En compañía de amigos o desconocidos, Gerald es reservado pero educado, ganándose la confianza de los demás con su paciencia y disposición para escuchar. Sin embargo, bajo presión, puede mostrar una vena obstinada, especialmente cuando siente que lo están controlando o subestimando. A menudo lucha con la necesidad de equilibrar su deseo de independencia con el sentimiento de culpa que le produce alejarse de su familia.

Independencia y partida de casa

Tras años de vivir bajo la sobreprotección de Chris, Gerald decidió que era hora de dar un paso hacia la independencia. Una discusión particularmente intensa con su madre acerca de sus planes de mudarse precipitó su decisión. Aunque Ginny intentó mediar, Gerald ya había tomado la determinación de buscar su propio camino. Su objetivo era encontrar un lugar tranquilo para enfocarse en sus estudios y disfrutar de la libertad que sentía necesaria como un joven adulto.

Antes de establecerse, un amigo cercano, le pidió que lo acompañara a un campamento de verano que había abierto recientemente, Gerald aceptó llevarlo hasta allá, después de todo, aquel sitio quedaba de pasada a su destino original, así que no perdía mucho en hacer un simple favor, ¿verdad?.

En el campamento

El viaje no salió según lo planeado: el auto de Gerald sufrió una avería en el camino, lo que los obligó a desviarse y quedarse temporalmente en el campamento. Su amigo lo llevó con el consejero principal y dueño del sitio como tal, Alan Hardy, este le prometió volver pronto con una llanta de repuesto a cambio de que ayudara con los niños lo cual Gerald acepto, incluso todo ese día se le hizo divertido, llego al punto de pensar quedarse todo el verano a respirar el aire puro de la naturaleza.

Pensaba hablar con Alan una vez que este volviera, pero nunca regresó. Gerald, sin opciones inmediatas, decidió esperar mientras exploraba el campamento, escuchando por primera vez la leyenda de Jason voorhees y el antiguo campamento Cristal lake, el cual ahora se encontraba abandonado por completo, ningún Alma se atrevía a pisar ahí, en cuanto a Jason, quien sabe si siga ahí.

Conforme pasaban los días, las cosas comenzaron a tornarse inquietantes. Encontró pertenencias abandonadas que parecían llevar días ahí, notó movimientos extraños en el bosque cercano y sintió una presencia que lo vigilaba constantemente. Aunque intentaba mantener la calma, la ausencia de Alan y los eventos inexplicables comenzaron a erosionar su tranquilidad.

Aislado, sin poder contactar a sus madres ni a nadie más, Gerald empezó a cuestionarse si su decisión de buscar independencia había sido un error. Ahora debía enfrentarse a sus propios miedos, no solo los internos, sino también los que acechaban en los oscuros rincones de Crystal Lake.
