Yuo: Who broke the coffee machine? I’m not mad. I just wanna know.
Yuran: I did. I broke it.
Yuo: No. No, you didn’t. Yujin?
Yujin: Don’t look at me. Look at Yuro!
Yuro: What?! I didn’t break it.
Yujin: Huh. That’s weird. How'd you even know it was broken?
Yuro: Because it’s sitting right in front of us and it’s broken!
Yujin: Suspicious.
Yuro: No, it’s not!
Yuga: If it matters, probably not…Yuka was the last one to use it.
Yuka: Liar! I don’t even drink that crap!
Yuga: Oh really? Then what were you doing by the coffee cart earlier?
Yuka: I use the wooden stirrers to push back my cuticles! Everyone knows that!
Yuran: All right, let’s not fight. I broke it, let me handle it, Yuo.
Yuo: No. Who broke it?
Yuro: Mrs. Drone's been awfully quiet…
Mrs. Drone: Really?!
Yuro: Yeah, really!
-
Yuo: I broke it. It burned my hand so I punched it. I predict ten minutes from now, they’ll be at each other’s throats with warpaint on their faces and a pig head on a stick.
Yuo: Good. It was getting a little chummy around here.

On the day that you turn 11, your soulmate's name is supposed to appear on your left wrist, in your soulmate's handwriting.
It wasn't a foolproof system. Not everyone had a name appear on their wrist. Did that mean they weren't destined for romance? Or was love possible, and they just didn't have a definite soulmate? It was even possible these people did have soulmates, and there was a glitch in the system for them. Yuga Ohdo hadn't learned enough about the soulmate system to know for sure. He'd largely been unconcerned with it all before now. Yet, the day that birthday came for him, he found himself checking his wrist first thing after he woke up.
When Yuga checked his wrist that day, one thing was for sure: something had gone horribly wrong in this system for him.
The name that stared back at him was his own. In his own handwriting, no less, like he wrote it there himself.
If the font didn't matter and it was only a name that appeared, Yuga could cut the system some slack. His name was far from common, but he could accept his soulmate had the same name as him. The same handwriting as well, though, that was highly unlikely.
After that day, Yuga regarded the world around him suspiciously. As far as he could tell, anyone could be his soulmate, and he would be none the wiser.
At the same time, however, Yuga wasn't largely concerned with romance before the name appeared on his wrist. Why should one little name change that much, especially when it was his own? There was no reason to stop everything else in pursuit of one person whose identity he didn't even know. Why should love have to prevent him from living?
Yuga continued with his life, suspicious, but letting nothing truly block his road.
He invented Rush Duels.
He saved Rush Duels, time and time again, from those who would see its demise.
In time, Yuga even began to forget his suspicions. The name on his wrist fell to the background. Once he had a job, well, that was far more important than some silly name.
Until Luke asked Yuga if he was the sixth Goha sibling, the missing president. Until Luke showed him the ID belonging to someone named Yuga Goha. And the note on the ID, denoting the person it belonged to…was written in his handwriting.
Yuga could feel his blood turn to ice. Was it truly possible? Was his soulmate, another person with the name Yuga with handwriting identical to his own, real?
After Yuga Goha revealed himself, Yuga Ohdo had to challenge him to a duel. Of course, because Yuga Goha was hurting other people by erasing their memories of Rush Duels. But Yuga Ohdo couldn't deny that he also wanted to be sure. He had to know if this was his soulmate.
Yuga Ohdo drew Yuga Goha to the roof of Goha's headquarters, where they could be alone. They drew their starting hands and locked eyes.
That's when Yuga Ohdo knew for sure.
This was his soulmate.
But if his soulmate, Yuga Goha, could be such a cruel person… What did that say about Yuga Goha's soulmate, Yuga Ohdo?
Was he capable of such cruelty as well?
