hey you! did you see this headline?
Tumblr media
I did, and I wasn't happy about it. Luckily I also did some further research. This article was posted today on goal.com and contains basically zero actual information, just a lot of empty words and more photos than necessary.
They credit the quote to 'a showbiz insider' on Twitter named MyTimeToShineHello. Last week, the Direct also ran a 'story' with this quote, though they're more skeptical about the source that, as far as I can tell, has no affiliation with Apple of JSudakis.
Tumblr media
So we can all calm down. We don't know anything new about s4 and likely won't for a while, until they start filming and the involved parties are given permission to.
That said, here's what I want to see from s4 of Ted Lasso/the new show centered around the women's team
For it to not be called Ted Lasso. He made his choice to go back home, as controversial as it may be in certain corners of the fandom. Let him stay there. Leave him out of this, or maybe flash between crazy football stuff and Ted at the zoo or something.
Definitely do not let him coach a women's team. I don't think he's got any experience with female athletes and would be so underqualified. This time Rebecca is not trying to sink the club.
Speaking of Rebecca: give her screentime. Give her complex plots that don't hinge on her asshole ex-husband or have her dating one of her much younger employees. Flesh out Danish boat guy, that's fine, or skillfully write him out.
Keeley! I don't care what she's doing, as long as she has so much screen time! (I'm not a roykeeleyjamie shipper at all but I recognize that I'm in the minority here so I'm not going to talk ships right now, partially because I haven't made up my mind)
New characters on the women's team. And at least three of them have to be gay. There are several out female footballers, so I see no reason why we can't have So Much lesbian drama happening: exs playing together for the first time in years, new romances, hidden relationships, fake dating, whatever. Maybe get Colin and Trent in there for community friendships
Speaking of Colin, I want cameos from the entire AFC Richmond men's team. Maybe one of Dani's girlfriends is also a football player (it would fit him well, since football is his life) or maybe they share training facilities? They should for sure do some press events together.
I want to see the pub lads not liking the idea of a women's team but then Mae plays nothing but women's matches for a week straight and they come around to it, eventually becoming the team's biggest supporters.
Oh I also want Isaac to be friends with (maybe fall in love with?) the captain of the women's team, who should for sure be bisexual.
As for who should coach since Ted is not on the table: for sure get a woman in there. I like Beard and Roy and Nate together at AFC Men's but of them, I can only see Nate transferring to work on the women's team
Roy is head coach, after all, and Beard is always part of a set. Nate had his issues with respect and boundaries but he's learned his lesson and we already know from his success at Westham that he's capable of being in that leadership role. But this time he'll have a real support system and not Rupert manipulating him.
Back to Trent: PR and journalism are really closely linked so if my department head can go from a career in sports journalism to a PR professional, then I see no reason why he can't do the same. Maybe as a member of KJPR, which is an agency employed by AFC Richmond, or as an internal PR specialist.
Okay that's all I can think of right now bye

I don't get it, why didn't they kneel?
Because they’re racist. I feel bad for the black player playing for them.

After another stellar 12 months of football for club and country, Sam Kerr has been rewarded with an upgraded FIFA 20 rating that leaves her as the equal-second best women's player on the game.
Given an overall rating of 89 last year, the Matildas captain's new rating has risen to 92 on FIFA 20 - which releases globally on September 27 .
With 90-rated dribbling and shooting, plus 86-rated pace, Kerr will take some stopping on the video game pitch this season.
Her stats in fact leave her as the second-highest rated female player on the game with only USWNT star and recent Women's World Cup winner Megan Rapinoe boasting a better rating of 93 overall.
Last year's Ballon d'Or winner Ada Hegerberg is notably not included in the game due to her decision not to line-up for Norway - with only women's international teams included in FIFA 20.
Kerr isn't the only female player with a 92 rating with French defender Wendie Renard also earning the impressive rating.
Kerr isn't the only highly rated Matilda on FIFA 20 with Elise Kellond-Knight Australia's next highest rated player at 83, closely followed by Lydia Williams and Katrina Gorry with ratings of 82.

While most players of his vintage are playing at a lower level or have even retired, the Juventus star remains at the very pinnacle of his profession
If Cristiano Ronaldo were like other Ballon d'Or winners, he would have hung up his boots by now, like Marco van Basten, Michael Owen or Zinedine Zidane, perhaps after a spell in MLS, like Kaka.
But Cristiano Ronaldo is not like other Ballon d’Or winners.
Eleven years on from first being crowned the best player in the world, the Portugal international, who turned 34 on Tuesday, is showing no signs of slowing down.
Where he will be several years down the line is impossible to predict, but he remains at the level he has been for well over a decade – among the world’s best.

The Argentine defender is among those in Amsterdam generating plenty of interest, and he admits a new challenge may be sought in the next window
Nicolas Tagliafico has opened the door for a possible summer move to Arsenal, with the Ajax defender conceding the next transfer window could be “a natural time to take the step”.
The Argentina international is among those in Amsterdam to be generating plenty of interest.
Frenkie de Jong already has a €75 million (£65m/$$84m) switch to Barcelona in place, while fellow Netherlands international Matthijs de Ligt has the pick of Europe’s top clubs should he want a new challenge.

Real Madrid ready to offer Mbappe something even PSG’s millions can’t buy

Real Madrid ready to offer Mbappe something even PSG’s millions can’t buy
The World Cup winner could be drawn to Santiago Bernabeu by the promise of becoming an icon at one of the game’s most legendary clubs
When Real Madrid return to Santiago Bernabeu for the first time in 559 days for their La Liga meeting with Celta Vigo on September 11, they may well have a new star in their ranks to show off in the form of Kylian Mbappe.
Los Blancos have already had a €160 million (£130m/$188m) offer for the World Cup winner rejected by Paris Saint-Germain, but with a little under a week remaining in the summer transfer window, they could yet return with a larger offer.
PSG sporting director Leonardo has admitted that Mbappe wants to go, but the Brazilian is digging his heels in over the matter, indicating that the club’s intention is to extend the player’s contract, with runs out in June 2022.
They will not, Leonardo has promised, accept an offer lower than the €180m including bonuses that brought Mbappe from Monaco to Parc des Princes.
Crucially, too, Leonardo says he has the France international’s word that he will not depart on a free transfer.
“Kylian Mbappe wants to leave, that seems clear to me,” he explained to RMC. “If he wants to leave, we won’t hold him back, but it’s on our terms.
“Our goal is to give him a contract extension and to keep him. That’s always been our goal and it still is.”
On the field, he has cut a carefree figure so far this season, despite knowing that this transfer issue was going to come to a head sooner or later.
He has been the instrumental figure in PSG securing three wins from three matches thus far in Ligue 1, returning one goal and two assists, plus contributing massively to another strike with a shot that was deflected into the net.
If he looked heavy legged at times last season, the Mbappe that has shown up this season is the thrilling, direct one of his earlier years.
Perhaps he feels he has a point to prove to the club’s management and Leonardo, in particular, with whom he has a frosty relationship.
With Neymar still on his way back following his summer exertions at the Copa America and Lionel Messi not yet fit enough to play, Mbappe has been PSG’s focus. It is a role in which he has thrived, but it is not one that he can become accustomed to.
Flanked by the two other PSG superstars, his own influence will be stifled. Instantly, he will go from being team leader to just another player.
What Mbappe has experienced in the three opening matches of Ligue 1, though, could be a tantalising taste of things to come for the 22-year-old should he make the move to Madrid.
In the Spanish capital, he would become not just ‘a star’ but ‘the star’.
And Real Madrid is not just any club. This is the side that has won 13 European Cups, more than any other in history; whose iconic white shirt has been worn by all-time greats from Alfredo Di Stefano and Ferenc Puskas through to Zinedine Zidane and, of course, Cristiano Ronaldo. This is a club that has inspired the dreams of millions of children around the world, among them a young Mbappe.
Those pictures of a 14-year-old Mbappe sitting on his bed at Monaco’s academy with the walls plastered in images of Madrid-era Ronaldo are testimony to his long-held aspiration to one day follow in the five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s footsteps and move to Los Blancos.
What is more, Mbappe has a unique opportunity to define a whole new era for Real Madrid.
Ronaldo’s 2018 departure to Juventus was a bookend to a period of unprecedented success in the modern game, as Madrid won three successive Champions League titles and four in five seasons.
The Covid-19 pandemic almost seemed to push the club into a state of hibernation as they shied away from spending in the transfer market, and instead shrewdly brought the renovation of the Bernabeu forward while decamping to the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano and preparing themselves for a glorious return.
They now want Mbappe to be the manifestation of their patience. At the Bernabeu, he would be emblematic of a new era, a figure to construct a team around as ageing stars such as Karim Benzema, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos are fazed out over the months and years ahead.
Real Madrid have not just offered Mbappe the opportunity to realise his teenage dreams, but to surpass them. It is a draw that even PSG’s millions cannot match.
This promises, then, to be the pivotal week in Mbappe’s already extraordinary career.
