Gotye featuring Kimbra - Somebody That I Used to Know 2011
"Somebody That I Used to Know" is a song written, produced and performed by Australian musician and singer Gotye, featuring vocals from New Zealand singer Kimbra. The song samples Luiz Bonfá's 1967 instrumental song "Seville", with additional instrumentations of beats and a xylophone playing a melody based on "Baa, Baa, Black Sheep". The song was released in Australia and New Zealand on 5 July 2011 as the second single from Gotye's third studio album, Making Mirrors (2011). It was released in December 2011 in the UK, and 20 January 2012 in Ireland and the US.
In Australia, the song won the Triple J Hottest 100 poll at the end of 2011, as well as ARIA Music Awards for Song of the Year and Best Video, while Kimbra was voted Best Female Artist, and Gotye was named Best Male Artist and Producer of the Year. The song came ninth in the Triple J Hottest 100 of the Past 20 Years, 2013. At the 55th Annual Grammy Awards, "Somebody That I Used to Know" won two Grammys for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Record of the Year.
Commercially, "Somebody That I Used to Know" was a global success and became both artists' signature song. It reached the top of the charts in Australia, New Zealand, the UK and the US, as well as 25 other official charts, and reached the Top 10 in more than 30 countries. Globally, "Somebody That I Used to Know" has sold more than 20 million copies, becoming one of the best-selling digital singles of all time. Gotye paid tribute to the overwhelming number of cover versions of the song by personally creating a video remix, released in August 2012, using segments from hundreds of online covers to create a new, unique version of the track, titled "Somebodies: A YouTube Orchestra".
"Somebody That I Used to Know" received a total of 87,6% yes votes!

Partly for the prolific volume of projects artists release each year and partly for the fluid definition of an album (running anywhere from three to 13 tracks), an annual ranking of K-pop albums is never easy. As South Korea continues to extend its global musical influence, certain projects transcend hit-song compilations, presenting larger visions and conceptual narratives.
In 2023, stars like V, WOODZ and ONEW used their latest solo projects to share the music that inspires them at their core as artists and let listeners settle into sonic worlds they’ve developed.
[...]
First Place: Onew, Circle The First Album
While it’s somewhat criminal to think that 15 years after ONEW’s debut with SHINee in 2008 we only just received his first full Korean album, the singer-songwriter himself would say that now was the perfect time for Circle. A musical journey unlike anything released this year, ONEW shared that he had attempted to record the album’s title track before dropping his Dice EP in early 2022, but felt it wasn’t at the level of perfection it deserved and held onto the song. ONEW then involved himself in every aspect of Circle‘s production process, from meticulous mixing and mastering to tuning, beats, recording and mastering, attesting to the singer-songwriter’s dedication to artistic expression.
The single “O (Circle)” opens the album with an intriguing blend of electronica and strings, while its gospel-tinged chorus emphasizes lyrics about the circular nature of life and how memories, feelings and dreams are all fleeting. The 10 tracks on Circle develop unique transformations from start to finish: the breezy melodies in “Cough” are paired with loneliness-themed lyrics and a melancholy instrumental breakdown, while “Rain on Me” starts with aggressive acoustic guitar strumming before transitioning into an atmospheric, percussive ballad. Sweet surprises abound, too: ONEW scats on the jazz-rap hybrid “Caramel” and gives a glimpse into his indie-rock side on “Parachute.”
The album’s effortless flow is anchored by ONEW’s famously solid yet understated vocals. As Circle concludes with the tender piano ballad “Always” which addresses themes of loyalty and resilience, the listener wonders if it’s an allegory for ONEW’s public journey through health challenges, including vocal cord surgery. Even without any writing credits on Circle, ONEW’s presence is undeniably felt in this seamless collection that boasts an emotional depth brought on by 15 years in the game. That’s the kind of introspection you can’t rush or doctor through A&R but need to cycle through and arrive at when the moment is right. From scheduling this album’s release to the messages on the final track, time is definitely on ONEW’s side to deliver such a project. — J.B.

hey y'all, since it's spotify wrapped season, can i beg a moment of your time? no, im not about to get on a soapbox about spotify. spotify sucks but that's not what i want to talk about.
did you know that most recording artists in the united states don't have the legal right to organize a union? some musicians are unionized as part of SAG-AFTRA or the American Federation of Musicians (for instrumental musicians), but lyricists and composers are classified as "independent contractors." This decision was handed down by the national labor relations board in 1984 and has not been overturned.
this means that musicians cannot organize or negotiate for better deals from, for instance, spotify, without the threat of being sued due to antitrust laws. musicians who are not represented by a major label or who are not part of a large musical organization such as an orchestra have very little bargaining power. source
fixing this situation will take a lot of work -- there's not a single easy solution. but in an era where we're seeing union growth and historic labor wins, i think now is the time to dream big. musicians need to organize ourselves on the ground to create collective power. we also need wider political interest and momentum around the necessity of musicians' rights.
this isn't time for you to say "yea im never gonna pay full price for music, sorry" or "musicians just have to accept that the market's saturated and devalued." this is time for us to try to envision a music industry where artists can be compensated for their creative labor and music can still remain accessible and easy to discover. changing the labor situation in the united states is just one piece of changing a global music industry, but it could have a big impact on the future.
if you're in the united states, there are two active efforts that you can ask your representatives to support -- one congressional bill introduced by Deborah Ross, and a resolution introduced by Rashida Tlaib.
H.R. 5576 - Protect Working Musicians Act of 2023 - sponsored by Artist Rights Alliance
H.Con.Res. 102 - Resolution for a new Streaming Royalty - sponsored by United Musicians and Allied Workers
i know there is so much to organize around right now. but if you're in the united states and have predominantly used spotify this year, or posted about spotify wrapped, please take a moment to send a message to your representatives about these bills. all you need to do is fill in your info, the letters are already written for you.
and please share this widely. thank you!!

“Did you get the files I sent to you?”
The woman nods her head in affirmation while sweeping a few pieces of her long, silky hair behind an ear. To strangers, she appears to look about 24 which is only four years younger than yourself but nonetheless she’s the same age as you. Hei-Ran is her name, meaning “graceful orchid” according to Korean translation.
Hei-ran is one of Hybe’s newest hires and based on her experience, a near perfect fit to being South Korean boy group Tomorrow X Together’s new marketing manager. Until about three months ago, this had been your job.
You never imagined giving up the position after three years of working in the role. But with December right around the corner Hybe had other plans for you.
"Graduated summa cum laude with a bachelors degree in BTech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and a MBA in Marketing from NYU Stern. You worked two years as a brand manager for U.S record label Atlantic Records immediately after graduating, and are now working at BigHit Music as a marketing manager for TXT including liaison with their global marketing team.”
You recall PD Bang’s voice vibrate in the back of your mind from mid-August. You thought you were called into his office to discuss details of TXT’s latest promo, so having your resume read back to you was a sweeping curve ball. Your determination must have far exceeded the heaviness you felt in your chest because before you knew it you, you were shaking hands with your boss in acceptance of your role – the new marketing director for Min Yoongi’s upcoming D-Day album & tour.
The tedious knot that’s formed in the nape of your neck reminds you that as surreal as the situation might be, it’s undeniably real.
Months spent drafting a comprehensive marketing proposal for D-Day; often until the wee hours of the night, inevitably takes its toll on even the mightiest of warriors. An entire new team of fifty people, all of who you’ll be in charge of orchestrating for the next eight months, doesn’t provide much to relief either.
You’re excited nevertheless. Working with one of the most respected artists in the music industry is an opportunity you couldn’t let slip by, especially since the album’s rock-inspired genre aligns closely with your own music taste.
“Thank you so much for helping me get settled __,” Hei-ran’s gentle voice returns you to the present. “I appreciate the time you’ve taken these last few months to train me despite the tight deadlines you have.”
Smiling, you shake your head. “It’s no problem at all and if there’s anything you need in the future, feel free to give me a call or stop by my office.”
“On the 16th floor right?”
“1656A. Take a left off the elevator and walk to the end of the first hallway. The door on the right is mine.”
Referring to any room on the 16th floor as your own is something you don’t take lightly. For one the offices are double the size of any other office spaces in the building. Yours in particular has a giant skyscraper window draped with heavy white curtains. Secondly, the floor above is the 17th floor which is exclusive to Hybe artists only.
"How's the proposal coming along, by the way?" Her curiosity is palpable, genuine in its nature. You’ve always appreciated that in an individual.
“It’s done,” you respond. “Only thing left to do is to prepare for our meeting with C-suite executives next Monday. It’s nearly perfect as is, but the presentation could use a bit of refining in terms of organization.”
Hei-ran is silent for a moment longer than usual before her next inquiry, which is undoubtedly the question on both of your minds. “I can't help but wonder what it'll be like to meet him for the first time,” she muses.
You don’t bother asking for clarification on who the “him” is; you’re already well aware that it’s Min Yoongi. The same subject has managed to intrude your own thoughts more and more as the date of meeting him draws closer. It's peculiar honestly, considering you’ve encountered him before. Granted, it was only a small handful of times the hallway, both heading in opposite directions. Min Yoongi typically greeted you with a hoarse 'Good Morning' those instances, along with a curt nod of his head. You would nod back with a brief 'Morning' yourself. Deep down you feel he'd make a quality friend, though it's only a premonition. It’s not like you actually know much about him beyond those small exchanges.
"I'm not sure what to expect, honestly," you admit. "I imagine it'll be similar to previous professional collaborations—composed, focused, and intense. D-Day is poised to become a global sensation for the next year, so it's going to need our full, undivided attention."
Hei-ran gives a knowing nod. “Good luck __,” she wishes you well as you head towards the elevator doors. Breaks over, back to work.
a/n: Chapter one will be released soon 🙃 Thanks for reading the teaser!

Just One Night
Idol AU | Norton Campbell x F!Reader NSFW
Content warning: creampie, rough sex, sex for a favor, light latino Norton headcanon, dick describing, 2K words, MDNI
(A/n: my masterpiece, i'm so proud of this,,,I LOVE NORTON ARGH)
smut under the cut!
Ah yes, the infamous City Dome Concert, held only once every four years, making it one of the most prestigious events for upcoming and rising artists. As the saying goes, if you make it to the Dome, you'll be known. Everyone wanted to be there, including you, yourself.
Being the leader of a devoted band for so long has taken its toll on you. Endless nights spent songwriting and recording, vocal practices, and band meet-ups have become your daily routine, but oh well, it was all expected, you signed up for this and the Dome Concert is everything you need, the last step to your dreams, an important stepping stone before making it big. When your band landed at the top of the pending list, everything seemed to fall apart so suddenly.
And of course, as usual, Norton Campbell, one of the more globally famed band members, and his band stood at the top, just like at every event. It's not like they needed the Dome Concert anymore, you initially thought. With his pleasantly endearing face and fresh set of skills, he could go anywhere, even on the front page of your favorite monthly fashion magazine. It was truly unfair.
It was also unfair that the two of you happened to start at the same spot, same school, same class, being musical rivals for the lead roles. It always ended with you as the lead vocalist and him as the guitarist, but honestly, he just had to flourish more than you did, signing a contract with that stupid well-off idol company and branched out from there. Unfair, you thought again, slamming the magazine with his face on the cover onto the table.
With the upcoming Dome Concert, a preliminary briefing was held, inviting all members from both the approved and pending lists. This made you feel slightly salty, but who knows? Someone might give up their position for the concert tonight, you slightly hoping someone will. With Flashing cameras, paparazzi, and screaming fans waited outside right in front of the hall entrance, Norton's wave of voices being the loudest among them. Clicking your tongue in response, you headed in with the rest of your band members, dispersing once inside the eminent party.
You reached for a glass of white wine, savoring its flavor, refreshing taste as you took frequent sips. Above you, the crystal chandeliers glistened, casting a warm, elegant glow over the room. The venue was blessed like a grand banquet hall, with luxurious decorations and lavish details. You wore your favorite bodycon dress, its design perfectly incinuating your figure and revealing your striking back. Every aspect of the evening, from the wine to your attire, conveying your refined taste and style.
In the midst of the crowd, the laughs and chats of other artists or celebrities, Campbell stood out, already eyeing you with a glass of red wine in hand, a sharp contrast towards your own preference for white. His approach was slow and unhurried, each and every step of his was intended on his black-leather loafers, his well-tailored suit impeccably matched to your elegant garment.
"Why, hello," he chimed, a smirk playing on his lips. "Someone didn't make it to the Dome again this year~", he continued, his grin widening with each word. The tone was all too familiar, one you had come to despise over the years you spent with him.
"Well, I worked my way up here. I can wait for next time," you huffed, a sullen look crossing your face as you placed your glass down with a bit more force than intended.
"Tell you what, I'll give you my spot," he said lightly, another grin following his words. You knew him too well, he wouldn’t give up such a coveted position without wanting something in return.
"What are you implying, Campbell?" Your tone sharpened, suspicion and annoyance mixed in your words as you stared him down, cautious of any tricks up his sleves.
"One night," he said, holding up one finger in front of your face, "One night with me, hermosa."
The world around you seemed to fade away, the noise of the crowd becoming distant. His proposition wasn’t anything new, he had done this a couple of times to you but he never forced you into it, and you weren’t inexperienced either. But Norton? Your childhood friend? It felt strange, but not wrong, the gears in your mind turned rapidly. You needed this position, and he wasn’t the worst anyways.
As you weighed his proposal, your thoughts raced back to your shared history. Norton had always been the golden boy, effortlessly charming and talented, while you had fought for every bit of recognition. His flirtatious remarks, though frequent, had never carried this much weight before. He watched you intently, waiting for your response. The stakes were high, and he knew it. The opportunity to perform at the Dome was a dream, a career-defining moment. Could you set aside your pride, for one night?
Norton leaned in closer, his voice dropping to a whisper. "Think about it. This could be your only chance."
You took a deep breath, your resolve hardening. "Alright, Norton. One night. And i'll get your spot? How can i trust you on this?"
A triumphant smile spread across his face. "Here~" he said, a small envelope, filled with the official invitation inside, to the Dome.
And as promised, that night, you found yourself walking into the mentioned five-star hotel, clutching the keycard Norton had slipped into your hand before disappearing into the crowd. Damn it, Norton, you cursed silently, taking a deep breath before heading inside. As you approached his door, you hesitated, your heart pounding, opening the door there stood Norton in a bathrobe, a satisfied smile playing on his lips.
"Welcome," he said, opening the door fully and gesturing for you to enter his private room. The room was offly neat, different from the boy you grew up with, who never bothered to pick up his laundry or tidy his space, it was trully a surprising improvement.
Without further idle chatter, Norton gently grabbed your chin, leaning in for a kiss by the room door, his eyes searching yours for permission as you responded by pushing your head slightly forward, meeting his lips.
As you kissed, you couldn't help but wonder if this was all about that sudden deal or what you had wanted all along. Why'd you reply to the kiss so soon? Your train of thought was soon stopped as he lifted you effortlessly, his hands gripping your thighs as your legs wrapped around his waist. The kiss deepened, the scent of your shampoo filling his senses, making everything feel hazy.
He carried you to the king-sized bed, laying you down gently. Continuing the kiss, each one was long and deep, filled with unspoken desires. "I've been waiting for you, cariño," he muttered between kisses, his hands roaming over your body, removing your garments one by one.
"Looks like someone's more prepared than I thought," he remarked, eyeing your matching set of black lingerie, his favorite color. Maybe, subconsciously, you DID want this too.
"Ah, cariño, you're going to be the end of me," he gasped out as he removed the last pieces of your clothing, revealing your body to him. Your plump breasts, with blushed nipples bouncing as it grasped away from your upper undergarment, and your soft thighs, meticulously cared for, seemed to drive him insane each following second.
Norton had anticipated this more than you realized. Ever since your debut, he had attended every one of your concerts, silently watching from the VIP row, watching you grow each time. You had never noticed him, but he had always wanted you, waiting patiently for this moment. Now, with you finally in his grasp, he was determined to make you his.
"I would do foreplay, but you just look so captivating in front of me, mami. Let's skip it, shall we?" Norton suggested, his voice thick with lust.
Heat rose to your core as he pulled down his boxers, his member growing at the sight of your naked body. Norton was... well-endowed, his length and girth impressive, veins prominent along the shaft, the tip flushing a deep maroon, not forgetting how well-groomed he is, making him even more irresistible.
Seeing your state, he moved closer, placing both palms on your knees. "Open your legs for me, baby," he murmured, kissing each of your kneecaps tenderly. You surrendered immediately, your tense muscles relaxing as you spread your legs for him. Both his dominance and gentleness was overwhelming for your heart, messing with your thoughts and making you more eager for what was to come.
As Norton positioned himself between your legs, tension crept back in regardless of how experiened you were. The reality of the situation made you anxious by the second, nerve-wrecked. Fucking your childhood friend? But as Norton leaned in for another kiss, you decided to let go of your doubts and bask in the moment, forgetting all about your worries.
He pushed his girth in, feeling every gushy wall of yours warmly wrapped around him. His erection stretched your tight walls, making you bubble up a moan ever so loudly, it was music to his ears. Everything was a haze for him, overstimulation taking over. It didn’t take long before he started moving, your ass slapping against his pelvis, releasing lewd noises that filled you up.
Norton couldn't take his eyes off you. He was impatient, desperate for you. "Tighter—fuck, you're so amazing. You feel amazing," he whimpered out while fucking you senseless. Norton didn’t want to take this one night for granted and used it all to its fullest, pouring his heart into every thrust. Your pussy clamped down on his length, making him shudder each time he pulled it out and slammed back in, his heavy balls slapped against your puffy folds.
"Ay, I'm so crazy for you, corazón," he gasped as you rode him, your breasts bouncing in front of his eyes, you could even feel his member growing even bigger inside you. The air was thick with moans and groans. His hands were firm on your hips, occasionally swaying them outwards and pulling them back in. Your hands caressed his abs, feeling the every chiseled ones as you bounced on his cock. Just how many times have you came tonight?
As the clock had finally hit 3 o'clock, the two of you were in the bathroom, telling yourself it's "cleanup time" but you both ended up asking for more, your legs thrown over his shoulders as he pushed himself in deeper than before. Norton loves to mutter small compliments, mesmerized by how beautiful you looked under him. Your throat was dry from the sounds you’d made all night, and your legs weakened with each passing second.
Everything soon came to an end, the mixture of your juices dripping down from your pussy, sweat making his hair stick to his forehead, making him just more attractive each passing second. He plunged in one last thrust, trying to pull out to release outside. But you, being the cheeky woman that you are, locked your legs around his hips, pushing him back in with the last of your energy. Norton couldn't hold himself back, the tight knot around his abdomen soon all came lose as he released deep inside you. His warm semen smearing all over your puffy walls as he can finally pull out.
"Cheeky much, you're gonna pay for that," he muttered with a giggle soon following. Planting a light kiss on your forehead before lifting you into the bathtub. The water was cold from when you both had left them, but the moment was enough to melt your heart. Was it really about the deal, or was it the unnoticed feelings you had for your childhood friend all these passing years?
Norton carefully cleaned every part of your body, constantly asking if anything hurt. You could only laughed, charmed by his caring side.
"I love you, mi vida."
The whole world seemed to stop for both of you. The water suddenly stilled down, and the dim bathroom lights cast a soft glow on the scene. Your heartbeat quickened, and you swore he could hear it too. He was cradling you from behind, his head resting on your shoulder as he whispered those words out.
"Be mine? Por favor?"

Thinking about their struggles, when it all would get too much, what do they do…
Travel TOGETHER
2017
It would only be during their MMA 2018 after winning the Dasaeng that Jin would reveal the depths of their troubles, that the group had been contemplating disbandment.
youtube
At the time in their career they were reaching new successful career heights, but also impossible physical and mental lows as a team and individuals. They documented this time period after the fact, in their show ‘Monuments: Beyond the Star’ and also their autobiography ‘Beyond The Story: 10 Year Record of BTS’.
BTS were reaching new heights in their career, starting to receive greater Western awareness and achievements, after already making waves in their home country of South Korea (debuting in 2013) and Japan where they debuted the following year. They were in the final stretch of their Wings World Tour, which had started in February 2017, but all was not well for the group members.
They were overwhelmed and overworked and each trying to cope in their own ways, sometimes leaning on each other or others but mostly trying to power through alone.
As a belated birthday gift for Jimin (whose birthday was Oct 13th), when the members had some downtime from their tour dates, which would end in December 2017, Jungkook paid and planned for the two of them to go to Tokyo. Somewhere Jimin had wanted to go when not working.
Jimin had expressed interest in visiting Disney and had also through the years, expressed the desire to be able to spend personal time travelling with Jungkook as well.
Jungkook brought Jimin’s desires to life in the middle of one of their most difficult times in their careers.
Jimin & Jungkook head to Tokyo 2017
2023
Another milestone period in the groups career, this time it wasn’t the looming consideration of disbandment plaguing the members but the inevitable pause of group activities, with all of them agreeing to complete their country’s mandatory military service for all able South Korean men.
Time and time again the members have let it be known their love for performing, being active members of the group and being able to connect with their fans, ARMY.
This time Jimin and Jungkook weren’t part of a group 4 years into their stardom but members of an established, globally accomplished group of 10+ years worth of fans, success and stardom.
Before enlisting in the army, something that had been the subject of national and international discourse for years. Before they would be under instruction from military superiors and surrounded by new comrades they’d never met before. Jimin and Jungkook decided to not just travel to Tokyo together like they had done in 2017, but visit several spots, to enjoy each other and the world before essentially being benched for 18 months.
Jimin & Jungkook head to Tokyo 2023
Why I Think They Share
2017
Jimin and Jungkook both documented the trip to Tokyo in their own styles and shared it online.
It was a trip for the two of them, but like anyone who goes on a trip, sometimes during it or sometimes when we return, we post on our IG, our FB etc. We share videos and photos with our friends and family, our colleagues even our neighbours. We want to revel in the memories, share the stories of the fun we had, places we saw and food we ate.
Jimin’s video is totally that vibe…whilst GCF Tokyo is something so much more.
2023
Now superstars as a group and in their own right as solo artists, more internationally known than ever before and in the middle of (more than a break from a tour) solo promotions and preparing to retreat from society to serve in the military for a year and a half Jimin & Jungkook still made it possible. They still made it possible to enjoy time with each other and travel but also to share that like before.
This time not a video by Jimin and a GCF by Jungkook but an 8 part series! Not one trip but several trips, not a video each from Jimin & Jungkook but several episodes on a globally accessible platform. Something for people to watch whilst they are out of the public eye, they enjoyed during and now we can enjoy now.
I’ve said this before with Jikook and I’ll say it again.
Some things change but some things stay the same
🖤🤍
TL;DR as third parties watch after the fact and be happy, smile and laugh at the fun times they enjoyed with each other. Witness and appreciate their sincerity and bond. Hope they have many more opportunities to do this whenever they need and want to, not just when rough times are had or coming. Be happy for them.

Adele - Rolling in the Deep 2010
"Rolling in the Deep" is a song by English singer-songwriter Adele from her second studio album, 21 (2011). It is the lead single and opening track on the album. The song was composed by Paul Epworth and Adele in a single afternoon following Adele's breakup with her boyfriend. It was her reaction to, "being told that my life was going to be boring and lonely and rubbish, and that I was a weak person if I didn't stay in the relationship. I was very insulted, and wrote that as a sort of 'fuck you'."
"Rolling in the Deep" received widespread critical acclaim with praise drawn towards the song's production, its lyrics, and Adele's vocal performance. It represented a commercial breakthrough for Adele, propelling her to global superstardom. The song topped the charts in twelve countries and reached the top 10 in over twenty territories. It was Adele's first number-one song in the US, reaching the top spot on many Billboard charts, including the Billboard Hot 100 where it was number one for seven weeks. By February 2012, "Rolling in the Deep" had sold over 8.7 million copies in the US, making it the best-selling digital song by a female artist in the US, the second-best-selling digital song in the US and Adele's best-selling single outside her native country, topping her previous best-selling "Chasing Pavements". Worldwide, it was the fifth-best-selling digital single of 2011 with sales of 8.2 million copies. As of 2019, with sales of over 20.6 million copies worldwide, "Rolling in the Deep" is one of the best-selling digital singles of all time.
Its music video received a leading seven nominations at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, including for Video of the Year, and won three other awards: Best Editing, Best Cinematography and Best Art Direction. "Rolling in the Deep" was also the Billboard Year End Hot 100 Number One Single of 2011. At the 54th Annual Grammy Awards, it won awards for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Short Form Music Video, making it just the second song in Grammy history to win all three awards after "We Are the World" in 1986. Various critics and music publications ranked it as the best song of the year on their end-of-year lists with Rolling Stone ranking it at number 8 spot on its list of "The 100 Greatest Songs of the 21st Century". In 2021, the song was ranked at number 82 on the list of Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
"Rolling in the Deep" received a total of 87,7% yes votes!

Louis Tomlinson has revealed he was left gutted after failing to secure tickets for the upcoming Oasis reunion tour next year but is praying luck will be on his side
Louis Tomlinson was amongst the millions of disappointed Oasis fans
By Daniel Bird, Assistant Showbiz Editor | 16:46, 1 Sep 2024
Louis Tomlinson shared his heartache after being caught up in the Oasis reunion ticket drama.
The iconic Manchester band, fronted by warring brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher last week confirmed they would be reuniting almost 15 years after Noel walked out. Confirming their reunion, the band announced a 17 date tour across the United Kingdom and Ireland, playing venues such as Manchester's Heaton Park, Wembley Stadium and Dublin's Croke Park.
But while fans were ecstatic over the news, millions were left devastated when they logged into sites such as Ticketmaster and See Tickets to try and get their hands on tickets. Fans were faced with a string of technical errors, including queues to get into the official queue, sites going down due to unprecedented demand and 'Dynamic Pricing' tickets.
Ticketmaster came under fire from Oasis fans when it emerged that standing tickets, priced at €86.50 for Dublin and £148 for the UK had rocketed to an eyewatering £356. One fan caught up in the drama was none other than Out Of My System hitmaker Louis Tomlinson, 32.
While attending the Monza Grand Prix, Louis was questioned by Sky Sports' broadcaster Martin Brundle about whether he had secured tickets. “I didn't! I was in the queue, but I never got a number," he commented. Doncaster-born Tomlinson went on to add: "To be honest, I got caught up with qualifying yesterday but I did try."
Martin stated that Oasis themselves might send Louis tickets for an upcoming concert, with the musician responding: "I've got my fingers crossed!" When asked about the atmosphere on the grid, Louis said: "It's an honour to be here with Ferrari at Monza, just an incredible experience."
Cheeky-chap Tomlinson was on site when Ferrari's Charles Leclerc bagged the top prize at the Italian Grand Prix, with the pair beaming from ear-to-ear as they posed with one another. Louis' appearance at the Grand Prix comes just days after he performed at his first UK festival as a solo artist.
Despite finding fame as one-fifth of One Direction in 2010 and achieving global success in his own rights, Louis attracted "one of the biggest crowds of the day with his first UK festival performance," said bosses of Victorious Festival. While has has two solo albums of his own, including a Number One record, Tomlinson performed a string of One Direction songs including fan favourite, Where Do Broken Hearts Go, as well as a collection of his own tracks such as Bigger Than Me and Kill My Mind.
BBC News reported that 80,000 fans flocked to the event to support Tomlinson. Addressing the huge crowd, Louis said: "Victorious Festival, how are you doing? This is my incredible band, I'm Louis Tomlinson. This is my first festival in the UK, so thank you for coming out. Thank you for having me. We're gonna have a good time."

Trick or treat gewis edition pls?🧡
This is part of a (currently) abandoned WIP, and so I will reward you with a longish (albeit unbeta'd and unedited) excerpt under the cut...
This was my Tour Manager George/Music Superstar Lewis AU...
Waking up with a headache was never a great start to the day.
Waking up with a headache naked was always an even worse way to start the day.
George clutched his forehead tightly, pressing his face deeper into the soft pillow and willing the dull throb behind his eyes to dissipate sooner rather than later.
He groaned softly, the room filling with the distant sounds of honking horns, revving engines and rush hour traffic, his mind racing faster as he contemplated waking up and facing reality.
His phone vibrated on the nightstand and George groped around blindly, cursing under his breath as a discarded bottle of Dom Perignon rolled onto the carpet, luckily already drained of its contents. He peered at the screen, hundreds of notifications paling into insignificance as he read the latest text from his boss, reminding him of their meeting scheduled later that day.
George rolled onto his back, finally taking in the sight of the room around him, snapshots of the previous night flooding back to him, leaving him with an impending sense of dread as his memories assembled into a somewhat more lucid sequence of events.
He sat up slowly, rubbing roughly at his eyes with his fingertips, letting out a soft groan as he confirmed his worst fears.
The Presidential Suite of the Central Park Ritz Carlton looked like a crime had been committed within it, ransacked in the midst of some kind of smash and grab robbery gone wrong. Clothes lay strewn across the floor, in a Hansel and Gretel-esque breadcrumb trail from the door to the bed. One set noticeably more expensive looking than the other.
A half drunk bottle of Grey Goose stood on the coffee table beside two shot glasses, one tipped over, spilling liquid across the glass tabletop. Three more bottles of champagne sat unopened and amongst them all stood four shining Grammy Awards. A sign of victory and success and the culmination of years of hard work. It had been worth celebrating.
If only it had been his name on them.
XNDA was at the top of his game right now, finally reaping the rewards of hours of blood, sweat and quite literally tears. Weeks away from home and loved ones on the promotional trail, long nights in recording studios and on video shoots, smiling through the lows to ensure every interview was his best. When he'd stood on stage at Madison Square Gardens the previous night, glowing under the lights as he accepted the Album of The Year award for his debut album +44 (along with Best New Artist, Best Progressive R&B Album and Best R&B Performance ), finally accepted and validated by his peers, George couldn't have felt prouder.
He'd never set out to be a personal assistant, but his organisational skills and his eye for detail had made it a perfect fit for him. It never felt like a chore, instead he felt privileged to be part of the inner circle. In awe of the other man's abilities, but an integral cog in the machine making sure everyone else got to appreciate them too.
To him he wasn't XNDA, global music superstar and icon in the making. To him he was just Lewis. They were friends but more than that they were a team. A deep, complex understanding of each other that had been borne of hours on the road in enforced company. Learning to work together but also learning how to support each other. They had boundaries, although George was somewhat concerned that what had transpired after Lewis invited him into his hotel room to celebrate and delivered a sweet, heartfelt and maybe somewhat tipsy thank you speech to him, had maybe crossed those. He hoped not irreversibly.
George slid slowly from between the soft sheets, rolling his neck and relishing in the soft click. He felt a scratching sensation across his stomach, glancing down in confusion. A tut of disgust escaped his lips as he peeled a torn condom foil from his abdomen, his skin still sticky with dried champagne and, he was sure, "other residue".
He padded softly across the floor, scooping up his discarded boxers from where they were hooked across the back of the armchair, unable to hide his smirk as a vignette of the previous night reappeared in his mind. Deep in the throes of...passion? Lust? Ill-advised drunken stupor? He wasn't quite sure which yet, but the gorgeous sight of Central Park and New York at night had served as a beautiful backdrop that even his hangover couldn't quell the memory of.
George collected his other remaining clothes, balling them up into his arms as he tiptoed across to the bathroom, stepping over at least two used condoms on his way. He paused in the doorway, glancing back at the bed and sighed, taking in one last look at Lewis still sleeping peacefully in the sheets and knowing that when he came back out, last night had to be consigned to history and it was back to reality.
It had to be. For his sanity at least.
He locked the bathroom door behind himself and groaned, dropping his clothes down on the tiled floor, resisting the urge to drop down and join them. The shower cubicle on the other side of the room was ridiculously large, in keeping with the rest of the room, and he fiddled with the water taps, trying to get the temperature just right.
He caught sight of himself in the large mirror, his hips mottled with the soft bruise of fingertips. His collarbone littered with the purple mark of hickeys. He was pretty sure he had a turtle neck in his suitcase, provided he could get to it without anyone seeing.
The shower had done nothing to ease his mind, seemingly incapable of slowing the racing thoughts through his brain or of banishing them entirely. The dull throb in his forehead persisted and he wasn't sure anymore if it was a hangover or just the sheer amount of over thinking his brain was doing.
As he pulled the previous night's clothes back on, the soft wrap on knuckles against the door broke him from his procrastination.
"George?" Lewis' voice was soft, laced with an evident concern. "Are you in there?"
George swallowed down a smirk. Any other day he'd have shot back with a sarcastic jibe, but right now it didn't seem the time. He fumbled with the lock and pulled the door back, plastering on a smile.
"Hey," He croaked, the sight of Lewis in his boxers suddenly far more distracting than he'd realised previously. He grabbed his phone from his pocket and began tapping on the screen, bringing up the day's itinerary. "You'll be happy to hear I planned ahead for you winning." He announced, his smile widening as he walked back into the room. "We have a late start. Nothing planned until 1. Toto's in town as well and wants to meet up so I booked Carbone. You have the interview for radio at 3 and then we fly back to London at 7 but need to be at the airport by 5."
"George."
Lewis' tone had changed, more stern than before. George turned back to face him.
"We need to talk about last night." The older man sighed, stepping across the room but leaving a noticeable gap between them.
"Do we?" George mumbled, dropping his arms to his sides, his feet suddenly becoming incredibly interesting. Lewis tutted, sinking down onto the end of the bed.
"Yes." He insisted firmly, seemingly undeterred about having this conversation dressed only in a tight pair of black Calvin Kleins. "Neither of us were exactly sober last night and I don't want to think I overstepped or..." He tailed off, twiddling his fingers together. "I need to know that I didn't..."
George suddenly realised what he was getting at.
"Oh... bloody hell... Lewis, no." He muttered, stepping closer and closing the gap, the words rushing out of his mouth in his haste to diffuse any misunderstanding. "I'm totally fine with everything that happened last night. You have nothing to worry about." He mumbled, his lips pulling into an awkward smile. "I had fun."
It felt dangerous to admit the full extent of how much he'd enjoyed it. It felt like career suicide to admit he'd maybe even... wanted it? He still couldn't process quite where those thoughts had come from
Lewis glanced up at him with a nod, his lips slowly pulling into a matching devious smile. "Yeah, I did too." He swallowed heavily. "I don't think we should do it again though." He added frankly.
"Oh god no. Definitely not." George agreed with a nervous chuckle, happy to agree to whatever scenario would make things the least awkward. Just two friends doing something dumb together. No complications.
"Okay, well... that's good." Lewis nodded, rising to his feet and grabbing a towel from the sideboard and making towards the bathroom. He stopped suddenly, turning back. "Oh, before I forget." He bit his bottom lip. "I'm really sorry to do this, but I'm going to need you to sign that." He sighed, gesturing towards the desk, a piece of paper laid out with a pen placed neatly on top.
George stepped towards it, his heart sinking as he saw what it was, recognising it instantly. An NDA. He'd stood by enough times as he'd watched other people sign them. He'd smiled awkwardly at all manner of people, trying to hide his own discomfort as they'd signed it all away for just one night with Lewis. He'd just never figured he might be one of those people himself.
"Yeah, sure." He mumbled, waving a dismissive hand in the air. He wanted to seem as cool about the whole thing as possible. "I'll sort it out."
Maybe it was going to be awkward after all.
#gewis#There is more of this and I only discovered the other day I had saved it#I still love the concept I just got lost with the way I was taking it and was struggling to bring it back around...#Maybe one day I'll rescue it

Q: I don’t need the Bailey Kay Superstar Social Media Special. Maybe an assistant, so I don’t miss out on a dope opportunity because my inbox is flooded with enthusiastic butterflies. BK: Aht Aht! This is not about the Hive! This is about the thirsties slipping and sliding into your dms. My butterflies know how to act. Q: Oh really?! BK: Yes really.
Q: That’s funny because… let me see… here… Yeah I definitely got nudes from… wildbutterfly and a sexybfly4liiiife with four i’s. BK: So we’re keeping messages with nudes now, Quinton??? Q: Damn. The government?? Penny, help! Penny: You two are hilarious. This is quality entertainment. Maybe we should reconsider the reality show. BK&Q: NO!
BK: What’s with the face sir? Are we boring you? Khalil: I’m just wondering when we’re gonna talk about the elephant in the room. BK: ( Shit. How does he know?? ) Penny: Khalil, now is not the time. We’re celebrating. Q: No, get it off your chest because you’re definitely killing the vibe.
-
This was wordy so continue reading below…
Khalil: Look, I gave in with the residency decision, but I’m not rolling over on this retirement thing. I think it’s stupid and a huge fucking mistake. BK: Well damn. Khalil: I don’t get it B. You love this. Music is life. Performing is life. Your fans. All of it. Why would you stop now? BK: You’re right. I do love it. And music has been my life, but I’ve done it all. I’ve accomplished every one of my goals when it comes to being an entertainer. I’m ready to move on.
Khalil: This is crazy. You’re at the top of your game. Now is when you cement your legend status. All the greats are still recording and performing into their adult years, some even elders! BK: I hear you, but right now I just want to do things on my terms and time. I want to focus on my family. I want to help other artists make their dreams come true. Maybe even discover something else I love. Khalil: This industry moves fast. You know that. If you quit, there’s no guarantee you’ll get your spot back. Everyone will move on to the next hot thing. BK: I’m not worried about that. If I come back it will be out of love for the music. I don’t need to chase the fame and the top spot anymore.
Khalil: Did you forget about the 2 albums left on your contract? BK: No, I- Q: Are you really bringing up contracts right now?! Khalil: No one is listening to logic so yes I’m talking about legal obligations. Q: Clearly you didn't hear one thing she just said. You’re still only worried about what she can do for you.
Khalil: Q, stay in your lane. I don’t tell you how to do your job. Don’t tell me how to do mine. Q: Maybe you should think about something else other than the job. There is more to life. Khalil: Here you go with your speeches on family life. Focusing on the job got me, your wife and you the success you have now. You conveniently forget that. The family sim thing is for you. That’s great. But let me and B do what we do best and make sure we all stay winning. BK: It doesn’t have to be an either or situation. Both can be possible. Khalil: Retirement is not both. Retirement is quitting and that’s not the Global Superstar BK that I signed. It’s sounding like Bailey being influenced by Quinton.
Q: I don't like your tone. BK: Khalil, you’re about to cross a line and we really don’t have to go there. Khalil: I’m just being real because you two are not thinking straight. I swear you must be pregnant or something because that’s the only time you come at me with the home life work life balance shit. But even you two wouldn’t be that reckless.
*crickets*
Penny: Bailey… Khalil: Are you fucking kidding me?!
BK: We- Khalil: This is bullshit. I’m out. Penny: Khalil!
#that went well...#i know rebi is at the top of the list#but the line of sims unhappy with this pregnancy#will not be short#😩🥴#I’m scared this is just the beginning#bklegacy#bklgen2#bailey kay#quinton#penny pizzazz#khalil russell
