How to clock a lot of kms/miles/steps when you are walking?
Pick something you want to see/photograph and go on a hunt.
I had photograph Gillie and Marc âThey Were on a Wild Ride to a Safer Place with Rabbitwoman and Dogmanâ sculpture when it was by Tower bridge and wanted to see it near the Oculus in New York but unfortunately it was dismantled just before my trip. As I was researching some of their other sculptures I realized there were currently a few in London so I went on a wild goose hunt.

The World's Largest Octopus Sculpture Has Landed In NYC! And Itâs Brought Along Some Friends.
â Written By Molly Dubens, TimeOut Contributor | Monday July 22 2024
Photograph: Eugene Krasnaok, Gillie and Marc
Itâs Time To Oc-Topi Wall Street! Gillie and Marc, the renowned artistic duo known for a number of larger-than-life wildlife sculptures, are exhibiting an array of animal sculptures outside the World Trade Center, including the worldâs largest octopus sculpture!
The exhibition named âWildlife Wondersâ includes three interactive bronze works from other pieces that feature their main two iconic characters, Rabbitwomen and Dogman, as well as sculptures of a range of endangered species. The spotlight, however, is on the giant octopus, which spans a whopping 36 feet and weighs around 7 tons. Woven throughout the animalâs eight tentacles are numerous endangered species, like rhinos and zebras.
Photograph: Eugene Krasnaok, Gillie and Marc
It will be on display on the South Oculus Plaza from July 16, 2024, through July 31, 2025.
The creative pair are known for their celebration of wildlife conservation, where they prove that art can inspire positive change. While their sculptures are first and foremost to raise awareness about conservation they also welcome a playful response with their interactive qualities.
Photograph: Eugene Krasnaok, Gillie and Marc
âIn the last 50 years, wildlife populations have plummeted by 69% globally. We are now facing the worldâs sixth mass extinction,â Gillie stated. âThis crisis is beyond description, yet we remain hopeful and committed to witnessing change within our lifetimes. We trust that our art and the stories we tell can inspire people to engage in vital conversations and take meaningful action.â Their exhibitions both raise awareness and celebrate the beauty of wildlife.
Photograph: Eugene Krasnaok, Gillie and Marc
Along with the main piece âThe Arms of Friendship,â the two others are titled âThe Wild Table of Loveâ and âThe Hippo Was Hungry To Try New Things With Rabbitwoman.â The former is a banquet scene with a bronze table set for both humans and animals. Like the tentacles, the sculpture welcomes you to sit and invites the viewer to join in on the festivities. All these whimsical scenes are made to put a playful spin on the discussion of wildlife conservation.
Go check out these wondrous sculptures and remind yourself of the whimsy and awe of wildlife, maybe even sit on a tentacle or two.

FASHION CREDITS: LADY GAGA BY ETHAN JAMES GREEN FOR VOGUE US OCTOBER ISSUE
I was highly expecting for Lady Gaga to land a Vogue cover and here we are, covering the October issue of the American Vogue. The photoshoot, which is highly inspired by her role as Harley Quinn in "Joker: Folie Ă Deux", was lensed by Ethan James Green.
Styling: Alex Harrington, makeup: Sarah Tanno-Stewart, hair: Frederic Aspiras, nails: Kim Truong using Glitterbels, tailors: Hailey Desjardins and Egle Paulauskaite, set design: Marla Weinhoff.
Photographed during her stay in Paris in July this year, the cover photo showcases Gaga in the blue embroidered trompe-lâĆil synthetic hair coat made in collaboration with hairstylist Gary Gill from Balenciagaâs 53rd Fall/Winter 2024 Haute Couture collection!
An iconic silhouette by now, Gaga rocks a pair of her favorite Marc Jacobs Fall/Winter 2016 Kiki buckled black leather platform boots!
The mixture of couture, high-end designers and emerging talent is immense in this editorial as Gaga wears the grunge-inspired Hodakova Fall/Winter 2024 argyle double knit sweater in this hauntingly beautiful shot.
Hyperventilating is an UNDERSTATEMENT. I fell in love the moment John Galliano sent out his girls down the dramatic runway and ever since I was hoping to catch Gaga in one of the designs. Never wouldâve thought sheâd even get a whole custom look!
Gaga poses in custom Maison Margiela Spring/Summer 2024 Artisanal Haute Couture.
White cotton caisetted cape cut with the memory of an ulster coat, worn over a patinaed knitted silk bodysuit matching Gagaâs skin tone underpinned by a corset covered in jersey and a silicone hip prothĂšse.
A taped reverse swatching hat in white foam and caisetted cotton, patinaed knitted silk stockings and gloves, and custom Christian Louboutin for Margiela white patent leather criss-cross platform pumps with torn stocking overlay.
One thing you should know about Gaga is that she loves to layer multiple runway pieces to merge a whole new look.
From Diorâs Resort 2025 collection, a love letter to Scotland, she wore a knitted argyle sweater with cut-outs, a tartan wool maxi dress which she layered underneath a mesh and metallic lace dress, and some argyle socks.
The Hodakova sweater makes a return, this time accessorized with an antique hand-painted plaque, ruby and diamond in 18kt gold brooch, and a smoky quartz and pearl in 18k gold brooch, both from Tony Duquette!
A shoe that changed herstory. Vivienne Westwoodâs infamous Fall/Winter 1993 Super Elevated Gillie platform shoes make a return, acquired from Pechuga Vintage. You might remember Gaga wearing a boot version of these for her 2010 Elle spread!
A firework of excitement ransacked my body when I first found out that Alessandro Michele would depart from Gucci to head over to Valentino as the new creative director.
LG is, to my knowledge, the first celebrity to rock a piece from the Resort 2025 "Avant Les Debuts" (Before the Beginning) collection â a pale yellow chiffon mini dress with high collar, tiered ruffle puff sleeves and floral sequin embroidery all over!
Paired with custom Maison Margiela distressed stockings and custom Christian Louboutin platform heels.
Gaga is working it in a bi-colored statuesque coat seen on Yohji Yamamotoâs Fall/Winter 2024 "A Seamless Parable on Cubism" runway.
Rather than canvas and paint, Yamamotoâs medium is fabric and more than ever, it felt like he let his instinctual side take the wheel. Case in point: He said he couldnât talk about how heâd arrived at these silhouettes. "During fittings, I can change, I can touch", he said with finality.
The look was crowned with a custom Vivienne Bow hat made of voluminous moiré fabric by emerging designer Andrew James!
One of the "Antwerp Six" designers, Dries Van Noten bid farewell earlier this Summer and decided to leave the fashion scene with a bang by celebrating his legacy at his final Spring/Summer 2025 collection where this epic embroidered cashmere coat is from.
Both her plaque-embellished black beanie...
...and double-breasted boxy oversized coat with peaked lapel are from The Row's Resort 2025 lookbook!
Gaga is the first ever person to wear this vintage Givenchy by Alexander McQueen Fall/Winter 1999 "Execution of Lady Jane Grey" Haute Couture chinoiserie embroidered silk balloon sleeve coat and bespoke black dress, both sourced from LILY et Cie.
In 1999, McQueen was going through, in his own words, "an emotional turmoil" both professionally and personally. But instead of relieving himself, he ventured into his own despair to understand his inner demons more poignantly. This painful journey led Lee to Paul Delarocheâs tragic but beautiful 1833 painting, "The Execution of Lady Jane Grey".
Like a painter to a blank canvas, McQueen filled an empty room with extravagant offerings: romantic silk ensembles with floral embroidery, 16th-century fur-trimmed tunics, luxurious velvet coats, as well as the designerâs signature leather suits, cowl-neck dresses, and even a heightened-for-couture bouffant piece that paid homage to his plaid.
Dialing in on his inspiration, McQueen presented his clothes not on models but on fiber-glass-headed mannequins that emerged from trap doors in batches, as if the audience were in an art gallery rather than a fashion show.
It's almost unrecognizable but Gaga is draping this Chanel Fall/Winter 2024 Haute Couture black silk taffeta opera coat around her torso. This piece, which served as the show's opening number, features a ruffled neck, bejeweled buttons and a voluminous cut.

Some of my favorite animal sculptures...
1. Charging Bull by Arturo di Modica, 1989
This bronze sculpture of a charging bull was left by the Italian-American artist Arturo di Modica outside the New York Stock Exchange in 1989 to inspire people to never give up.
2. The Last Three by Gillie and Marc Schattner, 2019
This 17-foot bronze sculpture in Brooklyn depicts three northern white rhinos piled on top of one another, created by Australian artists Gillie and Marc Schattner to bring awareness to the plight of the white rhinos.
3. Lions by Edward Kemeys, late 19th century
Two bronze lion statues have guarded the entrance to the Art Institute of Chicago since the late 19th century, crafted by Edward Kemeys, considered America's first animalier known for realistic animal portrayals.
4. Cattle Drive Sculptures by Robert Summers, 1998
This collection of sculptures by Robert Summers depicts three bronze cowboys on horseback setting the pace for 40 bronze steers suspended in motion, showcasing the Texas custom of cattle herding.
5. Jaguar Devouring a Hare by Antoine-Louis Barye, 1850
This sculpture by Antoine-Louis Barye juxtaposes the jaguar's formidable, broad muscular structure with the panicked hare's nuanced, languid figure, currently housed at the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore.
6. Grandfather Cuts Loose the Ponies by David Govedare
This installation of 15 enormous steel sculptures in Quincy, Washington, showcases a vision of wild horses rushing across a hill above the Columbia River.
