“”. A woman stepped out of the drift, tall and handsome, with dark eyes and darker hair. Her clothes were brightly dyed, cloaked in the myriad of autumn, a sharp contrast to the demure blues and grays of Artoria’s own wardrobe. Glass beads adorned both her neck and her wrists, trapped the outside sunlight and carried its reflection inside with her.
Once recovered from her surprise, Artoria spoke: “Greetings, Vivian. I appreciate your haste.” “”
Vivian from the fanfic We Three Kings
Written by nothing_is_beautiful_and_true
Plot : While her knights are out questing for the Holy Grail, Artoria stumbles across two gifts left behind by Merlin. If only she could figure out how to return them.

# AHS Giltria
Artoria’s heart raced as she fled through the darkened halls of the mansion, the oppressive weight of despair closing in around her. In her frantic mind, she believed that Gilgamesh was pursuing her with deadly intent, poised to confine her within this wretched place forever. Yet, unbeknownst to her, his intentions were the opposite of what she feared. Gilgamesh understood the truth that eluded her: Artoria was already dead, a soul trapped in the haunting echoes of her past. He feared that her desire to escape would force her to confront the grim reality of her existence—an acknowledgment of the death she had not yet grasped. He had wanted nothing more than to shield her from that unbearable horror.
The candlelight flickered, casting distorted shadows across the basement walls, where Artoria now stood, barely breathing as she stared down at the limp, motionless form lying across the cold floor. The corpse’s face, pale and smeared with remnants of dried blood, was unmistakably her own. Her breath caught in her throat, her knees threatening to buckle. This… this had to be a nightmare.
“No… This can’t be.” Her voice was no more than a whisper, trembling with disbelief.
But Gilgamesh, watching her from the edge of the room, held no such doubts. His gaze was somber, his crimson eyes dimmed as though all the life, the fire, had drained from him. Slowly, he stepped forward, his every movement measured, like a predator easing toward a wounded creature, afraid it might shatter if he drew too close. Gently, he reached for her, guiding her away from the grotesque sight.
“Artoria,” he murmured, pulling her into his arms as she trembled, barely able to look at him. “You were never meant to find this. You were meant to be with me, not… here.”
“But—” Her mind twisted, replaying fragments of memories she barely recognized: fragments of her last moments, hazy and disjointed. She had been so haunted by the victims he had taken, tormented by the things she’d learned about his past, yet… she had stayed. She had wanted to believe, to hope, to forgive. But it hadn’t been enough. The weight of the guilt had pulled her down, swallowed her whole, and now she was nothing more than a ghost, just another soul bound to the walls of this cursed house. “You… you hid this from me?”
“I wanted to spare you,” Gilgamesh answered, his tone heavy with uncharacteristic vulnerability. “I thought I could keep you here, without you ever realizing.” His arms tightened around her, almost possessive, as though holding her now might keep her from slipping away. “Stay with me. Nothing else matters. Not them, not their worthless lives. Only us.”
She wanted to pull away, to scream, but his hold was unyielding, his voice weaving into her, wrapping around her fractured soul. In that embrace, something in her steadied, her breathing slowed, and before she knew it, the overwhelming shock and grief lulled her into an exhausted, dreamless sleep.
When she awoke, he was gone.
Gilgamesh’s figure cut sharply through the midnight shadows as he descended to the heart of the mansion, where the true darkness of the curse resided—a presence that pulsed and whispered like an ancient heart, deep beneath the floorboards, binding every soul that had ever been caught in its web. A low growl rumbled in his throat as he came face to face with it, his voice echoing through the void.
“I demand a trade,” he snarled. “Her soul for mine. You know what I am—you know what I possess. My power, all of it, in exchange for her life.”
The darkness hesitated, twisting in faint mockery as it sensed his desperation. “And why should I accept? You are worth a hundred of her kind.”
“Then take it,” Gilgamesh’s voice was fierce, defiant, laced with a dark certainty. “I am the price you want. Consume me and release her.”
A silence fell, the air thick with anticipation, as though the darkness was savoring the bargain, relishing the taste of his final surrender. Then, with a surge of energy, it coiled around him, drawing the life, the fire, from his veins, stripping him to his core.
As the last of his strength left him, his vision faded to black, and all that remained was the certainty that Artoria would live, untouched by the curse, free to see the world beyond the walls that had imprisoned them both.
Days passed, and for the first time, Artoria stood alone at the mansion’s gate, finally able to step beyond its boundary. The sun was rising, casting a pale light over the twisted ruins of the garden. She looked back, her heart aching, but she knew this was her path now. Gilgamesh had sacrificed everything to grant her a second chance, a life unburdened by the ghosts and darkness that haunted the mansion. And so, with a final, lingering glance, she walked forward, the faintest hint of a smile tugging at her lips, vowing to honor him with a life dedicated to justice. She would become a detective, a force against the darkness he had once wielded.
From a window above, Merlin watched her vanish into the morning light. He sighed, his gaze lingering with a wistful sadness.
“So, you let her go, then?” he asked, turning to the figure who had appeared at his side, his form as immaterial as smoke yet unmistakably Gilgamesh. “After everything you’ve done… and survived?”
Gilgamesh’s expression was unreadable, his eyes fixed on the path where Artoria had disappeared. “Let her live the life she deserves,” he replied, his voice a low murmur. “I’ve waited eons. A few mortal years mean nothing. She will return to me one day… of her own choosing. This was her second chance, and it was the only gift worth giving.”
Merlin hesitated, studying the hollow, possessive gleam in Gilgamesh’s eyes. He had always been wary of the boy, uncertain of the depths of his twisted devotion, yet there was a strange sincerity in his words now, as though some last shred of humanity had surfaced in the ultimate sacrifice.
“Perhaps,” Merlin said, a faint smile tugging at his lips. “I never liked you, Gilgamesh, but for her sake… thank you.”
Gilgamesh merely turned, his form beginning to fade into the shadows of the house. “One day, she’ll find her way back here,” he murmured, his voice almost lost to the void. “And then, Merlin… she and I will be bound together, as it was always meant to be.”
With that, he was gone, leaving Merlin alone in the empty room, a faint, sorrowful echo lingering in the mansion as the souls of the dead, finally at peace, began to fade away, one by one.

And on AO3
Tumblr media
A/N: For the @fatezerozine! I could resist putting a little Lancer/Saber and Iri/Saber here, because they broke my heart in the series.

Artoria always believed in facing her mistakes head-on, in confronting and correcting them. Yet, staring at the angry, broken shell of a man she’d once called Lancelot, she didn’t know how to respond. Standing on the docks, she lowered her sword, her grip slack. “Lancelot?”
He roared, enraged and full of pain. It was the sound of Camelot crashing down, of all of her sins accumulating into a single person.  Artoria had always known her rule had been a mistake but this only confirmed it. This angry demon was nothing like the kind knight she’d known.
It was all her fault. She clenched her hand tightly and bowed her head. “Forgive me.”
That only made him angrier. She flinched as he took a step forward and roared once more. However, before he could make another move, he dematerialized, no doubt called back by his master. Artoria stared at the particles that once made the berserker, at the choppy waters now visible from behind where he’d stood. In the night, the waters were chaotic and unruly.
Closing her eyes, she sighed. “I suppose there’s no way you could.”
There was a soft tap behind her as Kiritsugu landed on the concrete. Turning around, she found he was already packed up, his rifle safely tucked away in its case. His long trench coat rustled in the wind as he started walking to his car. “We’re going.”
As usual, he didn’t ask for her input, but she wasn’t in the mood to argue. Not when she could still hear Lancelot’s roars in her ears. It took her back to when Guinevere had confessed her affair, to when her knights had left her side. To Mordred’s battle cry as they fought and Tristan’s cries as Camelot splintered.
The king doesn’t understand the hearts of men.
No, she didn’t. Maybe she never had. Maybe her rule had been doomed from the start. What sort of king didn’t know his own subjects? Her hand clenched into a fist. “Can I even atone that?”
Artoria hadn’t meant to say any of that aloud. Quickly, she glanced at Kiritsugu, but he didn’t say anything. Perhaps he hadn’t heard or, more likely, didn’t care, Sometimes, when she looked at him, she could see just what her people had seen in her: a heartless leader.
It was no wonder they’d all rebelled. They would have been better off without her.
When they reached the car, Kiritsugu opened the passenger door but didn’t slip inside. When she stared at him curiously over the car’s roof, he muttered, “Some things can never be forgiven.”
She gazed at him blankly before realizing he was replying to her earlier words. “You…”
“Some sins are too big.” His eyes were on her now, cold as ice. “You just have to live with it.”
Artoria clenched her teeth as he slipped in the car, hating the truth ringing in his words.

“Forgiveness?” Gilgamesh snorted elegantly, raising a perfectly groomed eyebrow as he looked at her over the top of his goblet. When she didn’t say anything, just glared at him, he threw his head back and laughed. “You really have the strangest ideas of what a ‘king’ is.”
“What?” Artoria retorted, trying and failing to keep her temper down. She had no idea why she continued to meet the other two kings in the Einzbern castle. The silvery flowers around them glowed softly in the moonlight, the golden goblets filled with a fragrant aroma of a ruby red wine, and every part of this scene was ruined by the two Servants sitting across from her.
Semi-serious now, Gilgamesh swirled his drink before taking a refined sip. “That word doesn’t exist for a ruler.”
Iskandar guffawed heartily, reaching over to pat her on the shoulder. With his strength, it took all of her concentration to make sure she didn’t fall over. “A leader leads! The others follow—what is there to forgive or regret?”
“Even the oaf understands it,” Gilgamesh added, giving Iskandar a dismissive look.
Disgruntled, Artoria looked down into her goblet. Her reflection trembled in the dark wine. These two should never have led anything, let alone entire countries, but she couldn’t deny she was drawn to their confidence. If she had that arrogance, perhaps Camelot wouldn’t have fallen.
Gawain had exuded the same sort of charisma and he’d often been surrounded by knights and peasants alike. He had known the hearts of men. He had seen her people, talked to them, and been welcomed by them.
She couldn’t say the same for herself. For all her subjects’ words of loyalty, she had only ever been followed from a distance.
And from a distance, they watched her die.
Artoria gripped her goblet. “And if your subjects are harmed by your actions?”
“So?” Gilgamesh curled his lips. “What of it? If they don’t like it, they can try to steal my power.”
Iskandar gulped down his goblet and slammed it down. Wiping his mouth, he leaned forward and smirked. “Ohh? That sounds fun.”
Gilgamesh eyed him. “You could provide maybe a few minutes of distraction.”
Or maybe Camelot would have collapsed even earlier if these two had led it. Artoria ignored them, taking a sip of wine. It had been foolish of her to have expected anything else from them; these kings had never once thought of their people.
Regret was for kings who cared, and she doubted they’d ever done that.

“Forgiveness?” Under the silver moonlight, Irisviel looked absolutely ethereal. She tore her eyes away from the stars to look at Artoria, puzzled. “What do you mean?”
Artoria glanced at the sake bottle that sat between them, at the two cups they’d spent the past half hour drinking from. She wasn’t sure why she’d agreed to these moon-watching sessions. The compound was big, Irisviel vulnerable, and if Kiritsugu wasn’t willing to protect his wife, then she had to. Yet, it was impossible to say no when Irisviel asked her to join in. Impossible to stay far away when a soft hand tugged her down to sit.
“I…” Artoria peeked up. Irisviel smiled kindly. Blaming it on the alcohol, she pushed on, “If you make a terrible mistake…is it possible to be forgiven?”
“Yes,” Irisviel answered immediately, no hesitation at all in her voice.
Not expecting such a quick answer, Artoria resisted the urge to gape. “I am talking about a terrible crime, one that has harmed many innocents.”
Firmly, Irisviel repeated, “Yes.”
“That’s…” Artoria didn’t even know how to respond to such determination. “Why?”
Irisviel rested her hand on Artoria’s. “Do you regret it?”
“Yes.”
She interlaced their fingers. “Do you want to fix it?”
Artoria closed her eyes wearily. “Yes.”
Irisviel smiled broadly now. “Then yes, you can be forgiven.” Sensing Artoria wasn’t convinced, she giggled. “You and my husband are exactly the same. Neither of you believe me, but everyone deserves a chance to atone and be forgiven.”
Part of her rankled at the comparison. Pushing past it, Artoria asked softly, “Aren’t some crimes too big for that?”
“Some can feel that way.” Irisviel looked up at the full moon. No doubt she was thinking of Kiritsugu. Her expression softened, as it always did, and Artoria wondered what it would take to convince this tender-hearted woman to leave this dangerous game. “The more blood on your hands, the more impossible it feels.”
“Then—”
“But it’s not true,” she interrupted firmly, turning back to Artoria. “All that means is that you have to atone more. There’s no such thing as too big.”
It must be nice, to have such a kind, naïve viewpoint. Artoria couldn’t remember the last time she’d thought like that. Before she’d taken on her mantle as king, maybe. In the early days when she’d just been Artoria, a wandering swordsman helping others. “No matter how much you atone, some things can’t be forgiven.”
“By others, or by yourself? You both say this exact same thing and I don’t agree. Others might never forgive you, but you still have to try for yourself.” Irisviel sighed, leaning against Artoria’s shoulder. “Then, if you won’t allow yourself compassion, I hope you get kindness. I hope that one day you might forgive yourself. I hope that one day you allow yourself happiness.”
Artoria didn’t reply, content to just soak in Irisviel’s warmth. For a moment, just a moment, she wanted to live in that world Irisviel saw, however improbable it was.
-x-
“Forgiveness?” Diarmuid cocked his head, considering the question. No doubt he hadn’t expected her to ask such a thing when he’d arrived for the strategy meeting to take down Caster, but there were few chances for them to interact alone as it was.
Which was a pity, to be honest. Diarmuid was the most reasonable of all the servants and in another time, maybe they could have enjoyed each other’s company. For now, she would make do with his advice. Rubbing her wrist, Artoria nodded. “Yes. Considering all that happened, do you forgive your lord?”
He leaned against the half-forgotten dojo on her master’s land, his eyes trained on the bright blue sky. “It is not my place to forgive my lord.” He chuckled softly. “If anything, it is I who must beg for forgiveness.”
“You were protecting someone,” Artoria pointed out, keeping her gaze on him steady. “Your lord punished you far beyond your crime.”
Diarmuid gave her a sad smile. “Yet he was still my lord. We had a convent, which I broke.” He paused, before lowering his eyes. “Even now, I do not know if my choice was the right one, only that I couldn’t say no.”
He reminded her of her knights, of a chivalry she had feared never existed. If he had been in Camelot, would he have forgiven her? Would he agree with her wish now or tell her to turn from it? “I…is there anything that you wouldn’t have forgiven your lord for?”
Diarmuid stood straight now. “There are things I would have disagreed with, but forgiveness has never been part of that question.” His eyes met hers, and she felt the faint tug of his curse before her abilities nullified it entirely. “The same goes for your people, I am certain.”
“That can’t possibly be true.” Artoria looked away. Despite the knowledge the grail gave, there was no way he could know the hatred in her knights’ eyes. “If your lord, if I harmed thousands—”
“You have not done that,” Diarmuid interrupted, stepping forward. “We have only spoken a handful of times, and that is enough for me to know you are honourable. Your people must surely see that too.”
“Honourable…” That wasn’t enough. Her kingdom still fell, despite her honour. Still, she had missed those words, after dealing with egotistical kings and cold masters.
I hope you get kindness.
Irisviel’s words echoed in her head and Artoria smiled, offering Diarmuid the forgiveness she couldn’t take. “I would have made a place for you at my table.”
His eyes widened in surprise before he smiled lopsidedly.
-x-
Forgiveness?
Artoria had been naïve to ever ask such a question. Standing in front of the Holy Grail, her sword raised high, she scoffed at the idea of it all. Atonement didn’t abate Lancelot’s rage. Forgiveness wouldn’t alter the fact that she had betrayed Diarmuid. And there was no way to change Irisviel’s death. However noble her intentions, however kind she was to herself, these truths would remain the same.
No, the only who had been right was the one forcing her to destroy the grail now. She locked eyes with Kiritsugu as she brought down her holy sword, as Excalibur ripped through the room.
There was no such thing as forgiveness for a person like her. There never had been.

Weekly Roundup: Prompts
FSN
Illya/Rin, Comedy. Illyasviel experiences her own happy ending, a well deserved story in her book after a long and straining war. (if the pairing doesnt work then any other female character like artoria works? rin is best girl)
smut, Luvia/Rin, BDSM, dirty talk. Luvia has a tendency to tease Rin, saying all sorts of obscene things to her in an attempt to humiliate her. Embarrassing Rin was becoming a normal occurrence and Luvia was set on making the best out of her favorite pastime; toying with the object of her affections. [Bdsm/light bdsm, ropes? Clocktower shenanigans]
smut, Gilgamesh/Saber, "Only I can love her in all her destruction" (aka Gilgamesh somehow travels to Camelot and manages to corrupt Saber ala her Lion King persona [but still looking like her usual self]) +There's cunnilingus under the Round Table ++If Gil treats Saber's body count as dirty talk
The Gorgon sisters tend to Medusa as her transformation into full monster groes ever closer, accepting this as well as their ultimate fate together one last time
Fate/Samurai Remnant
Iori overstimulating Saber (don't worry, they're into it)
Rogue Saber watches as Iori, Rider, and Yui disappear through a portal to join Saber. Suddenly, he feels a burst of anger and longing and tries to join them only to be too late. Comfort from other servants if the writer would like.
FGO
Chaldean staff deserve more content, they also survivor and work hard
smut, Mephistopheles uses Afterimage to gangbang virgin!reader. Bonus points for Mephistopheles having a rapid weight gain kink, and EXTRA bonus points for (this part is the most important) genderfluid Mephistopheles
You have a Mastersona? Cool! What would happen if that Mastersona had a Shirou-Archer moment? What would drive the “Archersona”? How would the Mastersona react?
smut, Raikou pegs Lancelot. You can make it hard or gentle, plot or no plot, add on whatever flavor you want.
Crossover
(my brain has never been in crossover mode before, FGO x FFXIV) Fujimaru Ritsuka summons Fray Myste, who takes one look at the Last Master of Humanity and realizes they seriously need the conscience of a Dark Knight. "Serve, Save, Slave, Slay."
Bakugou Katsuki somehow got summoned as an Avenger for dumb reasons....

My Last GilArt post
It had been real : I love Gilgamesh as a character and the original Epic of Gilgamesh and FGO babylonia chapter , and CCC secret gardens of Gilgamesh, got me through a really tough phase in Life so I am very grateful to Nasu and Gilgamesh of Fate and og irl Gilgamesh ; I also ship GilArt Cause i see genuine love on Gilgamesh's end for Saber Artoria and i find their union compatible and fateful poetic , Gilgamesh is a wise advisor to a monarch , So here's a short headcanon / fanfiction to celebrate my recovery and moving on in Life, pardon my loose/weak writing :
Archer Gilgamesh swallowed his pride and attempted courting the first and only woman he has loved ,
The woman of his not very discrete affections stood a few feet away from him , her eyes had a strong emotion in them which he assumed to be similar to his own and her gaze as always was directed to the mongrel with his faking technique , it hurt to see it but he persevered , he was a king after all , he could handle a woman's naive foolishness ,
His efforts at being politer with her and toning down his heat on other team members, taking their cause seriously well as seriously as he could concern himself with these mongrels and their struggle, and his wisdom was also given to these mongrels cause' , he was quite confident his efforts had earned some reciprocation from the blue saber, so he decided to be bolder today :
He waited for the mongrel to leave , he could swallow his pride around saber he was not ready to let a mongrel see him getting rejected
When he saw saber alone he walked towards her gave her a polite greeting : "Heading out early today King of Knights ? "
She turned her head slightly and gave a slight nod after a pause "yes , I have some matters to attend to ..." , Gilgamesh swiftly
closed the gap between , cupped her face in his right gauntlet careful to not hurt her ivory skip and placed his lips against hers tenderly in a chaste kiss , he held her that way for a few moments , when they seperated he stared in her eyes , they were bright and wide and and her face was slightly flushed in that moment he felt elation rising inside of him ,
But alas in the next moment he felt the blazing heat from her drawn sword and felt her blade against his neck , he stood still to not escalate the situation as he looked into the burning hatred in Saber's eyes
Something snapped inside him in that instant he held the tip of her blade at her neck with his gauntlet and hurled it forcefully towards the ground, turned away from the King of Knights and stormed away swiftly without looking back :
Years of longing, Years of Courting had amounted to absolutely nothing , Had he ever put this much effort into obtaining any treasure ever ,
Yes , that one time...
He had never longed this much for even Enkidu though he would never let him know that
His frustration was piling up he had to redirect his mind elsewhere immediately
Luckily he caught his younger self sitting at the library and decided his younger self is the best remedy for his adult frustrations
He sat across his younger self , his younger self spared him only a polite nod and went back to working with a magic pen artefact and writing into his tablet and flipping pages through the books he was working out with such gusto he was mildly amused , in sometime his curiosity got the better of him and he went to stand behind his younger self and trying to read what he was working out , the language was ancient sumer and also had some mathematical symbols it looked like his younger self was using a code in his writing , well he might as well try to crack it ... when he heard his younger self speak :
"Its Aristotle's take on what it means to be A God, a human and an animal or lesser life form , the younger iskander brought it up and so I am working it out cause i want to see what it means to be a God, a human and an animal" ,
"Ho .. i see you have gone through quite a few materials ... What have you understood thus far ?"
His younger self looked at him with a look he could not quite fathom :
After a long pause , " What did you feel when that reptile , snake was it ? that ate the plant you found after such a long journey ?"
Archer Gilgamesh softened, the young servant was himself but he was still just a child ,
"In that moment i felt freed from my destiny, of converting humans to god or forcing them to pray to gods and be bound to them , I finally understood what it meant to be human and found strength in my human blood and strength in my kinghood kingship and my subjects, I lost my fear of death and felt power in my kingship and my kingdom , I put faith in my dynasty to make me immortal in the truest sense , my being recorded as King of Heroes and my NPs are the testament of that "
His younger self looked at him with wide eyes so full of awe and admiration he felt his chest swell with pride for himself of course
"So adult me in that moment or later did you become a GOD ?"
Well ...
He had found the strength in his human blood , strength to fight , strength in his human limitations, his kingship and strength in his convictions ,
But he never had control on his destiny
Never .... No control on his destiny
His mind drifted back to that moment earlier with the Blue Saber and how he came here
He remembered the singularity in which his Uruk and his throne was torn down to shreds
He remembered the immortality plant in his GoB that he never consumed
He remembered ishtar and nd how she caused Enkidu's death
Ishtar a full goddes unlike him a demigod had no control of her destiny either
Neither did Ishtar's Father or anyone of the Gods of the Age of Gods : No God, No Human no animal or homunculus no divine or human construct had any control on their destiny ....
No one and nothing had a control on their destiny .....
He cleared his throat of the rising bile in him ,
"Well , of course not , but I was worshipped as a deity some dynasties down mine own "
His younger self did not seem satisfied by that (of course he was not but Gilgamesh was not about to tell a child that no one and nothing has a control on their lives that most lives were worthless to everyone even themselves and any meaning and purpose was difficult to find and practice )
But he had successfully given his life meaning and purpose when he was alive and as a heroic spirit
He had trained his mind and dedicated it to seek elegance and beautiful objects and beings and own them for himself by force if necessary , he sought pleasure too for himself but not as rampantly as his alive teenage self , yes he was being selfish taking what he like and enjoyed for himself, woth no regard for consent or harm it would do to humanity or other beings or causes , he was above everyone and what he did was the rule and they had to deal with it
That is how he gave purpose to his existence and that is how in his mind he could control his own mind hence maybe even his destiny, his purpose was to expand his own treasury and everything in existence was his to seek and enjoy: that is how he existed and felt in control
Well except for the Blue Saber ....
his trance was broken by the child's query
"Say, why did you not consume the plant of immortality when you got it the second time, would not being immortal make you closer to a godly existence or at least closer to being a GOD "
He was not going to have the conversation of no control on destiny , his penchant for violence wnd smaller humanity so he could observe and maintain his rule with iron fist or better control than widespread humanity, his seeking of pleasure and taking everything for himself just so he could feel like he is in control in his mind
Why did he not eat the plant ?
Why of course , is it not obvious , cause he wanted to die and stay dead ?
Gods ? Those gods who died screaming to human constructions ?
Demi gods who found their purpose in plundering humanity ?
Humans who kept struggling with no rational argument as to what point and purpose and what is to be seeked at the end of the tunnel
He wanted to die and stay dead
If he had a sy he would never let himself be summoned even as a HS
Having no consciousness and hence to need to seek purpose or pleasure
Is the only solution he could come up with to his pain of living
So if was going to die he wanted to stay dead and before that he would rule with all his might
And that is why he did not consume the immortality plant
Of course he would not reveal that to a child himself or not or to anyone else even his own self if he were multiple summoned per chance that was his and only his mind would know
So he returned the kid's question with :
"Why do you ask that ? Do you perhaps want to become a GOD "
"Well I wouldn't mind if I can .." the child replied shyly
Gilgamesh's eye brows rose ,
"Ho , Your reason ? "
"Well it would make me more powerful so I could be more Victorious and i get to rule wider .."
Victory ? Power ? Victory through Power ?
Archer Gilgamesh chuckled to himself ,
Well a child should learn and develop for themselves
"Yes of course there is no need for you to inhibit your pursuit for godhood just because i failed at it or did not seek it . Seeking ones desire is the only way for one to live "
This seems to have drowned whatever doubts his younger self was having as after a slight nod with glowing eyes and flushed cheeks his younger self returned to his study with increased fervor
Seeking out ones desire is the only way for one to live ....
So in this existence as a HS did he seek godhood, beauty, greatness, power , immortality , inventions or victory
Did he seek death and non - existence ?
If he somehow deleted his entire saint graph from the throne would he be non - existent for ever ?
That was an interesting thought ....

Merlin and a small council of HS were discussing their current predicament
A Lostbelt's information was to be stored away for further deep analysis : this information be transformed and used correctly would be a valuable weapon specifically for chaldea made by chaldea for chaldea with a defence mechanism against outer interventions similar to Archer Gilgamesh's Ea ,
And this processed data might even reveal their true enemy and let them pull one up against their opponents
This was a good idea but this involved processing data of almost equal to a full planet and transforming it with encryption for themselves required a lot of energy and skill
Who could possibly do it ?
Why, who better than himself who jeld Ea and his GoB he the first Hero was of course the go to choice , but he Gilgamesh said nothing out loud , let the mongrels squabble among themselves , of course if they asked him of it he would first test them foe their Worthiness to witness his valor
After sometime the small counsel scattered , he made to go away when Merlin called out to him ,
" King of Heroes if you have a moment "
Well he might as well here Merlin out he did help him in Babylonia , " Hmm .."
"I am sure it has occurred to you during our discussion that your Gate of Babylon and Ea and SNI are perfect NPs for attempting this venture of Chaldea "
" Yes it did "
" And you also understand what it would entail ? "
Consuming his entire saint graph and his becoming non - existent ... Maybe forever
" What is it that you want from me , Mage of Avalon ? "
" Well , King of Heroes , would you consider taking on this venture for Chaldea ?"
Would he consider burning his entire saint graph for a signature NP for Chaldea only risking, as he was quite sure of it , becoming non - existent for ever
He thought for a while
Well.....
---- On D Day -----
Merlin and a few other HS watched on as the King of Heroes was stuck inside a pillar of light seemingly unconcious
But inside Archer Gilgamesh's mind was flowing data nearly at the speed of thought which he was processing , only the nodes he felt were important which he discerned with his SNI , his Ea was eating away at his Saint Graph to supply his GoB and SNI the power to interpret for Chaldea, encrypt like Ea so Chaldeans only can use it and process a planets data plus a PHH worth of alternate Phenomena and Textures nearly at the speed of thought
Gilgamesh could now consciously feel his saint graph cutting and screaming
The throne rebelling to not let go of its possession
Typical...
He felt he could feel his life swim before his eyes
There was nothing to see there ... His life flashed before him a million times during his time as a HS ,
His eyes were shut
Just like when his life was leaving him when he was dying as a demigod
He remembered Enkidu's death Enkidu was staring into his eyes when he was dying as a god's machine
If he had been dying in Enkidu's arms would he have his eyes open of closed
He wondered if he should open his eyes and capture his last moments as a HS , but what was so amusing to witness in a group of struggling mongrels
He wondered what he would kike to see if he should open his eyes
His Saint Graph was burning away quickly and his progress on this new construction by him was going at an impressive speed considering it was not his usual methods
These processing and copying reminded him of a certain faker and of those few moments of that loving gaze they held of a certain someone
His mind conjured up a vague image of what he wanted to see
---- Outside Chaldean Group POV ------
The King of Heroes had taken on the challenge,
There were few words exchanged with him when he declared he was going to attempt that large scan
After all he had scorned at them all and this sudden camaraderie did not exactly make them old time Chums
And So they waited in anticipation for Merlin to layout his next orders
A few other chaldeans had joined them as Archer Gilgamesh seemed to be frozen there before them ,
Presently the King of Knights had walked upto Merlin
She looked into the upright and seemingly asleep King of Heroes looking serene with a soft glow surrounding him
She asked Merlin what was going on
It Seems King of Knights was not oart of Merlin's council for this experiment of his
Merlin gave her a briefing and her eyes widened slightly
It seemed King of Knights was caught by surprise by this sudden camaraderie and selfless efforts of King of Heroes , well even more so with how he harassed her
Saber Artoria looked onto Archer Gilgamesh
---- Gil POV -----
He felt a rising urge to open his eyes
He had to see ....wanted to see ... hoped to see .... If he could see at all ...
And so he was going to see....
He opened his eyes slowly , purposefully and quickly searched the face in the small group looking onto him
In a moment their eyes locked and his mind zoomed out to capture her beautiful face fully
His eyes caught her lips move he focused on her lips and he was sure his mind read out very very clearly with a laser focus on her eyes and lips
"Don't go , Gilgamesh "
---- Third person POV -----
As the group looked on something changed around the King of Heroes the light around his burned brighter and his expression changed from serene to a full scorn
He seemed to be in quite some pain yet Merlin held his fingers to his chin and seemed to be analysing it with no further instructions from Merlin the group stood still
After sometime some thing like a small blade or a shaft manifested itself in Archer Gilgamesh's left hand it grew in size and the intense light concentrated around it and moved away from Archer Gilgamesh's body to only his left arm and most intensely around what now looked like a long thin rectangular key
After much longer the light finally died ,
Archer Gilgamesh stumbled forward panting
Merlin and King of Knights both rushed to him
Archer Gilgamesh caught himself, hoisted himself upright and ripped out his now amalgamated with the new Chaldean NP left arm splattering some blood on the ground
Merling collected this artefact , a red transmutation circle of his magic appeared on top and bottom of this key and it disappeared in layers into these 2 circles
Archer Gilgamesh lifted his right arm and placed it gently on the King of Knights left cheek
Neither of them said anything thing
Saber Artoria turned around and said something to Merlin which he seemed to affirm and marched away just like she came
Merlin exchanged a short dialogue with the King of Heroes and Nodded a greeting and left
King of Heroes followed Merlin shortly after along with the rest of the Chaldean group
---- King of Heroes POV ------
His eyes caught and his brain read
" Don't go, Gilgamesh "
He shut his eyes immediately and concentrated heavily on what he was processing
There has to be a way , there had to be
He would find a way out
His mind processed the waves of data, zooming in and out at the speed of thought ,his SNI was working at full throttle, His Ea's swirl keeping the throne and his saint graph burning at bay , had he ever used his Ea this masterfully
Later he would attempt repairing his saint graph , he had a more important task first
He finally found a link from his SNI to this Lostbelt's texture
He found multiple concepts in his NPs of GoB that matched these typical textures and he proceeded to link them together via his GoB and used his Ea and already consumed saint graph to .... Well he was not one to use mage craft but on this special occasion ... He projected his own construction for once in his left arm with his GoB and Ea , he felt his left arm burning and soon lost sensation in it , oh well
He shut his eyes tightly and pushed his SNI even further - he had to construct this as completely as he could with the resources he had collected
He felt a million spikes hitting and exploding against the inside of his cranium
He felt he would soon loose consciousness for real
His breathing was becoming laboured
He felt the blood coursing through his veins heat up like a fire
Then he finally saw it : the encryption that would give Chaldea an advantage even if its only temporary
He locked it into the blade key construction he had projected in his left hand
He then proceeded to meticulously nd he dared say with a genius worked all the data into this construction of his his focus was sharp and he soon completed this task
His burning of his Saint graph had been minimal
He even managed to repair some of it himself
But the damage to his saint graph was extensive - it would show in his GoB and in himself - he might ask Merlin to do something about it
Oh well he would at least walk out of this alive
He made more repairs to his saint graph till it was not critical and proceeded to do some final touches to this new NP
The light around him subsided while the NO was glowing mesmerizing with he heat and fire radiating from it
He had created this beauty
Dare he say as beautiful as the King of Knights' Excalibur if not more
Proud of his accomplishment he took a step forward
And nearly fell to the pain through his spine and weight he felt in his left arm
When he looked at his left arm it was neither radiating with beauty or mesmerizing
It looked like a thin rectangular stub of copper
He held his sigh and tore of his left arm slightly gritting his teeth
Some blood splattered to the ground
He looked ahead of him
Merlin and King of Knights stood before him , behind them farther away the rest of the party
He held out the NP to Merlin , who scanned it away with his magic he marvelled as always slightly at Merlin's true magic
If Merlin was disappointed with his impromptu change in their joint venture , he did not show it
The group behind them held neutral expressions as well
Well he was not known for selfless sacrifice
Maybe they including Merlin had expected him to not gi through with it
Or to fail at it
Merlin also seemed to have not mentioned to Saber that he essentially requested him to go through a suicide mission
He took a careful step forward and reached out to King of Knights who stood still as if she knew what he wanted
When the inside of his right gauntlet touched her left cheek his pondering of non-existence and stillness of death disappeared
When he looked into her eyes he knew what he desired
Pursuing ones desire is what it means to Live
Some things are beautiful because they cannot be obtained ?
He was sure she would look dazzlingly enchanting with his arms , or arm, around her

Some old disasters I posted originally on Twitter during 2021-2023
Instead reuploading them separately I made a collection because old works usually share some “ You guys probably/perhaps/possibly don’t care but I VERY MUCH DO AND THEY ARE KILLING ME” flaws
I’m just reducing the possibility of seeing them multiple times during uploading and trying my best not to yeet myself out of window 👍

Best and worst dates
Shirou and Astoria
Shirou and Astoria were at a zoo for their date. With Astoria gazed at the lion with a starry-eyed gaze while Shirou stared at Astoria with a small smile.
Shirou: Are you enjoying the date Artoria-chan?
Astoria looked at her Master/lover with a bright smile on her sharp, noble-bearing features.
Astoria: I'm Shirou-kun. This is the best outing I've had with you so far
Artoria and Shirou gazed at each other in tender affection, emitting a lovey-dovey air.
X-xx-X
Shirou found himself looking at his lover in her Alter form strangling Gilgamesh with her bare hands.
Shirou: Why do he have to provoke Astoria of all day...and why do he have to do it when she like this?
Astoria: Die you die! Die like the lowly worm you are!
