GIS for Land Management: Revolutionizing Land Use Planning
Land management is a critical process that involves the use, development, and preservation of land resources in a sustainable manner. As urbanization continues to rise and natural resources face mounting pressure, the need for innovative tools to manage land efficiently has become increasingly important. Geographic Information Systems (GIS) have emerged as a revolutionary technology in this domain, transforming the way land use planning and management are conducted.
This article explores how GIS is revolutionizing land management, its benefits, applications, and its potential to address future challenges in land use planning.
What is GIS, and Why is it Important for Land Management?
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are computer-based tools that collect, store, analyze, and visualize spatial data. By integrating data from various sources, GIS enables users to gain valuable insights into geographical patterns and relationships. GIS is particularly important for land management because it provides a comprehensive and dynamic understanding of spatial data, empowering decision-makers to optimize land use and resource allocation.
In land management, GIS serves as a powerful tool for:
Mapping and visualizing land resources.
Identifying land use patterns and changes.
Facilitating data-driven decision-making.
Predicting future land use scenarios.
Benefits of GIS in Land Management
1. Enhanced Decision-Making
GIS enables data-driven decision-making by providing accurate and up-to-date information about land resources. By analyzing spatial data, planners can make informed choices about land allocation, zoning, and development priorities.
2. Improved Efficiency
GIS automates various tasks, such as mapping and data analysis, which significantly reduces time and effort. This efficiency allows land managers to focus on strategy and planning rather than manual data processing.
3. Sustainable Land Use
One of the primary objectives of land management is to ensure sustainable use of resources. GIS facilitates the identification of environmentally sensitive areas, helps in assessing the impact of development projects, and supports conservation efforts.
4. Real-Time Monitoring
GIS allows real-time monitoring of land use changes, making it easier to track unauthorized activities, natural disasters, and other dynamic phenomena. This capability is crucial for maintaining compliance with land use regulations.
5. Cost Savings
By optimizing land use and minimizing resource wastage, GIS helps reduce costs associated with land development, environmental degradation, and disaster recovery.
Key Applications of GIS in Land Management
1. Urban Planning
GIS is extensively used in urban planning to design city layouts, manage infrastructure development, and optimize land use. By analyzing population density, transportation networks, and land availability, GIS helps planners create sustainable and efficient urban environments.
2. Agriculture and Forestry
In agriculture, GIS aids in precision farming by analyzing soil properties, crop patterns, and climate conditions. In forestry, GIS supports activities such as forest mapping, biodiversity conservation, and fire risk assessment.
3. Environmental Conservation
GIS plays a vital role in environmental conservation by identifying areas at risk of deforestation, erosion, or habitat loss. It also aids in monitoring protected areas and implementing conservation strategies.
4. Disaster Management
GIS is an indispensable tool for disaster management, helping to identify high-risk areas, plan evacuation routes, and assess post-disaster damage. This application is critical for mitigating the impact of natural disasters on land resources.
5. Land Administration
GIS streamlines land administration processes, including property registration, boundary mapping, and land valuation. This improves transparency, reduces disputes, and enhances governance.
6. Infrastructure Development
For infrastructure projects, GIS provides valuable insights into topography, soil stability, and environmental impact. This ensures that projects are planned and executed efficiently while minimizing their ecological footprint.
Case Studies: GIS Transforming Land Management
1. Urban Redevelopment in Singapore
Singapore, known for its limited land resources, uses GIS extensively for urban redevelopment. By integrating spatial data, the government identifies underutilized areas, plans high-density housing projects, and ensures efficient land use.
2. Forest Management in the Amazon
GIS has been instrumental in monitoring deforestation in the Amazon rainforest. By analyzing satellite imagery, conservationists track illegal logging activities and implement measures to protect biodiversity.
3. Disaster Preparedness in Japan
Japan leverages GIS for disaster preparedness, particularly for earthquakes and tsunamis. GIS helps map high-risk zones, plan evacuation routes, and allocate resources effectively.
4. Agricultural Development in Africa
In Africa, GIS is used to promote sustainable agricultural practices. By analyzing soil quality, rainfall patterns, and crop yields, GIS enables farmers to optimize their land use and increase productivity.
Challenges and Future Opportunities
While GIS offers numerous benefits, its adoption in land management is not without challenges. Key obstacles include:
High Initial Costs: Implementing GIS technology requires significant investment in software, hardware, and training.
Data Availability and Accuracy: Reliable spatial data is essential for effective GIS applications, but data quality and accessibility can vary.
Technical Expertise: The complexity of GIS tools necessitates specialized training, which may not be readily available in all regions.
Despite these challenges, the future of GIS in land management looks promising. Advancements in technology, such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), and remote sensing, are enhancing GIS capabilities. Additionally, the integration of GIS with emerging technologies like drones and the Internet of Things (IoT) is opening new possibilities for real-time data collection and analysis.
Conclusion
GIS for land management is revolutionizing the way we approach land use planning and resource allocation. By providing a powerful platform for data analysis, visualization, and decision-making, GIS empowers planners and policymakers to address the complex challenges of sustainable development. From urban planning to environmental conservation, the applications of GIS are vast and transformative.
As technology continues to evolve, the potential of GIS in land management will only grow, paving the way for smarter, more sustainable use of our planet's resources. Embracing GIS is not just an option but a necessity for ensuring the efficient and responsible management of land in the 21st century.

—Sleep well.
Pairing: Kang Dae-ho x fem!reader
Summary: Gi-hun suggested that the group took turns staying on watch in case the other players attacked, him and Jung-bae stayed up while you and the others napped, Dae-ho took his place beside you to rest with you.
Content: fluff, cuddling(?), you head-butting him in your sleep lol, English isn’t my first language, mistakes should be present, not really proofread, sorry!
Word count: 808
You were tucked into the corner with your group—Gi-hun, Jung-bae, Young-il, Dae-ho, and Jun-hee. Trust was a rare thing in the games, but the six of you managed to stick together, watching each other’s backs through the brutal rounds.
The weight of exhaustion clung to you, but Gi-hun’s paranoia kept your eyes open longer than you would have liked. He wasn’t wrong, though. The fear was palpable.
Your group pulled a couple of mattresses off of the bunks, arranging them as best as possible. One was dragged and laid flat against the wall, the others shoved under bunk frames for some semblance of protection.
“Is this really necessary? I don’t like sleeping under there.” Jung-bae asked, sliding a mattress to Gi-hun, who shoved it under a bunk frame.
“Once the lights go out, somebody might attack us.” Gi-hun said, his eyes focused and his voice steady. “The prize money still goes up if we kill each other. It’s a part of the game they designed.”
You exchanged a look with Dae-ho, who sat cross-legged beside you, holding onto some blankets and pillows. He had been your shadow ever since Red light, Green light. Always sticking close, insisting on protecting you in this place after seeing the way you froze during the first game—when he told you to stay behind him closely so you could use him as a human shield.
“We need to take turns keeping watch after the lights go out.” Gi-hun muttered, sitting down at the foot of the bunk beds, his sharp eyes scanning the room. “I’ll take the first watch.”
The lights flickered out not long after, leaving the only source being the giant piggy-bank hung on the ceiling that was glowing dimly.
It was after a while when Jung-bae rolled out lazily from under a bunk and plopped down beside Gi-hun, the two of them speaking in hushed voices.
You laid down on one of the mattresses, wrapping the thin blanket around yourself. Dae-ho settled beside you not long after, and though you weren’t expecting it, his hand brushed against yours as he shifted to get comfortable, and you were sure you saw his face flush before he hid it, which barely worked, to be honest.
“Don’t worry,” he mumbled, his voice low and soothing. “I’ll keep you safe. I’ll fight them off if they try to come over here.”
The sincerity in his words made your heart ache in the best way. Dae-ho had a knack for looking out for you since you met him in the games, even in the little ways—giving you his portion of food, stepping in when someone got too close. You hadn’t known him long, but there was this easy warmth between the two of you.
Within minutes, you were sound asleep.
Dae-ho’s soft snores filled the small space you both shared. Exhaustion had gotten the better of him, just like it did to you. His arm had draped protectively over your side in his sleep, his presence a cocoon of safety.
Gi-hun and Jung-bae sat near the bunks, their attention now drawn to the sound of soft snoring. Both sets of eyes landed on you and Dae-ho, curled up together on the mattress.
“They’re out like a light,” Jung-bae remarked, a hint of amusement in his voice. “You know, seeing them like that... it reminds me of when we went on strike. We were occupying the factory, and management told us to come out. They said anyone who came out voluntarily would be let off the hook and receive more severance pay.”
Gi-hun stared into the distance, as if recalling what happened.
“You were sleeping beside me and you were talking in your sleep. ‘Mom, I’m hungry, give me some food.’” Jung-bae made an exaggerated crying face, and Gi-hun gave him a glare as Jung-bae nudged him with his elbow, smirking.
Their voices echoed, and soon enough, soft laughs filled the quietness.
Jung-bae chuckled again, louder this time. He clapped a hand over his mouth, but it was too late. The noise had reached you, and you stirred slightly. Dae-ho, still asleep, curled closer to you instinctively, his arm tightening around your side. His movement caused your head to shift slightly, and without warning, you head-butted him in your half-asleep state of grogginess.
Dae-ho furrowed his brows, a soft noise escaping his lips as he shifted again, burying his face into the crook of his arm. You tugged the blanket over your shoulders, muttering something incoherent before nestling deeper into the mattress, falling right back asleep.
Jung-bae stifled another laugh, his shoulders shaking with the effort. Gi-hun gave him a glare, but a faint smile was already tugging at the corners of his mouth too.
“They’re like kids,” Jung-bae whispered, his tone fond.
“Let them sleep. They’ll need it.” Gi-hun shook his head and sighed softly.

CAVE CANEM #oneshot #squidgame #thefrontman
Cave canem. Beware of dogs. In the ruthless games, there are countless hounds looking for prey. Oh Young-Il promises to be your shield, your shepherd, your guardian angel— but you soon find out that it’s often the unassuming ones who are the most dangerous.
feat. the frontman / hwang in-ho / oh young-il ⎯⎯ wc. 2.5k
cw: female reader, yandere, unhealthy relationships, possessive & obsessive thoughts/behaviors, manipulation, squid game spoilers, i’ll use all of his names & nicknames here so don’t get confused, i do not condone yanderes irl, no beta we die like all 455 players in season 1
I.
It’s funny how tragedy brings people together.
It has only been twenty two hours since you entered the twisted battle royale with 45.6 billion won dangled on top of you, but you’ve found companionship in fellow participants: Player 456 Seong Gi-hun, Player 388 Kang Dae-ho, Player 390 Park Jung-bae, and Player 001.
Oh, Player 001.
“How are your wounds?”
You look up to see Player 001 — or, as he introduced himself to you, Oh Young-il. His eyes gleam in worry as he takes in your appearance: hair disheveled, knee bruised, sleeves rolled up to reveal the scratches littering your hands.
You’re just glad you didn’t get killed during the Red Light, Green Light stampede.
“This is nothing,” you assured him with a genuine smile, “thank you for helping me.”
Young-il pauses. Then, as if remembering something, he reaches into his pockets and hands you a small carton of milk. “Here. You must be dehydrated.” He watches as you gratefully take it, instantly drinking the contents, “Don’t worry about the next game. We’ll get through it together.”
Tears are brimming in your eyes at the kind man’s encouragement. You let him take your hand and nod at him, smiling. “Thank you, Young-il-ssi.”
Young-il gives you one last smile before climbing back down to rejoin the rest of the group. His movements alerts Jung-bae, who mindlessly throws a glance his way.
Jung-bae instantly pauses. He knew from the start that Player 001 is not a simple man, but the expression on Young-il’s face is nothing short of terrifying, like a tiger eyeing its’ prey. He follows Young-il’s line of sight and finds you, curled on one of the beds.
A chill runs down his spine.
II.
You don’t know how you got through the Six-Legged Pentathlon, but you did.
Chosen as the one to play ddakji — it’s not like you sucked at it, but you were scared you would be a burden to your teammates — your hands couldn’t stop trembling.
The squares of ddakji felt like rocks in your hand, your shoulders heavy by the fear of dragging everyone down. Their encouragement and cheers merely heightened your anxiety.
That was, until a hand gently clasps your own. “Don’t think too much about it. You said you won more times than the ddakji guy, didn’t you?” Young-il’s eyes twinkle, his shoulders lax, as if he’s not currently playing for his life, “Well, you won’t receive slaps if you fail, so go wild.” It’s amazing how he manages to silence all your fears.
You flipped the ddakji on your first try.
III.
In-ho knew it from the start, but the reality of it still disgusts him. Humans are selfish creatures, blinded by greed, driven by instincts.
He sighs, looking at the results of the vote— 139 for ‘O’ and 116 for ‘X’. One hundred and thirty nine people marching to their own deaths like brainless maggots.
He sneaks a glance your way and sees that you’re shuddering. His heart drops to the pits of his stomach. Slipping away from Gi-hun, he makes his way to you. He keeps on surprising himself: joining Player 456 in the games, cheering with the others during the pentathlon, and now comforting you?
But In-ho is not one to ruminate over his actions too much. He knows what he wants, he gets what he wants, and right now all he wants is to hold you in his arms.
“Young-il,” your eyes instantly land on his and he wonders how it will feel to hear you call him by his real name, “I’m scared. I’m so scared, I don’t want to die!”
He’s beside you the next second, catching you before you can fall to the ground, strong arms wrapped securely on your waist. In-ho falters for a fraction of a second, but his hand quickly shoots up to caress your hair.
Receiving the kindest act for the first time in many years, you can’t help but to cry in his warm embrace, letting out all your frustration and fear. His touches are so tender, so serene, and being enveloped in his tall figure makes you feel protected.
In-ho calms your sobs with gentle shushes, rubbing circles on your back. He was unsure then, but his heart is determined now— he wants you, he’s got to have you, and there’s nothing under the seven heavens that will stop him.
He shudders at the thought of having you all to himself. In-ho can barely control himself right now, when you fit so good in his arms, your skin brushing against his. What would it feel like? To have you next to him every second of every day? He’d shower you with all of him— all his riches, all his affection, all his time.
First, the two of you will have to exit the game safely.
His grip on you tightens as he lifts his gaze from your trembling figure to the several pink guards stationed near the door. In the distance, they straighten their posture in alarm.
Even among the many faces of the players, they can locate their boss in a heartbeat — the Front Man is still the Front Man, even if he’s amusing himself by playing dress up. The way he carries himself is so telling, they have no idea how the players are none the wiser to the wolf hiding amongst the sheep.
... And right now, their superior’s glare speaks volumes about what he’s conveying.
A warning.
IV.
‘One more game,’ they said, ‘it’ll be fun,’ they said.
The rotating stage under your feet is spinning at a controlled pace, yet you feel like you’re going to throw up. The light feels blinding, the gasps from the participants making your head spin even more.
Amidst all the chaos, Young-il’s hand clasping yours serves as an anchor.
“You okay?” His voice is as gentle as ever, unworried.
Even Gi-hun, the former winner of the games, is not exempt to the anxiety and apprehension that shadows the rest of them, but Young-il has never showed any signs of stress— like he has a safety net... or like he’s very sure of his own abilities.
You nod, grateful that he’s allowed you to stick by him like glue all this time. He squeezes your hand in encouragement, smiling.
“Two.” The woman’s voice announces cheerily. In an instant, the crowd erupts in disarray.
Young-il looks around. “Stick close to me,” he murmurs before pulling you with him towards one of the rooms. Not wanting to be a burden to him, you quickly fall in line, matching his steps. His back is very comforting as he cleverly navigates the chaotic hall, avoiding the other players.
Just when the two of you reached the door, a player appears, crashing into the two of you and sending you tumbling away from Young-il. Your world spins as you struggle to pick yourself up, searching for him.
Thankfully, you locate him almost immediately. A few steps away from the door, Young-il is strangling your attacker. “Get in! I’ll be right behind you!”
Fueled by adrenaline, you nod frantically, moving to enter the room. But there’s already another person inside.
True to his word, Young-il quickly scrambles to the room, slamming the door behind him. He immediately takes note of the anomaly, his expression dark.
“I-I was here first!” The stranger sputtered, shuffling away from Young-il.
There are loud bangs coming from the other side of the door and you quickly hold onto the lock, tears now falling from your eyes. “Sorry!” You yell, ”Sorry!”
“Five. Four. Three.” The countdown continues mercilessly.
You look back, “The other guy—!” but your words are caught in your throat.
Young-il has the man in a chokehold. For a moment you had no idea why he’s handling the guy so aggressively when it’s obvious that he’s more scared of the two of you than the two of you are of him.
“Two.”
“Young-il!”
“One.”
CRACK!
You scream. The man slips from Young-il’s hold, limp.
Lifeless.
Young-il’s gaze meets yours. There’s an emotion you can’t quite place on them, but it’s quickly replaced by that of horror. “I-I had to do it.” Tears start to brim on the corner of his eyes, his hands visibly shaking, “I had to-” he desperately crawls away from the dead man as he covers his face in terror, “I’m a monster, I-”
Crying, you kneel next to him, pulling him into an embrace, “No, you’re not,” assuring him in between sobs, “it’s this game, it’s the game’s doing, it’s not your fault!”
Breath haggard, In-ho rubs your head comfortingly. You didn’t even realize that he has long since stopped crying. He covers your ears, knowing by now that the sound of gunshots horrifies you, and glances at the body of the man he just killed.
You watched him kill one guy and you get this rattled? He sighs quietly.
For you, he would kill a thousand more.
V, PART ONE.
“Hey girl,” a voice booms from behind you, catching you by surprise.
You let go of your hand that’s holding Young-il’s, turning your head to address the stranger.
“Saw you from afar and I can’t believe I didn’t talk to you sooner.” The purple haired man wastes no time getting into your space, running a hand through his hair. “D’ya know who I am? Because I wanna know who you are.”
You stiffen up. Of course you know him. Who didn’t? The number one ambassador of the ‘O’ team, aka the people who wish to continue the games, the outspoken menace, Thanos.
Thanos catches sight of something behind you and wavers before looking back at you. “A-anyway. I’ll see you around. Team’s always open, baby!” He exclaims, but it’s obvious that he’s trying to hide his nervousness.
You look back to see Young-il smiling at you. “Wonder what that’s about.”
The people here freaks you out. You sigh. “I know, right?”
In-ho hums, his finger treading along the sharp edges of the fork.
V, PART TWO.
The bathroom is a mess— team ‘O’ and team ‘X’, warring against each other, fueled by the actions of a junkie who’s high out of his mind.
In the middle of it all, Hwang In-ho calmly makes his way to a purple haired man who is slumped on the ground, yelling at his friend.
“Get him, get that sucker! He tried to kill me, man!”
A dark shadow looms over Thanos, and he looks up in terror, recognizing In-ho immediately. “W-what are you-?”
In-ho eyes him coldly before swinging down.
The cold gleam of a fork is the last thing Thanos sees before it penetrates his neck.
VI.
The fire of revolution burns bright behind all of you. Your hands may tremble, but your rifle is secure in your arms. All those first person shooter games are finally coming in handy as you manage to actually shoot down several guards.
“You okay?!” Young-il questions in panic, “You’re doing a good job! It’s gonna get more dangerous afterwards, but I can’t leave you behind!”
You nod, reassuring him, following him up the stairs with two other men in tow. Right now, you are brother-in-arms, comrades, fighting for your freedom.
Young-il halts, sensing the presence of a guard, before speaking into the comm, “Gi-hun-ssi, we found it.” he holds out an arm in front of you like a shield, “Start attacking and draw their attention. Then we’ll hit them from behind.”
Your knees tremble in fear and anticipation. Somehow, with Young-il on your side, you feel like this ragtag team of freedom fighters can actually succeed.
“Okay, got it!” Gi-hun’s invigorated reply came from the other side.
Young-il pockets the comm, nodding to the two men. They nod back in response and move forward. He quickly moves in front of you, signaling you to stay behind him.
Just when you thought about how reliable he is, two sharp gunshots resonates in the air.
Is it over?
You peek from behind Young-il’s back only to be met by the horrific sight of Player 015 and Player 047 sprawled on the ground, choking on their own blood.
Young-il’s rifle is still pointed at the two of them, his eyes cold.
Who is this person? You scramble to get away from him, alarm bells ringing in your head. Did he miss his shot? Did I see wrong? Is there a guard in front of him?
“Young-il-ssi, what’s going on?” came Gi-hun’s distressed voice from the comm, “Are you shooting?”
You watch in horror as Young-il calmly reloads his rifle before squatting down and glancing your way. “Gi-hun-ssi, I’m sorry.” Like a seasoned actor, the unscathed Young-il puts on a strained voice, “It’s all over. They got us too.”
Gi-hun’s voice is blurred as you fall to your knees, finally coming into terms with the betrayal of the person you’ve come to trust the most.
Young-il momentarily looks away from you to shoot the two men one more time. Cold, unfeeling, his fingers steady like he’s done this countless times before.
This is not the Young-il you know.
When it’s all over, several pink guards march up to him, a coat and a black mask in tow. Young-il (?) lifts a hand up to stop them, turning to finally address you.
Your breath gets caught in your throat, your fingers desperately trying to locate the trigger on your rifle, but the man in front of you is much quicker. He yanks the rifle from your trembling hands, unloading the bullets and kicking the weapon away as you back away to the wall, shivering in fear.
He sighs, taking the coat from one of the guards before kneeling down to your height. “I won’t hurt you. You know that, right?”
Confused, you can only gape at him. “W-who are you..?”
“Hwang In-ho. My real name.” he offers, tenderly wiping a tear from your cheek, “Sorry, I didn’t mean to lie to you. I’ll explain everything, if you’ll just give me a chance..?”
In one swift motion, he wraps his coat around your shoulders. You look at his eyes, as tender and unchanging as ever— then it dawns on you: he has always been this way.
“Mr. Front Man, sir, everything is ready.”
You let In-ho pull you to your feet, his touch as comforting as ever as the two of you pass by countless guards. They make way for the two of you, the hierarchy crystal clear when not one of them dare to step out of line.
You’ve been such a fool. All the signs were there, the reason why Player 001 carries himself with such grace as if he’s untouchable. How the guards say things about ‘not tolerating actions that will disrupt the votes’ and yet kept quiet when it’s Player 001’s turn to speak his mind. The way they would shuffle away from him slightly whenever he walks—
In-ho turns to look at you, his eyes kind, “Do you trust me?”
Yet, you can’t bring yourself to say no.
note: i know i appeared on the dash absolutely losing it over the recruiter/the salesman/ddakji guy (he’ll get his own fic after this don’t worry) but i took one look at this man with his hair down and i fell into a SPIRAL. this is totally a passion project. front man ftw 🙆♀️

The air was thick, suffocating your nose and head, bright lights of all sorts of colours bouncing off wall to wall.
Countless bodies grinding and shoving against one another, the jam packed dance floor emitted the smell of sweat.
Downing down another shot, slamming the glass on-top the tacky table , littered with random substances.
Regret and ecstasy fought inside you, the urge to leave swept away as music flooded your ears.
Friday nights were always memorable, now, not so much. Being alone in any social place didn’t look good for you.
Being dumped by the man you loved left you hopeless, along with the many bills piling up. You don’t know how long you could hold on in this situation.
Exhaling, politely asking for another drink, your eyes wandering the floor filled with moving bodies.
Landing onto two men, dancing like nobody else was watching, but you were. The two figures endlessly reminding you of your past.
———
Gasping for breath, your body ached from the movement you held, swaying side to side, the music no longer blasting into your head as you lean into the man close to you.
He smelled of cigar and a cheap lousy cologne, his shirt a plain white , topped with jeans.
Face scattered with bruises alike, if anything it made him look sexier to you.
Letting out a laugh, grabbing his collar, successfully pulling him towards you. Your breath reeked of fruity alcohol, but he did nothing to back away.
“What’s your name, handsome?” The other was equally as drunk as you, giving him the boost of confidence he lacked.
Pulling his face closer to you, lips pushed against your ear, his voice held a gentle tone.
“You’ll find out tonight, once it’s the only thing you can scream..”
A smile crept onto your face, tumbling as you grabbed the others tattered hands.
Managing yourself into the crowd, gripping into the flesh you held. Guiding you both into the empty bathroom.
It wasn’t the cleanest place, but fuck it , you were bothered by this man and needed him.
That night ended up with you and the man , Gi-hun , stumbling back to your house since it was closer. Talking about whatever dumb stuff popped into your mind.
The both of you laughing down the street, strangers eyeing you two.
———
Lowering your pounding head into the cold surface, hoping it’ll soothe your headache.
Decisions swirling your mind, the thought of calling your ex kept popping up. He must miss you..but was too afraid to be the first to call.
In your drunken opinion that was the best you can muster up.
Sipping your drink , reaching into the pockets of your jeans, flipping through the contacts stored into the phone.
Thumb hovering over the call button, nervously biting down your bottom lip.
Fuck it all, bringing the phone to your ear, listening to the ongoing ring tone.
20 seconds passed before you got answered, flinching slightly, not really expecting a response.
Yearned flowed inside you, pressing you on to call out his name.
“Gi-hun?..” all you got was silence, you would have thought he hung up ,if it wasn’t for the occasional breath or the static of a tv played in the back.
A sigh was heard before he spoke quietly, “What do you want.” The tone was harsh, not the first time you had it towards you, it still left your heart pounding.
The alcohol gave you a boost, muttering into the warm surface of the glowing screen. “I want you.”
No response, you expected that. Letting out a small please at the end, nervously bouncing your leg up and down.
“You’re drunk ..” The accusation hung in the silence.
giving no time to listen to your own advice that lingered in you, mouth opening before a rationally thought could happen.
“Meet me beside ‘———‘ ..” hanging up before cursing yourself for being foolish. Why would he ever show up.
Still, hope made you stand up, navigating yourself through the sweaty crowd of lusty people, some hands trying to grip you.
Pushing a random girl off of you, finding yourself outside.The club’s neon sign flickering due to the lack of electricity.
The fresh air grounded you, breathing it in before waddling down the street.
———
Warm lights illuminated your figure, the empty park stood still. Only you were there, flopping down on the hard bench.
Playing with a loose string hanging off your shirt , the summer breeze cooling you down, only slightly sobering you up.
It took you 15 minutes getting here, only because you had a hard time walking. And because you knew where the other man lived, calculating how long it would be until the arrival. ‘18 minutes..’
Too lost into your head, replaying forgotten memories. You failed to notice a figure clad in the same white shirt from 3 months ago.
Sitting down next to you, the other man stiff as a board. His voice called out to you.
Yanking your head , nearly snapping it , surprise and disbelief emitting you. “ Y-you’re here..”
He was still handsome as ever, the bruises long gone but replaced with cuts across his face. A cap sat on-top his disheveled hair, his eyes held uncertainty.
“You called.” Despite the fact he knew this was a bad idea , he found himself holding onto you. The guy who ruined him, the guy who saved him at the same time.
He told himself he was just going to check to see if you were alright, after all you were drunk and alone , no telling what could happen to you.
But he found himself intrigued.
You, on the other hand, in the drunken state you were in , grabbed onto his shirt. Yanking him into a hug , the heat radiating off the both of you.
Tears streamed down your cheeks, becoming too emotional once liquor is poured down your throat.
Hiccups leaving you , sobbing into his damp skin. Pleas stuttering into the wind.
Gi-hun was a simple man, sure, he can be harsh at times.But he wasn’t a monster, far from that.
Therefore, he couldn’t help but to comfort you, his hands shakily soothing your locks. “You’re a mess.”
Your chest shook with laughter, the tears staining your face. The other man’s natural musk melted you, the smell of fresh body wash lingering into his skin.
Clouding your senses, daring just a little lick onto the tan skin, feeling the other flinch beneath you.
Nipping slightly into him, he made no movement to stop you. Urging you to take a little bite.
Suddenly he shoved you off. “H-hey.” Your face resembled a kicked puppy, “I was only trying to..- comfort you.” It aches his heart to see you so gloomy.
Looking up at the sky , groaning like a spoiled kid. Basically begging the man to let you in.
Throwing yourself at him, gripping for dear life. Whispering into him.
“You made me like this..” shaking your head as you fed him lies. The words leaving him speechless, each sentence making him question himself.
Resuming the little nips you left, each time adding more pressure. Your own hands holding onto his waist.
Massaging the shirt along with his skin, biting down his neck , licking it over as an apology.
The other wouldn’t lie if he said he missed you. Missed the way your hands would roam his body after work, your mouth leaving marks along his neck while he fucked into you.
He has a girlfriend.But even she couldn’t satisfy him, not the way you do.
Flashes of his time spent with the girl occupied his mind, guilt eating him up. While you laid desperate kisses along his jaw.
“I-..i have a girlfriend.” That made you pause, before you moved away, nose to nose. “ I know.” That wasn’t a lie, you kept tabs on the other.
With nothing to say , he let you continue to mount on him. Fingers trailing his jaw to his cheek, hand resting there. “Push me away if you want..” muttering, “- I’ll stop once you say the words.”
Neither of you wanted to end this situation. Seconds passed as you both stared into each other’s eyes.
“Let’s go home..” he was even surprised with himself, the neediest lingered across his eyes, betraying the act of pushing you away.
———
It wasn’t even a second before you shoved him against the wall, the pictures shaking behind his body. Mouth shoving itself into his , licking the bottom lip , asking for permission to enter.
The other opened up , yourself greedily exploring everything you can taste.
His hands gripping your waist, the shirt clinging to your skin. Your own hands sliding downwards, immediately groping him. The hard on visible.
Whimpers could be heard over the sound of fabric rubbing against each other. Hands slipping inside the jeans, playing with the pre-cum. “Mgh..-“
Chuckling, “ Bet your girl couldn’t even get this far.” Teasing the man’s tip, swirling your thumb, lapping up the cream.
Not just anyone’s hand could make him come undone, only you.
The position you guys were in wasn’t the best. So, you guided the both of you to the couch , blanket messily laid across.
Pushing the man down, sitting yourself on-top, directly on the bulge. Groaning from the pressure, the jeans you adorned made the pressure harder than it should be.
Cooing, you lifted yourself up, unbuttoning his jeans, yanking it down to his ankles. His length bounced up, the cool air hitting him.
He watched as you undressed yourself, slowly but surely.
You left yourself in nothing but the shirt.
Desperately he gripped your hips, carefully watching you. Watched as you took his hand, taking his fingers into your mouth. Sucking on him, spit coating his digits.
Watched as you navigated his fingers behind you, asking him to continue what you started.
Finger circling the rim before pushing in, the stretch burned. You haven’t been with anyone after the breakup.
He soothed you the best he can, kissing you slowly to stop the whines leaving you.
Each finger added left you arching, finger hitting your spot before stopping.
Deeming good enough, you yanked his hand away. Reaching behind you, tip just barely touching you.
Achingly slow before you halted, giving yourself a breather.
Hands finding your hips again, “ You look so beautiful like this.” His words went in and out the other ear.You knew this would only last for just this night.
Smiling , solemnly tracing his stomach. Leaning down, “Stop..” for now , the both of you will drown in this temporarily bliss.
Suddenly you lifted yourself up before slamming back down, shutting whatever the man was gonna say.
Bouncing up and down, thighs clenching from force. Fingers gripping you, leaving harsh marks.
Your own hard on slapping against his lower abdomen, creating friction. Sobs left you , no longer drunk on liquor but the man beneath you.
“Y-you feel so -.. good-“ slaps echoed the room mixed with moans, the air becoming stiff.
Mouth finding the others neck, sucking hard into him, muffling yourself from saying anything stupid.
Clenching around his length, repeatedly hitting your spot. The other’s hand groped you from behind, spreading you open.
Whining from stimulation, the two of you becoming sloppy, his hips stuttering into you.
Your own legs shaky, thighs clenching and unclenching. The constant pleasure left you guys muttering nothing into each others skin.
It wasn’t long before you spilled yourself onto the other’s stomach, the white contrast with tan skin.
Halting your movements, as the other fucked up into you messily.
Wordlessly as he released in you, the warmness embraced you.
Collapsing onto him, you both laid there.Before he slowly pulled out.The seed spilling out of you , effectively dripping out of your hole.
The two of you said nothing, you were officially sobered up.
Afraid to lose this forever, your hands found his, intertwining together. Before you could think , the words left you.
“I love you.”

sparks on the mat
pairing: axel kovacevic x reader
just a little blurb nothing much :)
word count: under 1k words
…
the gym buzzed with the excitement of the sekai takai.
the air smelled faintly of sweat and polished wooden floors, and the echoes of kiais from sparring competitors bounced off the walls.
you adjusted your belt nervously, the knot slightly crooked but holding firm. it was one of your first tournaments, and you were painfully aware of how much you stood out among the seasoned competitors.
still, you had made it this far, and you were determined to give it your best.
across the gym, axel stretched casually near the mats.
his bright red hair caught the light, messy but oddly fitting for someone who carried himself with such confidence. he wore his iron dragon suit, ready for his match.
the announcer’s voice crackled over the pa system. “next match: y/n l/n versus axel kovacevic, round 3.”
your heart skipped a beat. “great,” you muttered, wiping their palms on their gi.
“my first match, and it’s against someone who looks like they’ve been doing this since birth.”
as you approached the mat, axel turned to meet them with a friendly grin. “hey, first sekai takai?” he asked, offering a hand.
“is it that obvious?” you replied, shaking his hand. his grip was firm but not intimidating.
“just a little,” he teased. “but don’t worry. first matches are always the hardest. just focus on breathing, and you’ll be fine.”
you chuckled nervously. “thanks. i’ll try not to embarrass myself too much.”
you bowed to each other and took your stances as the referee called for the match to begin.
your nerves were on high alert, but axel’s earlier kindness helped ease the tension.
the match started slow, with axel testing your defenses with light jabs and kicks.
you blocked clumsily but managed to hold your ground. after a few exchanges, axel feinted left and aimed a kick at your torso, but you reacted instinctively, sidestepping and landing a light tap to his shoulder.
the referee called, “point!”
axel stepped back, visibly impressed. “nice one! that was quick.”
you blinked, surprised at your own success. “really? i mean—thanks!”
the match continued, with axel clearly holding back just enough to keep things competitive but encouraging. you managed to score another point before axel ultimately won, but by the end, you were both smiling through your exhaustion.
after the match, axel walked over, offering a fist bump. “you’ve got so much potential, y/n. keep at it, and you’ll be moving up in no time.”
you returned the gesture, grinning. “thanks, axel. and, uh, good luck with the rest of the tournament. i’ll be rooting for you.”
axel’s grin widened. “appreciate it. maybe we’ll spar again someday. you’re pretty fun to fight.”
as he walked away, you couldn’t help but feel a new spark of confidence. they weren’t just some rookie out of their depth anymore—they were someone axel thought was fun.
maybe the sekai takai wasn’t so bad after all!
…
hope you guys found this cute, it’s incredibly generic but 🙏

Okay why can't I stop thinking about Kwon getting reader with that big ass knife, and Axel carrying reader off a lá Sir Harwin Strong
𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐧'𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐬 | axel kovacevik × fem!reader
part I — part II
summary | you try to stop Kwon from getting to Robby, and Axel tries to stop him from hurting you
warnings | physical violence, tension, strong language, dangerous situation
word count | 1.3 k
The Sekai Taikai is chaos. Everything happens so fast that you barely have time to think. You know Kwon is furious, his attention fixed on Robby, his dark eyes burning with hatred. You can't let that fight happen.
Without a second thought, you step forward, standing between them.
He pauses for a second, surprised by your intervention, but quickly his face twists into a sneer.
"Get out of my way." This has nothing to do with you."
Kwon frowns and, without further warning, throws a direct punch at you. You narrowly dodge it, your body moving by pure instinct.
It launches again, but this time you're ready. With a quick turn, you block his attack and counter with a blow to his torso, taking him back a step. His breathing becomes heavy, but he doesn't seem willing to give in.
You manage to land a kick to his side, making him stagger. He loses his balance and falls to the ground with a dull thud. For a moment, you think the fight is over, but then you see it.
The metallic shine on the ground, just a few centimeters from him.
Kwon sees it too. His eyes are fixed on the knife, as if it were a beacon in the darkness.
"No..." you whisper, but it's too late.
With a swift motion, Kwon grabs the knife in his hands, rising with an expression that freezes your blood.
"Is this what you want, Kwon?" you shout, taking a step back. "Do you really want to cross that line?"
You prepare to defend yourself, but before Kwon can take another step, a figure stands between you.
"Stop!"
His voice is like thunder, stopping Kwon in his tracks. Without hesitation, Axel advances and gives a quick blow to the arm holding the knife, causing him to fall to the ground. In one fluid motion, he kicks the knife away, making sure no one can reach it.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" Axel growls, holding Kwon by the neck of his gi.
Kwon struggles to free himself, but Axel doesn't give him a chance. He pushes him back hard, taking him back several steps.
Axel turns to you, his hard expression softening slightly.
"Are you okay?" —
"Yes, but..." Your voice trembles, but you manage to compose yourself. "Thank you."
Axel nods, but his gaze darkens as he returns to Kwon.
"This ends here," he says firmly, before turning to you again. "Let's go."
Before you can react, he takes you in his arms, carrying you with ease. "Axel, I can walk!" "You protest, although the force in your words is minimal.
"I won't risk it," he pulls you out of all the chaos of the tournament by dodging and pushing those who stood in his way.
As Axel lifts you up in his arms, a strange but electrifying sensation runs through your entire body. The ease with which it charges you makes you feel small, vulnerable, but also deeply protected. It's as if everything you've experienced so far vanishes in that moment. Your body weight doesn't seem to matter to him at all; He holds you with absolute trust, as if it were nothing to carry your weight, as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
The way his arms wrap around you is both protective and possessive. You feel the firmness of his grip, the warmth of his body against yours, and there's something about that sensation that turns you on in an unexpected way. The force with which he lifts you, the ease with which he places you in his arms, is a palpable sign of his power, of his mastery, and in some way he turns you on. You wonder if he knows, if he is aware of the effect he has on you by holding you like this, with that security that makes you feel so fragile and so protected at the same time.
Your breathing accelerates unintentionally, the friction of his body against yours causes a heat that goes beyond the fatigue of combat. You feel your heart beating in your ears.
It's as if, by carrying your weight, by holding you with that ease, he's also making it clear who's in charge, who's in control here. And that feeling of being so vulnerable, so small in their arms, somehow turns you on in a way that you can't deny.
With determined steps, he takes you out of the chaos, away from danger. As he carries you, you can't help but feel safe, even in the middle of the storm. The weight of the day begins to fade, as does the sound of screaming.
When he finally drops you to safety, his eyes meet you with an intensity that makes you forget for a moment everything that just happened. His gaze is cold, but his eyes reflect something else: concern. Despite his usual control, there is a palpable uneasiness in him.
"Are you okay?" Her voice is low, deep, and something about her makes you feel vulnerable.
You watch him for a moment, his fiercely protective expression. His muscles tense, his fists clenched, as if he were still ready to enter the fight again.
"I'm fine," you reply, but your tone is softer than you'd like. Tiredness consumes you, and words feel like a distant echo.
Axel doesn't seem convinced. He gets even closer to you and his concern is so evident that it makes you feel a strange mixture of discomfort and... relief. It's as if all the fury inside you has disappeared in that instant, leaving you with only the vulnerability you had tried to hide.
"I'm not sure you are," he says, pulling closer, his eyes racing over you intensely, assessing every inch of you. As if he feared that something else might happen.
You feel uncomfortable with that look, like he's willing to carry you if it meant keeping you safe, but at the same time, you find it... pleasant. A heat ignites inside you, something you can't ignore.
You stare into his eyes, and without thinking, you get up from the bench you were sitting on. Axel watches you, expectantly, and for a moment the world around you vanishes.
"You know what, Axel?" You say with a somewhat mischievous smile, taking a step towards him. "I think the only thing I need now... It's a kiss.
The air seems to stop for a second. Axel blinks, surprising at first, but his expression changes rapidly, though he can't hide the flash of surprise that flashes across his eyes.
"What?" His voice is almost a whisper, and for a moment it seems that he is looking for some sign of a joke.
But you don't back down. You get even closer to him, without looking away.
"You heard that right". Your voice is confident, although the tension in the air increases. "A kiss. That's all I need."
Axel keeps looking at you, studying your words, as if he's evaluating every intention behind them. A slight sigh escapes him before he takes a step towards you.
Then, with a speed you didn't expect, he grabs you by the waist, pulling you toward him. Your heartbeat resonates loudly in your chest, and in the blink of an eye, his lips are above yours, warm and urgent.
The first sensation is a crash. The intensity of his kiss brings you down, but you don't care. His embrace fits around you, his hands steady behind your back, as if he's telling you that you don't have to worry about anything else. At that moment, the whole world seems to vanish. There is only him and you, and the silent promise of something that needs no words to be understood.
The kiss lasts only an instant, but when it separates, the feeling of calm and satisfaction runs through your entire body.
Axel looks at you with an expression you don't know how to interpret, but the twinkle in his eye tells you everything you need to know.
"Is that what you wanted?" He asks, his voice somewhat hoarse, as if he too were processing what just happened.
"Yes, exactly" . You laugh softly, feeling a mixture of relief and excitement.

darlin', oh, you see i've never felt this way before
Yangvik Week Day 6: Jealousy
Summary: Yangchen knows that Kavik is handsome. She just didn't expect to feel so possessive when other people notice the same thing.
Word Count: 3811
CW: sex jokes, innuendos, implied/referenced sex, people being very openly thirsty
(will be posted to ao3 later)
~~~~
The Western Air Temple still smells like home.
Sitting on the edge of one of the large stone platforms that form the temple, Yangchen takes a deep breath in, the thin mountain air settling deep into her lungs, wrapping its way around her heart. It’s still the same as she’s always remembered, the same she’s longed to breathe throughout her journeys across the world.
There’s a holy day coming up, the main reason Yangchen has come. The temple elders reached out to ask her to lead the ceremonies, to provide the blessings and prayers for the temple.
Yangchen never minds giving blessings. But it’s a special honor to be asked to do so for her home.
It’s early, but the temple is already full of life. Yangchen herself has just finished with a dawn meditation session, and now everywhere around her is bustling with activity. Brooms sweeping across the floors, nearby bison grumbling for their morning treats, nuns chatting as they carry supplies from one corner of the temple to another.
And down on the floor below, a sound that brings a grin creeping onto Yangchen’s face: the gasps and giggles of a group of children utterly enthralled by something. She’s pretty sure she might know why.
Pushing herself to standing, Yangchen grabs her glider to pop it open with a satisfying snap. Her hand settles over the worn wood, fingers falling into a practiced grip. Leaping directly into the open air is as thrilling as always, her body naturally knowing which way to turn to catch the familiar air currents.
She supposes she could just fly down to the next floor, letting her glider and her airbending catch her fall. But where would the fun be in that? She can’t resist making a few extra turns and spins, reveling in all the free space to fly around. It’s so nice to use her glider somewhere that’s designed for it.
Eventually, though, she lets herself drop from the air until she’s on solid footing once more, landing with soft feet and fluttering robes, glider staff falling closed once more. She wants to see what all the commotion is about.
The sight she finds brings a broad smile to her lips: a group of young girls, all around the ages of six to eight, stand gathered before a waterbender, fascinated as they watch him weave a complicated pattern of strings between his fingers.
Kavik, for his part, looks absolutely thrilled to have amassed such an audience. His hands twist, strings looping over his knuckles, until he brings them apart to show off the design he’s created.
“This shape is called ‘the polecat-wolverine’.” The little girls ooh and ahh, eyes wide.
Glancing around, she notices that a few more nuns have gathered to watch, likely just as intrigued about the noise. The approaching holy day means that Air Nomads from all over have returned to the temple to help prepare. Rather than just children and the elderly, nuns of all ages are present - some of them that Yangchen even recognizes from her youth.
It’s rare that outsiders visit for the holy days. Not that they’re particularly discouraged, but because most people from other nations are put off by the idea of hours-long meditation sessions, early hikes to sacred sites around the temple, and chants that seem to go on forever.
But Kavik wanted to come. Yangchen told him she was headed to the Western Air Temple for a few days, and he’d packed his bags the same night.
“What?” He’d asked when she looked at him curiously, taking care to give her the most punchable expression he could manage, “You thought I wouldn’t come with you?”
Well, clearly he’s been made to feel welcomed. He untangles the string and starts on a new shape, blue eyes focused. The girls lean in, not wanting to miss a single loop. Yangchen remains off to the side, unable to contain her smile at the scene.
A few more nuns take a pause from their tasks to join in. Though they stand near Yangchen, they don’t seem to take notice of her.
At the temple, she’s just another airbender. Her orange robes and tattoos make her blend in, not stand out. It’s a rather nice change of pace, to not be the center of attention for once. She’s happy to let that task fall on Kavik’s shoulders for the time being. After all, he seems to be enjoying it.
“He’s so sweet with the children,” One of the nearby nuns comments.
Kavik finishes with the new shape, presenting it to the gathered girls with an easy smile. “This figure is ‘the two boats’. See how the string forms the two men? Two men, two boats.”
“Another!” A younger girl trills from the crowd. She’s a tiny thing, clinging to the robes of another, taller child. The girls cheer, joining their sister in her request. Kavik looks only too happy to oblige them.
“He’s good with that string - I bet he’d be good at weaving.” The same nun murmurs to her friend, “Perhaps we should try and get him on the loom while he’s here.”
“Yeah, I bet he’s good with his hands,” Her friend replies, giggling. “Look how fast he can move his fingers; I’d like to see those in action.”
The first nun elbows her, laughing. “Tsewang, you can’t just say that!”
That only makes Tsewang giggle more. “Like you’re any better! Don’t think I didn’t catch you checking out his backside during breakfast!”
Oh. Yangchen realizes with a sudden, uncomfortable clarity, They think that Kavik is attractive.
She can’t blame them, really. It’s one of the first things she noticed about him: that the thief caught red-handed in her room was almost unfairly good-looking.
Still, she finds herself with a strong desire to move away until she can’t hear the rest of this conversation. She can’t blame them for thinking Kavik is attractive. But that doesn’t mean she wants to hear it said out loud.
—
By the afternoon, she’s nearly forgotten about the whole event. There’s plenty of work to be done: the temple needs to be cleaned from top to bottom, food needs to be prepared, water needs to be hauled from the mountain spring to perfume it en masse. She may be the Avatar, but while she’s here she’s just Yangchen, and is expected to help out accordingly.
Not that she minds, of course. She’s happy to help, happy to feel the ache in her arms from hours of hard work. Her heart will always long for the air, but for now she’s happy to feel grounded.
She hasn’t seen much of Kavik since this morning. Abbess Dagmola put him to work in a different area of the temple, and even the most powerful being in the world is subject to the commands of her temple elder.
Yangchen and a group of her sisters are cleaning up one of the lower floors of the temple, close enough to the canyon they can catch glimpses of others traveling through it, on their way to complete one chore or another. The floors have been swept, and now they’re up to their elbows in suds, polishing the stone until it shines.
To pass the long hours, the nuns have been singing. Versions of prayers and chants put to a tune, old fairytale songs they remember from their childhood, even a randy sailor’s ditty one of them picked up from their time on the coast. It’s been distracting enough that Yangchen has been able to ignore the growing ache in her shoulders.
She rocks back onto her heels, wiping the sweat from her forehead and glancing around to observe their work. They’re nearly done, and then it will be on to shaking the dust from the many tapestries hung from the vaulted ceilings.
A low whisper, punctuated by a muffled snicker, draws her attention from her sponge and bucket. A trio of nuns - slightly younger, judging by their short hair - stand perched at the edge of the floor, tittering between them like a flock of sparrowkeets.
Yangchen heaves herself to her feet, wincing as her joints pop and groan in complaint. She wanders over to the gathering, trying to figure out just what could leave them so transfixed. One of the girls still has a dripping sponge in her hand, the water steadily soaking the hem of her robes.
Then she peeks down into the canyon and everything becomes so much clearer.
The abbess must have sent Kavik to help with water-collecting duty. It’s the only explanation that makes sense for why he’s standing below them, knee-deep and shirtless in the mountain spring. His arms move in a smooth, unbroken circle as he bends the water into waiting buckets. Even from this distance, the motion enunciates every muscle in his back and shoulders.
Warmth spreads through Yangchen’s stomach, face flushing hot. Judging from the expressions of the girls next to her, she’s not the only one feeling that way. The three of them are practically drooling.
“I think I want him to just… lay on top of me…” One says aloud, eyes wide. The other two laugh and shove her, at least until another speaks up.
“I don’t have any money, but I’d pay to lick the sweat off his biceps.”
The third girl, the one with the sponge, screws up her face in distaste. “You two are nasty.”
Her sisters glance at her, unimpressed that she isn’t taking part in their game. A moment later, the girl relents with a roll of her eyes.
“His hair is cute, though. I bet it’s really soft.” She squeezes the sponge to her chest, sighing dreamily. “And those eyes…”
For some reason, it’s that statement that brings the same odd feeling back to Yangchen’s chest. She clears her throat softly, watching in amusement as the girls whip around, eyes widening as they realize they’ve just been caught slacking by Avatar Yangchen herself.
“Something interesting to see, girls?”
They scatter like leaves on the wind, dashing back to their buckets with pink-tinged faces. Yangchen can’t help the chuckle that escapes her throat.
She risks a second glance at the spring below the temple. Buckets filled, Kavik has stopped bending. He wipes the back of his hand across his forehead to clear the sweat. His other hand settles against his hip as his head tilts back, chest heaving from exertion.
Yangchen heads back to her bucket before she can do something stupid.
—
Dinner comes, and still the feeling remains. Yangchen ponders it as she eats her steamed buns, watching Kavik from across the table.
As the Avatar and the Avatar’s companion, they both have seats of honor, allowed to eat with the temple elders. Kavik is the star of the conversation, entertaining everyone with the excited, intense way he tells his stories.
She knows that Kavik is attractive. She doesn’t mind it being pointed out, really. She’s had him use it to their advantage plenty of times in the past, saving several missions just by sending him to flirt until they could sneak away.
She doesn’t even mind the way the other nuns have been so open about their attraction and desire. It’s simply the way they do things at the temples; desire is a human emotion, nothing to be ashamed of.
Besides, she remembers her own adolescence in the Western Air Temple. Once, when she’d been about fifteen, she’d been granted a few weeks of respite after she mastered waterbending before she traveled to the Earth Kingdom to start the next portion of her training. During that time, a group of monks from the Southern Air Temple came to stay. They’d all been newly tattooed, eager to take on the world as masters.
The other girls her age had instantly declared themselves in love, which soon devolved into a competition of who could make the naughtiest joke about the young men without getting scolded by an abbess for distracting the class. Yangchen, who spent her free time writing fake letters to faker people, had neither the time nor energy to devote to desires of the heart and body. In fact, for many years she wasn’t entirely sure if she had desires of that kind.
She did, however, manage to get in a joke about how one of the monks ‘handled his glider’ - more out of the wish to see the others laugh than for any real attraction to the man - that brought one of her sisters to tears in pure hysterics.
So. She gets it. Really, she does.
But that still doesn’t stop the strange feeling of… possessiveness that she’s been getting every time she spies someone eyeing Kavik up.
Even now, she can see the signs. All around are nuns surreptitiously sneaking peeks, whispering in each others’ ears ‘don’t make it obvious…’, pretending like they’re getting up for second helpings but going out of their way to pass by their table.
A small part of her wants to just march over to Kavik’s seat and kiss him senseless, right here and right now. That’ll show them. She’s the one who gets to drag her fingers through his hair. She’s the one who gets to feel the way he moves on top of her. She’s the one who gets to experience all the other creative ways he can use his hands.
Unfortunately, that would be bad etiquette. Not feeling too hungry any more, she settles for resting her head in her hands, listening to Kavik finish up his story between bites of food. He gets an uproarious laughter from a particularly good punchline, and his satisfied smile sends her heart fluttering.
He catches her eye from across the table, looking to her as if to make sure she heard his clever joke.
A different idea worms its way into Yangchen’s head. Perhaps if I show that he’s off-limits…
She smiles warmly in Kavik’s direction, crooking her finger at him in a subtle come-hither motion. He’s quick to oblige, standing up and circling the table to get to her seat.
“Do you want me to get you anything else to eat?” Clearly, he’s noticed her half-eaten plate.
Yangchen leans in, bringing her lips closer to his ear. “No. But I would like you to come to my room tonight.”
Kavik jolts in surprise, blue eyes wide. She’s never made an advance on him in public like this. At least, not a real one.
She leans in again, warming her breath with firebending for good measure. “Midnight. Be there.”
His face turns a shade of red that Fire Nationals would be jealous of. All around, watchful eyes take in the scene: The Avatar, whispering something in her companion’s ear that’s turned him into a blushing fool, stumbling over both his words and his feet.
Yangchen lets her smirk be seen throughout the room as Kavik makes his way back to his seat, eyes firmly affixed to the floor. The best plans always have a sprinkle of the truth.
The nuns of the Western Air Temple manage to find more interesting things to look at for the rest of dinner.
—
Yangchen wakes up in shades, consciousness seeping into her bones with each exhale of breath. The pre-dawn light creeps through her window, casting the room in a soft, dreamlike haze. It’s so early that even the lemurs are still asleep.
The heavy, comforting weight of Kavik’s arm is circling over her, keeping her tucked close to his chest. The bed in her quarters is only really meant for one person, but they’ve made it work.
Under normal circumstances, she’d be rousing him awake at this time, ignoring his protesting grumbles to give him ample time to sneak back to his own lodgings. Emerging from the same room in the morning usually leads to more complications than they want to to deal with, so they do their best to avoid it.
But this is her home. If there’s anywhere in the world that she can be seen with him by her side, really by her side, then it’s here. And, of course, there’s the fact that she did orchestrate this whole situation to specifically invite those kinds of speculations, in hopes that it might put a bit of a damper on all the ogling.
Though she will admit, it’s a lot harder to feel threatened when the object of everyone’s desire in question just spent half the night on his knees for her. And is now tucked beside her in the bed, sleepy and warm and completely naked.
More awake now, Yangchen lets her eyes roam over Kavik’s sleeping face. His dark hair is mussed and falling to his shoulders, and his lips stay slightly parted, letting each deep breath end with a tiny puff of air from his mouth. Her thumb comes to rest there, gently stroking across his plush lower lip. The slight touch is enough to hitch his breath, eyebrows furrowing as he begins to wake.
Yangchen’s hand moves to his cheek, cupping his face in her palm. His eyelashes flutter, and then, slowly, his eyes begin to open, revealing those blue irises that steal her breath every time.
“Hi there,” Kavik’s voice is low and groggy, with a slight rasp that makes Yangchen want to melt into a puddle of goo.
He stretches, long and languid, yawning so widely that Yangchen can hear his jaw pop. His fingers tangle with those already on his cheek, bringing her hand to his mouth so he can begin to kiss his way up her arm, tracing the pattern of her tattoos.
When his lips reach her elbow, he pulls away, landing his next kiss on her lips. “Is it time for me to leave?”
Yangchen returns his sleepy kiss with one of her own, pulling herself as close to him as she can manage. His arms wrap around her, just as eager for the closeness. “Not this morning, no.”
“Hm,” Kavik notes, voice still scratchy, “You’ve been acting clingy since yesterday. What’s going on?”
She nuzzles her face against his chest, letting the scent of him settle into her head. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
He just hums, leaning forward to kiss a path along the shaved portion of her hairline. Yangchen sinks into the easy affection, pressing her nose into the hollow of his throat, starting up her own trail of gentle kisses.
However, when she reaches the opposite side of his neck, something gives her pause. Kavik, feeling her freeze, pulls away to look at her.
“Why are you looking at me with that face?”
Yangchen isn’t sure whether she should start laughing or apologizing. Laughter quickly wins out, so much so that she has to slap her hand over her mouth to muffle her giggles. Kavik’s eyebrows climb up his forehead in confusion. “What? What’s happening?”
She wriggles from his embrace to go search for a mirror. Finding one stashed away in her bag, she returns it to the bed as Kavik sits up, sheets pooling in his lap.
Her entire body shakes with laughter as she watches his expression go from confused to concerned to horrified in a matter of seconds, eyes nearly bulging out of his head. “Yangchen, what did you do?”
On one side of his neck, an absolutely massive bruise lays, nearly the size of her closed fist. It’s undoubtedly a result of their activities last night, and even more undoubtedly Yangchen’s fault.
She’d only meant to leave a small mark, maybe two. The kind that could be easily healed or covered up. Admittedly, she’d been a bit excited to leave some kind of physical evidence that proved Kavik was well and truly spoken for.
Okay, so she went a bit overboard.
“I look like I lost a fight to an octopus-leech!”
Yangchen rolls her eyes at that. “Oh, come on, don’t be so dramatic.” She gestures to the nearby washbasin, and the pitcher full of water sitting next to it. “Think of it as an opportunity to get some healing practice in.”
Kavik laughs in disbelief. “How did you even make one that big?”
“I don’t remember you complaining so much when I was giving it to you.”
His face flushes a delightful shade of red at that. “You’re terrible.”
It’s too easy. “Not what you said last night.”
“Can you stop-”
“Not what you were telling me to do last night!”
Rather than fall further into her trap, Kavik shuts her up by tackling her into the bed, making her shriek with laughter when his hands dig into her sides to tickle her mercilessly.
She lets him get away with it for a few more seconds before tapping out, smacking her hand on the back of his shoulder until he relents. He stays above her, both of their chests still heaving with laughter.
“You did this on purpose, didn’t you?”
She reaches up to touch the bruise, biting her lip to stifle her giggles. He doesn’t flinch when her fingers rub across it, so it must look a lot worse than it feels.
“I might have.”
Kavik rolls off to the side, settling his head back onto the pillow. “Why?”
“Did you notice everyone staring after you all day?” Yangchen brings her hand to his head, combing her fingers absent-mindedly through his loose hair.
An amused grin appears on Kavik’s face. “Avatar Yangchen, were you jealous?”
She shakes her head, but can’t find the words to deny it. “I don’t feel like sharing you.”
Kavik’s eyes soften. “You don’t have to. You know that I’m all yours.”
She supposes she does, deep down. Still, his assurance feels like a beam of sun, light and warmth spreading over her heart.
Cupping his cheek once more, Yangchen leans in to kiss him. Kavik wraps his arms around her, pulling her tight to his chest.
When they part again for air, she holds his gaze in her own, trying to memorize every shade of blue in his eyes. There’s so many things she wants to say, words bubbling in her throat, confusing half-sentences threatening to spill out.
She settles for what’s easiest. “I’m all yours, too.”
Kavik just smiles, like he’s already known this forever. Of course he already knows. How could he not?
Avatar Yangchen belongs to the world before anything else. Yangchen will always be the Avatar; even in death her spirit will remain to continue the cycle. She holds the world’s biggest blessing and its heaviest burden. It will always have a claim over her.
But right here, her world is just this: the blue of Kavik’s eyes, the safety of his arms, and the love that she can feel pouring out of his very being.
Yangchen kisses him again, and knows he can feel the way it pours from her, too.
she was wearing white, and he was like, 'i might be in trouble' | Axel Kovačević x Fem! Reader
prequel to 'the reason why i smile'
Summary: As the newest student to Miyagi-Do, you're the shiny new toy everyone wants to see and play with. Unfortunately for them, you didn't have quite the bubbly personality, but one person who loves a challenge, finds out for himself what lies beneath the hard exterior of yours.
Word Count: 2.2k Warnings: None, cursing, fluff, fighting (karate)
not my gif
Axel couldn't believe his eyes. You stood in front of the class, dressed in your white Miyagi-Do gi, with an emotionless look on your face as Sensei LaRusso introduced you to the team.
When your eyes landed on him, he swallowed the lump in his throat. He thought you were the prettiest girl he'd ever laid eyes on, and there you were, directed to go fall in next to him.
"Welcome!" He greets you with a big smile. It doesn't phase Axel when you barely spare a glance towards him, and nod in return. He loved a challenge.
The next few weeks, your paired with him to spar and it takes everything inside you not to be annoyed because why was this kid always asking you questions?
"Do you have any favorite bands?"
You huffed trying to keep focus on attacking your opponent while still answering his question. "The Strokes."
"I don't think I've listened to them all that much, maybe you can give me a few songs to listen to," he babbles, effortlessly blocking your two strikes.
"Fine," you agree, "focus!"
He laughs lightly before you manage to sneak in a 'ashi barai' foot sweep, and landing a point in the middle of his chest.
"Nice, (Y/n)!" Miguel comments from behind you. Axel is staring up at you in awe, completely mesmerized by the way you were able to take him down.
"I'll make you that list," you smirk at the boy on the grass, walking away as he processed what had just happened.
Miguel ran up to him, offering a hand to stand up.
"You okay?" He asks the awe-struck boy, helping him sit up.
"I think I just fell in love," Axel confesses his eyes searching for you.
"With the new girl?" Miguel questions. "She just kicked your ass."
"Exactly," Axel exhales seeing you take a sip from your water flask.
When it's time to call it a day, you find yourself waiting for your mom to pick you up at the exit of the dojo.
Axel see's this, and takes this opportunity to talk with you.
"Need a ride?" He asks coming up to your side.
"My mom is on her way," you say adjusting your gym bag on your shoulder. "Thanks though."
Axel nods slightly disappointed, and continues to walk to his car. Your phone buzzes in your hand, it's a text from your mom.
She was stuck in traffic and wouldn't be there for another thirty minutes. The sun was nearly all the way down, and you didn't want to stay out in this cool weather for the next half hour.
"Axel!" You call out to the tall boy. He stood by the drivers side of his car, his head snapping up.
You hastily walk over to him tucking your hair behind your ears.
"I could use a ride if the offer still stands," you say a soft blush rising your cheeks. Axel smiled widely pressing the key to his car for a second time so the passenger side could unlock.
"Of course!" He responds running over to your side, opening the door for you. You can't help the small smile on your face at his manners, carefully getting into his vehicle.
He closes the door behind you, going back to his side and sliding in.
"Type in your address," Axel hands you his phone, apple maps already open for you. You quickly type in your address along with something else he would soon appreciate.
You sent a text to your mom telling her she can meet you back at the house, you were getting a ride from a friend.
"Thanks for this, my mom is stuck on the highway," you explain placing his phone on the small holder in his vents.
"It's no problem," he assures you beginning to drive off. "Are you hungry? I can stop by something on the way."
You can't help but feel a warmth spread through you at his kindness, you had been so cold towards him and here he was offering you food.
"My mom is making dinner tonight," you inform him. "But thanks."
"Is it just you and your mom?" He asks quickly glancing over at you.
"Yeah," you sigh scooting slightly down in your seat. "My dad and brother live in Ojai."
"Is that where you're from?"
You nod silently, your parents divorce still somewhat fresh. They had separated for years but finally decided to part ways recently, landing you here in The Valley.
"Are you from here? Your accent," you motion to his mouth making him smile.
"No," he confirms. "Europe, my parents are doing business here in California."
"When did you move here?" You quiz him.
Each question evolved into another, Axel throughly explaining each one with you listening thoughtfully, completely intrigued.
When he pulls up to your home, you're still staring him taking in the words that fell from his lips.
"Thanks again for the ride," you give him a genuine closed mouth smile making his heart stutter.
"Anytime," he says hands tapping against the steering wheel. Before you can close the door, he says "wait!"
You raise an eyebrow, reopening the door slightly. Axel's mouth gaps, the question he wants to ask you, not coming out.
He wants to ask for your number, and continue to get to know you. But you were quiet, he knows you still have a guard up and he didn't want slow the progress he's made with you today.
"Never mind," he shook his head. "See you tomorrow."
"See you later," you say closing the door. He waits for you to enter the house before driving off.
Later that night, Axel is doing his homework, or at least attempting to while thinking about you.
He was remembering the way he your (e/c) eyes stayed focus on the side of his face while he responded to your questions, not leaving a single detail out, and the way you nodded as he talked, letting him know you were listening.
He's caught off guard when his phone buzzed on his desk, a text notification popping up on his screen. He furrows his eyebrows together as he notices it's an unknown number.
When he unlocks his phone, he's taken by surprise when it's a homemade playlist on Apple Music.
And it's from you.
(Y/n): Here, to get you familiar. If you like them, I might have to introduce you to Arctic Monkeys, maybe Cage The Elephant.
Axel fell in love twice that day.
----------------------------------------------------
As time passed, you found yourself enjoying Axel's company, so much so you looked for him at school.
One of those days, your walking down the stairs with Hawk, listening to him ramble about a new video game that just came out when he says something extremely funny making you laugh.
Hawk glances over at you as you shake with laughter, this new noise coming from you surprising him and the others around you. Including Axel whom trailed behind you.
"(Y/n), is that you laughing?" You hear. Peeking back, you see Axel grinning down at you. "It's so...perfect," he grins.
You roll your eyes playfully, a scoff falling from your lips.
"Shut up," you mutter turning your back to him once again.
He made it his life's mission to hear that laugh again.
-------------------------------------------------------
There's a rare random Friday where the Sensei's decide to give the kids a day off and enjoy their weekend.
As the final bell rang for your last class, you make your way out of the classroom and search the halls for a tall Croatian boy. When you spot his golden brown hair, you mentally smile noticing it's tousled end of day look, just how you liked it.
"Hey," you greet Axel casually.
"Hey!" He gives you his famous grin as you fall into step with each other.
"You doing anything with your free night?" You ask casually.
"I'm trying to decide what I'm gonna do for dinner tonight, my parents are going to a dinner party for my father's business," Axel says. You could work with that.
"Do you wanna try that pizza place off Encino?" You proposition.
Axel nods, completely unaware what you're asking him, and what your intentions are.
"Yeah! Miguel says it's really good," he says, excited to finally try the pizza place he passes on his way to the dojo.
"Cool, we can meet there around six?" You suggest fiddling with your car keys.
"Do you want me to pick you up?" He offers. "You're on my way."
You realize you are in fact on his way to the place and nod in agreement.
"If you don't mind," you say lightly. Axel notices the tiniest sincerity in your voice that he doesn't hear very often making him giddy.
"Of course not," he insists. "I'll text you when I'm there."
"Don't be late," you say flatly making him smile. There's that charm he knows and loves.
You two part your ways for the afternoon, each heading home to get ready for tonight.
Normally your attire is casual, jeans, crop tops, sweatshirts, converse. Tonight you wanted to try.
It doesn't surprise you when Axel doesn't text you but instead gets down from his car, rings your doorbell, and waits outside like the gentlemen he is.
Axel feels his heart begin to thump in his chest when you open your door revealing your beautiful self. 'That's a new sweater' he notices.
The way the white cashmere top fell off your left shoulder, revealing your glowing skin made him swoon internally.
"You're early," you point out, stepping out and locking the door behind you.
"I wanted to avoid traffic, didn't want to risk being late for you," he explains. "Can't have you bailing on me."
You chuckle turning back to face him. "I wouldn't."
The both of you head towards his car, as per usual, he opens the passenger door for you, closing it softly once you get in. Learning to reciprocate the same manners, you reach over the counsel and open the door for him.
The car ride is filled with a comfortable silence, your newest playlist you curated for Axel playing in the background. Glancing over at you, Axel notices something different about you.
It's not a bad different by any means, but he can't quite place what it is.
Your lips are painted with a pink gloss, and the way your hair style went from straight to curled since he last saw you at school made him a little confused.
Not to mention the car was filled with a vanilla scent that lingered from you, it was heavenly to him.
"You look nice," he says sincerely, breaking the silence.
You're caught off guard, noticing his eyes fall to your exposed collarbone.
"Thank you," you respond quietly. It was the first time Axel ever heard you sound so vulnerable.
Axel smiles to himself, enjoying your music and relishing in your perfume.
It's when you're both sat across from one another, having just placed your order, that Axel realizes what was happening.
You were being nice, laughing at his jokes more than usual, sharing just a little more of your thoughts and opinions. The effort behind your subtle but elevated look. You were trying.
"So...what's the occasion?" Axel inquires as you take a bite of your pizza.
You raise your eyebrows, placing your slice back down on the plate to take a sip of your soda. "What do you mean?" Your words are innocent.
"Don't take this wrong way then I say this, you look beautiful everyday," he begins his words making your blush. "But tonight you look like you're dressed to impress."
"Maybe I am," you shrug avoiding his eyes.
"Oh," He grins, his heart doing backflips. "Should I be jealous of who ever you're trying to impress?"
A playful smirk comes across your lips as you pick up your pizza, taking another bite.
"This is a date isn't it?" He draws together, his smile never faltering.
"Date, hanging out, whatever," you attempt to play off. "Don't be weird."
Axel laughs softly, leaning back against the booth, his eyes still fixed on you with an amused glint.
"I'm honored," he spoke completely infatuated by the situation.
You rolled your eyes, the same smile tugging at your lips as you tried to hide behind your normal careless attitude. "You're annoying."
"Yeah, but you like me anyway," he teases grabbing another slice of the pepperoni pie placed between you two.
"Debatable," you snort at his accusation.
"I don't know, the way you've been looking at me recently says otherwise," he taunts you playfully.
"Right, like I haven't noticed the way you smile when I knock you on your ass at the dojo," you push back wiping away at the grease on the slice you grabbed.
"What can I say, I love a woman that can kick my ass," Axel deflects with a cheeky grin before taking a big bite out of his pizza.
"I can't stand you," you can't hold back the laughter that Axel loves to hear.
"But yet, here you are, on a date with me," he grins shooting you a wink.
"That I am," you admit stubbornly picking at the pepperoni.
It was the start of something you hadn't fully anticipated when you first arrived, Axel couldn't be more opposite of you. But it's also what you liked about him.
Can you tell us anything about the Creature Commandos? I read a brief blurb about them in a book of "Weird War Tales" with other stuff like the GI Robot and the Boy Commandos, but trying to google anything on them just leads to debates as to whether or not they were actually supernatural or some kind of science project.
Oh dammit, James Gunn's little Inglorious Bastards-esque cartoon just came out didn't it? Jokes on you guys though, I actually ordered and read the appropriate books ahead of time! You're not slick!/s
Thank you for providing the image for this one so I don't have to go looking for it. (I truly hope you did not watch the old TV movie this was made for though. My god this poster it the best part of it)
To answer the most pressing question, they're a science experiment. Buckle in because if you thought your opinion of the US Army could not get any lower!
The Creature Commandos were formed in 1941 under the auspices of an outfit known as Project M which was the pot the US Army threw money into with the expectation it would use them to come up with super weapons to end the Nazi threat with no oversight or ethical constraint. They were responsible for the construction of G.I Robot as you mentioned and one of their failed experiments even granted New York native Joan Dale the powers she would use to become Miss America.
The Commandos specifically were the brainchild of one Dr. Myron Mazurksy, a real mad scientist type with the pet theory that the tales of monsters and ghouls making up the bulk of human mythology were the triggers for an kind of evolutionary fear, his hypothesis was that altering subjects through chemical and surgical methods to resemble these monsters of legend would give them an edge on the battlefield. (Of course we know now that these stories are not psychological misinterpretations at all but instead tales of actual beings that really do exist)
The Creature Commandos were made up of four founding members:
Private Warren Griffith was diagnosed with psychological lycanthropy and so was remanded into Project M's custody where he was surgically altered into and actual wolf man with very little conscious control of the time of his painful metamorphosis. He had committed no crime other than being considered psychologically unfit for service.
Pilot Officer Vincent Velcoro, a member of the Royal Air Force convicted of high treason for striking a well connected superior officer. Remanded into American custody without any due process under British military law he was given the choice of a 30 year sentence or experimentation which turned him into a human vampire, forced to drink blood at least once a day and only able to stomach consuming raw meat.
Private Elliot "Lucky" Taylor, a newly minted marine who was nearly killed by a land mine during a war gaming exercise. Surgically reconstructed by Project M his vocal cords were severed by the procedure, his family was told he was KIA and Taylor himself was never consulted about the procedure nor was he allowed to leave after the fact. Again he had committed no crime and was not even unfit for service, simply fed into the mill for the sake of "progress"
and Dr Myrra Rhodes who, when operating upon a wounded soldier within Project M's compound was mutated by a poorly secured batch of mutagen chemicals, transformed into a living medusa. She was also unable to leave military custody and was listed as KIA, losing her entire life due to Project M's negligence.
They were placed under the command of one Lieutenant Matt Shrieve who noted in his later unearthed war journal a personal loathing for his "freakish" subordinates whom he treated with inhuman disdain. Providing for their needs only reluctantly and below the standards of what they would have received in a brig back home. They were sent on what were, frankly, suicide missions, managing to survive time and again based on good luck and the members' trust in one another above all.
A truly demonstrative directive, unearthed by a freedom of information request submitted by their families well after the fact showed that the Creature Commandos were under command from the highest echelon that their existence be kept an absolute secret from the All Star Squadron or any of its members. A personal note, written by a redacted command officer at the bottom of the ledger opines
"The long underwear freaks would just get their bleeding hearts in a twist anyway."
Meaning that the army specifically kept the Commandos a secret from the Squadron, KNOWING that the Squadron would object to the less than human conditions and expectations of the Commandos and most likely would have seen to their emancipation under Squadron protection.
As the war drew to a close, the Commandos were marked for execution by firing squad. No trial or crime was ever given as reason. "Spared" from execution they were sent in a rocket toward the then ongoing battle of Berlin to do some final "good" or die trying.
Their presence is not noted at the battle and their bodies, or indeed their trails have never been found. Make of that what you will.
Chapter 4
It’s Not Me, It’s You
Myung-gi x Fem! Reader
Warnings: Cursing and deaths
Summary: People began to realize these aren’t just children games you guys are playing.
————
When you and Nam-gyu returned to the common area, you got looks here and there from some people. You tried to ignore them, to keep your face from blushing. It wasn’t too hard since your mind was focusing on what the first game would be and if you would be any good at it.
Everyone was forming into a line and as you made your way to the back a hand grabbed you. “Shit.” You mumbled under your breathe almost loosing your footing as Myung-gi yanked you in front of him in line.
A couple people behind him complained about you cutting but he ignored them. “What was that ?” He asked, his eyebrows furrowed as he pointed to the door you and Nam-gyu just came through.
“We went and had a talk.”
He laughed as a hand ran through his hair and you crossed your arms. “What’s so funny ?” You cocked an eyebrow at him and instantly uncrossed your arms when you realized you were picking up on Nam-gyu’s mannerisms.
“I’m not stupid.” He looked angry and that kind of turned you on. You desperately wanted his attention and now you were finally getting just that.
You looked at the nails on one of your hands, “That’s debatable.”
He grunted about to make a retort but the line began moving so you turned around and walked forward making conversation with the woman in front of you. You knew if you wanted to have the upper hand in this situation you had to treat Myung-gi like he was just another person to you, a stranger almost.
She introduced herself as Player 196 and so you did the same. You were surprised how nice she was to you, typically girls that pretty bullied you in high school but you had to remind yourself you’re an adult in the real world now.
“I like how you styled your outfit.” You complimented, she smiled, her hand covering her mouth. “You’re so sweet, it’s really nothing I just tied the front of my shirt,” She rolled her eyes, “It’s something I used to do when I was younger, but thank you.”
You felt yourself smiling, finally talking to someone that wasn’t a man. They say woman are full of drama but my gohd men are no better.
The green wicket gate in front of you had to be at least 20 feet tall. You watched in awe as they opened, the area completely empty except for an electronic doll that stood 50 feet in front of you.
When everyone made it through, the gate closed with a loud thud. Player 196 walked off with Thanos who was trying his best to serenade her with one of his raps. You pursed your lips trying not to laugh and caught a glimpse of Nam-gyu going the opposite direction from them, cringing.
Myung-gi grabbed your wrist pulling you through the crowd to the front, stopping a couple of feet in front of the white line on the ground. You glared at him and yanked your hand away, rubbing your wrist.
Out of nowhere a man in his mid 40’s ran to the front, standing just before the white line. “Everybody listen !” He waved his hands around like he was trying to signal a helicopter to his location.
“Aish, what the fuck is this ?” You heard Myung-gi groan.
“This is not just a game !” He was practically yelling at the top of his lungs, “If they see you moving during ‘red light, green light’ they will shoot you !”
“You’re saying we’re going to die playing a child’s game ?” A woman in the crowd snide and everyone laughed.
The doll turned around, “And with that let the games began.” The speaker spoke.
“He’s just trying to sike us out, but we can’t be too careful… stay behind me.” Myung-gi whispered as the doll sang a tune.
You guys moved forward, you reluctantly staying behind him because even if the man was lying he still managed to freak you out.
For the first two minutes everyone did good, no one was caught moving; until you saw Player 196 shriek and jump around, as if a bug had landed on her.
After a few seconds you released the breathe you had been holding in, ‘I guess he was lying…’ You thought.
Suddenly a loud cracking sound rang out and then you watched as a bullet went through Player 196’s forehead before her body went crashing to the floor. You flinched, your shaky hands clutching onto the back of Myung-gi’s jacket.
It seemed like everyone was paralyzed in fear until the doll turned back around. The man from earlier told people to line up behind someone to avoid getting seen and we all quickly formed into lines of 10 to 15 people each.
The doll faced the crowd again and someone to your right got shot. People began freaking out and running back towards the doors. Your chest rose and deflated quickly as you heard gun shots ring out all around you.
Your eyes began to tear up, making your vision blurry. When you heard the whirring of the doll turning around you quickly wiped them away and slapped yourself as you exhaled.
“Okay… okay… I got this…”
You and Myung-gi were only 10 feet from the finish line, he reached a hand behind him and you held it. He squeezed it and you returned the favor, giving each other support.
You both managed to get to the finish line, sparing a good 30 seconds. You saw Thanos do a little dance near the tree when he crossed, like he just scored a winning touchdown.
Myung-gi’s facial expression was one of disgust and confusion as he watched Thanos celebrate, which would have made you laugh if your whole body wasn’t trembling of fear.
“What the fuck is wrong with him ?” He said more to himself than anyone else.
“I don’t k-know.” You said, hugging his side so your legs don’t give out beneath you.
His arm wrapped around you as he caressed your back. At this time you could give a shit if Myung-gi was paying any mind to him. You guys were in a life or death game and whether you like it or not, this changes everything now.
You Got It
Bada Lee x Reader
Synopsis:
Reader can’t dance, but goes to Bada Lee’s dance class and instead of learning how to dance, falls for Ms Bada Lee… literally.
You don’t know how to dance.
It’s possible that you may be the least coordinated person on the planet. You can barely walk without tripping on your own two feet. So when your best friend that you’ve known your entire life, Gigi, asks you to come to a dance class with her, you laugh at her ridiculous request.
“Don’t be stupid, Gi. You know I can’t dance, that’s so embarrassing,” your face reddens at the mere thought of dancing in front of other people.
You would think that, as your best friend, she of all people should know that you’re the last person to bring to a dance class… but apparently not. “Please y/n! This is Bada Lee’s class and her classes always sell out!”
You have a slight idea who Bada Lee is, purely due to the obsession your best friend has with her choreographies and the extensive hours you’ve spent, some may say unwillingly, watching her dance videos and tiktoks due to Gigi.
“Come on y/n,” she whines, “we’re not going to be in Korea forever, this could be an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!”
You watch the way Gigi falls to her knees, begging you with her puppy dog eyes, and you can’t help but groan out an, “oh my god, when is it?”
“At 5…,” she trails off while tightening her lips, “…today.”
“No. No way.”
You find yourself standing outside a building with an excited Gigi, who is barely able to contain herself.
JustJerk Dance Academy
The massive sign is almost teasing you and your lack of skills on the dance floor. Your stomach is sinking the more you look at it in disbelief, not able to recall how Gigi managed to drag you to the dance class.
“I think I’m going to be sick,” you slap your hand to your mouth. Out of the corner of your eye, you see Gigi rolls her eyes as she grabs your wrist and drags you inside with a small, “you’re so dramatic.”
When you enter the building you can hear faint music coming behind the door that has a smaller sign of the dance academy. You honestly felt like at this point the entire world was making fun of the fact that you can’t dance.
You’re far too in your own head, trying to come up with ways to get out of this, to realise that you and Gigi have made it past the receptionist and into the actual studio. The first thing you notice is how busy the studio seems. There are people dancing, others getting ready to dance, and others who are just talking amongst themselves.
“I want to die,” you think to yourself as you and Gigi make your way to the back of the studio.
A tugging on your sleeve interrupts your wishes for death as Gigi whispers excitedly, “there she is! There’s Bada!”
Your eyes follow the direction of her head nod, landing on a woman with two-coloured hair under a bucket hat, who is dressed tomboyish but trendy. She’s talking to a guy, who is dressed in all black, but her aura dominates the studio. Even if you didn’t have a single clue who Bada was, you’d easily assume that she was the leader of this dance class.
She’s extremely attractive. The way she holds herself and her appearance can only really be described as handsome, but you weren’t exactly sure why you couldn’t seem to take your eyes off her.
The music started to fade away and Bada started to speak in Korean. “Now would be a really good time to know Korean,” you let out a sigh before turning to Gigi to see what the dancer had said.
“She’s going to show the choreography we’re going to learn first and then she’ll teach us the moves.”
“Great,” you whisper back. You actually wanted to disappear from the world at the thought of dancing, praying to any higher power that no one pays attention to you and that you stay on your feet the whole time.
As the crowd separates, Bada and four guys enter the centre and music starts playing. You recognise it to be You Got It by Vedo, a song that you quite vibed with.
Your mouth immediately drops as you watch Bada dance, barely paying attention to the guys behind her.
It’s as if a wave of hypnosis had come over you because your entire being was set on the dancing woman in front of you and you couldn’t focus on anything else in the studio. Your body was in shock and your mind drew a blank, you were literally malfunctioning.
When the guys left and Bada danced alone, you felt your heart skip a beat… or two. And that was just from watching her dance. Before you completely lost function of your own body, you wiped your mouth and closed it before you started drooling all over the floor.
“How the fuck am I supposed to do that?”
Gigi let out a chuckle, shaking her head. “I’m sure you’ll be fine y/n.”
…
It was safe to say that you were not fine.
The moves were too advanced for you to follow along, and the class was progressing to quickly as well. However, while you were struggling to barely keep up, Gigi was having the time of her life.
You decided that you deserved a little break and sat against the back wall, gulping down water like your life depended on it (which it very much felt like it did) while mentally cursing Gigi and her future bloodline.
Being so deep in your thoughts of hating on your best friend for making you go through modern torture, you didn’t notice a foreign presence sit down next to you.
“Are you okay?”
An accented voice pulls you to reality. You turn your head to see the one person you didn’t want to notice you this whole time.
“Oh fuck me.”
Bada Lee was staring at you with a soft smile, her head slightly tilted as if she were interested in you and your presence in her class. And that’s exactly what she was. Interested.
As soon as you had stepped foot into her studio, she couldn’t help but notice you. You were the only foreigner in her class. She also couldn’t help but notice how you made a beeline to the back of the studio, nor could she ignore the way you were mesmerised with her dancing.
When she started teaching the choreography, she spared glances to you, possible due to her height that towered many of the dancers there.
She saw you struggling to keep up and how clueless you looked whenever a dance move was introduced, and how you would laugh at every mistake you made (and you made a lot). Bada thought you were cute in a clueless way, almost seeing you as a challenge as there isn’t one person she hasn’t been able to teach dancing.
Maybe that’s why she found herself looking at you more than the other dancers in her class, or why she found herself making her way to you when she noticed you were on the floor.
You were a challenge.
And maybe that’s why she offered to teach you the choreography 1-on-1 in a different room. No other reason…
“Oh I can’t dance,” you chuckle as Bada lifts herself off the ground.
“We can change that,” she smirks at you with a mischievous look in her eye, reaching out a hand that you hesitantly take, being pulled up with ease.
You follow her out of the studio and into a different one across the hall, where it was just the two of you. As you looked around the room awkwardly, avoiding any chance of eye contact with Bada, she couldn’t take her eyes off you. The dancer had previously been interested in a few people in her lifetime, but they were all different from you.
Korean and confident in a dance studio.
Two things you weren’t. Yet, Bada couldn’t help but feel some sort of pull to you that she couldn’t explain. So she kept telling herself that it’s simply because you can’t dance, and she’s such a talented dancer herself that she can help anyone. Even someone as uncoordinated as you.
“Let’s just begin from the very start, yeah?” Bada smiles, looking at you through the mirror.
You finally make eye contact with her, adding a shy smile of your own, “okay.”
The next twenty minutes was spent with Bada teaching you the choreography very patiently. As you messed up, she assured you that you’re fine and simply helped you with what you couldn’t do. However, you didn’t know how but Bada had ended up behind you with her hands on you correcting your form. You could feel her warm breath on your neck, in the mirror you could she was bent down a little and you weren’t short yourself but Bada still held a good bit of height on you.
Feeling the dancer’s front against your back, your mind started racing with a million thoughts per second. “Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god.”
As you tried to do a move with foot work, the universe was simply not on your side as the next thing you know you’re tripping over thin air and closing your eyes, letting out a yelp as you feel an impact with the hard ground. You groan a bit as slight pain rushes through your back, but it’s nothing compared to when you opened your eyes to find Bada right on top of you. Clumsy you of course managed to not only trip yourself on nothing, but you also tripped Bada.
If you thought she was close to you before, that was nothing compared to her proximity to you now. Your eyes widen and your cheeks redden as you stare into her eyes, and she stares into yours. Your noses gently brush each others as you slightly tilt your head, and your breaths mix, enveloping each other.
“You weren’t lying when you said you can’t dance,” Bada let’s out a small chuckle, still holding herself slightly above you.
Your pretty sure your face is comparable to a tomato now and you laugh, “no, no I wasn’t lying.”
The synergy between you two are engulfing the entire studio as you both don’t move from your intimate position. Questions of the unknown run through both of your minds, as temptation of wading through these uncharted waters flow through your hearts.
It seems like an eternity before Bada speaks up charmingly, her eyes darting between your eyes and your lips, “maybe you can give me your number… for you know, more dance lessons?”
With red cheeks and glistening eyes, you smile shyly.
“You got it.”
