i like colorful/retro things, if that helps
alright! Can i request a moodboard for a eurasian black vulture, a fintail goldfish, a jerboa, a leaf-tailed gecko, and a bombyx mori? (Sorry if this is too much things at once!)
Sorry about it taking so long, five moodboards at once was more stressful than I expected it to be, haha! But, I've got it done now, and they're all under the cut!

No Fun Babysitting
Summary: Greg's mother gets him and Manny a babysitter, because Rodrick is 'too busy' with Band practice, and she wants a reliable sitter while her and Frank go out. Though, Rodrick's plans change when he finds out who the babysitter is. Pairings: Rodrick x Fem! Reader [Since my Rodrick posts always tend to do well, here's another you Rodrick lovers!] God this probably so dumb lol. So sorry if it's bad lol
Tumblr media
"A babysitter?" Greg looked at his mother like she was crazy. He was 13, he didn't need a babysitter! Maybe Manny, but certainly not him. "Why do I need a babysitter?"
His mother, Susan, finishes drying off a plate, before turning towards him, "Well, Rodrick," She gestures to Rodrick who was sitting at the dining room table eating a bowl of cereal, "has a gig and I need someone reliable to watch you and Manny while me and your father are out."
"Doesn't Gramma usually watch Manny?" Rodrick asked, since they had never offered to pay HIM to watch the kids.
"She's busy."
"Why can't I watch Manny?"
Susan laughs, causing Greg to frown and roll his eyes.
"Oh, Greg. You have not shown me you are responsible enough to care for a goldfish, much less your little brother. Besides, she's supposed to be really good, her name is Y/n."
Rodrick almost spit out his food when he heard the name of Y/n and he was very quick to clarify, "Y/n? Like Y/n L/n, Y/n?"
Susan hums, before rubbing her chin and nodding, "Yes I believe so."
"She's going to be here?"
"Why do you care?" Greg quick asked, suspicious.
"I don't," Rodrick quickly justifies, trying to cover up his previous excitement. He quickly gets up and heads to his room, completely forgetting about the food.
Susan and Greg watched as he left, while the latter grew suspicious.
---
"Thank you so much for coming at such late notice," Susan hands you Manny, who wiggled in her grasp.
"It's really no problem, Mrs. Heffley. I hope you and your husband have a good night out."
"Me, too," She jokes, before shaking her head, "Our numbers are on the fridge and if we don't answer, there's the number of the restaurant...."
You nod your head, listening as she goes on and on about safety and such. When she finally left, you waved her off before carrying Manny into the living room. "So, what do you like to do, Manny?"
Before he could answer, Rodrick quickly rushes in, his guitar hanging off his back. He was covered in sweat and his hair was dismayed/a mess. He pushes his hand through his hair, before looking at you in feigned confusion.
"Oh, Y/n right? I didn't know you were going to be here."
"What are you talking about? Mom sai-"
Rodrick quickly got his shoe and threw it at Greg, hitting him smack in the face. He [Rodrick] pushes inbetween you and Manny, leaning on his hand, "Hey."
"Hi?" You looked past him, towards Manny, who was pushing on Rodrick's back.
"What.. uh, brings you around?"
"Um... What do you mean?"
He turns to face forward , leaning back on his hands, "Uh, you know, ummm...." He clicks his tongue, before looking back at you, "You like music, right?"
"Everyone likes music."
"Right!" He stands up pointing to you, Manny finally looking relieved that Rodrick had moved from his spot.
Manny gets down from the seat and pulls out a puzzle from under the table. You watch him closely as Rodrick still continues to talk.
"I'm in a band, you should come listen."
"Uhuh... Band?" You now looked at him when registering his words.
"Oh, yeah. We're called the Loaded Diaper [Löded Diper]."
"Loaded Diaper?"
"Yeah."
"When you hear them, you'll understand the name," Greg jokes, before hiding under the table when seeing Rodrick's glare.
You look at Greg, before humming and nodding, "I see. Ummm... What kind of music do you guys play?"
"Rock."
"Oh, yeah, that makes sense... Um... Maybe I can come some time."
"Yeah, you should. Just let me know when you're free."
"Yeah, will do."
He walks away from the living room and out the front door, but not before fist bumping, thrilled to have a 'date' kind of.

Dazai nighttime routine
Agere (little Dazai and Cg chuuya)
Snack, Meds, changing, and bath time!
Some of these are easier than the others….
Getting Dazai to eat at all is a challenge, much less Baby Zai. Of course crab and vodka isn’t a very good bedtime snack so alternatives have to be found.
Chuuyas found the goldfish or cutely shaped crackers have an affect on Lil Zai’s mind.
Otherwise if the baby isn’t feeling up to solids then a bottle or sippy cup will do, warmed up milk sends Little Dazai right to sleep (even better when Chuuyas holds the bottle up for him).
Meds is a whole other challenge. Dazai’s not very good with meds and when he’s big he always manages to find ways out of taking them.
Baby Dazai is not so lucky. Chuuya always finds a way to bribe him with strawberry milk or other tasty treats.
Dazai normally falls asleep in the clothing he wears all the time and even if Chuuya tolerates Big Zai doing so he can’t have baby Dazai doing the same thing.
So certain comfortable clothing is chosen out in advance for Little Zai to slip into. Chuuyas tried to convince Dazai to let him buy a onesie or cute pjs but even with reassurance he disagrees.
Bath time may be the easiest thing on this list to accomplish, after a long day and fight between regressing and staying big Dazai finds comfort in the warm water around his skin.
It’s so comforting the Lil Zai doesn’t even think of the lack of bandages around him. So comfortable he could just fall asleep. Of course Chuuya doesn’t let that happen, that evil dog.
After everything is finished and Dazai is properly cleaned and fed it’s time for the baby to go to sleep. Big Dazai may be over embarrassed but during times like this when Little Dazai is tired enough he reaches out to Chuuya for cuddles.
Falling asleep in Chuuyas arm isn’t a part of the schedule, it always manages to fit itself in the routine anyways.
All from a Dazai kin

The last batch of MossClan cats! These are characters for my warrior cats rabies comic! Follow if you’re interested in that!
River kit was born during a storm, when the pond was flushed with water and the marsh’s carp and goldfish (two-legs abandoned their fish somewhere upstream) had to swim like salmon to survive. And then, one small kit was born in the night. Her mother, Poppyfoot, died giving birth to her. Fernpool, her father, was never poppyfoot’s mate… at least, not publicly. Despite social pressure from the clan, Fernpool keeps his distance from poppyfoot, leaving Cinderfall to raise her as her kits had also died during the storm.
Cinderfall herself is the eldest of Fogstar’s two kits. Her brother, Lionfang, looks to her for advice since their mother passed. Despite the recent tragedies, she keeps a smile on her face. She’s kept the father of her kits a secret, even from Lionfang.
Frogpaw is Foxclaw’s apprentice. Frogpaw was a kittypet they’d found playing with some twoleg kits in a field. They managed to draw him away for long enough to convince him to try clan-life. After the famine and the light flood of the storm, they needed new blood to ensure the clan’s survival.
Dovetail is silvermoth’s mother. Silvermoth is her only surviving kin. Dovetail is hardened by loss and aged by her experiences. She’s started to lose her vision, and occasionally is found speaking to cats who aren’t there. Silvermoth doesn’t visit her as much as she used to, and Dovetail has a hard time recognizing her own daughter.
Pinecloud always says she could still be a warrior, if they ever needed her. She’s fought badgers out of the elders den before any warriors could get there, as sturdy proof of that fact. She helps dovetail when she forgets which paths to walk in the morning, and brings the med-cat, dovetails daughter, to her when dovetail’s sick and they’re both being stubborn about it. When she’s lucid, they spend their days reminiscing. They were enemies in their childhood. They could have been so much more. What time takes, and gives, is always a mystery.

I adore this article -- it has the ring of truth throughout, and it has a similar vibe to thoughts I've been having recently about why I love the show so much. The main reason?
Psychological safety.
I'm autistic, mentally unwell, intensely aro-ace and slightly physically disabled (and was viciously bullied in school for the first three things on that list) -- and I know deep in my bones that the Doctor -- any of them -- would not care about that. They would always see me as being worth saving, and I would always be welcome on board the TARDIS, even if I'm not necessarily full-on companion material (I can't run very well XD).
That feeling is HUGE when society tends to malign fundamental aspects of oneself.
(Plus, there is also the fact that I was introduced to the Whoniverse as a toddler (I'm in my 30s now) and thus the show is somewhere between 'favourite TV show' and 'fundamental component of my psyche'; I can no more comprehend life without DW than a goldfish can comprehend the opening hours of A.Z. Fell & Co.)
Incidentally, this sort of feeling is also part of why I like Good Omens, Sandman and Discworld so much -- those worlds are fundamentally kind and compassionate, and I know that I would be safe and welcome there. Mortals are always welcome in the Dreaming, I'd probably do ok in Lancre or on the Chalk, and while customers rarely see the inside of The Bookshop, I'd like to think that if my joints were playing me up in the vicinity of the proprietor(s), I might be invited inside to drink tea and ramble about Learned Penric kin Jurald or something XD
(By contrast, one of the reasons I drifted out of the MCU fandom was because that world, beyond the flashy effects, felt incredibly bleak -- even if good things happened, they could be nullified at any time (e.g. ending of Thor 3 vs opening scene of IW), there is always at least one colossal existential threat at any given moment, resolving problems *always* essentially boils down to how to do violence, and anybody who is in some way unusual or exceptional seems to be expected to squash themselves into a very narrow set of traits, thoughts and actions deemed 'useful to the majority' in order to be accepted/valued/adjudged worthwhile, and their life's gonna massively suck just the same)

I Don’t Know Why All The Trees Change In The Fall, But I Know You’re Not Scared Of Anything At All;
Tumblr media
Cover:
Tumblr media
Summary: Isabela’s son is a mama’s boy. Trigger Warnings: Confusion, fear, jealousy, thoughts of violence, swearing, blasphemy, anger issues, and repeated use of the word ‘stupid’. Encantober 2024: Leaves. The way Isabela is thinking of Pedro is based off this wonderful fic: https://archiveofourown.org/works/37560733/chapters/93751921
------------------------------------------------------------
Arlo Emo Marquez Madrigal, son of Isabela Rojas Madrigal and Bubo Marquez, at five years old didn't yet know why all the trees changed in the fall (or why the leaves changed whenever his mother wanted them to).
Or whether Snow White's house was near or far away.
But one thing he did know without a doubt was that his mamá wasn't scared of anything at all. He knew this because he'd seen it first hand, on multiple occasions.
He'd seen her chase off the mean old dead fish lady with a cactus after she insulted his mamá’s Tío Bruno.
He'd seen her chase off his papá’s mean old papá and hermanos with an Épée.
He's seen her chase the donkey farmer with a chancla after he tried to ask Tía Luisa to help him catch the donkeys again on Christmas morning.
Arlo had even seen her pick up spiders with her bare hands and had seen her wrestle one of her potato people out of Parce’s mouth  and send the jaguar to the corner.
So, yeah. Arlo or Mi pequeña flor, as his mamá liked to call him, knew that his mamá wasn't scared of anything at all and he'd even wager all of his allowance with Primo Camilo on it if he hadn't been banned from gambling by his padres.
Which was exactly why when, during his gift ceremony, his hair went from soft and dry to liquid-y and move-y he ran in terror straight for his madre without even glancing at his door or his siblings’ new doors because he knew she'd protect him from whatever his gift had done to him and make Casita fix it.
And he knew she would because he had the bestest mommy in the Encanto. “¡MAMI! ¡MAMI! ¡MAMI! ¡MAMI!”
------------------------------------------------------------
To Arlo’s disappointment, mamá couldn't fix his hair.
His hair, that had gone from wavy and curly and pitch black (like both his parents) to teal water with live, moving goldfish in it—because apparently his gift could affect his appearance far more than just making eyes go from hazel to green like it had with Tío abuelo Bruno.
Arlo hated it.
He hated his stupid new hair and wanted his cool old hair that made him look like his parents’ clone back. He hated his stupid Hy-dro-kin-esis or his water bending as Tío abuelo Bruno and Primo Cy called it. He hated that his head was always wet and that he could feel the fish moving, and that his papá and mamá couldn't play with his hair anymore. He hated that he couldn't cuddle with his parents or his siblings and cousins without his hair dripping everywhere.
Arlo hated his stupid water-filled room that drip, drip, dripped non-stop no matter the time of day. He hated how the water rose when he was upset and how people he didn't know in town kept trying to touch his hair.
He hated everything about his gift and he hated the miracle and he hated Casita and he hated his Tía Mirabel for handing him her magical door knob during the ceremony.  But most of all he hated his siblings and cousins for getting gifts they loved when he was stuck with one he hated that kept giving him ear infections that Abuela Julieta’s food couldn't heal.
Why did his hermano Miguel Jr (or Smiley or MJ as he had been nicknamed) get to make shields out of thin air? Why did Miguel Jr get to make a shield bubble that he could run into walls with, without getting a boo-boo when Arlo was stuck with water bending?
Why did his hermana Zoey get to talk to and fix machines that he could befriend while Arlo was stuck with water bending?
Why did Princesa get to make different gasses?
Why did Elmira get to play with music and make things happen?
Why did Claudine get to turn invisible and why did Rachel get to make things come to life by sewing?
------------------------------------------------------------
Why did Cesare get telepathy and Cornel get to see the dead and Cy get to see the future like Tío abuelo Bruno did?
And why did Rick get to tell when people were lying?
Why was Arlo the only one with a gift he hated?
Why did Casita and the miracle hate him?
He didn't want this gift. He wanted something cool, like being the next miracle holder or his mamá’s gift! Preferably something like his mamá’s gift. Not a dumb ol’ gift that ruined his hair and ruined his room and ruined his cuddles!
Arlo couldn't even draw the leaves on his mamá’s vines and plants anymore without the water from his hair dripping onto his drawing and dampening the paper!
It wasn't fair!
He wasn't even allowed to swim anymore either ‘cause the adults and bigger kids were scared that they wouldn't be able to see him ‘cause of his hair if he drowned. He loved swimming and now he couldn't.
He couldn't play outside while it was cold either or sleep in someone else's bed with them without getting everything all wet because of his hair anymore either! It wasn't fair.
It wasn't.
And he didn't know why his mamá couldn't fix it— didn’t Casita know that his mamá was the bestest mamá and that she had to listen to her? Didn't the miracle know that?
Arlo hated them for not listening to his mamá and he hated that his mean old gift made his mamá sad. He even tried to hide how much he didn't like his power after he saw how much it upset her but the fish haired boy wasn't sure if he was successful because she kept trying to tell him that he'd grow to love his gift to make him feel better.
That abuelo had picked it out just for him.
That water was the reason her leaves and vines and leaves and flowers and leaves could live. That his water could save her plants in a drought. Whatever a drought was.
But it didn't make him feel better—because he knew that his mamá was just lying for his benefit; something that only served to make him despise his gift more because it had turned his honest madre into a liar —which he knew was a bad thing because his bisabuela Alma said that lying was rude and not good and not nice, and that they shouldn't lie.
And if his madre was a liar because of his gift, then his madre was bad and he didn't want his mamá or his papá to be bad.
But they were. All because of his useless, awful gift.
------------------------------------------------------------
“See how green and lively the water makes the leaves, hijo? Isn't it nice?” Isabela asked, trying to keep the desperation out of her voice as she kneeled in front of her five year old with a big fake, painfully forced smile on her face.
Hoping that her son wouldn't notice that she was trying to fake it till she made it. It, in this case, being love for her son’s gift.
Since the mad scientist of a florist, quite frankly, despised her poor little son—who was so much like her that it hurt—’s gift. Maybe the artist would have liked the gift given to her little mini-me if Arlo himself had liked it but she would never know because her Arlo didn't like his gift and didn't want it.
El infierno, her little flower had even gone as far as begging for Casita to take it and his room back.
It killed her and Bubo to see their son in such pain, especially since they had done everything they could think of to ease the boy's misery with absolutely no results other than Arlo trying to hide how much he was rejecting his gift from them. Which neither of them wanted in the slightest.
Dios, the first thing Isabela was gonna do when she died was strangle her abuelo for giving her poor flower such a dreadful gift—if he was even responsible for this whole ordeal, that was. Not that the artist doubted that her grandfather was responsible for the miracle and their gifts; oh, no she was fairly confident that that was the case ever since Mirabel had suggested it. Mirabel was hardly ever wrong these days and Abuela had even confirmed that it did sound like something her Pedro would do.
El absoluto imbécil.
And Cornel did say that Pedro had even admitted to being responsible for choosing the gifts each of them had gotten.
Oh how she couldn't wait to ring his neck for the gifts he'd given her triplets and for the mischievous nature Camilo had undoubtedly inherited from him. El bastardo.
Dios, Isabela hadn't been this mad since she found out while giving birth that she was having triplets.
Arlo scowled at the potted plant—something he'd never have done before his disaster of a gift ceremony—scrunching up his nose and hugging what was now his stuffed flower. Glaring at the plant as if it had done something to personally offend him as a fish attempted to swim out of his hair. “ No. ”
Oh, juro por Dios, she was gonna murder her abuelo for a second time when she next saw him.

KIN had me sold not even 5 minutes in. I’m gonna watch the series and I’ll start doing research into writing for Mikey because that character… not just because Charlie plays him but the depth and his ACTING, I– I have no words. I have the attention span of a goldfish, so it might take some time for me to finish it, but Michael Kinsella is now on my list of character I need to write for sooner or later.
Also, Just LOOK AT HIM!!!

That’s it. That’s the post.

Hi....If you don't mind, can I ask, what are your top 10 (or top 7) favorite media (can be books/ manga/ anime/movies/tv series)? Why do you love them? Sorry if you've answered this question before......Thanks....
If I’m being honest, I have been more into just listening to music during my free time more than anything and while I read a lot of manga, my goldfish brain would blank out if someone were to ask me anything about it. However, I will tell you my list of definite rewatch/reread series though some of them are pretty old or obscure.
My Top 10 (in no particular order)
Welcome to Demon School, Iruma-Kun (manga/anime)
At first, I watched it mainly for the fun aesthetics (cute colourful characters with spooky backgrounds) but I fell in love with the characters and world-building of this series. The whole cast, be it main or supporting, are absolutely amazing and capable of running a story arc of their own even without the main cast which is seriously impressive. And while the anime only just scratched the surface, the author really built the setting of this series with great thought, with its own politics, history, systems, and culture that impacts the story well. No random fact is without purpose and I love it.
The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. (manga/anime)
I’ve been watching anime since I was 4 so I can confidently say that I’m familiar with many classic anime tropes and cliches. This series is like a kudos to longtime anime fans with its jokes and jabs as it follows a strong psychic boy being absolutely done with the insanity of his life as he tries to keep his powers a secret from his schoolmates like a sports anime jock, a shojou girl, delinquent gone good, etc. The comedy coming from this deadpan omnipotent high school student is just an absolute delight. I kin Saiki so much
Nope (movie)
I’m a real fan of horror movies, especially those with undertones that bring a critical element to humanity. While I love all of Jordan Peele’s current works, Nope has got to be one of my favourite movies overall. I’ve heard of some of the criticisms people had with the film (pretty ironic ones too) but I personally love the pacing and suspense of the film. While it’s fun to watch monsters and killers get crazy from the get-go (that’s why Saw movies and slasher films were popular) but Nope touched on that all-too-real fear of not knowing what’s going to happen. That fear where you’re afraid but you’re not sure of what yet.
Petshop of Horrors (manga/anime) and the sequel Neo Petshop of Horrors (manga)
Speaking of horror with critical undertones, I was obsessed with this manga series that came out in the late 90s. I would try so hard to find a way to read this series every chance I could growing up. It’s a sorta episodic style story that stars a mysterious petshop owner that often becomes a suspect in the deaths of people who have bought animals from his shop. I love the philosophy of each new story that touches on humanity and how different (or similar) we are to animals. It questions our societal norms, expectations, base desires, mythology, what it means to live, and what is “acceptable” in our world. Unfortunately, the series was never fully translated and only published fewer copies than typical manga series due to reasons I’m not too sure of (possibly conflicts with ownership and company copyrights at the time, think Baccano situation). The series had an anime but even that anime only had 4 episodes (I still highly recommend it however). I’ve managed to get a few volumes for myself and I know people are selling certain volumes online but I have to save for essentials so collecting them is unfortunately a lower priority now.
Pokémon (video game/manga/anime)
Is this a cop-out? Nah. To this day, I would still have to physically fight myself to not buy plushies and games when I’m already broke af. Pokémon might be one of the first animes I have ever seen (I have seen both sub and dub because my brother found a way) and I would still on occasion go back to rewatch literally any season and any movie of theirs, Nintendo really hit the marketing jackpot with this franchise. The creativity and design are so iconic and memorable that it’s so easy and fun to get into the fantasy of going on an adventure with your favourite Pokémon. There’s of course some nostalgia at play since I loved the moments where my older brother would watch the movies with me and my cousin and I would collect the figurines together.
One Piece (manga/anime)
Is this also a cop-out? Don’t care. I LOVE ONE PIECE! I will sacrifice my time and tears for this series. I have legitimately managed to rewatch this 4 times in my life (granted I started when it only had 400+ episodes so I had an easier time) and I would willingly cry over a flashback, a whale, even a boat over and over again. The action and story-telling of this series just keeps me running back for more even if I keep meeting dumb gatekeepers (yea, people don’t believe me when I tell them I’m a One Piece fan, what are ya gonna do?) I haven’t watch the Netflix live action yet but I probably will once I get my friends to watch with me (I like to fangirl with friends~)
Forget my Husband, I’ll Go Make Money (manhwa)
Despite my blog probably being best known for the villain/ess series, the banner of my blog is not an isekai villainess story but a fantasy series where a woman who can see the past, present, and future tries to make money while being married to a foreign prince before expecting a divorce (because she assumed he rather marry for love than for political reasons). Fun fact, this series was actually one of the foundations when I was writing the villain/ess story for Leona. The art and main couple are just absolutely delightful, I can’t help but reread it as it returns for a new season. Not only is the art just gorgeous, the main couple is just so gosh darn entertaining with their conversations, personal dynamics, and hilarious misunderstandings. Just beautiful.
Hotel Del Luna (K-drama)
Leave it to my interest in horror to love a romance drama with ghosts in it. It’s funny, it’s cute, and some of the ghost’s backstory is heartbreaking as well. This is a great story to just have a nice cry out. I love the story, I love the music, but most importantly, I love IU! She is my queen and every scene she is in, she kills me with her fashion, her haughty character, and her tragic backstory. She and the male lead was such a fun twist of the typical k-drama relationship where she was the powerful but broken character who ended up being healed by the kind, hardworking character. I've watched this 3 times at this point, but I still cry Every. Single. Time. No exceptions.
Hell Girl (anime/manga)
If I haven’t sold you on how I was probably that kid with creepy interests, maybe this will convince you. This was my go-to show back when I was in middle school. There is no excuse, I just really love the psychological horror of this series. In the show, there is a website you can access at midnight where you can ask Ai or Hell Girl to send your most hated person to hell, with the price that you will go there too when you die. While there was a linear storyline in the background, the episodes were always new people who requested Ai’s help with different cases of their own hell on earth. It touches on some really heavy real-life topics but what made it memorable to me was how sometimes I would feel saddened by the choices the people in the show made. Sometimes, they’re in the situation where all they can do is curse someone to hell but then was it really worth losing your chance at a happier afterlife? I watched this show with some of my friends who either saw Ai as a villain for sending people to hell, or a saviour who helped these people find an escape from their torturer, and that honestly made me think about what it means to have that much hate in you. I always wondered if I was ever in that situation, what would I do if given the chance?
Big Hero 6 (movie)
Arguably the first Marvel-Disney movie since Disney bought Marvel, I remembered people having weird thoughts on the usually cartoony company taking over the superhero franchise but I fell in love with everything that was this movie. It had Marvel-style action mixed with classic Disney wholesomeness and gut-wrenching emotional moments. I loved the message and warmth that was in this movie. Having an older brother myself, I couldn’t imagine how I could go on if I lose him but watching Hiro being so well supported by Baymax and his friends cemented within me the importance of helping others and that supporting those in pain can be as powerful as stopping bad guys (sappy, I know but hey I’m now learning to be a preschool teacher so this really stuck with me). Tadashi’s recorded message brings me so much comfort that I didn’t realize I needed. He may have been the closest thing to a Disney crush for me.
