Riddler + being in love with Oswald

I just read a comment on Twitter saying that Lee slowly brings back the Ed-side of Nygma's personality and that it began showing again after his first kiss with Lee and I just want to say:

NO, it did not.

The mirror scene was not after their kiss, it was directly after his talk with Oswald, where Oswald told him he was pathetic. And coincidentally, Ed did not only reappear right after that encounter, he also told Riddler the same that Oswald had said: That he behaves like Ed and not like the Riddler, that he's in his system like a virus etc.

So, what it takes to bring out the Riddler, whom Ed had suppressed, is Oswald calling his name. What it takes to let Ed at least reappear in the Riddler's consciousness, is Oswald insulting him. And mirror-Ed then reinforces Oswald's criticism of the Riddler; it's almost as if Oswald were his ʻreflectionʼ, like when he took drugs to hallucinate him in season 3. As if Nygma needs Oswald's recognition for his own self-perception.

What did Lee on the other hand do in his identity conflict? Sure, she was somewhat the cause that Riddler resurfaced in the beginning of this season, but only in the way that he tried to kill her, because he thought she was in his way. But neither Lee calling Ed's name nor talking to him about love nor even kissing him were enough to bring Ed back. So, what impact did Lee generally have on Nygma? He fell in love with her, like he did with literally half of the women he has ever talked to in the series. Wow.

Nygma might not love Oswald romantically (although in my mind, personally, he always will), but even so he is the person who is most important to Nygma, because his self is dependent on Oswald's recognition.
