freddie and grace make me so goddamn insane. you get a romance dialogue option when talking to freddie before you even get to choose grace's core attribute. any of the other love interests, if you choose them, will fall in love with grace over the course of the week. but there is no version of the game where freddie hasn't loved grace for years. she died for grace because she loved her, and she told grace not to bring her back because she knew things couldn't be the same between them after she died for her. if you reciprocate freddie's feelings after her confession, she looks absolutely stunned, like she hadn't expected her love to be requited.

i'm so glad i romanced her on my first playthrough (and second lol). it feels so right. i love persephone's and pan's romance paths plenty, but freddie is grace's familiar anchor in the world of magic and greek gods she was thrown into, and it feels so great at their ending together to see grace's old life and new life just become her life. her life with freddie.

I kinda headcanon that eventually maybe years from now grace takes on persephone’s eidolon because she’s already so entrenched in this god stuff, and she doesn’t want to leave freddie when she’s the one who brought her back to life in the first place

But eventually when she’s ready persephone gets to move on and join her calliope in the afterlife while the spirit of their love lives on in grace and freddie 🥺

Freddie is the person Grace would end up with if Stray Gods wasn't a choice based game. Here's why:

Frace are paralleled with Asterion/Hecate. Both are best friends that fall in love. Freddie and Grace sing during Asterion/Hecate's love song. If you choose Freddie to help Asterion she alludes to being in love with Grace

If you don't choose the heart options for Apollo, Pan and Persephone you don't get a heart choice in the confession scene. But if you don't choose the heart options for Freddie you do get a heart choice in her confession scene.

If you flirt with all of them and choose one of the others in the confession scene, you can still choose Freddie. But if you choose Freddie then try to choose one of the others it won't work. So Freddie's romance overrides the other romances.

If you don't flirt with Freddie, Grace will still look at Freddie like she's in love with her through out the game. If you flirt with Freddie, Grace does the same thing.

The romantic love between Frace is mentioned in the second song, I Can Teach You.
