SO YEAH: a bunch of you guys were asking about prints of my unique magic/signature spell posters, so here are 6.25" x 4.25", 300 PPI versions of the images (the extra .25" is for bleed, so that a 6 x 4" print will still have the white border without it getting weirdly cropped). my color experiments did, uhhh, not go very well, so there's no color-correction, sorry. :') they should print reasonably okay, but it will depend on your settings/printer/paper/etc., so I recommend doing test prints first if you can!

this is current with the Japanese version, so it does contain spoilers through episode 7, and for the Glorious Masquerade event -- I plan on keeping it updated as I do more, so it will continue to be pretty spoilery! no plACEholder though, sorry, I didn't do him at print resolution. :( there are also a couple of alternates, if you decide you like those better: a red background version of Cater (to fit in more with the rest of the hearts boys), and a version of Ortho's with the ??? in ascii instead of binary. edit: and now also the unused version of Vil's!

So uhhhhhh a silly thing happened.

Some GOADblins in The Beta Fishes The Big Fucks server made art and fic for birthday goblin westi/westcoastwag. Whispers were that kilt, Crowley, and knees were good keywords to keep in mind; then @shadowfang44 brought up Marilyn's Updraft Situation, and. Hello updraft kilt demon (that's just the same art on AO3 with some extra author's note waffling, you can comment and kudos if you're into that sort of thing)

We're in ink and watercolour pencil as usual, my wheelhouses apparently.

Please note that the tartan Crowley's wearing is (my attempt at) Heaven's Dress. I.e. Aziraphale's tartan. THE DEMON IS A MEMBER OF THE ANGEL'S FAMILY. Please I worked so hard on this symbolism

If you like the (oddly specific yet so very obviously amazing) trope Crowley, wearing a kilt, standing over an updraft like Marilyn Monroe, you should also check out Paper Demons, another gift for westi that ShoubuDesu and @wiblywoblytimeywimey754 made together in full chaos mode. It's art and fic (E-rated in the text portion, sliver of bare bum in the art), so it's at least double the trouble.

Oh, pro tip. Don't wear high-heeled snakeskin boots with kilt socks (I can't imagine it's very comfy) or with a kilt (it looks gauche). If Lily hadn’t downed those last two tequila shots, she might’ve wondered how she ended up here: squinting at the cards she’d been dealt while sneaking appreciative glances at the very impressive set of abs. They were a piece of art, really. Worthy of being displayed at the Louvre. Though she was delighted they were on display here and now. Really, ah, appreciative.

It had, of course, all been Sirius’ fault. The parties he threw were a legend on the campus, and an opportunity to let loose was all Lily needed right now, after somehow surviving the previous gruelling two weeks. As it always was at the end of a term, she’d been peppered with deadlines for various papers with other miscellaneous course work needing to be turned in — all the while she was somehow expected to study for the exams for her remaining courses.

So when Sirius had slid into her DMs with the party invitation, Lily had accepted it right away. She’d showed up at his party, and had gone on her merry way drinking, laughing, chatting and dancing the night away.

But all parties, even the best ones, eventually had to wind down. And somehow, as everyone else had been leaving, Sirius had coaxed her to stay. There had been that bottle of tequila and things started to get fuzzier from there. There had been boasts. A dare. A deck of card being brandished. And now there were abs.

Such glorious, glorious abs.

“Lily?”

“Hmm?”

“Do you need to change any cards?”

“Sure.”

Lily tossed out two cards from her hand and picked two from the deck to replace them. Then, she squinted at her shitty hand in confusion. Fuck. Had she just thrown out her queen? She hadn’t meant to do that. She slanted a glare at the stupid, distracting abs.

“It’s the moment of truth, people! Cards on the table.”

Holding out onto hope that someone had even worse a hand than she did, Lily laid down her cards. As her gaze skittered from one set of cards to the next, that hope sputtered and died. She’d lost the bloody round.

“YES!” Sirius exclaimed, all giddy. “I win again!”

“Your loss, Lily,” Remus said, nudging her shoulder.

“Yeah, yeah…”

Now, under any other circumstances, being a lone girl playing with three guys, Lily would have chosen her next move differently. But one of those guys was Sirius and the other was Remus and the third… Well.

If it had been just the abs, she might have still played it safe. But it wasn’t.

It was the messy dark hair falling onto his forehead in a tousled curl. It was the line of his jaw that seemed made for biting. It was the breadth of his shoulders, the flex of his forearms. It was that cocky, crooked grin of his. It was the way he’d made her laugh in five seconds when they’d met, earlier. It was that light, buoyant feeling bubbling inside after their brief chat. It was the way her skin tingled under the weight of his stare.

And, sure, the abs didn’t hurt.

Lily straightened, and as her fingers gripped the hem, she locked her eyes with James Potter. And held the stare, pulling up her dress, watching the way the hazel eyes twinkled and the pupils widened. Her vision was briefly obscured by the dress as she pulled it over her head, but the little choked sound she heard was gratifying. Once she tossed the dress behind her, she was rewarded by the sight of flushed cheeks and the column of his throat soundlessly working.

Sirius was dying of laughter while Remus stared at her, one eyebrow raised.

Lily glanced at him and shrugged, though the muffled groan following her gesture had a slow smile spread to her lips.

Remus rolled his eyes and dealt them all a new hand.

Lily picked up her cards but didn’t look at them. She was, instead, staring at James, who didn’t seem to be able to take his eyes off her.

Good. Lily grinned at him.

She loved poker, but she was moving onto a new game. One that promised to have more satisfying rewards.

The fic I just completed. I think this is my best plot with the possible exception of, well, see below. In the middle, I felt like I had so many balls in the air, I was afraid I wouldn't catch them all, or at least not gracefully, but I think I managed it. I've been working on my plots hinging on character choices. They walk through a door, the door shuts behind them, they cannot re-open it, and they change. I feel like I finally got it with this fic. And then there was the morning I woke up to find that @artsyunderstudy had drawn art for chapter 5 and my heart exploded. Except she kept drawing art and every time, I got to see my words come to life in the most beautiful way imaginable. Oh, oh! And then @monbons sewed me a little wings & tail Simon doll and Baz in his PJs, and I adore them ❤️❤️

Blood Sugar Sex Moony (63K, E)

The other contender for best plot. I think this is possibly my most creative fic. Sirius and Remus are both canon-compliant guerrilla soldiers from 1981 AND a goth-boy and star quarterback at a SoCal high school in the mid-90s. I wrote it for the 2023 @rsbigbang, which finally narrowed the wolfstar community down to a small enough group that I could make friends! It's also how I met @euripidestrousers who shaped this fic into what it became. And I was lucky enough to get the amazing artist @spikesteaseasalt as its illustrator.

A Little Bit Deadly (49K, E)

Derek Jeter. Need I say more? This fic was my introduction to the Carry On fandom, and that is reason alone for it to be one of my favorites. Y'all are a beautiful community of people who have been so kind and enthusiastic and welcoming. I'm delighted to be a part of you. ❤️ This fic was another one where I woke up from having posted the last chapter and found that @letraspal had made art - ART! And then she kept making art, including the glorious Mr. June. Derek Jeter was modeled on my amazing orange chonk who died, and every time I see Annie's drawings of him, it makes me cry a little. I feel like he gets to live on in this fic and Annie's art.

The Space Between (34K, M)

This is the first fic I wrote, having read absolutely zero fanfic. It was tagged entirely wrong, had a terrible summary, and only three kudos for, like, ages. But I had one enthusiastic reader who left me the kindest comments about my writing, and since then, it's gained its handful of fans who don't mind a little sadness. I still think it contains some of my prettiest writing, and I love the "behind the veil" space I created, which came out of my studies of Symbolist playwrights for my doctorate.

I wrote this ridiculous short story because I needed a break from my Big Bang fic, then wondered if I should post it at all because I thought it was too out there. But also, a sweet little fluffy love story - with a twist!

Looking to Homer and the Iliad and the funeral games for Patroclus, we can get a overview of the ancient greek funeral games. The body of the fallen was placed upon a funeral pyre, offerings or sacrifices are made, and the pyre burnes. In the funeral games was an opportunity for Greek men to compete and show their Arete, or excellence, in a given skill. Events like; Chariot races, boxing, wrestling, running, sword fighting, shotputting, archery, and javelin throwing. The winners of the contests could hope to be awarded the glorious olive wreath crown; or other precious objects like tripods or horses. In fact these funerary competitive games are seen as the ancient roots of the Olympic games. Although it was Hercules who created the first Olympic games to honor his father, Zeus.

When Paris, prince of troy is Aphrodite promising Helen to Paris, setting off the Trojan war.
