My Travel Altar
The box itself (when I’m at home) serves as a mini altar to Lord Apollo. However I also use it as my travel altar/travel temple.
The tea light candle is to represent Lady Hestia.
The pentagram & orthoceras stones are for Lady Hekate.
The rose quartz & sea shell are for Lady Aphroditê.
The yellow agate & pendulum are for Lord Apollôn.
And the meditation beads & fuchsite are for Lord Hermes.
Two hamsa’s hang for protection
And the leaves on the inside of the lid are real pressed leaves.
The inscription reads “gnōthi sauton” - which means “know thyself”.
Bonus! When I am out and about but want to honor and feel close to my gods I’ll carry stones for them:
Rose Quartz for Lady Aphroditê, Aventurine for Lord Hermes, Carnelian Agate for Lady Hestia, Obsidian for Lady Hekate, and Banded-Agate (?) for Lord Apollôn.

If you silently sit
Still enough
Long enough
You will eventually
Diffuse
Dissolve
Dissipate
Until
Only This remains

Know thyself
Memento Mori mosaic from excavations in the convent of San Gregorio, Via Appia, Rome, Italy. Now in the National Museum, Rome, Italy. The Greek motto gnōthi sauton (know thyself, nosce te ipsum) combines with the image to convey the famous warning: Respice post te; hominem te esse memento; memento mori. (Look behind; remember that you are mortal; remember death.)
