Decided to condense what I have so far for my Grand Theft Auto/Crazy Taxi crossover AU... so here it is! go girls go! 🎀🐩🍨💕💐
Don't Talk To Me Unless I've had My Morning Cup of Big City Crime!
Gus owns a taxi depot in SA and hires a few guys (Gina Axel Joe). maybe sometimes he makes some side income taking 'hot' calls (he plays getaway-driver-for-hire and makes a little extra cash on the dl and makes a lot cos he drives crazy)
cos in Gus' lore or whatever in the og arcade game, he starts driving Crazy Taxis (haha) cos ppl tip him more when he drove fucked up and fast. Then he got more crazy ass drivers to join his gang/business.
According to Axel's background, he's been a fan of crazy taxi style driving since he was a kid. Like says he was born in a taxi, etc. I think it would just be so funny and cute if in this AU he always heard of the crazy cabbies who drove as getaway drivers for the right price... seeing some of the chases online and the odd sighting in person....
In game canon, Axel also claims to have been born in a cab, that's how much he loves being a cabbie. Take that for what you will??
Axel is the newest cabbie right. He doesn't show up for calls and doesn't seem to be at the depot much. He's straight up pulling small time jobs rather than work, like robbing gas stations and boosting cars.. until Gus one day gets a hot call at some pharmacy or store, and when he picks up his eh, Client....
IT'S AXEL!!! It'd be more of a Spiderman pointing moment if Gus wasn't so pissed at this fag twink for losing him fares ajskf. This legend is his oldfuck boss who hates him because Axel is a slacker LOL
After they barely get away w their lives, screaming down the Senora Fwy and all the way into the grand senora desert they get into a huge fucking argument over Axel's work ethic and maybe he'd almost be getting his severance package as a punch to the teeth...!! If he wasn't as excited as a kid meeting Batman about his boss maybe being THEE coolest cabbie there ever was to drive a shitbox for minimum wage.
Cabbie Info
Gena and Joe are like ok whatever dude. We don't care what our boss does in his free time. They're friends in and outside of work, despite their deoffefenr social circles. But both of them have the mentality of "I just wanna get paid and do my job to the minimum." But you knowwwww...
Gena is trans and mostly cares about tuning up her car for the underground LS car meets and is roommates w Cinnamon from Crazy Taxi 2 (somewhere in Murietta Heights/Mirror Park). She LIVES to work on her car and someday wants to own her own garage. All her paycheque that isn't sucked to rent or her medication goes to her ride. She could really use the money to fund her little dream...
Joe is an average guy who's a bit of a favourite with the few regulars Gus has. He's easy to talk to, rolls with the punches, and thinks of himself as being pretty funny. He lives in the Vespucci Beach area in an apartment by himself, and when he's not working, he's doing DJ sets at the clubs around LS. He's always on the pulse of what's hot in the club scene and has a few friends in interesting places, being a niche social media micro celebrity. Joe can often be seen in the VIP booth at the most elite clubs with his friends Bixbite (Crazy Taxi 3) and Iceman (Crazy Taxi 2). The thought of getting insane clout from this crazy side hustle and being the first on a new trend is really interesting to him...

“ they are welcome to try. ”
“ the use of irish as an adjective is very provoking. ”
“ i would beat you to death. ”
“ i’d take your knife from you, cut off your balls and stir them into a bloody mary. ”
“ there. that was me pulling a knife. ”
“ no-one can bear undeclared grief. ”
“ do you remember collapsing? ”
“ you stood on the table and told everyone you loved me. ”
“ dear god. love? now i do apologize. must’ve been the whisky. ”
“ if that is rather odd, i’d hate to see very odd. ”
“ he thinks too much. such men are dangerous. ”
“ no-one knows anyone. ”

“ you’d just rather play the renegade. ”
“ there is no time to be unambitious. ”
“ you don’t know who might be listening to you. ”
“ you need to look defeated. ”
“ we don’t want to draw attention to ourselves. ”
“ this is where we split up. ”
“ we’ve been betrayed. ”
“ yes well, vodka does uh, it does make some poor decisions. ”

“ now the blood will flow. ”

The Atlus leaker who correctly announced the recent Persona games and remake has taken to X to talk a little about SEGA’s upcoming Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio games. The leaker says that both games are games as a service games much like Fortnite with live events and special collaborations etc. That’s not all, as both Jet Set Radio and Crazy Taxi games will also get dedicated remakes as well as the reboots. SEGA is said to be looking at both Grand Theft Auto V Online and Fortnite for inspiration. Hopefully SEGA will reveal more soon.

Fun Fact about That's Life II!
Ignore some objects being out of place, it's a weird thing with the engine they used and the level viewer it comes with, I already had to fix the van and the sedan to get this better to look at.
On the ground floor of the shopping center was a little street that you could look onto when you got tired of the uncanny looking sims that populated it, and on the street are several vehicles populating the street to make it look like there's something resembling life out there
Those vehicles are stolen models from Grand Theft Auto III.
The van is a mutilated version of the Pony, and the 4-door sedan (which is recycled and recolored several times) is a modified Taxi.
The sedan even still has the planes for the decals present in Grand Theft Auto III.
So yeah in a pack comprised entirely of stolen custom content there are also 3D models stolen from one of the biggest games of the previous year. That should not be surprising at all, and yet somehow it is.
#research#ts1#thats life ii#thanks to my friend penguinsushi/mrpenguinb for sending a video of gameplay bc i couldnt ever get the frickin game to work

My Gaming Story
So here we are my next blog and after I did "My Apple Story" I thought it was only fitting that I did "My Gaming Story" You see gaming has played a big role in my life. I really don't know what I'd do without it. It's not simply a hobby it's a lifestyle. Sooo here we go! 1995-2000
Well, it all began in the mid-90s. I started my gaming life in 1995. It started on the PlayStation one. I played so many classics like Crazy Taxi, Gran Turismo, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Tomb Raider, Metal Gear, Tekken, Croc and Grand Theft Auto. Just to name a few. Trust me if I started listing each and every PS1 game we would be here all day.
Also had a Nintendo 64 and a few handheld game consoles too such as the Grandstand Galaxy invader 1000. I also owned the original Nintendo Gameboy.
2000-2009
As the new millennium began I got a hold of a Playstation 2 and oh my how I played that thing. I am honestly surprised looking back it never broke once. Truly a remarkable console it never let me down once. Just like the PS1 if I took the time to list all of my PS2 games we would be here all day. You name the game I probably played it once or twice. I had far too many games In all truth there were only about twenty-five I mainly played.
Some of my games really made an impression on me which I still talk about to this day. One of those games was "Grand Theft Auto Vice City" was such a memorable game, everything about that game I loved. Or some games I'd played just freaked me out for some bizarre reason. Like for example I played the game Harry Potter Chamber Of Secrets on PS2 and there was a mission where I had to do something in the Hogwarts Libary. I don't recall what it was but something about that really freaked me out where I couldn't pass it no matter what I did. Foolish looking back but hey. I never did complete it.
Around 2003 I was given something called the N-Gage which is a handheld gaming device and a phone all in one. I never really got along with it. I also got given the Nintendo GameBoy Advance SP but for most of the early 2000s, I played the PS2. Somewhere in 2006 or 2007, my Mother bought me the PSP the handheld PlayStation of the time.
2008-2014
So as the years rolled on into 2008. I was given a PS3 and oh my I loved that device. I spend HOURS on end playing their social game called PSHome it was so far ahead of its time. It was a bonus that it was free. I was deeply saddened to hear when they closed it down in 2015. I guess nothing lasts forever eh? PlayStation Home launched as an open beta in December 2008 and was a 3D social gaming platform that PS3 owners could use to interact with other players and visit various themed areas.
A year later in 2009, my Grandmother thought it was a good idea to buy me the Xbox 360 and with that, it crossed me over from PlayStation.
I am very happy to say I have never looked back. I have many fond memories of my Xbox 360. So so so many games too. Halo 3, Grand Theft Auto IV, Blur, Minecraft, Crackdown, Mirrors Edge, Call Of Duty World At War. That's just a few to give you an idea of what I am on about.
2014-2023
Then in 2014, I decided to get the next generation of Xbox. The Xbox One. Well, I must say that was an upgrade to my by this point old Xbox 360. Like before I played that a great deal also. In 2019, I got myself the Xbox One S 1TB. I didn't have it that long. Two years in fact. Before I got myself the new Xbox Series X which really is a powerful console.
I play games nowadays like Microsoft Flight Simulator or GTA V. My girlfriend recently bought me a Nintendo Switch OLED. It is truly a brilliant handheld device.
Which has sparked my old Mario and Donkey Kong interest. I still love them dearly So there you have it "My Gaming Story" Any questions. Use the ask me anything button on my homepage.
PEACE!

Doesn't Grand Theft Auto do that? You can get on a train and just chill while looking out the window. Can do it in taxis too but they're a bit more risky due to npc ai
I am BEGGING for an open-world game with a functioning train or tram.
Like, you actually have to wait for it in real-time, physically step on, then wait for your stop with the ability to actually explore it and chat with the other riders
No loading screens
And when you aren’t on it, you can look over and see it doing its route without you, picking up and dropping off patrons whether you’re there or not
please i need a video game that captures the joy of free public transit

What are the most significant legal issues relating to theft?
The Legal Complexities of Theft: Understanding the Challenges and Future Solutions
Theft is a broad and intricate crime that includes various forms of stealing, each with unique legal challenges. These challenges include defining the crime, classifying its different types, and determining appropriate penalties. Here's an overview:
1. Definition and Intent
Theft involves taking someone else's property without their permission, with the intent to permanently deprive them of it. The key factor here is intent, which differentiates theft from actions such as borrowing or mistakenly taking an item. For example, if someone takes an item by mistake but returns it right away, it is not considered theft.
2. Types of Theft
The law distinguishes several forms of theft:
Petty Theft: Involves low-value items and is typically charged as a misdemeanor.
Grand Theft: Involves higher-value items, often leading to felony charges.
Robbery: Theft that involves force or threats of violence.
Burglary: The unlawful entry into a property with the intent to commit a crime.
Embezzlement: The misappropriation of funds by someone entrusted with them.
3. Property Rights
Determining ownership and possession can lead to legal complications. For example, if someone borrows an item and decides to keep it, it may legally be considered theft. A well-known case, Lawrence v. MPC (1972), illustrates this when a taxi driver took more money than agreed after a ride. The court ruled this as theft, even though the initial transaction was consensual.
4. Penalties and Sentencing
The penalties for theft depend on the value of the stolen property and the circumstances. Sentencing can range from fines and restitution to long prison terms. In the case of Oxford v. Moss (1979), a student copied an exam paper but returned it. The court ruled that information couldn’t be stolen, setting a precedent for intellectual property laws.
Examples of Theft Cases
Lawrence v. MPC (1972): A taxi driver demanded more than the agreed fare. The court ruled that the driver committed theft.
Oxford v. Moss (1979): A student took an exam paper, copied the questions, and returned it. The court decided that information wasn’t considered theft.
Gopinath Naik v. State: A man took his car from a repair shop without paying. The court ruled this as theft, as the car was in the repairer’s possession.
Futuristic Approaches to Combat Theft
As technology continues to evolve, new tools to prevent theft are emerging. Here are some futuristic solutions:
Artificial Intelligence (AI): AI can prevent theft by analyzing customer behavior, detecting patterns, and identifying suspicious activities in real-time. AI-powered computer vision systems can spot behaviors like lingering near restricted areas or bypassing checkout points.
Zero-Trust Architecture: In cybersecurity, zero-trust architecture ensures that only authorized individuals can access sensitive information or physical assets. This approach could also be applied to physical security, providing an additional layer of protection to prevent theft in both businesses and homes.
Generative AI: By analyzing large datasets, generative AI can identify patterns of fraud and anomalies in real time. It adapts to new forms of theft, reducing false positives and improving the efficiency of fraud detection.
As technology becomes increasingly integrated into everyday life, the legal challenges surrounding theft are evolving. Laws are adjusting to new types of theft, particularly digital theft, and innovations like AI and zero-trust systems are expected to play a critical role in theft prevention and detection.

RJ's Platinum Collection #20: Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
Achieved on 2/18/2023 at 9:01 PM
I had never really had an interest in playing any of the Grand Theft Auto games when I was growing up. I enjoyed watching Lets Play channels do videos about GTA, but I didn't ever feel the need to play it myself. However, I discovered that Vice City would no longer be available on the PS Plus collection after February, so I decided "why not?" and decided to give my first Grand Theft Auto game a spin.
In Vice City, you play as Tommy Vercetti, a gang member who is released from prison and sent to the eponymous city to oversee a drug deal. However, the deal goes south, and Tommy gets the blame, and now has to replace all the money that got lost before his boss Sonny flies down to put a bullet between his eyes. Your goal as Tommy is to become the new kingpin of Vice City and make that sweet sweet moolah.
I started off my platinum journey by going through the main story missions. There are a total of 38 missions you need to complete to finish the story, and you start off at the bottom of the food chain completing missions for the local king Ricardo Diaz. I played these up until the point where I was able to betray Diaz and take over his operation, while also making sure to not miss trophies for completing certain missions in certain ways. I also got the trophies for completing the Paramedic and Taxi challenges.
1/34: Legal Counsel - Complete the "Riot" mission.
2/34: Iron-y - Kill the property developer with a golf club during the mission "Four Iron".
3/34: Chopper'd Up - Kill all hostile NPC's during the mission "Demolition Man" using the RC chopper's blades.
4/34: Greasy Palms - Use a police bribe to reduce your wanted level.
5/34: South American Connection - Complete the "Supply & Demand" mission.
6/34: Somebody Call the Wambulance? - Complete Paramedic mission Level 12.
7/34: Life of the Party - Complete the "All Hands On Deck" mission.
8/34: Point A to Point B - Drop off 25 passengers driving the taxi.
9/34: Salutations My Little Friend - Use the M4 to take out Diaz during the mission "Rub Out".
With Diaz dead and Tommy in charge, I decided to spend some time screwing around and ended up getting my first six-star wanted level, which netted me a trophy.
10/34: Catch Me if You Can - Achieve a six-star wanted level.
I also decided to get the Pizza Delivery challenge completed, which got me another trophy. Side note, you need to deliver MORE than 10 pizzas in order to 100% the game, but for the trophy you only need to deliver ten.
11/34: Pie Guy - Deliver 10 pizzas.
After some more mischief, I returned to doing the story missions, completing Tommy's mission line and the mission lines for the biker gang and the Love Tap band that Tommy becomes the manager of for some reason.
12/34: Tommy Two-Wheels - Complete the "Hog Tied" mission.
13/34: Chauffeur - Complete the "Publicity Tour" mission.
I then decided to tackle a challenge I wanted to get over with quickly, and that was finding all 100 hidden collectibles around the map. This took me a long time, even using a guide, but I was eventually able to find all 100.
14/34: City Sleuth - Find 100 hidden packages.
I then continued working on story missions for the Cubans and Haitians, eventually completing those storylines while also getting a couple miscellaneous trophies.
15/34: Bull in a China Shop - Cause $1,000,000 in property damage.
16/34: Keepie-Uppy Okie Dokie - Earn a high score of 5 with the Keepie-Uppy Beach Ball.
17/34: Big Heat from Little Havana - Complete the "Trojan Voodoo" mission.
From this point on, I had managed to complete all but the final main story mission, but I decided I wanted to 100% the game before I played it. So I began working on all of the side missions that you needed to 100% Vice City, getting multiple trophies along the way.
18/34: Vice City Mogul - Own 10 properties.
19/34: Gun For Hire - Complete all assassination contracts.
20/34: Don't Need Roads - Hit max speed in a Deluxo.
21/34: Grand Theft Auto - Retrieve every wanted vehicle at Sunshine Autos Import Garage.
22/34: Bloodstained Hands - Earn the Butcher criminal rating.
23/34: Not My First Time - Complete mission "G-Spotlight" without falling from the rooftops.
24/34: Just Like The Real Thing - Win the RC Bandit Race.
25/34: I'm Famous! - Earn the Stuff of Legends media attention rank.
26/34: One Is Better Than Two - Perform a 30-second wheelie.
27/34: Daredevil - Complete 36 unique stunt jumps.
28/34: High Quality H20 - Extinguish 10 fires.
One of the last side challenges I did was the Vigilante challenge, which is where you drive around in a vehicle and hunt down criminals to kill. Kinda hypocritical of you there, Tommy, but whatever. I had actually tried this challenge early in my playthrough, but all I had access to was a police car. I was unable to even get to Level 3, so I waited until I had unlocked the military tank. The tank is almost impossible to destroy, so I was able to quickly rake up the vigilante kills until I got the trophy.
29/34: Running Rampant - Complete Vigilante mission Level 12.
After completing the Vigilante mission, I decided to get one last miscellaneous trophy out of the way, which was for listening to each music station on the radio for an entire song and commercial break. I somehow hadn't done that for the entire 30+ hours I put into the game, so I just parked a car on the beach and listened to tunes.
30/34: Born In The 80's - Listen to all music stations at least once.
I actually had a ton of missions and side challenges to do that had no trophies associated with them. They were all kind of annoying and difficult, but I was eventually able to finish them and get 100% completion of the game.
31/34: Done It All - Earn 100% completion.
And then I played the final story mission, where Tommy and his gang fight off Bobby and his forces and finally becomes the one and only kingpin of Vice City.
32/34: Mischief Managed - Complete the "Keep Your Friends Close..." mission.
But wait! I got 100% of the game. Shouldn't I have the platinum?
Nope. Because I still needed to get my criminal rating up to "Godfather", which requires about 100,000 criminal points. Despite beating the game completely, I was quite below that. Luckily, there is a sneaky trick you can use to get up to 100,000 criminal points with no problem!
There is a mission called "Cone Crazy" where you have to drive around cones without knocking any over within a time limit. The trick is you can redo this mission multiple times, and if you can complete it one second faster each time, you'll start earning an outrageous amount of cash. You can literally earn up to 150,000,000 dollars, easily bringing you up to Godfather rating in less than 30 minutes!
33/34: Take The Cannoli - Earn the Godfather criminal rating.
And once I was able to do that, I got the platinum trophy!
34/34: Kingpin - Unlock all trophies.
I had so much fun playing this game. The platinum is very rewarding, and I am DEFINITELY going to be trying out other Grand Theft Auto games in the future!
Rating: 10/10

Scams in Istanbul: My Experience & Tips to Stay Safe
By Khurram Iqbal
youtube
Istanbul, a city steeped in rich history, captivating culture, and vibrant life, is a magnet for millions of tourists every year. While the city offers a treasure trove of experiences from the Blue Mosque to the Grand Bazaar, it also hides a darker side. Tourists, including myself, often fall prey to cunning scams, thievery, and other forms of opportunistic crime. This blog will explore common scams in Istanbul, compare it to similar issues in other cities, and provide insights into how to stay safe while enjoying the wonders of this cosmopolitan hub.
Crime in Istanbul: An Overview
Istanbul attracts over 12 million tourists annually (source), but with this influx of visitors, the city has also become a target for opportunistic crimes. Although violent crime remains relatively low, theft, fraud, and scams are frequent issues. According to recent statistics, thefts from residences and workplaces decreased in 2021, but fraud cases saw a significant rise, reaching over 10,000 (source).
Petty crimes such as pickpocketing, bag snatching, and scams like taxi fraud are common in high-tourist areas like Taksim Square, the Grand Bazaar, and Sultanahmet. Like I have personally experienced, travelers often report being swindled by taxi drivers or conned by seemingly friendly locals offering unsolicited services (source) (source).

Common Scams and Thefts Targeting Tourists
Taxi Scams: One of the most frequent complaints from tourists, including myself, is being overcharged by taxi drivers. Scams range from rigged meters that jump excessively, to drivers refusing to use the meter and demanding inflated prices. Some drivers even swap large bills for smaller denominations and claim tourists paid less than they did (source). In one incident, Japanese tourists were forced to hand over their credit cards and were scammed out of large sums of money (source).
Pickpocketing and Theft: High-density tourist areas like the Spice Bazaar and Istiklal Street are hotspots for pickpockets. My nephew and niece lost their valuable camera in a matter of seconds, which mirrors countless reports from tourists who find their valuables stolen when they are distracted (source).
The Friendship Bracelet Scam: Tourists are approached by locals who tie a “friendship bracelet” around their wrist and then demand money for it. This seemingly innocent act often results in tourists handing over cash to avoid further confrontation (source).
The Bar Scam: One of the more unsettling scams involves locals inviting tourists to a bar where they are left with an inflated bill after ordering a few drinks. Fearing physical harm, many tourists end up paying these exorbitant charges (source) (source).
Istanbul vs. Other Cities: How Does It Compare?
While Istanbul presents its unique challenges for tourists, it is not alone in harboring scams and theft. In comparison:
Barcelona: Known for its rampant pickpocketing, especially on Las Ramblas and near major landmarks like the Sagrada Familia. Like Istanbul, tourists in Barcelona must guard their bags closely (source).
Paris: Like Istanbul, Paris sees its fair share of pickpockets, especially around the Eiffel Tower and Sacré-Cœur. Street scammers often target tourists with tricks like the petition scam or the gold ring trick (source).
Rome: Known for its professional pickpockets and scams involving taxi drivers inflating fares, Rome mirrors many of the common pitfalls seen in Istanbul. Popular areas like the Colosseum and Vatican are filled with opportunistic criminals (source).
While every major city faces these issues, Istanbul’s combination of old-world charm and modernity seems to lure in unsuspecting tourists who find themselves caught in these well-practiced scams.
Istanbul in Literature: Orhan Pamuk’s Complex Portrait
Renowned Turkish novelist Orhan Pamuk frequently sets his novels in Istanbul, offering a multifaceted portrayal of the city. In works such as Istanbul: Memories and the City and A Strangeness in My Mind, Pamuk explores the juxtaposition between the city's beauty and its underlying tension. While Pamuk doesn’t overtly dwell on the criminal aspects, his narratives often touch upon the harsh realities of urban life, depicting the struggles of ordinary people against the backdrop of a changing metropolis (source).
For example, in A Strangeness in My Mind, the protagonist Mevlut navigates the complexities of living in a bustling city while facing economic hardships. Though Pamuk's characters may not directly encounter scams like those targeting tourists, his stories reveal a side of Istanbul that is gritty and reflective of the broader challenges faced by its residents, including the influx of tourists and the changing socio-economic landscape.
How to Stay Safe in Istanbul
While Istanbul is a city worth exploring, it’s important to stay vigilant. Here are some essential tips to protect yourself:
Use Official Taxi Services: Avoid hailing taxis from the street. Use apps like BiTaksi or ask your hotel to arrange one for you. Always insist on using the meter, and check that it starts at zero (source).
Guard Your Valuables: In crowded areas, keep your belongings close. Wear a cross-body bag with zippers and avoid keeping valuables in your back pockets.
Be Aware of Your Surroundings: Avoid engaging with overly friendly strangers offering services, as these are often scams in disguise.
Report Incidents: If you find yourself the victim of a scam, report it to the Tourist Police at +90 212 527 4503 or seek help from your embassy (source).
Conclusion: Enjoy Istanbul, But Stay Alert
Istanbul remains one of the most beautiful and culturally rich cities in the world, but like I’ve experienced firsthand, it comes with risks. By staying informed, vigilant, and prepared, you can enjoy the splendors of this ancient city while avoiding the pitfalls of opportunistic crime.
