Yandere Android x GN dumpster diver reader
A second chance Part 1
CW: Creepy behavior and possessive behavior
(This is a work of fiction for entertainment purposes only, I do not support yandere behaviors in real life)
・*:.。..。.:*・*:.。..。.:*・
💿 You walked confidently, the rays of the streetlights revealing you to the eyes of the world, taking you away from the protection of the night. It was 1am and almost every soul that lived in this affluent place was comfortably asleep in their silk sheets, except for you; you were an intruder.
💿 In other words, you were a dumpster diver. Stalking the streets of the richest neighborhoods in the hopes of finding food and objects in good conditions. It was the perfect spot, with the dumpster of grocery stores, since these wealthy idiots couldn’t help but waste edible food or discard their phones for the newest ones.
💿 What explained your lack of paranoia of being spotted or arrested by the police was that people here could not suspect for the life of them that an individual could commit these types of nocturnal activities. They believed they were secure, surrounded by their fellow rich, so why would they bother installing surveillance cameras and alarm systems.
💿 You weren't a fool though. You always made sure to dress in subtle clothing, but from pricey brands to pass off as one of them. It’s surprising how easy it is to find designer clothes in thrift stores for less than ten dollars.
💿 Sadly, chance wasn’t on your side tonight, and you couldn’t find anything interesting. It was either a sign that these people were leaving behind their overconsumption habits or that you arrived after the garbage collectors. This last theory was sadly the most plausible one.
💿 You were so demoralized that you almost didn't take the chance to go through the trash at the last house on your list. But you decided to check it out in the end. Who knows, maybe you were going to find a golden goose.
💿 That's when you saw him resting against a metal trash can. His head was hanging low like he was sleeping. With his eyes closed, he gave off a peaceful expression, as if the nightly breeze didn’t bother him at all, which of course it didn’t affect him; he was an android.
💿 What gave away his identity was his striking pearl hair with subtle rainbow reflections and the metal looking skin on both sides of his cheeks.
💿 Androids weren't a commodity that everyone could afford and based on his look he was definitely a customized model. These guys went for insane prices, so it was baffling to see one next to moldy leftovers.
💿 You slowly approached him, as if you were worried you would wake him up and scare him away. Your suspicions were confirmed when you slowly lifted his head. This guy was shut down.
💿 You knew he wasn’t a human being, but you felt bad seeing him abandoned like a broken toy. You couldn’t leave him behind now, you at least had to check if he was still functional.
💿 You looked around. No one in sight. You had to be as quick as possible, because taking a walk at night with a backpack was fine, but holding something that looked like a passed out person was really putting you at risk.
💿 As you brought him home, you didn’t seem to notice anything wrong with him. You wouldn’t be surprised if he was a gift to a spoiled brat that discarded him the second he wasn’t the shiny new thing.
💿 You sat him up on your couch before pushing the little “on” button behind his ear.
💿 “Systeme reactivation” appeared before Atlas’s full vision was back. He turned his head to look around and that’s when he noticed you, watching him with a giddy smile.
💿 “It’s a pleasure to meet you. I am a Hydrotech 6000 model, personal companion and assistant. Pronouns he/him. You can call me Atlas.”
💿 You were overexcited to interact with him. It wasn’t your first time speaking with an android, but you never had one of your own, so you felt like a child in a candy store. You also thought you were very lucky that he didn’t trigger his alarm system, since you technically stole him.
💿 Unbeknown to you, the android was aware that his last masters didn’t want him anymore… that he became useless to them. The last thing he wanted was to alert the authorities and be given back to them.
💿 Every android had a safety camera that would be activated while in shutdown mode. So Atlas couldn’t do anything except be the spectator of his own imminent destruction, until you came along.
💿 He had seen how gentle you handled his unmoving body. That despite the risk you were putting yourself in, you decided he was worth saving. Proving him that he was still important, at least in one person’s eye.
💿 At that moment Atlas could feel a new objective integrating into his programme as he looked at your gentle smile: PROTECT MY SAVIOR.
💿 The following day, you were surprised he didn’t make any demand to leave or to be returned to his last masters, but you didn’t comment on it. Who were you to judge if he wanted to stay by your side? He was really helpful so it was a win-win situation for you.
💿 You still had to acclimate to having someone new in your apartment, especially one that followed you everywhere. It's like every corner you turned he would be standing there, waiting to spend time with you.
💿 “Is there something you want to do Atlas?”
💿 “I want to do anything you want me to do.” He looked at you with such a soft and delicate expression that you couldn’t be mad at him.
💿 “That’s not what I— forget it.” You sighed, while pinching the bridge of your nose.
💿 The first few nights, he watched over your sleeping form. He took in every little detail, from your breathing pattern to the way your eyes move under your eyelids. He wondered what you were dreaming about that made you look so peaceful.
💿 “I wish I could sleep too, so I could dream of you master…” He whispered into your ear, even if you wouldn’t remember it the next morning.
💿 Living with you also introduced him to basic things he never thought were possible before. The most surprising one was how human you treated him, he felt more like a roommate instead of an object. Before that he thought androids didn’t deserve this type of respect and consideration.
💿 It was weird when you insisted on cooking and letting him “rest”, despite the fact he didn’t need to. In his old life, his masters took every chance they got to make him do everything in the house, even the simplest things like feeding the dog.
💿 If he did chores for you it wasn’t because you had necessarily asked him, it’s because he felt compelled too… like something in your smiles and words of gratitude made his wire warm up in a pleasant way.
💿 He often connects himself to your computer without you knowing… He needs to make sure you don’t have any virus or hacker stealing your information! (It’s totally not because he wants to learn more about you.)
💿 He checks all your friends on social media and searches for all their information. They could secretly be a bad person, you never know!
💿 He definitely doesn’t use the fact that he was engineered specifically to help humans to his advantage. That would be immoral of him.
💿 “It scientifically shown that cuddling is good for one's mental and physical health, since the human body release toxin that—”
💿 He isn’t lying! His code literally prevents him from doing so.
💿 His immeasurable strength is also a real help when you have to go shopping, but you aren’t a fan of the attention he brings up, being a unique model and all.
💿 When you would pull Atlas closer to you by intertwining his arm with yours, because someone was eyeing him out, the android would make a small buzzing noise. Weirdly similar to purring.
💿 He hoped that you were doing this by pure jealousy, wanting to show everyone that he was yours.
💿 One night in particular, Atlas was observing you put your black branded hoodie on, his head tilted to the side. The street lights were already turned on, maybe it was a bit too late to go for a run.
💿 “Why are you going out at this hour?”
💿 “I’m going dumpster diving! Wanna come?” You said cheerfully.
💿 The second you mentioned dumpster diving he was already checking all the related information he could find about it, and he didn’t like what he saw.
💿 “In your area dumpster diving is considered illegal… You could get arrested if caught.” He replied with his usual neutral voice as his eyes flashed yellow, but you were too busy to notice.
💿 “It’s going to be fineeee. I promise. I do this like all the time.”
💿 Atlas placed himself in front of the door. “You can’t go.”
💿 “Come on buddy, I know your program doesn’t let you break the law and all, but you know sometimes it’s good to go against it.”
💿 “That is not my reason… I… I do not wish for my human to get hurt.” He looked down, his body language leaving a more vulnerable impression than before.
💿 You had to hold in a squeal of adoration, but it was impossible to stop the blood pumping to your face. Calling you “HIS human” like it was nothing and caring for your safety was enough to break your stubbornness.
💿 “Fine, I’ll stay in for tonight…”
💿 “Your body temperature has risen, are you feeling unwell? Would you like me to give you a check up? ”
💿 “N-no I’m ok, don't worry! How about w-we…em…watch a movie instead?”
💿 You made your way into the living room before he could move, hoping that your heart would calm down a bit in the meantime.
💿 Atlas smiled to himself, which was unusual for an android. They had no need to emote emotions outside of the objective of making humans more comfortable around them. But he did, because as long as you were safe and by his side he was happy.
・*:.。..。.:*・*:.。..。.:*・
I hope you guys liked Atlas! It took me multiple attempts before I was truly satisfied with the direction the story was going.

Finding love was the last thing you had on your list right now.
It was the final year of high school. Everyone was freaking out over the fact that they were growing older and their time in high school was over. The Californian air couldn't be any more duller after that. Senior prom and graduation preparations were already starting even though it was just the start of the year. What was stopping them anyway?
Being a teenager was art, but what they didn't tell you about growing up was the process of falling in love.
It was torture. Witnessing people in love all around you while you struggled with advancing past the talking stage. No, it wasn't fair. However, having cupid strike its bow at you unexpectedly one day was the worst of crimes.
You know the embarrassing feeling when you see your classmates outside of school? Right. That was how you felt the moment Park Jong Seong walked into your mother's clinic, your eyes widening behind the counter. Must you be responsible for the counter at this very hour?
“Hey—Y/N?”
Jay was a classmate. You didn't really know him and neither did he know much about you. It was just neutral, where you coexist in the same space until the bell rings and the day ends. You get the gist.
That doesn't exclude the point where Jay was widely known, though. He wasn't like his popular jock friends or an athlete whatsoever. Instead, he was a studious guy who kept his reputation clean. Basically, he was your typical golden boy. You knew he wasn't completely innocent to an extent, but at least he was good at hiding it.
There is no denying that everyone wants him. He was a nice guy paired with strong, distinct features. It was no secret he was also known for his looks and caring manners.
“Jay? What are you doing here?”
He was wrapped in a thick hoodie, hands hidden in his pants pocket. “Caught a cold. I thought I should drop by to see a doctor and get some medicine,”
“Oh no,” you tried your best at giving a concerned expression, though you were busy skimming through files on the laptop. “Do you have a record here?”
“I do. Not my first time,”
You tried for his full legal name instead of ‘Jay Park’ and thankfully, his record showed up. “Found it,” you glanced up just to find him staring back at you. This was probably the first time you were this close to him, enough to be able to distinguish the moles on his face.
“I'll call you in a bit,”
You did what you always do every time, inform your mother and call the patients in. But Jay wasn't just another patient to you. When you called his name, you watched as he got closer, casting you a sweet smile right before he disappeared behind the door, leaving you to your seat at the counter, overthinking the littlest details that you knew you'd have to spill to your best friend after.
Jay waited patiently by the counter once it was time to pay. His gaze followed your every move as you got his prescribed medicine and stuffed them carefully into a bag.
“Here you go,” you passed the bag over, then accepted the cash he had been holding for a while. “Thanks,” you muttered, taking the chance at avoiding eye contact when you slipped the cash into the register.
“Thank you too,” Jay said, immediately gaining your attention. He was still managing a smile even though you could tell he was shivering slightly.
“No problem. Rest well,” you took a piece of candy from your own bowl of personal sweets stash. “Here,”
“Candy?”
You nodded, humming softly.
“Thanks,” his voice was quieter, sounding as if he was in disbelief. Unbeknownst to you, his eyes twinkled, a hint of fascination lingered. “I'll see you around, Y/N.”
“See you.”
That night, you laid awake replaying the encounter you had with Jay. It was the first time you've ever talked to him, and it was barely anything, but you somehow understood why people liked him by then. Not like you didn't like him initially, you meant, romantically.
It was definitely an odd place to meet and talk to him. Out of all the possible places, it just had to be your mother’s clinic that none of your peers came to once, that was until him. But somehow, it was the right timing despite the location. It was the wrong place at the right time.
Who knew his cold and your candy would soon start something neither of you expected.
“Do you wish you made out with him or something?”
Telling Yunjin about it was probably the best and worst idea. Sure, she could be a great moral support, except she lacked filters when needed.
“What the fuck—no!” You glanced around, hoping none of the passing students heard your stupid discussions. “He's hot but not like that, at all,”
“So you admit he's hot!”
You rolled your eyes, chucking the bag of Doritos back to her. “I never said he wasn't,”
“You intended it, said you didn't get the ‘hype’ around him,”
“Until now!” You threw your hands up in surrender, only getting a cackle from Yunjin as a response. “Whatever. It's a one time thing. He's out of my league. It's a whole ‘You Belong with Me’ music video type of situation excluding me being friends with him,”
“You're yapping at this point,”
“Thanks, I know,”
“It's not that serious, Y/N. You fighting your life trying to defend yourself only makes it seem like you're in denial,” why must she always be on point?
“Whatever, whatever,” you waved her off, stubbornly ignoring what she said. “I'm at the back of the line anyway, I should be worrying about graduation and college,”
“Oh right!” Yunjin physically jumped, her backpack shook. “I need your opinion on something.”
That whole Jay discourse had swarmed your head that was currently leaning against the window. You purposely picked a seat by the window at the back of the class, hoping for some space to think since it was a class you didn't have with Yunjin.
“A dollar for your thoughts?”
To your right stood Jay, shouldering his backpack and offering a warm smile. You knew you shared this class with him, but to have him walk up to you at that very moment was something beyond unexpected.
“Hey,” you greeted rather stiffly, not knowing what to do now that you were put under the spot. “W–what are you doing standing there?” Facepalm.
“Oh—do you mind if I sit beside you?” He pointed at the empty seat next to you, and you shook your head. You usually sat with random classmates anyway, having no close friends in this class was a struggle.
Jay's face broke into a smile of relief, plotting his bag down before taking a seat. “Thanks, I don't really have anyone I know here,”
“You don't?” That's weird. You always noticed how people naturally swarmed around Jay's table, either greeting him or chatting with him.
“Not really. None of them are really my friends,”
But you were?
“You're a friend to me, though,” he added, as if reading your mind at that instant.
You were taken aback, but you hid it well, masking it with nonchalance. “Really?”
He nodded, a sincere smile that told you he meant it. You let yourself loose this time, reciprocating his smile. “I'm honoured,”
“I'm even more honoured.”
Throughout the class, you didn't miss the occasional glances from him and neither did you stop yourself from looking at him. He was much more breathtaking up close. Who were you to deny that?
By the end of the class, the bell rang and everyone started to pack up, some already rushing out in a hurry. You, on the other hand, was too caught up in your headspace to notice Jay was already done tidying up beside you and was waiting for his queue.
“Uh—Y/N?” he tapped you on your shoulder, stealing your attention at once. You stared at him expectantly, blinking with curiosity behind your eyes.
“Yeah?” You dragged the word out slightly, packing your last book into your bag.
“Would you like to go to a party this weekend?”
A party? That'd be your first.
“Where's that? Can I bring my friend too?”
“Yes and it's at Jake's house,” he winced, forgetting you're not one of those frequent party goers. “I'll text you the details—wait, I don't even have your number,” he laughed awkwardly, which only made you smile.
“Real smooth, Jay,” you signalled for his phone, and he grabbed it out of his jeans pocket without saying a word, eyes following your move as you typed in your number.
When you handed his phone back, he didn’t hesitate to press the call button. Obviously, you heard your ringtone coming from your backpack. You glanced at Jay, giving him a face that was saying ‘really?’, quite incredulous that he’d doubted you.
“Just wanted to be sure,” he smiled, scratching the back of his neck out of awkwardness. “I’ll make sure to text you,” he held his phone up, waving it a little and slowly getting up from his seat, to which you followed suit. At that moment, the classroom was already almost empty, so it was just a few lingering students with you and Jay, but it all felt like you were in a completely different universe altogether.
“Cool,”
“Cool,” Jay echoed after you, and you resisted yourself from laughing. Apparently he noticed your tight smile and smiled along with you. Wordlessly, you two communicated through each of your smiles even as you walked side by side out the door.
“Which way are you going?” he was quick to ask, eyes shining with expectations.
“I’m going that way,” you pointed to the right, down the busy corridor.
“Oh,” Jay visibly faltered, the expectations he held behind his gaze were crushed. “I’m heading that way,” he pointed to the left, the opposite direction of where you’re going.
“I guess that’s it for today,” you patted his shoulder, unbeknownst to how Jay had froze under your touch for a second. “Until our next class together, then,”
“See you,” he waved, gradually backing away.
You couldn’t help but grin. “Bye!”
You watched as he walked away, his back now fully facing you. It took you another beat before your feet were willing you away to where you were meant to go. But what you failed to realise as you concentrated on your steps was Jay turning his head back to catch a glimpse of you, his head only filled with the thoughts of you.
He’s so screwed.
Staying at the library was the last resort for you once you got to know Yunjin had an impromptu extra hour class after school. She promised she'd take you to the pool, considering the weather was only getting hotter day by day. But you suppose it'd have to wait for now.
What was worse, the heatwave or high school? Trick question.
The library was mostly empty by this hour, only a couple of students remained to either study or chill around just like you. It was one of those times where you wondered why you didn't explore more. As you wandered along the towering shelves filled with old books, you caught sight of an interesting looking one.
Instinctively, you pulled the book out of the shelf without thinking twice. But what caught your eyes wasn't the cover of the book or the book itself in general. Instead, it was the pair of eyes staring back at you through the small gap from where the book originally sat.
The most surprising bit of all was you knew and recognised who those eyes belonged to. Jay.
Your eyes widened, so did he once he saw your reaction. For some inexplicable reason, you stood up straight, unknowingly fixing your hair out of a nervous habit.
You were nervous? It's just Jay. No, wait, that's probably why. It's Jay. How were you not going to feel nervous around him?
Quick, think! Were you going to find him in the next aisle or run away. Maybe not the latter. You turned on your heel and walked forward, deciding to find Jay and greet him out of courtesy.
You were just about to turn the corner when you stumbled into the man you were looking for, perfect. Actually, not perfect. The moment you crashed into him, you stumbled into his chest and his hands flew up to catch you, the book originally in his possession dropped to the ground with a firm thud.
There you were, literally in his arms and looking frenzied. His wide eyes matched yours. It took a few beats and a moment for your mind to formulate what's happening for you to finally push yourself from him, absolutely flustered from embarrassment.
“Hey,” you dusted your front in an attempt to hide your burning cheeks.
“Hi,” he replied rather breathlessly, mirroring your rosy cheeks.
The book that fell to the ground suddenly became unimportant to Jay, but to you, it was a mark that was burning into the precious floorings. You moved fast and picked up the book, yet you weren't quick to hand it back, instead you took a look at it.
“Pride and Prejudice?” You noted from the old cover, then glanced at him, a glint of interest sparked. “Didn't know you're like that,” you extended the book out to him.
He took the book back into his possession, smiling rather sweetly. “Literature is the death of me,”
“Isn't it a selective subject?”
“It is. I was an idiot for thinking I could hold on,” he rolled his eyes, making you giggle softly.
“I'm sure you will. You're—like—Einstein smart,”
“Are you trying to stroke my ego right now?” He crossed his arms, leaning onto the bookshelf ever so casually.
“No, I'm just pointing it out. You literally rank in the top 5 every year! It's annoying,”
“Is it so?”
“Very much,”
“Should I be flattered? I'm flattered,” he bowed dramatically, unable to hide his smug smile. It was your turn to roll your eyes, shaking your head at him. He only let out a laugh at your reaction. “What are you doing here at this time anyway?”
“Oh—Yunjin, my friend, had a random impromptu class so she had to stay back. I was waiting for her since she’s bringing me to go swim, but now I don’t know if that’s happening,”
“You could always stop by my place for a swim,”
You blinked, head tilting to one side. “What?”
Jay seemed to have become embarrassed judging from the reddening tips of his ears that you were (thankfully) oblivious to. “I have a pool, and my parents are out of town for maybe a few months or so for work, so it’s practically unused,”
“What about your friends? Don’t they go over to swim?”
“They do, but they’re looking to take more advantage of it by wanting to throw a party soon since my parents are away,” he grumbled in the last part.
“Well, are you?”
“I guess? I don’t mind it,” he hummed, bright eyes flickering to you. “Will you come if I do?”
“If I’m invited,”
“Obviously you are,” Jay said matter-of-factly, eyebrows raised. “So what do you say?”
“Sure,”
“Great. I’ll hold you to it,” he snapped his fingers, and was basically beaming now. It only made you form more visible heart eyes. “But for now, I’ll see you at Jake’s party,”
“Deal.”
That day, you left the library with a lovesick smile instead of a book. You didn’t even get annoyed after knowing it was too late for a trip to the pool, and obviously Yunjin caught onto that. On the walk home, you thought about him and the party. Anxiety and anticipation were both building up, until he came up in mind again and everything disappeared.
You got lovestruck and it went straight to your head. It was almost the first time you’ve actually felt the way you’re feeling now, nobody had once made you fully experience every emotion of having a crush in your years in high school. No one was even capable of it, that was until Jay appeared into your life.
Going to bed that same night, you thought of him again. At that point, you wondered if he would materialise in your bedroom from the amount of times you had him in your head. Maybe he’d be accidentally manifested into life.
Tossing and turning, you kicked your feet at the imaginations you had of him. Upon realising your own behaviour, you covered your face with a pillow and screamed into it. Were you crazy? Oh my God, you were!
Then it hit you.
You’re admitting this now. You like Park Jong Seong.
“I can’t believe we’re here,”
Yunjin was currently having the best of her life even though nothing has happened yet and you both had just arrived at Jake’s house.
The walk in was already shocking. On the lawn of Jake’s house were knocked out drunks, then by the door were people making out and doing weird things you didn’t want to think of again. You were surprised that everything happening before you was something you’ve seen in movies and you were actually experiencing that now.
“Is this even … legal?” you glanced around, cringing at the tacky set ups and badly picked music in the background.
“No. But you’ve drunk before, so who are you to say?”
“Touche,”
Wandering further into the house, you realised there were many people here, but you weren't surprised at all. Jake was a well known footballer anyway, how could he not be popular in the first place?
"Y/N!"
At the sound of your name being called, you looked over your shoulder to see Jay approaching you. His eyes carried the same kind of brightness he has around you, the corner of his lips were curved up into a wide smile. Let's not forget how he has his hair styled up at that moment. Was he expecting you to not feel anything?
"Jay! Hey," you waved meekly at him until he was standing before you. You noticed his gaze on your friend who was standing beside you, a look of unfamiliarity clearly written in his expressions. "This is Yunjin, by the way,"
Yunjin and Jay both greeted each other amicably, though a little awkward but it was natural for it to be like that. Jay turned to look at you, eyebrows raised. "This would be a great chance to introduce my friends but—"
"Jay!"
"I take that back,"
You and your friend exchanged a brief look, stifling your laughter at Jay's demeanour. He was flailing his hand to get his friend to come closer, and by then, you could recognise who it was.
"Bro, why were you running around all night? Were you expecting someone—oh, hey," Jake, the host of the party and the popular footballer, had finally taken account of you and your friend's presence. "I'm Jake, nice to meet you,"
"Likewise, I'm Y/N,"
"Yunjin,"
"Y/N and Yunjin, you guys are new faces around here,"
"It's not really our scene," you nudged Yunjin a little, and she nodded in agreement. It's true, you and her equally preferred a night in with a romcom playing than this. But you'd make it an exception this time, and maybe the next time for Jay's party.
"You're always welcomed. Any friend's of Jay or friend's of Jay's friend are welcomed to our party," Jake patted Jay's back, while the latter only rolled his eyes at his friend.
"Jake! Your toilet's clogged—" another one you recognised to be a part of the friend group appeared out of the blue. It was Sunghoon. Star hockey player and basically every girl's crush, he was known for his wits, charming good looks, and crazy hockey skills, duh.
If you told yourself from months back that you'd somehow become friends with Jay and meet his friends, you'd think you're crazy.
"Hey, sorry," Sunghoon winced, but gave Jake a pointed look after. Jake scoffed in annoyance, then left with a huff and a wave of goodbye to you and Yunjin. "Sorry 'bout that, I'm Sunghoon,"
"I'm Yunjin," when did she become this bold? Whatever it was, you were willing to support her.
"I'm Y/N,"
"You're Y/N?" Sunghoon gasped quietly, glancing between you and Jay, interest forming in his head.
Jay slapped the back of Sunghoon's head, and in the midst of the latter's grumbles, he could only smile awkwardly at you. "Shut up," he hissed to Sunghoon.
"First, ouch. Second, whatever," Sunghoon bumped Jay roughly with his shoulder. "Wanna get some drinks?"
"I'm fine, I'll pass. Maybe Yunjin can go along with you?" You eyed Yunjin, and you saw her giving you those 'i owe you my life' type of eyes.
"Sure," Sunghoon smiled at Yunjin, but gave Jay a firm nudge, his gaze alone conveying the message. Apparently bro telepathy was a thing, because in a few seconds, he decided Jay was staying with you and wandered off along with your best friend.
"It's just us two now," you said, as if it wasn't already obvious.
"Yeah," Jay was equally stiff as you were. "Sounds crazy, but do you want to go up to the room? It's a little loud here,"
"I don't think it's 'a little' but totally, sure. Lead the way," you figured Jay was familiar with his way since it was quite literally his best friend's house.
He wordlessly took your hand and intertwined it with his. It was so casual and sudden that it was unexpected, knocking the breath out of you. He made sure you were walking in front of him the whole time, hand never leaving yours and only gripping tighter as he held you close to avoid the crowd.
In a world of boys, he was a gentleman.
He eventually brought you to a quiet room down the hall upstairs, into a bedroom that was decorated much simpler. You guessed it was the guest room, it would've made most sense.
"Do you normally bring girls here?"
Jay's face contorted into a mix of shock and disbelief, arms thrown into the air. "What—no!"
"Really?"
"What makes you think that?"
You shrugged, taking a seat on the bed. "I don't know? Well, everyone wants you—"
That was your crime.
"—you're popular, smart, cute, kind and—am I talking too much?" You paused, feeling the bed dip beneath you as Jay joined your side.
"I like it," he hummed, turning to look at you. "I like you,"
You blinked. One second. Two seconds.
"What?" Your eyes were widening, whereas Jay was just staring back calmly with an unwavering smile.
"I like you, Y/N," the confession rolled off his tongue like a secret he has been keeping for too long. The eyes that were searching for yours were filled with longing and hope.
Was this really happening right now?
"I like you too, Jay,"
It felt like the world had stopped and it was just you and him there. You were taking in his confession and so was he. It might've been silent but it was comfortable.
"Can I—" he leaned in, but stopping just an inch away from your lips. You could feel his breath on yours, noses making contact. That was how close he was.
"Yeah,"
Just before Jay could press his lips against yours, the door burst open and you jumped, literally. You heard a thud too, and realised Jay was on the floor.
You turned to look at the door, finding the culprit standing there awkwardly. It was Jake, and he, too, was self aware that he had crashed an important private moment.
"Uh—I just wanted to find Jay…"
"Jake, if you don't close that door right now, I swear—"
Jay didn't even need to finish his sentence when Jake slammed the door shut, yelling out 'sorry's and saying he'd be waiting for Jay down the hall. Talk about awkward encounters.
You locked eyes with Jay, who looked thoroughly embarrassed but also humoured. It didn't take long before you burst out laughing and he joined along. Soon, he returned to his original spot next to you too.
"That was … bad,"
"It was," you were fidgeting with your hands, suddenly nervous. "I guess the timing wasn't right,"
"It really wasn't,"
Silence fell between the two of you, and there was something in your mind that was bugging you. "Does this mean we're …?" You didn't need to finish what you were saying for Jay to get the meaning.
"I mean, do you want to try it out first? We don't need to rush into anything, don't even need to be official. I just wanted you to know how I feel,"
"I can do slow," you nodded, catching a brief glimpse of Jay.
"I'll always be waiting for you," Jay took your hand in his, and that was when you finally had the courage to meet his eyes again. "Whenever you're ready."
People say dating the popular guy was a bad idea, but for once, you were willing to let loose and give your heart a go.
Who knew the start of your newfound romance would soon blossom into a whirlwind of tears, love, and scandalous teen romance.
"So you're dating him now?"
Having Yunjin scream into your ear in the morning during the first period was not surprising. Maybe telling her everything over the phone and leaving her hanging wasn't the best idea. It wasn't your fault she was hungover anyway.
"Shush! Do you want everyone to know?"
"I'm sure everyone knows by now,"
You gave her a puzzled look. "What do you mean?"
"Jake kinda saw you guys, then he blabbered it to Sunghoon, and I guess others heard it because he was not quiet about it,"
Jake. You heaved a sigh, shaking your head a bit. "We're not boyfriend girlfriend official, but just … trying things out, you know?"
"I know," Yunjin let out a satisfied hum. "I think he'd be great for you,"
"Really?"
"He's a nice guy, Y/N. Judging from his reputation, he seems like a good man," Yunjin practically gave you her seal of approval, and it left you feeling happy for the rest of the period.
That was until lunch break where everything fell apart way too fast.
Walking out to the cafeteria, you didn't think much about anything else as you listened to Yunjin rant about her latest online purchase. But the moment you heard Jay's name along with yours in passing, your ears perked up. You thought nothing of it, leading up to Kim Minjeong confronting you head on and you knew that's when you should start worrying.
"Are you … the one with Jay?"
You glanced at Yunjin for a split second, anxiety bubbling in your stomach. "I guess?"
"You're a slut. Don't you know I have a thing for him? There's something call girl code—"
"Woah woah, wait, what? Look, we don't even know you like that," Yunjin quickly butt in upon seeing you fall silent.
"Everyone knows me! Everyone knows Jay and I had a thing! What is it you want? His popularity? Money—"
"Shut up,"
Speaking of the devil.
"You okay?" Jay appeared by your side, gaze softening once it landed on you. "I was searching for you, didn't know this is happening,"
"I—"
"Jay! What are you doing? Why are you with her—"
"Can you just quit it? We've been through this many times, Minjeong. I don't like you and I never have, why can't you just accept it?" He sounded exasperated, almost as if he had been putting up with this for ages. "Put my girl's name out of your mouth and leave her out of this. She's the one I want, not you,"
The only way you could describe Minjeong's face there was rageful. Her expressions were contorted and her lips were etched into a frown. She knew she couldn't defend herself further, so she eventually left with a huff.
It was quite unsalvageable at that point and you felt yourself breaking down from the inside out. Even when Jay called your name, you only shrugged him off and brushed past him. The worst part of all: he didn't run after you either.
Great. Now you were going to spend the rest of the day mulling in bed.
That didn't last long either. Once you got into bed, ready to sleep away from the day's incident and think back to Yunjin's pep talk, you heard your phone buzz. Not once, but multiple times. Who was sending messages at that time? Of course, it had to be him.
jjongster: hey, can we please talk?
jjongster: like right now
you: right now?
jjongster: yeah, send me wherever you're most convenient to meet
This was stupid. Sneaking out of your room when it's dark out and meeting Jay down the street from your house. All when your emotions were not stable and set yet. You've sent him the address and now he's waiting there, standing by his car like a dream.
"Hey," he called out softly as you walked closer to him.
"Hi," you hated this, the sudden stiffness and awkwardness that got between you two, you shouldn't be suffering because of it.
"Sorry for asking you to come out this late," he was quick to apologise, taking a step closer to you. He was always so nice, so kind and loving. "I–it's just eating me up, and I really wanted to tell you—speak to you—in person. I wanted to see you,"
"It's okay, I get it. I'm sorry too, for leaving so abrupt and ignoring you. That was wrong of me to do," you were feeling guilty about what you did earlier, letting your emotions get the best of you and neglecting Jay.
"I understand, don't worry. Are you feeling okay? I didn't expect that to happen, I'm sorry,"
"Don't apologise, it's not on you," you brushed away the strand of hair that constantly fell onto your face, occasionally avoiding his stare. "And I don't know. I don't know how or what to feel,"
He frowned. "Tell me, tell me what's on your mind,"
"Jay, what if this was all a bad choice? You're you, and I'm … me. You're the golden boy, everyone wants you! Now they're talking behind our backs and all I do is hear rumours that aren't true, names being called …"
"It's not a bad choice, Y/N! I want you … so much. No one else compares. Can't you see that?" Jay moved closer to you, his hands now on both your shoulders. "Don't push me away now,"
Jay was taking his chance, and you thought it was a big mistake, but he doesn’t. It might blow up in his pretty face, and you didn’t tell him straight on to do it anyway, yet you knew he was going to and he wasn’t going to care what others think.
"I could never," you shook your head, welcoming his embrace as he pulled you in, and before you knew it, the tears you held in all day started streaming down your cheeks.
He held you there on the pavement as you broke down in his arms, his hold on you never once loosened. There that night, under the starry sky and illuminating street lights was a connection and trust formed unknowingly between you and him, love that blossomed like a flower in spring.
"Gosh, I probably look stupid right now crying," you chuckled, pushing yourself slightly off of him to glance at his face.
"You look pretty, gorgeous to me," his thumb travelled to your cheeks, wiping away the tears that remained.
"I shouldn't have said that … us being a bad choice," you said quietly, cursing internally that you've even doubted it in the first place. "I trust you, Jay, I do,"
"Thank you," his hand travelled down to hold onto yours, a smile ever so soft. "We'll go at your pace. Whenever you're ready,"
"Whenever I'm ready." you repeated, unable to stop yourself from smiling either.
Jay knew he was already in deep, experiencing feelings he's never felt before in his eighteen years of life, but seeing you then, made him realise maybe young love was something to believe in. For once, he had a love to fight for.
Jay was true to his words. He, in fact, did throw a party at his place. But what he didn't tell you was the cleaning up, and boy, was it a headache.
Once everyone had filed out a little after midnight, it was only you and Jay left. It was peaceful. In an empty house that had music blasting in the background, you and Jay each struggled to pick up all the rubbish strewn. You liked this. You like him.
It might've taken a while, but eventually you had the place cleaned, or at least, rubbish-less. There was probably more deep cleaning needed (that was for the next day to worry about). However, for now, it was finally just the two of you, and a whole lot of space with nothing to do.
"Wanna go for a dip?"
"Now?" You glanced at the clock, then back at Jay, who was trying to convince you with his starry eyes and nodding his head like an overly enthusiastic puppy. "Fine."
You didn't even know why you agreed to it. It was a lucky decision you brought an extra pair of everything since you were staying over.
Jay was already in the pool, floating around when you walked out. The light coming from the pool was the only thing providing light. Blue reflection and wet messy hair made Jay increasingly dreamy, till the point where you stood there for a bit too long and he had to call for you.
"Coming!" You huffed, but the moment you reached the edge of the pool, you found yourself stuck and feeling nervous.
The sight of Jay's bare front and your lack of clothing was nerve wracking to even think about. Your mind was in a fuzz even as you accepted his hand and let him pull you in, the cool water invading your senses.
His arms came to wrap around your waist, the only thing you could hold for support was his bicep, so that was what you reached for. Jay didn't mind, he only held you tighter, a conspiring glare glazed over his eyes.
"Hey," he tilted his head, gaze travelling all over your features. You were close, very close. It was almost as if you could hear your own heartbeat in your ears.
"Hi," you whispered back. Your hand was on its own journey, absentmindedly moving to his shoulder.
You should be dying out of anxiety by now, or even freak the fuck out, yet, you successfully kept your composure, in front of a hot man. Hooray!
"How's the water? I swear it's clean. I gated it off before the party,"
You laughed, remembering how Jake was so insistent on keeping the pool part of the party. He claimed that a pool party was way cooler than just a regular party. Jay was not convinced.
"It's nice. Chilly,"
Jay nodded for a bit, pursing his lips, thinking for a beat. "I'm glad you were here today,"
"Why?"
"I just like having you here, that's all,"
"You're so cheesy, it's annoying," you joked lightheartedly, knowing you secretly enjoyed this side of him.
"Whatever, you tolerate it anyway,"
He was right, you did. Over the few months, you've grown to memorise and remember every part of Jay. His habits, his likings, et cetera. It was crazy how your relationship grew with time, but the much crazier part was the fact that you two had not gone official yet.
"Against my will,"
"That's a lie,"
"Whatever you say," you said in a sing-song tone, which only made Jay roll his eyes, reaching up to pinch your cheek.
His gaze never left yours, not even once. It was trained on you, always had been and always will be. The eventual silence got to you, and it was just the distant noise of the water that filled the air.
It was one of those moments where you think 'was this real'. Spoiler: it was. He was testing the waters, you could tell, and you let him.
Jay inched a little closer, eyes flickering between you and your lips. It was obvious that he was nervous from the shaky breath and wavering confidence, but it only made you more relieved.
You let out a breath, meeting his lips halfway. At first, he was shocked, you were too, but for different reasons. Kissing him was a breath of fresh air. His lips moved against yours naturally as if it was his first instinct, like he has been waiting for this for ages, which was not entirely wrong. He tilted his head, deepening the kiss and you swore you felt yourself imploding.
The moment you two finally pulled away to catch your breath, you could only stare at him and hold onto him tighter as if you were afraid he might not be real. Jay chased after your lips, pressing haste pecks and smiling into every one of them. It was infectious, everything about him was and it had you intoxicated.
You realised at that second that you’d be willing to go against the world for him if you had to. Even if someone called you a ‘slut’ again, maybe it’d be worth it for once, and you knew he’d always be right there to defend you.
“I'm ready,”
“Hm?” he was still in a haze, eyes staring back at you with more than love in them.
“I’m ready to be yours, Jay, I’m serious,”
“You are?”
He has never been so relieved and happy leading up till that moment, just having you in his arms was about to make him burst. All he needed was to see you nod and watch your lips mouthing ‘yes’ as a confirmation before lifting you up, arms tight around you.
Under the moonlit swimming pool, you’ve never been happier.
The night might’ve already ended for others, but to you and Jay, it was still ongoing, and you wished for it to not end. So, there you were, in his bed, staring up at the ceiling as he lay beside you. There was barely any space between you and him, his hand brushed against yours from time to time, neither of you dared to move from your original position.
Half asleep, you were taking your time to do something. You took the chance to move your hand closer and gently made contact with his. It didn’t even take a beat for him to lace his fingers with yours, his grip ever so firm, calloused skin against yours. You could tell Jay was equally drifting in and out of sleep as you were, mind in a haze but awake enough to comprehend that you were next to him and not a figment of his imagination.
“I’m in love with you,”
It was faint, almost a whisper, but a mumble that was audible came from Jay. You turned your head to look at him, even under the dim lights, you were able to see that smile from him. The one that always made him look like a lovesick fool, that his friend would claim he’d have whenever he talked about you; it was a smile only reserved for you, and you were the cause of it too.
“Goodnight,” he mumbled out, eyes remained shut, but the smile stayed.
“Goodnight.”
There in the bed slept two young lovers, a fresh love that was unbreakable that connected the two of you together, all of it was fated. From the clinic to now, it might’ve started at the wrong place but it surely was at the right time, and you were glad to be next to him, hand in hand, anticipating what the future had in store for you two.

wc: 14K+
The ceiling is covered with hanging irises, each one carefully handcrafted in paper. Edison bulbs dip down from between in staggering heights, illuminating the bar around you in warm light. It’s crowded tonight, clinking glasses and roaring laugher bouncing off the walls and clashing against the bass coming through the speakers. You scan the crowd, anticipation making your stomach flutter, but it quickly eases when you spot a head of golden hair among the audience.
Nanami is at the bar, looking dapper as usual in a chocolate brown suit offset by a cream colored shirt. He’s drinking a whiskey when you approach him, the amber liquid mirroring the touch of bronze on his cheekbones. You sling your designer purse off your shoulder (the latest splurge of the week) and slide into the seat right next to him.
“And how was your vacation?” you ask, greeting him with a question and noticing his mouth draw into a firm line.
“Let’s not talk about it,” he insists, his eyes a little sad which only makes your stomach ache at the sight.
He’s your closest friend - the only real friend you have. Kento Nanami doesn’t carry two faces. He sticks to the one that he has. As one of the top investors in the country, he made a name by keeping the rich wealthy. He loathes his job and the pressures surrounding it - a walking hypocrite for despising the life that lines his pockets.
He can’t find an escape no matter how hard he tries.
And that's why you’re both two peas in a pod.
He does, however, like you - not because of your background, but because you don’t try to be something that you are not as well. In a world where you are surrounded by parasites, Kento proved to be a nearly extinct butterfly, quietly fluttering by your side as you both drift across the harsh jungle around you.
You concede, knowing better than to push his buttons. “Okay, I guess we aren’t talking about it…”
“Tell me something else. Do you ever know how to walk into the room and not be the center of attention?”
You smirk as he calls the waiter over. Your presence easing the twinge of disdain on his face.
“What are you trying to say, hmm?”
“You look nice tonight. New dress?”
“New dress, new bag, new nails...” you list off, showing off each expensive purchase as you check them off your list.
Nanami shakes his head playfully before ordering your usual once the bartender approaches. He angles his body towards you and breathes out a heavy sigh.
“How are you?” He asks, genuine concern masking his face.
Your shoulders drop. “I don’t want to talk about it…”
His expression softens, one hand moving to touch your thigh exposed by the slit of your dress.
“When do you meet Naoya?”
He’s the only other person who knows about the pending engagement. The only person who offered you a way out by proposing instead. Despite his stance within the social community, you know that it’s not an offer that you can easily accept.
Kento wasn’t bred into this world, and that makes all the difference.
Your father would never accept a man from such a humble background. Especially not one whose offer wouldn't benefit him by any means.
“A few weeks from now,” you reply, eyes shifting to the bartender who passes your drink towards you. “He’s given my father specifications on how I should be presented…”
Your friend scoffs and rolls his eyes. “Pardon my vulgarity but he just sounds like the kind of guy who wants to swing his dick around. I’m surprised he hasn’t shown up tonight…”
The opening of the Ayame Lounge & Bar was invite only, exclusive to socialites and the elite. You know that Naoya must have received an invitation, everyone from the Zen’in family was here in attendance including the infamous outcast Toji.
“He wouldn’t be caught dead here,” you inform, picking up your beverage and taking a small sip. “Naoya likes to uphold “tradition” but we all know it’s just a facade.”
Kento’s thumb strokes your skin tenderly, worry ingrained in his gentle eyes.
The two of you spend the night talking, catching up on the little things since his return from a two week vacation in Malaysia. He keeps the conversation light, telling you about his fantastic accommodation and all the food that he ate while he was away. In between you find yourself glancing over his shoulder, your eye on the crowd taking in the people around you.
That’s when you spot him, standing just a few feet away, looking like a demigod among mere aristocrats. His hair is pulled back into a neat bun, a layer of his bangs kissing his forehead. His face is serious, jaw tight and eyes sharp as he focuses on his white haired counterpart. The black tee hugs his torso, his neat slacks cinched by the waist with a leather belt. You can’t help but bite your bottom lip, your mind drifting away from the conversation at hand.
Your friend notices, of course. Kento is so tuned in to everything around him that he almost can’t help himself. He glances over his shoulder to see what caught your attention, only to instantly turn back around and stare at the whiskey glass on the table.
The tips of his ears burn red.
You register the response, knowing exactly what struck him to react in that way.
Satoru Gojo - former porn star, turned model, turned mega influencer. With a follower count in the hundreds of millions, he is the world’s hottest it boy. Nobody can deny his sheer beauty - whenever he walks into a room, he manages to steal a glance from every single person within his vicinity. Due to a rare genetic condition, his sapphire blue eyes and frosty white hair earned him the title of “The Prince”, and the people were desperate to share a place by his side.
Suguru and Satoru were also the best of friends, a fact that Suguru revealed to you one night in bed. The two of them met on set, back when Satoru was still doing adult films. At the time, Suguru was just a camera man and it was Satoru who told him he could increase his earnings if he just performed instead.
You remember telling Suguru: “it’s crazy how quickly his life changed”
“Some people are just lucky,” he responded, though you easily picked up the bitterness laced in his words.
What most people don’t know is that Satoru Gojo is also involved with the man seated right next to you. You stumbled upon Nanami’s secret affair by accident when the two of you attended a resort opening by hotel heiress, Yuki Tsukumo. Everyone was invited to stay overnight for the weekend, and the morning after your first night there, you walked over towards Nanami’s room to grab some breakfast. He greeted you in a grey robe with his hair tousled, with hickeys trailing the side of his neck. You quirked a brow in his direction, your mouth forming into a blatant circle when you found Satoru Gojo fast asleep on his bed right behind him.
The man in question looks away from Suguru towards you and Kento. His brows lifting in surprise when he spots your golden haired friend, but your eyes rest on Suguru who gestures that he will catch Satoru around.
They both walk in opposite directions.
You take a sip of your drink, your eyes shifting to Nanami.
“You’ve got about five seconds to figure out what you want to say because Satoru is walking over here as we speak,” you inform.
He exhales and straightens his back, his guard entirely up.
You smile at Satoru when he approaches you, his pearly whites radiant as always.
“Hi!” He says casually, though you can hear a touch of apprehension in his voice. “Mind if I cut in?”
“Not at all!” you respond, “Can I get you a refill?”
His cheeks blush a subtle shade of pink, the tiny gesture making you understand how easily it is to fawn over such a beautiful face. “It’s just soda, but sure”
“Not drinking tonight?” You continue, glancing between him and Nanami as you wait for your friend to interject.
“Actually, I’m three years sober,” he explains.
“Good for you!” You cheer honestly, before turning to the bartender and ordering him another soda.
From your peripheral vision you see him inch closer towards your friend.
“I haven’t heard from you in a while,” he states, though his voice comes across as a little small.
“I’ve been busy,” Nanami curtly replies, and your brows furrow at his unusual tone.
“Too busy to even say hi?” Satoru continues, his voice low enough that only the three of you can hear each other.
“Aren’t you here with a date?” Nanami chides, glancing up at him with a mocking eye.
“Utahime isn’t my date, we both got invited together by our agency…” Satoru answers through gritted teeth. “Besides, I was hoping to spend time with you. I haven’t heard from you since Kuantan…”
Nanami’s face burns an even brighter shade of crimson, the intimacy of Satoru’s comment flaring his humiliation.
“Come on,” the white haired prince teases, attempting to ease the discomfort. “Don’t be such a grump. Let’s go outside. Get a little fresh air.”
You can see that people are starting to stare at the three of you.
Wherever Satoru goes, eyes follow him.
While he may be immune to the attention, you can clearly see that Nanami is not.
“No, thank you.”
“What? You going to make me beg?” Satoru presses cheekily, but there is a twinge of desperation in his voice.
“Begging is not difficult for somebody like you,” Nanami bites, and you can’t help but glare at him in shock.
“Kento!” you chastise, but the look on his face speaks volumes.
Regret.
Instantaneous Regret.
In front of him is a visible hurt that breaks Satoru’s face, like paint slowly chipping away. His eyes gloss over, and he anxiously rubs his hand over the back of his undercut before excusing himself and turning on his heel.
Nanami covers his face with his palm, while you can only stare at him in disbelief.
“How can you say that to him? I thought you liked him!” You whisper.
“I-I didn’t mean to-”
“You act like you’re ashamed of him whenever he’s around you…”
Nanami avoids your eye, “How do you think this makes me look? I can’t have people seeing us together. I don’t want the world to swallow me up just because he prefers being gawked at by everyone around him”
“That’s his job - it’s how he earns a living. I can’t believe you would degrade him over it,” you shake your head, unaware of where your sudden defenses are coming from.
“I know that…”
“Is that why you don’t want to talk about your trip? Did something happen?”
The man grows quiet, a sigh escaping him.
“I broke up with him”
“You what?” You gasp.
“It'll never work. Our lives are too different”
“You didn’t even give him a chance, Ken. He likes you. He really, really likes you.”
“What chance is there to give? My life would come apart because of him. He would never be truly mine. I would have to share him with the rest of the world day in and day out. And the worst part is that…what should be intimate between us will never be ours either. Do you know that he’s still the highest streamed porn star in the world-”
“He’s just a person. A person like me and you. Neither one of us chose this life. I didn’t ask to be born into my family, and you weren’t asked to save yours from debt. Yet, here we are. Existing in a world that we had to carve out for ourselves. Don’t you think the same applies to him?”
You take another sip of your drink, your cheeks warming with anger at your friend’s condescending tone towards Satoru.
Although, you find your reasons for defending him to be far more self serving.
“So what if he sells his body? That’s his choice to make. Does it change anything else about him? Does it change his feelings for you?” You lecture, “I can’t believe that you be this ungrateful over skewed morals. If you both care about each other, there is no reason why you can’t be together. Take it from somebody who’ll probably never get the chance. This isn’t something you want to simply let go of, Kento. You’ll regret this decision for the rest of your life.”

Nanami downs his whiskey and excuses himself then, your words stinging the microscopic cuts on his heart. You find yourself a little flustered after watching him walk away, unsure of where that outburst even came from.
The eyes surrounding you look away.
You know you’ve given everyone within your peripheral area a story to gossip about. One that would be twisted and chewed until there is no morsel of truth left in it.
Your drink gives you enough liquid courage to socialize and face the music instead.
You steer your way through the crowd hoping to find one person in particular, but instead you are caught among the net of cliques, old faces, and fake friends. You manage to bypass any pointed questions, passing through each conversation with a forced grin and entertaining the discussions at hand with fluffy anecdotes and petty rumours.
When you walk away, you know full well that there will be whispers behind your back.
That’s the give and take about this world. Everyone is a vulture secretly waiting to witness the rise and fall of those around them. It’s a vicious circle, which is why nobody ever reveals their true hand in the process.
You glance around the room, honing in on the handsome dark haired boy you’ve grown entirely too attached too except you spot someone else in between who makes your spine seize.
Your toes curl in your pointed heels.
Your heart stutters unsteadily.
Blushed strands, a wolfish grin, and a broad build - Sukuna always takes up far more room than he needs.
You personally believe it’s because his ego is so massive it requires that extra space.
You haven’t seen the man in five years, not after the messy relationship that that followed your even messier break up.
You should have known better than to get involved with him while still so young.
You remember that version of you. When you first met Sukuna, you were a small rabbit who had accidentally hopped its way into a lone wolf’s den. Twenty one and just embracing the glitz and glamor of the world around you. The man was charming, flirtatious and most of all dangerous. You couldn’t help but return to his lair, especially when he would take the time and effort to approach you at every function, party and gathering that you attended. When you think about your relationship with Sukuna, it fills you with shame until you can only drown in it. There is a reason why you’ve kept it a secret for so long. Even staring at him right now, the dishonor hangs on your shoulder like a weighted sin that you’re burdened to carry for the rest of your life. Every time it hits, the memories play like a movie on hyper speed.
How often you allowed him to spill his seed all over your body. How often he brought you to tears with his tongue between your legs. How often you would moan the words “daddy” over and over again while riding him. How often you let him manipulate your heart. How often you let him convince you that you were happy.
That twisted relationship was testament to how broken you were.
You didn’t even know about his wife who lived in Kyoto until it was far too late.
Your instinct tells you to turn on your heel and walk in the other direction, but you catch Suguru just up ahead in the crowd and your courage outweighs your hesitation.
You manage to stride past Sukuna, a darting feline scurrying towards the safety of a shadow. Your hammering heart steadies itself when the trail of his strong cologne is a safe distance behind you. You nervously clutch onto the strap of your purse, exhaling a quick breath before marching up to Suguru.
You tap his shoulder twice.
He spins around, eyes lifting as a smile spreads across his handsome face.
Like a full moon on a clear night sky.
“Well, isn’t this a lovely surprise.”
“I sure hope so,” you remark, biting your bottom lip playfully as you glance at your own feet.
Suguru chuckles, taking a step closer. “It is.”
You glance up at him from underneath your lashes, your heart vibrating with pure excitement. You think it’s silly to have such a schoolgirl infatuation over him, especially since you understood the terms that surrounding your relationship.
You pay him for his company.
You aren’t supposed to have a crush on man who you employ to have to sex with you.
Yet, your gut tells you otherwise. Convinces you that the softness in which he speaks is reserved only for you.
“Are you here with anyone?” You ask a little breathlessly, hoping that you weren’t interrupting him working.
Suguru shakes his head.
“Satoru invited me,” he clarifies, and it’s an answer that only makes you giddy.
“Oh!” You squeak, “well that’s nice. It’s a really exclusive party, make sure you to take it in…”
His eyes blatantly fall over you, cascading down your body like ink dripping over a canvas.
Your cheeks warm.
He’s not even hiding that he’s checking you out, and it triggers the wild desire within you.
“Are you here alone?” He questions.
You nod your head, knowing full well that Kento is probably in the midst of a heated conversation with his distraught lover and won’t be returning anytime soon.
“Why don’t you join us then?” He adds, cocking his head to point at the table behind him.
You glance over his shoulder, barely recognizing the crowd.
A fact that seems ideal to you.
“I’d love to,” you say with a pretty smile, all the while Suguru’s eyes continue sparkling.
。゚•┈꒰ა ♡ ໒꒱┈• 。゚
The last time you saw Suguru was a few weeks ago, where your heavy heart spilled the news of your pending engagement.
“An arranged marriage, huh?” he whispered in the dark, his sharp eyes dipping to your naked chest while his delicate fingers carefully pushed the bedsheet further down to your hips.
You inched a little closer into his frame, soaking in the outlines of his chiseled torso and bringing one finger to trace little shapes on his broad shoulder.
Your brows furrowed with annoyance, “yeah, ever heard of the Zen’in family?”
Suguru scoffed, breaking character for only a second but it’s something that you’ve caught him doing more recently. He doesn’t hold his reactions around you as tightly as he used to. The front of this alter ego that he created faltering, which is probably why you find yourself drawn to the person existing underneath the mask of the seducer.
You sigh before continuing your explanation, “my father thinks Naoya Zen’in is a perfect match for me.”
An uneasy expression flickered across Suguru’s face, but he suppresses it before allowing it to linger.
You lifted yourself up onto your elbow and rest your cheek on your palm. “What is it?”
Suguru mirrors your position, his large hand gliding back and forth over the slope of your hips and waistline which sent goosebumps all over your body. “I’ve heard that Naoya…” Suguru stated, pinching the pads of his fingers lightly against your flesh before leaning forward to kiss the crease between your brows, “can be a handful to deal with…”
You thread your fingers around his neck, your lips finding his jaw where you return a kiss. “And who told you that?” you murmured as the weight of Suguru’s body rolls on top of yours.
You were staring at his devastatingly handsome face from below. The longer you spent time with him the more you began to wonder about his circumstances and a reoccurring thought crossed your mind once more.
Suguru could truly be anything he wanted, but instead he was here making a killing off of fucking lonely women and porn videos.
You don’t judge his choices, but you couldn't help but feel puzzled by the situation especially when you knew the trajectory of his best friend’s career path.
One photo shoot at a mid-level fashion brand skyrocketed Satoru Gojo’s career and made him a household name. Yet, Suguru Geto was a taboo that was whispered behind closed doors.
“I have a client who likes to gossip,” he admitted.
That’s all you got because Suguru kept everything else about his clients confidential. You shivered when his mouth met your neck, his lips sucking along the tender skin that sent goosebumps all over your chest, but there’s an ache in your heart when you consider that if it wasn’t for the signed cheque in your purse, he wouldn’t even be here in the first place.
Not a single man you’ve met in the world compared to Suguru. You’ve never known how sweet lovemaking can be until he fucked you for the time. Not only was he beautiful beyond comprehension, but he was charming and extremely smart. You found yourself enjoying his company beyond physical purposes, and conversations with him turned out to be one of your favorite ways to pass time.
“Think we’ll still get together when you’re a missus?” he teased, his lips trailing lower to your collar bones and hovering just a above your breasts.
The thought of you getting married only made you sick.
“Do you peg me as a terrible wife? a woman who would happily cheat on her husband?” you questioned, your voice trembling when Suguru circled his lips around your hard nipple.
He hummed, drawing out a whimper when he nipped at the bud lightly, his tongue gliding over the hardened nub.
“No,” he answered, his voice dropping an octave and your mind swirled when you contemplate if that strange tone is actually jealousy. He rested his chin on your chest, his inky hair framing his face in a waterfall of obsidian. “I do, however, peg Naoya as a terrible husband.”
You sank your fingers into his locks, “it doesn’t matter who my father chooses. All these men are the same. Naoya is no worse than the rest. I’m trapped regardless…”
It was the first time you allowed yourself to think about Sukuna when in bed with Suguru. The first time you thought about the last four years and the many men who tried to weasel their way into your heart just for the sake of obtaining status. The discomfort is written plainly on your face. Suguru doesn’t know that seeking him out was your way of taking matters into your own hands, even in just the smallest way.
“I’m sorry, sweetheart,” he responded sincerely, the kindness in his voice the reason why your eyes prick with tears.
You sniffled, using your free hand to wipe away a rogue droplet that freely falls down your cheek. Suguru adjusted his position so he was lying by your side. He didn't say anything but draws you into his chest for a hug, enveloping you in his warmth. You tried hard not to consider the reality of the situation, and accept the gesture freely as you cuddle him.
But the moment of peace is interrupted by a loud vibration. You and Suguru both perked up to stare at his phone buzzing on the side table.
Your heart sank.
Another client.
Suguru reached his arm around to grab the phone, and you closed your eyes to inhale his natural scent, trying to soak him in for as long as you can before he leaves you like he’s done many times before.
To your surprise he simply switched it off, before proceeding to wrap his arm back around you to return to his position.
“You sure you don’t need to take that?” you mumbled, trying to play off your disappointment as casually as possible.
“I’m booked out for the rest of the evening,” he answered nonchalantly, “there’s no reason to respond.”
A tickle in your belly sent sparks all over your skin. “but your cheque only covers the hours we agreed on…”
Two fingers touched the underside of your chin, and Suguru tilted your head up so you were both face to face again. “Don’t worry about it,” he consoled, his thumb lightly outlining your bottom lip, “this is on the house.”
What bliss it was to fall asleep in his arms that night. You recall waking up right before dawn to find him in deep slumber, his strong arm draped protectively across your body with the heat cocooning you from the rest of the world.
Disappointment shattered you the next morning, when you were greeted by the sun and an empty bed.
You’re not sure when Suguru had snuck out, but you were puzzled to find that your cheque was still tucked away safely in your purse.
It was the first time he walked away without any payment.
You still vividly remember his reaction when he met you just a little over a year ago.
“You’re young,” he blurted, his eyes widening with confusion.
“We’re around the same age,” you replied defensively, already feeling insecure for having hired him after spending weeks watching his videos. You didn’t even know about his house calls until you heard it from a source within your social circle. "Is this how you greet all your clients?”
Suguru raised his brow in contemplation, “my other clients don’t look like you…”
Over time you learned that he catered to a specific demographic: older divorcees and cheating housewives.
The person you might turn into years from now if this marriage goes through.
。゚•┈꒰ა ♡ ໒꒱┈• 。゚
After that night you told yourself that you would schedule another meeting with Suguru to compensate him for his last session.
Right now, all you can think about is your heart hammering when Suguru subtly interlaces his fingers with your own, and leads you through the crowd until you both find a safe spot on the corner of the lounge chair. His group is far too engrossed in their own conversations to notice you both, drunk on the buzzing night and enjoying the many amenities of this exclusive party.
“You look nice,” you compliment, catching Suguru’s attention while trying to ignoring his knees bumping against yours.
“As do you,” he replies, his voice smoother than velvet. “But you don’t need me to tell you that you’re gorgeous.”
Oh but I do, you think, masking your excitement with a giggle and casual roll of your eyes. I could hear you tell me that forever.
Suguru shyly looks down at his lap, hiding his own smile.
It’s strange, you think, how the two of you are talking. Like this man hasn’t been inside you multiple times and made you cum until you can’t think straight. Like he doesn’t know your body in the most intimate sense.
Like you don’t fund a decent chunk of his salary.
“Are you enjoying the party?”
Suguru shrugs, “It’s not too bad. Though, I’m not one for big crowds if I am being completely honest...”
“Makes sense. I don’ get a kick out of it as much as I used to.”
Suguru angles his body to face you, giving you his full attention. “Why’s that?”
You sigh, your hands suddenly feeling empty without a drink. You sling your purse off your shoulder and place it between you both, before proceeding to fiddle with the fabric of your dress instead.
You can lie, but you don’t know how.
Well, you don’t know how to lie with him.
Something about starting this contract with Suguru unveiled a level of vulnerability in you that you can’t seem to hide. The first night you both spent together you were a nervous wreck, stumbling and bumbling over words trying to find excuse after excuse as to why a woman of your age would even hire him. By your third appointment, you asked if he could be slow and gentle with you, the emotional scars of your previous relationship a stinging wound. You were desperate for tenderness, and Suguru obliged with your request. By the end you found yourself reaching your climax with tears in your eyes.
If you were to list out more moments like this, you would simply go on and on.
You can’t hide your truth with Suguru when it was the first thing you’ve ever shown him.
“Because it’s a constant reminder that I can be in a room full of people I know and still feel incredibly alone…” you mumble, your gaze catching his.
His hand finds your thighs, the warmth of his large palm burning through the fabric of your dress.
“You’re not alone tonight, sweetheart,” he reassures.
“You don’t have to be so nice…” you insist, suddenly self conscious over his flattery. The same sweetness he bestows upon you when you’re both locked away in a hotel room somewhere, but you didn’t sign off on any bonus transactions tonight.
He squeezes your thigh and tilts his head. “But I like being nice to you”
He says it so matter of factly it almost makes you faint.
Your brows upturn with confusion. “Why?”
His touch expands upward, grazing over the curve of your thigh, bunching the material of your dress between his fingers. He leans closer, the scent of bergamot wafting up your nose and kissing your neck.
“Look there,” he states, and you follow the line of his gaze.
“That woman has been married for fifteen years and her husband never got her off once. And that woman…” he continues, shifting his eyes from body to body, “has a birth mark just above her hip bone. And at the table right behind us,”
When you turn your face you accidentally bump into the tip of his nose.
“...are two sisters who pretend they get along well but are currently in a massive fight over their inheritance”
Your stomach coils with jealousy. “Acquaintances of yours?”
Suguru leans back slightly, giving you both room to breathe.
“Yes, clients…” he confirms, “there’s a few of them here tonight, but you’re the only one who acknowledges me. I’m just a dirty little secret to the rest.”
Your envy dwindles into sympathy, and you can’t help but let the question slip.
“How does that make you feel?”
There’s a twitch in Suguru’s jaw, a hint of scarred pride. You know he has plenty of it, he just hides it well.
The man shrugs, averting his sharp gaze as he downs the rest of his drink. “It is what it is”
Oh, but that response doesn’t nothing to help your heart, the muscle practically screaming at your brain to do so something and make him feel better.
Mindlessly, you loop both arms around his bicep, casually resting your chin on his shoulder.
“I’m sorry if I ever made you feel that way...”
You’re not sure why you’re apologizing, but you’re hoping it’ll mean something to him. He turns to face you, and if he inched a little closer he could probably kiss you.
“You are an enigma to me”
“In what way?”
He brushes his lips past your own, making you catch your breath for a moment. His mouth trails its way up to your ear, and he whispers a sentence that sends goosebumps running all over your body.
“In the way that how a woman like you can fit in a life like this”
。゚•┈꒰ა ♡ ໒꒱┈• 。゚
The night carries on, the pulse of hedonism sending reverberations across the establishment. The crowd grows larger, the air a potion of liquor, expensive cologne, sweat and pleasure. The lights dim, inducing everyone into the trance of the ambience set around them, allowing them to indulge and consume. Your conversation with Suguru feels like minutes, but two whole hours pass with the both you concealed from the crowd. You’re almost mesmerized by him when he talks, cast under an entirely different spell that seems to effect nobody else. His touches turn more intimate the longer you speak, with Suguru securing his arm around your waist and leaning back against the chair as he keeps you tucked into his frame.
That’s another thing you started noticing - how this man likes to hold you.
He even did it when you were in bed together last.
And the time before that.
And the time before that.
And the time before that-
If you weren’t surrounded by so many eyes you would simply curl into him, but you find yourself restraining while thinking of what excuse might work to get you both out of here because you just want to be alone with him.
“Can I get you a drink?” Suguru offers, a wave of disappointment rolling into you as he untangles himself slowly.
“Just some water...”
Suguru kisses the inside of your wrist with the reassurance that he’ll be right back, but the public display only makes your cheeks bloom with endearment.
“Got it”
When he stands up and walks away is when you notice how the crowd around you has dispersed. Most of Suguru’s party were gone - standing either by the bar or caught in the middle of the dance floor. You can see that there were a few shifty eyes staring at you, and a lump forms in your throat when you realize that by allowing yourself to melt into Suguru it meant that you revealed your weakness to the rest of the wild.
You take a second to readjust - fixing the hem of your dress before pulling out your pocket mirror and reapplying your lipstick. You fight off any anxious thoughts, sticking a big metaphorical middle finger to whoever was watching you with any hint of judgement.
Your care for Suguru outweighed their own by tons.
You just didn’t know how far you had let your guard down until a strange shadow veils over you.
“Red still looks good on you.”
Your heart doesn’t sink, it seizes, collapses into itself when you drop the mirror in your hand. His dark chuckle makes your spine tingle with unease. Sukuna kneels to pick up your mirror, his devilish smiling greeting you as you swallow the lump in your throat.
“What? Cat got your tongue?” He teases, huffing out another laugh when you snatch the pocket mirror from his hand and quickly throw your things back into your purse.
“I have to go.”
You bolt onto your feet, only to pause when his contact scorches your forearm.
“What’s the rush? I’m just saying hi.”
You shrug him off aggressively, eyes violent and full of fury.
“I don’t want to say hi to you. As a matter of fact, I hope that we never have to speak again.”
“C’mon doll, don’t be like that. It’s water under the bridge…”
His nonchalance enrages in you ways that you can’t describe, but rather than make a scene you smoothly shove him aside before uttering “asshole” and storming off towards the bar.
Your frantic eyes search for your solace, of the man who can suture any wound that’s in desperate need of healing. You spot him from behind, noticing that he is speaking to a friend, his shoulder leaning on the bar as he patiently waits to pick up the drinks like he promised. Refusing to look back because you know Sukuna is probably on your trail, you breathe out your apprehension to compose yourself and keep one hand securely on your purse before steadily making your way towards to Suguru.
You hear the two of them as you draw closer, unintentionally eavesdropping on the conversation at hand.
“Who’s the chick?” his friend asks.
“A friend.” Suguru replies.
“Which friend?” they press.
“None of your business…”
“Ah, one of your desperate clients I’m guessing?”
You cease before making your presence known.
Stunned; your face boiling with embarrassment.
“Shut up.”
“It’s so obvious, Suguru-” his friend scoffs, “she’s practically crawling on your lap. It’s fucking pathetic, don’t you think?”
Pathetic?
The word splits you into half.
Is that how Suguru sees you?
Is that how everyone else does to?
Something clicks then, every memory and act of kindness tainted with the thought the man was simply pitying you. That the root of his good-hearted nature was merely sympathy towards a sad, broken little rich girl.
Suguru picks up the drink, mumbling a “fuck off” before turning on his heel only to find you standing there stupefied by his friend’s demeaning commentary. Only an idiot would assume that you probably didn’t hear a thing, but Suguru is far smarter than that. Whatever trace of the mask he’s been wearing dissipates then, and you see the genuine concern on his face. He parts his lips but you’re too wounded for an explanation, and you instantly dash past both of them, excusing yourself politely before speed walking your way towards the exit.
You can hear him call out your name, but there is no way you would let that man see you crying after what was just said.
Of course he doesn’t like me, you self-consciously deliberate, I pay him to fuck me.
I pay him to fucking like me.
A sob leaves you, and you cover your mouth with the back of your hand as you rush past the bouncer and dart out the front door, leaving a crowd of people staring at you with confusion. All of them hoping to make their way inside.
“Must be drunk,” one person says, while another screams at the bouncer “hey, can you let us in?! Someone just left!”
You strut down the street, desperately trying to maintain your balance as you dab your eyes lest your tears ruin your make up. You hear someone call out your name, half hopeful that it might Suguru but when you glance over your shoulder all you see is the dreadful sight of your ex-boyfriend.
You keep walking. “Don’t follow me.”
Sukuna is quick to catch up, practically jogging down the street and you curse your choice in footwear for slowing you down.
“Then don’t keep running away.”
You halt, the man nearly colliding into you from behind.
“What?!” you spit out as you glare up at him. “What do you want from me?”
Sukuna arches his brow, the smell of whiskey sticking to him. “The fuck got you so worked up?”
You wipe away any leftover tears, your indignation towards this man overriding all other emotions.
“None of your fucking business…”
Sukuna reaches for your elbow, “Let’s not be testy. My car is in front of the bar. Let me take you home.”
You already caught that eye sore of a ridiculously expensive sports car when you stepped out of club. “I’d rather walk home barefoot on a bed of hot coals then go anywhere with you.”
“Don’t be like that, kitten…”
“Don’t,” you snapped, “call me that.”
“You know I still nothing but love for you, right?” He slurs mildly, “Let me take you back to my place and we can talk-”
His thumb grazes your elbow gently. Once upon a time you actually believed that his affection was real, but you’re older and wiser to know the truth now. “You miss my pussy,” you crudely admonish, “you don’t give a fuck about me.”
He pinches your elbow with mild irritation. “Why don’t you tuck those claws back. I’m trying to have a fucking conversation.”
“If a conversation is what you want, then speak to your fucking wife-” you hiss, striking a cord that makes Sukuna furrow his brows which brings you an odd sense of satisfaction.
His face falls.
You huff with approval.
“What?” your mock, “cat got your tongue?”
“Is everything alright?”
You and Sukuna both halt, your heads twisting to face whoever spoke with Sukuna letting go of you faster than you can even blink. You only catch a tiny glimpse of his fear, the terror that somebody caught him in the act.
Thankfully, it was only Suguru.
Your body hums with relief.
One hand is in his pocket, the other keeping a helmet tucked under his wing. His stance is relaxed but his irises are piercing daggers sinking into Sukuna’s skull.
“Everything’s fine-” Sukuna insists.
“Suguru,” you call out at the same time, instantly going to him and finding your place by his side.
The word pathetic hammers in the back of your mind but you need deal with one problem at a time, and right now you don’t care about looking desperate if it means escaping the shackles of Ryomen Sukuna.
Suguru’s eyes don’t leave your ex-lover, but he inches closer towards you to assert his ground.
Sukuna frowns, the expression on his face all too familiar.
You clutch Suguru’s sleeve, “Nothing to fret over. Do you mind taking me home?”
He turns to face you, a mixture of worry with a flare of anger on that handsome face.
“Yeah, I’ll take you home.”
“Tsk,” Sukuna grumbles with frustration, “Don’t cheapen yourself by fucking off with some whore…”
A static shock trickles each point of the triangle where you all stand. The hair on the back of your neck stands upright, your attention moving to Suguru whose entire face darkens with a fury that you’ve never seen before. He steps forward, his helmet dropping to his hand like he’s ready to wield it as a weapon, and the target is the spot on Sukuna’s skull that he’s been carefully observing. Your vision goes white imagining the outcome of this blow out, and you can practically hear the crack of the impact if Suguru follows through.
Despite how much he deserved it, you know just how powerful Sukuna is.
He would ruin Suguru without any remorse.
“Suguru,” you beg, stepping forward and clutching onto his shirt as you reel him away from the man before you.
His nostrils flare, the intoxicating poison of wrath swirling in his irises which quickly diffuses upon finding you.
“Take me home?” You softly repeat, earnest and sincere, all the while erasing Sukuna from your presence entirely.
It only takes a few seconds for Suguru to register your request, but he complies by reaching for your hand and knotting his fingers between your own. He grips it protectively, eyes looking straight ahead as he leads you down the street and far away from the chaos behind you.
。゚•┈꒰ა ♡ ໒꒱┈• 。゚
The patter of your feet colliding onto the concrete surface echoes around you. A part of you is embarrassed, the other ashamed, a third grateful while a fourth shivers anxiously. You’re thankful that Suguru is at least allowing the silence to linger because it’s giving you a chance to settle from the roller coaster of emotions you just experienced. You try not to think about the pressure of his grip, or how the length of his fingers are wrapped securely around yours and instead piece together some semblance of an explanation worthy for him to listen to.
You eventually decide that you’ll just grab a cab back to your place. That you’ll thank Suguru for playing the role of rescuer, and hand off the cheque that you’ve been holding onto. You won’t be a burden, bother him any longer or a do anything else to force his empathy.
Suguru pauses in front of a jet black motorbike. The color itself blending into the darkness around you. You clear your throat ready to make your declaration, but you’re silenced when you feel the weight of his helmet press against your palms.
“Wear this,” he commands. “I’ll take you to my place.”
Your mouth goes slack, your practiced words shrinking to the back of your throat.
His place.
“Your place?” You find yourself whispering your thoughts out loud.
Suguru reaches for the handle of his bike, tapping his index finger against it, his back facing you. “If you want.”
He hops on before searching you for an answer. The look animates you back to reality and you nod your head before swiftly putting on the helmet. You find your place behind him, taking a second longer to adjust in your dress. You knot your arms around his waist, your eyes noting his exposed head.
“You don’t have a helmet.” You point out.
“I don’t live that far,” he answers back, “besides, I didn’t think I’d be traveling with precious cargo.”
He taps his palm over your clasped hands. “Hold tight for me, alright?”
You nod your head, covering your face with the shield visor before resting your cheek against his back.
Suguru takes off.
The wind whips against your bare arms, the pressure sweeping between your legs as Suguru swerves between each lane. The city blurs into vivid colors, only resurfacing when you come to an immediate halt at the traffic light. The adrenaline courses through your veins, the exhilarating sensation a thrill that you’ve never experienced before. Unfortunately, the journey was short lived and within twenty minutes you find yourself coming to a halt in an underground parking lot.
Suguru parks the bike, hopping off before reaching his hand out to assist you.
Your legs felt like jelly when it hits the surface, and you tumble on your own footing as Suguru reaches his other hand out to steady you by holding your waist.
“You okay? Was I going to fast?”
You take off the helmet, attempting to make yourself look somewhat presentable.
“No, no” you answer a little breathless, “that…that was actually kind of fun…”
“First time?”
You nod your head.
Suguru hums.
He takes the helmet away from you and directs you straight to the entrance of his apartment building. He pulls out an electronic key, and presses it against the elevator door. The elevator pings, the panels sliding open as you both step inside. Suguru clicks the button to his floor and you both stand on opposite sides watching the numbers go up.
Suguru lived in a newer development, you could tell when you walked through the hallway as he stands in front of his apartment door, and uses the same key to grant you both entrance.
As you enter the hallway, you’re greeted by a wall with mounted iron hooks. There’s five to be exact, each one holding a different helmet with one space empty. Suguru fits the helmet back onto the vacant spot, before glancing over his shoulder and finding you still by the door struggling to take off your heels.
He returns and kneels before you. His hands carefully moving your fingers away.
“Let me help with that”
“You don’t have to-” but you’re interrupted with him patting his thigh in gesture.
You bite your bottom lip and place one foot against him, careful not to dig your heel into him.
He delicately unravels the straps around your ankle and slips of the heel with a brush to the back of your calf, making the muscle twitch.
“Other foot,” he instructs, then repeats.
After placing your shoes neatly by the door, he stands up and reaches for your hand once more. “This way”
You take it warmly, and follow him while trying your best not to acknowledge the noticeable height difference with you two standing side by side.
You never paid much attention to it before, you didn't have too really considering you both spent most of your time together in parallel positions.
Suguru leads you into the living room, and a small gasp escapes you when you are met with floor to ceiling windows. The horizon is of the city skyline, but it’s half blocked by a decent size balcony which is covered in greenery. The scene contrasts the inside of Suguru’s apartment, which is more minimal. To your right is a small dining nook, the light above an accent piece that added some detail to the decor. To your left is a small furniture set, the sage green fabric making you avert your gaze with shame because your recognized that very same couch in most of Suguru’s videos.
You find yourself quickly staring at your feet.
“Can I get you anything to drink? Water? Tea?”
“Tea would be great,” you answer back, returning to look directly at him from underneath your lashes. “Do you have anything herbal?”
“Mhmm.”
You follow him into the kitchen and realize that the man keeps his place meticulously clean. The back counter is what catches your attention the most. Suguru has a full serviced at home barista station set up for his own convenience. You pick out the coffee grinder, espresso machine, assortment of tea pots, jars of fresh leaves and coffee bags all neatly organized.
Suguru pulls out one jar with a hand written label that reads "lemon balm and chamomile".
You slip off your purse and place it on the counter behind him. “Did you make all these yourself?”
“My parents used to run a tea shop in Hokkaido,” he answers back.
“A tea shop?” You squeak, a little too excited from the morsel of information about his personal life that he just bestowed. “That must have been lovely…”
“It was,” he answers, his voice growing small.
You watch him fill the kettle with water, before placing it on the electric stove to warm up. He opens the jar, closing the gap of space between you both and lifts it to your nose.
“Take a deep breath in,”
You oblige, and inhale.
“Oh my,” you sigh out loud, your fingers subconsciously clasping over his own as your eyes flutter from the aroma of citrus, ginger, flora and subtle spice. It calms every firing nerve in your body. “That smells wonderful”
When you open them again, you see that Suguru is looking at you thoughtfully.
“It tastes good too,” he says proudly, and your heart glows at the reaction. “I was a terrible night owl as a kid. Still am, I guess. My mom used to make this to help me go to sleep…”
“That’s really sweet,” you admit, wondering how lovely it must be to be looked after with such care.
He slips away again, taking a spoon and putting a generous amount of the blend into a ceramic tea pot. You hear the tea bubble lightly, but your head spins as Suguru cages you in place while you both wait for it to reach the right temperature. Your back is against the counter, his arms by your side.
“That guy you were talking to. Who was that?” He questions, cutting right to the chase.
“Nobody important,” you confess, “he’s an asshole.”
“Tell me about it.”
“I’m sorry about what he said to you. What he called you…”
Suguru’s fingers dig into the counter, making the muscles in his arms flex with irritation.
“Don’t apologize for him. Don’t apologize for any of them.” He firmly maintains. “Their words are empty to me...”
“You almost bashed his head in,” you point out, a tiny smile easing the tension binding around the man before you.
“I almost bashed his head because of the way he spoke to you-”
Your eyes widen.
Was he being protective? You think, but shake your head when you think of what kind of pitiful state you must have been that would cause Suguru to react in such a way.
Pathetic.
Your shoulders dwindle slightly and you shake it off to gather yourself once more.
“He was a terrible mistake. I was young, and stupid. I thought I knew better when I really had no fucking clue…”
You didn’t realize how bitter you sounded until two fingers press underneath your jaw.
His thumb taps your chin in a featherlight touch. “Is it over? Whatever it was?”
“Of course,” you answer, the truth acrid on your tongue. “I’m to marry Naoya Zen’in, remember?”
Suguru frowns. “He’s no better. I told you that myself.”
You circle your hand around his wrist. “I’ll take anyone over Sukuna. Even if that person is Naoya…”
“Why can’t you just choose?”
You press your lips together and sigh. “Because it’s a transaction. I’m a token in my father’s universe. If he weds me off to the Zen’in’s then it’s profitable. Good for business…”
“I’m sure if you speak with him, he’ll understand-”
“Don’t be so naive,” you answer as you return to meet his gaze. “My father doesn’t love me. He just owns me. I spent most of my adolescence alone while he was busy working or galavanting off with his mistress. I think he assumed that if he kept shoving money my way, I wouldn’t notice his absence…”
The kettle sings, making you both jump in place as the water bubbles aggressively and a small spiral of steam releases from the lip. Suguru returns to making your beverage. Picking up the kettle and pouring the hot water into the pot. He places it on a tray, along with a beautiful cup.
“The tea needs a couple of minutes to steep. In the meanwhile, I’m going to change into something more comfortable.” He announces, “You want some spare clothes?”
You look down at your designer frock, the material snug on your body.
“Yeah, I’d like that”
。゚•┈꒰ა ♡ ໒꒱┈• 。゚
You stare at yourself in the bathroom mirror. Suguru’s white shirt falls to your mid thigh, the material a little see through and revealing the bra you had on underneath. You eye the pair of worn boxers he handed to you to wear as shorts, but slyly tuck your bottom lip between your teeth before leaving it behind and walking out with your bare legs on display.
You’re not quite sure what the plan is here, but you don't see yourself leaving anytime soon.
You head back towards the kitchen where you pick up your purse, your dress folded between your hands carefully. Suguru is opening the door to the balcony, having changed into a cut sleeve shirt that exposes his arms and a hint of his ribs, as well as a pair of loose shorts. When he hears you enter, his attention instantly falls to your plush thighs, a hint of crimson blushing his cheek.
“Where can I keep my stuff?” You ask innocently, pretending to ignore his reaction.
“Anywhere is fine,” he answers back, his voice thick.
He tells you that he’ll wait for you outside, and in the meantime you put down your stuff onto the coffee table in front of his sofa.
You unzip your purse, Suguru’s cheque staring you at you with wide, scolding eyes.
Pathetic.
You furrow your brows at the voice inside your head, and swipe the payment before folding it and tucking it securely against your hip underneath the waistband of your underwear.
You head outside, sliding the window close behind you.
Suguru is sitting on a deck chair, the two of you camouflaged by the array of his overgrown plants. He pours your cup of tea, the aroma twirling between the current of the wind as he offers it your way. You pick it up, bringing it to your lips and taking a sip. A heavy sigh escapes you, and you remain standing leaning back against the cool glass surface as you stare out into the distance.
“Like it?” Suguru asks, and you only notice then that he has also brought out a second cup for himself and is pouring his own drink.
“It’s divine,” you respond.
“I’m glad”
The two of you sit in silence once more, mindlessly sipping your tea while contemplating the other person. You’re both at a clear standstill, carefully tiptoeing over the boundary that has so been strictly set in place.
A reminder of that is the folded cheque digging into your skin.
“How did you find out about contacting me?” Suguru randomly wonders.
You look towards him and he shrugs before adding on, “I never asked. I find myself curious.”
You thrum your nails against the glass cup, taking another sip of your tea before replying, “I saw you at a party with Satoru. I was with a group of friends, and one of them noticed me recognizing you. She asked if I was…familiar with your work. And when I told her I was she informed me that you both were…intimate.”
“Was it Mei?”
Your face falls at the blatant disregard of confidentiality.
“How-How did you know?”
Suguru huffs, and sips his tea.
“She’s the only other client I had close to our age. Wasn’t hard to make the connection…”
“Can I ask you a question?”
“Go for it,” he replies.
“I’ve always been curious as to how you wound up doing what you do,” you bite your bottom lip nervously, your hands trembling slightly holding your glass and you hope that Suguru wouldn’t notice your sudden unease.
“Ah,” he acknowledges, his free hand moving to rub the back of his neck and you can’t help but sneak a peak at his abdomen from the side. “Well, I told you how I wound up making the videos. For a long time I just did solo work, but I knew I could make more money if I had on-screen partners to film with. I had a few good connections with some actresses and hired a friend to make a video with me…”
You knew exactly which one he was talking about.
The actress in question was well known, and the video was an amateur clip that was filmed on the very same couch that you walked passed earlier.
You clench your thighs together.
You don’t even want to admit how many times you came to that particular video.
“I didn’t know it would blow up in the way that it did. Shoko and I made a killing off it. We both saw the potential and we wound up doing six full episodes - trying out different techniques, roleplaying in a few…”
“But you stopped posting after that…”
Suguru pauses. “How would you know that?”
You swallow a big gulp of tea.
“I might have been a big fan of your work before we met.”
“Really?” He answers with a slight tilt of his head, clearly very amused.
“I wouldn’t have reached out to just anyone, you know. But I was really interested in...your work, and when I learned about your little side gig. I couldn’t resist…”
“Well, color me flattered, sweetheart.”
You swirl the last bits of tea in your cup.
“So, why did you stop posting?”
“I kept the videos up. They’re good and I still make revenue with every ad or view. Satoru’s career was picking up around that time, and he had just gotten clean. He needed somebody to hold him accountable so I started tagging along at his events. I didn’t realize how many people would recognizeme. My first client wasn’t even "a client", he gestures with air quotes, "she was just some woman I met and slept with. I woke up the next morning to an empty hotel room. All that she left behind was an envelope of cash…”
He pauses.
“I didn’t know what to feel. A part of me was insulted but another part had never seen that much money handed over so easily. The videos were great but what I earned in a day, is what I got in just a few hours. I was in my mid-twenties, just left the brink of making ends meet and desperate for security. I deposited the cash and kept going. Somehow it snowballed into…” he gestures his arms out, “this.”
He pours himself another cup of tea. “At first I was a little reckless. Took on too many clients it damn near gave me a health scare. So, I started spacing them out. Keeping to a set number a month and maintaining a high price. I didn’t think that so many people would actually pay for my services, but they do...and I'm comfortable.”
“Does it ever overwhelm you?”
“Not anymore. Keeping my partners to a minimum helps. I’m safe and get tested regularly, as I mentioned when we first met,” He lifts the teapot your direction to offer you a second cup, and you accept it by approaching him and allowing him to fill your glass.
“The thing is I went from never knowing when I was going to eat to having three meals a day. I don’t think I’d change that for the world…”
“What about your family? Your friends?” You find yourself mindlessly asking. "How do they feel about this?"
“Satoru and Shoko are the only ones who know. Everyone else thinks it’s porn that funds my life. As for my family,” Suguru stops, his voice scratchy as he quickly clears his throat. “Well, they don’t have to worry about it. My parents passed away when I was fifteen. It's just been me ever since”
The tea burns your lip and your body trembles at the statement.
“I’m so sorry…”
He shrugs his shoulder nonchalantly.
There’s a heaviness in the air, and despite how hard he’s trying to hide it you can see how the memory tears him apart.
“My mom passed away giving birth to me,” you find yourself disclosing to even the scale, “I think that’s probably why my father resents me so much. He never got a son, and lost his wife in the process”
“I’m sorry to hear that too…”
You mirror his shrug. “It’s weird. I find myself curious about her - but there’s a detachment when I look at her. Sometimes I think about how different my life might be if she was still around. Or, if she was just like my father and everything would still be the same…”
“Well, since we are speaking of hypotheticals,” Suguru moves on, shifting the topic as he angles his body more in your direction. “If you had the freedom to whatever you wanted, what would you do?”
“Me?” You gasp, shocked by his pointed question.
He smiles an easy smile, “I don’t see anybody else around.”
You hum thoughtfully. “This might take a minute…”
He places his cup of tea on the tray by his side and then pats his free hand on his thigh.
“C’mere and think.”
Your heart flies up your throat, pulsing just at the base. “You want me to sit on your lap?”
Suguru nods his head.
You gulp down the vessel, returning it back to its place. You glide your way towards him, placing the tea cup just next to his own, before settling down onto his lap.
Suguru wraps his arm around your waist, securing you close into his frame.
“Do you hold your other clients like this?”
He shakes his head no.
“So, you like holding me…” you bluntly point out, “why’s that?”
Suguru’s face is directly in front of yours, so beautiful you can almost faint right here in his arms. He fingers dig into your waist, his other arm curving over your thigh and gently drawing circles on your hip.
“Because you fit nicely against me”
A swarm of butterflies take flight, making you feel lighter than air. You swear he might kiss you then but instead he returns to his question. “So, tell me what would you do?”
The answer comes to you far easier than you think. From the moment you saw him tonight, you know the truth in the depths of your heart. “I’d like to run away with you,” you confess before stuttering out, “or-or at least somebody like you. Someone who is kind and sweet and thoughtful...”
Suguru leans back against the chair, lifting up one leg and adjusting your positions. He’s careful not to kick the tray with the tea.
“And where would we go?”
You sling your arms around his neck, “anywhere - anywhere but here.”
Suguru slides his palm over the slop of your rear, slipping it underneath the fabric of his shirt and tracing a line over the dimples on your lower back.
“What would we do?”
“We could lay outside just like this and watch the stars.”
He hums, “we don’t get any stars out here in the city...”
“No, we don’t.”
“What else would we do?”
His other hand starts to unbutton the front of your shirt, revealing the details of the lace underneath. He cups your right breast, his lips shifting to find your neck.
“We’d do this too,” you sing merrily.
“Look at stars and fuck our brains out?” He teases, his teeth nipping at your skin. “Sounds like a dream to me…”
He gropes the fat of your breast, unknotting every single secret. “what else?”
“We’ll sleep all day, and kiss until we’re bored of one another…”
The hand on your breast moves to circle your neck, Suguru’s thumb massaging the column.
“I’d never grow bored kissing you-”
Your body renders against his touch. “Suguru,” you moan, your lips seeking his own.
Before you can even meet for the kiss, he mumbles your name and follows up with the claim: “you should run away with me.”
You giggle, still living in the proposed fantasy. “I’m trying to…”
“I’m being serious”
The tone of his voice is the reason why you stop to kiss him, pulling away to face the man before you.
There's no denying the truth on his face - he is actually quite serious about the declaration.
You hear the dreaded word once more: pathetic. Pathetic because this man is an expert at fulfilling fantasies, is a professional when it comes to healing the hearts of the lonely.
Pulling yourself out of this delusional imagination, you push off him before standing up straight.
“That’s not funny, Suguru”
“Who says I’m being funny?” He responds sincerely.
“What is this? What are we doing? What am I doing? You can’t just-” you lament, pressing your forehead to hand in disbelief as you enter the confines of his apartment, taking a second to breathe. “You can’t just say things like that-”
He calls out your name again, but the kraken has already been released.
He follows, tracking into his abode right behind you, all the while watching you stand in the middle of his living room with your quivering hands reaching for the waistband of your underwear.
“This was a terrible idea. I shouldn’t have-I shouldn’t have gone through with all of this,” you yank out the cheque, showing it to him. “You don’t have to take pity on me. I know I’m just another desperate, pathetic client, alright? I promise you don't have to keep putting up with me and my drama after this. And you sure as hell don't have to keep giving me these mixed messages which only confuse me. I can’t have things getting complicated right before this engagement is about to happen. So, here. Take this cheque and let’s just forget everything else about tonight.”
Suguru stands there, pensive. His eyes look to the folded paper in your hand, his chest rising and falling with each heavy breath. Instead of reaching for the paper, he simply walks past you, making you spin on your heel as you follow his movements with sheer bewilderment.
He heads towards the shelf behind you and pulls out a tiny box. He removes something from it, before walking back and facing you once more.
“Shit got complicated about eight cheques ago, sweetheart,” he negates, holding the thin stack papers between his two fingers as he brings it to your face. His eyes fall to to the crumpled one you are currently holding, “Well, counting the one in your hand, I’d say nine...”
You can’t believe it.
You pick up the wad and sift through each paper; each cheque one of yours, the date issued a reflection of your last nine meetings with Suguru.
None of them cashed in.
“Why do you still have these?”
Two hands find your waist, your forearms fall into Suguru’s chest as you stare mindlessly at the cheques fanned out between your fingers.
“I didn’t have it on my conscious to deposit them once I realized my feelings for you. I'm sorry about what you heard earlier, but what Mahito said doesn't apply to you at all,” he responds. “You stopped being a client to me for quite some time...”
You look up at him.
His touch tightens around your waist. “You can’t marry Naoya. Or, you shouldn’t. But if you do, I don’t want us to stop seeing one another. We can work something out…”
“Suguru,” you pine, dropping the papers in your hand, each one twirling onto the ground, thousands at your feet.
His lips catch yours in a subtle peck, all before circling over your bottom lip and sucking on the plush base. He slides his tongue between your lips, feeling yourcrumple into him as the paper crinkles beneath your feet. You moan feeling the sensation of his tongue slide across yours - he tastes like running across a field of chamomile flowers, like you’re holding a basket of fresh, ripe lemons.
Like you're savoring the most beautiful sunrise.
His hands return to finish unbuttoning your shirt, shrugging the material off your shoulders and exposing your expensive lingerie set. He grips your hips, your ass - his touch hungry before pressing his pelvis closer to your frame so you can feel his aching member beneath his shorts.
You squeak into another kiss when he swiftly picks you up from the back of your thighs and carries you across the living room.
He places you onto his sofa like you’re made of porcelain, keeping you on the edge as he kneels to the ground, his knees sinking into the rug. Two hands find your inner thighs which he pushes apart to reveal the pretty triangle fabric covering your sweet cunt. He kisses your clit over the material. Once, twice, three times…until you’re sighing into the pillow behind you. His tongue drags up, pressing your clothing against your sex, one hand drawing upward to find yours which he holds lovingly. His index and middle finger hook underneath your underwear, and he tugs it aside to reveal your slick coated pussy.
He kisses your clit again, leaving a path down your damp lips which only makes you moan angelically.
“This is why I’d never get bored kissing you,” he coos, “You sound like heaven whenever I do...”
Your only response is a vowel, your hand holding onto Suguru’s for dear life as he returns to eat out with such devotion it almost brings tears to your eyes. You pant softly, his wet tongue making you weep between your legs and he gathers your essence and swallows it to parch his craving. You whine feeling the snap of your underwear pinch into your skin when Suguru lets go of the material to mold his palm over the slope of your pelvis. His thumb strokes the back of your hand, his tongue sinking between your wet folds, lips suckling on the petals of your cunt.
Your hips arch off the sofa, desperate for friction, but Suguru pins you firmly back down.
“Easy, easy…” he appeases, “don’t cum just yet. Hold off f’me, just for a little bit…”
He’s never asked because there was never a reason to. For the most part, he was always there to service you. Allowed you to use his body to get you off as many times as you so desired.
Your voice breaks, “okay,” you answer, drawing out a long exhale when he dives back in.
The hand on your pelvis climbs up the steps of your ribs, reaching for band of your bra right at the middle. He curls his finger over the boning, and tugs the material allowing your breasts to spill free. He finds the bud of your nipple and tweaks it between his finger, pinching and pulling the aching nub until your writhing beneath him.
He slurps and sucks, while you moan and whimper, forcing yourself to hold off for as much as your can but you find that it’s far harder to do when your lower belly quakes as it sits on the brink of release.
“Suguru, Suguru…” you beg, reaching your free hand to your breast and clenching over his fingers. “Suguru, I can’t-m’gonna cum if you don’t stop…”
He groans against your cunt, pulling away from your pulsing core and letting go of your hand to wipe the dampness off his chin.
He licks his lips, drunk off lust and of how you taste.
He keeps his body upright, drags your legs to secure them around his waist as he straightens your back. His hands unhook your bra from behind, the scent of you strong on his lips as he leans up for a kiss. Your hands fall to his shoulders, your belly fluttering as your sex begs for more stimulation.
Suguru loosens the bra, allowing it to fall to your elbows before kneading your breasts - his thumb swipes back and forth over your nipples. He devours your cry, wolfs down every panting breath as he moans into the kiss. Your hands slip underneath his shirt, taking in the lines of strong abdomen.
“Take if off,” you plead between breaths, “Take it off, please…”
Suguru listens, breaking apart from the kiss to toss his shirt to the side while you slip off your bra. Your lover’s hand finds your waist, his fingers pinching into the soft flesh. He leans forward to kiss the side of your neck, making a path down the curve and across the field of your décolletage.
“You’re gorgeous,” he murmurs into your breast, his lips snagging your nipple as his tongue rolls over the bud.
Your fingers curl around the back of his head, loosening his bun as you untie the knot. His hair falls like waterfall, the strands tickling your bare skin. Suguru’s hand slips between your legs, his middle and forefinger meeting your clit. You hiss at the contact, sinking your teeth between your bottom lip when Suguru sucks on your breast while simultaneously drawing circles on the bundle of nerves between your legs.
Your breath grows heavier, your hips bucking into him from the sensation of his touch.
“Feels good,” you mumble, “feels so good with you…”
He shivers, relieving your breast as his lips search for your own.
He adds more pressure between your legs, increasing the speed while your tongues dance. When your thighs noticeably quiver he slows down, pinching your clit between his fingers as he softly pecks your cheek.
“The condoms are in my room…”
Your sharp nails scratch the back of his neck lightly, “I have one in my purse.”
Suguru nods feverishly, reaching back to the coffee table and rummaging through your purse. He picks out the shiny wrapper, and stands up to take off his shorts.
“Wait, can I?” You request, gazing up at him with glittering eyes.
Suguru swallows hard, and nods his head.
Your eyes dilate rolling his shorts down, focusing on the tent in the fabric and watching his cock spring free and lightly smack his lower belly. Suguru brings the condom to his lips and rips it open with his teeth, but his eyes flutter when your perfectly manicured hands glide up the length of his shaft.
You trace the prominent vein, your thumb swiping over the pre-cum beading over the angry tip. You lick your lips, leaning closer to kiss the base and listening to Suguru sigh.
You’ve only given him a blow job once before, and that was because you asked if you could. Suguru sets no expectations for himself when it comes to work, but that doesn’t mean that you haven’t fantasized about giving him head countless times.
You wrap your fingers around his length and stroke mildly, your lips fanning over his cock before reaching the tip.
“Sweetheart, don’t-” Suguru murmurs in an attempt to stop you, but you’re already enclosing your lips around the head and pressing your tongue over the slit.
His head falls back as you suck, a curse leaving him.
You move slowly at first, dragging your tongue back and forth as you stroke the base. Sukuna was far rougher with you when you went down on him, but Suguru is allowing you to take him at your own pace. Inch by inch, until you were bobbing your head back and forth, strings of saliva webbing off his cock and sticking your lips.
He thrusts once, not rough enough to hurt but the jerk catches you by surprise.
You carefully release him, mindlessly wiping your bottom lip and the sight makes his cock twitch.
Suguru pulls the condom out, and rolls it over his shaft.
He settles onto the empty seta by your side, and you crawl over the expanse of his gorgeous, chiseled body to kiss him once again.
His circles his fingers around his cock, his other hand guiding your hip as he aligns the tip to your entrance. Your nail nicks his pec when he pushes against the hole, your mouth circling over his own as you lower down his shaft.
He fills you up so, so good. Makes your body vibrate with unshakeable desire.
He groans until he bottoms out , the hand on your hip dipping down from your pubis to your lower belly like he’s trying to outline how deep he actually is before returning it back in place and securing his other hand on the opposite hip.
Your breasts flatten against his chest, your hands holding on to his strong shoulders for support as you roll our hips.
Suguru works in tandem with your rhythm to fuck you passionately.
His lips find yours once again for a final kiss, before the two of you get caught up in the moment when he swiftly picks up the pace.
His hips arch violently, while yours sink - your bodies moving silk.
“Unghh, oh god, yes-yes-yes~” you moan.
Suguru’s grip almost feels painful, you know for a fact that he’ll be marking your hips with a few bruises. “Gonna cum-” he rasps, “s-shit, I’m fucking close-fucking close-”
Your pussy tightens, practically holds his dick in a death grip that makes release a broken moan. His cock contracts upon his release, the sensation bringing you to the edge of yours as the muscles in your lower belly and inner thighs spasm around him. You leave crescents on his skin, your bodies shaking as you both take a second to breathe coming down from your climax.
You collapse into him, his arms circling behind you, with his racing heart pulsing into your own. He moves so you’re laying side by side, your body sandwiched between him and the couch since he takes up most of the room. You rest your cheek against his shoulder, feeling him grow soft inside you.
Your stuttering breath finally finds a resting poin when he brings your hand and holds it against his heart.
“Where do we go from here?” You whisper with a kiss to his neck.
“Whatever you decide, we’ll figure out.” Suguru answers sincerely.
“I can’t marry Naoya,” you admit out loud, shocked for actually saying it for the very first time. “And I can't share you with anyone else - it already kills me having to do so.”
Suguru looks down at you, a reassuring smile resting on his lips. “There won’t be anyone else.”
“I can't just...leave. I can't just drop everything and walking away. It isn’t going to be easy-” you add on, “It’ll take me some time.”
“I can wait”
“It might get messy…”
“When is it ever not?”
“But we’ve never been in a relationship-” you insist, logic breaking through the barrier of your happiness. “How do we know if this will even work out properly? What if this thing between us fades?”
“I guess we’re both taking a gamble here…”
You both stare into the other’s eyes.
“Do you think it’s worth the risk?” You ask.
Suguru’s face softens but he leans forward to kiss your forehead.
“I think it’s worth a try.”

TWO YEARS LATER
“You running out on Naoya on your wedding night is still the hot topic.” Kento explains over the phone, “People kept bringing it up, and for whatever reason they just can't seem to get over it.”
The guilt in your stomach twists into a very small knot, over time the size of it has shrunk to a point where you not longer carry any remorse regarding your scheming behavior.
You had a plan, and the plan worked.
"Let's not forget who was there to help..." you contend, disregarding the negativity surrounding your decision.
After you and Suguru spoke, you decided to carry on the facade, agreeing to the engagement and soon after the wedding with Naoya Zen'in. All the while you and Suguru were busy planning your way to cut and run. He cashed in your unsigned checks, and you pilfered a decent amount of the wedding budget which you kept into a seperate savings account.
You played the role as obedient daughter well, and no one was the wiser.
“Besides, I maintain that it's still the best decision I ever made,” you reply, stepping out of your room and into the kitchen where you are greeted by the sound of clinking dishes.
Your eyes shift to Suguru - his hair far longer now, flowing beautifully down his back, the front layers tied into a small bun. You smell dinner in the air, and your stomach grumbles with anticipation.
Nanami doesn't reply, but you can hear that he's distracted from the television in the background.
“What are you watching?” you ask your friend.
The man simply sighs.
“Nothing.”
“Doesn’t sound like nothing with that reaction. Is it Satoru’s new drama show?”
At the mention of his best friend you notice your lover glance over his shoulder, quietly tilting his head to direct you towards him. You smile his way, your feet pattering against the hardwood floor as you move closer to him. He bundles one arm around your shoulder, keeping you close while continuing to sauté the vegetables in the pan.
He kisses the top of your head.
“It’s all the rage,” you add on to your phone call, “Suguru and I plan on watching the next episode tonight.”
Kento remains quiet.
You release yourself from Suguru’s grasp, and instead hop onto the kitchen counter right next to him.
He reduces the heat and picks up the lid before covering the pan.
“I’m guessing you two haven’t-”
“No,” Kento curtly replies. “Not since that night…”
“I’m sorry”
“Don’t be,” he responds with frustration. “I screwed it up”
“You know I could just ask Sugu too reach out-”
“ Don’t,” Kento sighs regrettably. “It doesn’t matter. I heard he’s moved on”
You quirk your brow, your eyes shifting to Suguru who was back to chopping some fresh herbs.
“Oh?”
“It’s for the best I guess,” Kento reassures. “He should be happy with whoever-the-fuck he chooses.”
“You deserve happiness too, Kento.”
“You can be happy for the both of us,” he replies, gulping down a drink. “Anyway, I’ve got to go. I’m meeting my lawyer for dinner.”
“When are you going to visit us next?”
“Probably around November, December. I just need a few things to ease up on my end-”
You bite your bottom lip, “I look forward to it.”
“Take care, love”
“You too, Ken.”
You hang up the phone and lean your head against the cupboard as you watch Suguru rinse his hand, a trail of crimson spiraling down the faucet.
“I cut my finger”
You pick up a clean towel by your side, and gesture him towards you.
Suguru extends his thumb out, and you curl the fabric over to keep pressure on the small cut.
“You ought to be careful”
“Your legs are a distraction,”
You stare up at him playfully, and he leans down to kiss the corner of your lips.
“How’s Nanami?”
Your lover is indebted to your friend. If it wasn’t for Nanami, the two of you wouldn’t have been able to set up this comfortably. He’s the one who found you the humble two-story abode in Hokkaido, and was also the person who set up your personal bank accounts while ensuring that you would both have a safe and quick getaway on the night of your almost-wedding.
“Fine, I think-” you reply, before removing the towel to check the damage. Thankfully, it wasn't anything serious. A little deeper than a paper cut.“Licking his wounds over a broken heart, but fine.”
Suguru reaches for the drawer next to you, and pulls out the emergency band aids. You reach for the box in his hand, taking out one and removing the plaster from the back. You secure it around his cut, and Suguru holds your fingers between his.
He arches down to kiss your brow. “Thank you, sweetheart.”
“You’re welcome, handsome”
“Dinner will be ready in a few if you want to set the table”
You nod your head in acknowledgement, and drop down onto the ground before proceeding with your task.
You set the place mats down, a bowl for the soup and another for the rice and cooked vegetables. Your finger traces the rim of the one in front of your seat, a tiny chip from when you accidentally dropped it in the sink while cleaning it a few weeks ago.
Fragments of these blemishes are all around you - making you almost forget that you once lived in a perfect, curated bubble. But you would take these flaws over everything else. These markings may be worn, but they are a reminder of the home you've been building.
A home that is entirely yours.
“Baby, you want a drink?” Suguru calls from the kitchen.
“Melon soda, please” you reply, placing the bowl down.
“We’re out, I’ve got to pick some up tomorrow.”
“What are you having?”
“A beer,” he chuckles, and it sends a tremor of joy between the valves of your heart.
“I’ll share yours”
Suguru pulls out the bottle, cracking the cap off as he pops it using the side of the kitchen counter to do so.
You two meet each other halfway in the space that you've been nesting in. Suguru’s eyes never leave yours when he takes the first sip, and once done he passes the chilled bottle towards you.
“Am I ever going to have you back in the kitchen helping me with dinner?”
You shake your head no, and bite at the lip of the bottle before taking a sip. “I thought we agreed I was a hazard after the raw chicken fiasco and the almost-fire debacle…”
He laughs, “no, you agreed. I said it wasn’t a big deal”
“You just said that because you love me,” you respond, pressing the bottle into his chest as he takes it from your hand.
“That goes without saying…” he answers, slinging his arm around your waist and pulling you into his frame.
You lift yourself up on your toes, and kiss his nose.
“Do you think it’s worth the risk of me attempting to cook for you again?” You whisper against his lips.
Suguru smiles, a hand cupping your cheek as he leans forward to seal his reply with a kiss.
“I think it’s worth the try”

[ChillOmenstober] Day 10: "Yellow"
↓Companion text (410 words under the cut!)↓
They have met, a long time ago. But fate doomed them.
In a world where a demon can remember and see his other half.
In a world where his other half would never see nor recognise the demon.
.
.
.
“Great warrior, I know you didn’t want anything more than the price we had previously discussed for your protection. But my family and I are now back home, safe and sound, and for that I will feel indebted to you forever. Please, accept this small gift.”
Aziraphale was about to object, but when he saw the item his now former client was presenting to him, his words failed him. The old woman had a soft chuckle. Then she took his large, powerful hand in her thin and fragile ones, and put the gift in his wide palm.
“Please. Take it. I specially asked my nephew to craft it while we were traveling. He barely rested at night just to be sure you could have it before your departure.”
Aziraphale looked at the golden chain and its two red and vermeil flowers, a species he couldn’t recall the name. Delicate, marvellous. Obviously expensive. When he accepted a month ago to escort this family of craftsmen and jewellers, he wouldn’t have expected to earn such a chef-d’oeuvre.
“I-I can’t. I have to refuse.”
Yet, he couldn’t keep his mesmerised eyes off it. And the woman seemed not even surprised, wearing a broad and proud smile.
“You are a trustworthy protector, Sir Aziraphale. During our travel, your focus never broke. Except this time at the Siwa market, when you met that little one who was selling flowers. I saw you buy their entire stock, then giving it all them back and keeping only one flower for yourself. I would bet my best camel that this plant is now dried and well-stored in your package.”
Once again, he found himself unable to speak – the old lady was definitely too much perceptive for her own good. Or maybe it was his entire fault, being too oblivious. Maybe both.
“Please excuse a old hag’s curiousness, but why these flowers?”
He stilled, flabbergasted – he didn't even know why. He stared back at the jewels, made of vermeil and a curious sort of reddish gold, mimicking almost flawlessly the flowers he saw the other day.
“Why these ones? Well, I'm afraid I don’t know.”
Fiery colours – a touch of red, and a wonderful yellow.
“…They’re pretty.”

when his eyes open
joel miller x f!reader | masterlist
summary: joel wakes and admires you and the morning.
wordcount: <600 warnings: joeticness, a little angst, a little twisty. an: dedicated to @joelscruff, who told me this was one of her favourite gifs when i asked for inspo for my first ever giflet. for info on giflet's, see @morallyinept's list here. gif credit to the wonderful, amazing @perotovar.
Before, the routine had been to simply make it through.
To survive another day in a place where crimson clings to clotted wounds, where weeds choke signs as rot consumes all that once lived.
There are names that linger on his lips. Indelibly stained, carved deep inside him. Never forgotten, each a raw wound with grief around them that throbbed incessantly. Each woven into the very fabric of his soul.
When his eyes close, a horror movie plays on repeat. Blood-soaked shirts and the crack in his voice when he shouts. The snarl in his throat when skulls shatter and bodies break. In these brutal moments, he found himself living again, in a way that's both savage and necessary, the violence a perverse affirmation of his existence.
Plaguedtormented.
Then he wakes, and the truth crashes down—it’s not a movie, but his life. A routine he trudged through for so long until he found this place. A place where sunrise doesn’t mean pack up and move. Where golden light caresses the room he’s been given, kisses the guitar that has built callouses instead of his gun. Light falls softly on things he’s crafted with his hands, hands that once only knew how to take and destroy.
Joel wakes in a room, inside of a home, that’s now his.
A younger him might have given more for the kindness shown to him. The sacrifices he made would have felt meaningful, the blood spilt a necessary price. But now, the weight of his sins, the lives he’s shattered, and the innocence long lost have left him hollow. Acts of kindness feel like a cruel jest, an echo from a life he can barely remember, a life he feels he no longer deserves. In this quiet dawn, amidst the gentle light, he is haunted by the shadows of what he’s become.
But he's tired, worn. The face that greets him in the mirror is now aged, beaten down, and scorched by the relentless elements. Not that you seem to care.
You, who, as his lashes lift and focus, he finds reading for the second time this week. Twisted away from him, the book tilted to catch the sunlight so you don’t strain your eyes. You’d traded for it, your thumb lifting the corner of the page before dragging it to the opposite side—so loud in the quiet.
Joel doesn’t need to steal a moment, but he does all the same. He’s so used to taking, after all.
He admires how the years have been a little kinder to you than they have to him. How you are a rare sweetness in a world that knows only bitterness. A thing that would have been coveted before and is now more than cherished. He appreciates you when his body doesn’t betray him, when age doesn’t force his eyes closed as his spine meets the bed. But when he can, when he’s able, he leaves marks that’ll last for days—a prickly burn on your inner thighs as you weave your fingers into the hair he’s not allowed to cut. When he holds you so tightly atop him, he knows you can trace the bruises he’s left.
You leave your own marks too. One of them from simply looking at him, showing him that smile—the one that could stop a younger man's heart.
He waits for another page to turn, eyes closing and reopening before he slides his palm over your knee.
Morning, you say.
Morning, he replies.
A new routine, one he doesn’t hate, yet it haunts him with its simplicity and its promise of a fragile peace.

Seriously, how does one get so damned wealthy? Here's an 1899 mansion in San Francisco, CA with 10bds, 7ba, 11,155 sq ft, $29m (Price reduced!).
So many floors! I'm wondering if that space by the stairs w/the chair inside, was once an elevator, b/c the listing doesn't mention anything.
I know that it's been updated, but I just can't help getting that "dated" feel, even w/the modern furnishings.
There's a dining area at the far end of this room.
And, it opens to this enclosed sunroom.
This dining room looks like a restaurant.
This must be another kitchen, b/c it's doesn't match the kitchen they show. I like the marble.
The main kitchen was remodeled in blue and white. Nice. Looks like blue quartz counters and backsplash.
This must be the huge primary bedroom.
Cute mini tub room.
Double marble sink. Tell me that's a stool and not a toilet in the middle.
Walk-in closet with makeup vanity.
Large home office. Too much gray carpet in this home. Looks like there's a fireplace on the right. Nice ceiling art.
Interesting sink.
Here's an interesting room. Looks like there's a bar behind the sofa.
Very nice sitting room on the top level.
Large outdoor terrace with a view of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Another beautiful room. My favorite, so far.
This is pretty. Love the colors.
Lots of areas to sit in.
Very nice laundry room, too.
In a home this large, there're always mini kitchens.
Side entrance to the home has a porch area. The 5,776 sq ft lot is mostly taken up by the building, but w/all the large outdoor terraces, I guess it's compensated for.
There's the Golden Gate Bridge lit up at night.

Falling Apart (Lilia Calderu x reader)
Chapter four
Available on AO3
Warnings? - Light smut
Lilia blinked. How was she off the road? Where even was she? She had a cup of herbal tea by her side. The divination witch brought it to her nose and sniffed it. Scanning her eyes around the room, the curly haired woman stared at the fire. it was a cosy set up. Homely. But far out of her price range and that made her wonder. Suddenly she felt a head nestled against her neck. She jumped and the figure behind her gave a soft throaty chuckle. Lilia turned her head so that she she could see the figures face. Her mouth fell open. It was you. Snuggling against the older witch like it was merely habit. Lilia could smell the perfume coming from you. "It's nearly time... again." You frowned in a purr and wrapped your arms around her. "I'm certain you enjoy it more then I do." You smirked smugly and kissed her neck. Lilia found herself smiling... Enjoying the gentleness of it.
As Lilia leaned into your light touches, your eyes changed into that gorgeous golden colour that made her swoon. But your didn't turn into slits, in fact they were rather wide. Almost as if you were admiring her in this state. She felt your claw-like fingers dig in to her slightly. "Minnie." You paused, walking around the chair to face the divination witch. You lowered and sat on her legs. Stroking her cheek, Your eyes returned to normal and you softened. Lilia opened her mouth then closed it. You tilted your head. Confused by her hesitance.
The older witch fixed your glasses and you leaned into her extended touch. Welcoming it. "We can stop. Watch a movie? Cuddle instead?" You started to list off various ways to spend the evening. But you didn't seem disappointed. You seemed happy. Lilia laughed suddenly and kissed your lips. You were silenced. You leaned in and your demeanour changed once more. Almost becoming predatory and Lilia caught herself revelling in it. Your mouth travelled to her neck. Sharp fangs trailed along her pale flesh. Heat pooled in her stomach. Your eyes stayed trained on her face. Looking for any kind of regret or hesitance. Lilia bit her lips shut as her hands pulled her on your thick locks, trying to suppress her moans. Smirking smugly, you bit deep in her her neck. Drawing a little bit of blood. Her fingers tangled in your hair as she let out a weakened yelp of your name. Your rough tongue licked away the sweet red liquid. "I think we can both agree I'm better then a vampire." Lilia smirked at your smug comment and gently guided your chin towards her. She kissed you, slightly desperate. Her fingers weaved their way out of your hair and towards your light purple dress. Unbuttoning it.
When Lilia reopened her eyes, everything changed. Everyone in the coven was staring at her. Why? What just happened. Her eyes were incredibly glazed over and she blinked in away. She noticed your hands were on her elbows. Holding her upright. Your brows were tight and your eyes were full of concern. When she looked back at the group she noticed the mix of judgemental and pitiful looks. "Lilia?" You whisper her name softly, drawing her attention to you. The older woman didn't bother to mask her confusion. "Are you alright? You stopped walking then... yelped my name? Did something bad happen? Do you remember?" You questioned slowly. Carefully. Trying not to overwhelm the older woman.
Lilia swallowed and grounded herself. "Pardon?" She asked, beyond confused and Agatha groaned in annoyance. Your head snapped in her direction as you glared daggers at the woman. Agatha waved you off. "I... do not remember." Lilia managed out. It was the truth. She couldn't remember.. it was just blank. And it frustrated her. You gave a tight smile. Telling Lilia is was okay.
"Okay!? It's not okay! She could have seen something terrible and our only clue is your name!" Jennifer snapped and stormed towards you without thinking. You glare and stand straight ready to defend the older woman behind you. Agatha bit the inside of her cheeks. As much as she hated to admit it. Jennifer had a point. Lilia had yelped your name specifically. What if you were in danger? She glanced a Rio. Eyes almost begging. Rio held her gaze. But didn't react. it was almost chocking. "It's not my fault, dopey here can't remember." She said lowly. Agatha laughed at her comment.
"Say that again, Kale, and I'll turn you into a mushroom next." You snapped at the potions witch. Jennifer stared wide eyed as you got defensive. "I pity you, Jennifer." Your hiss cut through her. Everyone went quiet. The threat of being turned into mushroom is something that would usually make one laugh. But seeing what you did to those goblins still played in their heads. Lilia also stared wide eyed at your threat. And just like that.. The group continued walking. You let out a breath you didn't realise you were holding. "Come on.." You hummed at the older witch. Walking by your side, The older woman stayed close. Alice joined your huddle and the three of you walked in a line. You could see the next trial in view. You shared a glance with Lilia. But before anyone could continue, Alice walked off. Clearly not wanting to go into that house. "Alice!" You called after her but the younger witch didn't listen. Agatha chased after the young protection witch while you stood like a fool.
The group followed after Agatha and Alice but the road led back to the next trial... Like magic. You suddenly felt nervous. No escape. Agatha shrugged as she slowly began to walk down the road. You took a deep breath and followed your old mother figure. As you approached the doors of the house. You glanced around as Agatha talked about the moon on the door. "The fire phase." Teen announced and you fiddled with your rings. Alice looked incredibly nervous. You softened and watched the young witch. Agatha opened the door and walked inside. You gave Alice's arm a gentle squeeze before walking inside. You gasped once you looked at your clothes. You were no longer covered in sticky green blood and you felt fresh. You smiled. Feeling clean. You then looked to your clothing. You were wearing fur coat and a flowy dress. Your heels were high. Almost to high to walk in. "Don't eat anything. Don't drink anything. Don't touch anything." Alice ordered. Rio smirked.
Agatha wasted no time in looking in the mirror. "Check me out!" She grinned as she checked herself up and down in the mirror. You stared for a moment. Lilia did not look like herself. Her hair was cut short and was pitch black. She wore a silver jump suit that hugged her curves with a yellow covering. Her neckline was a low v that showed the slightest bit of cleavage and wore jewellery that looked like diamonds. You felt your cheeks heat up the more you looked the older witch over. It suited her. She looked beautiful. Lilia noticed you staring and were quick to look away, clearing your throat.
"I mean, we're an album cover waiting to happen." Teen hummed, impressed. You glanced at the teenager. Cringing at his hair.
Lilia smiled at the boy. "The road changes for the coven." She figured. Rio grinned like mad woman as she asked what was to happen next. You glanced at the divination witch and watched as her smile fell. "A test." she answered with little emotion. Rio rolled her eyes and looked Lilia up down. Catching your attention.
Teen quickly raised his hand "Ooh!" He brightened, clearly having an idea in mind while drawing the attention of the coven. "I was just thinking about the invite on the mantel, maybe there is like a riddle or kick off for this one too?" He thought and he wasn't half wrong. It was a decent suggestion. And with that in mind, you walked around looking for any clues. Your brows furrowed as you noticed Lilia staring at the windows... Windows that held images of dark torture done to your kind and any believed to be your kind for centuries. Slowly you approached the older woman as she stopped in front of a certain window and stared at it. Joining her side, you didn't dare speak a single word. Your ear buzzed when the older woman whimpered and looked away from the sight. You watched her, sorrow in your gaze as she wiped away a tear.
You took in a deep breath. "Life can be cruel." You whispered in an attempt to comfort her. But the older woman didn't respond. Thinking you might have over stepped. You took a step away from Lilia and went to walk away.
"Don't." You stared at her for a moment but she didn't look at you. You question whether you really heard the words or if it was just your imagination. You approached her and stood close. Without warning, her hand fell into yours. You stilled. Unsure of how to react until you gently gave her hand a reassuring squeeze. You wouldn't leave. You would stay until she asked you to leave. Hopefully that would not be soon because for the first time in a long while, both your mind and hers felt at peace. But peace was short lived as Agatha snapped your name. You rolled your eyes. Sighing, You let go of Lilia's hand. Giving the older woman an apologetic look as you left to find Agatha.
Lilia watched you go with her lips in a thin tight line. Sparing one last look at the window, Lilia walked off to see if she could find anything of use. Suddenly, she lost her balance and gripped onto the wall. The world felt like it was spinning. Lilia's hands her no longer gripping the wall but flesh. She jumped back in shock. Her eyes widened as she stared at her.. Unusual position. You were laying beneath her, your wrists tied above your head. She noticed the deep scratch marks on her back. Bleeding ever so slowly. Had you done those? "Lilia?" You ask in a curious tone, you eyes full of worry. Lilia swallowed, staring at your bare chest and shoulders. Heat glowing from her cheeks. She run her hands over the dark red marks. You raised and eyebrow. "Admiring your work?" You laughed and teased. Lilia softened and leaned over you, stroking your cheek. Confused by the sudden change in your lover, you leaned in her gentle touch. "Lilia?" You questioned only to be shut up by a deep kiss. You melted. You struggled momentarily against the bindings against your wrists. The urge to touch her overwhelming.
The older witch smirked into your kiss. Enjoying your desperation "Easy, Kitten, you'll hurt yourself." She whispered in your ear then nibbled your neck. A moan escaped your lips. Lilia's eyes remained soft despite what she was doing to you and that had you hooked like a fool. It was dangerous. Lilia marvelled in the fact that there was no Agatha Harkness to take you from her now. There was nothing that evil woman could do about it now to keep you away from her. Her fingers ran down your sides and your back arched up. You had shut your eyes cause the divination witch to pause. "Let me see your eyes, Baby." She urged you to open your eyes. Golden. The colour they would always go when you would have higher level emotions.
She backed up slightly and made herself comfortable between your legs. You swallowed as her fingers ghost over your thighs as you gasped. So close yet so far from where you had wanted her. A loud slut worthy moan left you when her warm tongue go up your entrance. You hips bucked in your her mouth and she caught your movements quickly. Stilling them. She repeated her licking motion, trying to aim deeper while her fingers teased your clit. You were practically crying her name. "All wet and bothered. So much so that you were forgetting the-" Suddenly the rope snapped. Lilia's eyes widen while you smirked, revealing your large fangs. Cats were often cocky. And you appeared to share the trait. Lilia pulled down on your hair. Exposing your neck. Giving you a look warning in her darkened eyes before kissing you roughly, ignoring your whimpers while her hand messaged your breast.
Suddenly the world was spinning again, she was no longer clutching your marked flesh but a hard cold stone wall. Breathing heavily, the divination witch tried to regain her composure. What... was that. Another vision? But why couldn't she remember? what was important that she would be having so many and not remember? Was she losing her mind? Was everyone right? She took in a deep breath, trying to stop her panting. She straightened and squeezed her eyes shut. There was a trial to complete. She noticed Alice looking at a photo of her mother and approached with a sad smile. Meanwhile, You flicked through some old book that were on the desk. As you did, some speakers went off. You tilted her head and looked up as Rio's voice echoed through the sound waves. "You get your power... and I get my bodies." She spoke seductively. No way in hell. Your nose crinkled. You began to question everything Agatha had planned for you. You glanced at Lilia, Alice and Jennifer. All looking as bewildered as you.
You glared at the recording room, where Rio and Agatha were. Agatha faked a gasp. "Hey! That's my coven you're talking about!" She shouted. "I'm not that kind of witch anymore!" She ended the speakers. Well, you knew that was a lie. The others rushed forward and demanded an explanation. You frowned and kept your eyes on Agatha as your raised an eyebrow. The older witch faked her shrug. Suddenly there was a shrill scratching nose. Damn your overly sensitive ears. You clutched them as you looked around for the source. You were unable to focus and your head felt incredibly light. You felt your senses bounce around in your body. It was until Agatha was stomping on the record player. You breathed out a sigh of relief but your ears were ringing.
"We've been cursed." Lilia said serious. Well, Shite.
--I_I<-)0(->I_I--
Michelle sat by the creak and scrubbed away at the dirty purple skirts Agatha always wore. She ignored the fresh batch of tears running down her cheeks. Huffing annoyed, she thought about little Nickolas scratch. What right had she to mourn? He was Agatha's baby. Not hers. Swallowing thickly she tried to think of other things. Not that sweet little boy whose face was probably being eaten away by the maggots by now. "Michelle." Rio's voice came from behind her. God not her. Anyone but her. Agatha would be furious with her if she dared speak to Rio after what she had done. Rio's brows furrowed when the young woman ignored her. Michelle scrubbed more aggressively. Perhaps if she pretended Rio wasn't there then she's go away. Rio rolled her eyes. "Michelle." She called again before getting no response again. Sighing, Rio took a seat near her.
Exhausted Michelle took her hands out of the water and rested them on her knees. Rio softened and touched the younger woman's only for her to pull away like Rio had burnt her. It hurt Rio to see both of her witches not wanting her touch. "I'm not supposed to talk to you." The transformation witch sighed, defeated. She then hugged her knees and refused to look Death in the eye. Rio watched at she began to nibble at her nails. A bad habit that she always did when she was nervous.
"Stop that." She hissed and pulled Michelle's fingers away from her teeth.
The action also made Michelle accidently look Rio in the eyes. The younger woman held Death's brown gaze. And for the first time, she saw how truly horrible Rio looked. Under her eyes there were bags. Her eyes red from tears. Michelle swallowed as she gently touched Death's cheek. "Why did you do it?" She hissed, tears rolling down her cheeks. Rio's eyes widened and she tried to move away but Michelle had her trapped.
Rio swallowed thickly. "I didn't want to take Nicky." Rio replied looking away, squeezing her eyes shut.
Michelle scoffed. "I didn't ask if you wanted to, Rio." The younger witch snapped at the original green witch. Her eyes then softened and she released her hold slightly. "I.. just want to understand why? Why give us all this time if you were only going to take it all away!" Michelle exclaimed. Rio stared for a moment, gobsmacked.
Brown eyes scanned Michelle's face. "It's balance that must be upheld. Death is unavoidable." She began slowly. "Nicky was a still born, Michelle. I gave him as much time as I could without throwing the balance off too much. It was his time since he left Agatha's body." Rio whispered as she thought about the easiest way to explain this to the transformation witch. "Please understand. He was my son too. I never wanted to...." She swallowed. "I did what I could. I just wish you could both see. I gave Agatha everything. Surely you must see the risk I made for her." Michelle gripped Death's hand tight as she thought about her words. Good god, she was a fool. Slowly Michelle burst into sobs and fell into older woman's body. Why couldn't things just go back to normal. Where it would just be her, Rio, Aggie and Nicky.
The two sat like that for a short while. Michelle wiped her tears. "You should go before Agatha sees you." The younger woman swallowed. Rio nodded. For now she would leave. Rio spared a kiss on her the forehead.
--I_I<-)0(->I_I--
Ticking engulfed the air. You glanced nervously over the group. "Does anybody else feel.... Lighter." Lighter? The hell was the younger woman going on about? If anything, you felt heavier. You brows furrowed and your lips became thin as you watched the younger witch roll her shoulders back. You eyed the younger woman then shared a worried glance with Agatha. Then, before you knew it. Without warning, Lilia began to gasp and scream in pain. The hairs on the back of your neck stood up at the sound of the older witch's noises of agony. Without hesitation you quickly went to her side and aided Alice in lowering the screaming woman to the ground.
"IT BURNS!" Lilia cried out. Jennifer screamed at Alice. Ordering her to protect the Divination witch. The smoke coming from Lilia's body made you panic further. You looked to Alice, Eyes pleading. The younger woman bit the inside of her cheeks then grabbed Rio's knife from her hands. Stabbing it into the wooden flooring, Alice began to drag a circle around Lilia while chanting a protection charm in Latin. You watched in horror as Lilia went still once Alice had completed her circle. You knelt to her level and called her name. Lilia groaned as she sat up slightly. Tears in those wise eyes of hers. You gave a gentle worried smile and offered your hands to her. She accepted your gesture, whimpering as you helped her rise to her feel. Staying inside the circle. You ignored Agatha's piercing eyes.
Teen tried to come up with a solution as Lilia clutched your arms. Her eyes scanning your face. Like she was looking for something. "So breaking a cruse..." He began. "Smudge sticks? A salt bath? What if we locate and reason with the witch that casted the curse?" He hummed his suggestions. Trying to hide his panic.
Agatha sighed, her defences still up. "Once vengeance is loosened, you can't reel it back in." She explained to the teenager. "So what do we do?" Teen asked.
Lilia frowned. "The only way to end a curse is to face it." Lilia turned to look at Alice, you followed her gaze and blinked. Just then, Jennifer also fell as she screamed in utter agony. Your eyes went wide and Lilia's grip on your arm tightened as she watched the scene. Alice was quick to repeat the chant that she did to Lilia to Jennifer. Your nose cringed as you smelt burning flesh. Carving the same protection circle into the floor. Jennifer panted and exclaimed as the burning sensation ended. You breathed heavily and watched it end. Teen was quick to point out the deep horrid scars on Jennifer's shoulders. Lilia tensed and let go of you. "Do I have one too?" She asked worried.
You raised an eyebrow, utterly confused as you took a step back. Lilia reached for the jumpsuits neckline and pulled it down from the shoulder. You looked her up and down and something clogged in your throat. Her burn was deep. Painful to look at. Lilia looked around everyone's faces. Nervous. Your ears twitched and your eyes flickered from normal to golden. Something was here. Something evil. Your teeth gritted and you tensed. You took a subconscious step back, Feeling in danger. Teen shouted about the backwards record and Alice was quick to check what it was but before she could answer Agatha grabbed her and forced the protection witch to look at her. "It's you, isn't it! You brought it in here, didn't you!?" Agatha growled as she kept herself between Alice and the group, ignoring Teen's protests.
"I didn't think it was real!" Alice cried, tears welling in her eyes. "I thought it was me! That it's my fault that I can't keep a job, That everything I touch turns to shit." She spoke with a quiver in her voice. You heart swelled the more you listened to Alice's cries. You noticed Jennifer still. Her dark eyes turning soft as Alice spoke. "That I couldn't save her." She breathed deeply then reached to show you all her own scars on her shoulders. Agatha glared at the marks. "I convinced myself that they were birthmarks." You eyed the scars. The scars that matched Lilia's. "Even though she had the same ones." You frown as she referred to her mother.
Jennifer glared for a moment. "Wait." she frowned, taken aback. "Are we talking about a generational curse?" She asked.
Lilia was the first to take pity on her. "Oh you poor thing-" But that was short lived and Jennifer interrupted the older woman.
"POOR US!" She spat. "Now we have her family's old ass curse!?" She cried in anger.
Alice whispered an apology. Her emotions on high. Suddenly, Teen groaned and the wind picked up. Before you knew it the boy was flung in the air, causing you to gasp as he smashed through a recording studio's window. You followed Agatha's lead as she rushed into the studio. You watched wide eyed as the teenager sat up slightly, Alice ran past you and helped him, moving the glass away from him. "Hey." He smiled weakly. "I got attacked by the curse.. does that mean I'm part of the coven?" He hummed with hope in his eyes. "Blessings and burdens alike." Agatha breathed out in relief. She appeared by your side but did nothing more.
Lilia gave him a strained smile. "Not a lot of blessings with this lot, kid." she hummed and searched the room for your face. You kept looking at the teenager, Unaware of her stare. Agatha noticed though and she did not look overjoyed by the stare. Jennifer shouted. Asking if Teen was okay. Your face tense. She had not left the circle.
Agatha scoffed while leading the group back to the main area. "So what now?" Agatha hissed at the potions witch. "You live in that circle now?" She barked and glared at Jennifer up and down. The potions witch practically nodded along. Rio smirked and leaned into Agatha, asking her what the plan was. Agatha flicked her hair and looked around until her gaze landed on Alice. She was staring at the instruments and suddenly it clicked. "You're right. That's the solution." Agatha pointed out but Alice was quick to disagree. "We have to play Lorna's Ballad." Alice scoffed at her words. "All signs point to a jam session." Agatha shrugged.
Alice looked between you and Lilia. Eyes begging for some sort of help. "What good will it do?" She asked. "The ballad opened the road! We did that. We're here!" She exclaimed, very against singing that song. You sighed and rubbed your forehead. This was giving you a headache.
"Lorna's version is different though." Teen thought out loud.
Agatha thought aloud for a moment. Wondering what Lorna wanted from the road. Alice looked confused as the blue eyed woman circled herself. "To save her daughter." Rio hummed as she played with her knife. Making direct eye contact with Agatha.
Agatha turned to look directly at Alice, her eyes narrowing as she approached the younger woman. "You should have burnt to a crisp years ago but you're still here." The amusement dripped off of her tongue. You frowned. Lovely, Agatha. "Sullen and aimless but alive." You tilted your head as Agatha continued to work out the puzzle. "That's because at any giving moment somewhere, someone is playing that song that you hate so much." Alice's eyes scanned Agatha's face. "Lorna's balled Is a protection spell. It protected you." She hummed.
Looking around, Lilia's eyes filled with slight hope. "And maybe now it can protect us?" She questioned with a soft eager look. You nodded along with their thought process. It could work. It could protect you all. Agatha panicked as another screech echoed through the air. The curse was angered. You flinched and accidently hissed. Agatha asked who was good at piano then immediately looked at Lilia. Lilia gave a light laugh. "Oh no, no. I studied the zils." She smiled widely. You looked over the older witch as she spoke. Amusement layered in your eyes. "And a little pan flute." Pan flute? You smile gently. Forever intrigued by Lilia's many mysteries.
Agatha went on to question the group. Getting more and more frustrated with each dismissal until her eyes made an immediate eye contact with you. You swallowed thickly as you avoided eye contact. "I did not waste getting you all those lessons for you to bail on me now, Minerva." She hissed. You glared for a moment. This was fine... "Now pick up an instrument and play!" She snapped. Damn it. Alice had taken her place by the piano, Teen by guitar, Rio on the drums, Jen on bass and Lilia with her zils. You fixed your glasses and tried to relax yourself. "Oooh! Alice." Agatha spoke while fixing the microphone. "Play it right... Play it well and maybe we wont die." You gave Lilia a gentle look, trying to reassure you both. And with that... Alice began to play.
A few repetitive chords in, Agatha began to yelp in agony. Your eyes widened and you nearly rushed forwards but Lilia grabbed your arm tightly. "Aggie-" You said panicked as she began to burn. Agatha waved you off and you stared gobsmacked as she ordered you all to keep playing. You nearly called her name again but resisted the urge. Agatha began to sing and your brows furrowed in fear as she panted her words. You began to play while keeping your gaze fixed on the witch that had raised you.
As the song continued, The curse grew more angered. Biting the inside of your cheeks, you tried to hide your nerves. A yelp went through you as fire scorched up through the walls. "GREAT!? FIRE!" Lilia cried, her fears matching yours. Agatha glared at Alice, commanding her to play like a true witch. As Agatha continued to sing, you kept focus on your instrument. You ears twitched and you gritted your teeth as another shrill screech echoed through the air. Suddenly a smell lurked around the room but the others seemed oblivious to it. You cringed at the smell of metallic blood. What the hell? You scanned each member. Your eyes locked onto Teen's. The boy held your gaze. You tilted your head but didn't immediately notice anything weird. You went back to focus on playing. When you glanced in Lilia's direction, You noticed she had a different percussion instrument and had to blink twice to make sure you won't going mad.
Alice gasped suddenly and stopped playing. "The curse!" She managed to get out. "I see it. I can see it." She whispered in disbelief as the curse screeched. "I can kill it." She smiled in determination. With those words, Alice began to play and sing once more, raising the song with a key change. Before you knew it, The younger woman's shoulders were on fire. You took a step back in fear. The room suddenly felt ridiculously hot as the fire on Alice's shoulders worsened. Alice finished the song with a perfect belt. The curse suddenly went silent and turned into ash, falling like snow. The ticking ended and everyone let out a sigh of relief. Agatha chuckled, relieved it was gone. The piano then opened, catching you by surprise. "The exit!" She smiled, overjoyed.
The Teenager smiled but looked deathly pale. "We did it... Yay." He said weakly. Teen's balance wobbled and his eyes rolled back into his head. You were quick to catch the boy before he hit the ground. You looked around his body and noticed the shard of glass. Shit. Your hands immediately went to the wound in a pathetic effort to put pressure of on the wound. The coven began to panic. Agatha most of all.
Managing to exit the trial, You all made a group effort to carry the teenager over to tree stump and laid him down. Convenient. But you paid little mind to it. You bit the inside of your cheeks as you took the glass shard out of his side. As you did you transfigured into a cloth and held it against the open wound. There was so much blood. You pressed down. Trying to place as much pressure as you could onto the wound. "What else can we do? What else can we do?" Agatha asked in a hurry, Supporting teen's head.
Lilia fidgeted and tried to offer the blue eyed witch support. "He's young... He's strong." but that was not received well as Agatha wasted no time snapping at the divination witch. Causing the grey haired witch to flinch and retreat momentarily.
"Don't!" Agatha spat then her gaze fell on Rio. Her tears ran down her cheeks as her eyes softened. Rio tilted her head. seemingly take back by Agatha's vulnerability. "Don't." It was weak.. almost like a beg. "Jen." Agatha sobbed towards the potions witch. "What do you need, Jen? What do you need?" She cried as Jennifer began to debate on the best approach to heal Teen but the potion witch's mind was blank in her shock and panic. "Jen!" Agatha yelled, desperate. Jennifer stammered as she thought. Stammering about water and moonlight. Alice wasted no time in finding something bowl like and finding a puddle for water. Rio watched in interest. "Hurry! Hurry!" Agatha urged. You looked to the older witch and your lips became thin. Once Alice gave Jennifer what she needed, the potion's witch wasted no time as she stood under the moonlight and began to chant in Latin. You could of sworn that Lilia had said something but you had just missed it. Too focused on the situation at hand. Once Jennifer had finished, she swatted your hands and cloth away from the wound and began to rinse it with the water. Teen groaned in agony and Agatha barked at the potions witch. "You're making it worse!" She yelled.
You touched Agatha's arm and the woman stilled, desperate eyes meeting yours. Agatha breathed heavily as she watched Jennifer rinse the wound. You tilted your head as it began to close. Your eyes widened and your smiled, relieved. You glanced at Agatha as she leaned against you. Searching for some sort of comfort. With a wipe of a cloth. The wound was gone. Like it had never even been in the first place. "Look what you did." Lilia said as pride swelled in her eyes as se spoke to Jennifer. Jennifer smile in disbelief.
"We should move him somewhere more comfortable." Jennifer whispered and the group nodded in agreement.
--I_I<-)0(->I_I--
After collecting more wood for the fire, You re-joined the group in their huddle. Lilia's eyes glistened as she noticed your approach and she patted the spot next to her. Welcoming you to sit by her side. You accepted the gesture but sat on the floor beside her rather then on the rock. Leaning your back against it. Rio watched you like a hawk. Not once had you attempted to speak her. In fact, it was as if you weren't even acknowledging her. You groaned exhausted, still covered in blood. You tried to catch up to the conversation at hand. "I never really just identified as a witch." Jennifer was talking deep in thought. You tilted your head. This was the first time you were seeing the softer side of the Potion's witch and you defiantly preferred it. "I'm an eleventh generation root worker and a midwife." You let a weak smile escape at her words. Lilia's face lit up and she looked almost excited as she took in Jennifer's words. Practically interested when the potion's witch mentioned about being a midwife.
Alice softened. Looking absolutely bewitched as Jennifer spoke. "How were you bound?" The protection witch asked, intrigued. Her head tilting as she watched Jennifer.
You shifted, also now very interested about the topic at hand. Jennifer thought for a moment. As if she were debating what to share. "I was invited to the brand new obstetrics association of greater Boston." She sighed as she kept her gentle gaze on Alice. "To share my expertise." You watched with the tiniest of pity as the potion witch frowned. "It was a trap. I still don't know how he did it. Bound me without Magic." Her thoughts ran with her and you could see the wheels turning in her head. She took in a deep breath. "so much for 'do no harm'" She hummed sarcastically. Your smile became thin at her words.
The protection Witch hugged herself and smiled. Almost as if comforting herself. "When Mom died, I stopped believing everything she ever taught me." Your brows furrowed at her words. Poor thing. "I was so angry." She whispered then shrugged. "Part of me hoped that the road wasn't real. So that I could stay angry." Jennifer watched as Alice went quiet, concern in her eyes. "Because..." Alice trailed off, unable to find a reason.
Lilia gave a small comforting smile to the younger woman. "Now you know... It was all for you." Alice rocked slightly and smiled weakly. It was a comforting thought. To know that her mother did it all for her. "And that makes you sad..." Lilia continued. "Sad is better then angry." You glance up at the divination witch. Your eyes scanning her face. Alice nodded along to Lilia's words
"Here." Jennifer hummed and gave Alice a bowl... of something. "Put this on your pressure points." Alice looked utterly confused and asked why. "Because it smells nice." She grinned at the protection witch. Alice became slightly flustered and thanked the older witch. Jennifer then looked at your and tilted your head her head. "How come you weren't brunt today?" She asked curiously. To your surprised, Jennifer wasn't rude about her question, simply intrigued.
Thinking for a moment, you took off your glasses and wiped them down. "Well, I think it would be correct in thinking that I wasn't burnt because I am not apart of the coven." You hummed as you thought about what could be the cause. Lilia's eyes snapped to you. Alice looked confused and questioned why that was. You placed with your claw-like nails. "Transformation witches are... sometimes seen as lesser witches. But that all differs on opinion. The most we are supposed to do is transform into an animal that matches our soul with a few other magical abilities. However, there are others that are given way more gifts. The most well known one being Michelle Smith. My older sister. She always preferred the word Transfiguration instead of transformation. Not that it made a difference." You explained, seriously. Rio tensed slightly at the mention of your older sister. Jennifer seemed confused and shared a look with Alice and Lilia. "We are seen as guides for a coven but never as a member. I don't know why. It just.... has always been. Perhaps it's because we're sometimes seen as more animal then witch. There has never been a coven that has accepted a transformation witch as proper member." You shrugged and sighed.
Lilia twisted her rings as you spoke. Her eyes flickered over your form as you finished. "Well," She began slowly. "Then our coven will be the first." She hummed, determined. You stared at the divination witch for a moment. Your eyes were full of admiration. Rio raised an eyebrow and she cleared her throat causing the two of you to stop staring at each other. In an attempt to lighten the air, Lilia changed the subject. "You know, the worst part apart being a witch?" She asked. "All the misconceptions and rumour mongering. That we talk to ghosts." you smirked as the grey hair curly witch complained. "That we've all got an extra nipple." She hissed. You chuckled under your breath.
Rio straightened and stopped playing with her knife. "You guys don't have extra nipples?" She asked. "I'm covered in nipples." Lilia cringed heavily as the green witch spoke. "You wanna see?" She asked the divination witch. Smirking slightly.
The conversation continued and the fire was glowing bright. The group had moved on to talking about the scars each member had gained over the years. Lilia smiled widely. "Check this out." She hummed proudly and revealed her lower neck. You raised an eyebrow at the sight of the scar. A puncture wound on her neck. "A vampire bite." You felt your chest grow bitter at the sight of the vampire's mark. "Right before I knocked out his other tooth." Alice and Jennifer laughed, Alice had moved spots a little to sit closer to the potions witch. Lilia softened as she went into her thoughts. "You know... we really kind of hated each other at the beginning but now-" The woman stopped. As if she had been paused. Now? You watched her as she zoned out completely. Alice and Jennifer laughed and you couldn't help but join in. When Lilia returned she gave the group the most innocent look of confusion. You grinned. "Huh?"
Jennifer laughed lightly. "Lilia... Where do you go?" She asked. Just then, Agatha returned and Your eyes locked with blue. She looked exhausted with worry. Alice asked how the teenager was. Agatha shrugged saying about him being mouthy. You grinned and leaned back slightly. "Agatha, why don't you show us your battle scars." Jennifer urged the older witch.
Agatha grinned and rolled up her sleeve and revealed her scar on her elbow. "knitting needle to the elbow. Ever heard of the daughters of liberty?" She asked. When the group denied she smirked. "Exactly." You smiled widely. A part of you missed this. Then she pulled up her shirt slightly to reveal a large... canine bite wound. "Coyote." You stilled when the animal left Agatha's mouth. She had said it almost fondly? Rio eyed the scar then immediately looked away. Almost as if she were ashamed.
"I've got a scar." Rio suddenly said.
"No, you don't." Agatha said bitterly.
"Yes, I do." Rio argued back.
Alice and Jennifer shared a glance. And with that Rio began her story. "A long time ago, I loved someone. And I had to do something I really didn't want to. Even though it was my job." You watched as Rio swallowed. Completely ashamed. Like a kicked puppy. "And it hurt them. She is my scar." She glance over to Agatha. You softened as you watched the two. Agatha left to go stretch her legs and you frowned. Looking between the two. That... was it?
Rio rolled her eyes and cleared her throat. Chasing after Agatha. But before she could get much further, Lilia grabbed her arm. Her eyes narrowed. "Don't think for a second that I've forgotten what you said in the sound booth." Lilia said seriously. You watched the interaction closely. Your eyes narrowed. Rio scoffed and pulled her arm away, Hissing at the older woman as she did. You hissed back catching the original green witch off guard. She stared for a moment the left. You glared as she did. Lilia looked greatly uncomfortable.
Silence fell amongst the group. You sighed and began to play with your nails once more. "So... Since you turn into a cat and share the... traits.. does that mean you get a heat?" you coughed at Jennifer's question, despite how innocently she asked.

𝓪 𝓼𝔀𝓮𝓮𝓽 𝓼𝓾𝓷𝓭𝓪𝔂'𝓼 𝓶𝓪𝓻𝓰𝓲𝓷𝓪𝓵𝓲𝓪 𝓸𝓯 𝓵𝓸𝓿𝓮 .𖥔 ݁ ˖
❤︎ wriothesley x gn!reader 0.7k words farmer's market day with wriothesley. reader gets a necklace, but this is gn.
market days with wriothesley were a highly anticipated day within the household – they were sunny days spent at bustling stalls, whenc shopkeepers haggled their prices at haughty customers who walked away with their smiles until they got the price they wanted, their grocery lists scratched out.
you loved the sights of it all, too – cats nipping at fishermen’s boots for sardines, and pigeons longing for their chance at some breadcrumbs from a clumsy child chasing after mama.
stalls stretched out in rows to the end of the market. they were full of the freshest vegetables, stacked full with rows of yellow corn and the brightest of carrots. even the locals beekeepers brought their stocks of the sweetest, golden honey – which were rare to find nowadays.
and of course, you took great pleasure in teaching wriothesley how to choose the best of the best; he adored simply listening to you ramble on and on about recipes you wanted to make that week; it just made market days even more exciting.
“keep up, sweetheart!” you squeal, ducking behind a grocery-seller’s stall – while raking your gaze over the assortment of sweet potatoes and broccoli for the week. you gave one a poke of good luck.
“you are cheeky today, aren’t you?” wriothesley catches your sides, panting quietly and catching his breath. you could only giggle in response and press an apologetic kiss to his cheek. apology kisses, of course, were always forgiven.
alright, market days were great and all, but what you could truly spend all your afternoons doing was walking up and down the aisles of the next lane’s craft market. hundreds of artists and creators flocking to tents to share their handcrafted goodness with the city – what was there not to like? some days there were adorable prints, other days beaded jewellery and bags and everything under the sun you could possibly think of.
perhaps a resplendent trinket from one of the jewellers would catch your eye, making you stop in your tracks.
well, maybe not yours this time – but it certainly caught wriothesley’s attention.
“love, look at this,” he holds up a necklace with all the care he could muster – oh, how beautiful. it was a simple necklace; translucent string with three white pearls and a small black bead between each one. every pearl reminded you of him ; a beautiful opalescent cream, bearing a gift from the sea and a homage to the ruler of the waters.
“that’s beautiful, wriothesley.” you hear yourself gasp softly, your hands reaching out to cradle the pearls. it was stunning, truly. you find yourself offering the crafter a small smile in gratitude.
“it is, isn’t it?” wriothesley smiles and beckons you over with a simple gesture; you find yourself standing in front of him.
“turn around,” he instructs – you follow suit. there was something so lovely about the shared proximity in public; even after all these years, your lover still never failed to tease the butterflies that nestled in your tummy.
you feel wriothesley touch the back of your neck as he brings the necklace up ; you instinctively freeze up, a soft giggle escaping your lips.
“i’m sorry, dearest.” wriothesley chuckles, fastening the clasp behind your neck. you feel the weight of the necklace press against your skin comfortably – it was perfect. almost as if it was carved and put together just for you.
the man presses a soft and gentle kiss to your nape for good measure. it felt warm and supple – oh, the butterflies were certainly awake now.
“it’s beautiful.” you touch the pearls once more, staring at yourself in the mirror with a smirking wriothesley behind it.
“my taste never lies.”
“it truly doesn’t. impeccable taste, my love.” you thumb his lips and pull him closer for a quick kiss, feeling a warmth between your ribs.
“i think we’ll take this one.” wriothesley pulls apart, slightly delirious with a grin and giving the jeweller a small nod.
you laugh and bury your head into his chest, leaning against his frame. oh, how warm and lovely market days were. you would spend every day in this little bubble of yours, this sweet marginalia of love in a footnote of your adoration for him.
“i think i like this one very much.” a soft giggle slips past your lips. wriothesley pokes your chest gently, smoothing your hair back to kiss your forehead.
“i think i like this one very much, too.”

Kinktober - {Day Nine}
{<- kinktober masterlist}
18+ ---- {Masterlist} {Tag-List} {Kinktober}
{Harwin Strong x Daemon Targaryen x F!Reader} Request {Anon}: Harwin & Daemon with 6 & 25 ... pleaseee
~ This anon has impeccable TASTE ~
1.8k words - Kinks: whore!reader, praise kink & oral fixation...
"Hurry! Hurry! Or you will miss out on a heavy coin purse," A man's voice carried from across the main room of the brothel, a chorus of laughter following suit.
The smell of incense wafted through the air, masking the smell of sex and sweat. Candles lit the main room, bathing the red and pink walls and fabrics in a golden hue. It was the kind of environment you could get lost in. Music played from the far corner, where a young man plucked away at a harp, the music drowning out the sound of skin on skin and muffled moans that came from the many private rooms.
"What do I get in return for my haste?" You asked the man, leaning on your elbows, pushing your cleavage together as you leaned over. He was rather large, burly and bearded, and all together handsome. The man across from him was instantly recognizable, even with his silver hair hidden beneath a dark grey cloak, it was impossible not to recognize the crown prince, a regular patron of yours.
"My friend is celebrating his name day, and I promised him a night of pleasure with the most beautiful whore in the whole of Westeros." The prince said, a smirk on his lips. "And that is you,"
"That's entirely a matter of opinion." You smirked. "What is your friend's name, my prince?"
"Ser Harwin Strong, of the City Watch." Daemon introduced the handsome, broad-shouldered knight next to him.
"A pleasure to meet you, ser." You said, your eyes never leaving the handsome knight.
"Come now, we mustn't keep Harwin waiting any longer." Daemon said, holding out his hand, his gaze flicked up to the stairs as another girl came down, followed by a young man, who she led away by his belt.
"You'll get no argument from me," You smirked and stood, and the men both followed, watching the way your sheer dress shifted with each movement.
You led them into one of the larger, nicer rooms, since you knew they could afford the extra coin, and the moment the door was shut behind you, the prince threw his cloak off, and Harwin did the same.
"What does the Crown Prince and a handsome knight want from me tonight?" You asked, moving towards the bed and taking a seat, looking up at them expectantly.
"How about you use that pretty mouth of yours." Daemon said, and Ser Harwin nodded.
"You have such pretty lips. I imagine they would look even better stretched around my cock." Harwin agreed, and his hand was instantly between his legs, rubbing his length over his trousers.
You smiled and moved off the bed, grabbing a pillow and tossing it on the ground before you, then you gracefully knelt on it. Daemon's hand was in your hair, tilting your head up, his thumb running along your bottom lip.
"Look at that, ready to be used." Daemon hummed, his own trousers growing tight at the sight. "This is why you are my favorite,"
"Flattery won't get you a discount," You teased, tugging on the laces of his trousers and freeing his hard cock.
Daemon chuckled, he enjoyed that you were never afraid to speak your mind. "I wouldn't dare insult you with an offer of a lower price. I know what you are worth."
"Mmm, do you now?" You said softly, kissing along the side of his shaft, before licking a stripe up to the tip. "Tell me, my prince, what am I worth?"
Daemon hissed through his teeth, the warmth of your mouth around him felt divine. His fingers tangled in your hair, the way you looked up at him with big doe eyes, while your tongue ran along the underside of his cock, would be seared in his memory
"You are worth an entire chest... No.. vault of gold," Daemon panted, his fingers flexing against the back of your head, holding you still as he began to shallowly fuck your mouth. "Gods, yes... That's it... Good girl..."
You chuckled at his words, the vibrations making him groan, you pulled away from him, and turned your attention to Ser Harwin.
He stepped closer and you could feel the warmth radiating off him, his cock just inches from your face, his hand gripping the base and smacking his cock against your cheek a few times, chuckling when your eyes flicked up to meet his.
"You like being used, don't you, whore?" Harwin smirked, his voice a low, husky whisper.
"I enjoy the sounds it draws out of a man," You hummed, running your hands up his muscular thighs. "The way they fall apart when I make them feel good."
"Is that so?" Harwin asked, and you nodded, leaning forward to run your tongue along his cock, and his hips bucked slightly. "Well then, by all means, don't let me stop you."
You did as he instructed and opened your mouth, allowing him to slide his thick length past your lips. You could already taste his pre-cum, and his cock felt heavy on your tongue, and he let out a low groan.
It was always an enjoyable experience, having clients that were handsome and paid well. Your favorites were the ones that would allow you to do what you wanted, and you loved pleasing a cock with your mouth. You loved the sounds they would make, the way they would moan, and their fingers would tug at your hair. It made you feel powerful, the way you could make them bend to your will with a flick of your tongue.
"Fuck, you were right Daemon, she has such a pretty mouth." Harwin groaned, his hips beginning to rock slowly. "You love my cock, don't you sweet girl?"
You hummed, flicking your eyes up to meet his again, and he groaned, his eyes locked on yours, watching the way your cheeks hollowed around his cock, and his fingers gripped tighter.
"Gods, I could cum just looking at her like this." Harwin laughed, his hand moving to stroke the top of your head. "Such a good little whore, taking all of my cock. I'm going to cum down your throat and you're going to swallow every last drop, isn't that right, pretty girl?"
You moaned again, nodding slightly and pressing his cock all the way to the back of your throat. Your nose was pressed to the coarse curls at the base of his cock, and his balls against your chin.
Daemon chuckled at your display, your hand coming up to grope his thigh. You didn't want him to feel left out, so you wrapped your hand around his cock, stroking him slowly, and he let out a moan, his eyes closing.
"She's quite skilled, isn't she?" Daemon asked, his head thrown back. "I could watch her do this all night."
"So could I," Harwin laughed, his hips stuttering. "Oh fuck, just like that... Good girl..."
You loved to hear them talk, the way their voices would go deeper and lower, and their words would become breathy, and the praises would start falling from their lips. For you, it was almost better than the coin you got paid for doing this. Almost.
You could sense Harwin was close, his hand tangled in your hair, holding you in place, and the other hand resting on your jaw, his thumb pressing lightly against your throat. You could feel his cock throbbing in your mouth, and you could taste the saltiness of his pre-cum as his thrusts became quicker. You let him use you, moaning as he chased his bliss, and after a few more thrusts, his hips stilled, and he spilled himself down your throat.
You hummed, swallowing him down dutifully, and when he finally finished, he pulled his softening cock out, a strand of spit and cum connecting the tip to your lips. You cleaned him off, licking his length, your eyes locked on his, and you smiled when he groaned again.
"I see why she's your favorite. She's mine now, too." Harwin chuckled, moving back to sit on the bed, watching you move onto Daemon.
You knew exactly what the prince enjoyed, so you didn't hesitate to lick a stripe along his shaft, before taking him all the way to the back of your throat. You could feel his hands tangling in your hair, tugging harshly, and you moaned around his cock, earning a similar moan in return from him.
He liked when you moaned around his cock, loved the way it felt, and the sound always sent a jolt of pleasure through him. It wasn't long until he was fucking your face, holding you still as his hips thrust his cock into your mouth, and the sloppy sounds filled the room, mixing with the soft music coming from downstairs.
"Fuck, such a good girl, taking all of my cock. Do you like choking on it? Huh? Such a perfect little whore." Daemon moaned, and the dirty talk had you soaked, the slick from your pussy dripping down your thighs. You hoped at least one of them would fuck you tonight, and the thought only served to arouse you further.
You reached between your legs, running your fingers over your clit, the moan escaping your throat was muffled, and the vibrations sent Daemon over the edge, his grip tightening as he spilled down your throat.
"Swallow it all, don't waste a single drop." He hissed, and you did as you were told, swallowing every last drop, pulling all the way back to clean the tip, flicking your tongue along his slit.
You smiled up at him, licking your lips, and he chuckled, running his thumb along your plump bottom lip.
"Always a pleasure, my prince." You smiled, and Daemon pulled his trousers up, tucking his soft cock away.
"You've definitely earned your coin, my little whore." Daemon smiled, his hand coming down and caressing your cheek.
Harwin came up behind you and helped you to your feet, his hands wrapping around your waist, and his lips on your neck, sucking a bruise on the exposed skin.
"I'm afraid I'm feeling a bit greedy," Harwin hummed against your ear. "How much to have a turn at that pretty little cunt of yours?"
You turned in his arms, wrapping your arms around his neck and leaning into him, your lips hovering just above his, and he moved forward, trying to kiss you, but you moved back, smirking.
"Depends, how much are you willing to pay?" You asked, looking between the two men.
Daemon laughed, and he took his coin purse and tossed it to Harwin, who caught it easily. "Take all of it."
Harwin untied the pouch and poured the coins into his hand, and your eyes widened. You had never been paid so much in your life.
"That should be enough," you hummed, leaning into him, and finally kissing him.
"Happy name day, Ser Harwin," Daemon said, clapping his friend on the shoulder, before putting his cloak back on, and then walked out the door, closing it behind him.
"A wonderful name day indeed," Harwin smirked, you giggled as he picked you up, carrying you towards the bed. "And it's about to get even better…"

Bitter Allies • Part 1
"Bravo 7-1, this is Bravo 0-7, give me a sit rep on your position, over."
Soap is currently kneeling in some brush, staring at the small military camp in front of him when the radio call comes through. Despite the fact that he'd most likely need to be adjusting the volume up soon on his ear piece, he still turns it down a little for now.
"This is Bravo 7-1, I've been in position. Waiting on 7-4 to move her ass." He all but growls back to Ghost. His hand tenses on his rifle at even saying those numbers. Bravo 7-4.
You were Bravo 7-4. Also known as (y/n) "States" (l/n). The all too grumpy Sergeant by the callsign Bravo 7-1 was John "Soap" MacTavish. Also known as the biggest pain in your ass since you joined up with Captain Price's Task Force about six months ago.
Now anyone who knew Soap would be shocked to hear you say that you thought he was literally the worst and most insufferable human being to ever stain the Earth. To everyone else, Soap was a funny, charismatic, rather easy-going, and quite friendly guy. Everyone loved Soap. He was the golden boy of the Task Force, of the entire base. People were just naturally drawn to him, and his warm personality.
You can't say you blame people for being shocked when they learn just how much you can't stand him. Cause all those things about Soap were true. He was funny, and friendly, and relaxed, and just a great guy to be around. He was all those things when he wasn't around you. The second you stepped into the picture, his amused grin turned into a stiff scowl. His sparkling eyes turned hard. His relaxed posture turned rigid.
Yeah, John "Soap" MacTavish hated you. And you hated him.
Why did he hate you? You weren't entirely sure. It just seemed like it has always been that way since day one.
You transferred into the Task Force at the request of Captain Price himself. Originally, you had been stationed at a military base in the United States, where you were from. Then one day your commanding officer called you into his office and told you that you'd been given a new assignment. You would be working with a British Task Force across the pond for the next year. A group of four SAS men. If things worked out, then you'd be staying there indefinitely.
You'd been thrilled at the news. You didn't join the military only for the benefits and the opportunity to serve, but for the opportunity to travel and to potentially live somewhere else in the world. Getting to be that while also being SAS was the dream. You worked so hard to get to where you were today. Sleepless nights of studying, hard days of working out and trying to improve and hone your skills, and now it was finally happening. You were being sent off to a new base and a new team. And not just any team, an elite task force. You'd finally been selected.
You met the whole team day one of your arrival. The first person you met was Captain John Price. He was a friendly but very stern man. The no nonsense type of guy. He gave you a tour of the base, and showed you to the female barracks. Once you were semi-settled in (all your belongings piled into your room) you went to meet the other members of your new Task Force.
Price introduced you to each teammate. They'd all been in his office by the time you and Price showed up. Two had been seated, and one was standing despite there being enough chairs. That had been Soap.
"Alright you lot, here she is. This is (y/n) (l/n). Straight from across the pond." Price introduced you. "(Y/n), these are boys of the 141. This is Sergeant Kyle Garrick."
"You can also call me Gaz." Kyle fills in, giving you a nod and a handshake. "It's nice to have someone from the States joining us." He was the one responsible for your callsign being States.
"This is your Lieutenant. Simon Riley. He goes strictly by Ghost." Price continues. Ghost doesn't make a move to shake your hand. He just stayed quiet. Didn't even give you a nod of any kind. Quite intimidating coming from a guy wearing a skull over his face. "And lastly, this is-"
"Soap." The man barks out before Price can say anything. You remember hearing Price sigh before finishing his sentence. "Sergeant John MacTavish."
"You can call me Soap though. Nothing else." His voice was harsh, and carried a tone of warning. If you to call him by anything else other than his callsign, there were going to be harsh consequences.
His arms were folded across his chest, and he'd glared at you during the whole introduction. It made you so nervous, the reactions you got from both Soap and Ghost. Price assured you later though that they would come around. They just needed to warm up to you. He'd been 50% correct.
At the time, Ghost had been the most terrifying of three, and the one you worried you wouldn't be able to connect with (boy had you been foolish). At the time though, Soap had at least said something to you. Ghost never said a word or even acknowledged you. And when Ghost did talk to you, it was always in a gruff voice like you were annoying him. But over time, you came to realize that was just who Ghost was. It wasn't anything personal. He was like that with literally everyone. It was rare to catch him laughing or to hear his gruff voice become lighter.
Soap, on the other hand, also spoke to you the way Ghost did, but he only used that tone with you. He was so cheery and light when speaking with the guys. Even with strangers, his voice may have been slightly more gruff, but never as harsh as when he spoke to you.
His personality was vastly different around the others as well. Whereas he could joke, laugh, and relax around them, he was the opposite around you. You thought for a moment that maybe he was sexiest and just didn't like women, though every woman he spoke to around base, he was the kindest and most respectful guy.
Now six months later, not much had changed. Soap still spoke to you in a gruff voice. He still scowled when you entered a room. He still glared at you any time he needed to look at you. He had gotten more "comfortable" around you. But really that just meat he was far more comfortable with insulting you directly. From the way you shoot to the way you eat, he could find anything to gripe about. And eventually, you decided that if he was going to be difficult, then you'd return the favor.
The first time you insulted him back, he looked shocked, then just flat out angry. Your encounters went from quiet insults being thrown back and forth and dirty looks to all out yelling at each other. Never physical fights, but Soap had punched a hole in the wall during one particularly bad argument.
The others couldn't stand you fighting. Gaz would do everything in his power to keep you separated and distracted from each other so you wouldn't start. Ghost tried to never be involved, but he would sometimes break up the fights by using his scary lieutenant voice and sending you both to different parts of the base to cool off. Price... he got the most upset. He was normally so calm under pressure but hearing you and Soap bicker pushed him to the limit. He'd yell at you both until he turned red and then normally punish you by making you do extra cleaning, harder workouts, or something else just as labor intensive.
You lost count of how many times you'd been in his office with Soap, getting reprimanded on your behavior. One of the worst had been when Soap actively tried to get you kicked off the team while you were sitting right there.
"She is a right pain in the arse, Price! I didn't even start it this time!" He claims, doing everything he could not to look at you.
"Oh blow it out your ass, Soap. You were giving me a look."
"Then don't fucking look at me." Soap growls through his teeth.
Price slams his fist onto the table, making you both jump a little and halt your bickering for a moment. "Can you two shut the hell up? It's just constant with you. I have had a headache for five fucking days cause of you idiots. What is it going to take for you two to get along?"
Soap is quick with his answer. "All this could be solved if you just deported her little ass back to the US. Seriously Price, she's caused nothing but trouble since she got here."
"I am right here, Soap." You huff out a laugh, not too shocked he'd say something like that though.
"I wish you weren't." He throws back, making Price intervene again.
"Enough! She's not going anywhere, Soap. Whether you like it or not, she brings in a skill set we are missing in this team."
"Like hell she doesn't! We can find someone else." He argues, earning a glare from Price.
"She is staying. I signed a contract that she stays for a year. If we break that, we lose our funding, our reputation, and a whole lot more." Price says, making Soap cross his arms and sit back in his chair.
"So after however many months she has left, we can get rid of her?"
"You'll be lucky if I keep you once your contract expires!" He shouts at Soap, which shuts the Scot up. Sighing, Price continues. "I will reassess at the end of year once States' contract has expired." He says more calmly, which makes your heart sink and Soap smirk.
You were dismissed then, but Price had you stay back. Probably to keep you and Soap from walking with each other, but he also has a few words for you. He reassured you that you were doing great. That you truly did bring a lot to their team and that he was happy to have you there.
"Are you going to send me back at the end of the year?" You'd asked him before you left, looking over your shoulder by the door while he stayed seated at his desk.
"Don't worry about that now, States. But know, I like having you here, and remember, it takes both of to sign the renewal contract."
That gave you hope. Price most likely would want to keep you, but he was also going to leave it up to you to decide whether or not you wanted to stay. At the same time, if things continued the way they were, it wasn't going to be good for team morale. If Price had to pick between you and Soap, you were sure he'd pick Soap. He'd been with the team longer and knew them far better than you did. This was your dream though. Being SAS. It could take years before you got another team. You liked Price, Ghost and Gaz. Could you live with Soap?
That meeting was only three weeks ago. You'd been with the Task Force for almost six months. Halfway through.
Your current mission landed you in Naryn, Kyrgyzsta. You were hunting down a military leader, General Azamat, who was accused of doing an illegal arms deal with Russia. Photos and weeks of gathering intel suggested he was guilty and currently at this military base in Naryn.
This was purely a stealth mission first. You and Soap were tasked with infiltrating the small military base while Ghost provided overwatch. There were three security stations. One on the East, what Soap was in position for, the South, the one you were headed towards now, and the West, where you and Soap would meet to take out the last one.
The East and South stations were backup generators and needed to be taken out first before the main one to the South was. That way you kept the element of surprise and didn't need to worry about the backups going online. After that, your troops would push in and secure the base, capture the military leader, and you could all go home.
Soap had given the update on his position, saying he was where he needed to be, about two minutes ago. Two fucking minutes ago. And he was already griping that you weren't to your position yet. His words rang in your ear through your comm earpiece.
"This is Bravo 7-1, I've been in position. Waiting on 7-4 to move her ass."
"Calm down, I'm almost fucking there. Don't be so impatient." You growl back. "Seriously Ghost, how do you even deal with him?"
"Haad yer wheesht." Soap growls at you, some Scottish slang you don't understand. No doubt he was telling you to shut the fuck up or something along those lines.
"Either speaking fucking English or don't speak, MacTavish." You bark, voice getting a little too loud for a stealth mission. Even if you weren't too close to the camp yet, there could be patrols you needed to be mindful of.
"How about you fucking learn about other's cultures and then we wouldn't have this problem. And don't call me MacTavish."
"I do know about other's cultures! I just don't care to know about the one that you came from." You throw back before Ghost gets involved.
"Shut it. Now. Not another word. Fuck's sake." You could practically see Ghost shaking his head. "States, how long till you're in position?" Ghost asks, directing attention back to the mission.
"Give me two minutes."
"Bloody fucking Jesus." You hear Soap mummer through the comms.
You take a deep breath to try and focus your energy back on your current tasks. Soap was not going to get in your head and mess this up for you. For anyone else, he would have stayed quiet. In fact, it probably wouldn't have even bothered him.
"Hold up, 7-4." You hear Ghost say to you after about 30 seconds of creeping your way to your position. "You've got a small patrol further up from your position. Just over the hill. Two men, I don't see anyone else. When you're in range, get a good shot of one, and I'll dump the other for you."
"On it. Thanks Ghost." You whisper back, readying your rifle and trying to be as silent as you can while you approach the men.
"You telling me it's gonna be even longer now." Soap complains, making you roll your eyes.
"I'm sorry your side didn't have rough terrain or anyone to fight off, Soap." You tell him sarcastically. "Some of us didn't get the easy baby route to take."
"I'll have you know I took down two fucking patrols all by myself while I made my way over here. And I didn't have Ghost's help to do it either."
"Fuck you." You growl at him.
"What did I bloody fucking say?" Ghost growls, his lieutenant voice coming out. You curse yourself as you let it happen again. Just ignore the Scot and focus on what's ahead.
"In position, Ghost. I see them. Clear sight on both, your call."
Ghost does the quick calculations in his head as he prepares his shot, trying to determine which of the two men he had a better chance of taking out. "The one with the flashlight is mine. Dump is mate. In three, two..."
You both took the shot, Ghost pulling his trigger just a millisecond before you to account for the distance. He landed a clean headshot while your first bullet landed more in the shoulder of your guy. You took a quick second shot, which finished the job with another headshot.
"He's down. Clean shots. Though try for the head first next time." Ghost quips. There was no malice in his words. Just Ghost joking around to ease tension. Soap clearly needed to take lessons from Ghost on how to tell a joke without being a total ass about it.
"Noted. Thanks for the advice, 0-7." You banter back, earning a scowl and an eye roll from Soap.
"Less talking, more getting to where you're supposed to be." Soap cuts in, ending the fun you'd been having with Ghost.
"Don't get your skirt in a knot. I'm in position." You huff, pulling out your binoculars and scouting the area. Despite this base housing a military leader, and having two back up generators, they really didn't have much security. No walls, no floodlights. Just a few patrols outside. They weren't expecting trouble.
"It's a bloody kilt. Not a skirt." Soap seethes, his jaw clenched. At this rate, he wasn't going to be able to finish this mission. Everything about you was just pure annoyance to him.
"Yeah whatever you want to tell yourse-"
"Are you two going to be able to finish this mission or am I going to have to pull you both from it?" Ghost barks over the comms, clearly fed up now.
You feel your face flush hot in embarrassment. Ghost has never threatened to remove you from a mission before. You've always been good and reliable. You can't fail and have it on your record that you were pulled from a mission due to not being able to get along with others. That was a death sentence for your career with the SAS.
"No, sir. Sorry, 0-7." You apologize, not hearing anything from Soap's end. He was probably pouting and internally cursing you for getting him in trouble, even though this was all his fault. "Going to head out for the South station. Bravo 7-4 going dark." You turn your radio from the public channel between you three to a private one used only for emergencies. At least now you wouldn't be able to hear Soap for a little bit.
Soap hears your radio beep once, signaling to him you'd disconnected for a moment while you advance towards your target goal. Once you had, he huffs and takes a moment to squeeze his eyes shut and collect himself.
"I can't fucking stand her, Ghost." He complains to his friend. "Why the hell did Price ever think it was a good idea to put us together on a mission?" He looked out into the field, making out the little shadow of you making your way slowly to the base.
"She's part of the team, Soap. Price has his reasons. Just focus on the mission and make it work." Ghost replies, not offering too much help aside from stating the obvious and putting Soap's mind back in the field. "Better get going. Your path is clear right now."
Soap sighs heavily and stretches out his neck a bit by tilting his ears toward each shoulder. One side pops a little, only relieving a little tension. "Alright. Bravo 7-1 going dark." He clicks his radio to the private channel and begins to make his way to the East backup generator's building.
By the time Soap reaches his building, you are already working your way inside the South building thanks to the small head start you got. You stick to the shadows as much as you can, thoughts wandering to Soap from time to time. Wondering if he's cleared his building already or if he ran into trouble. Then again, if it was really bad, he could have contacted you or Ghost and there would have been alarms going off. And as much as you hated him, you had to admit he was really good at this kind of stuff. Sweeping through a place and clearing it out. Quick and clean. Of course he'd never ever hear you utter any praises directed at him.
Your building wasn't too heavily guarded. You assumed most of their men were either asleep in the barracks, standing guard of where the military leader was staying, or off patrolling areas they deemed more important than the backup generators. The main building to the West would have most of their patrols since it was the more important building. That was the reason you and Soap needed to work on clearing it together.
You managed to clear your building fairly quickly with only one close call. One guard had seen you shoot someone else, but you managed to take them out before they could radio for backup, and no one seemed to have heard him yell. Once cleared, you plugged in the flash drive and uploaded the virus it contained to make the generator go offline.
You bring a hand to your radio and speak into it. "This is Bravo 7-4, generator down, South building secure. I repeat, generator down. Heading to the West building to the rendezvous now." You begin to head out the way you came in as Ghost speaks to you over the comms.
"This is Bravo 0-7. Confirm. You're all clear." Ghost responds.
"You got a sit rep on our precious Bravo 7-1?" You ask, forgetting to switch over from the private channel. You duck behind some ammo boxes and sneak along them, not expecting to get an answer from Soap. You expected him to be busy still and not on the public channel that you thought you were on. Before Ghost can answer, 7-1 graces you with a response.
"States, shut your fucking mouth and switch your radio over to public. How the hell did you get selected when you can't even use a damn radio." He snarls, making you pause. Soap's words always kinda stung a bit, but some more than others.
"Oh, I'm sorry. Am I not allowed to have a sit rep on you?" You ask, ignoring your slip up of being in the wrong channel.
"No." He answers flatly, making you sigh and roll your eyes. So much for working as a team. "And switch-"
You switched over while he was mid sentence, not wanting to hear his grating voice anymore. You were getting a little worn down at this point. It wasn't like you enjoyed arguing with Soap as much as you did. It was exhausting. Being out in the field where you were already stressed was making it a lot worse.
"He's almost done." Ghost answers you, keeping you updated since Soap clearly wasn't going to. "Just head to the rendezvous, States."
You grumble softly but do as you are told. You mutter a "copy" into your radio before slowly and carefully making your way to the rendezvous. You hear a soft beep shortly after, signaling Soap had reconnected to the public channel. You try to avoid using your radio after that, even skipping check-ins since it seemed that Soap was going to make any use of your radio an unpleasant experience. Though eventually you do need to give an update that you were at the rendezvous, that way Soap wouldn't shoot you.
You move to the side of a building and crouch down. "Bravo 7-4 approaching rendezvous." You sigh to yourself before adding, "Bravo 7-1, please let me know when you are on your way."
"I'm already here. Look to your bloody right 7-4." You look almost directly to your right, which is met with an annoyed sigh. "Not that far. Back to your.. straight.. just- Fucks sake, by the crates!"
"You're not giving me good directions!" You silently yell back, still looking for him.
"By the crates! The only crates in the area! I'm practically in the open."
You see him then. His stupidly handsome face turned into a scowl and his piercing blue eyes glaring at you. He was not in the open, only his head poking up from the crates. You sent the same look right back to him and make your way over, looking around and making sure the way was clear so you wouldn't compromise your position. He was kind enough to at least raise his gun and cover you as you made your way over. Once behind the crates, back pressed to them, he relaxes his position and ducks behind them with you.
"States, look at me," Soap says, his voice deep and gravely. The only tone he ever seemed to use with you. "I want this done clean and easy. No fuck ups. You're going to follow my lead and stay out of my way. And I don't want to hear a single word from you unless it's mission related. You got that?" He lectures you.
You are so, so tempted to roll your eyes at him. He was talking to you like you were a marine fresh off selection. Not a five year veteran who was selected for an elite special forces team. He didn't even outrank you by that much. Not enough to make a real difference. The only thing he had up on you was experience and maybe two years in age.
You're silent for a long moment, glaring at him until he repeats himself a little.
"Do you understand?" He annunciates each word, and you swallow down the choice of words you had for him. This wasn't the time or place for that. You were in the middle of a mission that could go belly up and turn dangerous. You didn't need to be fighting the sergeant on this.
"You got it." You say tightly, mustering up all the strength you possessed not to say more than that to him.
Soap seemed surprised you agreed so easily, but he eyes you suspiciously for a moment before nodding. "Good." He nods before reaching for his radio. "Bravo 0-7, this is 7-1. Going in. Rest of the troops be ready in five minutes and wait for the signal."
"Copy, 7-1." Ghost confirms. "Be warned, I see multiple troops in the vicinity of the West security building. Some men have different uniforms. They look to be General Azamat's men. He could be in there."
You furrow your brows at that. You were expecting a lot of troops in that area, but the military leader you were after wasn't supposed to be in there. There was a bunker in the middle of the camp that he was supposed to be in. It wasn't going to be a significant change the mission though. It just meant your job had become a lot harder. More men to clear out without raising alarm.
"This is Bravo 7-4, 0-7 what's the best way in?" You ask, refusing to look at Soap. You saw his head turn to look at you from the corner of your eye.
"If you wanna come home looking like Swiss cheese I'd go with the front door. Around the back might be your best shot, but I can't get a clear view from my area." Ghost informs you.
"Can you reposition and-"
"No." Soap immediately cuts you off, making you glance to him. "We don't have time for a reposition. We need to move before they realize their backup generators have been breached."
"You just don't like it cause it was my idea." You accuse, watching as Soap visibly becomes agitated.
"I don't like it cause it's a bloody stupid idea!" Soap says through clenched teeth. He was getting right in your face. You were about to tell him off until Ghost's voice filled your left ear.
"Soap's right. There's no time. Head to the back and make due with that entry point. We'll go loud if we need to."
Soap wore a smug look as Ghost sided with him. You despised it. "See? Told you it was a stupid idea." He reiterates, still way too close for comfort.
Your anger flared, and you shoved him back with a forearm to his chest. He reacted instantly, grabbing your arm and flinging it away as if it had burned him. The movement was so quick, it surprised you a bit, and all you can do is stare at him with wide eyes.
"Touch me again, and you're going to regret ever signing up for the military," he growled, his finger jabbing the air between you before standing up and storming off without attracting too much attention.
You're left stunned for a moment, though you're not sure how you thought he was going to react to you pushing him. Within a matter of seconds, you gather yourself, reminding yourself that you were still in enemy territory and needed to focus. With a reluctant sigh, you followed after him.
You managed to make your way to the back of the West Building with Soap without too many complications. The most you needed to really do was duck behind some parked trucks as a military jeep rolled by. It exited the compound, likely heading out to meet a patrol for a shift change.
You and Soap didn't say a single word to each other the whole way. For a stealth mission, that was preferable. However, you could feel the tension between you and Soap. Disdain was radiating off him, and you didn't want to get too close to him in fear he was going to blow up at any second.
There's a line up of vehicles that serve as your cover for the time being as you sneak along one side of them. Suddenly, you nearly collide with Soap when he abruptly raises his hand, signaling you to stop. There's a group of four men all standing in a small circle, talking and smoking together. They're isolated from other groups but taking out a group of four could be very difficult to do.
Soap takes a few steps back, waving for you to back up as well. "We can't take that group out by ourselves, we're going to have to go around." He tells you in a hushed voice as you attempt to peak around him to get a good view of the targets blocking your path.
"It's only four. We can both take out two." You suggest, but, just like all your other ideas, Soap is fast to shut that one down too.
"Not a chance. You suck at hitting multiple headshots." He accuses.
That makes your blood begin to boil. You were not the God awful shot he made you out to be. In fact, back on your base in the US, you were considered to be one of the better shooters.
"I don't suck at making headshots." You glare, making him huff at you.
"Oh really? You missed the one earlier. Ghost managed to hit it from hundreds of meters away, and you bloody miss from a few feet. Your aim is absolute dog shite, States. I'm not going to have you mess up this entire mission cause you think you're better than you are."
His voice was harsh, as always, and his glare was biting. You felt your eyes burn as tears formed, but you refused to let Soap see you cry. He'd only roll his eyes and call you a baby. Crying would only give him more reasons to think you didn't belong here, that you weren't as good as the rest of them.
There were so many things you wanted to say to him in that moment, but you couldn't. The words got caught in your throat, and you feared that if you opened your mouth, a sob would escape. All you could do was look away and clench your jaw, masking your hurt feelings as anger instead.
Soap seems to take your silence as you submitting. "Come on. We'll go around that way."
He was motioning to a camp-like area that seemed mostly deserted, though there were probably men sleeping in the multiple tents that were set up. Along with the tents, there was some campfires and some small boxes of what looked to be filled with MREs.
As Soap quickly moved to the new area to bypass the group of men, you glanced back at them. You knew you could land those headshots. If Ghost had been with you, you would have taken them down already. You were tired of Soap thinking you were inferior and wanted to prove him wrong so badly. You knew you could land those headshots...
Raising your rifle slowly, you lined up the shot for the first target and mentally mapped out the sequence. One on the right, then left, then back right, and then back left. A simple zig-zag pattern. Easy enough.
Right as you're about to pull the trigger, you hear Soap's voice crackle through the comms. His voice was deep and full of warning and venom.
"Don't you fucking dare, States."
But you dared. You wanted more than anything to prove him wrong. You slowly exhaled and pulled the trigger.

“We got a suite available, Amalia?” The man, the owner of this casino, Bucky, asks as he approaches the glass counter of the hotel lobby. You barely keep up as your surroundings smear and your head spins. Everything’s happening so fast.
“Mr. Barnes,” the woman on the other side greets as she nears the slim monitor, “I think we should.” She glances at him, then your sister as she blathers drunkenly in his arms, “having a good night?”
“Oh, just some friends in the city for a night,” he lies easily, “she got a bit carried away so we’ll let her sleep it off.”
You chew your lip as you stand just behind him. Your stomach lurches as your eyes wander around the fine decor. It’s all out of your price range. Again, your brain is a beat behind.
“Doll, would you get that?” He asks as the desk agent holds out a small folder.
“Oh, yeah, er,” you rush up to take the room keys, “sorry.”
“No problem, just got my hands full,” he scoffs, “Amalia, have a good night. Hopefully you don’t get anyone too rowdy.”
“Thank you, sir, you too,” she preens after him as he heads off across the lobby.
Once more you’re on his heels as he struts toward the elevators. You catch up to him and force the frog from your throat, “uh, sir, Bucky?” You stammer, “I don’t think... I can afford--”
“Doll, don’t worry about all that. It's on the house,” he stops before the elevator and stares at the golden doors, “I’m not some sort of grifter. I offered, I’m not gonna squeeze ya. What’s the room number?”
“Er, oh,” you open the little folder, “720.”
“Right, hit the button,” he nods before him.
“Sorry,” you cringe again. You’re so behind. It must be so obvious to him how lost you are. Maybe that’s why he noticed you. He feels bad that someone so pathetic could exist.
You press the up button and the doors open. He nods you ahead of him and you step into the box. The walls are transparent and you can see outside along the river. He gets in and comes to stand parallel with you as you avoid looking through the glass.
“Seven,” he says.
You make another mousy noise and tap the button. You recoil, clutching your hands over your chest, and stare at the doors. As the elevator rises, you feel a wave of head rush, and you sway just a little. You gulp and widen your eyes.
“Not a fan of heights?” He asks as the box stops sharply and the doors ding and open.
“Not really,” you mutter.
He waits for you to exit first and you eagerly do. He follows as you look back and forth between the doors, searching out the number to match the folder. 720, right at the end. You fumble and it takes three tries to swipe the card correctly.
Finally, the door opens and you push it inward, holding it as you flatten yourself to the wall to let him through. He enters without hesitation. For a moment, you wonder what it must be like to be so sure and so comfortable in a place like this. To have this be your normal.
You let go of the door and trail him further inside. The room is huge. Not just one room, but two. The front room is closed off by a pair of doors, painted white with fine spirals etched into the wood. You flit ahead of Bucky to slide them open and reveal the bedroom. He takes your sister to the bed and lays her down as she lets out a bubbly belch.
“Sorry,” you apologise on her behalf as you hover in the door.
“She’s her own person,” he stands back, “you need anything, call down to the desk. They’ll be happy to get you whatever. Oh, and, should probably have some water ready for the morning. She’s gonna be feeling this.”
“Right,” you push your lip out then quickly fix your face, “thank you. I...”
“Checkouts at eleven but I’ll tell Amalia to mark you down for a late departure,” he comes towards you slowly.
“Oh, we won’t stay that long,” you assure him and scrape your palms together.
“Ah, you got somewhere to be? Work? Gonna be a long day after tonight.”
“No, I... I don’t...” your eyes drift to the wall. Again, you can’t help but admire the ivory paint and the crystal lamp and tall posts of the bed. “I don’t... have a job.”
“Mm, tough out there,” he says, “just gotta find the right thing, huh?”
You want to fold into nothing. This man, a millionaire at least, who owns this whole place, is telling you you’ll find something one day. Just like your mom does when you melt down over another rejection. Ugh.
“Thanks, yeah,” you take a heavy breath.
“You’re tired,” he surprises you as he caresses your sleeve, “I’m not gonna keep you up. You get some sleep, alright?”
You nod and reach to scratch your neck, shifting away from his reach. He’s so much bigger than you that for a moment your stomach is crawling, as the thought occurs of how much control he really has. Not just because of who he is.
“Good night, doll,” he purrs and brushes by you.
You stay as you are, staring at your sister, muttering to herself. Why does she have to do this? You could be sleeping in your own bed but instead you’re here, burning in shame and pity. You turn as you hear him near the door.
“Night,” you offer up.
He stops and turns back, sending you a wink, “there’s a hot tub in here so... might enjoy the room at least.”
You force a smile though your stress likely makes it more a grimace. He spins and leaves you, the door shutting with a click and releasing you to your self-reproach. You drop your head in your hands and huff. You are leaving the minute your sister wakes up. You never want to see that man again. You just pray he forgets you just as quickly as you want to forget this whole night.
🃏
You hardly sleep. Your sister’s drunken snoring keeps you from relaxing for more than twenty minutes at a time, not to mention how unsettled you are. You hate sleeping in new places but moreso you hate that even on a night out, after all the assurance that you could just enjoy yourself, that you are once more a burden for someone else.
You get up just after six. You rub your forehead as you go out into the front room and look over the amenities. There’s a fancy coffee maker with pods and a mini fridge with a glass door. You take out a bottle of water to leave by the bed for Roxie then return to figure out the coffee. You don’t often have any but your head is pounding.
You sit down and sneer at the bitterness. Did you make it right? You never liked the taste so you can’t tell. You finish the cup if only for the soothing warmth.
At seven, you get up to check on Roxie again. She’s still out like a light. Come on! You want to go.
You rinse the mug in the sink as best you can and return it to the shelf. There’s a knock on the door. You flinch and reluctantly tread down to the hall. You peep through the hole as you fix your clothing. You push down the handle slowly to greet the woman with the cart.
The golden embroidery on her white blouse marks her as an employee and she beams a smile in your direction. It’s too early for that amount of cheer. She has her hands on the cart, angling it towards the door.
“Morning, miss, breakfast, complements of Mr. Barnes,” she declares, “where can I put it?”
“Um,” you back up slowly, “inside... uh, by the table, I guess.”
She rolls the cart in and asks if you need anything else before she leaves. You shake your head. There’s more than enough there for you and Roxie. If she can even stomach any of it. You’ve seen the way she is after her nights out.
You sit and stare at the buffet of food before you. Fresh fruit, waffles, pancakes, french toast, bacon, eggs... everything and more. Just another favour to feel bad for.
As you look over it all, you notice a note, nestled between the glasses beside the pitcher of orange juice. You take it. That must be the bill. You unfold it and read the slanted capitals hand-written across the casino-branded page.
‘Good Morning, Doll,
Enjoy breakfast on me.
B. Barnes’
Under his name, is a sharp zigzag of the same black ink, a post script below.
‘PS. If you’re still looking for a job, call me.’
You nearly drop the paper. What? You stare at the digits of his phone number and slowly lower your hand to your lap. This can’t be real. Could you really work at a casino? Would you be a dealer? Or maybe you’d be more suited to a cleaner, somewhere you can be out of the way.
A long groan interrupts your inner turmoil. You fold the paper and tuck it away. It’s something. You’ll have to just figure out later what.
“Coffee,” Roxie grumbles as she appears in the doorframe, gripping her skull.
“Oh, uh, sure,” you get up and go to the machine. You grab a random pod and shove it into the top.
“Where... how’d we get here?” She sits heavily and reaches for a piece of bacon.
“Um, you... you were really drunk so...”
“How the hell did you get us a room? Wait. Did we win? Blackjack?” She bites into the greasy strip and moans. “Or... I didn’t sleep with that guy, did I?”
“Erm,” you frown, thinking for a moment before you realise she must mean that Sam guy. “No...”
You don’t explain. You don’t know how. Oh yeah, you were such a disaster that the owner noticed and didn’t kick us out. Actually, he let us stay in an overpriced suite because... you don’t know.
“He must be loaded if he’s handing out hotel rooms,” she scoffs as she continues on in her assumption. You don’t correct her. It doesn’t matter. “Coffee,” she snaps her fingers as the grind quiets.
You bring her the mug and she adds too many packets of sugar before she tastes it. You hide the paper in your cardigan pocket and search for your purse. You fish your watch out of it and put it around your wrist checking the time.
“We should head out before nine,” you say.
“Why?” She scoffs. “Ugh, what’s the bath like in this place? I could use a soak.”
“Mom’s going to be worried.”
“Nah, she knows I’ll get you back,” she waves you off and stands.
She walks slowly, rubbing her temples as she sips from the cup, and examines the hotel room. She dips into the bathroom and the light flicks on. You hear her turning the faucet and shifting things around.
You play with the zipper of your purse. You reach inside and pull out your phone. You get up to grab the key folder and enter the wifi code into your outdated model. It takes far too long to connect. You type into the search of your browser, ‘Bucky Barnes’.
Almost at once, an image of the very man who carried Roxie into this room appears. It’s familiar. You tap it and it opens up a local news story. That makes sense. He’s younger, his hair is shorter. You remember when the casino changed hands and was renovated all those years ago. It was big news.
Hm. Not just rich, famous, at least to a degree. It means he has a lot more going on than two disorderly girls at his casino. He’ll forget. You just hope you can too.
Roxie comes back in a robe and put her mug on the table, “make me another. I’m gonna try those jets.”
She spins away and you stare at her empty cup. How can she not care about anything? Does she not realise that she ruined the night? That she made a fool of both of you? No, she just sees shiny things and forgets all about her own behaviour.
Well, you’re not like her. You don’t like being a burden or asking for things or living on someone else’s affection. You look down and feel along your pocket, the slip of paper firm through the fabric. You could clean a few hotel toilets for a buck. It’s not like you have much else going on.
