ESO drives me nuts with the weird crown-only things.
For example (one of many), these rocks.
I planned an entire build on PTS using mossy boulders, without realizing that although my oft-visited friend Maladdiq stocks the left boulders in Vulkwasten,
the particularly-green mossy rocks on the right and bottom are crown-only.
UNLESS you happen to have the gold-purchased, Unfurnished version of Gorinir Estate. They're unbound.
ZOS why?
Btw if you have those on PC NA and aren't a weirdo like me who cares about rock color or random plants, I'd buy them for a reasonable price 💀 ~

https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Rock,_Slanted_Mossy
https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Sapling,_Lanky_Ash
& Just for extra ref, below are the more-popular plants from G.E. that more people know about and want to buy/sell. Post-Zenithar is a good time to buy/sell them since lots of people buy houses on sale.

P.S. Nope, other vendors definitely don't have these exact rocks. UESP is very comprehensive. But also, like I said: I'm a weirdo. And full of stupid knowledge about every plant and nearly every furnishing in the game and where they come from T_T
...like the fact that this plant is still not a furnishing despite the asset being absolutely everywhere in the world and loading screens:

Some in-progress shots of my Gorinir Estate. Rambles and more pics under the cut.
I entered this in a Gold Road housing contest a few months back. I was sooo proud of it, but being my first contest, I had no idea how out of my league I was! I learned a ton from seeing the other entries! Between that and the Ayleid and Dawnwood furnishings that came out with Gold Road, I've been able to bring my original vision to life a lot more. There are some other Dawnwood furnishings coming out later this month, so who knows, I might be ripping this all apart.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I just love the idea of Ayleid ruins being used as scaffolding for Bosmeri architecture. Elden Root is one of my favorite cities in the game, and it's super impressive as a major hub in an MMO. But the concept of Elden Root--the Bosmeri capital built atop Ayleid ruins and waterfalls--could get so much grander than what's possible in-game. So my idea with this is like, a neighborhood in the Elden Tree, maybe, and some of the methods of dealing with the massive amounts of water that would be produced around the tree--a tree that big would have its own weather! With thousands of people living in the branches of the tree, there would also need to be water for all of those people. So this build is currently very water-centric... we'll see how it goes. I'm excited to finish it once the new furnishings come out in a couple of weeks!

I recently spent a couple weeks saving up to buy the gorinir estate (and doing the achievement to unlock it) for my little bouldertree refuge to expand into upon hitting the item limit there... but i surprisingly found myself at a loss of what to do with it once i got it.
but, i then had an idea for another type of house, one that wouldn't work there but would be perfect for the unique piece of land that is coldharbour surreal estate. a lot of people use the atmosphere to go with a dark, gloomy type of build but i'm going to go in a completely different direction and i'm pretty excited about it!
Tumblr media
i just... now have to save up the money to buy this one. 😅 i've made it a little goal of mine to buy every house in the game that can be bought with gold, to buy them with gold instead of crowns. saves me money AND gets me doing actual quests for the achievements and good loot to sell!
it would've been nice to have this idea before i bought the gorinir estate (literally thought of it later that day), but hey, i've already got 300k of the 1 million needed to buy it after just a few days.
it's funny how my desires for housing have changed in the game. when i first got the game and was touring available homes, i saw CSE and was like, "there's no building! who would want just an empty plot?" but now i get it... and my first house was the alinor crest townhouse, i bought furnished (thus with crowns, i only just made this goal of buying achievement houses with gold) and that was nice at first, but it's pretty boring tbh and i'm excited for the complete makeover i'm planning for it (crafting recipes and materials pending). i definitely prefer getting the houses unfurnished now for that blank slate.
i have a separate post to write up of thoughts about the housing plots offered in the game in general (and why i now think CSE is great) but that's for another day.
hopefully the remaining 700k to buy this comes quickly... wish me good sales in the guild trader!

Used the discount to add the Gorinir Estate, Domus Phrasticus, and the Cyrodilic Jungle House to my collection. Invest in real estate they say.

#eso housing: The Gorinir Estate
This house is kinda finished, as finished as an in-game house can be at least.  It is missing the crafting stations (in the kitchen and under the tree) as I’ve moved to Hunding’s Palatial Hall for now.
Like Hunding’s I preferred to decorate the outside and I tried to make it look magical at night.  Although I have decorated the indoor sections in an eclectic Bosmer kind of way (including…
