Which Auraverse/Thirdverse are the best at cooking and which can and do burn water?
Auraverse
Best:
Cheddar Changa and Plum Pastry - They run a whole cooking show lol
Minted Glacier - He’s very creative with his recipes and is great at working within a budget to create legitimately good, almost-delicacy dishes
Marmalade Meringue - She’s an actual food scientist who is very skilled at creating flavors and nutrient combos right down to the chemical composition
Heavenly Glow and Sahar - HG downplays it in a sort of bitchy way but she is good at it, and Sahar has taught her a lot of recipes from Saddle Arabia
Worst:
Polished Antique - The worst cook of all my OCs ever, he can’t make anything even remotely edible even if he tried. Every single meal of his has been cooked by someone else and he never learned to do it himself
Thirdverse
Best:
Strawberry Breeze - She loves watching cooking competitions for the radical drama of it all, and has learned a thing or two from them
Worst:
Fireside Jam - He is too lazy and easily distracted to stick to most recipes from start to finish, but he can make really good chocolate pops that his family makes sure to hype him up for. He’d be good at other recipes too if he applied himself and didn’t constantly forget to turn the stove off
Earth Day and Princess Cut - Both are spoiled af and neither can cook, and are even worse at it when they try to do it together. Their private chefs are deeply beloved lol

Day 4 - El Calafate
We wake up early and head to the airport as we are off to El Calafate (in Patagonia).
The flight goes smoothly and we go and pickup our rental car. The guy at Europcar is really friendly and gives us lots of tips on safe driving in the area.
It’s really windy here but at least it’s dry (it was raining in BA for the last two days)! The guy at Europcar advises us that this “is just a breeze for them”.
We head over to our hostel for the next two nights and check in but the room isn’t ready so drive into town (2 blocks away) and grab some empeñadas and a scroll from the bakery. Jack fumbles some words in Spanish to order and after a while the guy replies in perfect English…Jack tells him “you just wanted to watch us suffer” 😂 it already appears that more people speak English here compared to BA. We the get the car filled with petrol - it’s not self service here - but again the worker speaks English which is making things much easier for us.
Jack drives us the 75kms to the Perito Moreno glacier and park up. Along the way we lose the sun and it starts raining but we figure it might just be a micro climate of the glacier. The landscape is interesting - it’s like scrubland nearer town with dessert like plants everywhere but nearer to the glacier it becomes full of trees and autumn colours.
After a little confusion and wandering around trying to figure out where to go (some signs would be really helpful) we realise we need to go back to the car and get more clothes - hat, gloves etc. Luckily after this we spot the shuttle bus that takes us to the lookouts.
The glacier is just out of this world. It’s hard to describe or capture in a photo how close you are and how impressive it looks. Jack is immediately like a kid in a candy shop running around frantically to see but I manage to bring some order and get him to follow one of the different boardwalks so that we can keep track of where we have been.
Every now and again you hear a sound like thunder because of pieces of ice falling off of the glacier. In some cases they are so loud it makes the ground shake like a small earthquake. Of course we are desperate to see them fall but it’s difficult because by the time you’ve head the sound it’s too late, but we do see some small pieces fall.
The information board tell us that the glacier has been in a period of growth until 2020 when it started shrinking 😔
We’ve completed a few of the walks but I’m getting conscious that the park closes at 6pm and don’t want to get locked in for the night! Of course as soon as we start leaving there are some huge pieces of ice that fall, the ground shake and the crowd ohh and ahh. We continue on and it happens three more times so we head back down but it’s too late haha.
We try to get the shuttle back down to the car park but after some time we confirm with the cafe that the shuttle isn’t coming so we have to walk back down the road to get to the car. On the drive home I feel myself nodding off in the car (sorry JB!) - we are both completely exhausted. On the way back we stop in the supermercado and grab some things for dinner - a pre-made hamburger, pizza and lemon meringue pie.
At the hostel we get the keys to our room. It’s got heated floors so it’s really toasty (it’s not as luxe as it sounds). We heat the food up in the hostel kitchen and watch a tv show before getting a few things ready for tomorrow. We were told earlier that the hostel is having a power outage from 6am - 12pm tomorrow, but it’s time for bed we cannot function any longer.

things i love about new super mario bros u deluxe
★ the names of the places. acorn plains, layer-cake desert, sparkling waters, frosted glacier, soda jungle, rock-candy mines, meringue clouds, peach's castle
★ the pretty galaxy backdrop of superstar road
★ the super subtle secret exit hints (that one structure that has sand at the bottom and looks a HELLA lot like cake but the rest is snow and ice, that slide, the admittedly unsubtle red floaty guys indicating another door to the castle in rock candy mines, etc.)
★ for that matter, the fridge brilliance in the secret exit in layer-cake desert leading to frosted glacier. of course the cake would lead to the frosting!
★ the colourful crystals in the 2nd level
★ the pretty pink stars when i do that jump and float thing as peachette
★ the luminous baby yoshis
★ the super pretty spinny stars in that one level in frosted glacier
gonna add more later

Il me troublait. Beaucoup. Trop.
Trop intense, trop lourd, trop beau
Me marier ? Annuler ?
Noah n'a rien dit.

Geneva/France Day 4
I managed to combine a good half of my Geneva-centric itinerary into one day so I had time to spare. I decided to take advantage of the tour company I experienced Glacier 3000 with and take a day trip to Annecy, France. I picked up a chocolate croissant from the bakery around the corner of my hostel and headed back toward the Gare Routiere bus station. There were some delays and confusion while our bus of people waited in the tourism office waiting for our bus driver to arrive. During that time I met an older gentleman from China who was vacationing in Geneva by himself. He needed some help with translating so I became his unofficial buddy/translator for the remainder of the trip.
Annecy was only a short ride away, just under an hour. I still can’t believe how easy it is to hope from country to country here. When we got off the bus we were greeted with frigid morning air and a bright blue sky reflecting off the dazzling waters of Lake Annecy.
Lake Annecy really is gorgeous no matter the time of year.
Our tour guide had a short walkthrough planned for us just to get us aquainted with the area. We started at Le Palais de I’lle, a small medieval castle and prison located right on the canal.
They have a museum and you can explore the building but our tour guide recommended walking around the city instead.
From there we hiked up the hill toward the Château d'Annecy, a restored medieval castle.
I opted to skip out on touring the castle since our time was limited. At this point the Chinese gentleman decided to tag along with me. We headed north/down the hill toward the houses to catch a view of the city.
We then headed west until we met the crowds at the Annecy Vieux Quartier Flea Market. We were so fortunate to be visiting during this popular monthly event. Every street corner in the area was filled with vendors selling various antiques and trinkets. We eventually ended up in front of a small bakery called Le Boulanger Du Faubourg where I picked up some goodies.
A Gruyere and hazelnut baguette. So bouncy but soft with the fatty nuttiness from the hazelnuts complementing the salty cheese so well. French bakeries are always something else.
From there my new friend and I just wandered north aimlessly until we felt the lively city vibe dissipating. We didn’t have a great idea of where to find out bus so we headed back East toward the lake.
No clue where we were anymore but the streets were getting emptier and emptier so we sensed we should head back toward the crowds.
Eventually our wandering took us to Pont de Amours, a breathtaking footbridge with some of the most amazing views I’ve ever seen.
A distanced view of the Pont de Amours.
The bridge connected us into the Jardins de l’Europe and here my friend and I decided to split ways and I headed off into the Annecy Christmas Market since I didn’t get my fill the day before. The market is a bit smaller than the one Montreux but there was still plenty to discover.
Pommes Aligot and a cup of mulled wine. It truly feels like Christmas.
I wish I had more time to spend in the market but the bus was leaving soon so I scurried back to the lot and barely caught them as they headed out. Once we arrived back in Geneva I still had the rest of the night to finish the last few stops I wanted to visit. I started by heading toward Plainpalais which featured this intricate Frankenstein monster’s statue since the area was the setting of a portion of the the Frankenstein novel.
The area is also known for hosting one of Switzerland’s largest flea market.
I managed to the catch the tail end of the Saturday market but many of the booths were already packing up for the day.
From Planpalais I headed south along the water until I crossed the Bridge le Pont de Carouge. This led me into the Carouge/Little Italy area of the city. Although it was a Saturday this area was surprisingly quiet. The main area I planned to explore was around the Rue Saint-Joseph where there are several novelty shops. While I was there I was craving a little snack but so many things were closed down so I stopped by for a snack at a Wasabi Sushi chain.
Geneva isn’t exactly a place for sushi but I was craving raw fish so badly.
And of course I still needed dessert and the famous Philippe Pascoët-Chocolate Pascoët Sàrl was just around the corner so I stopped in for a some treats.
Chocolate Moelleux & Passionfruit Dark Chocolate
I spent the next couple hours just wandering the neighborhood as the sun began to set. I made my way down toward the Place Du Marche where there were trees filled with floral colored lights. It was beautiful but strangely eerie considering how quiet the area was.
Streets lined with lights and decorations but it was just so quiet.
I intended to head back to my hostel but took the wrong train and ended up towards the Les Grottes neighborhood. I decided to just walk back to my hostel. On the walk back I remembered the lack of proper restaurants in my area and I wanted a slightly more proper dinner for my final meal. I passed by a French restaurant called La Bagatelle and decided to give it a shot.
Venison w/ Crispy Foie Gras, Spaetzle, Pumpkin Mash, Chestnut Puree, and Wine Cooked Pear. Not exactly a classic Swiss dinner but a very hearty and festive feeling meal.
After dinner I settled back in my hostel and packed up for my flight home the next day. But of course there was one last thing I had to try before bedtime...
The absolutely gigantic face-sized chocolate meringue I purchased from the Annecy Bakery earlier in the day.

📍Var 🇫🇷. » conclut M. Marrani.
📍Var 🇫🇷. "The African chocolate and meringue ice cream", "The Chinese lemon sorbet", an ice cream parlor in Saint-Raphaël is withdrawing cuts deemed racist. Since last weekend, Le Poussin Bleu has been at the heart of a controversy over two ice cream cups deemed racist, which have aroused the indignation of internet users on social networks. The managers finally removed the two products in question from their card. However, for 70 years, their ice creams have been enjoyed without moderation. The cups are named Clown Tulip or Volcano etc ...

Solo Travel Destination Chile | Solo Trekker 4 U
Solo Travel Destination Chile: While having only a small percentage of the world’s population, Chile has produced global figures in the arts, including two Nobel Prize winning poets: Gabriela Mistral and Pablo Neruda.
Chile: Getting There!
Just getting to Chile was part of the adventure. When I arrived at the airport in Washington, there was a flight delay because of bad weather. After about 4 hours in the gate, we were allowed to board. Then it was announced the winds had shifted and the plane could not take off. I returned home for the night and started out again the next day. High over the Andes once again bad weather intervened requiring that we land in Argentina. At last, we arrived in Santiago!
Chile demonstrates the rich differences within the South American continent. Although much of the region shares a common language and a 16th century colonial history, after O’Higgins and San Martin led Chile to independence in the 19th century, it has created its own modern history.
Solo Travel Destination Chile: Two features immediately struck me: First was the strong and pervasive European influence. Rather than tapas, afternoon tea was widely featured along with ads for a French Impressionist art exhibit. There was no meringue, salsa or tango. In fact, the first dance performance was at a top restaurant with Pacific Islanders performing at dinner. I soon discovered that even newly arrived, jet-lagged diners had the “opportunity” to be led off to the stage for an introduction to Island dances. (One advantage if you travel solo, there is no one to send photos back home of your first awkward steps.)
Secondly, the geographic range of climate zones and topography was immediately apparent. Chile, 2,672 miles long, felt like many countries comprised within one national border. The north was very arid as it reached into the Atacama Desert while going southward to Puerto Montt was reminiscent of a Swiss Village. From the ski slopes moving on to Antarctica Chile, the landscape was suddenly filled with glaciers and snow-covered roads.
Chile: 4 Countries in One for Top Solo Travel Vacations!
My view of Chile had 4 distant parts. The first was Santiago, Chile’s capital. With over 1 million inhabitants, it offers an array of choices.
Although many colonial buildings have been demolished, key remaining gems include the Basilica in La Merced. Moving on towards the Plaza de Armas, you will find the 18th century Casa Colorada. The past blends in with the present when you visit the Benedictine Chapel whose architect, Gabriel Guarda, created Barcelona’s most famous landmarks.
Another top sight is the Palacio de La Moneda or President’s Palace. It was first constructed in the 18th century but most recently largely reconstructed in the 1980’s. While you are there, you can check out the colorful Changing of the Guard accompanied by a brass band.
For a more detailed view of Chile’s diverse culture, Santiago has multiple museum options, including the popular National History and Pre-Columbian museums. You can also visit the home Neruda built for Matilde Urrutia, his third wife who inspired his greatest works. It is known, as she was as, by the name La Chascona and is located in the Bellavista district.
After a day steeped in history and culture, you will want to save time to take the gondola for a view of the city from Cerro San Cristobal.
My second distinct view of Chile came from a side trip to ski nearby at the local slope Colorado. Just an hour away, it lacked the steeper inclines of the more famous slopes of Portillo or Argentina’s Las Lineas and Bariloche. However, what it lacked in challenging my Intermediate ski prowess, it more than made up for in easy access as an unexpected add-on.
My third destination was Puerto Montt located in southern Chile’s Lake District. Founded in the 19th century by German settlers, the flavor was that of a European village albeit with the addition of the Pacific Ocean. Strolling past waterfalls, you could see llamas munching along the roadside and then visit the stunning Osorno Volcano. The outdoor options in the region are varied, from hiking through the national parks to boating and horseback riding.
My fourth and final view of Chile was in its most famous destination other than the capital, Santiago: the far south in Punta Arenas, Antarctica, Chile. Traveling by bus, I was pleasantly surprised at the first class service with videos and soft drinks’ being served.
On arrival, I hired a taxi for a day’s sightseeing moving at a rapid pace over sometime harrowing snow-covered roads. Working cowboys, i.e., vaqueros or gauchos, sped by on horseback alongside us. Their weathered faces reflected life in the harsh climate.
Although a small museum in Puntas Arenas told more of the history of this remote region, the real draw for tourists is outdoors even during the wintertime. I spent a full day exploring the key attraction, the Parque Nacional Torres del Paine with snow-capped mountains, waterfalls and a large clear blue lake. At the lower elevations, it was not too cold for hiking or just long walks through the Park.
To the south is Cape Horn and the Drake Passage, the latter the gateway to Antarctica, itself. Chile is well-positioned geographically to take that next step, to head westward for the remote Pacific/Easter Island or to combine with a business or leisure trip elsewhere in Latin America.
Solo Travel Destination Chile: Chile was an ideal solo destination because of:
1. Its diversity of cultures and attractions
2. The range of terrain from desert to ski slopes to glaciers
3. Its vibrant role in Latin America’s dynamic growth
4. The numerous sporting and adventure options from skiing the Andes to hiking through the Lake District of Puerto Montt to boating in Punta Arenas and down to Cape Horn.
5. Its safety and availability of 4-5 star service and tours
6. The access to the Pacific and Easter Island or on to other parts of South America and Antarctica.
If you don’t want to see the summer end, book now for December in Chile and go boating and swimming instead of shoveling snow!
