Hi Bunnies!!
I hit a milestone today. Normal BMI and 20# lost in 2024. I’m only 6# from my summer goal weight and summer isn’t even here yet! #killinit
I am having some IT band tightness so my running has slowed.
Hot girl summer, anyone?? 🩷
I guess I need to join Flex Friday! 🏋️‍♂️
💋

Just. The book has so much more detail but the film also captures these most important steps of attraction - getting to know each other - falling for each other - caring for each other - really knowing and supporting each other. I love them so much.

[reading game] 1, 2, 6, 12, 15?
hi ty for the ask! :)
What are 2-5 already published fiction books you think you want to read in 2023?
i'm trying to read more contemporary fiction and also get through the books on my tbr! some that i'm particularly looking forward to:
septology by jon fosse
piranesi by susanna clarke
petals of blood by ngũgĩ wa thing'o (ngũgĩ Nobel win will happen one day if i pray enough <3)
edinburgh by alexander chee
nervous conditions by tsitsi dangarembga
2. What are 2-5 already published nonfiction books you think you want to read in 2023?
the cambridge companion to the postcolonial novel edited by ato quayson (i have a physical copy on my bedside tabel just waiting to be read!)
they can't kill us until they kill us by hanif abdurraqib
wayward lives, beautiful experiments by saidiya hartman
socialism: utopian and scientific by friedrich engels
and also the Mahabharata! i've read parts before but i want to tackle the whole thing
6. Do you have any conceptual reading goals? E.g., I plan to read books on food history.
The big one is to read more recent/contemporary work!
12. What's your 2023 stance on rating/reviewing books?
I like to log and rate books just to keep track of everything, since I read a lot (it makes it easy to look at recent high ratings if someone asks for recs) but I usually don't write long reviews.
15. Any other reading you'll do in 2023 that you want to recommend to folks? Newspapers, substack, favorite blog, etc?
I want to start reading literary magazines (to continue the goal of being more aware of contemporary lit.) Some on my radar are: The White Review, Granta, and The Massachusetts Review

Not socialist in a “I won’t have to work” type of way but socialist in a “I’ll still be working but I won’t be worried I won’t make the rent” type of way. In a “billions won’t be hoarded by one person” type of way. In a “janitors, fast-food workers, child care workers, preschool teachers, hotel clerks, personal care and home health aides, and grocery store cashiers, will live comfortably” type of way. In a “the sick and elderly will be cared for” type of way. In a “no child should work” type of way.
