You misunderstand the nature of compleation. Whether the subject's original "life" is maintained is not relevant, excepting cases in which its personality, life experiences, and aetheric qualities--that is to say, its spark--are strongly desired traits in its compleation. Admittedly, the retention of these aspects is the optimal outcome with nearly all compleations, but a risk of fatality is unavoidable. All Phyrexian surgeons are capable of at least base necromancy, and even empty bodies can be effectively repurposed into servitor shells or disassembled for material. My own newts are fed by many of these. -J

All I'm saying is that if IDW2 Orion had been more like the IDW1 adrenaline junkie, he would have been like "wow that was sick" when Megatron made them jump from the moon elevator. And then they wouldn't have broken up and MAYBE Orion could have convinced Megatron thay expansionism is like, bad and they stopped for a reason and nothing bad would have happened.
