfect use of a Japanese speed format. The design is minimal, Marilyn looks amazing, and those lucite heels are to die for.” -Laura, Gallery Assistant
Brazil, UK, 1985
“This gorgeous UK Quad embodies everything Brazil is about and easily remains the film’s best poster. Whether it be the shadowed, never-ending drawers and the frightening labyrinth of bureaucracy it embodies, or the elegant, fantastical flying figure eager for escape, to the title’s font no one can ever forget, it’s as if the film’s imagery were printed on paper.” -Nico
Solaris, Italy, 1974
“This might not be the most appropriate poster for the overall mood and visuals of Solaris, but the artwork is extremely well done and in the classic painterly style that was popular in Italy in the 1960s and 70s.” -Laura
The Exterminating Angel, Japan, R2017
“Every element is situated just right on this lovely little chirashi. The halftone effect was a nice choice. And if there’s a shade of grey that’s the best this is the one.” -Stan
The Man Who Fell to Earth, USA, 1976
“Making a poster for Roeg’s bold, mulitgenre film is no easy feat and this poster captures how alien both the film and our world can be. It brilliantly uses a photo’s negative and a dynamic use of space and shape. You have the man, alien, planet and more importantly, an interest in all of those subjects, just from looking at the poster.“ -Nico
The Killing of a Chinese Bookie, Germany, 1978
“This is really one of the weirdest movie posters I’ve ever seen and the guy that designed it we’re pretty sure is named Zorg.” -Stan
Frogs, Japan, 1975
“This poster is much more exciting than the actual film, and I say that in the best way possible. The U.S. posters for Frogs have the amazing frog-eating-hand motif, but only the Japanese poster has this splendid and totally absurd stock image collage.” -Laura
Othello, Poland, 1959
“Matching the elegance of Shakespeare’s pen and Welles’ haunting baroque imagery, this beautifully austere poster is a classic example of Polish design.” -Nico
The Man Who Skied Down Everest, USA, 1975
“I love the sans serif typeface and the photo of a guy actually skiing down Mount Everest.” -Stan
To Catch a Thief, Denmark, R1960s
“The colors, printing, and graphic weirdness of this design totally make the poster. Totally amazing.” -Laura
Dogville, Japan, 2003
“I like this a lot because it reminds me of the opening titles to Alien.” -Stan
The 400 Blows, Hungary, 1960
“This artwork is totally unique to the Hungarian poster. Like many Eastern European posters, it has a sombre mood, but that makes the liberating end of the film all the more satisfying.” -Laura
More of our picks below.
101 Dalmatians, Hungary, R1984
2001: A Space Odyssey, USA, 1968
Belladonna of Sadness, USA, 2016
Fitzcarraldo, Czech Republic, 1982
Harold and Maude, France, R1980s
The Master, France, 2012
North by Northwest, Japan, 1959
Phantom Thread, USA, 2017
Salesman, USA, 1969
Zazie dans le métro, Poland, 1960

⮤ Second attempt at painting a cola can (Author’s own, unpublished 2020).
I’m so happy with how this one turned out - it’s definitely a lot cleaner after taking the time to hand-paint the final details and simplifying my stencils so that they’re made to fill in only large blocks of colour in the overall composition. Eventually when my teacher get back to me though, I would like to try my hand at silk-screening prints to see if that makes any difference to my work.
At this point, my goal is to start deciding on what my final four posters will be. The illustrations are done, but I do want to keep looking into the work of Saul Bass as his posters are like what I’ve tried to do here - stencilled, blocky and simple illustrations. For movie posters, I feel minimal designs are more effective than ones with far too much information on them - so this seems to be the best place to go next from here.
After looking at Bass’ work, the next step - as mentioned in the checklist I made earlier on this year - is to review my illustrations to see if they convey the points Hawke made in Ideology. In Hawkes’ book, I came across the topic of hegemony which might be an interesting thing to look into next. Perhaps that aspect of ideology may feed into a design for a fifth poster (should I need it for the final display of all my works). I also feel that re-watching the movie another time - now after doing this research - may also inspire me to make changes to my posters and some final edits.
To close off my research, some time will definitely be spent on researching some design programs that are accessible to me. For this I plan to watch some tutorials so that I can familiarise myself with basic controls, tools and design techniques and try new things that I haven’t done before (e.g. masking parts off and embedding textures the way Gravillis Inc. did).

I love these both!
The first was created by Gravillis Inc for a film celebrating the life of the fashion icon Iris Apfel. Apearing in black and white against the vibrant background it really representsher love of fashion. The style feels hand crafted and this gives it a touch of luxury, in my opinion anyway! I love it, Its not offend you seen a pencil illustration on a film poster.
The second was created by artist Vasilis Marmatakis, again i love how it has a hand crafted feel, the minimalistic design works really well as doesn't the monotone palette. The content speaks for itself and doesn't need over complicating.

Poster Review (Jingyi Zhao)
This poster is created by Thomas Couderc and Clément Vauchez for a fashion event at the Galeries Lafayette in Paris. The designers successfully made a connection between a fashionable girl and a lion using the very sharp color differences and appropriate transparency, with a black background to make the whole poster very mysterious. I personally find this poster very inspiring because it reminds me of the question that has been argued in fashion industry for a long time that whether we should stop wear animal fur and leather. Some reviewers also claim the main idea that the designers wanted to express is the relationship of animal instinct versus fashion instinct.
This poster is designed by Gravillis Inc for a documentary film released in 2015. The film is mean to celebrate the life of fashion icon Iris Apfel. In this poster, the designer uses a very vibrant patterned background to show Iris’s love for fashion. And Iris herself appears in black and white makes her figure stand out the entire poster. I find that is interesting that how the designer merges the idea of fashion without making the poster into a fashion product poster style, by merely coloring the glasses frame. If the the glasses that Iris is wearing is not colored like this, I would think the poster is about the old lady. But with the glasses colored like that, I would say that this poster is definitely about fashion. And if someone has ever seen a picture of Iris, they would know that this kind of glasses is definitely her style.
