Life of a Whis

Four years... Daily Whis has been running for four years now and I genuinely can't thank all of you enough!

I know this endeavor started as a silly thing I wanted to do because I was inspired by daily-squilf, but I never expected this blog to grow so much and become such an important part of my life. Whistlepaw, no. Whistlebreeze has grown so much in the past four years and so have I alongside whis. This blog genuinely means so much to me. It's gotten me through horrendous times and I also got to bring my joy to it too. Whis means so much to me, I draw her all the time in class or when I lack inspiration. I can draw that face with those fluffs anywhere.

And none of this would've happened without your support either. All the loving comments and reactions to my drawings is what kept me motivated to draw for so long, and today you all proved again why Daily Whis couldn't be a solo mission. Thanks to you I still got to do the yearly celebration of posting one drawing per hour every hour ignoring the fact that this post gets 20 drawings technically, I'll share all the separate frames in a reblog. Thank you so much to every single one of you for participating in this, or supporting this blog for the past four years, you are all so incredibly amazing

To celebrate the four years of this blog, I think we need a name change. Whis got her full name, so from now on this blog will be daily-whistlebreeze to match that change. I'm not planning on stopping soon either, I will keep going until the Erins finally cave and make that damned book or the series stops. So now, I hope you all enjoyed the fourth anniversary of Daily-Whistlebreeze, I'll be back tomorrow with another day of Whis and her antics

Grassfur

Grassfur is an auburn she-cat.

For the last of the FeatherOat kits (for now, Whistlebreeze still needs her adult sheet), it's Grassfur! :D

Grassfur has no physical description given other than her pattern, so I came up with my own for her. I gave her her mother's oriental build and thicker fur. I used her grandma Sedgewhisker's lineart (though since I lost the file for it when my old phone died, I had to trace it), but with even thicker fur, nice and spiky like blades of grass as a nod to her name.

For her pattern, Grassfur is described as an auburn she-cat. I played around with her colors to get her looking sufficiently auburn, I think this works. ^^ She has no canon eye color, so I gave her a nice bright, grassy green as a nod to her name.

Overall, I'm really happy with how she turned out. :D

I ran outta tags for the last post, so here are the other six new warriors!

Windclan (Part 2) is Leafcurl, Branchleap, and Grassfur. Leafcurl's name is so cute and unique and then her siblings get the basic -leap and -fur suffixes lmaoo. Then in Riverclan, Rapidsplash, Floatshimmer, and Troutshine. Phew. The new kits and apprentices are gonna take a little longer to come out, it was a stroke of luck that the preview was released on the one day I don't have classes lol.

why not all five three; I love Jingo too and this ask was a perfect excuse to show off the kinda random headcanon I have that Bristleclaw, Ridgeglow and Grassfur are all three very fiesty and sporty and meet up to spar together, and if I drew two of the cats, then why not Lakeheart too lmao

this new family tree reveal might have been one of the stupidest I've ever seen. Tawnypelt is doing absolutely fuckall about reacting to having another set of grandkids (though from what I've gathered Poolkit and siblings didn't do much either, so at least it's consistent), Flipclaw and Myrtlebloom make their children literally the same amount of inbred as Moonpaw and we already had a whole discourse about That, they refuse to address Floatshimmer's age and instead just make her and Graysky have a Happy Little Family (despite how she's too young and the odd implications that it gives to Gray sadly enough), and WindClan is becoming a mess.

All of the young cats in that Clan are related. Appleshine and Woodsong are Breezeheather kits, but Whistlebreeze, Flutterfoot, Songleap, Grassfur, Branchleap, Learcurl, Stripeheart and Brookripple are all Sedgewhisker's grandchildren and now you're telling me Sedge had Two More Kittens?

And now Apple and Flutter had kittens together. There is no way WindClan isn't becoming the next target of first cousin pairings (I'm calling Grass with either Stripe or Brook, no matter how much I despise that idea) because all of their young cats are descended of one cat now.

They could've saved themselves so much trouble by making Fluff and Silky kittypets, or at least the kids of Slightfoot or someone else that ISN'T related to Gorsetail, but noooooooooooo.

We complain a lot that ShadowClan has become SnowbirdClan, but WindClan is basically becoming GorsetailClan at this rate and they don't have any unrelated mollies anymore. The HeatherBreeze kids are tied up in this mess too now and the only other one they had left to ThunderClan to nearly be cheated on. The only hope they have left is to get sole cats from outside to join not Tawnypelt please, but they're probably too irrelevant for them to actually have something interesting like that going on

I feel like the modern timeline series needs to end after changing skies before these cats inbreed themselves to death. I know inbreeding is inevitable in these kinds of populations but still maybe the Erins could, oh I don’t know, stop putting first cousins together and actually utilise clan swapping and the outsiders joining the clans. Is that too much to ask?

Oh, and here's all the new names:

ThunderClan: Bristleclaw, Stemtail , Greywhisker, Wafflepelt. Sunbeam's kits are Goldenkit and Shinekit. Myrtlebloom's kits are Oakkit, Sunkit and Hazelkit.

Shadowclan: Birchfeather, Bloompetal, Firbark, Whisperbreeze and Streamripple. There two new apprentices named Redpaw and Sprucepaw. Lightleap's kits are Quickkit, Poolkit and Beechkit, or as the allegiances spells it, beehckit)

SkyClan: Beetleshine, Beesting, Duskshine, Ridgeglow. Needleclaw's kits are Robinkit and Starlingkit

WindClan: Leafcurl, Grassfur and Branchleap. Appleshine's kits are Rustlekit and Stretchkit. There are two new apprentices, Silkypaw and Mistpaw

RiverClan: Troutshine, Rapidsplash (named after her brother maybe??) and Floatshimmer. Floatshimmer's kits are Heronkit and Eelkit.

Oh, and Moonpaw has a small orange cat living inside her head, ig. At least it's not Mapleshade!
