So since we (kinda) know what Benreys house looks like. What do the other ai's houses look like? Are they copy paste in regards to the general floorplan or did Gordon go out of his way to customize each? Also what style of furniture/decor (if there's any cohesive style at all) do each of the ai's have? Asking for fanart related reasons.
Gordon didn't do much to customize the houses before everyone moved in. He gave everybody roughly the same floor plan (adjusted for number of residents per house) with plenty of options to renovate and customize things to their liking. Each home started out with some pretty basic-looking furniture in roughly the same arrangement in each house, but everybody has a phone with a digital furniture catalog for customizing and replacing things. Gordon can help move heavy items with his godly desktop interface powers, but he can be kind of clumsy when interacting objects with three-dimensional space from an isometric view. It's better to enlist his help when he's "visiting".
As for style? Oh man that's a big question. I've written before that Darnold likes mod décor, but tries to keep style balanced with usefulness. Tommy has a taste for kitsch, decorating with collectables on the walls and conversation pieces, all with bright accent colors. His dad's not too sure what his own taste is, so he likes what Tommy likes.
For the Boomers, their old living space was made up of memories more than a solid decorating style-- standard issue dormitory furniture modified to death, the big ugly floral couch from Coomer's ex-sister-in-law, and whatever they could fit in their small on-site apartment. Now that they've got a whole house and yard to work with, Bubby gets to figure out how to live in a real house for the first time. As a result, the couple's home decor style is... uh, very lived in. Honestly I don't know the best way to describe it, I just think of my own grandparents' house full of curiosities and whatever suited them best.
I welcome suggestions and different interpretations of this!

Because Two People Got Drunk
Santa Baby

Word Count: 3800
As a kid you loved the holidays. Being half Jewish half-Christian, it was important for your parents to combine both Jewish and Christian traditions, your mom and dad’s lives into one. No tradition or belief overpowering the other. A perfect balance,
Then they passed away.
The holidays would be hard on anybody under those circumstances but add in your grandparents didn’t value your moms’ Christian beliefs and effectively banned Christmas from your house, it always felt like something was missing. A part of you was missing.
It wasn’t until you were in college and on your own did you have the opportunity to choose how to spend the holidays. You embraced everything you had been suppressing, you went Christmas. Big tree in the living room, lights in the window, Santa sculptures, snowmen and nutcracker in your bedroom and on every surface. You leaned into Christmas and in the process stepped out of Hanukah and your Jewish heritage. That again felt wrong.
It took some time, but eventually you realized it felt wrong because it is wrong. Your parents blended the two, not just red and green but also blue. A Christmas tree in the corner but a menorah in the window. The stars of David were intermixed with the other décor, a few even hanging from the branches of the tree. Your parents found a way to embrace both of them and you should be doing the same. For years you found a way to blend the two and celebrate every part of you.
Then came Fred. Christmas is his favourite holiday. Every year there was a tree he’d put up in the window, decorations on the counter and mantle, even an ugly sweater or two tucked in the closet.
That first year when Oliver was barely a month old and all of your belongings were packed away in Toronto, you worried the apartment would feel like something was missing again. You had barely unpacked when you dragged Fred to a tree farm, you made cookies, you rummaged through his boxes and set the pillows by the door and reindeer on the side tables. You were the one leading the charge, and if you hadn’t told Fred you were part Jewish he likely would have had no idea.
That’s why you were surprised to walk out of the bedroom one night and see a Menorah.
You didn’t realize it then, but Fred’s love language is acts of kindness, and that small act should have been the first indicator to just how much he loved you.
Four kids later and you have more than just a Menorah. Like your parents before, you and Fred found that perfect blend that works for your family. Some days are just about Christmas and others center around Hanukah. Today is Christmas.
It's been two hours in line at the mall for a picture with Santa. Two hours in a slow-moving line with dozens screaming kids, some laughter and absolute chaos.
You’ve been tired, excessively tired for days now. A flu erupted in Oliver’s class, which he brought home and has slowly trickled through your family, one person at a time, most recently landing on you. That’s why with his one day off, Fred turned the baby monitors off early and wrangled the cranky boys and a barely recovered Elise from bed and let you sleep. When you woke up at almost nine there were countless dirty dishes in the sink, toys blanketing the floor and four wild children enthusiastically ambushing you the second you walked into the room.
Fred is always willing to do anything and everything for you, even if that means getting to the mall three hours later than intended solely to let you sleep. As much as you appreciate the sleep, the delay has led to a longer wait than either of you accounted for and children who are increasingly becoming more impatient.
Oliver has asked ‘how much longer’ seven times in the last twenty minutes. You were hot and clammy and took your coat off, then became cold and tired and tried to lean on Fred only for Elise to whine because you were too close to “her daddy,” – basically her newest thing to prevent Fred from showing attention to anyone but her. The twins both had meltdowns – separately of course – and after Noah’s most recent episode full of tears, screams and whining Fred and the three youngest left you in line to wander around the mall. Hopeful a change of scenery would help calm them down.
“Hey,” Fred pops up beside you, holding Elise and Noah on his hips, Lucas with his little hand tangled into a belt loop.
“Mommy,” Noah sniffles.
His usual smile and big cheeks replaced with a redness in the eyes and dried tears in the corner. Fred places a gentle kiss on his temple and passes him over to you, Noah’s head falling directly to your shoulder.
“Hi baby,” you soothe, letting one hand rub over his back. “You want a snack?” Feeling a faint nod and an incoherent mumble you reach into the bag you packed with snacks and pull out a strawberry fruit squeeze and snap off the cap and hand one to every child.
Fred smirks slightly. He long ago knew you were prepared for just about everything, but it never ceases to amaze him how you know what to do and when to do it.
“How are you doing babe?” He gently sweeps some of your hair off to the side with a simple smile on his lips.
“I’m okay,” you sigh as his thumb soothes over your jaw It always surprises you how at ease Fred can make you feel. On days like today when nothing seems to be going right and you can’t find a second to yourself, the simplest action by Fred can instantly flip a switch within you. “Ready to be home, with some tea and a warm blanket.”
“You love your blankets,” Fred smirks. The light catches his brown eye, and it swells as he leans in for a soft kiss but is interrupted by a whine coming from your impatient daughter.
“It’s almost your turn Elise,” Fred turns to her, using a peppy voice. “Two more kid than you guys get to see Santa.”
“Santa,” she perks slightly, and glances over to the man in red.
“Santa,” Noah points to him with his fist tightly clenching his fruit squeeze.
“Yeah,” you bounce him, eliciting a small grin. “You’re soon.”
“Santa.” He repeats, the glimmer of hope returning to his eyes.
The next few minutes flew by. Once the kids found out they were next in line, their frustration over the situation was diminished and excitement returned. Smiles returned to their faces, every fifth word was Santa, and Lucas practically launched himself out of Fred’s arms to get there sooner.
“And have you been a good boy, Noah?” Santa asks.
“Yes!” All four kids’ voices overlap.
Oliver stands off to the side, leaning tight to him while Elise and the twins are all crammed in on his lap, fighting for space. Your youngest still completely captivated by him, has two fingers entangled with his beard. A real beard not one of those fake ones held on by an elastic band.
“We’ve all been good!” Lucas tells him.
“Yes,” the man in red lets out a loud laugh. “I do believe so. Now what would you like for Christmas?”
Standing off to the side, Fred wraps an arm around your shoulder and his lips linger near your ear. Finally getting the opportunity to show some affection to you as Elise is distracted.
“That smile makes it all worth it.”
“Yeah,” you shudder at his touch. You feel a tingle deep down inside. The electricity erupting in your core is nothing new, but it being caused by something other than your husband is.
“Sure you’re okay?” Fred cranes his head to look at you, a quizzical arch on his eyebrows.
“Yeah,” you involuntarily clench, a heavy lump caught in your throat.
“Mommy!” Elise comes sprinting over to you. “Mommy I got a candy cane.”
“A candy cane?”
Her coming to you is a rare occurrence when Fred is around, and you eagerly peel yourself from his embrace and welcome the enthusiastic ball of energy to your arms.
“Mhm, can I have it now?”
“Of course.”
Putting Elise on your hip, you tug on the plastic wrapper and open the treat for her. As the three boys take off like a rocket towards you. The twins have a light in their eye and their lower lip pulled between their teeth, the indication two tiny tornados are about to hurl themselves in your direction. Fred bends down and within a second two tiny bodies are throwing their arms around his neck and bodies against his chest.
“Daddy!”
“Daddy!”
Like always, their two voices overlap.
“Yes,” he chuckles and stands up, adjusting them to be properly on his hip.
“We saw Santa!” Noah exclaims.
“Yeah? What did you tell him you want?”
“I want a dinosaur.”
“I want a dinosaur too!” Lucas adds in.
Fred turns to you with a large smile on his face. The answer was known before he even asked.
Your spare hand links into Olivers and the six of you make your way through the mall towards the food court. The kids are in a good mood, there is no way you’re risking that by waiting for lunch.
Fred can tell there is something on your mind. As you split the fries between your children and pull the pickle off Noah’s cheeseburger and put it on Lucas’s you might as well have screamed it aloud. Lucas hates pickles and Noah loves them. And when Oliver tells you about his class holiday party and the treat he signed up to bring, you barely even acknowledge him.
**
“You sure you’re okay?”
Back in your car with all the kids busying themselves, overlapping chatter about Santa, Christmas, Fred’s hockey game tomorrow you promised to take them to, you and Fred finally have a moment to talk. That is until one of them looks at another the wrong way and a full-out war erupts in the backseat.
“I know the holidays can be tough on you,” his hand slips perfectly into yours and he reassuringly squeezes. “All the people you wish could be here.”
“Wasn’t even thinking of them,” you quietly admit.
“Oh, well I feel like a jackass now,” he laughs to himself. “I just assumed; you’ve been in your head a bit today.”
“Hmm,” you shrug, eyes trained ahead.
“Min skat,” Fred squeezes your hand firmer, drawing your attention. “Talk to me.”
There is a moment when your eyes flick across his face, contemplation and weighing of the consequences burning bright inside. Fred has long been the person you turn to, the person that makes everything better, it shouldn’t be this hard.
“Please elskede. Tell me what’s on your mind.”
The desperation in his words breaks your walls. He is genuinely worried over something that needn’t bring it, but the words are not easy.
“It’s nothing bad or worrisome, I promise,” a slight smirk hits your lips. Leaning over you press the volume button up a few times until much of the backseat chatter is drowned by Christmas music.
“Then why can’t you tell me?” His eyes dart over the console to you as the vehicle stops at a red light.
“It was just…have you ever…I was thinking…”
“Elskede, you can tell me anything.”
Fred quiets your ramble only to draw an outburst. “Would you ever dress like Santa?”
The peculiar look only contorts further as he tries to understand your question. “Like on Christmas Eve or something for the kids?”
“No, I mean I guess you could then too,” you trail off and eyes drop to the floor as the rising heat under your skin becomes too much.
“I don’t understand,” he gently massages the pad of his thumb into back of your hand. “If I’m not wearing it for the kids, who am I…” Fred is the one to trail off when you cutely smirk, letting him connect the dots on his own. “Oh.”
Not the response you were hoping for.
You and Fred have a fairly active sex life and are constantly communicating, what works and what doesn’t, it’s part of what makes it so great. There isn’t a lot you haven’t tried, mostly positions that look like are designed for yoga instructors, threesomes, that was something you long ago agreed was off the table and role-playing. Which is shocking because you have no problem dressing in sexy lingerie and he has no issue with the dirty talk. But if role-playing is a no for Fred, you would accept his boundary and not push it.
“Your dad didn’t dress like Santa?”
“My dad’s Jewish,” you chuckle. “He celebrated Christmas with my mom and I but dressing as Santa was a little too much for him.”
“Right,” Fred nods, still processing your admission.
“You don’t have to do it,” you laugh again.
“Santa though? He’s old and fat.”
“He is kind and selfless, giving toys to all the boys and girls,” you counter.
“He has an army of slaves, probably whips them up at the north pole to get the toys done in time.”
“If you want I’ll dress like an elf and you can whip me,” you wink.
“I-“ Fred goes to speak but stops and his golden-brown eyes begin to flicker, almost as if he is considering the offer. It doesn’t shock you, you being bratty always turned him on. “Santa though?” he repeats. “He’s old and has grey hair.”
“Maybe I want a glimpse of what you’ll look like as old and grey,” you lean over and place a kiss to his cheek. “Prepare myself for the future.”
**
In the days that passed, neither of you brought it up. Most days you’re trying to wrangle your children that never seemed to have an off switch, trying to give Elise a bath while the twins wrestle in the living room and Oliver complains because his brothers are encroaching his space.
Fred was in and out of the house with road games and team events, but he did what he could to help. Whether ordering you dinner or sending flowers when he couldn’t be there, soft kisses in your hairline and lingering touches to the small of your back. He always was your rock even when you didn’t know you needed him to be.
You assumed Fred was either considering the idea or wasn’t on board, either way you weren’t going to bring it up and pressure him further. He’d talk when ready. That’s why late one night when the kids are finally asleep and the living room was an absolute disaster you were a bit surprised to find Fred in a bright red suit, bells and all.
“Santa,” you muse, rounding the corner. “Christmas isn’t for five days.”
“I had to make an early visit,” Fred strokes his beard, struggling to keep a firm face.
The red velvet pops against his fair skin, and while clothes are normally tight on him, muscles and curves being carved out like stone, in many places he is smaller than the man who typically wears it – the stomach especially being loose. And while you are impartial to the tight attire, something about the bright red colour and floppy hat does something to you.
“Oh,” you play coy. Slowly meandering your way around the island, the palm of your hand drags across the counter. “And why’s that?”
“Why you’re on the naughty list,” he replicates a deep voice, similar to that of a Christmas Santa.
“Can’t have that,” you stop a few inches from him and peer up at him through beady lashes, a dampness pooling in your core.
“Well not if you want presents.” He tries to keep his composure but you can hear the shake that follows a deep breath.
“I think you have a very special present for me.” You grin when his cheeks flare up brighter than his suit. “A very large present.”
“Only good girls get presents,” Fred bites at his lower lip.
“So, tell me Santa, what can I do to get off the naughty list?” You bat your eyelashes sweetly, massaging his growing cock over the red velvet pants.
Fred’s lips are hot on your neck, the white Santa beard dropping between the cut of your shirt – tickling both of your breasts. His body cages you, slowly walking you backward until the stone of the counter juts into your back. Even as you loudly gasp your hand doesn’t waver, stroking and massaging him further until you feel his fully hardened member pressing back at you.
“Turn around,” Fred growls.
Doing as your told you spin around and within a second you feel the white fluff at the end of his sleeves roughly rubbing along your hips as he presses your leggings down until they bunch below your knees. White knuckling the counter to prepare yourself for his entrance, you are surprised when his damp lips kiss your heat. As shock quickly erupts into pleasure, you squeal as he forcefully grips your thighs and spreads you apart, your glistening pussy on display for him.
After a few kitten licks, just enough to let you know what’s coming, his nails anchor into your warm skin. He pins your writhing body in place and slips his tongue in deep, letting his nose nudge between your cheeks. He always felt good, knowing exactly what to do and when to do it, but this angle coupled the pressure is all very new, but quickly has you rendered incapacitated.
If it wasn’t for Fred’s hands holding you up you’d surely fall over. His virtuoso tongue has you bent roughly over the counter, moaning louder and louder as his nose furthers itself in, nudging the rim of your hole. Every part of you is hot, brimming with need.
It doesn’t take long. His lips sucking at your pussy lips, stroking you closer and closer until it’s inevitable. Your husbands tongue moves perfectly against your engorged pussy, throwing you over a cliff and into heaven.
There is a low groan from below as your warm release coats his tongue, fingers anchoring in, inevitably leaving marks. Your body spasms and clenches above him, his face wearing you like a hat.
Before you have taken a breath, Fred is on his feet, whipping you around. The white that would normally coat his auburn beard is lost in the stringy Santa beard dangling from his chin, but the dark, blackened ring around his eyes is undeniable.
“Mrs. Claus is one very lucky lady,” you breathe out as he adjusts the beard to the correct position.
“Mrs. Claus is on the nice list.”
He begins tugging at the jacket buttons, slowly revealing his hard bare chest underneath. When the final button is released he begins to shake the oversized jacket off when you quickly grab the white faux fur that lines it.
“Jacket stays on,” you tell him.
“Don’t think naughty girls are in a place for demands,” he states bluntly but leaves the jacket on.
His tone shuts you up, but not for long, two of his fingers dip down and enter you. His other hand grabs at yours and directs them to his leather belt, and you fumble to release it. But the second you do and the fabric drops below his swollen cock you are on the counter.
You hold your breath as he enters you. Even though he has never been able to keep his dick out of you, you never grew accustomed to the stretch that came with him. Most nights Fred gives you a second to adjust, tonight is not one of those nights.
The second he is buried to the hilt your legs wrap around his hips, the soft velvet a welcome contrast to rough calloused hands pulling you back onto his girth. Fred is hungry, hitting the spot that drives you wild, and hitting it hard.
“Such a naughty girl,” his previously cheerful Santa voice replaced with heavy gravel.
Under the loose fabric of your tee, your breasts bounce with every thrust. Your hand reaches out and grabs at the white wig, dragging him closer until there is nothing left between your bodies. You separate for a second and release a breathy gasp when one of his hands snakes between you, finding your clit and pressing rhythmic circle.
As amazing as that is you need him, his lips. You quickly tug against his wig and he takes the hint, bringing you in for a searing kiss, kissing so hard you can’t breathe.
With his cock sliding in and out, you writhe against him, gasping and moaning with every thrust. You can feel your impending orgasm creeping up on you, the knot in your stomach tightening with every stroke of your g-spot.
“Santa,” you mewl desperately.
“Hmm,” he doesn’t let up.
“Santa…I’m…I’m…” words are dying on your lips and stars are flooding your vision until it’s mostly black.
“You gonna cum?” He patronizingly grunts, shunting you further onto the counter with a powerful thrust. “You gonna be a good girl and cum for me?”
“Yeee…eess,” you squeal, the sensation only growing.
It only takes a few more thrusts of his perfectly placed cock against your g-spot for you to come undone. Something splinters. The pent-up coil in your stomach springs apart along with your grip on reality. Hot release drips around his cock that continues to drive inside you.
“Gonna be a good girl and milk my cock?” He hums when you manage a faint nod. “Such a good girl,” Fred’s harmonious tongue is hot on your neck, millimeters from your earlobe. He is becoming sporadic, stuttering and grunting while he struggles to keep it together. “Good girls take it all, every fucking drop.”
“I want your cum Santa.” He breaks character for a second and you feel his lips curl upward against you.
With a deep howl, he quickly responds and spills hot and wet inside your cunt. Following a few shallow thrusts Fred stops and pulls away. The hat on his head is barely there, a few more thrusts and it would have fallen off. The beard is no longer in place, dangling loosely around his neck and a mixture of sticky white contrasting the red pants.
“So,” you lean back on your palms, bliss painted on your face. “Am I on the nice list yet?”
Fred chuckles, a large smile pressed on his face. “It was certainly a start, but you still have some work to do.”
“Well,” you reach up and tug on his hat, putting it back in place. “Why don’t you come upstairs, and we’ll see if I can change that.”

Timeless Charm: Rediscovering the Beauty of Vintage Wallpaper
In the world of interior design, trends come and go like the passing seasons. Yet, amidst the ever-evolving landscape of décor, there's a classic element that continues to stand the test of time: vintage wallpaper. With its unique patterns, rich history, and undeniable charm, vintage wallpaper holds a special place in the hearts of design enthusiasts and homeowners alike.
There's something undeniably captivating about the intricate designs and muted colors of vintage wallpaper. Whether it's the delicate florals of the Victorian era, the bold geometrics of the Art Deco period, or the whimsical motifs of the 1950s, each piece tells a story of its own.
One of the most enchanting aspects of vintage wallpaper is its ability to evoke a sense of nostalgia. For many, it conjures memories of childhood homes, grandparents' houses, or beloved vintage shops. There's a comforting familiarity to these designs, a feeling of warmth and timelessness that transcends trends.
But vintage wallpaper isn't just about nostalgia; it's also about embracing history and preserving the past. Each roll of vintage wallpaper is a piece of living history, a tangible link to the design styles and cultural movements of bygone eras. By incorporating vintage wallpaper into modern spaces, we pay homage to the craftsmanship and creativity of those who came before us.
Moreover, vintage wallpaper offers a sense of authenticity that is often lacking in mass-produced, contemporary designs. Each imperfection tells a story, whether it's a slightly faded hue, a small tear, or a subtle variation in pattern. These imperfections only add to the character and charm of vintage wallpaper, giving it a soulfulness that can't be replicated.
In addition to its aesthetic appeal, vintage wallpaper also boasts practical benefits. Many vintage patterns are made from high-quality materials that stand the test of time, offering durability and longevity that rivals their modern counterparts. Plus, the thick texture of vintage wallpaper can help to insulate walls and dampen sound, making it both functional and beautiful.
Of course, incorporating vintage wallpaper into your home requires careful consideration and planning. While it can add warmth and character to any space, it's important to choose patterns and colors that complement your existing décor. Mixing vintage wallpaper with modern furnishings and accessories can create a striking juxtaposition that adds interest and depth to a room.
When it comes to installation, working with vintage wallpaper requires a delicate touch and attention to detail. Due to its age and fragility, vintage wallpaper may need to be handled with care during the hanging process. Hiring a professional installer who is experienced with vintage materials can help ensure a smooth and successful installation.
For those who are hesitant to commit to covering an entire room in vintage wallpaper, there are plenty of alternative ways to incorporate this timeless element into your home. Consider framing a small section of vintage wallpaper as artwork, or using it to line the back of a bookshelf or cabinet for a subtle pop of color and pattern. You could even use vintage wallpaper to create one-of-a-kind accents, such as custom lampshades or decorative trays.
In conclusion, vintage wallpaper is more than just a design choice; it's a celebration of history, craftsmanship, and timeless beauty. Whether you're drawn to the intricate florals of the Victorian era or the bold geometrics of the Art Deco period, there's a vintage wallpaper pattern to suit every style and taste. So why not embrace the charm of yesteryear and rediscover the beauty of vintage wallpaper in your own home?

Character Profiles: Other servants and employees
Index: Clifford, Thomas, Grace, Wentworth, Quentin, Sycamore, Daisy, Scott, Ishmael
(All character ages are as of the latest chapter, or when they died. All information as of the latest chapter too.)
Navigation: Main and extras | Cloudia's grandparents and maternal extended family | Cloudia's paternal extended family (and Florentin) | Other servants and employees | Antagonists | Scotland Yard and misc.
Name: Theodore Clifford
Nickname(s): Ted, Teddy, Old Ted, Cliff
Birthday: 1784
Age: 64 (at time of death; March 28, 1848)
Physical description: grey, formerly light brown hair, dark brown eyes
Affiliation: Phantomhive family (former)
Occupation: Butler (former)
Base of Operations: Phantomhive Manor (former); Phantomhive townhouse (former)
Random fact(s): He learned how to make blankets/quilts from his grandmother. It didn’t make him popular at school, but several of his blankets are still at Phantomhive Manor. Cloudia likes wrapping herself in one when she reads a book or just because.
Background info:
When I looked at my notes and saw I jotted down his birth year as 1784, I wanted to change it to 1774 to make him older. Then, I saw that I had already given it (indirectly) in “The Countess, Unamused,” so that was it.
The third arc was meant to be about him more, but the story ended up turning into another direction in the end.
First appearance: The Lady, First Training (Chapter 10)
----
Name: Thomas Holmwood
Nickname(s): Tom, Tommy, Horse Boy
Birthday: 1828
Age: 20
Physical description: brown hair, dark brown eyes
Affiliation: Phantomhive family
Occupation: Stable boy; coachman
Base of Operations: Phantomhive Manor; Phantomhive townhouse
Random fact(s):
He has a little, impossible crush on Clarissa.
He often asks for a salary raise because Lisa keeps squeezing his money out of him when they play cards. Cloudia does not want to indulge him and, thus, always refuses. (He gets more “normal” salary raises though.)
Thomas is quite friendly with Cedric. They often talk when Cloudia is still busy and cannot meet up with Cedric yet.
Background info: I think I got his surname from the Department 19 series. Thomas does not descend from a long line of vampire hunters though. (If he did, it would terrify him.)
First appearance: The Green Ghost of Nephelius Cemetery (Part 1): The Countess, First Encounter; The Countess, Captured (Chapter 16; present)
----
Name: Grace Nullings
Nickname(s): Gracie
Birthday: 1805
Age: 43
Physical description: light brown hair, blue-green eyes
Affiliation: Phantomhive family; Houghton family (former)
Occupation: Lady’s maid
Base of Operations: Phantomhive Manor; Phantomhive townhouse; Houghton Manor (former)
Random fact(s): Besides being her lady’s maid, she’s childhood friends with Penelope. Grace was the cook’s daughter, and Penelope got along better with her than with her own sisters.
Background info: She’s named after Millard Nullings from Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. His peculiarity is invisibility which fits with a rarely appearing character (and the one time she did it was very brief), particularly a servant character as servants were meant not to be heard or seen.
First appearance: The Countess, Thirteen Days; has not appeared in the present yet
----
Name: Abraham Wentworth
Nickname(s): Bram
Birthday: ??
Age: Old
Physical description: grey, formerly dark blond hair, light blue eyes
Affiliation: Salisbury family
Occupation: Butler
Base of Operations: Salisbury Villa (former); wherever Milton lives now and travels to
Favourite Colour: wine red
Favourite Flower: whatever fits the décor
Favourite Dessert: none (though he does like nicking bits of chocolate and apple cake every now and then)
What is in his bag? handkerchief, set of keys, diary, pencils; he likes to travel lightly and does not carry much
Random fact(s): His first master used him as a food taster as he greatly feared that he could be poisoned. Wentworth thought it was a bit silly, but still went along with it out of loyalty.
Background info: I initially put “burgundy” as his favourite colour, but, apparently, “burgundy” is only used as a colour word in English since 1881??
First appearance: The Countess, Scary (Chapter 5)
----
Name: Quentin Thibault-Nichols
Nickname(s): Quent, Quenti
Birthday: 1812
Age: 36
Physical description: tall, broad-shouldered, dark brown hair, grey eyes
Affiliation: Chemins de fer du Nord; Milton Salisbury; Factory (former)
Occupation: Engineer
Base of Operations: Paris
Random fact(s): He has quite the sweet tooth. His wife is a baker and won his heart through his stomach.
Background info: I got his surname “Thibault” from The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks, so I actually know how it’s meant to be pronounced for once! Yey. (It’s the protagonist’s name, and he always has to correct the pronunciation, so it comes up a lot.)
First appearance: The Countess, Travelling (Chapter 21)
----
Name: Theodore Sycamore
Nickname(s): Theo
Birthday: 1803
Age: 45
Physical description: tall, curly brown hair, dark brown eyes, wears red-rimmed glasses
Affiliation: Salisbury Trading
Occupation: Deputy Director
Base of Operations: London
Random fact(s): He’s very skittish and jumpy, but only when he’s not concentrating on work. If he is, he loses sight of his surroundings.
Background info: He’s named after Desmond Sycamore from the Professor Layton games. His first name is taken from there too. I was a bit on the fence whether I should give him that first name or nor because of Clifford and ultimately went for it. It’s not as if name overlaps are uncommon, and both characters are usually only called by their surnames anyway.
First appearance: The Countess, Destruction (Chapter 30); has not appeared in the present yet
----
Name: Daisy Freke
Nickname(s): None
Birthday: 1810s
Age: 30s
Physical description: light brown hair; wears dark glasses
Affiliation: Oscar Livingstone
Occupation: Maid/housekeeper; informant
Base of Operations: She and the others don’t live with Oscar but close-by in their own little house (they also never lived (full-time) at Livingstone Manor before)
Random fact(s): Ironically, she’s allergic to daisies. This is quite the problem because, due to her name, people often give her daisies.
Background info:
She and Oscar’s other servants are based on the three wise monkeys. She’s Mizaru, the “see no evil” monkey. (“Daisy” means “day eye.”)
In my notes, her surname was “O’Sullivan” for the longest time, as I struggled to find any eye-related surnames that I liked (and “O’Sullivan” means “descendant of Súileabhán (= “dark eye”)”). It was a placeholder name for obvious reasons, and I now decided to name her “Freke” after John Freke, the UK’s first eye surgeon. (I wanted her to have a “special” surname because her given name does not have a specific background unlike the others’.)
First appearance: The Countess, Faint and Low 5.0 (Chapter 20)
----
Name: Scott Moray
Nickname(s): None
Birthday: 1810s
Age: 30s (slightly younger than Daisy)
Physical description: red hair
Affiliation: Oscar Livingstone
Occupation: Coachman; informant
Base of Operations: He and the others don’t live with Oscar but close-by in their own little house (they also never lived (full-time) at Livingstone Manor before)
Random fact(s): He’s a cook too, but only for Daisy and Ishmael; he rarely cooks for Oscar.
Background info:
He and Oscar’s other servants are based on the three wise monkeys. He’s Iwazaru, the “speak no evil” monkey. His first name means “Gaelic speaker.” To fit his first name, I gave him a Scottish surname (though it has no special meaning).
His surname was briefly “Motters” before I changed it, however.
First appearance: The Countess, Faint and Low 5.0 (Chapter 20)
----
Name: Ishmael Greenberg
Nickname(s): None
Birthday: 1790s
Age: early 50s
Physical description: greying brown hair
Affiliation: Oscar Livingstone
Occupation: Footman; informant
Base of Operations: He and the others don’t live with Oscar but close-by in their own little house (they also never lived (full-time) at Livingstone Manor before)
Random fact(s): He likes singing a lot. Because he’s deaf, the sounds don’t come out “correctly” though, much to the pain of Daisy and Scott.
Background info: He and Oscar’s other servants are based on the three wise monkeys. He’s Kikazaru, the “hear no evil” monkey. “Ishmael” means “God will hear.” As that is a Hebrew surname, I gave him a Jewish surname.
First appearance: The Countess, Faint and Low 5.0 (Chapter 20)

Learning Activity 3.5 Task 2: "What has Influenced Me"
A large portion of my identity is owed towards the influences around my life, having been born male to Portuguese parents living in Brampton has fundamentally shaped my life into what it is today, I shall be discussing these cultural influences in my blog. A large part of my culture comes from heavily modernized western ideals. While my parents and grandparents keep the spirit of my Portuguese heritage alive by passing on tradition, language, cooking and general work ethic, it is without question that a majority of my identity has been assimilated into the social-norms that are present within more diverse public spaces such as school or work. An example present within my life would be food, while my parents try their hardest for authenticity and to keep tradition alive by making food endemic to their home country. Whether it's due to ingredients not present or simply a higher expense, there are many cases where using food and ingredients from the many assimilated cultures in Canada are necessary. Fashion is summed up due to consumerist and materialistic influences. Growing up in a western society has made the idea of artificial desire rather than necessity when it comes to fashion. The fashion that influences me is what is being marketed as what is fashionable at the time and the collectiveness of society has decided what is “normal” to wear. The rise of technology has had a great influence on both entertainment and the hobbies I enjoy. Internet culture is a lot more artificially constructed but still retains the idea and spirit of what culture is. Video games, vast arrays of music and online videos were all foreign commodities during my grandparents and even during my parents time but due to the interconnectedness of the internet where information is shared from all over the world, the influence potentiality is practically infinite, especially when I was younger where one video or song will dictate my taste. The anonymity of it all also made for opinions to be fresh without the influence of the societies that each member of this subculture came from. Architecture is not something I notice in my day to day life, but upon closer inspection coming from a very traditional household, décor was often very old-fashioned is my household as well as many allusions to Christianity due to coming from a predominantly catholic family. The architecture around my community is slowly shifting towards the modern age, while relics of the past still remain protected, the juxtaposition between modern and traditional architecture is a clear reflection of my identity being the struggle between traditional and modern culture that tugs at my identity. Overall I owe a large part of my influences to the rapid development of both technology and modernization of my community with some of my heritage playing a key role in my upbringing.

Anachronisms are fascinating elements that disrupt the chronological flow of time, bringing elements from different eras into a single context. These temporal oddities can manifest in various forms, from historical inaccuracies in literature and film to unexpected juxtapositions of technology and tradition.
In literature, anachronisms can be unintentional errors or deliberate artistic choices. Let's make an artistic choice.
In the bustling city of 2024, where holographic billboards painted the skyline with neon brilliance, Joe Joe found himself amidst a sea of self-driving cars and hoverboards.
One day, as he strolled down the hologram-lit streets of Tuscon Arizona, he couldn't help but feel like a fish in a tree. "This tech stuff is the cat's pajamas, but damn I miss the good ol' days," he mumbled to himself. Joe, a devotee of vintage vibes, sported a fedora over a Beatle wig and a pair of blue suede shoes that stuck out like a typewriter in a world of touchscreens.
His quirky expressions didn't go unnoticed. A hipster cafe owner named Loretta, who had a fondness for vinyl records and retro décor, overheard Joe talking about the "cat's pajamas" and couldn't help but be intrigued. "Where's the beef, my man?" she quipped, a sly smile playing on her lips.
Amused by the unexpected but welcome comeback, Joe chuckled. "Well, darlin', the beef is right here in this dirty new city But sometimes, I miss the beat of yesterday when our troubles seemed so far away and wanna get back to where I once belonged.
Loretta with her rainbow-colored hair and a peace sign necklace, felt an instant connection. "You know, we've got this place a few blocks down. It's a haven for those who dig the past. Peace, love, and a killer jukebox spinning 45s. You might just find your groove there."
Checking out Loretta's mini-skirt, textured stockings and long legs, Joe figured out that her boots were made for walking and she knew how to use her legs.
Intrigued, Joe followed Loretta to the "cafe", stepping through a green door and bamboo curtains to find what he had been looking for. The aroma of fresh coffee mingled with the crackling sound of vinyl records. "This place is the bee's knees!" Jake exclaimed, taking in the retro ambiance.
As the two chatted over cups of artisanal coffee, Joe couldn't help but feel a sense of belonging. The cigarette machine in the corner and the jukebox playing Gene Vincent classics made him feel right at home. Loretta sharing stories of her love for all things vintage, resonated with Joe's sentiment.
"You know what, Loretta? This spot is truly something else. Feels like a step back in time," Joe remarked, sipping his coffee from a mug adorned with retro patterns.
Loretta grinned, her eyes reflecting the soft glow of the neon signs. "Glad you think so, Joe. It's all about creating a haven for strangers who grok the classics."
Feeling a sudden sweet tooth craving, Joe decided to go all out. "How about making it a real blast from the past? I'll take a banana split, extra cherries on top!"
Mia chuckled, "A banana split, huh? Now, that's a choice I can get behind. Make that two, Jazz my man. Sock it to me."
Jasper Febrey said "oh yeah" and split to whip up the splits.
Jasper Febrey's inspiration to start "TimeWarp Brews & Bites" stemmed from a deep appreciation for the charm and character of eras gone by. Growing up surrounded by his grandparents' stories, their album and 45 collection plus classic movies on VHS Jasper developed a fascination for the aesthetics, music, and culture of the past. Jazz liked to rock.
As he stumbled into adulthood and the trust fund matured. Jazz noticed a longing for nostalgia among people in the fast-paced, technologically advanced world of 2054. Recognizing the power of blending the old with the new, Jasper imagined a place where cats and chicks could escape the hustle and bustle of contemporary life and immerse themselves in the timeless allure of bygone decades.
Jasper's passion for creating a space that harmoniously brought together the best of different eras led to the birth of "TimeWarp Brews & Bites." His love for retro aesthetics, coupled with a desire to share the joy of half-forgotten times, inspired him to create a joint where patrons could enjoy not only delicious treats but also the ambiance, spirit and vibes of a journey through time.
As Joe indulged in his banana split, the vibrant colors of the ice cream scoops contrasted with the sepia-toned nostalgia of the cafe. The Ginsberg on his typewriter in the corner tapped out a rhythm that harmonized with the jukebox, creating a symphony of eras colliding.
Jukeboxes in 2054 had been replaced by Holihuulias. You swiped your card and a hologram of the performer took the "stage" and performed whatever you chose. A new feature had been added. The hologram would perform a brand new song that you had created with AI after you had swiped your card.
At TWBandB, Jazz still had a Wurlitzer. Joe slipped a coin right into the slot. He chose Rip it Up, I Wanna be Sedated, Get Back and Be Bop A Lula. Inside the juke, a mechanical arm would pick up the chosen record, remove it from its carousel and placed the selected 45 RPM platter on the turntable which rotated allowing the needle to make contact with the grooves in the record and the sound was amplified through the speakers of the jukebox. After Rip it Up the mechanical arm returned it to its place in the carousel and picked out the the Ramones
Following Gene Vincent, Petula Clark started in on Downtown. Loretta and Joe no longer down nor lonely hit the floor and jerked until Chubby came on the Wurlitzer and they twisted and then they twisted again like last summer.
Jazz slipped a coin into the slot and Wonderland by Night started playing. Joe asked Loretta if she wanted to dance. She looked in his eyes and nodded. He brought her in. She put her hand behind his neck. He put both his hands behind her back. He whiffed her Ambush perfume and she his English Leather.
When Wonderland ended, they gently kissed. It seemed like they had done this before but neither could remember where or when.
Perfect
They said goodbye.
"See ya later, alligator" Loretta whispered.
"After while, crocodile, Joe responded.
As they hit the street heading in opposite directions, Joe turned to watch her go. Loretta turned as well.
"We'll meet again Don't know where, don't know when...." Joe predicted.
"I know we'll meet again, some sunny day", Loretta agreed.
They knew they would and they did.
They were where they belonged.
The selected record was placed on the turntable.
The turntable then rotated, allowing the needle (stylus) to make contact with the grooves of the record.
The amplified sound was then played through the jukebox's speakers for everyone in the vicinity to hear.
Return and Rest:
After the selected song finished playing, the mechanical components would return the record to its storage location.
The jukebox was then ready for the next selection.
Inside the jukebox, a mechanical system would engage, moving the selected record from its storage location to the turntable.
The jukebox typically held a carousel or magazine with a collection of records, and a mechanical arm or gripper would pick up the chosen record.
In 1965, the most popular jukeboxes were typically produced by well-known manufacturers that dominated the market during that era. Some of the prominent jukebox manufacturers of the time included:
Wurlitzer: Wurlitzer was one of the most iconic jukebox manufacturers in the 1960s. They were known for their stylish designs and vibrant lights. The Wurlitzer 2800 and 2600 are examples of models from around that time.
Seeburg: Seeburg was another major player in the jukebox industry. Their models were recognized for their sleek, modern designs. The Seeburg LPC1 and SPS160 are examples of popular models in the mid-1960s.
Rock-Ola: Rock-Ola was known for producing high-quality jukeboxes with a focus on both form and function. The Rock-Ola 434 and 435 are examples of models from the mid-1960s.
AMI (Automatic Musical Instruments): AMI was a significant jukebox manufacturer, and their models were known for their distinctive styling. The AMI Continental 2 and AMI K are examples of popular models around 1965.
Jukeboxes during this time often featured colorful lights, chrome accents, and a variety of song selections, reflecting the vibrant and dynamic music scene of the 1960s. Keep in mind that the popularity of specific models could vary regionally and among different establishments.

Wurlitzer jukeboxes, like those from other manufacturers, worked through a combination of mechanical and electrical components. Here's a simplified explanation of how a Wurlitzer jukebox typically worked:
Song Selection:
Users would approach the jukebox and browse through a catalog or display of available songs.
Each song in the catalog corresponded to a specific location on the jukebox, usually identified by a combination of numbers and letters.
Coin Insertion:
To select and play a song, users needed to insert the required amount of coins into the jukebox.
The cost per song was predetermined by the establishment or the jukebox owner.
Mechanical Selection System:
After coins were inserted, the user made their song selection by pressing the corresponding buttons or keys on the jukebox, indicating the desired song's location.
Record Retrieval:
Inside the jukebox, a mechanical system would engage, moving the selected record from its storage location to the turntable.
The jukebox typically held a carousel or magazine with a collection of records, and a mechanical arm or gripper would pick up the chosen record.
Turntable and Playback:
The selected record was placed on the turntable.
The turntable then rotated, allowing the needle (stylus) to make contact with the grooves of the record.
The amplified sound was then played through the jukebox's speakers for everyone in the vicinity to hear.
Return and Rest:
After the selected song finished playing, the mechanical components would return the record to its storage location.
The jukebox was then ready for the next selection.
Wurlitzer and other jukebox manufacturers incorporated various technologies and improvements over the years, but the basic mechanism of record selection, retrieval, playback, and return remained consistent. With advancements in technology, jukeboxes eventually transitioned from vinyl records to other media formats like CDs and digital files, but the core principles of song selection and playback remained similar.

"Joe, you sure know how to pick a dessert " Loretta teased, a playful twinkle in her eye as she adjusted the hem of her mini skirt.
Joe chuckled, running a hand through his Beatle-esque hair. "Well, Mia, if we're going for a blast from the past, might as well go all the way. The Beatles had it right – a little bit of nostalgia goes a long way."
The jukebox, seemingly inspired by the conversation, switched to a classic Beatles tune, filling the air with the iconic sounds of the '60s. Mia couldn't resist tapping her foot to the beat, her knee-high boots adding a rhythm of their own.
As they continued to chat, sharing stories and laughter, the cafe became a sanctuary where the flavors of the past merged seamlessly with the technology-driven present. In that quaint space, surrounded by the eclectic mix of old and new, Jake realized that sometimes, the most beautiful moments are the ones where different eras collide, creating a tapestry of memories that transcend time itself.
As the evening unfolded, Mia bid Jake farewell with a wink and a classic sign-off, "Peace, love, out!" Jake, walking back into the neon-lit city streets, couldn't shake off the feeling that sometimes, amidst the dazzling advancements of 2024, the past still had its own timeless charm. And with a swish of his blue suede shoes, he embraced the fusion of the old and the new in this ever-evolving metropolis.
However, deliberate anachronisms can be employed as a narrative device. Writers may use them to draw parallels between different historical periods, highlighting similarities or ironies. For instance, a story set in ancient Rome might feature characters grappling with issues that mirror modern societal dilemmas, emphasizing the timeless nature of certain human experiences.
In the realm of cinema, anachronisms can be unintentional production errors or intentional stylistic choices. For instance, a film set in the Victorian era might accidentally showcase a modern car passing in the background. On the other hand, filmmakers may purposely incorporate anachronisms to infuse a historical setting with contemporary flair, creating a unique and visually striking atmosphere.
Anachronisms are not confined to the world of storytelling; they also find their way into art and technology. Consider a steampunk-inspired creation that blends Victorian aesthetics with futuristic technology. This deliberate mixing of eras results in a visually captivating anachronism, challenging our expectations and prompting us to reconsider the boundaries of time and creativity.
In everyday life, anachronisms can be humorous or thought-provoking. Picture a person dressed in period-accurate clothing from the 18th century, casually browsing a tablet in a coffee shop. This juxtaposition of historical attire and modern technology is a playful way of challenging societal norms and expectations.
The study of anachronisms provides insights into how societies perceive and interpret time. They remind us that history is not a static, linear progression but a dynamic tapestry where elements from different epochs coexist, collide, and influence one another. Anachronisms, whether intentional or inadvertent, invite us to explore the boundaries of temporal imagination, encouraging a deeper understanding of the interconnected nature of human experience across time.

In the bustling city of 2024, where holographic billboards painted the skyline with neon brilliance, Jake found himself amidst a sea of self-driving cars and hoverboards. He was an old soul navigating a futuristic world, often using phrases that seemed like relics of a bygone era.
One day, as he strolled down the hologram-lit streets, he couldn't help but feel like a fish out of water. "This tech stuff is the cat's pajamas, but sometimes I miss the good ol' days," he mumbled to himself. Jake, a devotee of vintage vibes, sported a fedora and a pair of blue suede shoes that stuck out like a typewriter in a world of touchscreens.
His quirky expressions didn't go unnoticed. A hipster cafe owner named Mia, who had a fondness for vinyl records and retro décor, overheard Jake talking about the "cat's pajamas" and couldn't help but be intrigued. "Where's the beef, my man?" she quipped, a sly smile playing on her lips.
Amused by the unexpected throwback, Jake chuckled. "Well, darlin', the beef is right here in this city of the future. But sometimes, I miss the simplicity of yesteryear."
Mia, with her rainbow-colored hair and a peace sign necklace, felt an instant connection. "You know, we've got this place a few blocks down. It's a haven for those who dig the past. Peace, love, and a killer jukebox. You might just find your groove there."
Intrigued, Jake followed Mia to her cafe, stepping through the door to find a haven of nostalgia. The aroma of fresh coffee mingled with the crackling sound of vinyl records. "This place is the bee's knees!" Jake exclaimed, taking in the retro ambiance.
As the two chatted over cups of artisanal coffee, Jake couldn't help but feel a sense of belonging. The typewriter in the corner and the jukebox playing Elvis classics made him feel right at home. Mia, sharing stories of her love for all things vintage, resonated with Jake's sentiment.

Feeling a sudden sweet tooth craving, Jake decided to go all out. "How about making it a real blast from the past? I'll take a banana split, extra cherries on top!"
Mia chuckled, "A banana split, huh? Now, that's a choice I can get behind. Coming right up, my man."
As Jake indulged in his banana split, the vibrant colors of the ice cream scoops contrasted with the sepia-toned nostalgia of the cafe. The typewriter in the corner seemed to tap out a rhythm that harmonized with the jukebox, creating a symphony of eras colliding.

Enhance Socializing With Open and Inviting Kitchen Renovation Ideas
When family and friends come over, your confined kitchen can make the gathering feel awkward. A rework can transform it into an open-concept design that can host everyone from kids to grandparents comfortably.
Consider removing non-load-bearing walls that divide your kitchen from the dining or living room. This will give you a space that is ideal for spending quality time with loved ones!
Create a Breakfast Nook
If you’ve double-tapped photos of breakfast nooks on Instagram but thought that adding a dining area to your kitchen would require a pricey renovation, think again. Creating a cozy eating space can be done by tucking a table and chairs into an empty corner or utilizing an existing bay window.
Small breakfast nooks work best in spaces adjacent to your kitchen, where diners can easily keep out of the cook’s way and enjoy conversation over coffee or casual meals. Use a neutral color palette to create an open and airy look, or add eye-catching wallpaper for drama.
If you’re a fan of artisanal interior design, try mixing vintage pieces with modern furniture for a one-of-a-kind style. Textural accent walls can also add dimension to a breakfast nook, creating a sense of depth and making your space feel larger.
Add a Bar or Drink Cart
When guests arrive, a bar or drink cart makes it easy for them to grab drinks and snacks without getting in your cook’s way. You can create one by adding a freestanding shelf to your kitchen that houses drinkware, food items, and coffee essentials. This is especially beneficial in smaller homes where a full kitchen island isn’t feasible.
If you have the space, a cozy banquette can be a nice spot to sit and talk with family or friends. It will also make the room feel complete and integrated into the rest of your home.
When selecting materials for your new kitchen, consider ones that are durable and will stand up to wear and tear from family members and guests. Quartz and granite countertops are ideal because they can withstand spills and other abuse.
Maximize the Use of Natural Light
Having an open floor plan allows natural light to flow throughout the kitchen. This helps brighten up the space and creates a more inviting atmosphere.
Using mirrors in your kitchen can also amplify natural light. By reflecting it around the room, it will help brighten the space and make it feel bigger. If you have a window that provides natural light, consider placing a mirror directly opposite it. This will brighten up the area and add a nice contrast to your kitchen décor.
An open-concept kitchen means guests can move from the living room to the kitchen and back again without feeling like they’re missing out on family conversations or having to rush through dinner. For homeowners looking to transform their kitchen into an open and inviting space, this can be a great option.
Create a Cozy Dining Bench
Depending on the style you select, a dining bench can make an instant seating upgrade for a casual dining room. For a modern look, choose one with sleek organic curves and minimal ornamentation for an understated silhouette that pairs well with simple chairs.
A backless bench is more versatile as it can be tucked under the table when not in use. For a more traditional design, choose a wood bench that pairs with your wooden table.
In this combined kitchen and living space, a custom L-shaped banquette creates a cozy spot for family meals. A white dining bench adds a bright touch to the room and complements the color of the table.

Frequently Asked Questions
What colour goes best with a white kitchen?
A white kitchen can look amazing in different colours. However, walnut looks best with it. The space will feel warm and inviting thanks to its natural wood tones. These two colors will complement each others well. If you are looking for something subtler, black and gray are good options. You can also choose bright colours like yellow and red if you are looking to make an impact. Whatever your preference, make sure to tie in your decor with it so that the space looks cohesive.
Are you able to put flooring underneath kitchen appliances?
You can’t ignore the importance of putting flooring under kitchen appliances. By doing this, you can make sure your countertop is at the proper height.
What place should pots and saucepans be in the kitchen?
Pots and saucepans should be stored in the cupboard directly above the stove. This makes them easily accessible when you need them and keeps your kitchen counters looking clean and uncluttered. To help organize your pots, you might also consider investing in a pot rack.
What should I consider first when remodelling my kitchen?
There’s no one answer to this question since everyone’s priorities and budget will differ. You need to think about the layout of your room, the appliances you are looking for, the style of countertops and cabinets you like, and the storage needs that you may have.
After you’ve chosen your must-haves you can take a look at other kitchen designs to get an idea of the options. It’s a good idea to start with big-ticket items such as appliances and cabinets and then add the details like paint colours or light fixtures if you have a tight budget.
It is important to take things one by one so that your kitchen remodel goes exactly as you planned.
What is the most functional kitchen layout?
An island is the best kitchen layout. It can be equipped with a stove, refrigerator, microwave, sink and dishwasher. An island-shaped layout is best for kitchen design.
Where do I start when planning a kitchen?
There are many choices, no matter if you’re renovating an existing space, or building a dream kitchen.
Before you start, take some time to look online for inspiration. Look for photos of kitchens that inspire you. Make notes about design ideas. Take some time to write down your ideas and then sit down with a pen.
Think about what you could do to improve these spaces. What could you make better? What would you add? Ask someone who is an expert in your field to help you get creative.
Once you have a clear idea of what you want, it is time to get started. Start with the basics. Get rid of any extra clutter. Don’t keep appliances that aren’t being used frequently. Replace old fixtures with newer models.
Next, take a look at areas of your kitchen that are too small. This is where storage or countertops are not possible. Think about how you can maximize those spots. They could become wine cellars or pantries.
Make sure to think about lighting. Are there any areas that could use a brighter light source? A wall sconce may be able to brighten dark corners.
After you’ve made your improvements list, it’s time to implement them!
You don’t have to know everything right away. Just keep working until you’ve got it all figured out. Don’t forget to enjoy it every day!
What’s a realistic budget for kitchen remodeling in Metro Vancouver
$50,000 is a realistic budget for a kitchen remodel in Metro Vancouver. This would cover new appliances, countertops, cabinets, flooring, and lighting.
